Yes exactly!Imultiship Harmione with a lot of people and I would have been fine with her and Harry ending up together since they had real chemistry(at least movie wise) and I could see why they would be together long term and re-watching the movies they really did Rony dirty but even then Romione is so cringeworthy especially in the Half Blood Prince.(cont)

Poo Astoria was also done so dirty like they had a chance to actually show her as a real character and not as a footnote(she wasn't even given a name in the epilogue that's how much JKR cared also make her a muggle born but I guess this would have been. too much of a redemption for Draco and we can't have that) but instead we got this incredibly sexist SL where she and Draco have Scoripous so he't not alone(?!)and she's used as a plot device to show how sad Draco is wthout her ughhh!!!

I have to say though it's amusing to me how Draco is actually a better father than the trio. Like Albus grows to have these insecurities and wanting to prove himself to his father(IMO him and Draco would bond so easily after all he's going to be his father-in-law one day,IMO sorry you can't convine me Scorbus weren't gay for each other ok?!)while Rose is this popular judgmental Mary Sue at least Harry tries to be a better dad at the end while we get an idea what a child of Romione would be like

Btw,it slipped my mind but what do you think about the claims that Draco could never compromise/give up his pure blood beliefs/is too cowerdly for Hermione? don't want to use it as an example but the Cursed Child proved that's not the case and even if we do ignore it while kjr was def biased against Draco(and Slytherin in general) back then she painted him sympathetically later plus people ignore he was just a kid and was condiitoned to believe the things he did and it's not easy to break away.

Yeah, it's sad that they decided to kill off Astoria. I don’t mind that she is a pureblood, but from what we know of her she sounds amazing and I’m glad that Draco was with her, she really did help Draco and they sounded like they were truly in love! It’s typical, isn’t it? The male character gets his full redemption arc at the demises of a close female character to him. A typical trope in books and movies.

I’ve never read CC, and don’t intend too, but I was pissed when I heard that Harry was a horrible parent! We saw and read in the epilogue that he is great and what 2 years later he does a 180 and now he is a bad guy to his kids? Ridiculous! And is Rose really a Mary Sue character? Ugh, so many fanfic authors end up creating their Hermione as a Mary Sue, and I don’t like it! Now the guy who wrote this book does that to Hermione’s daughter? More evidence that CC is really a fanfic (well technically it is isn’t it? A JKR approved fanfic!).

Draco basically denounced his pureblood beliefs when he married Astoria. His parents hated her! And didn’t want him to marry her, but he did anyway. They raised Scorp to be better than them. So clearly he did give up that and happily did so!! So of course he would do the same for Hermione (in a fanfic).

How Love Hurts - Chapter 6.2 - by Alinda

They’ve been in line for the Louvre for hours. Tourists are everywhere. Draco has counted the different languages he’d heard, by now he’s at 6, but it might even be more. He’s never that good in hearing the difference between all those Scandinavian languages. Draco knew it was a bad idea to try to visit the Louvre during summer break, but Scorpius had wanted to go. As a late birthday field trip or something. He was so excited and Daphne was all up for it, said she hadn’t been in ages. So now they stand in line, waiting and waiting. There’s no way they going to see most of the art today, it’s already past midday and they still haven’t made it inside.

“Are you okay?” Daphne asks when Scorpius is absorbed by something on his phone. “I know you talked about coming here with Harry.”

Draco shakes his head. Did she really have to bring him up? “I’m dealing with it. Today is for Scorp. I’ll cry myself to sleep again tonight.” To memories of a conversation about taking all the kids with them to France during the summer holiday, to see Paris and visit Disney Land. Harry had been excited and Draco had named all his favourite places they could go to.

Daphne nods. “You’ve changed since Tori died.”

Draco looks at Daphne. Her eyes are fixed on Scorpius. “I’m sorry,” Draco says. Sorry for killing Astoria by having a child with her, sorry for never truly loving her in the first place, and sorry for taking up space in Daphne’s house because he’s terrified about staying in Britain.

“Don’t be. It’s a good chance. Being out has done you good,” Daphne answers. “You’ve become more open. I finally see what Tori saw in you. The kindness and love you have to give, it’s good to see that you’re not afraid anymore to show it to the world.”

Daphne smiles at him and Draco smiles back. It does him good to hear that Daphne sees that he’s trying to do what Tori told him. Draco knows for sure she would be proud of everything Draco accomplished in the last two years.

“ And Harry, he was good for you,” Daphne continues, “made you less uptight. I’m sorry it had to end this way.”

