What if everyone in the world vent vegan? Either for the sake of a healthier lifestyle, to alleviate animal suffering, or to fight global warming – everyone found their own reason to say “no” to a juicy burger…a fluffy omelette…or a cheesy pizza. Your local butcher would have to find another job. And so would millions of farmers. They could start growing more crops, or restoring forests. But on a large scale, rural communities that used to supply you with milk, eggs and meat would face significant unemployment. Developing countries who built their lives and trades around livestock would deal with major economic disruption. But everyone would become a little bit healthier… Or would we? Adopting vegan diet doesn’t automatically make you a healthy eater. Vegans often miss out on vital nutrients. They often don’t get enough calcium, iron, vitamin D, zinc, vitamin B12 and omega-3 fatty acids. Since meat, eggs and cheese would no longer be served as a perfect source of protein, you would have to eat a lot of soy, beans and lentils. But with a proper diet, we’d suffer less from coronary heart disease, stroke and diabetes. Global mortality rate would drop by up to 10%. En este bloque he encontrado la narrativa que voy a utilizar en mi Paisaje de Aprendizaje. Al principio no tenía ni idea de qué hacer porque me resultaba muy complicado encontrar algo que pudiera atraer a todos mis alumnos. Es la primera vez que incluyo una narrativa en una unidad didáctica. En el curso, nos facilitaron la herramienta del mapa de empatía, que me resultó muy útil.

A medida que lo fui rellenando, me fui dando cuenta de que lo más importante para mis alumnos es su grupo social, sentirse aceptados por sus iguales. Y pensé en todas las veces que me preguntan si tengo Instagram. Así, se me ocurrió la historia. La narrativa de mi Paisaje iban a ser las redes sociales. A medida que mis alumnos vayan completando las tareas propuestas, irán ganando followers hasta convertirse en verdaderos influencers. 

Como nos pidieron diseñar unas insignias, se me ocurrió que los alumnos que completen las actividades obligatorias con un 7 o más, ganarían como seguidores a Albert Einstein y a Greta Thunberg. Aquellos que consigan un 7 o más en al menos cuatro tareas, conseguirían la insignia Top Influencer. Comparto mis inisignias, que diseñé gracias a Makebadges.

Para diseñar mi paisaje, lo primero que hice fue diseñar la imagen de fondo utilizando Canva. Como el tema de mi unidad es la ciencia y el medioambiente, se me ocurrió llamar a mi red social Sciencegram. Como veis, a los amigos que han subido stories en Sciencegram también los he diseñado con Makebadges, aunque he colado mi avatar. ¿Adivináis cuál es?

Por último, me abrí una cuenta en Genially y mi paisaje fue tomando forma. Aunque es cierto que es la parte del curso que más he disfrutado, también ha sido la que más esfuerzo y trabajo ha requerido. Es bastante fácil utilizar la aplicación porque es muy intuitiva, aunque como era la primera vez que la utilizaba he tenido algún problemilla, se me ha borrado alguna pantalla que después he tenido que repetir... cosas de novata. Pero ya tengo mi paisaje, que espero que os guste :)

In 1960, David Latimer planted a tiny garden inside of a large glass bottle and sealed it shut. He opened the bottle 12 years later in 1972 to add some water and then sealed it for good. The self contained ecosystem has flourished for nearly 60 years. For those who are wondering how this is even possible: the garden is a perfectly balanced and self-sufficient ecosystem. The bacteria in the compost eats the dead plants and breaks down the oxygen that is released by the plants, turning it into carbon-dioxide, which is needed for photosynthesis.
