On the 10th day of Christmas, my true love gave to me… 10 Sugar Cookies!
Sigma
Tumblr media
🤍🎰He loves cookies, and is very excited to bake them with you! He's never baked anything before, so you'll have to show him what to do.
🤍🎰He catches on pretty quickly. He's rather good at following directions.
🤍🎰His favorite part is decorating! He likes to make the cookies look super cute!
L Lawliet
Tumblr media
🖤🍰You're gonna have to tear him away from his screens. He's got mysteries to solve or something. Tell him he can't have any cookies if he doesn't help bake them!
🖤🍰He's pretty good at it and doesn't need much help. He can read the instructions, he's not stupid.
🖤🍰His favorite part by far is eating the finished cookies!
Near
Tumblr media
🤍♟️Another one that you've got to physically drag away from his work. Unfortunately, you can't bribe or threaten him like you can with L.
🤍♟️Unlike his predecessor, Near needs all the help. He has no clue what he's doing.
🤍♟️His favorite part is decorating. He like to use a lot of colorful frosting!
Mahiru Shirota
Tumblr media
🤎🙂He's the one that suggested it. He probably volunteered to make cookies for a Christmas event, and enlisted your help.
🤎🙂He is a master at baking. He's going to be the one helping you!
🤎🙂His favorite part is actually making the cookies. He likes spending time with you!
Ogai Mori
Tumblr media
🖤🩺It was his suggestion. He wants to spend time doing fun Christmas things with you and Elise! Elise was not nearly as excited.
🖤🩺You're both struggling to figure out what you're doing. Mori is a doctor, not a baker! Elise is constantly making snappy comments about how terribly he's doing.
🖤🩺Mori's favorite part is watching Elise decorate the cookies, even when she makes fun of his cookies!
Mephisto Pheles
Tumblr media
💖😈It was your suggestion. Was it a good one? Probably not. Nonetheless, Mepphy thought it was a great idea!
💖😈You're going to have to do all the actual baking while he watches. Do not let him help. He is a disaster in the kitchen and will somehow manage to ruin the cookies.
💖😈His favorite part is watching you do all the work! You just look so cute in that apron!
Ky Luc
Tumblr media
🔹🤎It was your idea, and Ky immediately agreed. He can't eat the cookies, but he's still eager to help make them!
🔹🤎He's a big help in the kitchen. You've never had a more talented helper! He's whip smart and incredibly strong, and he never needs you to repeat directions or show him what to do!
🔹🤎His favorite part is rolling out the dough and cutting out the cookie shapes! He loves how impressed you are with how easy it is for him to roll out the dough!
Sakuya Watanuki
Tumblr media
🌳☢️It's a Tsubaki squad tradition to have a big cookie baking fest! Sakuya dragged you along to keep him sane.
🌳☢️Sakuya does as little work as possible. He's happy to watch you have fun, though! Just… be careful around Tsubaki and Belkia. He's probably going to end up starting a fight that turns into a flour war.
🌳☢️Sakuya's favorite part is eating the cookies, even if it might not be the best idea.
Envy
Tumblr media
🌴🖤You threatened him with Mustang to get him to bake with you. He's a lazy little shit and doesn't want to do any work.
🌴🖤He's the worst helper ever. He just doesn't want to listen! He's also loudly complaining the entire time.
🌴🖤His favorite part is eating the cookies. He's a slut for anything sugary!
Rock Lee
Tumblr media
💚🥋It was your idea to bake cookies with him, Gai, Tenten, and Neji, and he heartily agreed! He thinks it will be a great team bonding experience!
💚🥋He's not the greatest, but by gosh is he trying his best! He's very diligent, and once you show him how to do something he does it well.
💚🥋His favorite part is everything! He loved spending time with you and his team!

Nate looks like he’s at his grandmother’s for the SC interview 😆 He is so cute in it though… I loved your commentary.
Last night was a bit rough but the content amazing.
Happy Hockey Season 🥰
Happy hockey season to you too! 💕 what a bang of a bad start! Yayyy!
aww thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed reading my nonsense lol. I'm just glad i get to unload my natemac feelings here so i can go be a regular human irl!!
...ok ok it did have some grandmother kistch going... but i LOVED nate's background in his denver home!! Idk i liked that it had a not so modern, more of a collection of meaningful things he and his family like (like I'm sure his fiancee and parents have been decorating that home) look to it. Also such nice gentle colours (that soft teal of the mantle is my favourite colour), not harsh minimalism, not the technical touch of an interior decorator, not the sharp feel of his polished expensive tailored suits for work. Not something that is designed to show off to others. Just cozy home, place to relax (lmao when he finally does). Good for him!

This is odd. Because Nate has registered Pink Hippo Media, LLC with the SC Secretary of State (#01224246), and it's a company "in good standing" with the state.
Tumblr media
Nate claims that BJU Class of '21 Isaac Talbert works for Pink Hippo Media, but Talbert says he works for Crockett Doodles.

Miraculous Descendent Chapter 49: Of Parents and Their Pups
Previous Chapter
Sabrina looks at the small dog-like fairy creature with mouth-opened wide-eyed shock as it floats in front of her face. When Barkk sees her reaction, she has a smug and nostalgic smile.
"Oh, how I've missed that reac-" Barkk starts before being interrupted by Sabrina swinging at her with a heavy textbook resting near the desk.
The textbook flies through her, and Sabrina's shock returns tenfold while Barkk smirks at her.
"Nice swing." Barkk compliments so casually you wouldn't believe said swing was aimed toward her a second ago.
Sabrina doesn't say anything back to Barkk as her brain seems to shut down while trying to understand what happened. After a few seconds, her mind works again, and she looks at Barkk with fear and curiosity.
"What are you?" Sabrina asks the Kwami.
"Nice to meet you. My name is Barkk, and I'm what you call a Kwami." Barkk introduces herself with a disarming smile.
