Toons with Caretaker! Reader // Dandy's world
Scenario/writing
I don't know if I would consider this as an AU or some illogical noncanon implement based - but here's my personal idea(I won't take criticism, I'm very self-conscious with what I self-endulge--)
Tumblr media
Reader in this scenario is actually one caretaker who has phenomenal ability to clone themselves into multiple versions of them. It was an original idea for the prototype Y/N to be a caretaker that replaced the "missing one" for only one certain toon... in this case scenario, Toodles'. However, what was shocking is that the toons happen to take a liking of the caretaker of the same face... same charisma and tenderness.
So the company decided to expand their research and enhanced Y/N's  capacities to clone themselves for a certain amount of time and train their cognitive and physical strength...
The only condition was for the original Y/N to stay intact in order for the clone to not get affected... and for the caretaking service not to be full-time.
Y/N was considered a "human" with not much personal information written in their files, making a perfect specimen to be recruited as a caretaker.
"Caretaker Y/N held so much love and care for these toons and children." An audio is heard from a tape record, "But keep in mind there is only one Y/N, not the others."
Unlike the original, who is often seen wearing a rainbow uniform. every Y/N caretaker wears respective colors and uniforms that complement the toon assigned.
Eventually... the company eventually abandoned the project along with the Gardenview center. The other caretaker counterparts left as well after acknowledging the crisis of their labor. This left Y/N no longer having maintenance service.
Y/N, being a determined one for the sake of what they care for, decided to bring this matter into their hands...
According to the conditions the Gardenview has been through in the aftermath, with twisted wandering around the floors and mysterious chores leaking in dark places...
They decided to redesign their clones to be capable of teaching toons how to handle situations and keep themselves safe whenever they couldn’t be able to be there at certain times(by that, Caretaker Y/N had to go through all the research collected by the toons, in hope for these twisted  entities to diminish, or some cure for them.)
Of course, these are tough feats. Not even Y/N would handle them by themselves. After a few days scouting around the abandoned ruins, they eventually came to the conclusion to reluctantly accept their beloved toons' assistance, who for some reason have to help with Dandy's little obsession with the tapes...
That's the moment Y/N realizes their rainbow baby just discovered capitalism... (nice.????)
But well- they must have to learn the truth themselves too. They don't deserve to be put in the shadows....not like them, again.
With this transition of events, the toons not only acknowledge the caretaker as their guardian angel who would guide them in necessary circumstances or cherish them. But also a "professor" for some toons like Shelly and Rodger.
"Professor Y/N has a lot of knowledge to offer... from the locations of where fossils are concentrated and how ichor machines function around the building! Even i love asking questions, so they're always happily helping me." Shelly states in an audio tape.
Under their guidance, it allow toons to maintain a safe circle from the chaotic world they're confined in. Offering love, affirmation, rationality, and advice.
Toons, at some point, learned that everything they share with the clones, the original Catetaker would know as well... their contact with the guardian being accessible both directly and indirectly.
This is pretty good for those who wanted to express their feelings so the original can come to them personally when requested... while some prefer privacy and space for themselves, which the Caretaker acknowledges.
As Y/N is the same person, not all toons are the same.
Sometimes, some toons don't mind sharing and prefer to spend time with the original caretaker(who do not mind dropping everything temporarily for both happiness and safety for them). On the other hand... Some prefer to keep the caretaker to themselves, bringing some jealousy.
(This includes Dandy... )
Nonetheless, Caretaker Y/N remains loving. They cherish all toons unconditionally. Even if cherishing is part of their job, they came into learning how to love them all independently.
_____
//Caretaker Voicelines//
//Lobby Radio//
"All elevators are in service... please be careful on your way there."
"Make space for everyone's path. We have a lot of room!"
"Come to my lab if any injuries should be reported, please. I want to make sure everyone is in good shape!"
"Good morning, good afternoon, good night..!"
"What shall we do today, Mm? It's time to check the bulletin board..."
(Rare) "Guys... why are you banging your head into the tree...?"
//before Elevator closes//
"Good luck, my friends."
