Okay but. Imagine Scourge seeing the decomposed body of his adoptive father whenever his thoughts get a little too intense :))
Cuz the master emerald fucked up his mind cuz its not suppose to be used for the wrong reasons AND he's not from that universe :))
(And he was already unstable so-- heheheh)
Also imagine..if you will..he saw Tikal while he was knocked into the emerald, and she's just confused and saddened to see a version of Sonic fallen so far from the right path, and she tries to warn him about going forward and he ofc ignores her and :)))
Mannnn.
Now also imagine.. Scourge being a bigger villain than he is in Canon. Like..he actively wants to destroy Sonics universe cuz he isn't thinking clearly (Like if Sonic is the main hero, the big hero EVERYONE goes to. Scourge deserves to be a bigger villain)
Scourge Arc would go crazy if they let him be legitimately insane 😳 like. Bro has insane and unnecessary beef with Sonic forever just cuz Sonic exists lmao-
(Also...Scourge and Amy's first meeting where she's geniunely nice to him and he's so confused :)) and he thinks she's cute but. Oh he's not Her Sonic, and the Real Sonic comes in to call him out and she thinks he's some evil dobbleganger (he is) but still. Thats unfortunate-)
ADNDBAHAU and. He isn't in love with Fiona, she's in love with him. He likes that she's reliable and trustworthy but he doesn't love her, he wants to ..but he can't. He's her weapon, nothing more (they aren't good for each other, He's crazy and she has abandonment issues ..so does he. They're too similar and far too different. They need people to help them, not encourage the crazy. You get it ? You GET IT??? ..here's how Scourge x Amy can win---))

I have a question if that doesn’t bother you, when did you start shipping Mighty and Scourge, and why do you ship them? :D ❤️💚
i started shipping mightourge around october of 2020, which surprised me because if i hadn't checked recently, i would have said something more like 2021! it started off as a crackship that jumped off from back when sonighty was my main ship. never thought it would have such a powerful grip on me but here we are, almost four years later!
i think i just really like to explore the potential dynamic. they're almost complete opposites; mighty is a kind, caring pacifist who absolutely has the ability to wreck anyone's shit but would only choose violence as a last resort. he's soft, but definitely not a pushover and he cares about doing the right thing and helping others when he can.
and scourge - well, scourge is a gremlin bastard (affectionate). he's done terrible things because he was essentially made to be a villain and nothing more. but because i have a soft spot for redemption arcs, mightourge stemmed from me thinking, "what if scourge wanted what sonic had? real, genuine connection? respect? love? and what if someone cared enough to help him get it?" aaand it all kinda snowballed from there lol.

You must go on a vision quest to see what the MCU is blind to (and by that I mean go find one (1) weird indie movie youve never heard of and watch the whole thing). Then you will be cleaned of your corporate media sins (/lh)

Oh good, I get to talk about this dumbass show (beloved)
RiD 01 as a whole is a SILLY fuckin show. Like they took the sillygoofy nature of g1 and went "bet," then cranked it 10 times higher. G1 still had its somber moments. Character work. Genuinely threatening and downright cruel villains. RiD 01 has occasional complex characters, but 90% of the time, this show is a fairly low-stakes comedy that's going full camp.
The autobots are dysfunctional and just straight up weird. Three of them are brothers, and it's not a trio anyone would EVER expect. Prowl is a fucking narc. Brawn is here but he's named X-Brawn bc I guess he had to get that Xtreme rebrand for the 2000s. He's also closer to Ironhide than anything, complete with the Texas accent. Their other brother is named Sideburn, he's the bumblebee equivalent as the Designated Kid Appeal Character, but he's also, and I shit you not, a sex pest about red sports cars. Not just bots with sports car alts. Any red sports car. He will drop everything to go chase a sexy red car and he catcalls it the whole time. The TFA constructicons have NOTHING on this guy. He gets so aggressively horny on main his narc-ass cop brother has to arrest him for it.
Optimus is here, and he's got his own family trouble. He has a brother too, and it's fucking Ultra Magnus. Magnus hates his guts because OP got chosen as Autobot leader and he didn't. At one point they find a cache of blank protoforms, Megatron gets to it first, and has one of them scan both himself and Optimus when he comes online, which results in Scourge, my lameass emo boyfriend i was defending through the whole Scourge War. He's literally just, like, Their Kid and he fucking hates his autobot dad so he lives with Megatron instead to try and make him proud of how Evil and Competent he is.
Megatron has like. Too many altmodes. Just too many. One of them sort of kind of counts as a sports car, that is partially red, Sideburn gets horny about it. Finding out it was Megatron did not stop him for asking for a date. Canon bisexual before IDW, even in the English dub.
The main villains serving Megatron are the predacons and they're about as threatening as team rocket and roughly half as competent. One of them is a squirrel voiced by Steve Blum. The second in command is SkyByte and he's so fucking bad at being evil. He writes poetry (which Optimus roasts the shit out of). He takes online personality quizzes and then gets legitimately upset if he doesn't get the results he wants. This was the plot of an entire episode. He has a crush on Megatron and fantasizes about doing a good job for him. He doesn't like scourge because he thinks he's Meg's new favorite. He does circus tricks on command. He has a soft spot for kids and he was so nice to them while actively trying to be evil that he ended up with a fanbase in-universe that followed him around and encouraged him to be a good guy. He is the EPITOME of a skrunkly little loser boyfailure AND he's a shark. What more could you ask for.
This is not even a quarter of the insane shit that happens in this show. It has NO chill, ever. If you want to see pure, unbridled chaos from robots that are usually at least a little more serious and intense, I literally cannot rec it enough. A lot of hot robots too, tbh. The things id do to Midnight Express...