“So am I,” Draco says. He doesn’t want to think about Harry now. He wants to keep it together. Scorp really wanted to see the Mona Lisa and if Draco falls apart right now, they will never make it inside.

“How’s your clothing line doing these days?” Draco asks Daphne to change the subject.

“Oh, you know. The usual. You shout help out on the next shoot. You’re way better at taking pictures than most of the idiots that run around Paris with a camera.”

Draco laughs. “Maybe this year I’ll stick around and help you out some more.”

Daphne leans against Draco and tells him she will hold him to that. Draco places his arm around her shoulders. Scorpius looks up at them. “Dad, if it wasn’t so obvious you’re gay, people would think you two are dating.”

“Oh, it’s obvious now, isn’t it?” Draco says offended. Really, it’s not like he has a mark on his forehead that says he’s gay.

Scorpius and Daphne both laugh. “It kind of is Draco. I’m sorry, but that kid of yours is right,” Daphne chips in.

Draco pouts and lets go of Daphne, the traitor. “Fine, it’s obvious I’m gay. My apologies for finally just being me. I will go back to being a closeted frustrated man.”

“Please don’t. I like you better like this, dad,” Scorpius shouts straight away. Draco almost laughs to see Scorpius so freaked out. He shakes his head and pads Scorpius on the shoulder. There is no way he’d go back to hiding who he really is, not now he knows his little family likes him better like this.  

“You like me better as a depressed old man that fled the country when his relationship ended. Yeah, I like myself better like this too,” he tries to joke but it comes out bitter. Draco closes his eyes for a second and fights the tears that threaten to fall from his eyes.  

“Draco, you’re allowed to grieve,” Daphne says with a concerned voice. She places her arm around Draco’s waist and leans into his side. “You lost two people you loved dearly in less than two years. I think you’re comping amazingly well,” Daphne continues.

“So do I, dad,” Scorpius says. “You’re here, having fun with me, instead of hiding in your studio like you did just after mom died.  And you know. I think that somehow it will all work out. You and Harry love each other. Once the thing with Albus’ mom is settled he’ll be back in your arms in no time.”

Draco gives a small smile and then turns to look the other way. Scorpius is so sure that everything will work out and Draco doesn’t want to crush his hopes. But he knows better. As long as Lily isn’t off age, Harry and he won’t get back together. Ginevra will never stand for it. So Draco will just have to try to live his life without Harry. It should become easier over time, shouldn’t it? That’s what all the experts say at least. There is no point in hoping that Harry will still want him once Lily is off age. She’s turning 14 this fall, so it’s three and a half years until she turns 17. Three and a half years for Harry to find someone else that will love him with all their heart, someone that will get the approval of Ginevra. So it’s better for Draco to just give up on it now and try to move on. Astoria always believed there was happiness for him somewhere out in this world. Maybe he’ll find it in Paris. They call it the city of love for a reason, don’t they?

“Don’t give up just yet, Draco. If Scorpius can be positive, so can you,” Daphne whispers in his ear.

“Easier said than done. Ginevra holds all the cards and there is nothing I can do to change that.”

“Astoria believed in you, so start believing in yourself. Harry loves you and you love him. I’m sure you two will find a way back to each other someday.”

Draco nods. He’s happy when they finally reach the entrance of the Louvre and go in. Scorpius drags Draco to all his favourite paintings and tells him all about how his mother used to love to tell him about the painters and the lives they lived. It helps Draco to not think about Harry for a little bit. And maybe that’s the start of battling this broken heart. Just to think of him a little less each day while moving forward.

•Julien; Julien is like a brother or cousin to Pancho! He trusts the king more than anything after Julien basically saved .. well himself, but also him. any scheme Julien comes up with that he knows Maurice wouldnt approve of, he’ll go to pancho

•Maurice; maurice has a kind of wary vibe around Pancho ever since Pancho suggested eating him on the sub in exiled. he’s suspicious of him mainly because he wants to protect Julien tho, & he cant shake that Pancho is (or was) a sleeper agent programmed with the sole purpose of killing his best friend so

•Clover: Pancho is kinda cautious around clover since she’s always round the corner ready to bust him & Andy’s schemes. when it comes down to it they DO work together as they aknowledge each others skillsets. literally pancho is the only lemur (from the kingdom) who’s beaten Clover in combat. just once though.

•Mort; Pancho just......aknowlegdes his existance. he’s there i guess. doesn’t find mort as terrifying & creepy as the average citizen but Panch has probably seen worse. or he just doesn’t care. mort also does crimes so theyre just aware of each other.

