Random TCF Related Thought - Fairy Tales

In canon proper, we know that fairy tales do exist in Nameless 1, or at least, fiction geared towards children.

Well, I was reading some TCF React fics and found a hilarious moment where Heni!KRS was explaining fairy tales to Cale's kids and was shooketh to find out that Cale had butchered some of Earth's classic fairy tales into loosely-based-on stories (to put it gently) cuz apparently the "princess-in-distress" trope would not be relatable if every princess IRL they know could easily save themselves in a simailar or same situation. Therefore, Badass Action Girl!Princesses FTW.

Where am I going with this?

So my shower thought is that Cale one day decided to invoke his inner Brothers Grimm and published his own book series based off of Earth's classic fairy tales.

But here's the twist: He uses the Walt Disney versions but made every Disney Princess BAMFs.

Sorry, Mr. Walt Disney. Your own versions of Earth's classic fairy tales were a product of your time, but your 50s sensibilities won't fly when all of the princesses Cale knows can easily break a full grown man man in tiny little pieces, physically, spiritually, and emotionally. Besides, he wants little girls like On and Lily to have strong female role models to aspire to be even if it's in fiction.

Sleeping Beauty? Aurora is based on Roselyn. She finds out that she got cursed by Maleficent, who is a whole Dragon that her father had offended by failing to invite her to his unborn daughter's christening like he promised, so she threw away her status as crown princess to become a mage out of spite and break the curse on her own. In the end, she succeeds and managed to tracked down Maleficent to her lair. Maleficent is so impressed by her moxie that the Dragon took her on as an apprentice. By the time, Prince Phillip shows up hoping to slay the Dragon and take Aurora back to his kingdom so they can be married, the story is already over.

Beauty and the Beast? Belle is the village chief's daughter and the most beautiful girl in the tribe. Belle is a Tiger and Lion mixed-blood Beastman and also pining after the cute human bookworm named Adam in the next village over. Dorph the greater value Gaston can go fuck himself for all she cares. TLDR: Role Reversal AU and Belle is Dark Tiger!Alberu.

Cinderella? Cinderella is a secretly a Shaman. Everything is the same up until the whole dress ruining scene. After that, Cinderella invokes the spirit of Queen Jopis, stopped giving a shit, and turned the rest of the plot into a shitshow. Her evil stepfamily is given the OG!Brothers Grimm treatment.

Pocahontas? Everything is the same except the Powhatans are all Elves. Ratcliffe is the White Bitchless.

Hunchback of Notre Dame? The plot is the same, but Esmeralda is a Dark Elf, and Quasimodo is half-Dark Elf. Frollo is replaced by Adin just so he can fall off the roof a second time.

Aladdin? Jasmine is also a thief. She looted what should've been her dowry from the Sultan, her annoying suitors' wealth, Genie's lamp, Carpet from the Cave of Wonders, Aladdin's heart, and Jafar aka the White Hobo Looking's dignity and respect, not in that order, then whisked Aladdin off of his bare feet and away to her own personal kingdom. Basically, Cale reimagined her as Fem!Hong Gildong.

The Little Mermaid? Romeo and Juliet with a happy ending where Prince Eric is a Whale Prince and Ariel is still a Mermaid, and both their families got scammed into finally burying the hatchet by Ursula.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarves? Snow White is a Dwarf too, and the plot is basically an otome where she has seven suitors from different tribes, and the Evil Queen (*couch*Elisneh*cough*) is, of course, the jealous villainess.

Brave: Everything's the same except Sayeru gets abused more than Mor'du in this book.

Frozen: Everything's the same except Prince Hans is swapped out for Sir Bernard cuz Hans the goodest butler doesn't deserve to be associated with scum.

Tangled: Everything's the same except it's Adin who takes a swan dive off of the tower.

Mulan: Everything's the same except the Huns are replaced by Arm.

Listen,

fem!Reader gets transmigrated into TCF/LCF but as the White Star!!