Top 15 Portrayals of Dr. Frankenstein
Tumblr media
“What makes a monster, and what makes a man?” This quote from a Disney movie, of all things, weirdly sums up one of the central themes of Mary Shelley’s masterwork, “Frankenstein, or the Modern Prometheus.” In my previous countdown - where I discussed my favorite versions of the Frankenstein Monster - I said that Shelley’s novel is widely considered the first piece of sci-fi horror, not only because its title character is a scientist who attempts to use science to create life, but because the themes and ideas present in the novel are ones most common in science fiction, and especially “science horror,” to this day. In Shelley’s original novel, Victor Frankenstein is NOT a doctor. (Although I will be calling him “doctor” throughout this list, for various reasons. Deal with it.) Instead, he is a medical student studying to BE a doctor, who becomes so obsessed with the idea of not simply saving but CREATING life it drives him practically to madness. While Victor in the book is NOT the villain, you’d be hard-pressed to call him a hero, either…and that is the point. The book is filled with a lot of morally gray elements and ethical questionability, especially on the part of Frankenstein himself; while the Creature he constructs ultimately does turn out to do terrible things, it is largely because it has known nothing but scorn and neglect. This all begins when his “father” - after driving himself to bedlam creating the fellow in the first place - outright abandons him for, to be blunt, really petty reasons. Victor, in the novel, isn’t necessarily evil, but he IS extremely irresponsible and…well…frankly a bit of a drama queen. (I can relate, sadly.) His personal flaws and bad decisions lead to his own self-destruction, and the ruination of everything he holds dear. It is largely through him that a lot of the questions of the story we now associate with science horror come through: what happens when someone seeks knowledge too fervently? Do the means of gaining greater understanding of the world justify the ends? If we explore in certain directions, and don’t know when to hold back, will we find things out we really aren’t prepared to know? Are there, frankly, just some things man shouldn’t tamper with…and if we DO tamper with them, will we be capable of dealing with the consequences of our actions? That’s essentially the basic point of nearly every work of science fiction, especially of the darker variety: whether the “Monster” being faced comes in the form of advanced technology, extraterrestrial entities, unknowable cosmic forces, or biological scourges…it all seemingly begins with Frankenstein and his poorly-handled Monster. It’s for this reason you’ll sometimes find memes and posts that say, “Frankenstein IS the monster,” referring to Victor: the line between good and evil in the story is an extremely thin one, and while Victor never INTENDED to do any real harm, that does not excuse the harm that IS caused by his actions and inactions alike. Throughout different adaptations and reimaginings, Frankenstein has, as a result, been depicted in varying states of moral standing. Some versions take the flaws inherent in Shelley’s novel and go all the way with them, making the mad scientist into a villainous cad who will stop at nothing in his self-centered, arrogant attempts to basically play God. Other versions actually soften the character, giving him more redeeming qualities as he actually tries to do genuine good with his work, only for things to inevitably and unfortunately go awry all the same. Victor is neither of these in the novel, but both directions - and many more - can be fascinating in different ways. Keeping this in mind, it’s time to delve into the heart of darkness: these are My Top 15 Favorite Portrayals of Dr. Frankenstein!
Tumblr media
15. Tim Curry, from Frankenstein: Through the Eyes of the Monster.
I’m going to presume most of you know about Tim Curry’s star-making performance as Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the musical “Rocky Horror Show,” and its film adaptation “Rocky Horror Picture Show.” This cult classic musical was effectively a parody of Frankenstein…but, just like with the previous countdown, I didn’t think it was fair to include it, since I feel it’s really a bit more of its own thing, even if the parallels are obvious. HOWEVER, that doesn’t discount the time Curry played the ACTUAL Dr. Frankenstein, in this point-and-click adventure game. “Through the Eyes of the Monster,” as the title implies, puts the player in the role of Frankenstein’s Creation, as you have to explore the mad scientist’s castle and escape to the outside world. Based on that premise, and the casting of Curry, the version of Frankenstein here is one of the more villainous ones, and it really is Curry’s performance that makes the game: I’ve never actually played this title (it’s EXTREMELY rare and hard to get ahold of, by all accounts), but I have watched a couple of walkthroughs/Let’s Plays of it, and…well, let’s just say they don’t say much to its quality. It’s typically considered a bad game. Curry’s wry, morbid, delightfully wicked and predictably over-the-top Frankenstein, however, is very, VERY fun to see in action. If he’d been in a better game, this entry would have been a lot higher.
Tumblr media
14. Grant Moninger, from TMNT (2012).
In the 2012 version of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” there was a four-part story arc where the Turtles - alongside a time traveler named Renet - had to face the Universal Monsters, who were being led by a demon called Savanti Romero. In the third part of the story, Romero and his monster army traveled to Castle Frankenstein, where they manipulated Dr. Frankenstein with plans to use his Monster as part of their team. Both the doctor and his creation were voiced by Grant Moninger; a casting choice that does not appear to be mere coincidence. There was a lot of promise to this version of the scientist, but I don’t think it really reached full maximum: as much as I loved this story arc, the stuff with Frankenstein, in particular, seemed a bit rushed. This version actually makes the good doctor…well…a GOOD doctor, as he befriends the Turtles and actually comes to genuinely care for his Creation, despite his initial disgust. Unfortunately, we never really got any closure for the “Frankenstein Family,” and the shift from horror to acceptance seemed rather quick, as all of the doctor’s stuff was shoved into this one chapter of the four-part tale. I liked seeing a more sympathetic take on Frankenstein, and the interactions he had with Donatello and his Monster (nicknamed “Frank” by Mikey) were really nice, but I wish they’d just done more and given him more time.
Tumblr media
13. Donald Duck, from Disney’s Frankenstein Starring Donald Duck.
I’m hoping a lot of you will remember, from my past Dracula-related lists, the time Disney made a graphic novel version of “Dracula,” starring Mickey Mouse as Jonathan Harker and the Phantom Blot as the Count. Well, in that comic adaptation, none of the characters from the Donald Duck universe appear. This is because they were all saved for another graphic novel that was made concurrently: Disney’s Frankenstein. (Also, no, I’m not counting Runaway Brain here, just as I didn’t count it on the previous list. Sorry.) Just like the “Dracula” comic, this book actually sticks pretty darn close to Shelley’s story and text (though it naturally softens up some of the nastier bits), and there’s a lot of little in-jokes throughout the story that you’ll really only understand if you’ve actually read the book. In this version, Donald plays the role of the mad scientist, except instead of stitching together a monster created from cadavers out of rifled graves (bravo if you got that reference, by the way), he makes his Creature out of cardboard. While this was a very fun and funny entry, I personally prefer the work on “Dracula” a bit more: I just think it’s funnier (as well as even weirder, to be honest), and the casting there is even more enjoyable. Still, this is definitely a charming companion piece.
Tumblr media
12. Boris Karloff, from Mad Monster Party.
This Halloweentime film was a rare cinematic release by Rankin/Bass: the company best known for their holiday TV specials, such as “The Year Without a Santa Claus” and “Here Comes Peter Cottontail!” This is essentially a Rankin/Bass Halloween special, but expanded to feature length and released on the big screen. In it, Boris Karloff (whose animated puppet is a caricature of himself) plays the role of Dr. Frankenstein, rather than his Creation. It’s revealed that Frankenstein is actually the leader of an organization of famous horror icons, including Dracula, the Invisible Man, and his own Monster, just to name a few. However, the old doctor is getting on in years, and decides it’s time to step down and choose a successor in the form of his nephew: a wimpy, shrimpy clutz named Felix. The Monsters, appalled at this suggestion, plot to steal Frankenstein’s newest experiment - a special explosive - and assassinate Felix, so they can have the league to themselves. Then, without the good doctor to keep them all in check, they shall - what else? - take over the world. Karloff essentially plays a sort of exaggerated version of himself in this movie, which is, on its own, very fun to watch. His Dr. Frankenstein is a morbid and spooky soul, but he’s not really evil, unlike the Monsters he apparently controls. SPOILER ALERT: he even ends up sacrificing himself at the end of the film, to stop the villains from enacting their wicked schemes. The moment where he does so, for the record, is pure awesome: a word to the wise, DO NOT MESS WITH BORIS KARLOFF.
Tumblr media
11. Robert Foxworth, from Dan Curtis’ Frankenstein.
Dan Curtis - famous for his work on the Gothic soap opera “Dark Shadows” - did a whole bunch of TV film and miniseries adaptations of famous works of classic horror, throughout the late 60s and early 70s. Among these were “Dracula,” “The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde,” and, of course, “Frankenstein.” At the time, Curtis’ adaptation of the lattermost story was probably the most accurate that had been put to the screen, taking significantly fewer liberties with the source material of Mary Shelley than any other. Foxworth’s Victor Frankenstein, appropriately, sticks mostly true to the source as well, though the movie seems to paint him more as an idealistic scientific dreamer who gets in over his head than anything else. This carries over into one of the biggest changes to the film, the ending. SPOILER ALERT: instead of vowing to hunt down his creature to the ends of the Earth, a mortally wounded Frankenstein instead realizes his many mistakes, and apologizes to his “son,” telling him to learn to forgive both himself and others with his dying breath. Of course, we can’t give the Monster a happy ending, - we’ll have no joy and justice here, thank you - so the poor Creature, still in a state of mourning, ends up shot and killed anyway before he can put this into practice. Scientist and creation thus die in each other’s arms. Poetic in its own way, I suppose.
Tumblr media
10. Barret Oliver & Charlie Tahan, from Frankenweenie.
A sentimental parody of the 1931 Universal classic, the original “Frankenweenie” was a live-action short subject, created by Tim Burton while he was working at Disney. The story featured Victor Frankenstein (played then by Barret Oliver) as a young boy living in contemporary America. The boy is heartbroken when his beloved pet dog, Sparky, sadly dies. Inspired by a science demonstration at his school, Victor decides to try and bring his petn back to life. The short subject was released in 1984. It was honestly a very sweet story, albeit obviously one with a dark sense of humor, but Disney was dissatisfied with the results, and claimed that Burton had wasted company resources on the project. This led to Burton being fired from the company, which only gave him the chance to strike out on his own. Burton had supposedly always wanted the story to become a feature-length film; many years later, he came to Disney with a proposition to try and remake the short as an animated movie. By now, of course, Burton was a household name, and Disney agreed to give the project the go-ahead, provided he also made a couple of other movies for them at their stipulation. Burton agreed, and in 2012, a stop-motion animated feature of “Frankenweenie” was released. This time, Victor was voiced by Gotham’s Scarecrow himself, Charlie Tahan. It followed the same basic beats as the short, but - by virtue of being longer, as well as animated and having the benefits of modern technology - it was able to go much further with its subject matter. Without going into too much detail, in the film version, Victor’s experiments get even more out of hand than anybody could have anticipated. Both versions are very fun and very cute, while also having a delightfully decadent style to them only Burton could bring. I highly recommend you check both out, and pick a favorite for yourself.
Tumblr media
9. David Anders, from Once Upon a Time.
“Frankenstein” was a bizarre choice of story to reimagine in this Disney-based show of family, love, and fairy-tales. However, the series found a way to make things interesting, and while I don’t think the Frankenstein story elements are perfect, David Anders in the role of the obsessed scientist is definitely a winning interpretation. In the series, it’s revealed that Victor Frankenstein comes from a world called “The Land Without Color,” where everything is in monochrome (a reference to the classic Universal movies). His experiments with creating life take on a new dimension, when he decides to try and use his theories to bring back his brother, Gerhardt, blaming himself for his sibling’s demise. However, no ordinary heart can withstand the intense electric energy needed to give his brother life…which is where things start to get particularly unusual. Frankenstein gets roped into a deal involving Rumpelstiltskin, the Evil Queen, and the Mad Hatter (wow, what a trio of characters) to gain a special heart from their own world in the Enchanted Forest. Only the “magic” of that heart is able to function properly and serve Victor’s purpose. The series blends science and magic together in a fun way, seemingly taking on the old idea of Clarke’s Third Law: “any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.” Anders’ portrayal of Dr. Frankenstein was extremely fun, giving the character a more sympathetic bend but also injecting a sort of eerie, icy, creepy composure to him. In the modern day scenes, Frankenstein goes by the alias of “Dr. Whale.” (Another reference to the Universal pictures, referring to James Whale, the director of the first two movies.) By both names, he was a recurring character throughout the series; I only wish we’d gotten more closure on how his experiments really went, or else he could have ranked much higher.
Tumblr media
8. Kenneth Branagh, from Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein.
Released in 1994, this big-budget feature film was a direct response to the success of Francis Ford Coppola’s “Bram Stoker’s Dracula” released earlier in the same decade. While both films have a lot of similarities - generally staying true to the source, but also inventing a few new twists and really hyping up the sensuality of some characters (which I think works much better with Dracula than Frankenstein, for the record) - most agree that Coppola’s movie is the more successful one, and critics and box office records of the time seemed to agree. However, it does have its fair share of fans, and I suppose I’m among them. It’s not perfect, but to be blunt, neither is its “sister film.” Kenneth Branagh both directed the film and plays Victor Frankenstein - not uncommon with this Shakespearean-acclaimed performer. Branagh’s version of Victor has a raw, somewhat manic intensity in his passions, contrasted by the moments where he has to keep it all together and in-check for polite society. The most significant change to the plot is that, unlike in the novel - where Frankenstein never completes work on the Bride for his Monster - Victor actually goes through with the experiment, albeit for his own unique reasons. I won’t go into further detail for reasons of spoilers, but suffice to say, this version focused a great deal on Victor’s tragedy, while still making him the morally and ethically questionable obsessive of the novel. Never has the question of who is the real monster been more shrouded in gray area.
Tumblr media
7. Benedict Cumberbatch & Jonny Lee Miller, from the National Theatre Production.
In 2011, a stage adaptation of Frankenstein was produced by the prestigious National Theatre in the UK. The play is a sort of semi-accurate retelling of the Shelley novel (it follows most of the major story beats, but cuts or slightly alters various elements), and has a lot of merits to it…but by far the most interesting part was the casting of Victor Frankenstein and his Creation. Throughout the run of the show, both roles were tackled by Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller. (Both actors were popular for playing Sherlock Holmes at the time. Probably not a coincidence, though it’s an odd leap to make.) The two performers alternated parts over the course of the show’s time onstage, with Cumberbatch playing Frankenstein some nights, while Miller played the Creature, and then swapping roles the next round, over and over. Two nights of the show - each featuring different revolutions of the two leads - were filmed and shown on various screens around the world. As a stage actor, I can safely say no recording can PERFECTLY capture the beauty of any live theatre show, but at least it allowed folks who never got the chance to see it live a chance to take a peek for posterity. While both actors do an amazing job in both roles, I personally most enjoyed seeing Miller in the role of Frankenstein, with Cumberbatch in the role of the Monster. There was a brusqueness to the way he handled the part that Cumberbatch didn’t quite have; given how the stage version here ends, and what we learn about Victor (I’m not giving it away here), I feel that’s more appropriate to the character. Again, though, both performers are to be commended: if you get the chance, try to watch both versions and judge the performances for yourself.
Tumblr media
6. Ian Holm, from “Mystery & Imagination: Frankenstein.”
In 1968, the UK-produced horror series, “Mystery & Imagination,” made their own adaptation of Mary Shelley’s classic novel. It’s actually one of the few episodes of this show I’ve seen, and of the few I’ve witnessed, it’s definitely my favorite. A big part of the reason why goes to the gimmick the episode used: casting both the Monster and the Doctor as the same person. That person, of course, was future Bilbo Baggins himself, Ian Holm. Before he ever ventured into the Shire, Holm had a long and storied career, playing everything from Richard III and other Shakespearean roles, to a couple of the most famous writers in history, such as J.M. Barrie and Lewis Carroll. It’s perhaps only natural that he would get to play not only Frankenstein’s creation, but Victor Frankenstein himself. Holm does a brilliant job in both parts, and it’s a worthy adaptation overall, mostly following Shelley but with a few unique twists. Holm would not be finished with Frankenstein once this production ended, either; he later played a supporting part in the 1994 film adaptation. I highly doubt this bit of casting was coincidental.
Tumblr media
5. Alec Newman, from Frankenstein (2004 Miniseries).
Alec Newman is a name some fans of dark video games may recognize; among his body of work, he was the voice of Simon Belmont for the “Castlevania: Lords of Shadow” reboot trilogy, and also Jack the Ripper for “Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate.” It’s therefore somewhat unsurprising to learn that, before either of those came to be, Newman played one of Gothic horror’s most famous figures. This two-part miniseries is a highly underrated adaptation. It’s arguably the closest to the book ever made, at least that I’ve seen, as the longer running time and two-part structure allows for not only virtually everything in the novel to be given space, but allows for a few innovations and changes unique to this interpretation. Newman’s Victor Frankenstein, however, sticks more or less true to the source all the way through to the end, in terms of writing and general portrayal. If “definitive” can be taken to mean “truest to the original material,” then he is arguably the definitive version of Victor Frankenstein: starting off as an idealistic and romantic youth, whose passions become twisted as his naivete and rebellious obsessions ultimately lead to his downfall. His health declines, his fortunes decline, but perhaps most importantly, his very soul is effectively despoiled by his own negligence and imprudence. While he’s not the first person most people will think of when they think of the character, he’s definitely one of the most interesting portrayals to date.
Tumblr media
4. Gene Wilder, from Young Frankenstein.
There have been several characters over the years who were not meant to be the actual Dr. Frankenstein himself, but rather his successors or descendants. Examples include Wolf von Frankenstein, the titular character of “Son of Frankenstein,” and Victoria Frankenstein, an upcoming female take on the mad scientist made for Universal’s “Dark Universe” attractions. (Look into that, by the way, seems like it could be interesting…unlike the last time Universal attempted a “Dark Universe” rebranding, but I digress.) However, I left such characters out of the running because…well…they’re not Victor Frankenstein. They’re his sons or daughters or general followers. I made an exception with Gene Wilder’s delightfully daffy Frederick Frankenstein, the title character of the Mel Brooks dark comedy classic “Young Frankenstein,” for one simple reason: it felt like a crime to leave him out of the running. This is mostly because, while the film does state that Frederick is the original Frankenstein’s grandson, the movie more or less follows, beat-for-beat, the familiar Frankenstein story: it takes the story beats we recognize from both the novel and the first two Universal movies and transforms the tragedy and horror into zany, satirical humor. The result is probably one of the greatest horror comedies in the history of movies, with Wilder’s Willy Wonka - I mean, Dr. Frankenstein at the very center of it all. He is HILARIOUS in this movie; I would argue quite possibly the funniest performance of his whole career, which is saying quite a lot. There was no way I could have forgiven myself if I didn’t include him in the Top 5.
Tumblr media
3. Colin Clive, from the Universal Monsters Series.
While the iconography of the original Universal version of Frankenstein’s Monster (and the work of Boris Karloff in the role) cannot be denied, I often feel that Colin Clive’s work in the role of Dr. Frankenstein gets somewhat overlooked. In the first film, 1931’s “Frankenstein,” Clive is really the main character, and gives us a really strong intense performance that actually still really holds up to this day. The Universal Frankenstein is just as obsessive and ethically questionable as the one in the novel, but he’s a BIT less morally problematic. Unlike Victor Frankenstein in the book, HENRY Frankenstein (as the film strangely decides to rename him; the name of Victor is given to another character, for some reason) actually DOES try to care for his Creation and teach him. Henry even defends the Monster for a while, against his own skeptical mentor figure, Dr. Waldman. However, after the Monster commits his first bit of homicide - which was ENTIRELY justified as self-defense, I should add - Frankenstein is led to believe his experiment has been a failure, and feels he has no choice but to destroy his creation. I really, REALLY love Clive’s Frankenstein: he has lines and moments that are just as memorable and masterfully handled as any of Karloff’s pantomime in the first movie. It was also nice to see him return in the second film, “Bride of Frankenstein,” although his role in the sequel is strangely much smaller. You can tell they really wanted to focus on the Monster, realizing he was the moneymaking character; by the time the third film comes around, Frankenstein has died offscreen, and his adult son (played by Basil Rathbone) is in the process of…ahem…inheriting the family business, shall we say? As the man who made “IT’S ALIIIIIIIVE!” such a well-known bit of dialogue, Clive more than earns his place in my top three.
Tumblr media
2. Peter Cushing, from the Hammer Horror Series.
While the ethics and moral standing of both Colin Clive’s Frankenstein in the Universal films, and Mary Shelley’s Victor in the original novel, are certainly up to discourse…there is no such debate with Peter Cushing’s take on the mad doctor. This is the second (and last) Frankenstein on this list, after Tim Curry’s version, who is just straight up EVIL. In fact, I may be wrong here, but I THINK this was the first time anyone depicted the character as an out-and-out villain before, at least in movies. Cushing’s Frankenstein is almost a Richard III sort of character, at least in his first outing of “Curse of Frankenstein.” We actually sympathize with him at the start of the movie, but as the film goes on, he becomes more and more of a dastardly scoundrel. By the end of the movie, even though his Creation certainly does their fair share of murder and mayhem, there is no doubt that Frankenstein himself is the REAL monster. And, like any great monster, Frankenstein seemed almost indestructible: in every single film, he would narrowly escape his own demise, and come back in another ready to try his experiments again. As the films go on, we see Frankenstein’s character change and shift, as he bobs in and out between a sort of sympathetic villainy and just being a cruel, callous, coldhearted cad. By the end of the series run, we realize there really is no hope for the mad doctor: he is lost in own obsession, unable to escape from it, even if he secretly sort of wants to. Never had the warnings of Shelley’s novel been so explicitly elaborated on, and - through good scripts and bad - Cushing carries the role with incredible power, dignity, and precision, his work just as meticulous as the character’s onscreen. While I personally will always think of him as Van Helsing from Hammer’s equally popular Dracula franchise, first and foremost, his Frankenstein is certainly nothing to scoff at, and is still widely considered one of the greatest.
Tumblr media
1. Harry Treadaway, from Penny Dreadful.
On the previous list, I mentioned how Rory Kinnear’s take on the Creature (whom I shall henceforth refer to as “Caliban” for this description) was somehow one of the most faithful to Shelley’s version, despite the story of Penny Dreadful being obviously different from the original novel. I also mentioned that the Frankenstein characters of the series were probably my favorites of the whole show. (This is saying quite a lot, with icons like Dorian Gray, Count Dracula, and - most terrifying of all - Simon Russell Beale in the ranks.) Harry Treadaway’s Victor Frankenstein is not only no exception, he is the epitome: this was my favorite character in the show. Treadaway’s Frankenstein captures the spirit of Shelley’s original version, and mingles it with a number of new ideas and concepts, in a way that is absolutely spellbinding. This version of Frankenstein didn’t give up after his first “failed” experiment, and continues to look into creating life, for various reasons. The relationship between himself and Caliban is one of the most intriguingly twisted in the entire show (which, again, is saying quite a lot), as are his relationships with several other characters. Most notably, this one has Victor not only coming to grips with his own faults and actions, as he is lost in a cycle of poor-decision-making throughout the show, but also has him facing the idea that there are some things science just cannot explain or overcome. It was a great way of bringing the philosophies of a character and their story into a new medium, and it made Victor easily the most fascinating figure in a show filled with so many other interesting, dark, disturbed characters. I have no problems or hesitation whatsoever naming Penny Dreadful’s Dr. Frankenstein as my favorite take on the character. Case closed.
HONORABLE MENTIONS INCLUDE…
Samuel West, from Van Helsing.
As I’ve said in the past, I do have a soft spot for this very, VERY crazy “monster mash” movie. The opening sequence where we see Dr. Frankenstein’s deal with Dracula, and the creation of his Monster, is arguably one of the best parts, but West’s Frankenstein is killed before the 10 minute mark.
Dr. Henry Blackbrew, from V-Rising.
Just like with Adam the Firstborn, this game’s version of the Frankenstein Monster, “V Rising” created their own version of Dr. Frankenstein, and you’re even able to face him as a boss. Very fun, but I just didn’t think there was enough here to give him a slot.
Robert Powell, from Frankenstein (1984).
I mentioned this one on the previous list. This made-for-TV adaptation tries to follow Shelley’s novel in a truncated format, and has a very good cast. Powell does a decent job as the doctor, but the low-budget and untidy script don’t do his Frankenstein any favors.
Augustus Phillips, from Frankenstein (1910).
The very first film version of the mad scientist and his story…though, as I said on the past list, the film seems to misunderstand the entire crux of Shelley’s novel, reinterpreting Frankenstein’s quest for knowledge as more of a Faustian bit of black magic than actual science. Still, credit for kicking things off.

