Best Things I Have Bought
I'm not sure how successful I will be in remembering all of it, but I'll try. These have all been game-changers for me, in a variety of ways. If teen me had had access to all of these, I would have been a vastly happier person.
This one is long, so I'll put in a cut.
-outlet timers. Not having to go around and manually turn off lamps at bedtime? Amazing. I bought these but you can and should get some that have a grounded outlet with three prongs so you can attach good extension cords to them.
-famotidine. aka Pepcid, it's the safest option I currently know of for managing acid reflux. I get nauseated when I get acid reflux, so this is a necessity for me.
-T-Gel shampoo. The only one that keeps my husband's insane dandruff under control. Coal tar shampoos smell peculiar, but are totally worth it if they work. For my hair, I like anti-dandruff conditioner--I apply it to my scalp and my other conditioners to the length of my hair. After bleaching my hair, I use Olaplex 3 to prevent more severe damage; the difference is very noticeable.
-white vinegar for a laundry rinse. I get horrendous contact dermatitis and adding this in the "fabric softener" cup in my washer keeps things from making my skin burn.
-on a similar note, all Oxy laundry booster. Doesn't make my skin burn but does make stains and smells noticeably better than detergent alone.
-Aquaphor. If you have eczema, nothing helps like Aquaphor, unless it's hydrocortisone ointment (the same white petrolatum base as Aquaphor but with hydrocortisone) or a prescribed steroid.
-Bissell Stomp 'N' Go pads. I have stomped. The stain goes.
-Prune puree. A packet a day keeps the chronic constipation at bay. Less volume to consume than prune juice and, in my opinion, slightly more palatable.
-Chinotto is a bitters-based beverage that I discovered by accident really helps my chronic nausea. I've tried other brands, and San Pellegrino is definitely my favorite. Tastes weird at first, but when heavy-duty ginger ale doesn't ease it, Chinotto can. And when that doesn't work, I have Zofran (ondansetron) my doctor prescribed me for the nausea I get with migraines, and that's an effective anti-nausea agent for more than just migraines.
-"You Just Need to Lose Weight (And 19 Others Myths About Fat People)" by Aubrey Gordon.
-rolling laundry cart. Doesn't have to be this one but if you CAN roll your laundry to and fro from the machines, do it.
-"Why Does He Do That? Inside the Minds of Angry and Controlling Men" by Lundy Bancroft. If you Google, you can usually find a free pdf floating around.
-"The Vagina Bible," by Dr. Jen Gunter.
-satin scrunchies. Wet Brush. Terry cloth lined shower cap. AOA terry cloth hair turban (way, way better than similar ones from drugstore).
-stretchy work pants.
-bra liners. For large-chested people who tend to get sweaty underboob, this is a life-saver.
-Goo Gone.
-Dr. Scholls medicated foot powder and the Earth Therapeutics tea tree oil foot spray. The foot powder works for super long days and the spray for lighter days.
-Reflective heat pad. I use this on my car seat in the winter and I am so happy for that every single chilly morning. I've repurchased it... once or twice? now.
-Retin-A. I used to use Differin, which is adapalene, the most potent retinoid available over the counter, but the switch to prescription-only Retin-A has been very noticeable. Decreased wrinkles, clearer skin. More inclined to flake and burn but it's worth it for me.
-Red LED therapy. Near-infrared stimulates collagen production in the skin. The only other thing that really does that is retinoids. I bought the Omnilux mask, which is certainly high-end, but HotandFlashy (a YouTube content creator) did a great comparison of different masks available by specs and this was the best at the time. The difference is noticeable within days. I've tried other, lower-powered masks, but what made me make the jump to high-end was that I got the Dennis Gross red LED eye mask for crows' feet off eBay and I was like "holy shit, this is better." And Omnilux is better still. It makes sense, since they were the OG of the models that have been in dermatology clinics for a couple of decades now.
-AOA foundation has been at least as good at my TooFaced foundation, and it's like 1-2 bucks instead of 40. There are light, medium, and deep shades, each on different pages; I'm linking to light because that's what I use. The lightest shade works for me, and I'm basically translucent.
-AOA VitaGlow tinted moisturizer is absolutely my go-to for lighter coverage days.
-AOA PawPaw blending sponges. Best out there and also the cheapest.
-(do not buy any of the AOA eyeshadows. Total waste of time, zero pigment. I've tried repeatedly and they're just garbage. The highlights are generally fine though.)
-Direct acid foot peels. The calluses come off. Just don't do it when you have ANY open wound on the feet, because it's acid and will sting like hell.
-blendercleanser solid cleanser for blending sponges and brushes. Actually a) gets them clean and b) rinses out.
-PureWine wine wands. I let these puppies sit for three minutes in a glass and suddenly I can drink red wine without migraines or hangovers. Fucking miraculous.
-Dustbuster. Holy shit it's amazing for ADHD peeps. Small thing bugging you? Can't get yourself to bust out the "real" vacuum? USE THIS.
-Crocs. Don't @ me. I wear a black pair around the house and for garden chores and they make my feet happy. Salonpas patches and/or BenGay for a topical when you're sore--topicals are great pain relief.
-Vibrating neck pillow. Don't need it right now? Wait until your next head cold. Vibration clears sinuses.
-PooPourri. I love not having to smell poop. This, and similar products, work pretty well by trapping scent particles in the oil layer instead of letting them evaporate into the air.
-Electric snow thrower. I can't manage a large, heavy snow blower and I don't want to deal with a gas engine. This little guy helped me clear my large driveway in 3-4 hours instead of 12.
-The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark, by Carl Sagan.
