i still think about that one time my friend wanted to sing with me, but refused to tell me what song he'd picked. i was all "what if i don't know the lyrics?" and he was all "you will." but i wasn't sure. until i heard the intro to twin size mattress by the front bottoms play. i'll be damned, i did know the lyrics.

the real kicker is that me and my friend had never talked about or even mentioned the song to each other before that moment. but for the simple fact that we were both queer teenagers, he just assumed i knew the lyrics. and he was fucking right.