I saw a video a few days ago that left me thinking a lot about Scourge
I don't know if you've seen it, but it was basically Mimic throwing truths in Scourge's face about himself, and as soon as the video started, it was enough for me to think a lot, one simple sentence
"He tries so hard to play the great villain, but his heart was never in it."
I really wish I had an opinion on this but I DON'T AND THAT SUCKS
I can't say if this is wrong or right, but at the same time it's an interesting idea for me
So I wanted to know your opinion on this, on whether Scourge was fooling himself this whole time
I also wanted other people’s opinions😸
- beetle
oooooo bro i have Feelings. About This
"he tries so hard to play the great villain but his heart was never in it" GIRL !!!!!!!!!!!! thats what im SAYING
he tries so hard to be this evil guy. this edgy motherfucker. he wants to be a baddie so bad. but i honest to god believe he does NOT have it in his heart to genuinely be like. Evil
hes got PROBLEMS !!!!!!! he has TRAUMA !!!!!!!! hes got so much shit he needs to deal with and i think what we see is him acting out because he does Not know How to deal with his problems both internally and externally
moebius is obviously not an amazing place. we know this. so i dont think he had access to any sort of support or help for anything he may have been going thru, and the people he surrounded himself with sure as hell didnt help lol
i agree w sonic. hes just a bully. hes not evil, hes just a guy who wants to pick a fight with everybody and take the easy win whenever he can because in reality hes just an insecure coward who doesnt like when he doesnt get his way. hes been hurt, hes been burned, and he thinks he has to take it out on everyone else for some reason. to get revenge? maybe. to protect himself? also likely.
and yknow what else sonic's right about??
it would only take a little bit of selflessness. a little bit of Decency. and he'd end up just like him <3