•Becca & Abner; he’s kinda friends with them cus Andy’s friends with them. he goes round to deliver them stuff sometimes like moonshine or weapons from Andy. He probably shouldn’t pay too much attention to their government conspiracy theories though, they tend to really freak his paranoid ass out

•Timo; Timo is scared of Pancho or at least wary. He admittadly would like to study him tho & Panch is often a great help to him doing manual labour for any of Timo’s big projects

•Masikura; she mindmelded with him once & swore never again. she just doesn’t wanna know.

•Ted; Ted has a lil crush on Pancho (he’s one of Ted’s many crushes) & Panch will lightly flirt with him sometimes when he’s in the mood to. Pancho will bicker & grouch with him but they are really tight friends especially after their time together during exiled.

•Dorothy; at first she saw Pancho as this ideal bad boy type, but then realised how bad he smells cus he hates bathing. She’ll offer him tea like she does with everyone & (begrudingly often) lets him crash with her & Ted when they all stumble back drunk after a night out. Literally her & Ted both just have a mutual crush on Pancho is that not canon though

•Willie; despite being mean to Willie like EVERYONE ELSE IS Pancho and Willie are quite good friends. He’ll go stay with him whenever he’s worried about something cus he knows Willie will understand. sometime’s he’s too panicky for Pancho to be around though cus it sets him off

•Hector; I WANT THEM TO BOND OVER MILITARY HARDSHIPS & EXPERIENCE I THINK IT WOULD BE HELPFUL & HEALING FOR THE BOTH OF THEM! I should write about this sometime..........

•Horst; the DJ friend who he can always have a crazy sesh with; they actually get along pretty good. except when Pancho’s out here stealing his bolos. Like with everyone, Horst just rambles to Pancho when he’s drunk.

•Tammy, Butterfish & Todd; no real connection to them besides that him & Butterfish will often do the same jobs. They usually just make casual work chat. Tammy thinks Pancho is posessed by demons but he doesn’t let that phase him.

•Karl: he’s not rlly a “kingdom citizen” but he’s about there enough so. anyway Pancho just doesn’t treat Karl like the evil genius villain he portrays at all, since Pancho’s own morality is in the grey area, which kinda infuriates Karl that Pancho just talks to him like hes a normal person. he wants Julien’s people to FEAR HIM!!

•Dr. S; Absolutely not. they don’t even really have a friendship of any kind & Pancho is terrified of going to see the doctor as Dr. S literally experiments on lemurs...he’s not about that after what happened with the previous king.......Andy often has to drag him to the hospital kicking & biting to get him to go to checkups

•Nurse Phantom; u know what they’ve never interacted in canon but I think Nurse Phantom senses how troubled & anxious he is & takes a lot of time to talk to Pancho like if ever Andy or anyone else manages to drag him to the hospital, Rob will hold his hand if it comes to it; he goes into major helpful mode like offering him fruit & telling him he’s gonna be alright. He’ll also scold him for getting into so many dangerous scrapes & tells him he’s gotta look after himself!

Andy

•Julien; for some reason Julien just refuses to exile him even after all the bad shit he’s done BUT i think that’s because Andy is overall helpful to him like he ignores all the weirdness for example when they walked in on him & that rat holding a body wrapped in leaves because hey! we need tropheys Andy fast! thats the issue here!! perhaps its Julien’s awful adhd memory though & he just genuinely forgets. Julien is close with Pancho of course so Andy’s been round to the plane for parties & dinner as Pancho’s +1 of sorts— heck even he can be “polite” when he has to be.

•Maurice; Momo hates him. hates him hates him theres no turning back. i mean its hard not to when most of the citizens suffer from rediculous lemur stupidity & ur the only one who can see through this bat when he’s just standing there chatting shit. Very suspicious of Andy— plus he just thinks he’s creepy

•clover; LMAO bUT .....like obviously she hates him for good reason. but i do have this hc that’s way too long to write out that after Julien, Maurice & Mort literally fucked off to go with the zoosters in madagascar 2 Clover was literally responsible for two kingdoms cus she couldnt just leave them with a gecko in charge. I just want some situation where theres a proper twist & Andy ends up mellowing the hell out & actually being useful to her & the kingdom...he has skills but he uses them for nefarious reasons. She’d probably save his life somehow in the post-Julien chaos & he’d b like....”why would YOU of all people save ME?” n she’d b like... “well you are technically a citizen of this kingdom and ....i’ve gotta make sure you’re ALL safe for when ..... if King Julien ever gets back.....”