"Stay safe, I'll always be waiting here."
"I'll watch over you from here."
"Love you all... Please take care."
(Toodles in the party)"Toodles, you know what to do! Sh..." *soft shhs before babbling spy music goofs*
"Remember... Don't take Dandy personally, Lil' fella doesn't even know what he is saying...-"
//Coming back from a run//
"Welcome back - how are you doing?"
"Tired? Poor thing... now now, come to the dorm room as I make your bed."
"Something wrong? No, dear, there's nothing wrong back there. You had quite a run there! I'm so proud of you."
"Hey there! You're just in time... check out your progress you just did, champ!"

Carol Diann Johnson was born in the Bronx, New York City, on July 17, 1935, to John Johnson, a subway conductor, and Mabel (Faulk), a nurse. While Carroll was still an infant, the family moved to Harlem, where she grew up except for a brief period in which her parents had left her with an aunt in North Carolina. She attended Music and Art High School, and was a classmate of Billy Dee Williams. In many interviews about her childhood, Carroll recalls her parents' support, and their enrolling her in dance, singing, and modeling classes. By the time Carroll was 15, she was modeling for Ebony. "She also began entering television contests, including Arthur Godfrey's Talent Scouts, under the name Diahann Carroll." After graduating from high school, she attended New York University, where she majored in sociology, "but she left before graduating to pursue a show-business career, promising her family that if the career did not materialize after two years, she would return to college.
Carroll's big break came at the age of 18, when she appeared as a contestant on the DuMont Television Network program, Chance of a Lifetime, hosted by Dennis James. On the show, which aired January 8, 1954, she took the $1,000 top prize for a rendition of the Jerome Kern/Oscar Hammerstein song, "Why Was I Born?" She went on to win the following four weeks. Engagements at Manhattan's Café Society and Latin Quarter, nightclubs soon followed.
Carroll's film debut was a supporting role in Carmen Jones (1954), as a friend to the sultry lead character played by Dorothy Dandridge. That same year, she was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for her role in the Broadway musical, House of Flowers. A few years later, she played Clara in the film version of George Gershwin's Porgy and Bess (1959), but her character's singing parts were dubbed by opera singer Loulie Jean Norman. The following year, Carroll made a guest appearance in the series Peter Gunn, in the episode "Sing a Song of Murder" (1960). In the next two years, she starred with Sidney Poitier, Paul Newman, and Joanne Woodward in the film Paris Blues (1961) and won the 1962 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical (the first time for a Black woman) for portraying Barbara Woodruff in the Samuel A. Taylor and Richard Rodgers musical No Strings. Twelve years later, she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress for her starring role alongside James Earl Jones in the film Claudine (1974), which part had been written specifically for actress Diana Sands (who had made guest appearances on Julia as Carroll's cousin Sara), but shortly before filming was to begin, Sands learned she was terminally ill with cancer. Sands attempted to carry on with the role, but as filming began, she became too ill to continue and recommended her friend Carroll take over the role. Sands died in September 1973, before the film's release in April 1974.
Carroll is known for her titular role in the television series Julia (1968-71), which made her the first African-American actress to star in her own television series who did not play a domestic worker. That role won her the Golden Globe Award for Best TV Star – Female for its first year, and a nomination for an Primetime Emmy Award in 1969. Some of Carroll's earlier work also included appearances on shows hosted by Johnny Carson, Judy Garland, Merv Griffin, Jack Paar, and Ed Sullivan, and on The Hollywood Palace variety show. In 1984, Carroll joined the nighttime soap opera Dynasty at the end of its fourth season as the mixed-race jet set diva Dominique Deveraux, Blake Carrington's half-sister. Her high-profile role on Dynasty also reunited her with her schoolmate Billy Dee Williams, who briefly played her onscreen husband Brady Lloyd. Carroll remained on the show and made several appearances on its short-lived spin-off, The Colbys until she departed at the end of the seventh season in 1987. In 1989, she began the recurring role of Marion Gilbert in A Different World, for which she received her third Emmy nomination that same year.
