Diesem Streitthema widmet sich GOTT, die Verfilmung des gleichnamigen Theaterstücks und Buchs von Ferdinand von Schirach. Ausgangspunkt ist die Aufhebung des Verbots der „geschäftsmäßigen" Sterbehilfe durch das Bundesverfassungsgericht vom Februar 2020. Es geht um den Fall eines 78-jährigen, kerngesunden Mannes, der sein Leben durch ein Medikament und mit Hilfe seiner Ärztin beenden will. Nach der erstmaligen Ausstrahlung konnten die TV-Zuschauer ihre Stimme online und per Telefon abgeben. An der ARD-Befragung („Abstimmung“) nahmen etwa 546.000 Zuschauer teil. Sie beantworteten die Frage: „Unter welchen Umständen darf man einem Menschen helfen, sich das Leben zu nehmen? Muss der Staat selbstbestimmtes Sterben ermöglichen? Soll Herr Gärtner das tödliche Medikament bekommen?“ zu 70,8 % mit Ja, zu 29,2 % mit Nein.

Göring would commit suicide.

Rosenberg was hanged.

Dönitz received 10 years in prison.

Funk recieved life, but was released early due to health problems.

von Schirach received 20 years and served his full sentence.

This thing always fills me with sadness. It shows you people just goofing around, while they carry around those damn flags under which so many people died. (like not those specific flags but you get it)

Wonder how many of them died in the war, or if they survived and saw what crimes had been commited with the symbol they once carried around.