-Handheld home IPL for hair removal. I ordered this exact one and I like it. You can get these on eBay or Amazon for cheaper sometimes; just make sure you PROTECT YOUR EYES during flashes. Targets pigment in the hair bulb so lighter skin and darker hair work better, and deeper skin tones may burn.
-Lanolin chapstick. Makes all other chapsticks I've used look like garbage.
-Steam eye masks. ShopMissA sells these and you can find them on a lot sites; shouldn't cost more than about a dollar per mask. I ended up buying an electric eye mask because I wanted to treat my dry eye and that just felt more environmentally responsible, but I love falling asleep with these on and I can't do that with my plug-in mask.
I think this is where I'll leave it--I've gone back quite a ways in my shopping history across multiple sites and thought about my daily routines--but if any of these problems torture you, these are my suggestions.

Harry sets the hair dryer down on the table beside Yasmine’s shoulder. Her eyes blink open to glance at him curiously through the mirror, hand already reaching for the dryer to take over. “Got tired?”
He shakes his head, staring back at her reflection with a pensive look.
It was his idea to dry her hair for her since her arms were sore from yesterday's therapy. Despite taking a hot bath immediately after to soothe her muscles, the ache had made it tough this morning. They’d showered together, Harry’s gentle fingers massaging the shampoo into her scalp, gliding the conditioner down her ends, and his palms carefully smearing over her eyes to remove any suds from her face. He’d held her jaw in his hands and bent down to kiss her softly, thumbs rubbing over her wet cheeks.
He’d usually be handsy in the shower, but this time he only held her and kissed her face, eyes never straying from hers. It unnerved her for him to be so silent, but it also excited her to have all his attention.
“What is it?” she asks him, because a silent Harry is something to be worried about.
Harry almost smiles at the immediate frown on her face. It’s a default expression for her, and oh how he loves it. “What do you think about marriage?”
Yasmine freezes. The frown disappears, but it’s now replaced by apprehension.
“Marriage,” she repeats.
“Mhmm.” He runs his thumb over the back of her neck. She shivers.
“It’s. Well, it’s marriage.”
“Astute, my love.”
“It’s legally binding.”
“That it is.”
“Webster Dictionary defines it as–”
“Yasmine,” Harry says quietly, but firmly. “First thought that comes into your head. Go. Marriage.”
She blinks and automatically replies, “You, of course.” And then she has the audacity to look concerned with her own answer. “Oh.”
He smiles fully then, whirling her around so she can see his face. She looks up at him quizzically, but lets him push her hair back over her shoulders. Instead of kissing her, he hugs her to his torso, pressing her face into his stomach. “Okay.”
“Okay?” she says, muffled against his shirt.
“Just wanted to see something.”
He squeezes her tightly, hard enough to make her wince, but not hard enough to make her cry out. He smooths his hands down her back then, and then releases her, reaching for the dryer again.
“Whoa,” Yasmine says, placing her hand on his to stop him. “Listen, I’m not a very big romantic person, but there’s no way I’m going to allow you to propose to me while you’re drying my hair!”
Harry ponders over this for a minute. “Would it help if I got on one knee?” And then he does so, bringing the dryer along with him.
“Harry!” She puts her hands on each shoulder, scooting closer to him. The wild look in her eyes is still there, but it’s now mixed with…delight?
He shakes his head. “Yasmine, you have no faith in me. Why would I propose to you like this?”
“I don’t know! Why are you asking me about marriage?”
He gives her a pointed look. “We’ve been dating for over a year, not to mention you made me wait throughout grad school for you to come around. I hope you know that I’m fully committed to you and would like a life with you. You are mine. This is it for me.”
Yasmine feels her face flush, swallowing hard. Her heart hammers in her chest and the entire world melts away. It’s just her and this ridiculous gem of a man. “I thought that was a given. And unspoken.”
“It was. But now I’m saying it out loud so you know. Because I know things get lost between us sometimes, but I need to be clear now.”
Oh.
“I started dating you knowing you were the last woman I’d be with. I will do many, many things to ensure that. I will let you win as many fights as you want, put up with your worst habits if the need be. And I need to know if we’re on the same page about this.”
Something inside her squeezes. He looks so serious, eyes unwavering, jaw set, that it makes her shiver again. He’s rarely ever this intense about anything. His hand strays from the dryer, taking one of her hands instead, pressing her open palm to his heart.
“Of course,” Yasmine blurts. She grabs his shirt, tugging him a little closer. “We’re on the same page about that. You can’t get rid of me now.”
Harry nods once. “Good.” He then kisses the top of her head and then stands, her hand falling away when he reaches his full height. He manually turns back around and parts her hair once more, ready to dry it again.
“Harry,” she says before she gets drowned out.
“Hm?”
“I don’t have high expectations about a proposal. I need to clarify that.”
He finally smiles, his eyes clearing. He kisses her head again, more firmly, and then sighs against her. “It’s been years and you still think so little about my wooing skills.”
“I’m just saying. It doesn't have to be big.”
“I know, baby.”
The pet name makes her inwardly soar. “But just not while drying my hair.”
“It would make me happy,” he admits softly. “To propose while taking care of you. Something I consider my only purpose.”
“I mean it.” She tries to sound strict, her breath catching at the confession. She fails completely.
“I know,” he says again, and then hugs her tightly. “I know.”

MAIN MASTERLIST | BNHA MASTERLIST | TAGLIST
— ☾⋆⁺₊ 👊🏻 📗✧
pretty boy- the prettiest
alright!! let’s start with wash day!!