In 1991, Carroll portrayed Eleanor Potter, the doting, concerned, and protective wife of Jimmy Potter (portrayed by Chuck Patterson), in the musical drama film The Five Heartbeats (1991), also featuring actor and musician Robert Townsend and Michael Wright. She reunited with Billy Dee Williams again in 1995, portraying his character's wife Mrs. Greyson in Lonesome Dove: The Series. The following year, Carroll starred as the self-loving and deluded silent movie star Norma Desmond in the Canadian production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical version of the film Sunset Boulevard. In 2001, Carroll made her animation debut in The Legend of Tarzan, in which she voiced Queen La, ruler of the ancient city of Opar.
In 2006, Carroll appeared in several episodes the television medical drama Grey's Anatomy as Jane Burke, the demanding mother of Dr. Preston Burke. From 2008 to 2014, she appeared on USA Network's series White Collar in the recurring role of June, the savvy widow who rents out her guest room to Neal Caffrey. In 2010, Carroll was featured in UniGlobe Entertainment's breast cancer docudrama titled 1 a Minute and appeared as Nana in two Lifetime movie adaptations of Patricia Cornwell’s novels: At Risk and The Front.
In 2013, Carroll was present on stage at the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards to briefly speak about being the first African-American nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award. She was quoted as saying about Kerry Washington, nominated for Scandal, "She better get this award."
Carroll was a founding member of the Celebrity Action Council, a volunteer group of celebrity women who served the women's outreach of the Los Angeles Mission, working with women in rehabilitation from problems with alcohol, drugs, or prostitution. She helped to form the group along with other female television personalities including Mary Frann, Linda Gray, Donna Mills, and Joan Van Ark.
Carroll was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1997. She said the diagnosis "stunned" her, because there was no family history of breast cancer, and she had always led a healthy lifestyle. She underwent nine weeks of radiation therapy and had been clear for years after the diagnosis. She frequently spoke of the need for early detection and prevention of the disease. She died from cancer at her home in West Hollywood, California, on October 4, 2019, at the age of 84. Carroll also had dementia at the time of her death, though actor Marc Copage, who played her character's son on Julia, said that she did not appear to show serious signs of cognitive decline as late as 2017. A memorial service was held in November 24, 2019, at the Helen Hayes Theater in New York City.

Beetlejuice the Musical - an Analysis/My Favorite Parts
Prologue: Invisible
“Grown-ups wanna fix things. When they can't it only fills them with shame, so they just look away."
The Whole “Being Dead" Thing
TRUMPETS
“Rodgers, Hart, and Hammerstein”
"How you doin'? Oh, not good! *scats*"
“If you die while listening to this album, it’s still gonna keep playing”
“Blah blah Bible Jesus Magic”
DIES IRAE
Ready Set, Not Yet
THE FAST BITS
When Adam waits a beat after his fast bit before saying “ready set” because he’s not as confident as Barbara ahhhhhhhh
When Barbara sings the word "terror" like "terra"
“Hiding away so you don’t have to face being a bad mom” whoever wrote these lyrics is so mean
“Oh… NO”
The Whole "Being Dead" Thing: Reprise
The pause after “Hi!”
“Jesus I can’t spell”
“Eh, worth a try”
“I’m the bio-exorcist, giving houses enemas”
Dead Mom
“Daddy’s moving forward, daddy didn’t lose a mom”
“A plague of mice, a lightning strike, or drop a nuclear bomb”
Fright of their Lives
“Drop your panties”
“No. What fills you with RAGE”
“Being mean to a pet” MOOD BARBARA
BJ’s soliloquy, he’s so over it, so DRAMATIC
“WHY GOD SLASH SATAN”
“Uch, these dopes are both hopeless”
Ready, Set (Reprise)
You can just SEE the shoulder bump with “I’m sure we can haunt our own halls”
“I gotta get right outside my comfort zone” 😬
No Reason
“What’s happening, GURL”
“Buy more crystals”
The windchime during “put a little alright in the world”
“Where good people die” “NO”
“Cuz you’re bored” FLUTE SOLO
“Meaninglessness and alone” “NONONONONOOOOOOoooooo~” the talent it takes to pull off that vocal riff is ridiculous
“Is this still about me?”
