Summary:
My name is Scarlette Melody. I was born on Earth, and pushed into a statue outside my high school. I woke up as a unicorn in another world! A pony named Princess Celestia found me. I explained my situation to her, and she let me stay at her castle until the portal re-opened, but I like this world a lot more than my old world. I became friends with Celestia's star pupil Twilight Sparkle, and I was sent with her to Ponyville for the Summer Sun Celebration, where I met familiar ponies. I had never met them before, but they reminded me of my friends at school in my world, even sharing the same names and personalities! We soon became became the Elements of Harmony, and I'm the element of Empathy.
**AO3 & Wattpad links in masterpost pinned to the top of the blog**
Rarity, Pinkie, Applejack, and I finally finished helping Twilight reorganize her books, and she sighs as she places the final book in its respective place on the bookshelf.
She says, "Last one. Thank you so much for helping me clean up all these books, guys. It was a crazy week of studying."
I say, "I haven't seen you that focused on your books since we were in Canterlot. It's good to see you so sociable nowadays, though."
As soon as the words leave my mouth, Rainbow Dash crashes into the library through the window, the impact throwing all the books we spent all day sorting on the floor around us.
Fluttershy pops her head through the window, cheering quietly, "Rainbow Dash, you rock! Woo hoo." She gasps at the state of the library, asking, "Did my cheering do that?"
I ask, "What were you cheering for? Is Rainbow trying a new trick or something?"
Rainbow nervously chuckles, saying, "Not exactly. Sorry about that, ladies." She turns to Fluttershy, angrily saying, "That was a truly feeble performance."
Fluttershy says, "Actually, it wasn't all bad. I particularly liked it when you made the clouds spin."
Rainbow rolls her eyes, saying, "Ugh, I'm not talking about my performance, I'm talking about yours. That feeble cheering!"
Twilight asks, "What are you two arguing about?"
Fluttershy asks, "Were we arguing? I'm sorry."
Rainbow grunts, saying, "I wish you guys could come to Cloudsdale to see me compete in the Best Young Flyer Competition."
I ask, "What's that?"
Pinkie explains, "It's where all the greatest pegasus flyers get together and show off their different flying styles! Some are fast!" She runs past us, then dances back over, adding, "And some are graceful."
Applejack says, "Golly. I'd love to see you strunt your stuff in that competition."
Rainbow says, "Yeah, I wish you guys could be there."
I ask, "Why can't we?"
Twilight responds, "Because Cloudsdale is up in the clouds. Only pegasi can walk on clouds without falling through them."
Rainbow says, "Fluttershy's a great support, but her cheering isn't exactly inspirational."
Pinkie exclaims, "Ooh, I'd love to see you make a sonic rainboom! It's like, the most coolest thing ever! Even though I've never actually seen it. But I mean, come on! It's a sonic rainboom! How not cool could it possibly be?!"
I ask, "What's a sonic rainboom?"
Pinkie responds, "You really need to get out more. The sonic rainboom is legendary!"
I mutter, "Not from here, remember? I don't know every little thing a pony is capable of."
Pinkie says, "Oh, right. Well, when a pegasus like Rainbow Dash gets going so fast... Boom! A sonic boom and a rainbow can happen all at once!"
Applejack adds, "And Rainbow Dash here's the only pony to ever pull it off!"
Rainbow humbly says, "It was a long time ago... I was just a filly."
Pinkie asks, "Yeah, but you're gonna do it again, right?"
Rainbow confidently responds, "Are you kidding? I'm the greatest flyer to ever come out of Cloudsdale! I could do sonic rainbooms in my sleep."
I say, "Wow. I didn't know that was even possible!"
Twilight adds, "If you pull that off, you'll win the crown for sure!"
Rainbow says, "The grand prize is an entire day with the Wonderbolts. A whole day of flying with my lifelong heroes... It'll be a dream come true!"
Fluttershy quietly cheers, "Yay."
Rainbow continues, "I'm gonna go rest up. Don't wanna over-prepare myself, y'know?" She chuckles, then narrows her eyes at Fluttershy, saying, "You, on the other hand, better keep practicing. I need a cheering section to match my spectacular performance."
Rainbow flies off, and Fluttershy says to us, "She's practice that move a hundred times, and she's never even come close to doing it. I don't know if I can cheer loud enough to help her."
Fluttershy leaves as well, and Twilight sighs, saying, "Well, guess we'd better get this cleaned up... again."
Rarity says to her, "Go on, go on."
Twilight asks, "Go on what?"
Rarity explains, "Find a spell that will get us wingless ponies into Cloudsdale. Didn't you see how nervous she was?"
Applejack asks her, "Nervous? Have you spit your bit or somethin-? She was tootin' her own horn louder than the brass section of a marching band!"
I add, "Does a spell like that even exist?"
Rarity scoffs, saying, "Oh, please. I have put on enough fashion shows to recognize stage fright when I see it. We've got to find a way to be there for her." She shoves Twilight toward a large pile of books, exclaiming, "Now, go on!"
Twilight groans as she stands back up, asking, "Ugh, how am I supposed to find a flight spell in this mess?"
Pinkie says, "A flight spell? One sec." She hops over to a pile of books, pulling one off the top and tosses it to Twilight, adding, "Page 27."
Applejack asks, "How'd you do that?"
Pinkie responds, "It landed on my face when Rainbow Dash knocked me into the bookcase."
How extremely coincidental. Twilight flips to the page Pinkie said and scans it exclaiming, "Here it is! A spell that will allow Earth ponies to fly for 3 days. Ooh, it looks really difficult..."
I ask, "But you're the most skilled unicorn I've ever met! You can do it, Twi."
Twilight says, "I'm not sure I can."
Rarity exclaims, "You've got to try!"
Twilight asks, "Okay... But who's gonna volunteer to be the test subject?"
We all look at each other, unsure, until Rarity steps forward confidently, responding, "I will! For Rainbow Dash, I will go first."
Twilight says nervously, "Here goes..."
She closes her eyes and casts the spell on Rarity, grunting from the magical strain. Once the spell is over, she staggers, then looks up at her test subject.
She says, "I think it worked!"
Rarity has a new set of large, sleek, see-through butterfly wings.
I ask Twilight, "Ooh, are we all getting those?"
Twilight shakes her head, panting a little as she responds, "It's just too difficult. I'll have to find another spell to get the rest of us in Cloudsdale."
She searches through the book, and Pinkie says, "Oh, I think I know what spell you're talking about! Check page 30."
We all blink at her a few times in surprise, and Twilight turns to the page, finding a cloud-walking spell that should be much easier. Once she'd cast the spell on all of us, including herself, we hopped on the nearest hot air balloon and flew up to Cloudsdale, Rarity flying just above us. I can hear Rainbow, Fluttershy, and Rarity's muffled voices as we pass through the cloud layer, which is an odd feeling. It's impossibly soft, like pillow stuffing mixed with frayed wool yarn, yet also somehow moist and dry at the same time.
We land the balloon on the clouds, and I say, "Hi, Rainbow! Hi, Flutters!"
Rainbow exclaims, "I... I can't believe it!"
Fluttershy adds, "It's incredible!"
Rainbow exclaims, "This is so cool! You guys made it!"
Pinkie responds, "Sure did!"
She hops out of the balloon's carriage, Rainbow exclaiming with worry, "Wait!"
When she lands safely on the clouds layer below, the rest of us join her.
Rainbow asks, "How'd you do that? Only pegasus ponies can walk on clouds."
Pinkie giggles, saying, "Pretty cool, huh?"
Twilight says, "I found a spell that makes temporary wings, but it was too difficult to do more than once. So, I found an easier spell that lets the rest of us walk on clouds."
Applejack adds, "And we came to cheer you to victory!"
I add, "Every performer needs a cheering section."
Rainbow smiles, saying, "To be honest, I was starting to get just the teeniest, tiniest bit nervous. But I feel a lot better now that you guys are here. Hey, we've got some time before the competition. Why don't Fluttershy and I show you around Cloudsdale?"
The rest of us exclaim, "Yes!"
Rainbow shows us around, saying, "Here it is; the greatest city in the sky!"
We all mutters sounds of awe at the amazing city around us made entirely of clouds, but Rarity just awes at herself in a mirror.
Rainbow and the rest of us raise our eyebrows at our newly winged friend, Rainbow saying, "Uh..." She then starts moving on, saying, "Some of the greatest pegasi in history came from Cloudsdale!"
Rarity finally looks away from the mirror, exclaiming, "Oh, wait for me!"
We pass by a construction zone, the workers gazing at Rarity's wings in awe, one exclaiming, "Those wings are gorgeous!"
Rarity exclaims, "Why, thank you!"
Twilight says, "Be careful with those wings, Rarity. They're made from gossamer and morning dew, and they're incredibly delicate."
Rarity says, "Don't worry, Twilight. I'm sure they can't get worn out from too much attention."
I say, "No, but they might get worn out from you flying nonstop! Maybe just take a break and walk with us for a while."
Rarity scoffs, saying, "I'm quite alright, Miss Melody."
I roll my eyes, and Applejack says, "Since we're up here, I'd sure like to get a look at where the weather's made."