It doesn't seem to work on Sabrina, though. She keeps a suspicious gaze trained on Barkk. Upon seeing this, Barkk sighs.
"We Kwami are universal gods. We're magical beings that represent one of the concepts of the universe. I'm the Kwami of Loyalty, Barkk. It's nice to meet you." Barkk states while holding her tiny arm out to shake Sabrina's.
Sabrina doesn't take it and keeps her textbook ready for another swing.
"What do you want with me?" Sabrina asks the Kwami suspiciously, having trouble buying Barkk's story despite everything happening in Paris.
"Why, to make your wish come true. I want you to wield my Miraculous and become a hero. You'll be like Ladybug and Cat Noir and have the chance to fight Hawkmoth." Barkk offers the girl.
"And what do you want?" Sabrina asks, referring to what Barkk gets out of this.
Barkk gives her a faux flat look before saying.
"You know, most girls your age would probably be excited at the chance to become a magical girl," Barkk says before her face brightens with a grin.
"I love it. You're perfect to be my wielder." Barkk compliments her.
Sabrina doesn't say anything, and Barkk finally answers her question.
"I'm not interested in anything particular. I want a wielder, and you were the best candidate I saw. All I want is to live with you and for you to wield my power to become like Ladybug, Cat Noir, and Hawkmoth." Barkk explains while waving their arm dismissively.
"So, you're offering to let me become a hero?" Sabrina asks with a raised eyebrow.
"Pretty much." Barkk nods.
Sabrina's eyes light up in excitement as she thinks about being able to help the heroes and her dad against Hawkmoth. Then she remembers her dad, and her eyes seem to dim with worry.
"Can I have some time to think about it?" Sabrina asks.
"Of course. There's a lot to think about here. Take as much time as you need. You have less of it than I do. I'm glad you didn't accept this without thinking about it." Barkk grins before she flies toward Sabrina's bed and gets comfortable on it.
"Ah, this is the stuff. How I've missed human beds." Barkk says as she lays on a pillow and puts Sabrina's blanket over her tiny body.
Sabrina watches Barkk make herself comfortable and bites her lip while thinking.
"Should I really go through with this? I want to help, but what will Dad think?" Sabrina thinks in worry.
Sabrina isn't the only one dealing with family problems. Marinette is sitting on her bed with Tom and Sabine standing in front of her with looks of anger, worry, sadness, and disappointment.
"Do you have an explanation for this young lady?" Sabine asks her daughter in a calm but forceful tone.
"Uhh..." This is all the nervous teenage girl can say under the two adults' gaze, her eyes shifting uncomfortably around the room to try and avoid their gazes.
"We're waiting," Sabine tells her, stamping her foot impatiently.
Taking a deep breath and remembering her and Nate's plan, Marinette looks at her parents nervously.
"The truth is... Ladybug... asked me to keep an eye around school... for her." Marinette nervously reveals to her parents, stopping in the middle of her sentence a few times as she speaks.
The parents pause for a moment and blink at their daughter in surprise. Tom is the one to recover first and looks at Marinette inquisitively.
"Ladybug... asked you to keep an eye around the school?" Tom asks her, having trouble believing the words coming out of his mouth but not wanting to doubt his stepdaughter.
"I-I know it's hard to believe. I'm still having trouble believing it myself. But it's the truth. She said she wanted me to see if anyone at school was suspicious. So, I've been going out during Akuma attacks to see if anyone around the fight has been acting suspiciously and passing the information to her. Please believe me. I promise I would never do anything like this otherwise." Marinette begs her parents with a pleading expression.
Tom and Sabine look at each other before heading toward the door. Before he leaves, Tom looks toward Marinette with a comforting smile.
"Your mom and I are going to talk about this with Samuel. We'll decide what happens after. This is a hard story to swallow." Tom tells her.
"I know." Marinette flinches.
Before closing the door, Sabine ducks her head back into Marinette's room.
"I hope for your sake this is the truth, young lady. If I find out this has anything to do with you suddenly becoming rich." Sabine lets the threat hang over Marinette's head, causing her to winch.
"I promise it is," Marinette promises again to her mom.
"We'll see," Sabine says before the two leave Marinette alone in the room.
As soon as the door closes, Tikki appears out of the earrings, and Marinette looks toward her worriedly.
"Do you think this will work, Tikki?" Marinette asks the Kwami in a low whisper.
"I do not know. You will have to trust in your plan. Though, it was a good lie. The best ones often have some truth to them." Tikki answers her before complimenting her on her performance.
Marinette winches at that and rubs her arm awkwardly.
"Can you not talk about it like that? I don't like the feeling of lying to Mom or Tom." Marinette begs.
"I'm sorry. I didn't think you'd feel uncomfortable about it." Tikki apologizes with a bow and her smile turning neutral.
In the hallway, a waiting Samuel is talking with Tom and Sabine.
"So, Marinette gave you the same story Nate gave me?" Samuel asks after Tom and Sabine explain what Marinette told them with uncertain tones.
"It seems so." Sabine nods before looking toward her husband.
"What do you think of it?" Sabine asks.
Tom sighs, his shoulders slump slightly before he quickly shakes it off.
"It doesn't seem like she's telling us the full truth. I don't think she's completely lying to us, though. I've seen plenty of people trying to lie to me." Tom tells them.
Sabine nods before looking at the ground with a worried and confused expression.
"Yes, she didn't seem like it to me either. I've seen her try to lie growing up a lot. This doesn't feel the same as those times." Sabine explains.
"Nate didn't seem like it either. We may want to believe them and see how things go from here. If anything more suspicious comes up, we'll have another talk with them and maybe have to take more extreme actions." Samuel suggests.
"Are you sure that's a good idea?" Tom asks his brother.
"I trust Nate. I think our family and the hotel staff have raised him well. If he's covering for Marinette for something, I have to believe it's important. Otherwise, I doubt he'd be willing to risk our relationship. No offense, you two, but I think I'm closer to him than your daughter." Samuel says jokingly at the end of his explanation.