The harmonies in the last note
Invisible (Reprise)/On the Roof
“Somebody’s on the roof” always has me cackling
“I, Lydia Deetz” *BIG SIGH* “will be gone”
“I’M GONNA HAVE A NEW BEST FRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEND”
Say My Name
The musical style?!?!?!?
This is my favorite song in the entire show. And it was not an easy choice.
“What?” “Nothing”
Nice Moana reference
“Beetlejuice?” she says, like “what a dumb fuckin name”
LYDIA’S WHOLE SECTION LET’S GOOOOOO
Including the music change
BJ being like WHAT and SO frustrated every time she psychs him out
In the production I saw Lydia said “I just metcha” and I like that better
“I may be suicidal but Beetlejuice it’s not as if I’ve lost my mind” OOF
“That was possession” lol he’s so proud of himself
Love love love the rhyme: “Pretty much, any ghost’ll do, sure” “Then Beetlejuice, what do I need you for?” and the subsequent WOAH WOAH WOAH
The instrumental hit right after she sings “Yeah I got game” is my favorite
This whole song just slaps idk what else to tell you
Day-O
“I’d have to… check my pay stubs”
“Oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy” as he pops up out of the table he had to hide in the whole scene
Dad finally saying Lydia’s name as he’s swept away
“It’s our house now, kid”
Girl Scout
“Ooh~!”
The piano during “my heart is defective” A+ score writing
“Still”
*dramatic music* JAMBOREES
“Whee!”
*nervous laughter after meeting Lydia*
“By selling cookies *BIG BREATH* four dollars a box”
Also. FOUR DOLLARS A BOX?!??!?!?! Jealous.
“Pedophiles” 😇
That Beautiful Sound
“He is so weird”
Love the smooth jazzy style
“Time for a few OH MY GOD”
“How many… people… live here?”
Lydia’s laugh after “nice moves Lydia” is so pure
“Pfah, holy moly, lotta people come to this house”
“Yes, I hear that sooooooooooound” he’s so happy
“No more condescending adults hanging around”
“Daddy’s leaving me the hell alone”
Barbara 2.0
“It’s the stuff of our lives, and all of it’s shit.”
“Okay, that wasn’t as much fun as I thought it would be.”
“Buhreak it”
“The new Adam is wiserrrrrrr”
Harmonieeeeees
What I Know Now
“I went to parties a lot…” *sniff* “You know?”
“Niche was right, you know? To live is to suffer, bro”
“Life is short but death is super long”
I really like this song because if you ruminate on it long enough it’s a good song to talk you into living life to its fullest even if things suck.
Home
I love that this is a reprise but also the whole theme of Lydia’s character - that her mom is home. But then she finds out that she can have a home with a (very dysfunctional) family and not forget her mom either.
Her little laugh when she says Delia’s name
Creepy Old Guy
“I’m a creepy old guy!!”
“Girls may seem disgusted, but we’re actually just shy”
Shoobedowop
In the show I saw, Lydia goes: “Even on the inside, he- he’s disgusting” which I liked better than the recording
“A dance break on an album? Amazing.”
“L’chaim” is pronounced correctly, thank you Alex
“God be glorified” in a fucked up key
The whole company going “I can’t believe some cultures think this kind of thing’s alright” in unison
Jump in the Line/Dead Mom - Reprise
A perfect song to end a perfect show.
“I adore huh”
“Mama if you’re listening, doesn’t this just blow your mind?”
Shake shake shake senora in the background UGH MY HEART
DAYLIGHT COME AND ME WAN GO HOME
She’s home (I’m not crying you’re crying)
Overall thoughts:
Alex doing the Beetlejuice voice throughout THE WHOLE SHOW
The rhyming throughout the whole musical is just. A+
Lydia’s songsssssss
Honestly all the vocal parts are real hard
And so is the book for the pit
There’s like 8 different genres of music throughout the show and it just WORKS
I had no idea this show existed until the start of this year and now it’s in my top 3 favorite musicals. 10/10 amazing incredible perfect

Everyone (tf2 comic artists included) wants you to believe that scout is a hairless baby man. And don't get me wrong he absolutely is he's the only merc who canonically doesn't have facial hair!