I ask, "Wait, you guys actually make the weather? Weird. Though, it would be neat to see what all goes into it."
Rainbow exclaims, "Great idea, you two! C'mon, girls. To the weather factory!" She leads us into a building past some manufactured thunder, and into a room, saying, "This is where they make the snowflakes. Each one is hoofmade." Rainbow holds up a large magnifying glass to show us the finished snowflakes hanging from the ceiling, adding, "As you can see, it's a delicate operation."
Rarity ignores the magnifying glass and flies up to teh ceiling, gasping as she says, "Ooh, the snowflakes look even better from up here."
The snowflake workers grumble and yell in anger as the flapping from her large wings blows away the hundreds of snowflakes they were working on, and Rainbow rushes the six of us out of the room before anything else can happen, saying, "We'd better move on before Rarity ruins winter and causes a drought."
We move on to another part of the factory, where large puddles of rainbows form like puddles of water after a rainstorm.
She says, "And here's where they make the rainbows!"
Pinkie dips her hoof in one of the puddles and licks her hoof, her face exploding in the different colors of the rainbow, leaving her panting out, "Spicyyyyy!"
Applejack and I laugh, and Rainbow says through chuckles, Yeah, rainbow aren't really known for their flavor."
I say, "I didn't know you guys even made rainbows! Wow, this world really is something else."
Rainbow asks me, "What do you mean? How do you even get weather where you're from if you don't make it?"
I respond, "It just... happens. All on it's own. Condensation takes water from below into clouds until they're too full, and then it rains, leaving rainbows in the sky when the rain stops. And when it gets too cold, the rain crystalizes into snow and ice. There's freaky natural disasters all the time. We don't really have magic to do stuff for us, it just happens. And we definitely can't walk on clouds where I'm from."
All of my friends look at me in confusion and slight concern until three tall stallions awe at Rarity's wings, one exclaiming, "Whoa! Oh, where'd you get those amazing wings? I want a pair!"
Rarity says, "Hmm... Yeah, I guess I could see that."
That same stallion exclaims, "Oh hey, look! It's Rainbow Crash again!"
One of the other stallions laughs, adding, "Yeah! Rainbow... um... uh... Crash!"
Rainbow exclaims, "Rarity! What're you doing talking to these guys?"
Rarity responds, "Oh, they were just admiring my wings, Rainbow Dash."
I say, "And making fun of Dash."
Proving my point, the first stallion exclaims to Rainbow, "Yeah, you should forget the sonic rainboom and just get yourself some wings like these!"
He and his two friends laugh at her expense, reminding me of Sunset Shimmer back home as Rainbow's face drops.
Fluttershy also notices, saying, "Uh... C'mon, girls. Why don't we go see how clouds are made?" As soon as we're out of earshot of Rainbow's bullies, she adds, "Don't listen to them. You're gonna win that competition for sure!"
Rainbow's ears droop, and she says, "Are you kidding? I can't do the sonic rainboom, and just look at these boring, plain old feathered wings. I'm doomed!"
A group of factory workers stop what they're doing to awe at Rarity, and she says, "What, these old things? Go ahead, every pony. Photos are encouraged."
Twilight says, "Rarity, we're supposed to be helping Rainbow Dash relax, remember? Put your wings away and stop showing off!"
Rarity scoffs, saying, "Oh, pfft. How can you ask me to put away perfection?"
She straightens her wings out in the sky in just the right position that the sun shines through her gossimer wings, color reflecting on the clouds like a stained glass window. She chuckles at that as the workers audibly awe at her wings even more.
Twilight walks over to the rest of us, asking, "Rainbow Dash, are you okay? You don't look so good."
Rainbow nearly hyperventilates as she responds in a hushed voice, "Of course! Why wouldn't I be okay? Everyone's so in love with Rarity's wings that they won't even notice when I totally blow it in the Best Young Flyer's Competition!"
The pegasus that told Rainbow where Derpy went during Winter Wrap Up day, Rainbowshine, exclaims to Rarity, "Hey, there's an idea! You should inter the competition!"
Another pegasus adds, "Yeah! I could watch you fly all day long!"
Rarity says, "There really isn't anypony who uses their wings quite like me. Perhaps I should compete!"
Rainbow exclaims, "What?!" The workers continue aweing at Rarity, and Rainbow asks, shuddering on the floor, "What am I gonna do?! I'll never win the competition now..."
I put my hoof on her shoulder, saying, "You'll do great, Rainbow. You're the best flyer I've ever met. Whether you perform a sonic rainboom or not, I'll be cheering for you."
Rainbow cracks a small, nervous smile, standing up before silently flying with Rarity to the competition to get ready, the rest of us finding our way to the audience seats with Fluttershy's help.
The announcer pegasus enters, saying into a megaphone, "Fillies and gentlecolts! Please rise and join me in welcoming our beloved Princess Celestia!"
There's fanfare and applause as Celestia makes her grand entrance on the large balcony above us, and I'm still wishing I'd been able to bring my noise-cancelling headphones for events like this, but I don't have them, so I just have to deal with the noise.
The announcer adds, "Please welcome our celebrity judges for the Best Your Flyer Competition; the Wonderbolts!"
Three pegasi in Wonderbolt uniforms fly in and do a few coordinated stunts in the sky before landing in the judge's balcony.
The announcer exclaims, "And now, let's find out who will take the prize as this year's best young flyer!"
After 13 contestants doing their routines, skipping over number 4 for some reason, we still haven't seen our friends.
Twilight says, "I loves number 7. Doing fifteen barrel rolls in a row can't be easy."
Fluttershy adds, "My favorite is number 10. She just seemed like such a nice pony."
Applejack says, "Hm... Wonder how come we haven't seen Rainbow Dash or Rarity yet."
I say, "Yeah, I could've sworn we'd have seen them by now, especially since the competition's almost over."
The announcer says as Rainbow Dash enters the open-sky competition area, the cyan pegasus visibly nervous, "And now, for our final competitor of the day, contestant number 15!" Rarity makes a grand entrance as she also enters the space, her face done up with more makeup than she usually wears to compliment the colors of her wings, "Uh, and apparently contestant number 4."
The crowd cheers, and I say, "Maybe they decided to do a group performance?"
Fluttershy says, "I don't think so. I've never seen a group performance at the Best Young Flyers Competition before."
As the classical music begins, both ponies begin their respective routines, Rainbow dodging cloud clusters and Rarity dancing gracefully. Rainbow accidentally hits one of the cloud clusters, bouncing into the audience.
One of her bullies jeers, "Nice work, Rainbow Crash!"
The three of them laugh, and Rainbow shakes it off, flying back over to continue her routine.
Fluttershy says after part of the routine goes well, "Look! Phase two is working."
Ponies cheer, and Rarity flies up toward the sun like she did earlier, but much closer this time, sweating from the heat as she exclaims, "Look upon me, Equestria! For I... am... Rarity!"
Her wings suddenly burst into flames and she starts falling, screaming loudly and flailing her hooves.
Twilight exclaims, "Oh no! Her wings evaporated into thin air!"
The Wonderbolts fly over to Rarity and try to help her, but they're all knocked out by her violently flailing hooves.
Rainbow yells, "Hold on, Rarity! I'm coming!"
She dives down as fast as she can, and Fluttershy covers her eyes, saying, "Oh, I can't look!"
Just before the unconscious Wonderbolts and flailing Rarity could plummet to the ground, a cone form around Rainbow's head and explodes outwards, helping her move faster than the speed of light as she swoops down and catches the four ponies, flying overhead to create the most beautiful rainbow I've ever seen.
We're all staring at it agape until Fluttershy cheers louder than I've ever heard anypony cheer, "A sonic rainboom! She did it! She did it! Woo! A sonic rainboom! Woo! Yeah!"
Once she stops leaving a rainbow trail behind her and slows down, she sets down the Wonderbolts back into the judge's balcony and sets Rarity down in the hot air balloon's basket.
Rarity says ashamedly, "I want to apologize to all of you for getting so carried away with my... beautiful wings. I guess I just lost my head."
Fluttershy says, "It's okay."
Applejack adds, "Oh, don't worry about it, kiddo."
Pinkie adds, "We still love you."
I add, "It's understandable, Rares."
Rarity turns to Rainbow, adding, "And I'm especially sorry that I was so thoughtless as to jump into the contest at the last minute after you had worked so hard to win it. Can you ever, ever forgive me?"
Rainbow smiles, saying, "Aw, it's okay. Everything turns out alright, right? I just wish I could've met the Wonderbolts when they were awake."
The Wonderbolts land behind her and one taps her shoulder.
She turns around and sees them, exclaiming excitedly, "Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh!"
The Wonderbolts leader, Spitfire, says, "So you're the little pony who saved our lives. We really wanted to meet you and say thanks."
Rainbow exclaims again, "Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh!"
Celestia walks over to us, and we all bow, Twilight saying, "Princess."
I say, "Hey, Princess Celestia."
Celestia gestures for us to stand, saying, "Hello Twilight Sparkle, Scarlette Melody, and hello to your friends, too."
Rarity says, "Princess Celestia, I am sorry I ruined the competition. Rainbow Dash here really is the best flyer in Equestria."