so why do you like Scourge the Hedgehog? What got you interested in him?
Yo my first ask!!!! Thank you so much for asking me a question, and to anybody else, I'll always be happy to respond to questions you may have about me or my oc's. Anyways, this is gonna be kinda long. ^^'
Long Explanation: So I've always liked Scourge design wise, ever since I was pretty little. Maybe about seven was when I saw him for the first time? I used to mistake him for Manic, but eventually learned the difference. When I learnt he was an Evil Counterpart of Sonic, I was hooked on him. I've always been a fan of AU's, and the concept has been something I loved to write for a very long time. Since I was young, I didn't understand his character, and wrote him in a dumb way when I was younger. Usually as a generic bad boy antagonist in Sonic High School AU's and stuff...
Tumblr media
Later on during 2019, I was bored and decided to read more of the Archie Comics. That's when I learnt his backstory, and I became HOOKED on his universe, and the other Anti Counterparts. I began doing research, and I ended up starting a Gacha Life Shorts Show called The Misadventures Of Moebius on Tik Tok. It's still currently going, and I genuinely have fun writing it. It's mostly just me expanding on Anti Mobius, since the Archie Comics came to an end, and we never got to see many things from the universe. Many of the early episodes are inaccurate to my thoughts on most of the characters nowadays, and how they act. But to be fair, it's my first ever series, and I was only about 12 when I began making it for the first time. And at that point, I didn't even finish reading Archie like a dummy. I basically wanted to make silly shorts with some goofy characters I liked.
Tumblr media
AUGH SO CRINGE AUGHHH. TmT
I appreciate his cool design, and the many writing opportunities he holds. It's easy to see Scourge as all evil, and write him as a cool villain. This is because of his cocky and rebellious demeanor. But it's also just as easy to see him as a misunderstood and not all evil character, which is how I personally see him. I think the idea of him and his father would've been cool to see more of, since obviously Scourge's home life effected the way he turned out growing up. And that if he's with the right people, he could've been just like Sonic! Kind of like an inverse on what he says to Sonic during one of their battles. In other people's AU's he's still a bad guy, but in my own I redeemed him. The nuanced way that people can see his character is a reason why I love him so much!
Tumblr media
Plus, I like how he isn't super crazy like other Archie Sonic Villain's. Sometimes he's just kind of a dickbag, and I always enjoy someone who can be threatening, but also silly. I don't love everything about his character of course, he has some things that I try to forget about with his writing. But that's basically the case for every single character I like from anything ever. XD
Tumblr media
I love this little shit so much. XD
TLDR:I've liked the green goober for a while now, but only since 2019 have I been more public about my love for this dummy. I love the idea of his universe, I like the many paths writers can take his character, and I just think his personality is really fun.
If you're interested, bellow is a work in progress on my Headcannon/AU Scourge that I use in my TMOM Episodes and videos! I hope to draw him, and the other cannon cast more often. And maybe interacting with my Anti Counterparts I made, or original characters from his universe I've built up for five years now. But I'm starting out by just making him a ref page. My next post will hopefully be him, or my next video. ^w^
Tumblr media
I'm making this design for a video! And also just for fun! I can't wait to share the final with ya'll! X3