The two parents of Marinette look at each other before Tom finally speaks up.
"I know this might sound like me wanting to make her more comfortable as my stepdaughter, but I think we should follow Samuel's advice. Let's trust she's telling the truth and punish her lightly. She hasn't been hurt, and her grades are fine from what you told me." Tom tells Sabine.
Sabine looks at her husband and brother-in-law while thinking about their words. Finally, she relents and decides to follow along.
"Fine, but only if she can get Ladybug to meet us and prove she's not lying. If she can't do that, we'll do something more." Sabine directs her words toward Tom with a glare.
Tom gives her a happy and loving smile before picking her up in a hug.
"That's a terrific idea, dear. I've wanted to meet Ladybug and Cat Noir for ages to thank them for all their hard work against Hawkmoth. This'll give me the perfect opportunity to after we're done dealing with Marinette's problem." Tom says happily as he hugs his wife.
Sabine smiles at Tom's enthusiasm and laughs lightly.
"Alright, alright, cut it out, you big teddy bear. We need to talk to Marinette and see if she'll do it." Sabine laughs lovingly at her husband as she tries to get him to stop so they can finish their talk with Marinette.
Tom quickly puts his wife down with a smile and nods. The two head back to Marinette's room while Samuel heads toward Nate, and they enter their respective child's room.
"Marinette, we've come to a decision. Your punishment will depend on if you can do something for us to prove you're not lying." Sabine is the one to explain this to their daughter.
"What is it?" Marinette asks, her eyes shining with hope.
"You have to prove to us that you're working with Ladybug. If you can get her to meet with us, and she tells us you're helping her, we'll let you go. Until then, you're going to be grounded." Tom is the one to answer her.
"You want me to introduce you to Ladybug?" Marinette asks while blinking at them in surprise.
"Yes. That's the best way you can prove to us that you're telling the truth. If Ladybug tells us what you're saying is true, you won't be in trouble." Sabine calmly explains to Marinette with her arms crossed.
"I think I can do that, but I don't know when I'll be able to see her. She usually comes to me to ask for updates." Marinette explains to her parents nervously.
"Well, you'll be grounded until you can prove to us that you're telling the full truth. No going out with friends or Nate until you have Ladybug talk to us." Sabine tells her with a tone signaling this isn't up for debate.
"That shouldn't be a problem. Wait, what if they figure out who I am?" Marinette thinks as she internally panics.
"Su-sure, we can do that. I'll see if I can talk to her soon and see what she thinks." Marinette nods.
While suspicious of the stutter at the start of her words, Marinette's parents decide to let it go and give their daughter smiles.
"Please understand that we're getting mad at you because we're worried. We don't like the idea of you not being safe during these attacks, even though Ladybug can fix the damage after beating the villain. We don't know if she'll ever lose or if her power will ever fail, so we don't want to risk your safety." Sabine tells her daughter while walking up and hugging her.
"Thanks, Mom. I promise I'll get Ladybug to show you I'm not lying." Marinette promises with a smile as she hugs her mom back.
"We're looking forward to it," Tom says as he watches the two hug.
Sabine looks toward her husband before looking back toward her daughter.
"Are you okay with a third person joining this hug? Or do you not quite feel comfortable enough?" Sabine asks.
Marinette looks toward Tom, somewhat uncertain. She loves having the man as her mother's husband since he's very kind and gentle despite his appearance. However, she's still feeling uncomfortable seeing him as a father figure since she's never had one before. Taking a deep breath, she gives her best, albeit awkward, smile while motioning for Tom to join them.
Tom gains a bright smile when he sees this and immediately joins the hug, keeping it light to try and somewhat comfort Marinette.
Finally, the two parents leave and give their daughter her space. As she watches the door close for the second time in the last hour, Marinette lets out a breath she didn't know she was holding. She then thinks about their request, trying to find a silver lining.
"Well, my face is covered, and my hair is changed while I'm transformed, so it's not like Ladybug is a perfect copy of me," Marinette says to herself after a minute.
Grasping onto that feint bit of hope, Marinette smiles and nods to herself before Tikki appears to add to her words.
"There's also the Miraculous adding an extra layer of protection by pushing people away from figuring out who you are. With that and the changes to your appearance, you should be fine when you talk to them as Ladybug." Tikki reveals to her wielder.
Marinette looks at Tikki in shock, and the Kwami stares back with her usual kind and composed smile.
"You're telling me the Miraculous can prevent my parents from realizing who I am? Does that mean no one will ever realize I'm Ladybug unless I tell them?" Marinette asks her Kwami.
Tikki shakes her head before saying.
"No. It's not an absolute shield for keeping your identity safe. People can get through the magic if they know you well enough, are trying to figure out your identity, have studied you enough to be certain who you are, or if they see you transform." Tikki explains, causing Marinette to panic.
"Then how will it protect me from my mom figuring it out? She raised me! She knows how I am and will see that I'm Ladybug!" Marinette yells at Tikki in a panic.
"Don't worry. Usually, it takes a mixture of different things for someone to see through who you are. You may get through this without your parents realizing who you are." Tikki explains to try and ease Marinette's worries.
"Are you sure?" Marinette asks.
"Yes. You aren't the first Ladybug who's kept their powers a secret from their family. It should be fine for a while." Tikki explains.
Marinette falls onto her bed in relief upon hearing that.
"Today has been so stressful." Marinette groans before remembering something else.
"Hey Tikki? What happens if I don't catch one of Hawkmoth's butterflies and it escapes? Does that mean I'll have to fight Stormy Weather again?" Marinette asks her Kwami in worry.
Tikki blinks at Marinette before saying.
"Well, it would depend on what power he used to create it. If you're lucky, it won't be the butterfly's core ability." Tikki explains.
"...What happens if it's the core ability?" Marinette asks fearfully.
Tikki is about to answer her before she thinks about it, and a mischievous smile replaces her usual one.
