#saw a comic panel and got carried away

It actually makes a lot of sense that Bruce was one of the few people left standing in the crowd at Haly’s Circus when Dick’s parents died.
Watching two innocent people plummet to their deaths is gruesome. It’s shocking. It can be horribly traumatic, depending on the blunt force trauma of hitting the ground. They might not have died right away. They might have bled and made awful noises that were heard even above the sounds of the crowd.
But Bruce is Batman. Bruce saw his parents get murdered right in front of him. And he knows the sounds and sights of someone dying. He’s hardened himself to stay calm in a situation like that, both through trauma and practice.
I think the image of a young Dick Grayson making eye contact with the one unshaken person in the crowd is chilling. A man standing resolute when everyone else is screaming, sadness etched across his face. But not panic. Not confusion. Resignation, maybe.

Linked Universe Enterence p.3
Okay! So I have thoughts!!!!
First off, does anyone remember when JoJo shared those first snippets? How there was a fun little detail that suddenly disappeared when the comic actually became more than doodles?
Yeah, I'm talking about this guy
Tumblr media
(Not the grouchy old man being offended, the owl LOL)
I know there's a chance I'm wrong, a big one at that, but I think it would be really cool if, if only for a short while, JoJo brought him back, even if it's just for this era of Hyrule. Let Time have his owl buddy!
Anyways, to the actual comic!
I noticed that the boys are all still together, so I'm guessing they're waiting until they come to a cross-roads to actually split up like Four advised last time. So we have that to look forwards to in the coming updates!
I love that she's really highlighting the similarities and differences in this arc, showing us who knows what and what they've done, but also the little things; both with owls and the antifairy!
I adore the Owlan reference/appearance!
And Time immediately agreeing about the "long, drawn out lectures part" made me laugh. (His expression, my Hylia!!!)
Tumblr media
That is the face of a man who kept accidentally asking to "hear it again" and regrets it with every bone of his being LOL
It's good to see more call backs to the last comics too! Having Hyrule be wary of the statue because he remembers seeing it before, and Warriors agreeing, but also reminding that it didn't cause harm. The fact that Hyrule keeps his sword pointed at it though, wary, does say a lot about how cautious he's being all the same (Wild ought to take notes)
And of course this whole panel
Tumblr media
Twilight's awkwardly trying to assure the rest without spilling the secret, Sky laughing and turning to look at Legend, and the fact that the vet is just so entirely done with even just the thought of being a rabbit. (I love his face, omgosh).
Tumblr media
Te way I screamed "anti-fairy!" when I saw this, and then was so, so delighted that Legend and I had the same thought (I am unwell about this man).
Tumblr media
I'm equally unwell about the fact that Legend just has to say "ouch" (which you only say at inconveniences and not real, actual hurts) and immediately everyone's turning, weapons out and ready to help him face...whatever. Like, he's fine, guys, but it's sweet you care (now Legend, please take note and realize you belong, you idiot)
Tumblr media
Love that Time hears "fairy" and immediately is all ears. All the more so at the "anti" part. Man was raised by fairies and he absolutely doesn't like the idea of something that would hurt them.
Meanwhile Legend is just being freaking Haku (Spirited Away) over here!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tell me you don't see it!!!!!!
Also, his casual use of magic to purify something, to just make it no longer a threat, rather than hurting it. That need to save EVERYONE is really showing through here, huh?
And immediately, everyone is shocked that he did that, but also what it means about fairies. About dark magic. But Time and Wars especially!
Tumblr media
Gosh, just Legend's little worried face and Time's offense at the idea of fairies being corrupted and harmed. Shows a bit about them here too I think. Time is maybe slightly obsessed with fairies (reasonably so) and hates them being harmed, but he shows his worry on the matter in anger. legend, meanwhile, becomes more sombre, quieter: it bothers him too (maybe reminds him of a certain predecessor?)
Tumblr media
Get this man a tiara, he's a freaking Disney Princess over here, good grief!!!! He's carrying fairy food on what? The slim chance he has time to stop and feed them? Honestly, i know he's probably as attached to fairies as Time (although with a healthier relationship with them), but this is just too cute. this man is going to be the death of me!!!
Anyways, here's the bonuses!!!!
Tumblr media
SUN APPEARANCE!!!!!!!! We have a canon Sun appearance!!!!! Like, sure, sleepy student Sky, but it's SUN!!!!
Tumblr media
This smile. Oh my gosh I adore him. He's just so glad he got to help the corrupted little one become normal again.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
JoJo was having fun with Four I see LOL
Tumblr media
Man really said "hang on, let me check my purse, I think I have snacks in here"
Freaking Mom Coded

Shout-out to @midnight-in-santa-carla! I saw your tags on that post (we all know the one) and thought why not? Here's some NSFW Michael and David for you, and I hope you enjoy. :)
Also on AO3
***
"I'm gonna get you for this, Emerson."