(please excuse my English I actually speak German) hello, huge Fiona fox fan here I have been reading lots of your rants about fiona, on how her character had lots more potential and that her relationship with scourge is heavily abusive (on which I really agree btw) and since their not many fiona fans here I just wanted to ask you since I literally have no one to talk to. In sonic the hedgehog issue 179 on page 14 sonic says a specific line dialogue that's been driving me crazy. He explains to tails that he hooked up with Fiona hoping that he would move on, but ALSO because he was still getting over Sally stating that "Fiona was there*. Which kind of feels like that even if Fiona had genuine feelings for sonic he would have been still thinking about her. Now I am really wondering could this be a reason Fiona cheated on him, since she felt again like getting burned? We never saw the process of Fiona meeting secretly with scourge, but I heavily theory that A. He could have lied to her at a lot of points and B. That just maybe he could have told her about sonic maybe not truly loving her. Either all of that is true or I'm just going crazy but what's your opinion?
Your English is better than my German, to need to apologise.
You're right about that, while Sonic says his primary motivation for getting together with Fiona was his terrible plan to help Tails, it's also pretty apparent that Fiona is a rebound girl for him. The timing of when the relationship started is much too obvious for that: He and Fiona start their relationship in Issue 155, the same one where Sally's forced marriage to Patch is announced. I have no doubt that this information stirred up all of Sonic's hurt feelings from Issue 134 and drove him toward the course of action he took.
Now, that doesn't justify what he did, what he did is still an awful thing to do to someone, but it does explain it a little better.
I don't think Fiona knew what was going on in Sonic's head during their relationship. If she did, she almost certainly would've brought that up as a point against him, instead of only referring to her traumatic backstory.
(Sidenote: I think her betrayal makes a lot more sense if you reorder some of the stories in the 170s so that Eggman's attack on Knothole comes first, and reopens all of her old wounds. Then it makes total sense for her to snap and accuse Sonic of being too weak- instead of a dumb "I think being good is weak and being evil is strong!" logic that so many shallow villains have, she actually has a point, and an obvious example, that after everything Eggman did to them, a repeat of what Robotnik did to her, the FF still let him go when they easily could've captured or killed him)
That said, I think it's likely that Fiona realised she was a rebound and this pushed her closer to accepting Scourge's advances.
I think Scourge lying to her should be taken as given. Probably about Sonic, definitely about himself. However, I don't think he knew for sure how Sonic felt, simply because Scourge doesn't understand Sonic at all, ironically enough. We can see as much from his attempt at a "One bad day" speech, he fully believes that Sonic is only a bad day away from turning out like Scourge himself did, but Sonic has arguably had a rougher life than Scourge ever did. We've seen him have plenty of bad days and never once has he turned into Scourge.
Scourge thinks everyone is worse than they actually are, in essence. I have no doubt that he presents his flawed perception of everyone to Fiona, why else would she, a character who owes her whole life to the support she's received from other people (first Nic, then the FF) suddenly turn around and declare that "You can't count on anybody?"
It's an idea that fits so little with what we know of her character and history that it more than likely came from someone else, like the known liar and manipulator she's suddenly 'romantically' entangled with.
That said, him not knowing about how Sonic felt doesn't mean he can't tell Fiona that Sonic doesn't love her. He is, after all, a liar, and likely playing to Fiona's fears and anxieties. If he realises that Fiona believes Sonic is using her as a rebound, he would absolutely have agreed with the notion despite not knowing whether it was true or not.
This is part of what frustrates me with Fiona's character: There's the pieces here to make something absolutely fantastic with her, and Archie just... didn't do that. Her existence pre-155 is largely an afterthought, from 155-171 she's "Sonic's shady girlfriend" and then post-172 she's "Scourge's girlfriend", and that's all she's allowed to be. Even her one outing as an independent villain (with her own team, because of course the character who believes you can't trust anyone has immediately gone and gotten herself another team) turns out to be setup for her getting Scourge back.
Whether you prefer her as a hero, villain, or somewhere in the middle, Fiona has enormous potential as a character, and Archie never used it.

I just saw your post about Anti-Shadow and if your willing to hear my ramble about my version of him here you go.
So I have 2 different versions of him: one that is just a straight up villain/anti-villian and one that is "domestic" (I cant find a better word for it right now). I haven't figured him all out but the basic gist is that he's supposed to be the opposite of Shadow so theres a lot of things with him. For both of them they're charismatic, "friendly", and extroverted unlike the Shadow we know. He shares some of the same traits like being manipulative and intelligent but his motives are very different.
For the villain/anti-villain version (Sacred or Somber) is that he's based off the song "Toxic Love" from the movie Ferngully. My idea for this version of him is that he can siphon the anarchy energy off of another person through the use of his inhibitors that he tampered with. His goals is to wipe out humanity and bring a utopia to mobian kind and he has just a little too much fun with it. He would be a mixture of being scared of Scourge but also intrigued by the new energy that he himself can't harness (he would get jealous).
The second version, or Sparkles as Ian calls him, would have the same motives as villain/anti-villain version but way toned down to make a planet where both kinds can live freely. He decides to get things done through peaceful ways that don't include killing others…or well, not killing as much. He's still a formidable foe but he decides to try and find a way to avoid a fight.
Thats all I can think about right now but yeah. I'm still deciding between Sacred or Somber for his name so right now he will go as Anti-Shadow.
why do we all collectively share a hive mind, ohymhof
genuinely, I love the first idea (I’m biased, it’s similar to the ideas I’ve had for my own anti-shadow)
Taking or sucking up or even borrowing energy is such a cool concept, and Scourge harnessing a brand new energy is like dangling a promise of a feast in front of a starving man.
ALSO, I love the idea that AntiShadow wants to wipe out humanity to bring peace to mobians. (I’ll use this as inspo if that’s alright) think that would be tied with Mariam (Anti-maria) like Shadow’s promise to protect the world.
Both ideas could work in a sort of timeline, idk, but I love the idea of Sacred