…nigga did not know shit-
poor baby grew up with inko, bless her straight headed soul, so he had no clue how to probably take care of his hair
all he had was h e a t d a m a g e
“zuku, how do you do your hair?” “huh?” “like what do you do?” “uh well, nothing really, i just wash it, that’s it.” “…” “what? why are you making that face- IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH MY HAIR?!?”
everything…everything is wrong…
aight sis, grab yo detangler, rat-tail comb, hard brush, sulfate-free shampoo, co-wash, conditioner, deep conditioner, protein treatment, all your oils, patience, and strength
and for the love of everything that is great- throw away his 3-in-1 before he give me a fucking heart attack
chile- you couldn’t even see his fucking scalp. his hair was so matted and curled up tightly together that it hurt to look at it
don’t let him go out this house like this no mo, hear me?
but it’s nothing you can’t fix, give the lil boy head some TLC and watch them curls pop!
first wrap that towel around his shoulders, put a pillow on the floor and sit him down in between ya legs and start the marathon of old all might and black people movies you gon’ be there for a while
lil boy would not sit still and he was tender-headed pick a struggle; at this point it was either get popped by you or suffer the pain from his scalp…he chose the latter
mans almost fell asleep while you was shampooing his hair and when you put the hot oil treatment on his scalp- slumber
after everything, you twisted his hair and gave him a bonnet
“uhm...why are you giving me a hat?” you almost slapped the taste outta his damn mouth
after explaining, he put it on; little did he know it was an expect copy to yours, just a different size
“baby, we’re matching!” ”yes, izu, we are. do you wanna take pictures?” you have just made his night.
the pictures were posted all over insta and has them pinned on his account you betta bet mina was all in the damn comment section ; later, he would print them out and put them on his desk so he can look at when he sat down or went to bed
when you took his hair down the next day, he went to the mirror and baby had stars in his eyes
“it looks so cool!” “i’m glad you like it, izu”
he talks about you to all might all the fucking time to the point they both know you better than ya damn self
which is really annoying because all might be wanting them "one on one" talks and it will irk you to talk to him because everything will be "but young midoriya said..."
to be honest, he went to all might for love advice....don’t ever let him do that again. mans was using the most corniest lines but since it was izuku, he got away with- tell me you not cheesing thinking about him saying the "roses are red, violets are blue line" with the cutest blush...im waiting
golden hour, his favorite time of the day
this man will drop everything just to see you at golden hour like when the sun is just starting to set, he will rush into ya dorm room just to watch you
it's like therapy for him to see you relaxing under the setting sun and see your brown skin shining, i just feel like this time would be the time he reminds himself that he is incredibly lucky to have you and will literally do anything to keep you relaxed like this
"zuku babes, what are you looking at?" "nothing~" "whew boy you are so far gone" "hm?" "oh! uh...love you !" "hm, love you too~"
side note: ...if you hear a camera click, don't be surprised
izuku loves affection, giving and receiving
his giving love languages is acts of service and a lil bit of quality time; his receiving love language is physical touch and words of affirmation
so it’s important that you meet in the middle and give him praise, shit works like a charm
go up to him, pat and rub his curls and tell him that he did a good job and one of two things will happen
one: he'll tear up a lot and ask if you're sure or two: he'll blush really fucking hard
as for his giving love, he'll just kinda follow you now until he is told to leave. don’t do that. just don’t.
let him leave on his own, you'll make him feel like he's bothering you otherwise
ask him for cuddles, he’ll drop almost anything he is doing to do so
even if you just drop hints about it, he’ll just smile and just take you somewhere quiet before sitting down or laying down to take a nap with you (nap dates with zuku !)
i think my heart just busted outta my chest i love him so fucking much
if you wanna match his acts of service, when he’s sick or just really busy at hero work studies, take notes for him in class. he will love you forever i promise.
and best believe, that he wants your attention on him at all times
remember them head pats? let’s say you give them to todoroki or tsu for doing some reason
poor thing is definitely sitting in a corner somewhere sulking
he doesn’t want to get upset because that’s his friends and he's glad that you are getting along but he would be lying if he didn't feel a little salty about it
later on, he will ask for some and if you refuse for any reason, he’ll look at you like you just tore out his heart…cause ya did
and GOD FORBID if you give more attention to bakugo instead of him…it is now in God’s hands
he’s throwing you over his shoulder and walking away from bakugo, not before throwing him a glare which later on ensues another fight between them
he only did it because he doesn’t like you getting too close to bakugo, no matter how much he cares about him being his childhood friend
i would like to think there's always that underlying fact that yes, you can handle yourself, but he also knows just how capable bakugou is and lowkey does not want to risk it
please remind him that you do love him and that he is a good boyfriend with all the hugs, cuddles, and all that other good shit
he loves to write about you in his notes, he has AT LEAST 4 notebooks about everything about you as well as somethings he wish to say to you and a little souvenirs from moments between you two that he found special
he has a special item from the time he figured out that he loved you and wrote down in detail what happened and how he felt about it
when you find these notebooks, do not, i repeat, DO NOT tell him that you found. just take the damn notebook while you can and run
give it back and you'll never see it again.
but most definitely tell him about all the things you read and watch him turn bright red
“so, you did get jealous when I gave Sero that hug the other day?” “HUH?!?!? H- H- HOW DID YOU FIND OUT!!?” “*holds up notebook marked ‘Y/n L/n’* Maybe because wrote about it…in detail” *cue the screams of embarrassment and horror*
nah but the amount of times the boy has gone off on a tangent about the little things he loves about you in there will get you flustered-
for drama sake, let’s talk about uraraka
short story: you almost knocked that bitch teeth in
long story: yes, deku used to like her and yes, she almost got him but that did not work out and guess who got him first ! tbh, you started out good friends with uraraka apart from the dekusquad but she never told you about her lil crush until it was too damn late !