•mort; ??? sometimes theyre legit business partners. Mort can get in on a good scam. that second rub’s gonna cost ya. theyve probably been in the same prison before at one point. Mort’s so old.

•Becca & Abner; his fellow anti-establishment pals!! he doesn’t fully believe all of their ideas & theories but he loves em cus they’ll always buy self defence scorps off him. They get along & they drink a lot together by the stagnant watering hole. they’ve seen Andy in horrible states; all 3 of them are an idiot squad when theyre together. Becca & Andy argue a lot cus even she thinks some of the things he says are wack sometimes

•Timo; i have this hc that Timo, Andy & Karl knew each other when they were kids they kinda bonded together during school cus they were three non-lemur losers who got bullied for their eccentricity & varying levels of intelligence. Timo will sometimes go to Andy for stuff but he is his last resort really

•Dorothy; rlly wild hc actually that Dorothy used to be a propper crime don before she settled down with Ted— or when Ted was shifting into Snake more frequently back in the day for whatever reason—so Andy knows her from the criminal underworld. Cus of this he’s very respectful towards her... he’s seen what she’s capable of

•Willie; Andy could walk round the corner with his wings outstretched & say “boo” & Willie would pass out from shock. He’s also very easy for Andy to sell to- his fearmongering really works on Willie he’s very suseptable to it

•Hector; Hector doesn’t take any of Andy’s crap he’d probably just hit him with a broom if he came round his hut to sell him dodgy hand cream honestly

•Karl; like with Timo i hc he knew him when they were in highschool—! Karl found Andy infuriating & so annoying though & didn’t consider him a friend at all. a lot of his early lazer guns were born from Karl’s growing need to shoot Andy out of the sky cus he’d fly up to get out of reach of his claws when he’d annoyed him.

•Dr. S; i hc that Andy and Dr.S are business or trading partners of sorts but they keep it very lowkey. Andy probably handles hits and the crazy snake doctor requires bodies and “test subjects” for his manic experiments. Andy is the perfect guy for the job! When Nurse Phantom is unable, Andy will hide the evidence of Dr.S’ malpractice for a reasonable fee, of course. He dislikes going to checkups himself though— he doesn’t like people knowing too much about him! Plus Dr.S always “””jokes””” about “””studying””” him because he finds the fact Andy is a flying mammal facinating & talks about using Andy’s wings to create a frankenstein flying lemur.

Albus is shy about dancing. Scorpius initiates the proper stuff, Albus initiates the silly stuff.

Despite how much he insists that he loves Albus, Albus deep down still believes no one could ever love a freak like him. It hurts Scorpius so much that Albus was hurt in ways that forces him to believe that no one could ever love him.

Careers

Teddy Tonks-Lupin: He starts as an Auror to follow after his mother, but his Hufflepuff kindness kicks in. He can't stand to even think about having to kill someone in the absolute worst scenarios. He finishes Auror training to prove to his family that he can do something to make Tonks proud of him. Instead of becoming an Auror, Teddy is offered a job of teaching Aurors-in-training. James Weasley-Potter: James also plays professional Quiddich. He follows it a lot like Dominique— only a few years and just for the fun of it. They're actually teammates. Albus Weasley-Potter: Serious and seldom Al goes into the Ministry like his aunt Hermione. He even follows her steps into the law program. He works his way up in the ranks, and loves it.

Lily Weasley-Potter: Sassy Lil Luna goes into the Auror office in the steps of her older cousins Rose. Rose has always been her role model. During her time there, Lily helps her cousin Molly edit her manuscripts. Lily retires at thirty three.

Scorpius Greengrass-Malfoy: Scorp goes into the Healing professions as well. He loves caring for others in an opposites way from his father. Scorp works strange hours, but Rose does as well. At first, Scorp is the one who puts his job on pause to raise kids. Then, Rose raises the youngest out of her office at the Auror office.

Lara Lovegood-Scamander(OC): Lara, the oldest of the Scamander children, gets the Quibbler passed down to her. She is the editor-in-chief when her mother retires to just write the occasional piece. Lara grew up writing small articles for the magazine, but she mainly just keeps her employees under control and approves the pieces to be run.

Lorcan Lovegood-Scamander: Lorcan spends a few years with his brother to do research to continue Newt Scamander's legacy. They follow many of his steps around the world, and publish weekly stories in The Quibbler about their adventures. They also publish a book through the Quibbler about their research.