Celestia says, "I know she is, my dear. That's why, for her incredibly act of bravery and her spectacular sonic rainboom, I'm presenting the grand prize for Best Young Flyer to this year's winner, Miss Rainbow Dash!"
The crowd cheers and picks Rainbow up as she exclaims, "Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh!"
Celestia asks, "So, Twilight Sparkle, did you learn anything about friendship from this experience?"
Twilight responds, "I did, Princess, but I think Rarity learned even more than me."
Rarity says, "I certainly did. I learned how important it is to keep your hooves on the ground and be there for your friends."
Celestia smiles, saying, "Excellent. Well done, Rarity."
The crowd sets Rainbow back down on the ground, giving her a medal to wear around her neck as she exclaims, "This really is the best day ever!"
One of her bullies walks up, saying nervously, "Uh, hey, Rainbow Crash."
One of his friends elbows him, saying in a hushed voice, "Dash!"
The first stallion corrects himself, saying, "Oh! Uh, sorry. Rainbow Dash. Uh, we just wanted to congratulate you on winning the competition."
The one that corrected him adds, "That sonic rainboom was awesome!"
Rainbow chuckles, saying, "Thanks, guys."
The first bully apologizes, saying, "Uh, we're really sorry we gave you such a hard time before."
Rainbow says, "Aw, that's okay. Don't worry about it."
The stallion asks, "Hey, do you wanna hang out with us? Maybe you could show us how you did that incredible trick!"
The Wonderbolts fly back over to Rainbow, and she smirks, saying, "Sorry, boys... but I've got plans."
She flies off into the sun with the Wonderbolts, enjoying her well-earned prize.

What is a transcendental universe based on curvature of +1.5 declination East SouthEast to Polaris if it is also referred to as a nebulae and a universal hexagram? A: A Universe . . A Hexagram.. A Symbol
A “transcendental universe” is a concept that goes beyond empirical observation, often encompassing abstract, philosophical, or metaphysical ideas. When you introduce specific parameters like curvature, declination, and other celestial references, you’re combining physical astronomy with these abstract notions. Breaking Down the Query 1. Square Dance: Two Step
Country!Wanda x Male!Reader
Tumblr media
It all started when your best friend Pietro ‘Piet’ Maximoff invited you to leave the city for a week. He saw how much city life and work was wearing you down, how much you needed a detox from all of the stress and anxiety.
He picked you up in his pick up truck from your apartment on a Sunday morning. Piet was a track star in college, full ride, and your best friend / roommate. Now he works as a mechanic in his home town. He never really talked about home but he loved it.
“I promise, pal” your Southern accented friend told you, “you’re gonna love it. I’m taking you to the best watering hole in the area tonight.”
“Are you still trying to get me to settle down?” You laughed.
“I just wanna see my bud happy. A little tail can help that” he gives you a playful wink.
First things first he helped you drop off your stuff at the guest room in his modest two story homestead. “Sorry I can’t give you the master bedroom” he chuckled, “my traveling sister came back to town, she called dibs”
“I don’t mind.” You said with a shrug, “your sis deserves it” You never met Piet’s sister but you did know about their constant teasing due to having seen their text exchanges.
“Come on, bud” he said practically pulling you out the door. “Let’s live a little!”
You and Piet made your way to the local watering hole and dance hall. Didn’t take long for Piet to make the rounds and chat up a couple people.
“Does Crystal approve of you being here?” you asked your pal with a laugh.
“Speak of the angel and she’ll appear” he responded as his longtime girlfriend made her way towards the two of you. Didn’t take long for Piet and her to go to the dance floor.
The band took to the small stage a second later. The announcer made his way to the microphone.
“Evening fellas, ladies, please give a nice warm applause to our guest singer the Good Witch, Scarlett.”
And with that introduction, the most beautiful woman you had ever seen made her way to the microphone. Her confidence, the sort of kind way she carried herself, it made your heart beat fast.
“Howdy everyone” she said with a southern twang. “Glad to see so many familiar faces in the audience…”
Her eyes locked with yours. Her eyes looked at you with pure adoration. A small smile made its way across her face.
“And so new faces too” she gave you a little wink, “so let’s start shall we?”
Her keyboardist began playing a simple melody:
(Can Love Stand the Test - Don Henley & Bonnie Raitt)
Did I lose your love a long time ago
Or did I just wear it out? Baby, I don't know
Seems like anymore we're not on the same page
In the same book, or on the same stage
We say the words, but they feel all wrong
Like a happy blues, like a sad love song
How two people can bow and scrape
For every shred of tenderness
Can love stand the test
Of times that surround us
Memories that astound us
Joy and happiness
Can love stand the test?
Her eyes were locked on you. Did she feel some sort of connection to you, as you could feel with her? You hadn’t spoken a word and yet it was like you knew her somehow.
We said forever, for always, for good
But the years were not impressed
Can love stand the test
Of time that surrounds us
Moments that astound us?
Can love stand the test
Of time that surrounds us
Moments that astound us?
Joy and happiness
Joy and happiness
Joy and happiness
The audience cheered as the song ended. The mystery singer offered a humble little bow. “Alright” she said with a giggle, “who’s ready for a little square dancing, huh?”
The crowd cheered and began asking for their own partners as the singer got off the stage and began making her own way towards you. Everyone else faded away, it was like it was only you and her in that entire watering hole.
“Howdy there” she flashed a gentle smile at you
“H-Howdy” you managed to answer back.
“You’re not from around here are ya?” her twang just made your heart flutter.
“No. I’m in town for a couple days”
“Well City Boy” she gave a little twirl in her hips, “do you wanna dance?”
“I-I got like two left feet” you said with a little embarrassment. She only giggled in response and took your hands.
“Don’t worry” she reassured you, “just follow my lead”
You and this amazing gal danced a couple square dances together that night. Time seemed to blur, you found yourself falling deeper and deeper into what felt like love. You could spend an eternity on that dance floor with her and it wouldn’t feel like enough time with her.
The way she smiled those pearly whites at you. The way her reddish brown hair bounced. The way she looked at you with those emerald green eyes that made your heart beat practically out of your chest. You didn’t think it was possible to feel this way about someone so fast.
Sadly the song came to an end. She offered you a quick bow and a tip of her own hat to you. “Ya know” she smiled at you, “you sure can dance, city boy”
“You’re not too bad yourself, ma’am” you complimented her back.
“How long you in town for?” She drew a little closer to you.
“A week, maybe a little longer”
“That’s an awful long time” she wrapped her arms around your neck, yours wrapped around her waist.
“M-my name’s Y/N”
She offered a gentle, sincere smile, “my name’s-”
“Wanda?” Piet spoke up, staring in shock at you and the gal before you. She gave a slightly embarrassed tip of the hat to Piet.
“Hey bro” Wanda said to Piet
“I see you met my bud Y/N” Piet said.
“He’s a great dancer” she answered back, giving you a gentle smile.
Part of you was horrified. Another part of you was on cloud nine. Your life was supposed to be structured, not on a whim. And yet here you were. Not only had you fallen in love on your first night out of the city, you had fallen for your best friend’s sister.
To Be Continued…

How Scarlett would react if in a ball the court held she founds baby!mc following her as a lost puppy? She would tease mc in the future?
I think if it’s something Scarlett cared enough to recall she might tease the MC about it, but I don’t think it’s something she’d look back on unless it was needed (she doesn’t really like to delve into her past, good or bad, for a variety of reasons as she tends to spiral a bit).
Tumblr media
A soothing melody resounds through the ballroom — interspersed with the sounds of clinking glasses, light chatter, and even lighter laughter that rung with hidden intentions — allowing for the varying couples to move across the dance floor in an elegant display of grace; art coming to life in the face of measured movements.
It was all too much — too fake — for her to stomach for long; she had never been one to dally within the confines of court for extended periods of time. She played the part, of course. The dutiful heir, even if she’d never see the throne, and the even more doting daughter; one who laughed and smiled at each insolent lordling that wished to gain favor with her father, thinking she’d be too blind to see what they were trying to do by approaching her, and each moment she kept the demure expression across her face was a moment more that she felt something wither away within her.
Princess Scarlett Voltaire, in the face of many within the Etheric Court, was everything you wished for in a royal child: charming, docile, eloquent, and, above all, beautiful.
Princess Scarlett Voltaire, to Scarlett Voltaire, was nothing more than a caricature; a gilded cage that trapped her before the eyes of the many, locking her within herself, never letting the eyes of the few in to truly see what would happen when she’d finally be free.
This ball, this room, and the people that moved within it? Were nothing but spectators to a show they weren’t even aware they’re a part of. An almost voyeuristic entity settling within her gut, sending a chill down her spine, every time someone turned to look at her; a gnawing entity that made her want to rip herself open, to show what was being hidden away, to reveal that they were looking at a beautifully constructed mask — something that conformed to what they wished to see, but wasn’t truly there.
It’s a feeling Scarlett could only handle for so long — her nails biting into the palm of her hands — before she decided to slip away into the shadows that such events provided; going unseen, unwanted, for her duty had already been completed. She ensnared people towards House Voltaire, delighting them by feeding their egos, and letting them loose to speak about the accomplishments King Alaric had been able to procure while raising such delightful children.