Came to talk about Iris from your previous ask and how she is lowkey relatable (father issues part) and been wondering about the lore with your versions of Nazo and Seekladoom (no really where do I start? I’m only more familiar with Nazo)-—
Sees your reblog with superscourge.
Oh ahaha, well it was flattering you thought it was me for a second, but that was not me unfortunately. If they manage to top Glaze’s and Frontier’s AUs though I will be in awe and very scared….
I think it’s safe to say we Scourge Fans tend to really hurt the poor hedgehog when we can I suppose. 😅
On the other hand, hope with whatever we’re going through that we’ll both heal from it.
-squeals- I AM SO HAPPY YOU ASKED!! 🖤💙🩵
Okay, I have so much on these two in general, I’m going to try and shorten it to keep things from getting out of hand! Because I’ll be here until 9:00PM the next day if I do- (/hj)
Also, I appreciate you being able to relate to Iris. I try to make my characters at least a little relatable, as we’re all human at the base, no matter what we physically look like. We all share similar feelings, emotions, personalities, and blood colors. Why should we judge on one’s physical appearance when we don’t know their lives? That’s at least how I try to think, even if my intrusive thoughts make it difficult sometimes, I always try my best to make sure they don’t affect my morals and hurt others.
So here’s their physical look to describe them as of now.
Nazo is 21 in this AU. Considerably studious amongst everyone else in the group. (with the exception of mephiles and iblis, because they’ve been around much longer than him in this AU.) His fur and quills are slightly darker in color than how he’s seen in Nazo unleashed, and are arguably more soft and fluffy due to his care routine.
Nazo has this mixed style of Old money, Dark academia, and whimsigoth all in one. Lots of simple yet elegant pieces with lots of accessories. He tends to wear a lot of crystal jewelry when he can, and tends to lean towards gold jewelry rather than silver. As it makes the contrast all the more appealing. That doesn’t mean he does experiment with different styles and designs, as he doesn’t care much about societal standards all that much. He wears what he feels comfortable in, and doesn’t mind the stares.
Despite him being a literal being of negative energy, and still being regarded as a villain by most, he’s considered more empathetic out of him and seelka. We also see him have more morals than most of the other villains you see throughout the story, and that’s due to his ability to sense negative energy in general. (Also through Sonic multiverse mayhem, where Nazo shows genuine concern over seelka wanting to burn down an orphanage, so we know he’s got some sort of morals.) as negative chaos energy Isn’t the only thing he feels, it’s negative energy in general, which includes negative emotions.
This negative energy goes into creating his perfect form, which is still obtainable with or without the chaos emeralds now, he just uses them as a power boost.
He loves classic/dark academia literature and history of humans, the scent of rain and earth when a storm is about to hit, and also likes melancholy type of weather. He loves tea, particularly the more sweeter ones, as he does have a small sweet tooth, and prefers to either stay inside or go somewhere quiet. He prefers solleanna’s cathedral libraries, the ones that are open until the late evenings as he drowns out the world in the great minds of the past. The histories of the world as he sees them form in his head. He also loves classical music, as there’s usually no lyrics to them. If there are, they have no cuss words or slang, innapropriate themes of drugs, gangs, SA, etc. It feels timeless to him, and it helps him relax whenever he is angry, or when he’s in the artistry room in their home, either designing something that came from his head, or drawing something that he saw while out and about.
Seelkadoom is 22 in this au, and is almost the complete opposite of Nazo. While he is also quite intelligent in not only books, combat, and street smarts, he’s also quite loud and brash when in particular groups of people. He’s quite extroverted, and is much more physically active than most of the others!
He loves anything grungy or alternative, this goes for both clothing and music. He loves the smell of metal, roses, leather, and rain. He loves comfort foods like soups, cultural comforts like onigiri, shrimp Alfredo, and just anything that’s warm and soft, warm, and filling. Although he’s not afraid of trying all sorts of culinary tastes from all over the world! He particularly likes music artists like Troy, Johnathan young, etc!
Cozy games from independent developers like lost in random, subnautica, and cult of the lamb are some of his favorites to play. Although he isn’t afraid of loading up overwatch or COD if he’s up for it!
Seelka has less morals than nazo, but not so few he’s considered a borderline monster. Even he has his limits and boundaries, and it’s best to be wise and not purposefully cross them too much, less you wish for death.
Seelka is a night owl. You cannot get this man to sleep at night unless you shove melatonin down his throat, which is why he likes to sleep all day and participate in cool stuff at night!
The only real “family” either of them have outside of the gang is seelkadoom’s creator/father, Dr. Eggman. They actually have a good relationship of father and son, and they tend to still hang around him on holidays.
How do they meet? Well, given the context that Nazo doesn’t die and he isn’t immediately taken into G.U.N’s custody, he’s basically Eggman’s right hand man. He’s the one that’s in control while the doctor is gone doing villian shit as he rests and recovers from the huge fight between him, shadow, and Sonic.
Few days later, seelka comes out of his coma after his fight with hyper sonic. With an itch to fight, he starts heading towards the doctor’s chambers to either get a fight out of him, or figure out where Sonic and shadow are to give them a beating maybe.
That is until the two lock eyes, and then the confusion begins. Who is this guy? Why is he in the doctor’s lab? Is he a friend or a foe? And why does he look conviently attractive?
So after a lot of confusion of the two wondering what the hell was going on, Eggman introduces them to the other and makes them work together.
It’s a slow process, but it’s not like they actively hate each other’s guts. It’s the usual strangers to friends thing with a little bit of awkwardness from Nazo. Eventually he warms up to seelka, and they become good friends.
Then a world pandemic happens, and G.U.N requires not only Dr. Eggman’s assistance, but seelka and Nazo’s help as well.
Then after a lot of soft moments while under G.U.N’s care, seelka finally got the guts to confess to nazo, which leads to a very soft and sweet moment between the two of them!
Once the experiments are done, and the pandemic subsides, Nazo and seelka are both paid generously by the government for their contributions and cooperation.
They both expected to get maybe like, $10-$20k, at most $30k. What they didn’t expect was for Eggman to come out crying tears of joy, showing they have almost $20 million in the bank.
So then Eggman takes on the role of seelka’s dad figure and helps them with the adult stuff. Taxes, bills, credit, investments, etc. In return he ends up being gifted $2,500,000 by the two, allowing him to be able to retire and live his life abroad. Not needing to keep fighting Sonic, as they’re willing to be the ones who cause mayhem for him.
Does that stop egghead? Nope, if anything it helps him get started on his empire! But instead of trying to take over the world, he starts with becoming the leader of a small nation, and start from there. Then he uses the money to invest into the people, the country, everything. Plus, unlike in Sonic prime, he’s actually a good and genuine leader, not blinded by the greed of wealth. As he knows wealth builds in the long run, and if he does it right, the world will be his. He just needs to keep a level head!
However, seelka starts getting bored staying inside all night and sleeping all day in their new home. So he eventually decides to take a shot at a night shift job, and is lucky enough to be taken under the wing of solleanna’s most prominent employer in the entertainment industry, Mary Jane the Cat, or MMJ for short.
She teaches him everything he needs to know about being a bartender and a card dealer, and eventually hires him for the job.
And that’s where they are now in my AU! I’m so sorry it took me so long to make this, school has been wacky, so I hope it’s worth the wait anon!

Darktail
Headcannons: aroace, cis man
Adjusted his proportions so he looks bigger LITERALLY SECOND BEST VILLIAN BEHIND SCOURGE. I inspired his look from old rock bands such as Kiss with the star patterns and extremely frizzy hair Honestly he made AvoS 100x more interesting hands down. I genuinely think there's aspects of him that are even more intimidating than Tigerstar, like at least Tiger he had some decency to not leave cats to starve. Plus Darktail even surpassed his kill count so yeah he put a run for his money like no other villain had

Summary: You escaped the scene, only to have Dabi manhandle you into a corner. He seems troubled, but you quickly realize his anger is not directed at you. No - he's furious with himself and his emotions reach a boiling point. His heart spills over… Contains: Inner Turmoil, Payoff To Pining, Comfort!, Fluff, Spice Light