But im here to offer you the truth:
Scout is semi-hairy everywhere BUT his face.
Now don't get me wrong he's not like a total bear about it like heavy or medic, but he's not like. Totally hairless. He's blond so that also doesn't help, but the dude absolutely has chest and shoulder hair and to this day gets so fucking pissed that he can't grow any facial hair to save his life. Just a sad little shaggy rodgers goatee IF he's lucky. Do not tease him about his chest being hairier than his face he WILL punch you then cry about it alone in his bedroom later

Scouts Honor
Summary: just a little drabble that's been in my drafts for months
Content Warning: just fluff, friendly banter, and some smutty allusions if you squint
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Steve Rodgers x Reader (non-gender-specific)
Tumblr media
The three of you lay sprawled on your kingsized bed. Limps all tangled together as you watched a movie and listened to the rain tap against the window outside.
Buck was slumped against the headboard with your head resting on his lap, while Stevie had his head laying comfortably on your belly. You played with his hair while Bucky played with yours, it was nice.
"Do you think ghosts are real?" Bucky suddenly asked.
"Sure they are."
"Absolutely not."
You and Steve replied simultaneously
"oh boy..." Bucky said, knowing this would lead to yet another one of your and Steve's pointless discussions.
"I can't believe you think ghosts are real," Steve exclaimed, raising up from your lap.
"I can't believe you don't!" you shot back at him. "Seriously, Steve, you were able to survive over 70 years in the ice, you've both traveled to outer space to fight literal aliens but ghosts is where you draw the line?!"
"that IS a good point, Stevie." Bucky softly mumbled.
"Oh great, there you go, always ganging up on me." Steve fake pouted and scooted away from the both of you with his back towards you guys.
You and Bucky rolled your eyes and looked at each other with a smirk, knowing exactly what the other was thinking.
"I'm real sorry Stevie..." you cooed "please don't be mad."
"Yeah punk," Bucky said, playing with Steve's hair. "we'd never gang up on you," he pressed a kiss on Steve's shoulder before adding, "unless you want us to of course."
"s'that so?" Steve asked, looking over his shoulder with a raised brow
"Hmm" you hummed in agreement.
"Scouts honor," Bucky promised, raising his hand up in the air ceremonially.
"You weren't even in the scouts, you dumbass." You laughed
"It's the thought that counts!"
"You two are ridiculous." Steve sighed, yanking each of you by the arm making you fall against him.

[looks at mirror] Music, music... Music! [angelic choir starts playing]
And thus, I am summoned like Betelgeuse with my scroll of music recs. Are you ready for Dad Rock? Are you ready for Metal? Are you ready for my entire 500 song playlist of music? You are now :)
(This post is long. Like, really long. And I don't even have all 500 songs in here. My recommendations from my playlist are below the cut. If you'd rather just see all the songs in my playlist, you can find them here. I'll see you on the other side, soldier o7)
These are some songs that I listen to whenever I work out/go to the gym. Nothing like a bit of rage to get you through those reps:
Reapers - Muse The Handler - Muse Psycho - Muse Winter Rain - Sick Century Welcome To the Family - Avenge Sevenfold Enter Sandman - Metallica As Above So Below - Beyond the Breach In The End - Black Veil Brides Almost Easy - Avenged Sevenfold [Obligatory Slipknot and System of a Down mention here] Sun Killer - Spirit Box Rules of Nines - Spirit Box Blessed Be - Spirit Box Twilight Of The Thunder God - Amon Amarth Dethrone - Bad Omens Inspire the Liars - Dance Gavin Dance
If you like metal bands with female lead singers, I highly recommend Spirit Box. The lead has an absolutely angelic voice and the band itself is incredible.
