Gishwhes Schwag Shwop Info
As we inch ever closer to the opening of the Gishwhes Schwag Shwop, I just wanted to take some time to share some info on the shop that you may not know if this is your first year or you haven’t purchased anything in the past. Just a few of the questions that people seem to ask in the groups every year. (Please also bear in mind that I don’t work for Gish/ know anyone who does. I’ve just been participating/gathering info for many years. As such, some of this info may change when the shop is opened.
The shop is usually open for about a month. We don’t know when it’ll open exactly, but going by past years it could be any day now! Before it closes, a countdown will appear on the shop page, Gishwhes will send out emails warning about it, and they’ll also announce it on their various social media pages.
In addition to giving you swanky mementos of this year’s Gishwhes, purchases from the shop also help to support Random Acts. From the ‘About Us’ page on this year’s June Shop:
“A portion of the sales of the Schwag Shwop will go towards the financing of random acts of kindness all over the world through the non-profit Misha founded, Random Acts 501c3. Purchases here are not considered charitable contributions to Random Acts or any charity and are not tax deductible. Staff members of GISHWHES serve on the Board of Directors of Random Acts and are in compliance with Random Acts’ Conflict of Interest Policy.”
Items rarely run out, and if they are a limited supply they should say so in the item descriptions. When stock gets low, text (usually red) will be added to say how many remain. Something along the lines of ‘Hurry! Only 89 left!’
Check the size charts before you order- there should be one for each garment. You’ll be able to see it with the other pictures on the item’s page.
The login used for the shop is different than your Gishwhes login- the two sites are separate. You do not need a Gishwhes account to purchase from the shop. You also cannot log in to the shop right now- currently only the store owner can get in.
Shipping- This is the big one people manage to forget about or miss info on every year! Most of the shop items aren’t made until after the shop is closed- they wait to see how many are ordered before they place the order from their suppliers. Because of this, shipping often doesn’t begin until October or November. (This is also when they start sending out registration tier items) This is listed on the info page for each item, in the shop FAQ, when you select your shipping, and in your confirmation email. So don’t panic when you don’t receive your items right away! They’ll let us know when shipping begins, and they both email and update the text on the ‘the shop is closed’ landing page with info as it becomes available.
Where your package will ship from depends on where you are. US orders ship from California, and International orders ship from the UK. You’ll be automatically redirected to the correct shop site when you go to the page. If for some reason you can’t choose the correct country when you order (for example, you’re traveling or purchasing for a friend in another country) you can email the shop support and they’ll make sure the shipping address is correct.
Because shipping is delayed by them having to, you know, make it all, the shipping method you select will not change how quickly you receive your order. So always choose the cheapest option!
Try to remember that though they begin shipping at one time, not everyone’s packages will go out at once. Gish gnomes are volunteers, not an Amazon shipping warehouse. There are a ton of orders placed each year, and it will take them a while to get though them all. I think last year mine came mid- to late December. It’s tough, but try and be patient!
What order do they ship things in? The best we’ve been able to figure is that smaller orders go out first, which makes sense if you think about it. Not every item will arrive at their warehouse/fulfilment center at the exact same time. They don’t split orders into smaller packages. So, for example, if they get the coffee table books in first, they’ll send out every order that was just coffee table books to free up space. Then, when tshirts arrive, they’ll send out orders with just shirts or just books and shirts. And so on and so forth.
Occasionally, there are issues with items you receive. A shirt may be the wrong size, something may be missing or have broken in transit, etc. The shop gnomes are very good about finding solutions! Simply send them a polite email with as much info as possible (your order number, what’s wrong, pictures if that’ll help, stuff like that). It can sometimes take them a few days to get back to you, especially towards the weekend or holidays, but I’ve never once been dissatisfied with them. Best customer service I’ve ever dealt with. They’ll get you sorted!
So yeah, there’s a little Schwag Shwop primer for you. I think I hit most everything, but if I forgot something or you have any other questions, feel free to ask!

It was in the GISHWHES Schwag Shwop a couple years ago (I think the 2017 hunt). I needed a good slouchy beanie, and it was double bonus good that it was reminiscent of the ace flag =). This and my sock monkey hat are about all I wear during the winter.
Want to go running, but it’s 10F with a negative wind chill.
Sunshine in the winter is so misleading.

116. Image or Video. Not many people know this, but the Kessel Run was actually a foot race. Let’s see at least 5 Star Wars characters competing in the Kessel Run in a shopping mall.
Edited to add the exciting news that this submission was used in a Gishwhes ad for the closing of the Schwag Shwop!

GISHWHES Schwag Shwop Re-Opens!
In case you missed it yesterday, the official GISHWHES Twitter page Tweeted a cryptic photo hinting that something would be coming our way today. There was a lot of speculation about what might be coming, but now, e-mails have gone out to some of the top tier GISHers announcing the GISHWHES Schwag Shwop is having a sale! In the e-mail. Misha Collins says, “The shwop has opened its doors one last…

The Schwag Shwop is open!
But not so fast! Check your email and junk mail first- gishers are getting a one-time discount code for between 5% and 45% off to use in the shop. The % off is based on your gishpoint tier- the higher your tier, the higher your discount, so make sure to get your code before placing your order!
In addition, we’ve seen some reports of the International site being glitchy, possibly something with the redirect not working correctly. If you can’t select the proper country or change the size or style of any of the shirts, try the following:
1. Go directly to the proper shop site.
USA: www.shop.gishwhes.com
International: www.store.gishwhes.com
2. Try using a different browser, switching to mobile, or switching to a computer.
3. Turn off your adblocker
This year’s wares include the coffee table book, a water bottle, a slouch beanie, a bag, a mascot enamel pin set, and four shirt designs.
A new feature- all the shirt designs can be purchased as a tank top, women’s or unisex t-shirts, or as a hoodie!
The shop will be open until October 11 or 12 (depending on your time zone). Keep an eye on that countdown clock at the top of the page!

ME earlier today: Oh cool, GISHWHES schwag shwop is open... buys a coffee table book, because you just have to... and a keychain, because I want to show that I did survive GISHWHES 2016. That’s all I really need. I need nothing else.
ME tonight: You really don’t need a plush slangaroo... kinda thinks I really need a plush slangaroo. *wallet says no* Ugh, buys two plush slangaroos... WHY?! *because you gotta*