and little miss thing was not happy about it; “after all this time…he gets with her!!”
i think you noticed at first her lil sly ass actions and remarks but don’t give in, let her make a fool of herself and watch her run around in circles
be calm and stay two steps ahead, it will work out in your favor ! and it did !
the next person that noticed was tsu, however, she was on your side about this because she hates petty shit and people so what uraraka was doing was not to her liking at all !
the other two, iida and shoto, caught on to it (iida wanting uraraka to at least remain civil and shoto just watching from afar) but deku remained oblivious for a while
he just wanted to be friends with everyone so he kinda just...didn't notice or thought she was mad about something else
i feel like uraraka would get beside herself and start saying reckless ass shit to express her frustration but it would only end up with her getting her ass beat and shunned from the group until she got her act together
you can guess what she said but all imma say is….she really lost her god damn mind and paid the price
what's worse is she really did try to make it seem like you stole from her...but dum dum was the one who didn't speak up? until the very last minute? which...sounds like a personal problem? sssoooooo, stay mad?
everyone in class did figure it out and it was just lowkey sad to see her get so messy but in the end !
izuku loves you very much and would do anything for you
you are his happiness and he’s thinking about spending forever with you

only one (1) coherent thought in my skull right now and it’s domestic steddie with Steve washing Eddie’s hair after he’s discharged from hospital post-Vecna.
I’m imagining Eddie’s being discharged to Steve’s house, because Steve is but a simple man with a saviour complex (and also a crush on Eddie) so he’s letting Wayne and Eddie stay with him. Partly so they have somewhere to be while the government sorts out some new housing for them, but mostly because Eddie needs support for these first few weeks out of hospital and Wayne is away at work a lot. Having Steve around as well means Eddie won’t end up in a situation where he needs a hand but is stuck home alone for hours.
Eddie’s recovered enough for discharge but still requires a lot of physical therapy, and one of the things he still can’t do is raise his arms above his head. He can’t wash his hair pretty much at all, and while the nurses washed it for him in hospital, they didn’t do it frequently enough for Eddie’s standards. His hair has been driving him insane, as the limp, greasy feeling against his face, neck and scalp makes him want to claw his skin off. When he’s told how long it’s expected to take before his arms have full range of motion again, he makes a joke-that’s-not-really-a-joke about going back to his buzzcut days just to avoid dealing with the feeling.
Steve is horrified at the suggestion, and immediately offers to wash Eddie’s hair for him. He also divulges that part of the reason he styled his hair the way he did in high school was because he played a lot of sports, and couldn’t stand the feeling of sweaty hair against his neck and face. Sure, he genuinely did want his hair to look good, but styling it up so it was out of his face was an added bonus.
Eddie’s hair is driving him so crazy that he says yes, especially once he realises Steve might actually get where he’s coming from.
Cue an emotionally tense shower, where both Steve and Eddie are stripped down to their boxers because they don’t want to this fully clothed but they sure as fuck don’t want to do it naked, either. (Spoiler alert, they’d both actually love to have a naked shower together, they’re just both too nervous to bring that up at this stage!)
But then Eddie slips while in the shower, still unsteady on his feet and learning to adjust to his bad leg, so Steve makes an executive decision to switch over to the bath. After a bit of manoeuvring they find a comfortable position to do this; Eddie sitting in front of Steve in the bath, Steve’s legs stretched out either side of him. Between the physical intimacy of having your hair washed by someone else, and the way they don’t have to look at each other’s faces as they do this, they end up talking. They get a lot more personal than they were able to in hospital or during Spring Break, and it’s such a nice experience that they’ll each happily put up with the sensory hell of waterlogged boxers.
Eventually - after Eddie and Wayne have moved into their new place, but Eddie and Steve are over at each other’s houses often enough that they might as well still be living together - Eddie can move his arms enough to wash his hair on his own. He’s gotten more used to his bad leg and can stand long enough to even shower if he wants to. They go about three weeks with Eddie washing his own hair, both of them desperately missing this little routine they’d built but not wanting to admit it. One day, however, Eddie feels so lonely and so tired from physical therapy that day that he asks Steve to wash his hair for him. Steve accepts in a heartbeat, almost before Eddie’s even had time to say the words.
It feels different that time. The energy between them is charged, everything feeling more intimate somehow. It’s so palpable a difference that after Steve runs the conditioner through Eddie’s hair to let it sit for a few minutes, Eddie turns around in the bath to face Steve. He takes a breath, trying to steel his nerves, and asks: can I kiss you?
Steve doesn’t answer him; he thinks the way he leans in and slots his lips in between Eddie’s is answer enough.

When you got together, your hair was short. A pixie cut, i guess it would be described as. Eddie had hair to a little past his shoulders. You didn't think it would bother you, but jealousy crouched in your chest whenever you helped him wash it, tie it up. You stopped going to trims, growing your hair out passively. After about 2 months of not trimming it, you were laying on Eddies chest as he played with your hair. "Your hairs getting long baby", he says, running his fingers through the shorter strands at the bottom of your head. "I know. Im growing it out.", you reply nonchalantly, rolling over to look at him. He gasps and sits up, throwing you off of him.
"Eddie?", you half laugh as he runs to the bathroom, coming back a minute later with a handful of haircare products. "Here baby I have extras! Come in the bathroom ill show you how to wash properly. Look i even have these!", he gushes, guiding you into the bathroom, helping you undress and into the shower. He tells you all about what products to use, how much water to drink, what to eat for the best hair growth as he washes your hair. "Ok so conditioner then shampoo then conditioner again. Oh and you can do inversion therapy which is where you hand upside down and massage your scalp, ill show you how to do it later baby. And ill make you some rosemary and sage water, its so good for your hair."