"No, I think that's too easy. I have to leave some things for you to figure out yourself. It's an important part of your growth. For now, try and be ready for anything. Miraculous powers can be unpredictable at times." Tikki warns Marinette calmly.
Marinette looks at her Kwami in a panic.
"What could happen?" Marinette begs Tikki to tell her, not wanting to see this surprise through.
"Nope." Tikki turns her head away from Marinette.
"Tikki, please." Marinette desperately begs for Tikki to tell her.
"Sorry Marinette. Sometimes, I need to be hard on you, or you may not grow properly. I will give you advice, though. Just think about what may happen based on the powers Hawkmoth has used so far." Tikki advises Marinette before flying back into the earrings to end the conversation.
"Tikki, Tikki! Come on, please tell me what will happen!" Marinette begs as she taps on her earrings to try and get the Kwami out.
Marinette eventually stops trying to talk to her Kwami and nervously rubs her arm as she thinks about what may happen.
In Gabriel's office, Gabriel is smiling at the butterfly that managed to escape as it rests on the back of his hand while he caresses it with his other one.
"You did a good job escaping from Ladybug, little one. It's too bad your sibling didn't escape with Pixelator's defeat." Gabriel sighs as he looks at the butterfly.
Its glow starts fading, causing Gabriel to raise it toward the Butterfly Miraculous.
"Get some rest in my Miraculous for now. You'll get another chance eventually. And you'll come out stronger than before." Gabriel promises as the butterfly is sucked into the Butterfly Miraculous like Nooroo when Gabriel transforms.
The Miraculous glows for a second before fading.
"I was close this time. Stormy Weather held Ladybug off and almost beat her today, while Cat Noir couldn't handle Simon Says. I'll have to keep that in mind for next time. I'm getting closer to defeating them. I might be able to save you soon, Emilie." Gabriel mutters happily as he puts a hand on the brooch.
After a few seconds, Gabriel stops and works on his latest design with a smile from his near success despite one of his Akumas attacking him.
Unknown to him, a wildcard is about to come into play. One that would throw a wrench into his plans.
Roger Raincomprix is returning to his home after a long day of work and dealing with the aftermath of Simon Says. When he gets home, he sees a nervous Sabrina fiddling with her thumbs on the couch.
"Sabina, is everything okay? Did something happen?" Roger immediately rushes toward his daughter worriedly.
Sabrina jolts up in surprise, not having heard him come in, before turning toward him with an uneasy expression.
"I-I'm fine, Dad. But there is something I need to show you." Sabrina tells her father with an anxious expression.
Sabrina stands up and walks stiffly toward her room. Roger follows her with a worried expression until they enter.
"Barkk, can you come out please?" Sabrina begs.
To Roger's shock, Barkk flies out of Sabrina's bed and stretches in front of the two.
Roger instinctively reaches for his taser from the shock as Barkk yawns.
"Have you made up your mind, kid? Or did you grab your father to get someone else's input?" Barkk asks Sabrina before looking toward Roger.
"What is this? Is this Hawkmoth's doing?" Roger asks as he gets between Sabrina and Barkk while glaring at the Kwami.
"Yes and no. I'm here partly because of Hawkmoth, but I am not in any way affiliated with him outside of him wielding the Miraculous of one of my fellow Kwami. Other than that, I know nothing about him and am here for my own reasons." Barkk quickly explains to Roger while making movements with her arms for emphasis.
Roger still looks at her suspiciously while keeping a hand close to his taser.
"And what reason would that be? I hope it's not anything that'll threaten me or my daughter." Roger warns the Kwami while glaring at her.
"You, no. You're daughter, maybe." Barkk bluntly states, causing Roger to latch onto his taser while Sabrina winches.
"I'm offering her the chance to wield my power and become like Ladybug, Cat Noir, and Hawkmoth. As such, she'll be able to help Paris, but it'll put her at risk of getting hurt." Barkk explains calmly, as though she isn't being threatened.
That statement causes Roger to blink in surprise while loosening his grip on his taser. Sabrina looks at her father in worry as the words slowly register with him. When they do, he is not happy.
"What do you mean you want my daughter to become a hero?" Roger asks the Kwami in protective worry as he shifts slightly to try and better protect Sabrina from Barkk.
"It's exactly as I said. I think your daughter can be my wielder and would like to have her reach her full potential." Barkk nonchalantly explains while shrugging.
"I refuse to allow this," Roger tells the Kwami.
That answer doesn't satisfy Barkk, though. She looks past Roger toward Sabrina.
"You can not do that. Only the person I've chosen can refuse. Anyone around her cannot decide for her. And they must do it with complete confidence. That is our rule." Barkk explains while looking into Sabrina's eyes.
"So, will you confidently refuse my offer, pup? Will you have me wait until you're truly ready to refuse it? Or will you accept the offer and follow your wish to help others?" Barkk asks these three questions toward Sabrina, angering Roger.
He turns toward a nervous Sabrina and points toward Barkk.
"What are you waiting for, Sabrina? Refuse their offer so we can end this nonsense quickly." Roger demands.
"Well..." Sabrina says uncomfortably as she rubs her arm.
Roger's anger changes into confusion at Sabrina's actions while Barkk smiles.
"It looks like someone isn't ready to refuse," Barkk tells him, causing Roger to look at Sabrina in worry.
"Sabrina?" He asks gently while looking at his daughter.
"...I'd like to help the heroes if possible." Sabrina finally reveals to her dad.
Roger's eyes widen in shock before he turns toward Sabrina.
"What are you saying, Sabrina? It's too dangerous for you to fight Hawkmoth. We don't even know what could happen if you accept this deal." Roger tells the girl, voice slightly raised in alarm.
"I-I know. But, if I can help you and the heroes, I-I'd like to take t-the chance." Sabrina tells him shyly.
"Sabrina..." Roger looks at his daughter warily and is about to say something before Sabrina interrupts him.