If you like amazing electric guitar solos/sections then Muse (Specifically their songs Psycho and Reapers) is the band for you
For drums, Welcome To The Family has a sick drum solo at the beginning of the song. It's insane
Here's some songs with gorgeous Vocals/Instrumentals that blew my mind when I first heard them (and continue to blow my mind whenever I listen to them again):
The Parting Glass - The Choral Scholars Of University College Dublin This Is How It Feels - D4VD & Laufey The Rockrose And the Thistle - The Amazing Devil Out of North - Jesper Kyd Promise - Laufey Swan Upon Leda - Hozier Secret Worlds - The Amazing Devil Inkpot Gods - The Amazing Devil Requiem - Dies Irae
All of the Assassin's Creed: Valhalla soundtrack is absolutely gorgeous and I cannot recommend listening to it enough
The Amazing Devil is similarly incredible, check it out
Now for "oldies that you've definitely heard already but I like them so I'm putting them here anyway," enjoy:
I'm Alright - Kenny Loggins Heat Of the Moment - Asia Just Like Paradise - David Lee Roth God Gave Rock 'N' Roll To You II - Kiss Any Way You Want It - Journey Carry On Wayward Son - Kansas I Was Made For Lovin' You - Kiss You Give Love A Bad Name - Bon Jovi Livin' On A Prayer - Bon Jovi Sweet Child O' Mine - Guns N' Roses Kiss On My List - Daryl Hall & John Oates The Gambler - Kenny Rodgers I'd Rather Be A Cowboy - John Denver Calypso - John Denver Make Your Own Kind Of Music - Mama Cass House Of The Rising Sun - The Animals What's New Pussycat? - Tom Jones That's life - Frank Sinatra Bad, Bad Leroy Brown - Frank Sinatra Vienna - Billy Joel Dust In the Wind - Kansas Leaving On A Jet Plane - John Denver 500 Miles - Peter, Paul, and Mary El Paso - Marty Robbins Private Eyes - Daryl Hall & John Oates American Pie - Don McLean The End of The World - Skeeter Davis Smoke Gets In Your Eyes - The Platters
TF2 has done irreparable damage to me because I can't listen to half of these songs without immediately thinking of one of the mercs (cough cough What's New Pussycat? cough cough Scout cough)
I don't have much else to say about these songs besides go listen to them if you haven't heard them already
And finally, songs that didn't fit into any of the above categories but I wanted to include them anyway:
Living Proof - Gregory Alan Isakov My Love, Mine All Mine - Mitski Dark, Dark, Dark - Gregory Alan Isakov Broken Coastline - Down Like Silver Southern Soldier - 2nd South Carolina String Band Dixie's Land - 2nd South Carolina String Band Bug Like and Angel - Mitski Dandelion Wine - Gregory Alan Isakov San Luis - Gregory Alan Isakov The Stable Song - Gregory Alan Isakov Amsterdam - Gregory Alan Isakov Any Will Wood Song Dream, Ivory - Dream, Ivory Any Phoebe Bridgers Song Any Hozier Song Wishing Well - The Oh Hellos Warm Glow - Hippo Campus
While these aren't all the songs I would recommend, they're all I'm going to put on this post. I know a lot of these songs are really popular, but I hope you end up finding a song you haven't heard before or one that you like :)))

"I caught you with your PANTS down!" - Haru to Tarhos
Who Framed Rodger Rabbit | Accepting
Tumblr media
The dragon was basking serenely in the water, letting the river wash away the blood and grime of his most recent meal. A scouting party he'd known existed for about a day and half before he sought them out. He jolted up at Haru's voice barely seeing him before he landed by the riverside obviously upset, he didn't need their shared mind to know that by the way his talons tensed and his feathers fluffed. Tarhos offered and apologetic look moving to stand from the river. Oh he knew quite well what this was over. How his beloved absolutely adored carving through waves of bodies Noxus threw for their war machine, but he was resting. There was no need to bother him for such a simple treat,
"Dear, sweetie, love of my life, my eternal rest, my heart light, the fury that flows through my veins, my sweet little bird..... I do not wear pants."

