Y'know I've heard people complain the oracion seis designs are so on the nose but honestly i think it fits. They are all kids who grew up being groomed into villains and hyper focusing on one specific dream they had. Why would they not express that dream in every way they can? Why would they not wear who they are literally on their sleeve after they've speant so long under others control?

That's also kind of consistent for a lot of the tower of heaven people. Erza wears armor to feel safe, but she also fully embodies and embraces the image of being a knight. Her number 1 goal has always been to protect everyone, so she embodied that in every way she could.

Milliana loving cats and Wallys movies are treated as character gags, but it's the same situation. Wally watched that movie the day he was almost free. He obsesses over the character because the guy in the movie is an awesome shooter guy, and he was a starving child slave. That's what freedom looked like to him, so that's what he wanted to be. Milliana obsesses over cats. Cats don't listen to anyone. They get food and shelter, and they can do whatever they want all the time. If that's not freedom, idk what is. i can totally see why she wanted to be one.

With some characters it's less overt but still looking at their designs and especially their magic types I can pretty easily draw connections from them to what they wanted out of life and what freedom meant to them and I think that's pretty cool

Crime Sorciere Headcanons cause I'm obsessed

Meredy is the only optimist in the group. It's a bunch of sad drama queens and then Meredy desperately telling them everything is gonna be okay

Jellal just straight up gives up some days. Like everyone's being a little shit and he just sits down and pretends none of them exist. Imagine a parent ignoring their kid yelling their name over and over again.

Ultear and Jellal have huge sibling energy. Richard isn't fully convinced they aren't actually brother and sister

Thanks to Richard repeatedly saying the word love. They all also say it all the time. It's become a kind of greeting between them. "Love?" "Love."

All of them are dumbasses. Not a single braincell in the group. Sawyer blew up the microwave and Ultear in response froze it in time. It still sits in the kitchen halfway exploded.

"So Erik can man up and ask out a Fairy Tail woman but Jellal..." "Shup up shut up shut up"

Meredy is super organized and wants a constant schedule. Erik is the opposite and it drives her nuts (she's convinced he does it just to fuck with her)

"Let's wake up Macbeth" "NO". Do not interrupt that mans sleep

Is that really just me, or does Sawyer/Racer from Fairy Tail kind of looks like a frog in the Key of the Starry Sky arc ?

When the. When Fairy tail (anime) chapter 246/71 of the 2014 series.

It's canon to me in ways that I can't even put into words.

Elaboration under the cut, but fair warning, I initially wrote 80% of it on the tags, and while I cleaned it up a bit, it's still written like someone screaming in the tags of a post while re-watching the chapter, because that's what was happening.✌️

Richard being caring but also saying “I mean. He went up against the other four. There's no way he would walk it out in one piece”

“We were set free from the tower and the council (we can't be put in chains again. We can't be held down, helpless, once more. Much less by Jellal of all people). We're free!” < Sawyer.

OS bickering like children/like siblings is so, so good. Them turning to Macbeth like one would with a mom or a leader, too like “pls settle this argument” while the dude is clearly not even paying attention, too lost in considering the pros and cons of following Jellal or murdering him in not-so-cold blood.

The way Sawyer was clearly, visibly anxious. Fidgeting, going back and forth, physically, verbally, looking for any backup in his desire. No. His need to get the fuck away from there, from Jellal, as soon as possible. He's jittery, and it's so, so painfully obvious that every little defense mechanism is kicking in. He wants to run away, like he always has. That's how he deals with pain, with fear. He runs, and runs, and prays that nothing catches up to him, that all of it dissappears into the horizon and that he's fast enough to never be caught again.

��I've made my mind. I'll go with him (I want to give it a shot. I want to try to earn a way back to my sister).”

“Do what you want. I... (I won't stay. I won't risk it. I'm not going to be held down. Not again.)” < Also Sawyer

“(Interrupts) I... I won't be under anyone else again (I can't. I won't make that mistake again. And you're right). I will not let anyone steal this freedom (no matter what I have to do). However... (they're right. I won't submit. But I will go as well)” (because Sorano and Richard deserve to go back to their siblings. And they can't be free if they're running 24/7 from the council, a whole country on their asses for the crimes they committed. They all know that. And perhaps it's a pointless endeavor, but they can try.)

“Say it clearly” vs “Oh don't drag me into this” vs “oh he's shy” they're siblings your honor. Or the closest thing to it.

THE BALAM ALIANCE.

Both Rusty and OS deciding that yes. They're honoring the pact because they're not little bitches (like Tartaros) and they have their pride. Even if the guilds disbanded. Even if they're no longer seen as part of the alliance. They took pride on who they were. They took pride on adhering to the code. On keeping their word. On being dark mages. And they're not going to spit on the face of that pride goddammit! Because pride might also be the last thing any of them has anyway.

RUSTY TOO like. Damn. He's broken. Using his magic to create the illusion that his guildmates are still alive, still with him. That he isn't fucking alone in the world.

Them recognizing Rusty + Erik bullying him into talking but not threatening him. Listening to him. All of it. Not judging him. Like, they only bully him about “saying it with a proud face” and “trying to look interesting” because they would do it too. And Erik just *praising* him like damn, you have courage. But they don't question that he went to Tartaros. They don't call him stupid for trying to negotiate. If anything they agree with him.