- WS is still a guy, it would be just funny for reader's only solace being she doesn't need to worry about periods anymore xd

- figures out it's tcf timeline and the reaction to that is 'Ayyy, the world is saved!' and 'Oh damn, I'm cooked!!'

- gets there after the first appearance of WS in story. Important because really can't back out after that...

- soul is different so reader can actually taste stuff but pretends not to be able

- she still can't sleep right because of anxiety about everything happening xd

- reader is ofc trying to help Cale and his group out but can't really do much, if she betrays arm, they'll kill her, if she goes to Cale's group, they'll torture then probably kill her xdd

- reader's masterplan is to act like a cartoon villain and fall for Cale's schemes, making up some random evil monologues on the spot and ultimately die by the hand of their favorite protagonist

- there's also the option of coming clean when WS is trapped with Cale in that dirt domain but let's be real, how likely would Cale be to actually believe anything said randomly at that point xd

- reader keeps in mind the main plot points, otherwise is mostly going along with things, trying to make as many people survive as possible (can't immediately stop every evil machinations, reader would get jumped lmao)

- reader tries to keep tabs on where Cale and other people are in the story, since some things are bound to change a bit compared to canon, reader runs around trying to keep it close enough still

- battling what is morally correct as the story she once read turns into her reality

- reader tries to make sure all the 'bad guys' are in some way connected to arm so Cale's group can find them more easily

- at Lord Sheritt's place, WS (reader) indeed doesn't know where Cale and the others would show up from because she's never been to the place before xd

- also, gives Naru the tightest hug and sends him and his group the best snacks so they can enjoy the very minimal slacker life activities

- reader would HATE being called 'Cale Barrow' so they always stop Sayeru and whoever has the audacity to call them that (very in character too)

Every time we as readers would have looked at the WS like 'what's this pathetic guy doing' it's just reader flopping intentionally xd

Hi, do you know what chapter Cale's Caro auction shenanigans are? Like- the one where he sells things to merchants(?) and gains billions?

The Caro auction arc lasts roughly from chapter 188 to 191; A Small Goal (3-6), with Cale selling Determination of Fire for 30 billion counds (Caro currency, slightly higher than Roan Kingdom gallon) to guild leader Plavin Singten in chapter 189, and Night's Exultation for 23 billion to an unnamed skinny female Caro Bishop in her thirties (who used another guy to do the transaction for her) in chapter 191.

...I have no idea if Cale ever sold the Sun's Tear that he also found in one of the 10 coffins in chapter 159. Maybe it was one of the treasures he used to reinforce the Fire of Destruction much later? Someone feel free to correct me on that one, I'm not sure if that one jewel ever came up again.

It's worth remembering though that the items weren't worth nearly as much; In the end, they weren't even magical items, just jewelry pieces. Billos estimated the value of Determination of Fire at "minimum 20", and the Determination of Fire had been sold for 15 billion in the last auction. The Bishop was basically buying status since the Night's Exultation had historical value to the church (although it was implied to be made up history since it held no real power as confirmed by Raon), and there was already a fake on display in Vegas City (lol), so I guess they wanted to own the real one in order to keep the secret that it was fake? Maybe the Empire's Church blackmailed Caro Church in the past because of it? Who knows.

Cale also scammed Plavin into thinking he was actually buying his way into a connection with the Sun Church that would help his corrupt guild survive through the Empire upheaval, since he was working for both the church and the Empire at the same time. Plavin's character returns later on during the same arc when Dorph and Sayeru characters get introduced.

Part 2 of me randomly dumping my thoughts on lcf.

Maybe the reason the Thames household had to live in hiding/ pretend to have already perished had something to do with the white star being born in og!krs’s original body ? 

As we know, the white star in his last reincarnated form (the supposedly kimcale’s original body), had red hair with the same shade as Cale’s. Doesn’t that mean that he was reincarnated as a member of the Thames household? 