He helps you out of the shower, explaining that you shouldn't scrub your hair, and not to brush it straight out of the shower unless you have really curly hair. He gently wraps your hair in a t shirt and leads you out into the kitchen where he starts to make the rosemary and sage water, the kitchen filling with the smell of rosemary.
He was always gentle with you. A year later and your hair had grown out to a little past your shoulders, and he was very proud of himself. Reminding you to drink water, brushing your hair gently and putting products in it whenever you stayed over. Soft and shiny, you got compliments from everyone about your hair, smiling and pointing to your boyfriend.
A few years later, and both of you had hair to your waists. It had become an important part of your day, braiding each other's hair before bed, brushing it in the morning and putting it into that days style. Braids, buns, ponytails. Special occasions were marked by intricately braided hair, dozens of plaits skillfully arranged. You both took a great deal of pride in it.
He had proposed months ago. He was careful to pick a ring that didn't have sharp angles so it wouldn't snag in your hair. You sat together early the morning of your wedding, weaving the others hair into beautiful patterns. You ordered black roses months before, sewing and weaving them into his braids. He did the same for you, the bouquet of your wedding sewn into both of your hair.

“I’m going on vacation for the rest of the month,” Raynor had announced during their last session. “And I think, to kill two birds with one stone, you should try a support group again.”
“What two birds?” he’d asked.
“Therapy and company,” she’d explained easily. Like she’d known he’d have something to say about it. “Support for the holidays while I’m away, and company because I don’t think you should be alone going into the new year.”
(She’d given him space to object. He knew what she was looking for - a confession. Before the session, she’d witnessed him and Rue laughing, more than amicably, and while she didn’t ask about it, he knew she wanted to.)
“Fine.” He’d crossed his arms and given her a pointed look. Daring her to ask. “But I’m not going to a grief group.”
Now, he’s almost gotten through an entire session in a veteran’s group. While some of the stories were meaningful to him, the current climate of the war and the front lines were just removed enough that it didn’t trigger him. Even when the older veterans, the ones who might have seen the tail-end of his war, share their nightmares and losses, Bucky can endure it.
(And it feels like a goddamn Christmas miracle.)
A woman approaches him after the session, extending a business card. “Uh, hi.” She’s probably a little older than Rue, maybe Raynor’s age. He recognizes her as one of the people who had shared. “I’m Ana.”
He doesn’t even look at the card; he’s studying her. “Bucky,” he offers.
“I…” She lapses into a nervous laugh. “I know this is weird, but I noticed you messing with your hair a lot while I was up there… and I cut hair, so…”
“It’s that bad, huh?” His tone is flat, but she laughs, more confidently now, and he runs a hand through his hair again. He starts to feel self-conscious, but it doesn’t go far. “I honestly haven’t cut it since…”
(He doesn’t say since he’s been the Winter Soldier - it’s not like Hydra had cared about his appearance - but she fills in the blanks with whatever makes sense to her.)
“A lot of veterans don’t… keep up with their appearances,” she says gently. “I mean, I’m sure it took a long time for you to regrow your buzzcut.”
He doesn’t answer. Instead, he says, “I kinda like the long hair.”
“It suits you.”
(For once, a woman is not giving him flirty eyes. They are kind but not motherly. She sees him as a person and not an object. She understands.)
“Look, I just started working at a new salon,” she interrupts his thoughts, “and I’m building my clientele. I’m actually on my way over to work now, if you want to be my first client of the day?”
////
Ana had tried to wash his hair, but as he lowered himself to the lip of the sink, he felt anxiety scrape up his chest. Flashes of the Hydra Lab, the excruciating pain from electricity coursing through his skull, his jaw, his throat. He’d shot back up and started to make hasty excuses to leave, but she had reassured him, gently and patiently, that it was okay.
“A lot of people seize up at different parts of the cut,” she had explained. “Sometimes it’s the clippers, sometimes it’s the wash. Each person’s experience is different, and we’ve all been through a lot. I’m used to adapting.”
She had him stand and flip his head over the sink instead. She’d needed a step stool to be able to work the shampoo and conditioner through his hair. As she chatted casually about her clients, which she revealed are usually from the support group, he sunk into the feeling of her fingers moving against this scalp and the easy cadence of her voice.
(Familiarity has always been a trigger for danger, but he realizes Ana is a lot like Rebecca. When their parents died, his spunky younger sister had shifted her attention from her own endeavors to helping others. He knew it was a crutch, in the same way he’d readily thrown himself into his civic duty. Ana reminded him of Rebecca, not necessarily in a sisterly way, but in a safe way.)
When she had him under the cape, she’d told him what she was thinking for the cut, confirmed that he’d liked her ideas, and she’d detailed every step of the cut before executing it. She painstakingly only used scissors for the haircut, carding her fingers through his hair meticulously.
“Okay, so, for your facial hair, we have options.” She’d dusted off the cape with a brush before planting her fists on her hips. The rest of the shop had been pretty much deserted, except one barber and customer toward the front. “I could use the clippers and bring your hair down and leave, like, a shadow, or I could use the blade… but it’d have to be a clean shave.” She laughs at his horrified look. “Okay, okay. The other option is just shaping up what you have going on, nothing off the length. I can do that with the blade, but it’d be much faster and easier to do it with the clippers.”
“I trust you.” The words are out of his mouth before he can consider them. Even she looks slightly shocked. He doubles down, “Do what you think is best.”