“What the fuck is wrong with you?”
The phrase echoed against the damp pavement and brick walls. Your heart hammered against your ribs in anticipation. Despite the venom and hatred he had expressed, Dabi had come to your aid when you needed him. While he had been cold and cruel to you before, there was no sign of that same vitriol now. Anger – yes, but it wasn’t quite directed at you in particular.
Rather, Dabi seemed more upset with himself than anyone else.
His rescue had left you breathless and now he was fuming. Stomping his feet like a stubborn child as he paced the width of the alley. You tried to think of a genuine answer to the question rattling around in your mind. Frankly, you also wanted to know what your problem was. And Dabi’s problem for that matter. Something about his stride looked frantic and unnerved. You swore it felt like he was scared to be near you – avoiding your eyes and bitterly muttering to himself. Like he was trying to outrun you without actually leaving.
The thought almost made you laugh. Dabi wasn’t afraid of anything – nothing could shake him like that – and certainly not someone like you. No matter how much you liked to pretend you could have that effect on him, it all seemed a little ridiculous. Still – you couldn’t shake the feeling you were on the cusp of something important.
As for Dabi himself, he hadn’t expected to come and find you immediately when he heard you were in the area. Fuck  – why did he have to be nearby when you were around? He had more self-control than that. That’s what he kept telling himself whenever you were spotted by one of his sources or informants. Jumping at the chance to see you again was pathetic and desperate. But curiosity had gotten the better of him. He had to see you, he had to see for himself how you were doing.
Were you just as miserable without him as he was without you?
Tracking you down had been far too easy. Even taking into consideration your careful nature and thorough understanding of the villain underworld, you wouldn’t have been able to avoid Dabi forever. He had eyes in every faction. Connections with various villain watering holes and mercenary joints were hard to come by, but Dabi had made the effort for the sake of his goals. It’s all about who you know in this world. He had never imagined using it to search for a woman though. Yet here he was – using everything at his disposal to get to you.
Only to then find you grinding on some greasy bastard in a nightclub.
The very sight of you with another man made him want to hurl. Let alone two of them. It inspired an unstoppable sense of violence in his heart. A sudden, burning need to hurt everyone in his path. Anyone who stood between you and him was a threat. A problem to be snuffed out and dealt with. Dabi wanted to claim you like that man had. Wanted to touch you like him, hold you like him and much more. You were a scourge he couldn’t get rid of. The second he saw you in person again he was lost. Desperate to reach out and take your hand.
Despite this sickening obsession still running rampant in his heart, Dabi had managed to suppress the urge to swoop in and take you away. Instead – he had resigned himself to let you be, choosing to watch and wait. The compulsion to seek you out would vanish eventually. Walking away would have been the right thing to do. You didn’t need him. The mistakes you chose to make were your own and had nothing to do with Dabi. Those guys could have ruined you. He shouldn’t have cared. But he did. He strafed back and forth in front of you, mind racing with a million and one questions.
‘Why’ being the most prominent one.
Why did he intervene? It didn’t make any goddamn sense. He should have let you go. You were moving away from him and that very notion brought him to action. This was some weak Hero bullshit. Feet moving on their own accord. Springing to action to save another. Dabi was a villain. He didn’t do that. Why was being away from you such agony? You were just some girl he had met in the midst of all this chaos. A passing interest on his way to bigger and grander goals. Who was he to lay claim over you when he was the one to push you away in the first place? He couldn’t stand it. The way his chest tightened and burned for you.
Every time you looked his way with those pretty eyes, he couldn’t fucking breathe.
“Dabi –” you started, reaching out in an attempt to soothe his frantic pacing. This was the first time you’d seen him so expressive. The guy was clearly going through it, even if he tried to hide how he was really feeling behind an angry scowl. The sound of your voice calling his name so gently was unbearable. It was too kind. Far kinder than he deserved for how he had treated you. Before you could do anything to calm him, Dabi threw his hands up and motioned for you to stay back.
If you touched him now he would break. Shatter beneath these confusing, overwhelming feelings.
“No – no, let me talk. Just listen – I messed up, (Y/n). Colossally. I don’t know what the fuck is wrong with me. You’re everywhere. All the time. I thought that by getting rid of you I could stop feeling like this.” You quietly watched Dabi rattle off his grievances, every word spat out like a resentful confession.
He didn’t want to tell you – but he had to.
With each stride he made back and forth between the walls of the alley, Dabi ran his fingers through his raven hair. Harshly pulling at the strands. You flinched at how aggressively he yanked at them, fingers threading the hair and wrenching at his scalp. Despite how excruciating it may have seemed to you, the action seemed to bring him some kind of relief. It did nothing, however, to slow the unstoppable torrent of words from pouring from his lips.
Honesty was so fucking awkward and painful.
“You’re a fucking nightmare. I burned your things in the dumpster out back but it didn’t help shit. Then I saw you with those guys and I –” He couldn’t say it. Admitting he was jealous meant admitting to something he was vehemently trying to deny himself. Dabi was so close to the truth but couldn’t bring himself to accept it. Couldn’t see what was in front of him. “It feels hot and chaotic and I can’t stop wanting to be near you. When I caught you leaving that day, I just couldn’t let it happen. Instead of talking to you I – ” He paused, tripping over his tongue and thoughts at the same time. “I’m fucking obsessed with you (Y/n) – and I’m sorry.”
Finally calm enough to brave your eyes, he let out a deep sigh and stopped pacing. Dabi felt lighter. For the first time since your falling out, he could breathe again. Even if you’d seen him act so irrationally. Breaking down like that was something he hadn’t done since he was a child. He felt small and vulnerable next to you. Pathetic and weak. But it had to done. You had to know how sick he felt without you. Dabi’s fingers relaxed as he withdrew them from his hair, hands falling to his side in resignation. All that was left was your reaction. Whatever it may be – he would have to accept it. Dabi didn’t even know what he wanted from you, really…
Forgiveness, comfort – did he deserve any of that after what he’d done?
You stood in silence, giving him a moment of reprieve from his own feelings. It clicked into place then. The attraction. The lashing out. The lengths he had gone through to push you away. It all made sense. Dabi might not have realized the gravity of his confession in the moment – but you certainly did.
You stepped forward and grabbed onto his coat’s collar. “Kiss me.”
“What?” Dabi blinked – confused.
Did he really need you to spell it out for him?
“You’re in love, dipshit. Please Dabi just fucking kiss me or I’ll do it for you.”
With your permission given, Dabi’s last shred of restraint was broken in an instant. His kiss was searing and passionate. You squeaked against his lip as a hand grasped the back of your head – pulling you closer. In contrast to your last run-in, there was no malice on your tongue but the taste of desperation had increased tenfold. Dabi felt the difference. Your arms locked around his neck as you stretched to kiss back properly.
You fucking troublemaker.
How had he not seen it? Maybe because Dabi had always considered himself above petty things like love. It wasn’t for him. Vengeance and retribution had been all he needed to stay alive up until this point. Then you showed up. Made him laugh and cared for him when no one else would. Most importantly: you saw right through him, catching glimpses of the boy Touya used to be – and you didn’t look away. If anything, your constant prying was what scared him the most.
Now he realized it wasn’t a bad thing.
You were fearless when faced with someone as ugly and depraved as Dabi – more than that, you loved him for it. He could feel it in the way you kissed him. The warmth of your lips. The quiet, gasping moans that poured from your mouth as he pushed you up against the wall – your legs wrapping around his waist as he hoisted them up. It was more than proof enough that you were serious about this. The fact that you wanted this as much as he did was both relieving and terrifying. As was the realization that you were right.
He was in love with you.
His fingers dug into the skin of your thighs. Dabi marveled at how tender the flesh was. Soft and delicate, perfect in every way. He pulled away to catch his breath – azure eyes eagerly tracing every inch of your blush-dusted face. That enchanting view was something Dabi never wanted to forget. You were gasping, eyelashes fluttering as you attempted to come back to your senses. The weight of your lovely, strong thighs tensing around him was driving him insane. He’d wanted this for so long and didn’t even realize it.
You were fucking intoxicating and he couldn’t wait to get a proper taste.
However, as much as Dabi wanted to shove you behind the nearest dumpster and make this official, this wasn’t the most sanitary place to take his cock out. With no small amount of reluctance and chagrin, he set you back down on the pavement. Wanting to commit the scene to memory, Dabi rested his forehead against yours and admired the adoring look in your eyes. Love was a beautiful color on you, he decided. Something he could definitely get used to. And he would have to.
All of this still felt incredibly foreign, but for you, he was more than willing to try his damndest to make this work.
Dabi needed to say something – anything to fill the silence before you changed your mind about the whole thing. He finally had you in his arms and the fleeting thought that this was temporary caused a spark of panic. “Toga misses you.” he said, cringing as soon as the words left his mouth.
You could have said anything but that, idiot.
Just barely managing to muffle the noise with your hand, you barked out a laugh into your palm. “Toga, huh? Does Toga want me to come home?”
“Yeah…” Dabi smirked and kissed you again – a quick, affirming peck on the lips. “And me too of course. Most importantly me. Me and fuck everyone else honestly. I don’t really care what they want but I’m guessin’ they’re gonna be happy to see you. Don’t worry about Shigaraki. If he throws a fit about you leaving I’ll torch the place to hell.”
You grabbed Dabi by the chin, giving it a playful shake as he snapped his teeth at you in retaliation. “Easy on the arson, hotshot.”
Dabi couldn’t help but grin at the palpable affection in your voice. Fuck. He’d missed this. It had been so long since you’d talked to him like that – he’d almost forgotten what a little shit you were. A precious little shit, though. His little shit. The thought made his heart race. You wanted to be with him.
Willingly and unapologetically.
“So are you gonna take me home, or what?”

A/N: We needed this. Sorry for the wait (: Confession scenes are hard. Especially when Dabi struggles to accept what he is confessing to. But we're here. I hope you enjoyed this chapter, darlings <;3

Flynn always did have a fetish for turning sonic into a shitty cheesy superhero (even as far back as Archie), just that this time he decided to go all the way
Hell, I'd argue he took Joker's quote from The Killing Joke out of context. The point was that Joker is full of shit when he says it would only take one bad day for Batman to turn into a villain, because he then goes on to describe his own past as "multiple choice," thus weakening the premise of "one bad day."
Some might claim Sonic called Scourge's bluff in a similar manner in issue 196, but the difference here is it took multiple issues before that happened, whereas Batman called Joker out on his shit in the same conversation. Meanwhile, we're meant to ponder the moral quandary seriously. And that's before you consider the fact that Moebius as a general concept genuinely does cast doubt on the notion of free will. If everyone is born evil, so to speak, how can you exactly break bad? Does it really take "one bad day" to make one murder their father? Lol okay Jan Scourge.
Not to mention the book later disproves its own premise, so Sonic has no reason to nurse self-doubts in this regard anyway. He was in fact, quote, pushed to "his limit" in issue 175, suffering his "one bad day," and he acted nothing like Scourge in that moment.
Scourge flees like a little bitch when confronted with a bigger threat. Sonic just goes Berzerkermode.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Batman points out Joker's agency playing a bigger role than his "one bad day." Although he might be a victim of circumstance, Joker's looking that so far past in the rearview mirror that it no longer matters. He made a series of choices to wreak havoc, the choice to shoot Barbara Gordon, the choice to strip her naked and take photos of her to humiliate her father, so on and so forth.
It doesn't matter what kind of uwu sadboi backstory he gives to explain his actions because he's always changing it in order to squirm out of the consequences.