"When Ladybug gave me a way to help her, Cat Noir, and you against Hawkmoth, I felt happy. I wish to help as much as I can. Please, Dad." Sabrina begs while holding her hands together pleadingly.
"Sabrina..." Roger starts again, but Sabrina keeps going with tears welling up.
"I know you're worried about me because of Mom. But I promise I'll be okay. Please let me at least try. I want to make sure you're safe, too." Sabrina begs her father.
Roger pauses when he hears that last part and looks at his daughter sadly.
"I promised you I would always be okay. I'm not going anywhere." Roger promises his daughter as he brings her into a reassuring hug.
Sabrina accepts the hug and returns it with one of her own while tears run down her face.
"I-I know, b-but I'm still scared. I'm scared that Ladybug and Cat Noir will lose, and you'll be gone. Or that someone else will hurt you, and they can't fix it." Sabrina cries to him.
Roger's heart aches as he hears his daughter's tears before releasing a heavy sigh.
"I'm sorry for worrying you, Sabrina. But your old man is tough. I'm not going anywhere." Roger promises her.
"You don't know that," Sabrina tells him, tightening her hold.
Roger sighs, knowing that Sabrina's right. He won't lie and say he hasn't been extra nervous about being out in the field with Hawkmoth's arrival.
"You're right." Roger finally relents.
However, he still hasn't given up on keeping Sabrina safe. He narrows his eyes at Barkk, who has been silent throughout this exchange, patiently waiting for them to finish.
"If she accepts this, can she give it up later if she doesn't think she's cut out for it or if it's too dangerous?" Roger asks in a tone showing he's still distrustful of Barkk.
"Of course. However, the same rules as refusing me apply to giving up a Miraculous. The person has to be completely certain they want to give it up." Barkk explains, causing Roger to nod.
With a heavy sigh, Roger looks toward his daughter with cautious eyes.
"You really want to help the heroes and me?" He asks his daughter.
Sabrina nods but doesn't say anything, causing Roger to sigh.
"Alright, I'll let you do this. But please quit the second you feel you're not ready or if you feel weird in any way." Roger tells Sabrina.
"Thank you." Sabrina cries to her father.
Roger sighs before gaining a proud smile.
"Seems like I raised you too well. You're too much like me." Roger tells her with a small laugh.

With the introduction of Ice Zone this month, we have officially done it.  All major types have a Zone.  Except for Normal.  Brace for anniversary, that's all I'm saying.  But with each type now having a Zone, and the introduction of these newfangled rebuffs...how are the types doing?
See, when I started playing, it was pretty well accepted that Fire, Water, and Psychic ruled the meta.   Electric wasn't too far behind, but didn't have the same powerhouses behind it.  As someone on Reddit so eloquently put it back when Second Anniversary pairs were being dunked on: "They don't feel underwhelming because they're bad, they feel underwhelming because they don't abuse field effects.  Every top meta threat has focused on application or abuse of field effects.  It shouldn't be a surprise that these new pairs don't feel as overwhelming when there's nothing to take advantage of." But now, that discrepancy is (mostly) over.  And are those types still top dogs?  Today, I will be going over the types, and how I feel they perform in the current meta.  This will include F2P tools, highest potential, and what I think is missing from the archetype.
18) Poison I mean...is anyone surprised?  The entire type lives and dies by the question "Did you pull Emma?"  Roxie getting an EX at least raises some hope, but I'll be honest, I don't anticipate much.  Their F2P pairs are really bad at damage, and even premium options tend to be a rough time. Their Zone setter, H!Iris, is by far the worst of the bunch, having virtually no utility unless 3/5, where she gets a really crappy debuff rate on a shit-tier move.  Poison is just depressing to think about.
17) Bug Though man, Bug is not far behind.  Here's a fun question: did you pull SC Emmet or SS Hilbert?  No?  Good luck with life, then.  Even Alder feels like a genuine struggle by comparison.  And to be frank, I don't consider SC Emmet that good either.  He's a clean sweep in CS, but in Gauntlet, I think I wind up benching him most times, even with long streaks.  The F2P crowd seems good, but Bugsy and Noland both come with a ton of issues, including "Oops I couldn't quite take out center on second sync, my bad!"  The general pool is also loaded with some of the worst.  Guzma sucks, Burgh isn't great, Lusamine's stupid frail. And of course, SC Ingo is a really bad Zone setter, focused entirely on physical and not doing much else for the team.  It has oddly solid supports in Aaron and Lodge Dawn, but like...Bug is not doing well.
16) Normal Now to make the sincere argument that Normal, a type who lacks Zone and can never deal the same damage as any other type due to supereffective modifiers. Yet I stand by it.  Normal gets great utility.  SC Steven is absurd.  C!Red's SEUN application was downright unique before Jasmine sniped it from him.  Even among the commons, you get a lot of nice effects for checking Gauntlet gimmicks, ensuring they often get used.  That's more than I can say about Poison and Bug, frankly.  It's not a good position, but I think Normal as a type at least offers better value than the last two, thanks to its range of effects.
15) Flying Flying is so weird to me.  On the one hand, you have Lysandre, who is legitimately great after his expansion, and Kahili, who is one of the best F2P sync pairs for damage, backed by Skyla, one of the best F2P walls.  But on the other.  Anni Steven is the worst Master Fair.  All of the type's options tend to be weirdo gimmicks like P!Elesa.  Nate is there.  Flying has some of the lowest lows the game offers, and just a few standout performers.  Even its top competition often doesn't feel that exceptional.  Like I know intuitively that SS Ethan is strong, but he never quite feels that great in CS or in Gauntlet.