Was it something intentional made by the other hunter families to bring the Thames household down or was it just a coincidence that they used for their advantage? And why is the Thames household in bad ties with the other hunter families?

The white star, at the timeline where canon started, should have been in that body for some decades already (assuming that the earth1 ‘s time flows like earth 2’s, it could be a couple hundred years, if it was a bit faster; maybe closer to lcf, then around 40 years) (since time flows differently between dimensions, the 36 yrs of KRS’s life could be way longer there. We can't be sure though since the comparison of the flow of time was only shown between earth2 and lcf dimension)

So maybe the white star had spied on the Thames household for a while, disguised as one of them in og krs' body? There was almost no clear connection mentioned between the hunters and the ws, but there was a scene where sayeru (or Droph, not really sure) mentioned a red haired man he really feared for some reason. And the SG and the white star were said to have been used by the hunters.

Another point is young jour’s reaction to the info in her diary. She looked both dissatisfied and sad when she knew the Thames had to disappear and she was the last one out of the barony and it no longer existed after she got married to Deruth, yet seemed to be somewhat understanding of it.

But it was revealed later that, surprise surprise, her older brother was actually still alive! Someone who could've been a heir for the Thames household!! But he came in disguise. Sus :/

Besides, remember when Cale and the ws first met, the ws mentioned something about investigating(?) About Cale (when he said he thought he was just a trash..I hope I’m not mixing things lol)

Title: "Enter: Fabulous Ancient Power Transformation Sequence!"

Description: "Nelan Barrow was clearly a biased author. Cale had been aware of this, but never realized the all the implications of it."

In this AU, Ancient Powers were a bit different from magic. For one, they demanded certain phrazes in order to activate. And secondly - they apparently caused the user to change appearance. Strangely, despite the novel being very descriptive about the tiniest of details, what exactly that meant was left very vague. Cale simply assumed that the users glowed or something. Unfortunately, Choi Jung Gun just had been too embarassed to write it down properly. The truth was: Ancient Power Users had entire transformation performances to execute before being able to use their powers. (The exception being the Vitality of the Heart & Dominating Aura; one because it's a passive power, and the other because it belonged to CJG, who was a Korean and thus that power had technically a different origin, than the others.) If Cale had known about it, he probably never would have bothered with gathering them in the first place... (Remember, Cale is canonically the kind of guy who prefers to wear all black, lol)

Shield - Pink, with silver polka dots, puffy sleeves, ribbons, high boots and socks, shorts and amazon-like half-skirt half-cape. Also a silver tiara. Cale's least favorite. Wind - white and light blue, very girly, with lots of frills, bare shoulders, scarf and a mask. His second least favorite. Fire - not that bad, black-and-red, half-royal half-pirate looking theme going on, with a hat with a phoenix feather. Lots of jewels included. If only it could limit the glitter and magical sparkles, he feels like a disco ball… Earth - school-uniform like, with tartan skirt. Gloves included. Would have been fine… if it wasn't for the pigtails. Siiigh. It's right in the middle. Water - full-blown crystal-looking greek armor. Pretty rad. He feels a bit exposed because of the transparency, but eh. At least the platinum chainmail battle-skirt covers everything important. Most tolerable out of all the outfits.

Cale detests the transformations, but he's a pragmatic person and he needs the powers too much to refuse using them. For some reason, Cale is the only one convinced the outfits & glittery transformations are extremely awkward and embarrassing.

(Also all the enemies always politely wait for the transformation to finish before attacking, and Cale milks that dumb cliche to its fullest advantage by having his allies smack the enemies on the back in the meantime)

Let's not forget, of course, that Cale isn't the ONLY one with Ancient Powers in this AU… 😂

Yes, WS had a 1,000 years to completely lose all shame concering being a Magical Anime Girl in Colorful Skirt. Cale is especially furious to realize the outfits kind of look really good on him, too!! But Cale is the master of BS and eventually, he out-fabulous'es even the White Star out of sheer pettiness!