Standing within the shadows now, watching her handiwork in action, makes another chill run down her spin, a sickening weight settling within her gut, as she watched various individuals laud over someone that wasn’t even real.
“You’re pretty.” The statement, along with the fact that she had been so lost within her mind that she let someone sneak up on her, causes a frown to settle over her features; annoyance sparking within her chest at the continued homage to her physical appearance. However, when she turned to spit fire towards the person that addressed her so, Scarlett’s eyes fall down to the small child that she had seen with her peripheries throughout the night; always looking in her direction with wide, innocent eyes.
Such innocence doesn’t deserve to be around this… Entrapped within the belly of the beast without a true way to escape.
Smoothing her features, adopting a serene expression, Scarlett tilts her head. “You should be with your parents, young one.” She takes a cursory sniff, ensuring that her assumptions were true, and a heavy weight settles across her shoulders when she realized that child before her was human; woefully, unequivocally, human. Even a shifter pup would be better than this — for they’d at least stand a chance if things went awry — but Scarlett couldn’t allow for her burgeoning feelings to show. It wouldn’t do anyone any good. “Where are they? Are you capable of getting back to them?”
The child still continues to stare up at her with wide eyes — observing her with a nonjudgmental gaze; no hidden agenda lurking within the innocent expression — and Scarlett, despite her years doing the opposite, couldn’t help the softness that edges within her own in return. She had never been good with children, even if they tended to flock to her, but she had also never been able to turn them away either; even if it’d be better for everyone if she was left alone. It seemed that now, even with this human child, her record wouldn’t shift in the slightest.
Crouching down, balancing easily on her heels, Scarlett maintains eye contact. “Do you need help locating your family, young one?” She looks out across the room, not spotting anyone frantically searching for a missing child. “Are they even in this room?”
Another slow blink, before a large grin stretches across the child’s face. “You’re pretty.”
Scarlett can feel her left eye twitch slightly at the repeated phrase — faintly feeling her dearest ones amusement, at the situation she had found herself within, through their bond — but she maintains focus and, what she hopes in any case, a pleasant, even if slightly exasperated, expression across her face.
“We’ve established that,” she replies. “What we have yet to discern is if you’re in need of assistance. Are you lost? Do you know where your family is? Did you come with anyone?”
It briefly crosses her mind that the child could be leftover meal; even if the practice had been dying out, and Scarlett herself found it utterly abhorrent, she’s well aware that there were some still within the court that feasted on new blood. But, looking at the demeanor of the child, and the elegantly tailored clothes, it’s something that was dismissed as a possibility; if the child were to be a meal then there’d be definitive signs. None of which being that the child was actually looked after to this degree.
Which only meant the child belonged, in the familial sense, to someone and it seemingly was left to Scarlett to return the little human.
“Come now,” Scarlett finally mutters, not enjoying the action she was about to partake in to ensure this endeavor went as quickly as possible. “Let’s go find your family. You shouldn’t be wandering by yourself in this place. It’s dangerous for people twice your age.”
Opening her arms, Scarlett observes as the child takes in the action with an excited gleam appearing within the innocent gaze and, before she can properly react, she has a tiny form burrowing against her chest, small arms wrapped around her neck with a little face nuzzling against it a moment later, and Scarlett just barely contains her innate reaction to push the encroaching entity away from her personal space. Instead, fighting against every instinct telling her to do the exact opposite, Scarlett rises, cradling the child closer, and begins to search around the room with an almost predatory gaze; she was on the hunt now, and she wasn’t about to fail. Still, looking down at the tiny form, it wouldn’t hurt to get some semblance of help — even if the request wouldn’t bear anything fruitful.
“Young one?” A sleepy gaze rises to meet her own. “Where is the last place you saw your family?”
Instead of answering directly, as she anticipated, the little face nuzzles back into her neck, tiny hands slightly grasping the dark auburn locks that spilled down across her neck from her elaborate hairstyle. Words slightly muffled, and intercepted by a yawn, but they were ones she had become quite used to while in the presence of this particular human. “You’re pretty.”
With the small form beginning to fall asleep, and while she’s still within the confines of the shadows, away from the prying eyes of the vultures that circle within this blasted place, Scarlett allows her gaze to soften completely as she looks at the slumbering child; for once, in a long while, actually allowing herself to believe the words, in the sincerity within them, and letting her heart rejoice in the happiness the warmth those few syllables provided.

There's glitter on the floor after the party, girls carrying their shoes down in the lobby
The night was a tapestry woven with laughter, music, and the effervescent sparkle of celebration. A grand soirée had unfolded within the opulent walls of a magnificent ballroom, where the elite gathered to revel in the luxuries of life. Crystal chandeliers cast a dazzling glow over the dance floor, and the air buzzed with the merriment of the occasion.
A girl named Y/N had always been the quiet, observant type, content to linger on the edges of social gatherings and take in the energy of the room. Her world seemed to transform, however, when she received an invitation from to the grandest event of the year— a dazzling party hosted by the illustrious Scarlett Johansson, her sister. ( she always received an invitation, she just doesn't go. well, until now. )
Scarlett was the epitome of grace and sophistication, known for hosting events that left a lasting imprint on everyone fortunate enough to attend. Her parties were legendary, with an air of enchantment that lingered long after the final guest had departed.
Amidst the sea of faces, Y/N's eyes fell upon Elizabeth, her sisters' best friend, moving through the crowd like a vision. Elizabeth, the girl she had admired from afar for what felt like an eternity, was there, of course. Elizabeth's presence exuded confidence and charisma, and Y/N couldn't help but feel a flutter of excitement in her chest as she nervously adjusted the hem of her dress, feeling a bit out of place amid the elegant crowd.
Elizabeth's presence also seemed to cast a magnetic pull, and Y/N found herself drawn toward her.
The glitter, like the residue of a magical moment, adorned the floor beneath Elizabeth's feet. Y/N's heart raced as she gathered the courage to strike up a conversation, as she approached Elizabeth.
"Hi," Y/N stammered, a nervous smile playing on her lips.
Elizabeth turned toward her, a warm smile gracing her face. "Hey there! I haven't seen you around before. Are you enjoying the party?"
Y/N nodded, her cheeks flushed with a delicate shade of pink, "It's incredible. I never imagined I'd be here."
Elizabeth chuckled, her laughter like a melody in the air, "Well, I'm glad you made it. These events can be a bit overwhelming, but they have their charm."
As the night unfolded, Y/N found herself drawn to Elizabeth's orbit. They exchanged polite conversations, laughter resonating in the air like a melody. The conversation flowed effortlessly, like a dance that mirrored the enchantment of the night. They shared stories, dreams, and in that moment, the glitter on the floor seemed to shimmer a bit brighter. Elizabeth's charm was undeniable, and Y/N felt a magnetic pull, as if fate had orchestrated this meeting.
"I've always admired you from afar." Y/N confessed, her words tinged with vulnerability.
Elizabeth's eyes sparkled with genuine interest, "Really? I had no idea. I'm flattered."
The night unfolded like a fairy tale, with Y/N and Elizabeth losing themselves in the magic of the party. They danced beneath the twinkling lights, and as the night wore on, Y/N couldn't shake the feeling that something extraordinary was happening.
Elizabeth, too, seemed intrigued by the genuine nature of Y/N, a refreshing contrast to the glittering facade of the event. The glitter on the floor beneath their feet seemed to sparkle with a newfound significance. It wasn't just the remnants of a party; it was the residue of a connection that had blossomed amidst the glamour.
As the party reached its crescendo, Y/N and Elizabeth found themselves amidst a shower of confetti. Y/N couldn't help but wonder if this enchanting encounter was the beginning of something beautiful.
As the night came to a close, Elizabeth looked at Y/N with a twinkle in her eyes, "I'm glad you came tonight." she said, a genuine smile gracing her lips.
Y/N, overwhelmed with a mix of excitement and gratitude, responded, "I'm glad I did too. This has been an incredible night."
Elizabeth, seemed reluctant to part ways, "Maybe we could do this again sometime?" she suggested, her eyes holding a hint of anticipation.
Y/N nodded, a smile lighting up her face, "I'd like that."
As they bid each other goodnight, Y/N walked away from the glitter-strewn ballroom with a heart full of hope. Little did Y/N know that the glitter on the floor wasn't just a symbol of a party's aftermath; it was a metaphor for the unexpected magic that had unfolded. From that night onward, Y/N and Elizabeth's connection continued to grow, their lives intertwined in a story that began with glitter on the floor and unfolded into a beautiful, unforeseen romance.
Candle wax and Polaroids on the hardwood floor, you and me from the night before
The soft glow of candlelight flickered around the room, casting dancing shadows on the hardwood floor. Y/N and Elizabeth sat amidst a scattering of Polaroids, capturing moments frozen in time— snapshots of their shared laughter, stolen kisses, and the everyday beauty that painted their love story.
As Y/N gazed at the Polaroids, a smile played on their lips. "Do you remember this one?" Y/N held up a photo, capturing a lazy Sunday morning when they had decided to make pancakes together.