The sad and most frustrating thing about Leopardstar's Honor (and other recent books tbh) is that the Erins seem to be under the impression that a POV character can't be antagonistic or evil or wrong because since these are 'kid books' they all have to be 'role models' or 'relatable'
Which is such a bizarre writing choice to me. Because we have characters like Clear Sky who in any other point of view is 'hate that guy; he's the Worst' but in his own or his brother's is 'poor sad guy; he doesn't /want/ or /like/ being mean' 🥺🥺🥺
It ends up being such a disservice to fans of antagonistic characters. Villains were some of my favorite characters to watch growing up but I never tried to emulate them and if I was a kid, reading the books, I think I'd be a bit upset seeing Leopardstar, Onestar, Blackstar and so on being 'defanged' so that they could be better protagonists :/
Silly spiel aside, I'm happy you're almost done with the book and can proceed to never look at it again
they managed to tell coherent stories with mapleshade, tigerstar, and scourge....so im just inclined to believe that the reason it's written this way is because the authors genuinely do not recognize leopardstar as being bad that she is not just a good person at heart who was mislead but someone who was just as complicit and corrupt as tigerstar. i feel like if the authors saw her as a villain, we'd have gotten a much different story....
probably a better story too, there is no reason she needed a whole super edition. the recapping is mind-numbingly boring and anything original is infuritating or retcons to sandpaper leopardstar down into a boring shell of her tpb self.
i literally cannot recommend this book, just go reread the first arc if you want a good female antagonist

hi we need to know mor abouet tinyfrost plz
I'll start by saying I never expected Tinyfrost to get as much love as he is - I mean, I know people love Scourge (who is probably my favourite villain of the franchise, fighting for that spot with Sol and Mapleshade), but I was really unsure how people would take 'Tiny is taken in by Thunderclan and becomes a warrior'. I don't worry too much about how people like/dislike my changes (I assume people like them given they're taking the time to write to me!), but it's definitely one of the more out-there changes I've made. (It's hard to say what the most out-there take in my story is, but I think Brokentail having a son is probably the first that comes to mind.)
All that aside, Tinyfrost is such a fascinating little gremlin to me. Part of the reason why he's so angry in the first book was because he was passed over for an apprentice, with grumpy old Patchpelt and the young daring Mistspring both getting apprentices instead of him (Plus Tigerclaw lackey Darkstripe, but at least that one he could blame on Tigerclaw). Worse, when he did end up getting an apprentice, it was a kittypet - and Bluestar threw it in his face that he was, and always would be, an outsider. Hasn't he proven himself by now!? What more does he have to do to make Bluestar understand that he isn't a kittypet, was never a kittypet?
And, certainly, he has reason to be angry, but I think that a lot of his problems also have to do with himself, and he just doesn't realize it.
For instance - there's not really a single cat in the Clan that would genuinely call him a friend. Bluestar was his mentor, and to a degree his foster mother, but they both know she'll always see him as a little apprentice. Lionheart and Goldenflower were apprentices alongside him, and they're both friendly with him, but they would also both agree he's generally very withdrawn from them and doesn't talk to them much. Whitestorm is probably the closest to him, being Bluestar's former apprentice as well as very patient, but even he would admit he just doesn't know much about Tinyfrost.
Were there cats in Thunderclan that shunned him? Absolutely. Tigerclaw being chief among them, but both Bluestar and Sweetfeather were very careful to watch Tigerclaw whenever he came near Tinypaw - same with Adderfang. Most of them were just standoffish, not really sure how to handle him, and he took their distance as anger and hatred. Even now, with Tigerclaw and Darkstripe exiled, I think he would still say most cats in the Clan hate him, but that's really not true. The closest to hate he'd get from anyone in the Clan is Patchpelt, who would call him a squeaky little runt - but he'd also refer to most kittens like that, and I'll just say that he doesn't actually hate kits, he's just not good with them (a trait, funnily enough, that he shares with Tinyfrost).
It probably shouldn't have fallen to Tinypaw to bridge the gap between him and the Clan, but he also didn't help by actively making that gap wider. Here's a tidbit for Tinyfrost stans to enjoy - he doesn't sleep in the warriors' den with all the other warriors. No one (except maybe Bluestar) knows where he goes to sleep, not that anyone really cares enough to follow him. There's nothing that says a warrior has to sleep in the warriors' den, and he's always in camp whenever he's needed, but every cat in the Clan thinks it is strange - and they rightfully perceive it as him not wanting to associate with the Clan. Likewise, he only catches his own prey - he never takes from the freshkill pile. Again, there's nothing inherently wrong with that, but generally refusing to eat with the rest of the Clan is definitely another hallmark of his perceived distaste of Clan life.
Would things have been different if he did make an effort to partake in Clan activities? I don't know. It's hard to say. Maybe he still wouldn't have gotten an apprentice until Firepaw, and maybe he would have been more actively hated by the Clan instead of welcomed as just another member. Still - no one in the Clan had to actively hate him and isolate him, because he actively hated and isolated himself.
There's poetry somewhere in there.

Can you draw the three main human in transformers cybertron? They're such a silly companions for the autobots :33
Also I'm going to introduce their friends too.
Morris-the part of the moon/the head maiden of the operation: 0
A Girl who's 12 yrs old, whom can also transform into a cat she's the one who's in the plan of operation: 0 made by nomi, the finsternis's daughter. (Trust me, morris doesn't trust that daughter of the monster but she had to in order to returned lovely's memories) She has a calm and gentle (fake) personality, she's in a relationship with kumu (the son figure of miho rei ayumi) and she also have a little sister, Sunny the part of the sun.
Morris has only genuinely feelings for kumu, because he understands her more then anyone. Morris slashes both of her eyes for kumu's safety, for everyone's safety infact..
Sunny-the part of the sun/the second-head maiden of the operation: 0/a man-eating demon
A girl who's 100 yrs old (mentally 12 yrs old) eat humans in the past (100 yrs ago) and have killed her sister, and has been executed by the village. She was once envy of her sister, and still now. She's intelligent and can be strict to keep the main three human (Koby, lori, bud), before the invasion from starscream and his monster decepticons that he has woken them up on earth. She was saved by lucy Suzuki and later on, she saw her as a mother figure. She silently vowed to protect her no matter what, she's responsible caretaker to nomi. Sunny has no romantic feelings for anyone whatsoever, she's aroace.
She also hate the sun more then anyone, even though she's part of the sun.
She wished that she could've been born as Suzuki's first child.
Ayoku ku-theFormal wraith's minion/the follower of the plan operation: 0
A Boy who's 100 yrs old and has a bottomless stomach, he has a greedy personality for food he see (which are now wraiths, he used to ate misha in the head in transformers enegron) and he has a little brother, named: kumu and they don't get along. Ayoku tries to protect him from dangers which made him the danger instead. (He's also the son figure of miho rei ayumi) of course, he know kumu miss miho and so does he. He has no romantic feelings for no one, he's aroace.
Kumu-The formal wraith's minion/the follower of the plan operation: 0
A boy who's 12 yrs old, he's the most respectful and shy person. He was used as a weapon for miho rei ayumi (transformers enegron to transformers enegron: the bell) and he's in a relationship with morris, sure they don't get to talk much but they still have feelings for eachother, he's the only person who can see Morris's big genuinely smile.
He missed miho, his mother figure, but he's no innocent and think that she'll come back.
Also here's a fun fact about lori, she met a person who's named dolly and is a maiden of finsternis. Dolly has killed humans and put on a big smile when she's happy, dolly will not be ashamed that she admit loving lori. Lori wanted to save her villain but failed, but she know that she couldn't save her anyway..
"are you at peace, dolly?" -Lori
Oooohh this is all very cool, and nice that there’s aro/ace characters! Don’t see a lot of representation there
And, I won’t be drawing the human cast for today, and probably not for a while sorry 🙏
I was tempted to draw my versions of the characters from my au but I don’t have those designs just yet and I’m working on other stuff so :°P But I want to draw them at some point, like Lori interacting with Scourge and/or Override because they call her little sister (they’re siblings yay!!)
I love the relationships of the human characters in the show, like Bud with the minicons is adorable, and Lori with her older siblings or Coby with…Landmine or Hotshot? See idk with him, with my version he has a mentor student relation with Red Alert
Anywho, maybe some day I’ll share the dumb au but not now lol
