Arctic fribble

Tint is the oldest out of their siblings. They have a fascination with dragons, and between them and their siblings, a lot has been learned about the powerful reptiles. They recognize how integral dragons are to the Fritz, and now that they’ve vanished, Tint takes extra care to preserve all their information, as well as trying to figure out who they can share it with.

She/her

Arctic fribble

Tone has partial melanism. She’s the youngest out of the siblings, and the most adventurous. Due to this, she was the one who went out the most to find out things about dragons, when they still roamed the Fritz. She also runs down most of the faster prey when she and her siblings hunt, and keeps a small collection of skulls.

He/him

Arctic fribble

Shade is an arctic fribble with melanism. As it’s much harder for him and his sister Tone to camouflage against the snow, they have a harder time hunting. To remedy this, they both live with their third sibling Tint and survive together as a 3-fribble unit, in contrast to the commonly solitary lives of arctic fribbles. He has an affinity for jotting things down, and so has found creative ways to document all their information about dragons.

Danny squirms and hisses, trying to dig his claws into dark scales as the clouds whistle by. “Wait- Ancients dammit- STOP!” he shrieked, cursing how tiny his own ghost form was compared to his other not-quite-future-self. Wings that could easily dwarf the entire Ops center beat through the air, fast enough to cause his eyes to sting. 

“Dan- bring me back- stop-” he wailed, despite the grip on his scruff not even loosening. Yet the larger dragon didn’t so much as twitch back towards Amity, the city disappearing into the distance like a speck. “We have to go back-” 

The GIW were- were- They had to go back! The portal was gone (exploded, broken and all of Fentonworks a smoldering mess, oh Ancients he’s gonna be sick-), no one could return to the Realms, they were all sitting ducks- 

“Jordan please-” he begged, even though he already knew that between the city, between every other ghost and them, Dan would always choose to keep them safe. But Jazz was hurt, she wasn’t waking up from where she lay limply cradled in Dan’s claws. 

There was so much blood, and he only knew she was still alive from the weak fluttering of her core, growing stronger as her heartbeat faded. She needed help, she needed doctors- he doesn’t know if she would be able to come back, not with how they were leaving the ecto-rich city behind and he didn’t want to lose her- Dan’s blank panic was swamping his own, drowning both of them in the emotion as the dragon tore through the sky. Some part of him knew they couldn’t stay in Amity anymore, but- But Jazz needed help- Danny couldn’t help the tears that dripped from his yes, pretending it was merely the clouds as they flew to places unknown to him.

None of the modern terts we have work well with any of the genes we've been getting since like Flaunt and Flair. They either make the dragon look too busy (thylacine, koi, crackle, flecks, polkadot, wish), hide key parts of the primary genes (underbelly, points, scales, etc), barely make a difference (sparkle, spines) or just have always been extremely situational (looking at you, Peacock and Soap). We DESPERATELY need tertiary genes that can balance out the business of the new genes while adding to the appearence of the dragon in a significant way.

TIME FOR OC STUFF!!

Prepare for a few posts w/ info of my Scales And Tails story; this one’s some background info abt the Fritz, the world where it takes place :0

Back when dragons inhabited the earth, they were very rare, and pretty much the only magical beings. One day, a dragon who was wary of humanity decided to create a separate pocket dimension for his kind to thrive. He did this with the help of the Eldritch Ones, who oversee the creation of new dimensions. This world was dubbed the Fritz, and was built right over a certain section of Earth that was the most “magically open”, so to speak.

The fribbles formed from the magic of the Fritz, then evolved into many different species, growing and thriving alongside the dragons.

Eventually, the already-not-100%-stable Fritz got so populated that it slowly started to distort and collapse into the Earth below it. The dragons were frightened by this and most either left or went into hiding. As a result the fribbles, after a while, started to assume the dragons were all dead.

He/him

Gliding fribble

Tailwind is hyper-aware that the Fritz is falling apart. Most fribbles are desensitized to this fact and have learned to ignore it in order to be able to enjoy their lives. Tailwind in particular was almost flattened by one of these world-breaks at a young age and can’t quite relate to this mindset. He’s determined that there must be a way to make things better, to delay or even prevent their fate - though he has no idea how.

She/they (former preferred)

Mountain fribble

Alluvium gets around a lot in her mountain territory, and thanks to the high altitude, she sees a lot and is able to keep tabs on many different areas + the fribbles in them. Because she’s in such a broad scope so regularly in her life, the most amount of fun they have comes from mundane lil things, like watching the different kinds of flora and fauna on her favorite mountain spot.

Night fribble

Lurk lives in a jungle near the base of Srirocco’s group. They prove to be quite infuriating neighbors, as most of their activities happen during the day, when she sleeps, and they’re no stranger to stomping around her territory for things they need (or to try and recruit her into their group). While night fribbles in general are quite openly aggressive and territorial, in Lurk’s case her neighbor’s transgressions - and her not being able to do much about them - has watered this attitude down into a more tired, withdrawn kind of irritation.

Volcanic fribble

Fissure was brought into Srirocco’s group at a very young age. The group told Fissure that they would play an important role in their master plan, and would be the key to achieving many great things. They were made to test their fire many times on the vegetation in Lurk’s jungle. Due to the fumes which a lot of the plants generate when burned - and how much they’ve been made to use their limited ability - they’ve grown a bit narcoleptic. They were mostly treated as a means to an end by Srirocco’s group, so even if it’s all Fissure’s known, there’s still a part of them that’s been waiting for an excuse/opportunity to leave for good - especially since they’ve had a few civil interactions with Lurk and seen her side of things.