Elizabeth's eyes sparkled with nostalgia as she looked at the image, "Of course, how could I forget?" Elizabeth replied, reaching for the photo. "That was the day we ended up having breakfast for dinner because your pancake-making skills needed improvement."
They both laughed, the memory resurfacing as vividly as if it had happened just yesterday. The warmth in the room wasn't just from the flickering candles; it was a reflection of the enduring love that had grown between them.
Y/N picked up another photograph, this one capturing a quiet moment shared on a rainy day.
"Our impromptu dance party in the living room." Y/N reminisced, their eyes locked with Elizabeth's.
"Ah, how could I not?" Elizabeth chuckled, "We danced like no one was watching, and for a moment, it felt like the world outside didn't exist. Just you, me, and the music."
The moments captured in those Polaroids held a special place in their hearts, a testament to the journey they had undertaken together. Yet, amidst the warmth and nostalgia, there was also a subtle acknowledgment of the challenges they had faced.
As a soft music playing softly in the background, Elizabeth's gaze met Y/N's with a depth of understanding. "You know," Elizabeth began, her voice gentle, "those moments, the ones in these pictures, they're precious to me. But what matters even more is the now. The present and the future we're creating together."
Y/N nodded, appreciating the sentiment behind Elizabeth's words. The journey of love wasn't just about reminiscing; it was about building and evolving, about facing the uncertainties of the future hand in hand.
"I love looking at these memories," Y/N admitted, "but I love the idea of making new ones even more. Our story isn't confined to the past; it's a living, breathing narrative that we're still writing every day."
Elizabeth reached out, taking Y/N's hand in hers. "Forevermore."
"Our love story continues, one Polaroid at a time, each frame capturing the beautiful journey we're on."
Don't read the last page, but I stay when it's hard, or it's wrong, or we're making mistakes
Their journey began years ago, with chance encounters and stolen glances evolving into shared laughter and whispered confidences. Y/N's meticulous breathed life into Elizabeth's vivacity world, and in turn, Elizabeth's stability provided a comforting anchor for Y/N.As the seasons changed, so did the dynamics of their relationship. Together, they weathered storms and reveled in the sunny days. They celebrated victories, both big and small, and navigated the challenges that life threw their way.
And today, another challenge got thrown into their way.
The apartment echoed with the sharp tones of an argument that seemed to reverberate through the walls, leaving an uncomfortable tension in its wake. Y/N paced back and forth, frustration etched across their face, while Elizabeth stood by the window, a mixture of anger and hurt in her eyes.
"Why can't you see my point of view, Y/N?" Elizabeth's voice was raised, her frustration bubbling over, "I feel like you're not even trying to understand where I'm coming from."
Y/N stopped in their tracks, a sigh escaping their lips, "I am trying, Elizabeth, but it feels like every time we talk about this, we end up going in circles. I need you to meet me halfway, to see things from my perspective too."
The room was filled with an uneasy silence, broken only by the distant sounds of the city outside. Elizabeth took a deep breath, her voice softening, "I just thought we were on the same page. I thought we wanted the same things."
Y/N turned to face Elizabeth, frustration giving way to a deep sadness. "We do want the same things, but we have different ways of getting there. Can't we find a middle ground without tearing each other apart?"
Elizabeth looked away, the weight of the argument settling heavily on her shoulders. "I don't know, Y/N. Sometimes it feels like we're just not meant to be together."
Those words hung in the air, a painful acknowledgment of the growing rift between them. Y/N felt a lump forming in their throat, but they refused to let the conversation end on such a somber note. "Elizabeth, look, I know we're going through a tough time. But I want to stay, even when it's hard. I want to work through this, find a way to make us stronger."
Elizabeth's gaze softened as she met Y/N's eyes, "But how, Y/N? How do we fix this when it feels like we're both pulling in opposite directions?"
Y/N took a step closer, reaching for Elizabeth's hand. "Maybe we start by acknowledging that we're both imperfect. We're going to make mistakes, say the wrong things, but that doesn't mean we give up on each other. It means we fight for what we have, even when it's difficult."
Elizabeth sighed, her shoulders sagging as the weight of the argument began to lift. "I just don't want us to end up resenting each other."
Y/N nodded, squeezing Elizabeth's hand gently, "Neither do I. That's why we need to communicate, be patient with each other, and remember that we're a team. We can navigate through the storms, but only if we face them together."
I want your midnights, but I'll be cleaning up bottles with you on New Year's Day
The city was alive with the anticipation of a new year, the air crisp with the promise of fresh beginnings. In the heart of it all, Y/N and Elizabeth found themselves atop a rooftop overlooking the city skyline, a canvas of twinkling lights that mirrored the anticipation in their hearts. The year had been a rollercoaster, but tonight, they decided to welcome the new beginning together.
Y/N, with her contagious enthusiasm, looked at Elizabeth with sparkling eyes. "Can you believe it's another year already?" she exclaimed, a warmth spreading through her as she took in the breathtaking view.
Elizabeth, always the anchor to Y/N's free spirit, smiled gently. "Time flies when you're in love, doesn't it?" Her hand found Y/N's, fingers intertwining like a promise.
As the night unfolded, they decided to forego the traditional crowded parties and embrace a more intimate celebration. The rooftop became their private haven, adorned with fairy lights and a cozy blanket, creating a cocoon that shielded them from the world below.
Y/N produced a small Bluetooth speaker, the soft strains of their favorite songs filling the air. The lyrics of Taylor Swift's "New Year's Day" seemed to resonate with the atmosphere around them. The skyline, the city lights, and the company of each other made it a moment that felt both infinite and fleeting.
"I want your midnights," Y/N sang along softly, her gaze locked with Elizabeth's. "But I'll be cleaning up bottles with you on New Year's Day."
Elizabeth chuckled, her eyes reflecting the love and warmth that had blossomed between them over countless midnights and New Year's Eves. "Well, I wouldn't want to be cleaning up bottles with anyone else." she replied, her thumb tracing circles on the back of Y/N's hand.
Hold on to the memories, they will hold on to you
The rain gently tapped against the window pane, creating a soothing cadence that mirrored the rhythmic beating of Y/N's heart. She sat on the edge of her bed, surrounded by the warmth of soft lamplight and the subtle scent of vanilla candles. It was a quiet evening, the kind that invited introspection, and Y/N found herself drifting into a sea of memories, each one a page in the story of her long-term relationship with Elizabeth.
Y/N couldn't help but reminisce about the love story she shared with Elizabeth. The room was adorned with photographs capturing moments, a visual timeline of their journey together. Y/N reached for a framed picture on the shelf, her fingers tracing the contours of Elizabeth's smiling face. A soft sigh escaped her lips, the memories played out like a film reel in Y/N's mind.
The lazy Sunday mornings, the spontaneous road trips, the quiet nights curled up on the couch. Each moment was a treasure, and Y/N held them close to her heart. One particularly vivid memory stood out— the night they danced under a sky full of stars.
"Dance with me, just like this, forever." Elizabeth whispered.
"Forever sounds perfect." Y/N said with a soft smile on her face.
The rhythm of their hearts matched the melody of the night, creating a symphony of love that echoed in their shared laughter and whispered promises.
The room was bathed in the soft glow of memories as Y/N continued to reflect. She recalled the day they decided to take a break—a moment that tested the strength of their love.
"We need this time, but I love you, always." Her girlfriend, Elizabeth, said.
"I love you too."
Time apart allowed them to grow individually, and eventually, they found their way back to each other. Now, as Y/N held onto those memories, she felt a surge of gratitude for the love they had shared. The phone rang, interrupting her reverie.
It was Elizabeth.
"Hey, just wanted to hear your voice."
Y/N smiled, and said, "I was just thinking about us. Our memories."
"The good or the bad?" Elizabeth joked.
"All of it. Because every memory, every moment, holds a piece of you."
"And a piece of you is eternally a part of me. I love you, Y/N."
"I love you, Lizzie"
"What memories are you holding onto right now?" Elizabeth asked.
Y/N's mind wandered back to the early days of their relationship, the days filled with the excitement of discovery and the sweet anticipation of shared dreams.
"Remember our first date? The nervous laughter, the awkward moments, and then that magical instant when we both realized we were exactly where we were meant to be?"
"Of course, I remember. I was so struck by your authenticity, by the genuine connection we shared. It was like finding a missing piece." Elizabeth replied happily.
"And our road trip to the mountains— the wind in our hair, the breathtaking views, and those late-night conversations under a blanket of stars. It felt like we were the only two people in the world."
"Those moments were magical. I still carry the echo of your laughter and the warmth of your hand in mine."
"Even in the tough times, we held onto each other. Like that rainy night when we danced in the living room, turning a simple evening into a celebration of us." Y/N recalled.
"That dance felt like a promise—a promise to weather the storms together and to find joy in the simple moments. I wouldn't trade it for anything."
Please don't ever become a stranger whose laugh I could recognize anywhere
Y/N sat by the window, the soft glow of the city lights casting a warm ambience in the room. She traced her finger along the rim of her coffee cup, lost in thought. As she sipped her coffee, memories unfolded like pages of a cherished book. Elizabeth's laughter echoed in her mind— the way it tinkled like wind chimes on a breezy day, a sound that had become synonymous with joy and comfort. Y/N couldn't imagine a world where that laughter faded, where Elizabeth became a distant echo rather than the melody that accompanied the rhythm of their lives.