Under other circumstances, this might have been intimidating, but as it is, Michael is barely even impressed. Maybe it's the pitiful, frustrated whine that has taken the place of David's usual devil-may-care attitude that does it. Maybe it's that Michael has been working him over with hands and mouth for ages now and it's hardly the first time the threat has been issued that takes the sting out of it. Maybe it's that every time Michael thinks this is surely it, the moment when David finally goes over the edge, his eyes flash yellow and his fangs lengthen dangerously and yet there is never any release.
What Michael does know is that this is a lot more fun than he'd anticipated.
Blame it on Sam and those cheesy comics he'd left lying around. Michael had caught a glimpse of a panel featuring a cartoonishly frightened damsel in distress and a wizened old man assuring her in a cramped little speech bubble, "Don't worry, miss! Vampires can't come inside without permission!" And in his own defense, how was he not supposed to put it to the test?
David and the rest of the boys showed up after dark and it took some work to convince Marko, Paul, and Dwayne to head out without them, but Michael won in the end. David, on the other hand, needed almost no convincing to stay back and fool around, especially with the rest of the Emersons out of the house and out of their way. Michael played it cool, waiting until they were both half naked and half hard before he asked, "Is it true?"
"Is what true?" David replied before leaning down to nip at Michael's neck. Not a serious bite, but enough to get his heart racing that much faster.
Michael unzipped David's fly and reached into his pants to wrap a hand around his cock. He let out a long sigh at the first touch but his breath hitched after only a few strokes, and Michael had to resist a self-satisfied smirk. "Can vampires come inside without permission?" he asked.
"You had to invite me in, didn't you?" He let Michael carry on for a bit, then drew back enough to narrow his eyes in suspicion. "Why?"
Michael pushed him back onto the bed then climbed after him. "You'll see."
There's no telling how long it's been since, and Michael has yet to get bored of this. David is past curses and threats and has finally started begging, but Michael isn't about to let him off the hook. After all the teasing and hazing and other bullshit, David has earned some payback, and Michael is more than happy to oblige.
It's about time that cocky bastard got what was coming to him.
Michael finally rolls onto his back and David takes the hint. A few moments to maneuver and then he's sinking deep, with one hand flat on the bed for balance and the other between their bodies stroking Michael in time to each thrust of his hips. Jesus, it's too good... Michael isn't going to last long like this...
"Michael," David says, the word raspy and breathless, "stop fucking with me, please, you gotta let me..."
He's almost there himself, right at the edge and ready to go over...
"Michael..."
He opens his mouth, the words right there on his lips--
The rumble of an old engine and the blare of an off-key horn horn cut him off.
Michael shoves David away with enough force he falls off the bed, landing with a loud thump and a shocked expletive. Ignoring him, Michael bolts to the window and peers through the blinds in a panic to see headlights pulling up the driveway. Grandpa is home early.
"Michael, what the fuck?" David demands, picking himself up off the floor and following to the window. "Who is that?"
Michael abandons the window and starts searching for discarded clothes. "You gotta get out of here," he says. "Hurry up, before someone sees you."
"Are you shitting me?" David catches the shirt Michael flings at him and puts it on, too distracted to notice it's inside out. "You're just gonna string me along all night and then kick me out before either of us gets to finish?"
"I didn't plan it that way," Michael insists, still throwing David's clothes at him. "And don't act like you didn't like it."
David grins midway through getting his pants back on. "You're right. I kinda did."
The door slams shut downstairs as they move to the window again. Michael eases it open slowly so it doesn't creak and gestures out into the night. "Go. I'll catch up with you later."
David steps onto the sill and pulls Michael in for one last kiss before giving him an impertinent pat on the cheek. "Next time I see you, you're in deep shit," he says.
"Next time I see you, I'll string you along even longer," Michael replies.
David smiles. Not his usual devilish, arrogant grin, but one of the rare, softer ones with more warmth and sincerity. "See you around, Michael." He steps out of the window and there's a rushing sound as he disappears into the night, and Michael stares after him before turning away to get dressed. Hopefully, Grandpa won't notice him sneaking out. If he dawdles, he'll never catch up, and he doesn't want to keep David waiting.
Well. Maybe not for too long.

Request: “Killer clown from Outer space Buk/ka/ke.”
Imagine getting abducted by Klowns.
Slim, perfectly imitating Mike’s voice, announced you were to be cream-pied. The other Klowns giggled at your horrified expression.