The NFL Draft helped the Packers survive
The Green Bay Packers, one of the NFL’s most storied franchises, have a rich history that intertwines with the evolution of the NFL Draft. The team was founded in 1919 by Earl “Curly” Lambeau and George Calhoun and joined the NFL in 1921. Since then, the Packers have become known for their small-town roots, fervent fan base, and championship legacy, including multiple Super Bowl victories.
Before we dig in, are you preparing for a big move? Whether you’re moving across town or across the country, understanding and preparing for the possible costs can make all the difference. It will also be better to hire a good moving company like Elate Moving in order to save your money and make everything faster and more profitable. So don’t be afraid to take that job, make the move!
A way to even the field
The NFL Draft, initially established in 1936, transformed the way football franchises built their rosters. Before the draft, players were free to sign with any team, which often created an imbalance as wealthier teams in larger markets secured the most sought-after college players. The draft was introduced to level the playing field, providing a structured system where the weakest teams would have the opportunity to select the best available talent from the college ranks.
The Packers have had a remarkable draft history, with their strategy evolving through the decades. One of their most famous draft picks came in 1956, when they selected Bart Starr, a quarterback from the University of Alabama, in the 17th round. Starr went on to become one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history and led the team to five NFL championships, including victories in Super Bowl I and II.
Green Bay’s draft acumen was further highlighted in the 1960s under the guidance of legendary coach Vince Lombardi. Lombardi’s focus on character and mental toughness led to the selection of several Hall of Famers who would form the backbone of the Packers’ “Titletown” era. The team’s scouting and drafting philosophies have been key to maintaining competitive teams, even as the draft itself has become a highly scientific and scrutinized process.
A three-day spectacular now
In the modern era, the NFL Draft has become a media spectacle, with extensive coverage and analysis. It provides a yearly renewal of hope for teams looking to rebuild or reload. The Packers have adapted to these changes, leveraging both traditional scouting methods and advanced analytics to identify talent. This balanced approach led to the selection of players like Aaron Rodgers, who dropped to the 24th overall pick in 2005 and has since carved out a Hall of Fame-worthy career.
As the draft has grown in complexity, so has the Packers’ strategy. They have become known for their “best player available” approach, often picking the top talent on their board regardless of immediate need. This strategy, combined with judicious trades and free agency moves, has kept the Packers consistently competitive.
The relationship between the Green Bay Packers and the NFL Draft is a tapestry of strategic decisions, legendary figures, and serendipitous moments. Each draft pick carries the potential to alter the franchise’s trajectory, continuing the legacy of a team deeply rooted in the history and tradition of American football.

Tumblr media
Well what a year its been, a glorious hot summer, festivals, shooting exclusively for Ashnikko, and a few bucket lists ticked off.

Milky Way from Wargasm is my ultimate favourite gig shot of the year - I took this after I had done my favourite list. I have entered this into the EPAs photo competition. I love the back lighting on her hair as it flares up just at the right moment, the way the edge of her coat is tinged blue by the lighting. BOOM!

As the year ends, I’d like to thank the people who have been supportive, whether it be a like, a chat, a comment or a retweet. Thanks to the photographers who have shared the pit with me and shared laughs and moans and to the reviewers who have complimented my photos with their beautiful words.
It’s been 15 years since I leapt into the music business with Mudkiss Fanzine. It's 8 years since I started to shoot for academy music group as a house photographer and 10 years louder than war It’s been another memorable year in the pit.
And a thanks to the PR + artists who made it possible to get into shows in the first place. My favourite show of the year to watch was Pink in Bolton - just spectacular. This year's top highlights have been getting interviewed and photographed for the Observer and Guardian on reaching 60 and still using the punk DIY spirit and having a photo shoot with the great photographer Perou. I was delighted to have won a one-off Marilyn Monroe hand-painted jacket by Dave Sharp 2024 has some promising shows lined up (of course pending accreditation). I've also been asked to do a talk/interview in March 2024 and I have entered a photo competition for the first time ever - wish me luck. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