Lost in her contemplation, Y/N couldn't help but think aloud. "You know, Liz," she began, turning to face her long-term girlfriend, who was immersed in a book on the other side of the room. "There's something about the idea of recognizing your laugh anywhere that's so profound. It's like a piece of home, a constant in the ever-changing symphony of life."
Elizabeth was not just a girlfriend; she was the rhythm to Y/N's melody, the familiarity that made every moment feel like home.
Elizabeth looked up from her book, a gentle smile playing on her lips. "What got you thinking about that, love?" she asked, setting her book aside and giving Y/N her full attention.
Y/N sighed, her gaze filled with a mix of nostalgia and deep affection. "It just hit me— your laughter is like a familiar melody that I never want to forget. I can close my eyes and imagine you in any room, and your laughter would stand out. It's like a part of you that's etched into my soul."
Elizabeth's eyes softened, and she walked over to Y/N, taking a seat beside her. "You know, I feel the same way about you. Your presence, your laughter, they're the constants in my life. I can't imagine ever not recognizing the sound of your joy."
"Do you ever think about us, about our future?"
Elizabeth looked thoughtful, her eyes reflecting the golden hues of the lights, "All the time," she admitted. "I can't imagine my life without you, Y/N. You're the constant melody in my world."
Y/N's heart swelled with affection. She took Elizabeth's hand, fingers entwined in a silent promise. "I wish we could freeze these moments, make them last forever. I wish for a future where we continue to recognize each other's laughter, where we remain intertwined in this beautiful symphony of 'us.' Forever doesn't seem long enough when it comes to us, Liz."
Elizabeth smiled, her gaze never leaving Y/N's. "Forever sounds perfect, doesn't it?" she leaned in, pressing a tender kiss to Y/N's forehead. "Forever sounds perfect to me, love. As long as we're together, navigating the highs and lows of life, our laughter will always be the soundtrack of our love story."
Please don't ever become a stranger whose laugh I could recognize anywhere
The city bustled with life as Y/N strolled through the vibrant streets, the echoes of laughter and snippets of conversation forming a symphony of urban living.
One day, Y/N found herself in a quaint coffee shop, seeking refuge from the midday chaos. The aroma of freshly ground coffee beans and the soft hum of conversation enveloped her. With a steaming cup in hand, she settled into a corner seat, intending to lose herself in the anonymity of the busy café. As Y/N sipped her coffee, lost in the depths of her own thoughts, a familiar sound floated through the air— the distinct, sound cut through the ambient noise— a melodic laugh, unmistakably that belonged to none other than Elizabeth.
It was a melody etched in Y/N's memory, a sound that had once been a symphony of shared joy and love. The laughter was distant, as if carried by a gentle breeze, but it resonated deeply within Y/N. She looked around, searching for the source of the laughter. Y/N's heart skipped a beat as they turned, their eyes locking onto Elizabeth across the room, her profile framed by the soft glow of the café lights. Time seemed to pause as Y/N watched, unable to tear her gaze away. Elizabeth was engrossed in conversation with a group of friends, her laughter a harmonious blend with the chatter around her. As the laughter reached Y/N's ears, a rush of emotions flooded her. It had been so long since Y/N had heard that laugh, a sound that used to bring comfort and warmth. But now, it felt like a bittersweet melody, a reminder of what once was.
Elizabeth's laughter, once intimately familiar, now seemed like a distant echo. Y/N couldn't help but be captivated by the way her eyes crinkled at the corners, the way her joy seemed to light up the entire room. Yet, the reality struck hard— there was a gap between them now, a silence that spoke volumes. Elizabeth's laugh, once an intimate melody meant only for Y/N, now echoed in a space where they were strangers once again.
As she kept watching her used to be lover, Y/N grappled with the decision of whether to approach Elizabeth or let the moment pass like ships in the night. Summoning courage, Y/N decided to break the silence. They approached Elizabeth's table, a hesitant smile on their face.
"Hey…" Y/N greeted softly.
Elizabeth looked up, her eyes widening in surprise. "Y/N," she said, a mixture of emotions playing across her features. "It's been a while." The syllables carrying the weight of a history they once shared.
"Yeah, it has," Y/N admitted, the gap of unfamiliarity stretching between them. "I couldn't help but overhear your laugh. It's… it's still as beautiful as ever." Her voice carrying a blend of nostalgia and uncertainty.
Elizabeth's smile wavered for a moment before she replied, "Thank you. How have you been?"
Y/N's response was measured, "I've been okay. Life has its ups and downs, you know."
"Yeah, I know." Elizabeth acknowledged, their gazes momentarily locking.
The café became a witness to the delicate dance of words, the ebb and flow of a conversation that teetered on the edge of rekindling familiarity and accepting the reality of becoming strangers once more.
"I heard about your new job," Elizabeth said, her attempt at small talk. "Congratulations."
"Thanks," Y/N replied, a flicker of gratitude in their eyes. "And you? How's everything on your end?"
Elizabeth hesitated for a moment before answering, "It's been a journey. Ups and downs, like you said."
Y/N nodded, a sense of shared understanding hanging in the air. "It was good seeing you." she finally said, her gaze lingering for a moment before she turned to go her separate way.
"You too…" Elizabeth replied, a mixture of emotions bubbling beneath the surface.
As Y/N left the coffee shop, the sound of Elizabeth's laughter lingered in the air, a haunting reminder of what was lost. They walked away, each step carrying the weight of a past that had shaped them, a love that had left its indelible mark, and the bittersweet knowledge that some connections, no matter how profound, could unravel and become memories of a time when two hearts beat as one.
Y/N, caught between the past and the present, couldn't shake the feeling that some melodies, once so intimately known, might now forever remain distant echoes.
And now, Elizabeth become a stranger whose laugh she could recognize anywhere.

I wake up to a bright, sunny, beautiful morning, and stretch before putting my glasses on. I walk outside to my mailbox to see if I've gotten any mail, and find a zebra standing in the middle of an empty town. I was about to go over and introduce myself when I feel a hoof cover my mouth, and another yanking me into the Sugarcube Corner just next door where all my friends are hiding out in the dark.
Once I've been released, I ask, "What the- Why did you do that?!"
Applejack shushes me with her hoof, and Apple Bloom asks, "Did you see her? Did you see... Zecora?"
Is that the zebra's name?
Applejack whisper-shouts, "Apple Bloom! I told you never to say that name."
I say, "I was about to go introduce myself before you guys so rudely interrupted me."
Twilight says, "Well, I saw her glance this way..."
Pinkie says, "Glance evilly this way."
Twilight continues, "And then a bunch of you flip out for no good reason."
Applejack says, "No good reason? You call protectin' your kin 'no good reason'? Why, as soon as my sister saw Zecora ridin' into town, she started shakin' in her little horseshoes."
Apple Bloom protests, "Did not!"
Applejack continues, "So I swept her up and brought her here."
Apple Bloom corrects, "I walked here myself!"
Applejack finishes, "For safe keepin'."
Apple Bloom exclaims, "Applejack, I'm not a baby! I can take care of myself!"
Applejack says, "Not from that creepy Zecora."
I ask, "Why are you all so scared of her?"
Fluttershy responds, "She's mysterious."
Rainbow adds, "Sinister."
Pinkie adds over-dramatically, "And spooooooky!"
Twilight groans, but I just raise my eyebrow in confusion at my friends' antics. We look out the window and Zecora turns toward us, her eyes glowing a little in the shifting light, and everyone but Twilight and I gasp in fear.
Twilight angrily asks, "Will you cut that out?"
Rarity says, "Just look at those stripes! So garish!"
That's a little xenophobic, isn't it?
I say, "She's a zebra."
Everypony but Twilight and I ask, "A what?!"
I repeat, "A zebra."
Twilight adds, "And her stripes aren't a fashion choice, Rarity. They're what she was born with."
Rarity faints, and Applejack asks, "Born where? I've never seen a pony like that in these parts, 'cept... her!"
Twilight says, "Well, she's probably not from here, and she's not a pony. My books say that zebras come from a faraway land, but I've never seen here in Ponyville."
I say, "Me neither. In my world, zebras mainly live in eastern and southern Africa, but I'm guessing that's not a country in Equestria. Where does Zecora live?"
Applejack says, "That's just it. She lives in... the Everfree Forest!"
We hear something crash loudly, and find Spike standing in front of a dropped cookie sheet, a sheepish look on his face.
Twilight groans, "Spike!"
He says, "Uh, sorry."
Applejack explains, "The Everfree Forest just ain't natural. The plants grow..."
Fluttershy adds, "Animals care for themselves..."
Rainbow adds, "And the clouds move..."
Applejack, Fluttershy, and Rainbow all exclaim in unison, "All on their own!"
Rarity faints again as I say, "So... it's like a regular forest in my world. It really wasn't that different when we were there a few weeks ago other than the magic, but I assume magic's the norm here."