“I’m partial to the facial hair,” she says, unraveling the electric razor. Again, her words have no usual subliminal context. “We’ll start with the razor for the shape up, and if it becomes too much, we’ll kick it old school with the blade.”
(For the briefest moment, at the end of the process, Bucky wonders what Rue will think.)
////
George lets out a low whistle when he sees Bucky walk through Fogwell’s doors. He’s putting on his coat while Bucky is taking off his.
“You clean up nicely, kid. Got a hot date or something?”
Bucky laughs, “Thanks, sir, but it’s nothing like that.”
“What did I tell you about calling me ‘sir’,” George swats Bucky with his hat before putting it on. Bucky laughs again. “You got a job interview or something?”
“No, I met a hairdresser,” Bucky says. “At a veteran’s support group. She offered a free haircut, and I figured it was time.”
(He feels like information is just flowing out of him today, like water from a faucet - and the handle is jammed open. His heart says, it’s okay it’s just George, but his brain screamed, you’re in dangerous waters, Barnes.)
George gives him a look he can’t place. He takes both of Bucky’s shoulders and gives them a squeeze.
“You’re doing good, kid.” Bucky is seized by a feeling he hadn’t felt in a while. Something like pride, something like gratitude. “You’re doing good.”
(When George leaves, Bucky gets a call. In Russian, on the other end of the life, he hears, I have the information you requested.)

Achieve Perfect Hair: The Best Keratin Hair Products You Need to Try
Keratin has become a buzzword in the beauty industry, especially when it comes to hair care. This protein, which is naturally found in your hair, skin, and nails, plays a crucial role in maintaining the strength, elasticity, and overall health of your hair. However, with the constant exposure to heat styling, chemical treatments, and environmental pollutants, the natural keratin in your hair can become depleted, leading to frizz, breakage, and dullness. That’s where best keratin hair products come in designed to replenish and fortify your hair, these products can help you achieve the smooth, shiny, and healthy hair you’ve always desired.
In this article, we'll explore the best keratin hair products available on the market, tailored for different hair types and concerns. By the end, you’ll have a comprehensive guide to help you select the right keratin products for your hair care routine.
The Importance of Keratin in Hair Care
Before diving into the best keratin hair products, it’s essential to understand what keratin is and why it’s vital for your hair.
Keratin is a fibrous protein that serves as the main structural element of your hair. It acts as a protective layer, shielding your hair from damage caused by external factors like UV radiation, pollution, and chemical treatments. Additionally, keratin helps maintain the strength and elasticity of your hair, preventing breakage and split ends.
Over time, however, your hair’s natural keratin can break down due to various factors, including:
Heat Styling: Frequent use of flat irons, curling irons, and blow dryers can strip your hair of its natural keratin, leaving it brittle and prone to damage.
Chemical Treatments: Coloring, perming, and relaxing treatments can weaken the hair’s structure, depleting its keratin content.
Environmental Factors: Exposure to sun, wind, and pollution can cause your hair to lose its natural keratin, leading to dryness and frizz.
To counteract these effects, best products for curly frizzy hair are formulated to replenish and restore the keratin in your hair, providing strength, smoothness, and shine.

Start with a Keratin Shampoo: Use a keratin-infused shampoo to cleanse your hair and prepare it for conditioning and treatment. This helps to remove any buildup and ensures that your hair can absorb the maximum benefits of the keratin products.
Follow with a Keratin Conditioner: After shampooing, apply a keratin conditioner to lock in moisture and add a protective layer to your hair. This step is crucial for keeping your hair smooth, shiny, and frizz-free.
Use a Keratin Hair Mask Weekly: Once a week, treat your hair to a deep-conditioning keratin mask. This will provide intensive repair and hydration, keeping your hair strong and healthy.
Apply a Keratin Serum or Leave-In Conditioner: After washing your hair, apply a keratin serum or leave-in conditioner to protect it from heat damage and environmental stressors. This step also helps to detangle and smooth your hair, making it easier to style.
Finish with a Keratin Hair Oil: For an extra boost of shine and smoothness, apply a few drops of keratin hair oil to the ends of your hair. This will give your hair a polished, frizz-free finish.
Conclusion

Hey twig! I know it's been awhile but I have a scenario for you. How would Dethklok react to a friend or s/o that has annoying coworkers and just has a bad day at their job?
@jordyndoomstar It’s ok!! I hope your like these HCs!!
Nathan- would 100% take care of his S/O’s annoying coworkers. He wouldn’t immediately tell them that he dealt with them. But the ramifications and the mere fact that the coworker just never returned to work after that day he just “randomly came for a visit” was sign enough. His S/O would be suspicious and ask around. It wouldn’t be long until the rumors of a large man in all black came in beating the living shit out of the coworkers that made his partner’s life hell. One single news story hits the media before it immediately vanished from the public eye and Charles comes to Nathan’s S/O’s workplace with a team of lawyers stating they’d be happy to pay out an undisclosed amount to pay the medical bills so long as his partner is moved to a separate team and a stringent plan is put in place so an incident like this never happens again.
Pickles - this man is the embodiment of tomfoolery. Whenever he hears that some Dick and Tom were fuckin around at work with his partner, you know he already was scheming up ways to fuck up their year. If mandated drug tests were a thing at his S/O’s job. He was for sure baking pot brownies for his partner’s lunch with a little note that said “for your special friend”. He’d send spam emails to their accounts both work and personal laughing all the while when he got replies like “unsubscribe” like that was going to help anything. On days when his partner came home bawling from work he’d stay up all night and go out early just to swipe the Amazon packages from the dickheads lawns.