Lysander Lovegood-Scamander: While taking a long break from his relationship with Lucy Weasley as they both pursue careers, Lysander travels with his brother to write articles for the Quibbler and later a book. He and Lucy end their break when they're both back in England. They both take full time jobs with The Quibbler.

Alice Abbott-Longbottom: Alice, along with her long term boyfriend, joins the Auror force. She loves it. The adventure and mystery of the whole job keeps Ali so intrigued. When the time to take time off to raise children, Alice takes off only the minimum to have the baby and recover. Her husband James, however, quits the Auror force and is mainly a stay at home dad. Alice is forever grateful to him for that. She loves her work.

Maddie Abbott-Longbottom: Maddie has a baby girl less than a year out of school. Shortly after that, she's a divorced single mother of a young daughter. Maddie, unlike her sister, isn't the working type of girl. She takes on work from her mother at the pub. Maddie leaves the most of the working to her husband.

Nathan Abbott-Longbottom: Nate takes over the pub from Hannah. He loves running the business on his own and is extremely dedicated to the place. Hannah is proud to have her son take over the family business.

How Love Hurts - Chapter 2.7 - by Alinda

“Fuck, fuck, fuck,” Draco curses. He slams his hand against the wall in front of him. The flames in the heart light up again and Draco takes a calming breath.

“Dad?”

Draco stares at the wall in front of him, he takes a deep breath and turns toward the door.

“I just need, I’ll see you at dinner,” he stammers.

Scorpius’ hand grabs his arm, forces him to stop. “Dad, talk to me. What’s wrong?”

“It’s nothing, Scorp. I’m just being stupid.” Draco rolls his shoulders, tries to relax. He closes his eyes and takes another breath. He can see the shaking, the trembling of Harry’s arm, the pain in his eyes. It forces Draco to open his eyes again, but he can’t unsee it. Can’t pretend it doesn’t hurt to see Harry like that. Fucking Merlin, why did he think he could just be his friend? It was a stupid idea to begin with, and now it’s just plain crazy.

“Dad, you know that I know you love him, right? You don’t have to hide it, not from me.”

Draco looks at Scorpius and wonders when his son got more grown up than him. Maybe he can talk about it with him, tell him what Harry’s trembling arm reminds him off. That it was one thing his mother was never able to hide. Just like the scars and the unexplained pains. But he can’t. Scorp won’t be able to keep that from Albus. It will only make everything worse. Draco knows. He remembers the cuts his mother had after he had told his father to leave her alone.

“It’s okay, Scorpius. Really, I’m fine,” Draco lies.

“No, you’re not. Stop lying to me. Do you think I don’t see how you look at him? That I can’t see how much it hurts you to just be his friend. Dad, I’m not blind.”

“I know you’re not,” Draco whispers. He wishes that was all that was hurting him right now. No, he can deal with being in love with a straight married man. Even though it gets harder the better he gets to know that man, the more he gets to see what a devoted father he is and the more he finds out that his heart really is made of gold. No, what really breaks his heart is to know that Harry isn’t happy.

“Then stop trying to hide it from me. Please dad, I rather see you hurting then not see you at all.”

Draco pulls Scorpius against his chest. “I’ll try. It just doesn’t come easy for me.”

Scorpius looks up at Draco and takes a step back, moving out of the embrace.

“Mom said you pretended to be straight because your parents wouldn’t approve. That it was a pure-blood thing, the need to continue the bloodline.”

“You and your mom talked too much about something I was supposed to hide from you both.”

“Yeah, you maybe shouldn’t have married mom than. Like you were ever able to hide anything from her. She could see right through you.”

Draco smiles. It’s been a while since they talked about Astoria. Draco never knows if it’s okay to bring her up around Scorp. He knows the boy still misses his mom like crazy. Draco does too. She would have known what to do with the whole messed up mess he has gotten himself into with Harry. It’s only been a couple of weeks since the day in the park, when Harry had leaned in, his eyes locked with Draco’s. And Draco had wanted to close the gap so badly, place his lips on Harry’s and finally find out what it would feel like to kiss that man. How it would feel like to kiss someone you are really in love with.

Draco looks back at Scorpius who looks at him like he’s mad. Draco gives him a questioning look.

“Dad, you are hopelessly in love, it’s weird. You never were like that with mom.”

Draco knows it’s different. Astoria was his best friend, his compass, not his lover. He never wanted her like he wants Harry. And then Scorp’s words from earlier come back to him. How his mother had told him that Draco had pretended to be straight for the need to continue the bloodline, and he knows he needs to set one thing straight before he can end this conversation.