Pinkie exclaims, "And that wicked enchantress Zecora lives there doing her evil... stuff! She's so evil I even wrote a song about her!"
Rainbow groans, "Here we go."
Pinkie sings, "She's an evil enchantress, and she does evil dances, and if you look deep in her eyes she will put you in trances. Then what will she do? She'll mix up an evil brew, then she'll gobble you up in a big, tasty stew, so... Watch out!"
She pants heavily, and Twilight says sarcastically, "Wow. Catchy."
Pinkie says, "It's a work in progress."
Twilight says, "This is all just a lot of gossip and rumors. Now tell me; what exactly have you actually seen Zecora do?"
Rainbow says, "Well... Once a month, she comes into Ponyville."
Twilight over-dramatically says, "Oooooh."
Rarity adds, "Then, she lurks by the stores."
Twilight sarcastically remarks, "Oh, my."
Fluttershy adds, "And then, she digs at the ground."
Twilight adds, "Good gracious! Okay, I'm sorry, but how is any of this bad? Maybe she comes to town to visit?"
Apple Bloom adds, "Yeah! Maybe she's just tryin' to be neighborly."
Twilight adds, "And maybe she's not lurking by the stores, maybe she's going to them - lurk free - to do some shopping?"
I add, "Yeah. I just assumed she was just new to town, so I was going to introduce myself like when Twilight and I first came to town."
Apple Bloom asks, "You know what I think?"
Applejack says, "Apple Bloom! Hush and let the big ponies talk."
Rainbow asks, "W- what about digging at the ground? You've gotta admit that's weird."
Fluttershy adds, "What if she's digging for innocent creatures?"
I exclaim, "Flutters, you do that all the time when you're nervous! Heck, you were just doing it a few minutes ago!"
Pinkie starts singing her song again as Twilight says, "I am sure there is an explanation for everything Zecora does. And if anypony were actually brave enough to approach her, she would find out the truth."
I exclaim, "That's what I was trying to do earlier!"
We all start loudly arguing over each other until Twilight exclaims, "You ponies are being ridiculous!"
Pinkie says, "Well, I heard that Zecora eats hay."
I retort, "Pinkie, you eat hay. I eat hay. We all eat hay!"
Pinkie says, "Yeah, but I heard it's the evil way she eats hay."
I exclaim, "How do you eat hay evilly?!"
Applejack asks, "Hey, where's Apple Bloom?"
Fluttershy says, "The door's open."
Rarity exclaims, "She went outside!"
Rainbow adds, "And Zecora's still out there."
Applejack sighs, exclaiming, "That silly little filly! I told her to stay put!"
Twilight says, "Spike, you better stay here in case Apple Bloom comes back."
Spike, holding a stack of baked goods, replies, "Will do!"
We follow Apple Bloom and Zecora's hoofsteps into the Everfree Forest, finding them on the other side of a patch of blue-leaved plants.
Applejack calls, "Apple Bloom? You get back here right now!"
Zecora says, "Beware! Beware, you pony folk! Those leaves of blue are not a joke!"
I ask, "What? What does that mean?!"
Applejack grabs Apple Bloom, placing her on her back as she nervously says, "Y- you keep your creepy mumbo-jumbo to yourself, ya hear?"
Applejack, Rainbow, Pinkie, and Rarity yell at Zecora, and Twilight and I sigh.
She mutters, "Oh, brother."
Zecora repeats, backing away into the shadows, "Beware! Beware!"
Rainbow yells, "Yeah, back at ya, Zecora! You and your land curse are the ones who better beware!"
Applejack admonishes her sister, "And you! Why couldn't you just listen to your big sister?"
Apple Bloom stutters, "I... I..."
Applejack continues, "Who knows what kind of nasty curse that Zecora could've just put on you?"
Pinkie exclaims, "Just like in my song!"
She starts singing her song again, and Twilight says, "You guys, there's no such thing as curses!"
Rainbow says, "Well, that's interesting to hear from Miss Magic-Pants herself."
I say, "I dunno, Twi. A few months ago, I didn't believe in magic, and now I'm a magic-wielding unicorn! Maybe curses are real?"
Twilight explains, "Our magic - real magic - comes from within. It's a skill you're born with, or in your case, Scarlette, something you can get upon entering this world. Curses are artificial; fake magic. It's conjured with potions and incantations; all smoke and mirrors meant to scare, but curses have no real power. They're just an old pony tale."
Applejack says, "Just you wait, Twilight. You're gonna learn that some pony tales really are true."
We headed home, and I have a nightmare that night that Sunset Shimmer came to this world and cursed me, making me unable to move my mind legs. She then proceeded to punch me right in the face, and I wake up with a start, falling out of bed. When I try to stand up, my hind legs refuse to move, like I'm paralyzed. I use my magic to put my glasses on, and painstakingly crawl to Twilight's house in the hopes of a cure, and when I walk in, I see that her horn has blue polka-dots on it and it's flopped over.
Spike hands her a book, and she reads the title, then remarks, "'Supernaturals'? Spike, the word 'supernatural' refers to things like ghosts and spirits and zombies, which are just as make-believe as curses. This book is just a bunch of hooey!"
I crawl over to her, saying, "But what about this? I think Zecora really gave us a -"
Pinkie interrupts me, exclaiming with her blue polka-dotted tongue sticking out, "A pfurse!"
Spike asks, "A purse? How could it be a purse?"
Twilight asks, "Pinkie? Scarlette? What happened!"
I say, "I dunno! I just woke up this morning and my legs didn't work! Seems like a curse to me."
Pinkie adds, "Pit pawth Thecora! Thee put a curth on me!"
Spike recoils, exclaiming, "Hey! Say it, don't spray it, Pinkie!"
Rainbow keeps flying into the wall, and we hear her just outside the window, "Ow! She's trying to say- Ow! Zecora- Ow! She slapped us all with a- Ow! Curse!"
She crashes through the window and collapsed on the ground, tangled in a ladder, and I realize her wings are upside-down.
Rarity says, "I'm afraid I have to agree."
She blows a strand of her long, matted coat out of her hair, and Twilight and Spike yell in shock.
We hear Applejack's new high-pitched voice, "I hate to say I told ya so, Twilight, but I told ya so!"
I find her on the table, now the size of a roll of tape, Apple Bloom next to her. I assume she brought her here from the orchard.
AJ adds, "It's a curse, I tells ya!"
I say, "But Fluttershy seems fine."
Rarity adds, "Yes, there doesn't seem to be a thing wrong with her."
Twilight asks, "Fluttershy? Are you okay?" Fluttershy shakes her head 'no', and Twilight asks, "Is there something wrong with you?" Fluttershy nods, and Twilight asks, "Would you care to tell us?" Fluttershy shakes her head 'no', and Twilight asks, "So... you're not going to tell us?" Fluttershy nods, and Twilight asks, "'Yes' you're not, or 'yes' you will?"
Applejack exclaims, "Good gravy, girl! What's wrong with you?!"
Fluttershy says in a male voice lower than Big Mac's, "I don't wanna talk about it."
Spike laughs, pointing at all of us as he gives us nicknames, "This is hilarious! Look at all of you! We got Hairity, Rainbow Crash, Spitty Pie, Appleteeny, Flutterguy, Scarlette Paralyzed, and... uh... I got nothin'... Twilight Sparkle. I mean, seriously. I can't even work with that."
I say, "Twilight Flopple?"
Spike laughs hysterically, and Twilight laughs sarcastically, "Ha. Ha. This is no joke, Spike. Now start looking for more books so I can find a cure!"
Spike groans, and Rainbow takes off again, slamming into the wall, "I think we'll find a cure to this curse at Zecora's place!"
Twilight exclaims, "It's not a curse!"
I gesture at my hind legs, saying, "I beg to disagree."
Applejack exclaims, "I agree with Dash and Scarlette! We'll go to Zecora's and force her to remove this hex!"
Twilight exclaims, "It's not a hex, either!"
Everypony starts arguing over each other again until Rainbow says, "I don't care what you say, Twilight. It's time to pony up and confront Zecora. Come on, girls. Are you with me?"
I say, "I know I am."
Pinkie adds, "I am-pft!"
Rarity adds, "And I as well."
Fluttershy says, "Uh, I don't know. Seems awfully dangerous."
Twilight turns to look at the table, and Spike giggles as her horn flops around.
She asks, "How about you, Applejack? Applejack?"
Pinkie exclaims, "Ftee's gone-pft!"
Rarity adds, "Ah! Or some pony stepped on her!"
Twilight adds, "Or sat on her?"
We start frantically searching for our tiny friend, and Rainbow exclaims, "Rarity's hair!"
Pinkie starts rummaging around Rarity's coat, and Rarity exclaims, "Oh! Oh! Pinkie, what are you doing? Ah, really. Ah! You ever hear of personal space?"
Pinkie responds, "Nope-pft."
I notice the other missing pony, saying, "Apple Bloom's gone, too!"
Rainbow scowls, saying, "I bet they went after Zecora."
Twilight says, "Well, we better go find them. Come on girls, let's go."
I crawl after them to the door, but I find myself going less than half their speed.
I say, "Uh, can somepony help me?"