The near instant, confident. “we won't go against tartaros.” (See above, honoring the pact)

"We might have done fucked up shit, but we built a guild we were proud of, and we're not spitting on its legacy" < that's pretty much what he said, but with prettier words.

The hysterical exchange of "Jellal: *airs their businesses.*" "Meredy: I mean. You could still kick them to the curb buuuuut ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I get it." And then Erik like this fucking bitch. At least use our codenames! (proceeds to get teased). But also, on that line. Jellal. Jellal actually saying that he wants to take responsibility for his actions, actually taking responsibility, and not just wallowing in his guilt. He also recognizes that freedom won't magically erase their trauma. Like, woah.

“You could use your sensory link (please. Please do. Please use it. Tell me that we're still guildmates. That we're still friends. Tell me that I'm not alone. That you're with me. That this hasn't been for nothing. Please)" and “Dissappear from this world for Meredy's sake” Rusty was so desperate about reconnecting with her and the guild.

It's endlessly hilarious that Meredy jumped to see if Jellal was okay while Rusty was there. Ass up. Unmoving. With smoke coming off of him. Like, darling, priorities. Please.

I'm like. 90% sure they hit Rustyrose like they hit each other, anyway. A smack or kick because fuck that's enough shut up, for fucks sake. They def hit Jellal with accumulated anger, though.

"We don't want the freedom given to us by other people" (it's more like. Yeah, no thank you/pass on that thing) "This time, we will attain that freedom with our own hands." Damn.

Not only is it an emotional, mature moment, but it can even read as "we know what you mean, and what your intentions are, now. But you don't have to set us free, we'll do that ourselves. You don't have to give it to us on a silver plate." it's acceptance, and rejection, and agreement to join the guild all in one and it changes things so, so much.

Meredy and Erik had a Moment of camaraderie, looked at each other, and hauled Rustyrose with them, one by each arm. Dragged him with them, as they should. Any animosity be damned, they're getting the pathetic loser to go with them one way or the other. (He wanted to go). This doesn's happen in the chapter, but it's canon in my heart.

the oracion seis (minus brain fuck that dude) are family, no matter what. sure they're not blood related at all, however they grew up together. they've always bickered (when they were able to without brains eyes watching them) like siblings do over the smallest things. even after sorano joined sabertooth and not part of the same guild as the rest for the most part, shes still their sister.

anyways they're family (even if they became family to each other due to trauma n making good of what was bad situation aka brain lol)

Some Crime Sorciere joining Fairy Tail headcanons:

- Jellal wins his S-Class trial easily.

- Meredy quickly wins everyone’s hearts. She's very close with Lisanna.

- The fact that Erik can hear so well freaks them all out. A lot of them avoid him at first because of this.

- Mirajane plays matchmaker for all of them but instead of relationships, she’s trying to get them to befriend specific members of the guild.

- The Oracion Seis in particular need a lot of help making friends at first. They are so used to only having one another that they are terrible at being social.

- Mira and Erik form a very freaky friendship. She makes him special drinks with poison and he gives her the latest tea of fairy romance

- Jellal gets challenged to a fight at least 3 times a day. Everyone wants him to throw down with laxus or gildarts. He is not interested in the slightest

- Meredy loves the guilds fights. She hits you with the huge grin and then punches you right in the face. She’s a little terror

-Macbeth makes fast friends with Lucy and Levy because he often sleeps in the library which the two girls frequent often

-Sawyer and Richard love Jet and Droy. They are almost always spotted drinking together in the guild

Um... Since you like the Seis... What's your opinion of Sawyer/Racer?

In the original manga I suppose the Seis as a whole barring Cobra were more intended as setpieces, and I appreciated them in that vein as cleverly-designed characters whose powers took some intuiting and attention to detail to figure and some real effort and ingenuity to overcome.

What I really love is the expansion done on him (as with all of the Seis) in the anime-only Key of the Starry Skies arc. I think, of all the sacrifices made to obtain power, Racer's was the scariest. He got the speed he wanted...at the cost of sacrificing his human condition and becoming a barely-sapient savage. I also love that they went in-depth on what I thought was unexplored the first time around, which is the reason why he was obsessed with being fast--he was constantly being chased by abusive lunatic guards as a child slave.

Next up is Racer!

He's a part of the Oracion Seis but is later sent to Quatro Cerberus as a part of the Council's rehabilitation program.

His backstory stays relatively the same. He starts off as a child kidnapped by the Tower of Heaven cultists and is later found by Brain and recruited into the Guild.

He gets along surprisingly well with the Quatro Cerberus members. His high energy allows him to keep up with their wildness.

He has partial heterochromia in his right eye.

I wanted to keep the mohawk, but I struggled to draw it, so I gave him a hairstyle I could more easily draw that would still suit him. I also gave him a little blend between his blond hair and black roots.

I gave his outfit the colors of the bodysuit he wears in future arcs, since I don't plan on having him wear it in the rewrite. So, I decided to keep at least part of it by keeping the colors.
