i'm thinking about. wouldn't it be fucked up (affectionate) if isabeau and siffrin sorted their whole whatever out before the loops and before the king. but the entire time siffrin is internally like "oh he's only doing this because he thinks it's the end of the world and he's desperate, if we actually defeat the king i'm getting dumped right after"

in canon there's a little moment where isabeau is like "oh haha you've probably heard me confess a million times lol" but in this hypothetical torture space i don't think he'd be as.... chill? about that? if you're in an established relationship with someone and you find out they were like "hi i was in a timeloop for six months because i thought the party, INCLUDING YOU, would abandon me and not even once during the loops did i tell you i felt like this" that's got to hurt right

not to ascribe more meaning to romantic relationships, but it would definitely not be the same "ha ha i was Seen when i was roasted" as it was when isabeau had not yet told siffrin how he felt, any kind of Established Relationship (romantic or not) does come with. you know. expectations of honesty and trust and all that

it would be a lot harder for isabeau to carve away his own feelings from the issue at hand, is all. in my opinion. :3