Pinkie picks me up and lays me on her back, smiling at me.
I say, "Thanks, Pink."
Rarity keeps tripping over her coat, grunting, "Oh, dear. Oh, this is so unseemly. Augh!"
Rainbow crashes into the wall, asking, "Uh, a little help here?"
Fluttershy helps her out of the wall, then falls over, taking Rainbow down with her.
She says, "Oopsie! Sorry."
Rainbow takes off, crashing again.
Fluttershy asks, "Spike? Are you coming?"
Spike responds, "Nope! Uh... gotta stay here and look for a cure." He then giggles, repeating my nickname for Twilight, "Twilight Flopple. Hehehe!"
We start walking through the forest, and Twilight says, "C'mon girls, we've got to get to Zecora's. Hurry!"
Rarity trips again, saying, "Waugh! Easier said than done."
Rainbow exclaims, "Hey, wait for me!"
She screams, flying off and crashing somewhere else far away.
The rest of us finally find a home build into a large, hollowed-out tree, and Rarity examines her reflection in the window, saying, "Oh, I look horrible."
I lift some of her coat away from her eyes, saying, "You think that's bad? Take a look at those weird decorations inside."
Rarity says, "Oh, my. That place really does look horrible. Nice decorations; if you like creepy!"
We all gasp as we spot Zecora entering the home, and she starts chanting in a native language while stirring a cauldron.
Pinkie exclaims, "Thee sthtole my sthong! Thee sthtole my sthong!"
I ask, "What are you saying?"
Rarity asks, "She stole your song?"
I say, "Oh. That makes sense. But why do you think that? Zecora's language doesn't sound even remotely like your song."
Pinkie tries singing, but can't, and stares at Fluttershy with puppy eyes.
Fluttershy sighs, then reluctantly sings while Pinkie dances, "She's an evil enchantress, and she does evil dances, and if you look deep in her eyes, she will put you in trances. Then what will she do? She'll mix up and evil brew, then she'll gobble you up in a big, tasty stew, so... Watch out."
I say, "Okay, so she's stirring a cauldron. That's... not exactly normal."
Rarity says, "You saw those terrible things. Now do you believe us, Twilight?"
Twilight responds, "Scary looking masks, confusing incantations, and a great, big, bubbling cauldron? Everything is pointing to Zecora being... bad. Or... what if Zecora is just making soup?"
Zecora stirs the cauldron and sips it, then says, "Mmm! The perfect temperature for ponies, I presume. Now, where is that little Apple Bloom?"
I exclaim, "Or what if she's making Apple Bloom soup!"
We all scream in terror, then shove the door open and run in, Zecora shouting something in her native language. Rainbow and Applejack join us, crashing through the open doorway, and Applejack lassoes herself onto Zecora's ear.
Twilight asks, "What have you done with Apple Bloom?"
Zecora exclaims, "No! No!"
She then says something in her native language. Rainbow continues crashing into shelves of potions, and Applejack is pulling on Zecora's ear.
She exclaims, "Ponies! What is this you -" Rainbow Dash crashes into the cauldron, spilling whatever was inside onto the ground, and Zecora exclaims, "No! You know not what you do! You've gone and spilled my precious brew!"
Twilight growls, "Were into you, Zecora. I didn't want to believe that you cursed us, but the evidence is overwhelming!"
Rarity says, "You made me look ridiculous."
Fluttershy adds, "You made me sound ridiculous!"
Pinkie adds, "Pyou made me thpeak ridiculouth!"
Twilight adds, "You ruined my horn!"
I add, "You ruined my legs!"
Zecora stomps angrily, then yells, "How dare you! You destroy my home, destroy my work, then rudely accuse me of being a jerk?!"
Rainbow says, "You put this curse on us, now you're gonna un-curse us."
Zecora angrily says, "It is unwise to venture down this road. Your actions will make my anger explode!"
Twilight yells, "Where is Apple Bloom?!"
Apple Bloom bursts in, her saddlebags full of various plants.
She says, "Zecora! I think I found all the things ya asked for. What in Ponyville is goin' on here?"
Applejack gasps, "Apple Bloom! You're okay!"
Apple Bloom asks, "Why wouldn't I be?"
Twilight responds, "Because Zecora is an evil enchantress who cursed us and was gonna cook you up into a soup!"
Apple Bloom and Zecora laugh at that, and my brows furrow in confusion.
Apple Bloom says, "Oh, Twilight. Did those silly fillies get in yer head? You too, Scarlette? You know there's no such thing as a curse."
I say, "You can't honestly just stand there and say this isn't a curse, can you?"
Apple Bloom says, "This isn't a curse."
Zecora adds, "If you will remember back, the words I spoke were quite exact. 'Beware. Beware, you pony folk. Those leaves of blue are not a joke'."
Apple Bloom adds, "It was a warnin'. About that blue plant. It's called Poison Joke."
Zecora adds, "That plant is much like Poison Oak, but it's results are like a joke."
Applejack asks, "What in the hay does that mean?"
Zecora responds, "It means this plant does not breed wrath. Instead, this plant just wants a laugh."
I say, "Can someone answer in anything other than a rhyme, please?"
Twilight explains, "I think what she's saying is that when we ran in to save Apple Bloom, we ran into the Poison Joke. All our problems are just little jokes it played on us."
Applejack sarcastically retorts, "'Little' jokes? Very funny."
Rainbow asks, "Okay, fine. But what about the cauldron?"
Fluttershy adds, "And the chanting?"
Rarity adds, "And the creepy decor?"
I add, "And the rhyming?"
Zecora explains the masks, "Treasures of the native land where I am from. This one speaks 'hello', and this one 'welcome'."
Rarity mutters, "Not welcoming at all if you ask me."
Zecora explains the chanting, "The words I chanted were from olden times; something you call a nursery rhyme."
I ask, "But why do you rhyme every sentence when just speaking?"
Zecora responds, "A quirk of mine, I must presume. It's quite fun, isn't it, Apple Bloom?"
Apple Bloom nods, and Twilight asks, "But the cauldron... The Apple Bloom soup?"
Apple Bloom explains, "Lookie here, Twilight. That pot of water wasn't for me, it was for all these herbal ingredients. The cure for Poison Joke is a simple ol' natural remedy. You just gotta take a bubble bath!"
Twilight says, "But I tried to find a cure in all my books and I couldn't find anything. What book has this natural remedy?"
Zecora shows us the very book Twilight dismissed earlier, saying, "Here is the book, you see? Sad that you lack it in your library."
Twilight blushes, saying, "Actually, I do have this book, but I didn't look inside because the title was so... weird. 'Supernaturals: Natural Remedies and Cure-alls That Are Simply Super'. I... I... I'm so sorry, Zecora. I had the answer the whole time, if only I had bothered to look inside."
I lower my head in shame, adding, "And if we had just approached you with kindness instead, we wouldn't even be in this predicament in the first place."
Zecora chuckles, saying, "Maybe next time you will take a second look, and not judge the cover of the book."
Apple Bloom giggles, and Twilight asks, "Zecora? Would you be kind enough to mix up another batch of the herbal bath?"
Zecora responds, "Mix it up, I certainly will, yet I am missing an herb from Ponyville."
Apple Bloom adds, "But whenever Zecora comes to town, all the shops are 'mysteriously' closed."
Twilight says, "Oh. Well, I think we can help you with that."
We all walk back to town, and ponies run in fear, and we hear done say, "Look, Rose! How awful!" "The wicked enchantress has cursed them all!" "The horror, the horror!" "Run, ponies! Run!"
We knock on the nearest pony's door, and when she opens the door a crack, Twilight says, "Daisy, we need to talk."
We go to everypony's homes and help them understand that Zecora's not someone to be feared. We get the last ingredient and mix up the remedy in a large pool at the Ponyville Day Spa.
As we start turning back to normal and my legs work again, Twilight writes a letter with her magic, saying aloud, "'Dear Princess Celestia, my friends and I all learned an important lesson this week: never judge a book by it's cover. Someone may look unusual, or funny, or scary, but you have to look past that and learn who they are inside. Real friends don't care what your 'cover' is, it's the 'contents' of a pony that count, and a good friend, like a good book, is something that will last forever. Your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle'."
Once we're all changed back to normal, Lotus Blossom, one of the spa ponies, says, "Miss Zecora, I would love to get the recipe for this bath. It's simply luxurious!"
Apple Bloom frantically looks around, exclaiming, "Applejack! Hey, where's Applejack?!"
We all gasp, until we find Applejack with her hindquarters stuck in a bucket, now back to her normal size.
She says, "I'm right here, little sis. I ain't tiny no more!"
Rarity exclaims, "Oh! I have never felt so lovely in all my life!"
I add, "I had no idea show much I took simply walking for granted, especially because I have bad knees normally. I'll take bad knees over paralysis any day."
Pinkie resurfaces, exclaiming, "Oh, my gosh! I never realized how horrible it is not to be able to talk. I mean, I love talking so much, and when I couldn't talk anymore, my tongue was all 'pleeeh'! It was the worst! Don't you agree, Fluttershy?"
Fluttershy responds in her normal voice, "Yes."
We all laugh, enjoying being able to work like usual again.