Murderface- this man went full psycho mode. He holds his partner tight as they cry and make promises they know he’ll never keep. He swears he’ll hunt them down and go full Ed Gein on their ass. If they thought they could walk on his partner! Wait til he turned them into luxury rugs! Or even better. He’d contract what’s his name German man to do it ya know his partner remembered… the guy that made the sexy human suit his partner loved to see him in so much. Maybe he’d make one for them. Talking so wildly made his S/O laugh and giggle something they desperately needed and even if they knew he’d never do anything to hurt them. The mere distraction of it all was more than enough of a relief for them.
Skwisgaar - used another more… physical form of distraction to help soothe his partner’s anxiety and stress. An amazing spa treatment complete with massage, therapy sessions, nails, hair treatments, and personalized skin treatments. He showered with his partner, rubbing soothing suds into their skin, allowing the warm water to ease their stress away. Massaging their scalp with his nails he was sure to pull the shampoo the full way through each and every strand of hair, rinsing it thoroughly before applying conditioner to the ends of his partner’s hair. He helped to moisturize and massage his partner’s full body laying them on the bed naked so he could apply their face mask and cucumbers while they talked about everything bothering them and he applied stay in conditioner.
Toki - this boy is a cuddler. Not a fixer. He’s more likely to cuddle up to his S/O after a rough day than he is to suggest anything. He’d order take out. Lots and lots of take out. Whatever his partner wanted. From wherever they wanted. Even if he hated it. He made sure to DoorDash extra sweets too. Even if he couldn’t have any doesn’t mean his partner couldn’t just eat some. They’d watch a movie from a streaming platform. Maybe 5 or 6 all night. As they got ready for bed the pair got ready together doing their nightly routine Toki pulls his phone out to take an impromptu photo of his partner, posting it to Dethstigram with the caption: “My beautiful angel makes me smile every night and day.”

Welcome to the vibrant world of beauty salon in Dubai, where innovation meets tradition, and luxury intertwines with culture. In this bustling metropolis known for its skyscrapers and desert landscapes, beauty is not just a concept but a way of life. From the latest hair and skincare trends to innovative treatments and personalized rituals, Dubai's beauty scene offers a tapestry of experiences that cater to every individual's unique style and preferences.
Hair Artistry: Customized Color Blends
Dubai's Hair and beauty salon are renowned for their artistry in creating customized color blends that enhance natural beauty. Embrace the trend of "root smudging" for a seamless transition between hair colors, minimizing harsh lines and creating a softer, more natural look. Ask your stylist about incorporating subtle highlights or lowlights to add dimension and depth to your hair color, achieving a personalized and stunning result.
Hair Care Routines: Nourish and Shine
To achieve luscious locks, start with a nourishing hair care routine. Use sulfate-free shampoos to retain moisture and follow up with a hydrating conditioner. Opt for regular hair spa treatments to strengthen your strands and prevent breakage. Ask your stylist about custom hair masks for an extra boost of hydration tailored to your hair type.
Skincare Regimes: Glow from Within
Living in Dubai's desert climate requires special attention to hydration in skincare, especially when indulging in the best facial in Dubai. Due to the arid environment, your skin may need extra nourishment to stay healthy and vibrant.
One effective strategy is to opt for skincare products enriched with desert botanicals like prickly pear oil or camel milk. These ingredients are renowned for their moisturizing and nourishing properties, providing your skin with the hydration it craves in a dry climate. Incorporating such products into your skincare routine can complement the benefits of your facial treatment, leaving your skin feeling refreshed and revitalized.
DIY Maintenance: Pamper at Home
Between salon visits, pamper yourself with DIY treatments for hair and skin. Create a nourishing hair mask using coconut oil, honey, and avocado to restore shine and softness. For glowing skin, try a homemade exfoliating scrub with sugar and olive oil to slough off dead cells and reveal a fresh complexion.
The Art of Hair Colouring: Trends and Tips
When it comes to hair color, Dubai's salons offer a spectrum of options to express your style. From balayage to bold hues, consult with a color specialist to find the perfect shade for your skin tone. Opt for ammonia-free dyes for a gentle yet vibrant color that lasts longer without damaging your hair.
Skincare Innovations: Science Meets Beauty
Dubai's best facial treatments combine science and luxury to transform your skin. Explore treatments like microdermabrasion, which uses tiny crystals to exfoliate and rejuvenate the skin's surface. For acne-prone skin, consider LED light therapy to reduce inflammation and promote healing. Hydration-focused facials with hyaluronic acid are perfect for plumping and hydrating dry or aging skin.
While focusing on hair beauty, don't forget the importance of scalp health. Dubai's salons offer innovative scalp treatments that promote healthy hair growth and scalp balance. Treat yourself to a scalp detox treatment to remove build-up and revitalize your scalp, followed by a soothing scalp massage using essential oils like tea tree or peppermint for a refreshing and invigorating experience.
Choosing the Right Facial: Tailored to Your Needs
Finding the best facial treatment in Dubai starts with understanding your skin concerns. For acne-prone skin, look for facials with salicylic acid or glycolic acid to unclog pores and prevent breakouts. Anti-aging facials often include ingredients like retinol and peptides to stimulate collagen production and reduce fine lines. Hydrating facials with hyaluronic acid and antioxidants are ideal for dry or dehydrated skin, restoring moisture and radiance.
With these insider tips and trends, you're equipped to embrace Dubai's beauty scene with confidence. From nourishing hair care routines to science-backed facial treatments, prioritize self-care and indulge in the transformative power of beauty rituals. I WROTE ANOTHER FANFIC!!
