Hey, so quick and short post and also a warning to the authors and writers out there.

Please avoid a user name authoradvocate or author_advocate and any user similar to them. Because I’ve been posting about my original comic, SaGia, this user came up to me asking if my book was on Amazon when really, I refuse to put it on that site and I’m going with the self-publishing route. I knew something was off about this user when they asked me if my book was on Amazon, like they never seen my posts.

The conversation got really suspicious until I figured it was a bot user. When I said, “are you a bot”, they said that they weren’t and claims to be a “marketer and publisher”. And then the red flag hit when I asked “Anything else you like to say” and they replied, “that’s a great idea!”, like what?

Can’t believe I got my first bot message through this blog. I was hoping it would be a random user who would be interested in my original comic, SaGia. But nope…

I promise you, SaGia is coming real soon. I’m just waiting on my physical copies to arrive and then I’ll start signing them for the people on my Google Docs list who are interested. If you’re interested, let me know your name, how many copies, and if you want them signed before release.

Apparently a lot of writers on ao3 have been getting something similar to this in their inboxes. It seems to be a scam since there is no discord name or username to follow.

Stop Faking It

AI art is theft and as an author, I’ll never use it for anything. Not to “visualize a character concept” or “give a cover artist an idea of what I want” or even “just for fun” and here’s why:

It supports the theft of the intellectual property of other artists. Full stop. Every time you use it “just for fun” you are complacent with that theft. The artists haven’t given their permission for their art to be used, and as artists—no matter the medium—we should all stand together. If we don’t, we are looking at a world where every stolen bit of creativity is mashed together until the artists/writers/musicians are gone and all that is left is a monotone puree of what looks, sounds, and reads the same.

I thought it was cool in the beginning too until I found out how the AI learns. It’s by nature scrapping years of hard work from artists, voice actors, writers, and musicians, then lining the pockets of tech bros and others unwilling to put the time in to learn a medium and put their whole heart into it. In the end, the soul that makes art is lost in the grind of money and machinery. As an artist, I personally made the conscious choice to stand against that, and I hope you will too.

Keep making great art that comes from your personal creativity and take pride in the time it takes to perfect your craft.

Hey folks if you're a writer or author looking to make your series into a webcomic, avoid CPCPRODUCTIONS / CREATIVE PRODUCTION COMMUNITY at all cost. They were called out on Reddit a month ago, too

Don't waste your money on them, they are tracing anime pictures, anime screenshots, even AI and trying to profit out of it by providing comic making services.

I know its more than evident for several of us, but if it's true that the writer that promoted them in the Tapas forum is not really associated with them as a burner account, then she, as she claims herself a minor on Webnovel may have been scammed after paying around $100 to get her novel adapted into a comic. Thus there may be even more people or youngsters that may be at risk with these individuals

Then after being called out by several members at Tapas's forum, a "satisfied client" popped out. This person has promoted them a few weeks prior to these people making their account on the platform. And even got their account suspended for being considered a burner account of the CPC

The so called "client", if not involved with them on the scheme, then she is a victim that got scammed terribly. Because she has in her Webnovel bio that she is a teen, therefore she could have been easily manipulated into thinking this was honest work and paid around $100

The CPC tried to excuse themselves by just addressing that they do not use AI (When its pretty evident they are still tracing it) and they do not provide any excuse to justify all the plagiarism they commit.

If possible, report them/their works or let others know