14) Fairy Perhaps another contentious one, given recent additions, but Fairy sucks ass bro.  How do you have three goddamn Zone setters and not one of them helps physical?  I know Rain has similar issues, but Calem at least tries.  I think the main problem is that no one actually fixes the issues present.  Diantha, SS Wally, and Bede are the only good damage dealers, but anything else?  Get out. Valerie got a shit grid, Mina's stats let her down, Lodge Lillie is great for Stall but needs EX to function as a competent syncer.  And there's like no general pool fairies.  Even at the top, NY!Lisia doesn't have a single good Zone setting partner, holding the type back way further than it needs to be. "But Sycamore-" always takes first sync and has serious issues with survival given how many Fairy-weak stages are physical.  Despite having like a billion options to choose from, Fairy still feels like one of the worst types, which is staggering.
13) Steel On the one hand.  Palentine's Marnie is a very good partner to the majority of the Steel type.  On the other.  Gauges are atrocious on literally everyone who isn't Molayne.  Like, why are gauges so hard to work with on this type?  And Marnie being so slow is the biggest problem, it doubles down on the worst aspect of the type.  I do think Steel has some decent if limited performers in the F2P pool, and Gloria popped off but only really takes off under certain conditions.  The type isn't exactly hurting, this is a fair break from the other types I think are just bad, but Steel does not feel like it's doing particularly well.
12) Ice I am going to make the bold declaration that Ice went from the worst type, to #12 overall, solely from Irida's inclusion.  Like, if it were just SS Silver, I think I'd still put this at the bottom.  But the Zone setter for this type went so hard that she's pulling Lorelei to off-type clears.  That is, to put it bluntly, insane.  The type went ballistic with Irida's presence.  But as we're soon to find out, it takes more than one good sync pair to save a type, and when Irida isn't in play, oh my god does this type suck.   It's the only weather to not have a competent support.  All of your damage dealers are bad.  Ghetsis has serious claim to the title of "Worst Legendary Pair," with people like me being entirely serious about Candice seeming better.  The type was in complete shambles, and Irida alone does not make it good.  Moreover, she helps the worst in the type, not the best, so Ice tends to not feel like a standout performer.
11) Ground Ground is blessed with Courtney, a general pool pair with Zone access.  This is unheard of.  She's literally the only one in the general pool with this effect. That's how bad Ground was.  But time has been good to the type, and has resulted in them getting much needed improvement.  SS Giovanni was a CS killer, Cynthia's expansions popped off, Maxie remains relevant, and Bertha and Courtney offered legitimately good general pool ground-type damage.  These are the traits that put it above Ice.   The trait that holds it back is that your F2P pairs are garbage.   Naomi's good, but she's limited F2P, so that's not counted. Hapu and Clay were like the only Ground types most players had in my day, and are still the only really accessible options.  And they are trash.  They are absolute trash.  Even with advances in the meta, they fail constantly.  Ground succeeds by virtue of being less pigeonholed into a single option to make the type function, but it's definitely not good.  I think it just needs a seriously good Lodge Striker in the type, and we'll call Ground much better.
10) Rock Rock is like Ice, if Ice had some competent independent performers.  The type lives and dies now by the good graces of SS Diantha, who is the only way to salvage SS Brock, Grant, and Kukui.  Again, you can't rely on one option, but thankfully it wasn't.  Olivia was a great CS striker with her absurd sync, and the triple premium options of C!Blue, Emmet, and SC Hilda carried well enough to work.  Rock wasn't as down and out as Ice was at its lowest point.  But it's also never really risen to fame.  There's not a great Rock-type solution.  Emmet relies entirely on Sandstorm, Blue is the awkward physical sync/special DPS, and SC Hilda's technically weaker than both but more consistent, if reliant on setup support for attack and speed.  They have options but nothing exceptional yet. Roxanne alt when?
9) Dragon Dragon has some of the better damage dealers in the game, so why am I being mean?  Because they're not that great.  Unless you are the combination of SS Brendan, Lucas, and SS Serena, Dragon is not doing so hot.   Lance's expansion was good but not Cynthia tier, and C!Iris is falling off really hard.  The bottom of the barrel picks are so bad as to be laughable (Sorry Iris and Clair, I love you but oh my god), and the free legendary pairs are awkward.  Cyrus has better Water damage than Dragon, and Zinniquaza has a lot of competing demands.  The type functions.  It does well enough, but truthfully I consider it like the exact middle of the road type.  Good enough that it's not struggling, but not so good it's standing out.
8) Fighting If Fighting succeeds at anything, it's having two exceptional Zone setters.  Fairy may have three, but they're all super limited.  Fighting is not so limited.  On the one hand, Aura Cynthia is perfect godwall that emphasizes DPS play on a type with a ton of high-DPS options.  On the other, NC Hop is fantastic debuffing potential and manual Zone, to let allies sync as needed.  These are insanely strong tools that give the type relevance.  Add to it, they have a standout performer in SC Diantha, who is so good that Cynthia not supporting her sync was considered a knock against Cynthia.  And among F2P options, Bruno is fairly competent.  But you'll note the issue.  Each side only has one competent actor to follow up.  A!Cynthia does not fully support the offensive buff needs of a pair like Brawly or Marshal.  Hop can take a different support, but he's the type of Zone setter that eclipses the significance of any possible partner, which I consider a detriment.  Why have other options if Hop is just better than all of them?  So Fighting exists in a space with some real standouts, but there are very few of them, and don't ask about the rest.
7) Ghost Oh yeah, Ghost type.  When I started, Anni Lillie was the big name.  Ghost was considered one of the worst types, just no competent damage dealers.  But when Lillie showed up, suddenly it was relevant.  And I feel like every step since has been trying to make everyone better so Lillie is worse.  Lillie had serious, notable limitations, and SS Korrina doesn't seem nearly as limited by comparison.  Fantina and Shauntal are exceptional damage dealers on a cheaper budget, and Agatha is one of the best technical supports with Sleep and tremendous gauge control.  Renegade Cynthia as their Zone setter could be better, but has a lot of beneficial tools for her type as well.  Even for support, BP Morty and Lodge Morty are some of the best F2P pairs you can grab, while SC Lillie is the most efficient Sp Atk/Crit buffer around. While there are still some pairs that really struggle, Ghost is a type significantly improved, with a lot of viable options that compete.