Somehow I whipped this up in one night while I'm cooking up something else HAHAHA
Anyways, here it is-
"Finally.. home.."
Ralph thought to himself, looking at the porch of his house. The dim light of the porch light filling him with a sense of security. He didn't hesitate to step forward and open the door. Ralph breathed in, and immediately headed to the bathroom. His dad was asleep, but if he woke up he was sure that he would understand. Ralph looked at his self in the mirror. He could barely tell that the boy he was looking at was him.
His hair was awful. Tangled. Filled with sticks and leaves. Sun bleached. Turned white and thinned from stress. His skin was darker than ever. Red. And no longer flawless like he would like it. And obviously his clothes were just rags.
Ralph immediately started to take off his clothes, and hopped into the shower.
Ralph's body relaxed instantly. Feeling the hot water wash away all the gunk and sweat off of him felt like the closest thing to heaven. He got some shampoo on his hand, massaging it into his scalp. It felt amazing. Pure bliss. He did the same with the conditioner. And soon moved on to washing his body with soap as well. Once that was done, he just relaxed. Tilting his head back, and closing his eyes. Ralph's showers are normally ten ish minutes. But he felt like he's been there forever. And he never wanted to leave. But he'd have to get out at some point. Besides, he didn't like it when his fingers got all prune-y. He soon opened his eyes, turned the water off and stepped out.
He dried himself with a towel. Already feeling better. He tied the towel around his waist, and then reached over for the cabinet. Unsure what to grab first, considering that there was so much.
He grabbed the Band-Aids first. He examined his body in the mirror, putting bandaids wherever there was an injury.
Once he covered all the wounds that was small and proper enough for a bandaid, Ralph put them away. And then soon reached for his toothbrush.
He did the basic procedure, brushing his teeth. He did it for a long time, making sure every individual tooth was brushed. He washed it out with water. And soon went on to floss. After he was done, his teeth weren't as white as they normally were. But dang it was an improvement.
He then was going to do something he might regret. He dug through the cabinet. After what seemed like forever, he found them. Scissors. He gave the air a few snips. Before lining them with his hair. He breathed out, before snipping it. And then again. And again. And again. The white locks of hair falling to the ground.
After he was done, he put the scissors back. He ruffled his hair. It was slightly uneven, but jeez it was wayy better than the mop he had earlier. Besides. He could go to the barber, or his dad could cut it if it looked that bad.
Ralph then moved on to his skincare. He was slightly embarrassed by what he puts on his face, especially since it's viewed that women only care about their looks. But Ralph cares, too. At least, he prefers to feel clean. He put on lotion and moisturizer. And he even put some around his arms, hands, and even his neck. Plus his face.
Ralph turned off the light to the bathroom, and walked out into the kitchen. He got a glass, and filled it up with water. He started drinking it, but that soon turned into chugging. Regarding that he hasn't had fresh water in a looong time. After that one was done, he got himself another. He drank about four glasses until he finally felt satisfied for the night.
He breathed out, heading to his room. He untied the towel, and put on some nice, clean clothes. And then he climbed into his clean, comfy, not sand, bed.
Ralph sighed contently, pulling up the blanket and closing his eyes.
Obviously, not everything was okay, but it sure felt like it at this moment. All the crap and therapy and questions would come later. But for now, Ralph was finally in the comfort of his bed. Ralph snuggled in his sheets. And finally, for what seems like the first time in forever, Ralph fell into a deep, soothing sleep.
#lotf fanfic#lotf#lotf ralph#I FINALLY GAVE RALPH THE THNGS HE DESERVE#UGH#im going insane guys#its 11:15 at night and im running off of sheer compliments and two fans of off vrand Dr. Pepper

Difference between Hair Conditioner and Hair Spa?
Difference between Hair Conditioner and Hair Spa?
Hair Conditioner and Hair Spa are both hair care products or treatments, but they serve different purposes in promoting hair health. Here's a breakdown of the differences between them:
Hair Conditioner:
Purpose: Hair conditioners are designed to moisturize and detangle the hair.
Application: Typically used after shampooing, hair conditioners are applied to the hair and left on for a short period before rinsing.
Benefits: Conditioners help in smoothening the hair cuticle, reducing frizz, and making the hair more manageable.
Ingredients: They often contain moisturizing agents, such as oils, silicones, and proteins, to nourish the hair.
SEO-Optimized Description for Hair Conditioner: Ensure your content includes relevant keywords like "best hair conditioner," "moisturizing conditioner," and "hair care products." Use phrases that potential users might search for, such as "how to use hair conditioner" or "benefits of using a conditioner."
Hair Spa:
Purpose: Hair spa is a more comprehensive treatment that aims to rejuvenate and revitalize the hair and scalp.
Application: Hair spa treatments involve multiple steps, including massage, application of hair mask, and sometimes steam therapy. It is often done in salons.
Benefits: Hair spa treatments are designed to address specific hair issues such as damage, dryness, or dandruff. They provide deep conditioning, nourishment, and relaxation for the scalp.
Ingredients: Hair spa products may contain a blend of essential oils, vitamins, and other intensive conditioning agents.
SEO-Optimized Description for Hair Spa: Incorporate keywords like "hair spa treatment," "scalp rejuvenation," and "deep conditioning." Create content that addresses common hair concerns and how a hair spa can be a solution. Consider phrases like "professional hair spa benefits" or "DIY hair spa at home."
In summary, while hair conditioners focus on daily moisturizing and detangling, hair spa treatments offer a more intensive, holistic approach to nourishing and rejuvenating the hair and scalp. Optimizing your content with relevant keywords will help users find the information they are looking for in the vast online space.
