Dark Horse Comics has allegedly harbored a boundary-crossing, biting problem for 20 years — a problem named Scott Allie. And at San Diego Comic-Con this year, Allie apparently managed to assault a comics creator who is not willing to remain silent.

Allie, who was the Editor-in-Chief of Dark Horse Comics until September 11th, assaulted two people at a party during the convention. We’ll get to the SDCC incident in a moment, but before that, we should discuss the fact that Allie’s behavior there is not a one-time thing. Certainly there are people who make mistakes while drunk and do not deserve to be penalized for a momentary—and singular—lapse in judgment. Allie, however, has allegedly made such a habit of this behavior that there have been jokes about it internally at Dark Horse for years, although no whisper of it traveled much further than that. He was particularly known for two things: out of control behavior while drunk and biting.

The biggest reasons why Allie’s behavior didn’t travel further are pretty complicated. In the comics industry, there’s a very us-against-them attitude amongst many of the publishers. When you’re part of the team, you are expected to put that team first – even to the point of ignoring bad behavior. If you stop ignoring that behavior and make the mistake of speaking up, well, you’re not part of the team anymore. You’re a problem. You might remain on staff, but you’ll be frozen out while the person you reported continues on their merry way, eventually making the environment completely unbearable for you and for others. This sends the message over and over again that people who are one of the gang, no matter how badly they behave, are valued above people who refuse to ignore harassment and assault.

"I don't," Gem said, hopelessly. Impulse placed a supportive hand on her shoulder.

"Then maybe you should be over here." Pearl made the simple sentence sound like a threat.

That was part of what had drawn Gem to her. She was sweet as anything, but she was also dangerous and unpredictable and refused to be restrained.

And she was fiercely loyal. Gem's eyes focused on Pearl's hands, resting on the sword in her belt. She hadn't drawn yet, but she was ready.

Gem knew it wouldn't work, but she tried anyway. "Maybe you should be over here."

"Well, this is a dilemna, isn't it?" How could she sound so cold? Did this not hurt her the way it hurt Gem?

"You could join the band, Pearl," Scott spoke up.

Pearl gave him a glare that dripped with history. "No. I'm Mounders for life."

Scott frowned, but didn't say anything. He took a breath and turned his attention to another one of the men across the battlefield. "Scar, remember who gave you a sword? Who was your best ally this time? I think you're standing on the wrong side here."

The dark-haired man fiddled with the blood-stained petals of a flower on the fringe of his poncho. He gripped his sword with his other hand, but looked uncertain. "I..."

Gem heard the sound of a crossbow being tensioned, and her hopes evaporated.

She got her shield up in time, the shower of sparks exploding across its wooden surface. The others weren't as lucky, the explosion grazing Impulse and engulfing most of Scott's wolves.

Gem looked across the battlefield over her shield. It wasn't Pearl that had pulled the trigger, but she didn't look surprised. Her face was set in grim determination as she pulled her sword free and dove down the hill. Joel was loading another rocket into his crossbow. BDubs gave the reins a crack and his horse dove into action.

Gem waved her Scotts to follow her, gave one last look at the woman that she loved, and set off at a run towards the cherry mountain.

Ok doing this with Evil Knight because this is my house and if I talk about my OCs unprompted if I want to

Only gonna do questions that I think apply to his particular character and story in general, so if u think some question not answered, then it's probably not relevant to the world with giant skeleton centipede roaming the land in search of the feast.

Anywho

1) he's pretty much living dead with a passion for the mission, but he wouldn't mind to suddenly lose all hope and collapse in one place for a month and act dead for a while. I mean, he's dead all the time, but acting dead is something he's not doing often.

3) as living dead, he doesn't sleep, so closing his eyes and not moving probably counts as sleeping?

4) 5) there are no stakes in betraying anybody in this story, as majority of characters are either dead, divine in nature or otherwise in the position of not caring for any consequence of being betrayed, so everyone is pretty straightforward with each other

6) legal laws are non existent, laws of physics are stretchy for the plot, and laws of nature are something that is broken, twisted and defied by the premise as a whole. Evil Knight's mission is to bring laws of nature and life into order of how they were before dead started walking.

7) his whole mission is based on wanting back the world of the old you could say, but he doesn't exactly feel nostalgia for it. He rather feels disdain for the current shape of the world, and is angry at the fact that the dead won't stay dead. So in that regard, just having to face numerous undeads just like him is triggering more and more of that disdain, that people who were people before Everything, now are just pawns in hands of Big Bad.