“I hope you don’t think I only married your mother because I needed to produce an heir.”

Scorpius shakes his head. “No, I know you loved mom. Maybe not in a way a normal couple loves each other, but I know she was special to you.”

“She was. I don’t think I would have managed to become the man I’m now if it hadn’t been for her. Somehow, she always knew what it was I really needed.”

“Yeah, she was great.”

They stand there, looking at each other. Draco sees the tears form in Scorpius’ eyes, sees his features fall.

“I miss her, dad. I really miss her.”

“I know, Scorp, I know.” Within seconds Draco has his arms around Scorpius again. He holds him close while he cries. He’s even fighting his own tears. His own words echo through his mind: ‘She always knew what it was I really needed’. Followed by some of the last words she ever spoke to him: ‘Then tell him. Promise me you will within the next twelve months. Don’t forget your promise.’

“Fuck.”

“Dad?”

“She fucking knew it would come to this.”

“Dad, you’re making no sense. What are you talking about?”

Draco sits down on one of the chairs around the small table in the room. He places his head in his hands. Scorpius sits down next to him. Draco can’t look at him.

“Tori pushed me to make a promise to her, on the night she died.” Draco chokes up a little. Scorpius leans his head against his arm in support. They never really talk about that night. Or the morning after. It’s all a big mess of tears and screams.

“I couldn’t understand why it was so important to her. Why that was what she wanted to talk about just before the end.”

“What did you promise her?”

“I promised her to stop acting like I was straight,” Draco confesses. “I promised her to be true to myself.”

“Is that why you told me you are gay only days after mom died?”

Draco swallows and tries to hide the tears in his eyes. That was the hardest conversation he ever had. Even though Tori had told him that Scorp already knew, to say it out loud to him, confess to him that he never had loved his mother the way he was supposed to, it was terrifying. But he had to do it if he and Scorp were going to survive with just the two of them.

“Partly. I also wanted you to know the real me now that it was just the two of us.”

“I already knew, but it was nice to hear you say it. I am really proud of you, dad.”

Draco pulls his head out of his hands and lets Scorpius slide against his side. Astoria had always said Draco would need his son more than he needed her, and maybe she was right about that too.

“She also made me promise to tell Harry I love him.”

“Wow.”

“Nothing wow,” Draco says while he gets up from the chair. He walks up and down the room. “You know this can end the friendship between you and Albus, right? If he doesn’t take it well, he will force Albus to stop being your friend.”

“You really think Albus’ dad will do that? Dad, your delusional. Al’s dad is too much of a sweetheart to ever even consider hurting Al.”

“And how am I delusional? You know Albus his mother hates me already, hates it that you are her son’s best friend. You really think they will just let it slide when I tell Harry I love him.”

“Yes, dad, he will. And I’ll tell you something. Albus’ dad won’t mind at all. He will be flattered and maybe tell you he doesn’t feel the same. But he’ll still be your friend. And he will most defiantly not try to take it out on Albus or me. It’s not like him at all.”

“I know,” Draco whispers. “I just… I don’t know if I can tell him. Now there is the dream that maybe he could feel the same. Love me back one day. Once I tell him, and he tells me he doesn’t see me that way. Fuck, Scorp, I won’t be able to pretend anymore.”

“Dad, pretend is just pretend. It will never become real if you keep quiet.”

“It will never become real either way.” And that’s it, isn’t it? The fear that Harry will never feel the way about Draco as he does about him. The fear that Draco will never find the happiness Astoria wanted him to find because he’s in love with a man that isn’t his to love.

“You promised mom.”

“Yes, I did.”

“You can’t break your promise, dad. Not if it was important enough for her to have you make it on the day she died.”

Draco nods. He knows Scorpius is right. He stops his wandering through the room and sits back down on the chair next to Scorpius. He rests his head on the table and let the tears fall.

“Promise me you won’t break your promise, dad.”

Draco knows he can’t say no to his son. That Scorpius is right, he made a promise. A promise he never should have made but did anyway to make Tori happy in her last moments on earth. And now his son knows and there is no turning back. He’ll have to tell Harry. Even if it means losing Harry for good.

“I won’t, I promise. I’ll tell him. Within the next month. Even if it’s the last thing I do. I will tell him.”

Scorpius lays his head down on Draco’s back and slips his arms around Draco’s waist.

“It’s all going to be alright, dad. I promise you that. Somehow it will all be alright.” Draco wishes he could believe that.
