Author Update - New url & content!

I just wanted to let you all know i've updated my url from missscarlettangel to scarletttries . I picked my first url when I was a teenager, deeply obsessed with Castiel from Supernatural, but now my writing has moved past that and more into me just trying lots of things - but i'm still Scarlett and I'll still be posting my usual fics :)

One of the reasons I'm changing my url to match my Ao3 is to make it easier for people to look up my writing. This is because over the last year I've been writing a book! My first original novel, a love story of course, and now it's finally finished and I'm starting to look into the publishing process! Obviously that's a very hopeful long shot, but I hope as people who already enjoy my writing, you'll consider supporting my book one day!

But for now, I've got some Roman Roy and Adrian Chase headcanons coming this weekend, thank you for sticking with me :)

OP I hope you know this post changed my life - I just finally bought myself a rice cooker ❤️🌸☀️

you're in the habit of denying yourself things.

if someone asked you directly, you would say that you love a little treat. you like iced coffee and getting the cookie. you drink juice out of a fancy cup sometimes, and often do use your candles until they gutter out helplessly.

but you hesitate about buying the 20 dollar hand mixer because, like. you could just use your arms. you weren't raised rich. you don't get to just spend the 20 dollars (remember when that could cover lunch?), at least - you don't spend that without agonizing over it first, trying to figure out the cost-benefits like you are defending yourself in front of a jury. yes, this rice cooker could seriously help you. but you do know how to make stovetop rice and it really isn't that hard. how many pies or brownies would you actually make, in order to make that hand mixer worthwhile?

what's wild is that if the money was for a friend, it would already be spent. you'd fork over 40 without blinking an eye, just to make them happy. the difference is that it's for you, so you need to justify it.

and it sneaks in. you ration yourself without meaning to - you don't finish the pint of ice cream, even though you want to. the next time you go to the store, you say ah, i really shouldn't, and then you walk away. you save little bits of your precious things - just in case. sometimes you even go so far as putting that one thing in your shopping cart. and then just leaving it there, because maybe-one-day, but not right now, there's other stuff going on.

you do self-care, of course. but you don't do it more than like, 3 days in a row. after that it just feels a little bit over-the-edge. like. you can't live in decadence, the economy is so bad right now, kid.

so you don't buy the rice cooker. you can-and-will spend the time over the stove. you can withstand the little sorrows. denial and discipline are practically synonyms. and you're not spoiled.

it's just - it's not always a rice cooker. sometimes it is a person or a job or a hug. sometimes it is asking for help. sometimes it is the summer and your college degree. sometimes it is looking down at scabbed knees and feeling a strange kind of falling, like you can't even recognize the girl you used to be. sometimes it is your handprint looking unsteady.

sometimes it is tuesday, and you didn't get fired, and you want to celebrate. but what is it you like, even? you search around your little heart and come up empty. you're so used to denying that all your desires draw a blank.

oh fuck. see, this is the perfect opportunity. if you had a mixer, you'd make a cake.

Author's Update: It's my 9 year anniversary on Tumblr 🥳

This was very funny timing from Tumblr - I started writing fanfic after my university boyfriend broke my heart, and I was living alone for a summer in my gross student house, working a shitty internship, and generally feeling really quite lost. I was reading Castiel fanfiction faster than others could write it, so decided to try and make some of my own - and I loved it!

Flash forward nine years, and this weekend I got married to the man of my dreams, surrounded by amazing friends, and now I'm in a home I love, excited to start a new job soon, and I'm back to writing fanfiction! I still love it, and I'm even starting to write my own fiction book that hopefully one day I can share with you all 🥰

I don't know who needs to hear this, so in case it's you: Things will work out. Maybe not in the way you expect, and maybe not without a bunch of horrific shit happening first, but one day you will wake up feeling happy, and realise it's because you have every reason to be ☀️🩷

So until then, keep trying, keep reading and writing, and keep going 🌸

And normal fanfiction posting will resume this weekend with some Steven Grant and Roman Roy content 😉 Enjoy and thank you for the support!

Scarlett's Wedding Event

If you've been following me for a little while and have been reading my author's notes, you'll know that I'm getting married in a few weeks time! (Not to Adrian Chase, but he will always be my close second choice) 🥳

As I'll be having quite a busy week I decided rather than try and find time to write some full fics to share, I'd do a little follower inclusive event: Ship Requests and Wedding Headcanons 🥰

From today until the 10th July please send in a little description of yourself and what you like, what your dream date is like, if you've thought of anything you'd like from your own wedding, which genders you are attracted to, and a show from the below list you'd like shipping with, and I'll write a little ship and headcanons for you to be shared over the weekend of 15th July! Shows/Characters are:

As someone who has been watching / reading One Piece for 15 years (and who is going to be lost when it finishes 😭), I’m so pleased that the Live Action has introduced more people to the One Piece world. I was in a really dark place when I first started watching it and as dramatic as it sounds OP helped save my life. It gave me some light back and I cannot describe how much the series means to me.

Do you think you will ever start the anime and/or manga?

I am just so pleased that you like it. And try to avoid any spoilers if you can!!

I like the idea of starting the anime now that I've finished (and really enjoyed) the live action version, but I feel like I always hear that there are like 1,000 episodes and that feels like such an overwhelming task! I wouldn't know where to start 😄 but that certainly doesn't mean I won't watch some of it eventually, and it will mean even more when I do thanks to your message lovely anon 🌟✨

Author Update

Hi everyone! I know I've been a bit quiet on here since the New Year and thank you to everyone whose been sharing my fics and chatting in my inbox anyway 😊 I've been having a really difficult time at work this year, and I found out last week I'll be losing my job soon.

It's going to be a bit scary and stressful, but it does mean I'll have a bit more time for writing while I'm out of work, and this blog means a lot to me so thank you to everyone whose been reading so far!

So if you want to send me any requests on Peacemaker, Succession, Moon Knight, Stranger Things or Ted Lasso then please do and hopefully i'll be sharing a lot more in the next few months. All my fics will always be free but if you can ever afford to send me a few pennies it would also be incredibly appreciated at this time :)

i love reading your fics on here but im so glad you have an ao3 too!

just a heads up about tagging on ao3, the format for tagging a ship uses '/' instead of '&'. i noticed some of your fics were tagged like 'adrian chase & reader' 'eddie munson & reader' but the & is usually more for platonic fics. its ok to still tag that way! but people will have an easier time finding your fics there if you also use 'adrian chase/reader' 'eddie munson /reader'

this isnt meant as critique btw! just letting you know cause ao3 tagging system can be confusing at first <3.