6) Electric Electric was the forgotten child when I started playing.  The three great types of Fire, Water, and Psychic had their field effects, and were known for crazy offensive potential because of them.  But Electric also had one, dangit!  Why weren't they as relevant?  Well, it's because N had some glaring setup and gauge issues, and Marnie was a Tech with relatively limited DPS.  Electric Terrain had no one to big up.  Nowadays, Electric has the best sync pair in the game with SST Red, and the highest DPS by miles in Ash.  So why isn't it top 5? Because its F2P game still sucks.  Marnie and N got huge improvements, but when you look outside of premium?  Elesa's fine but not exceptional.  Hau, Sophocles, Surge, and BP Surge are all atrocious.  Volkner's fairly poor as a terrain setter, Hau's Buddy move makes his terrain much worse off, and SST Red is so stupid good that partners are optional.  The lower class in this type suck and need help, and their help is not helping.  Electric is a type that, to this day, when I opt for more F2P budget runs, is the type I hate facing most.  The options outside of premium are just so bad.  It's like dying for a good Lodge striker.
5) Psychic At this point, I want to preface by saying I play a certain way, and pick favorites based on utility.  Among the Three Great Types, Psychic fell off the hardest in the damage meta.  You know it's bad when Lear, a sync pair nearly two years old, is still like the best sync nuker.  Electric decisively has stronger options.  But. Psychic's F2P and general pool game is immaculate, and while they're on longer top performers, premium pairs still put in exceptional work.  Moreover, you have the blessing of Lucian, the supreme general pool unit, Giovanni's insane power, and Mesprit as the best Master BP pair.  Psychic maintains relevance, but I feel like it's on the cusp of slipping really hard if it doesn't step up its game.  Yes, C!Bede as the best support in the game is a massive win for it, but what it's really looking for as a specific archetype is the Terrain Supporter.  It wants its SS Morty.  So far we're getting Bianca, who's fine but falling off; Anni May, who's alright but got a bad expansion; and SS Lana, who frankly just makes CS conditions more annoying by removing the option for Physical Damage Reduction 8.  I think the Terrain setters have, over time, been revealed to be really bad.  They're far more focused on damage than utility, and it's to the type's detriment.
4) Water When I started, Water was the de facto best type.  Archie ruled the meta with an iron fist, and having both Roxanne and May in his corner just made the whole situation perfect.  It's been two years since those days, and in a meta with NC Serena and SS Lysandre, why do I think Water fell from grace?   Well, a few reasons.  While Water has one of the highest potential ceilings for damage, and some really standout performers...its F2P game kinda sucks ass.  No, I'm sorry, we need to talk about this.  Unless you have EX Siebold, F2P Water is handled by Cyrus, a Dragon.  Your actual Water pairs are garbage.  Lodge Rosa and Lodge Silver are terrible at their jobs.  Lodge May struggles ridiculously to compete.  Barry has really difficult sync conditions to fulfill.  Crasher Wake needs the foe to be flinched which is a death sentence.  Water lives and dies by its premium fare, and while that includes many a busted damage dealer and one of the best supports to ever do it, their floor is quite low.   Moreover, three Rain supports, and not one of them perfectly helps SS Grimsley.  Poor dude.  Water has a lot of support behind it, so it's definitely in the upper echelon of types.  But I think time and an evolving meta has made Water less versatile.  It's all high DPS premium stuff while anything below that seems to struggle without SS Kris' presence.
3) Fire Fire, as one of the Three Great Types with Water and Psychic, succeeded based on having a field effect that was easily accessed.  Only four types did, but Fire was considered one of the best, due to the routine application of some of the dumbest DPS units available in SS Red and Leon.  Fire never let up on that particular gas, producing constant offensive powerhouses with fairly efficient self-setup.  The reason I think Fire adapted better than Water, however, is that Fire has SS Morty.  See, Fire figured something out.  Instead of raw DPS and pumping that higher, Morty offers the alternative: I've got enough firepower, what I need is survival.   And they hired someone immortal.  Fire feels more versatile than Water now, and better able to handle the nonsense that's thrown their way.  Moreover, every Fire type, barring like Flint I guess, benefits from Morty.  There are Water types that don't mesh with Kris.  But every Fire type that doesn't cap crit, handles offense well enough.  And if they don't (Leon), Eevee Lucas filled the gap.  Fire is just...consistent and efficient and flexible.  I think they got it all down pat.  But they also don't reach the same plateau that Water does.  There's no obscene damage comp like Dual Frogs + SS Lysandre.  SS May is great, but not as good as Dojo Gloria.  Water one-ups Fire's damage, but I think Fire just offers better utility.
2) Grass Grass types recently went ballistic.  SS Lyra was the first popping off.  Not only did they get Grassy Terrain to finally join the field effect meta, but Lyra's guaranteed flinch rate with easy quad queue made literally anything viable, without Lyra completely overshadowing her teammates offensively.  Grass had some odds and ends additions, including the incredibly fun SC Rosa, but largely kinda held back as a consistent but decisively okay type.  And then SS Acerola showed up, and packed the most consistent physical DPS stacking you could imagine.  And now we got Adaman, who's offering absurd damage with no gauge cost, and permanent Sun.  Grass was already doing well, but it's exploded recently.  I think it's still in a position overall where it would really like some better special support, but it's hard to find fault with Grass.  Moreover, it carries the same general benefits as Psychic, thanks to a wide array of supporting tools.  Sleep Powder Ramos, Stall Master BP Erika, Gauntlet Master base Erika, SS Leaf's shenanigans going through the roof, SC Rosa's fascinating debuff combination.  Grass just offers a lot of value, and some generally unstoppable team compositions.