10) his most prominent lie is "I'm fine". How fine a corpse that spits out purging liquid can be?

12) his body is always clad in armor and only his left hand has exposed skin, so he doesn't deal with itches. I'm not sure if he gets them anymore. I'm not sure if it's itchy when your skin is stuck in a constant state of decay.

15) his speech and voice is gurgly, bubbly, gasping for air and failing to clear throat. He speaks what usually is on his mind, but has the wits to know that silence is also a valid option.

16) I'm not sure that in a world of walking corpses he still has something that disgusts him so much (or even has a stomach to be turned), but Trust and Believe, there is one thing that makes him puke his guts out quite literally.

17) 18) no, he isn't. If he's embarrassed, he'll admit it in a straightforward manner because it's easier to tell what's going on rather than pretend that he isn't. What embarrasses him is people being too soft. He understands that being loving and caring is what we should strive for, but in his current reality, being soft is not an option. Hard men make easy times, true love only possible in the next world, all that jazz yadda yadda. You can't kill god reanimator if you're not willing to be a bit cold and ruthless about it.

34) the only thing he's guilty of is not being able to discern between living and dead, although it's not much difference anyways these days, as one becomes another whenever the Voice feels like calling to them

35) he's intrigued to see someone still be excited for something in this world. You could say he's interested in observing people be interested.

37) he always remembers unless he needs to be a bit confused for a wee laugh of an audience (forgets the spell that undoes all evil)(fucks it up)(puts his hands to his forehead and sticks out his tongue cutely)

38) of waking up for the first time once again. he was looking up at the night sky, which was clear for just this moment. He caught a glimpse of numerous stars and planet outlines shine in the darkness of the night, until the second later it was overshadowed by smoke plumes from nearby corpse bonfires. Just for that one, very first moment in his new life, when he didn't know what he is or what he's awoken to, he felt peaceful.

39) he couldn't care less if it's something that he doesn't consider a flaw, but if it's something that he does, then it's a personal offense and he will keep a sideye just for you at all times.

40) couldn't care less. Flawed or not, his whole being is what got him thus far, and he's not gonna start rebuilding himself at the risk of losing that winning factor, whatever that may be.

41) he would be horrified to know that there are still children around after all of That. This said, while he doesn't knowingly encounter any, there are Implications.

42) any price is low enough to pay it. Until the Implications.

43) he has 5 meter cock and he's not afraid to use it. Jk. No sex. There is no sex in this story!! Maybe gender! And pronounces! In a way that you might say "oh god she just tore his fucking head off" and thatse it.

Book Review! Star wars the Clone wars vol 1 “The Defense of Kamino”

The book Star wars the Clone wars vol 1 “The Defense of Kamino” was published on July 9th 2003 by Dark Horse comics and was written by John Ostrander, Haden Blackman, and Scott Allie. The novel was made in conjunction with the Star Wars the clone wars 2003 micro series, the novel was made to further add to the clone wars story that was being created for the first time in order to serve as a bridge between the second and third movies. Unfortunately since the book is considered part of the micro series it is not considered canon in the star wars universe as well as the rest of the micro series. However it is considered to be part of the legends version of star wars canon and is still referenced by the star wars community in discussion of the legends version of star wars lore. The novel is well known for its introduction of the famous Alpha and Null class ARC Troopers which were some of the original clones created as prototypes before the commonly and widely created normal clone trooper. Without going into spoiler territory the novel does a fantastic job presenting these elite arc troopers for the first time and does an excellent job portraying them as top of the line super soldiers who in all likelihood could change the course of the war on their own. Furthermore the drawings in this book do an excellent job of painting the arc troopers in an even greater light to demonstrate their superiority to normal clones as the novel draws normal clones to be somewhat muscular but not enough that it would affect their armor. The novel draws the arcs in a way to show they are physically stronger by giving them armor with outlines of their enormous muscles to give a look of super strength that would rival the strongest men on earth today. This novel was so well written and was so impactful that it was adapted by Dave Filoni into the Star Wars the Clone Wars Series and became one of the most prominent and highest rated episodes of the entire series. In my opinion I wish this book were considered cannon as it is incredibly well written and adds some of my favorite characters to the series being the impregnable and elite arc troopers. However that will sadly never happen.