1) Dark But nobody is doing it like Dark.  For a while, Dark was one of my least favorite types.  You just had like nothing good to work with.  Nanu wasn't damage, BP Karen just died, base Karen struggled like hell, Grimsley was there.  But man, things have changed.  Not for Grimsley.   He's still a mess.  But like...SS Cyrus came in as a great disruptive tool with Zone.  He didn't specifically boost damage of allies, but the AoE sleep was valuable on literally any team, making him one of the better Zone setters.  Champion Calem then came in with tremendous benefits to the physical side of the type, while offering some support to special.  Then SC Zinnia came in, perfectly complemented his needs, and packed some of the funniest broken nonsense available, including shutting down all buffs for the enemy team for a duration, and a 70% flinch rate and zero gauge cost on unbuffed foes.  And of course, NC Marnie comes in with Ash-like survival, sacrificing his absurd Buddy move DPS for more consistent damage and a 50-60% flinch rate.  Dark is riding high, and it's incredibly hard to find a flaw in the type.  Even among F2P pairs, Nanu got an insanely good grid, base Karen popped off on her expansion and it turns out my fear around BP Karen was unfounded because damn she gets a job done.  Dark currently feels like the strongest and most well-rounded team composition.  It actually leads the sync damage leaderboard, though Dark-type NC Serena.  Dark's just been on a roll lately.

EXTIENDE LOCOMOTIVE RACHA GANADORA

Nathan Crockett's primary business is Crockett Doodles.
I'm not linking to it. You can google it.
But if you see a Doodle anywhere in the lower 48, Nathan's business likely brokered that purchase. His business is that big.
Now. The ethics of pet breeding is way outside the scope of WutBJU. Way.
But briefly, we've all heard about puppy mills. We've all heard "adopt don't shop." We've all heard something like, "use a reputable breeder."
When our vet met our puppy, he asked us "have you met her mother?" That was his way of checking where we got our Black Lab and if it was a reputable breeder.
But in the range of designer dogs like "Doodles" -- a dog that is a mix of anything with a Poodle -- there are many bad actors.
Consistently, Crockett Doodles is listed as a very problematic source because
Crockett Doodles is a puppy mill broker.
From the Humane Society, a puppy mill broker:
is a pet dealer engaged in the business of re-selling puppies who were bred elsewhere. Unlike retail pet stores, brokers are middleman dealers who obtain puppies from breeders and puppy mills, and then transport and resell them. Brokers typically sell puppies to pet stores, but sometimes to research facilities, often travelling great distances to do so. In some cases the term is also used loosely to describe people who re-sell litters directly to the public that they themselves did not produce, for example, by posing at the original breeder and selling them through websites or classified ads.
Nathan Crockett is likely to respond to this post. He's very concerned about his business's reputation. If you find a post on reddit warning people about Crockett Doodles, Nate is always there to counter statements.
But here's a statement I want to amplify from Stop Online Puppy Mills:
Crockett Doodles is a website that lists for sale 10 to 15 different doodle mix dog breeds. This company is based in Greenville, SC. Why we do not recommend buying a puppy from CrockettDoodles.com CrockettDoodles.com The Crockett Doodles website claims they sell family raised puppies. They lists dozens and dozens of doodle puppies for sale of every kind and size imaginable. They have Aussiedoodle puppies, Bernedoodle puppies, Cavachon puppies, Cavapoo puppies, Cockapoo puppies, Goldendoodle puppies, Irishdoodle puppies, Labradoodle puppies, Maltipoo puppies, Newfiedoodle and Saint Berdoodles puppies, Sheepadoodles puppies, Springerdoodles (Sproodles) puppies, Swiss Doodle puppies and even Yorkipoos. That is a lot of dogs! Not only that, but they have also at least ten other “sister” or “partner” websites selling doodle and poo puppies as well. These “sister” or “partner” websites are landing pages of sorts for the specific doodle mix you are interested in, then it redirects you to CrockettDoodles.com at checkout. CrockettDoodles.com sells their puppies one way but they “market” they puppies on at least ten other websites. We consider CrockettDoodles.com along with all of their “sister” or “partner” websites to be high-volume online puppy sellers and we do not recommend buying puppies from CrockettDoodles.com. Crockett Doodles direct ships puppies and uses USDA amish dog breeders as Guardian families. The website uses the words “adopt” and “adoption” when you are actually buying the puppy and shelling out thousands to do so. The day you pay for the dog is called “adoption day” maybe to make you feel good about the transaction of paying thousands of dollars for an animal you have never met and are not allowed to see where it was born but will have for 15 plus years. As stated on their website, the costs of their puppies’ range in the $2,500-$4,000 which does not include the extra costs and delivery charges. Speaking of delivery, they will ship a puppy by ground delivery or flight nanny anywhere is the contiguous United States. We consider the shipping and delivery of puppies in these manners red flags. Crockett Doodles will let you pick up your puppy in person at a pickup location, but you are not allowed to go to the breeder’s “home” and meet the mother dog or see where your puppy was born. This is a huge red flag. In fact, we asked specific questions about the breeding dogs, how old and how many litters and they would not tell us anything. They decide which dog to match you up with from the checklist submitted by you the interested puppy buyer. They then send you a match and you decide from a picture if you will accept it. We do not recommend buying a puppy based off a picture ever and we never recommend buying a puppy from a website. The CrockettDoodles.com website is no exception. There are other red flags on their website that we don’t like but for the following reasons alone, we do not recommend buying a puppy from CrockettDoodles.com. Crockett Doodles uses USDA Amish dog breeders as Guardian “families.” They have up to 15 different dog breeds listed for sale at any one time, they list dozens and dozens of puppies for sale at any one time, they are not transparent about who the breeder of your puppy is before you buy it, nor will not let you go to the breeder’s home to see where your puppy was born. Lastly, they ship and deliver puppies all over the U.S. We do not recommend buying a puppy from the CrockettDoodles.com website. There are too many red flags. Please contact us if you have more questions about CrockettDoodles.com or would like to report a sick puppy.
So taking a "product" from the Indiana Amish and marketing it around the country, that's the model.
And that's a problem.