You saw what happened to the security guard. Pied to the face, which by itself would’ve gotten them in trouble. If only you knew then what had happened to Sergeant Mooney. Somehow you were still convinced someone must be able to stop the invasion.
That poor guard, melted into a pile of goo. Clowns pelting acidic pies was so comically evil. You would’ve laughed if you were a member of the audience and not an eyewitness.
While Chubby carried your balloon into the Big Top, you glanced back to see Shorty plop an oversized cherry on the guard-turned-dessert. Were they leaving a meal for someone else? Did their home planet have giant cherry trees, their fruit used to fatten livestock?
If Debbie or I pop a balloon, someone’s getting cotton candied.
Klowns were hemophagic. It was hard to think of a scarier fate than being sucked dry by space aliens. The nightmarish funhouse setting would have delighted otherwise, coulrophile and carnival fan you were. Particularly the ride on a real clown car!
But you weren’t scheduled for exsanguination, or liquefaction, as you were about to learn.
There were so many balloons attached to the ceiling of the cocoon chamber. All different colors and patterns. It was difficult to tell how many other Earth women got captured.
The thought of Klowns conquering other worlds made you quake.
Shorty left. As the sliding door shut, you couldn’t shake the notion he was gathering more Klowns to meet Debbie and you.
Bibbo waddled over to the control panel. Slim lifted your friend up to a spare ceiling nozzle. For a split second, you thought Debbie would be siphoned into the spaceship. Leaving a blood-stained, but otherwise empty, sac. Instead, her balloon was promptly vacuumed into place. Still a prison. Debbie pressed her hands against the latex, pleading pitifully.
Next to hers were two empty balloons. One white with faint blue marbling; the other pink, resembling blown gum. You’d have killed for a stick, if your mouth had been dry. But you were salivating. Which didn’t go unnoticed by Chubby.
He untied the cord, allowing you to slip into his arms. Naked. Your clothes had been sucked away by the balloon. You swallowed your excess spit, prompting him to run an over-sized finger across your lips. Both pairs, the lower much wetter than the upper.
It occurred to you the Klowns all seemed male. And were chuckling at you, save for Chubby, whose very crooked smile grew dangerously large.
“Is that a juggling pin in your pocket or are you just happy to see her?” Slim’s query reminded you of his earlier words.
You weren’t livestock. Not exactly. Breeding, you thought, I’m going to be used as breed-
But, as the rest released their sizable erections, you wondered if Klowns and Earthlings were even genetically compatible.
They might just stuff your holes, over and over again. For the rest of your life.
The rest of my life as an intergalactic sex-slave.
An image of you, guzzling cum, costumed in gaudy lingerie, pleasuring multiple Klowns at once, popped into your head. A juggling pin inserted in your snatch, keeping it gaped after being roughly used by uncaring-
Fuck!
The invaders had released their members in unison. They more or less resembled human penises. Powder white with pulsing veins corresponding to their individual “face paint.” The openings in their suits weren’t wide enough to give you a glimpse of their balls, though.
Keeping your legs together was a chore. ‘Specially ‘cause you wondered what they had in mind exactly. One at a time? All at once? Hands and mammaries could be employed if the need arose. Right then the Klowns were employing their hands… on themselves. Chubby’s large dick, dabbing itself against your legs. Eager to split you open.
Oh God, you thought as the Klowns advanced, I'm going to be stuffed like a clown car.
Chubby was suddenly behind you, crouching you forward, his hardness deciding to fondly rub between your thighs.
Without warning, Bibbo stuck his thumbs into your mouth, pulling it into a grotesque grin while the others howled with laughter. It was futile. Too bad you couldn’t just lie back and think of Bozo. Your lips formed an O, like one of those carnival games where the goal’s to shoot water until the clown’s balloon pops.
The Klowns hummed in approval. Well, now I’m the entertainment.
But you were expecting to be squirted into, not on.
No wonder Chubby hadn’t slipped into you from behind yet.
Synchronized circle jerk. How many them were turned-on the ride over? You were too afraid to notice their arousal.
Just as Chubby’s… chubby jerked between your thighs, coating you from belly to chin, the others aimed for your face and tits. Managing to absolutely inundate you with their warm semen. Most of it splattered your face, shoulders, and neck. Miraculously, none of it got in your eyes. Though your eyelids felt sticky. Much of it did land in your mouth.
Out of reflex, you swallowed. Chubby’s grip loosened. Klown seminal fluid. Sweet and thick. Much better than human male jizz. And you weren’t saturated in it. Not in the way you now really wanted to be, anyway.
Reaching back to find your clit, you wondered who scored the most points in your mouth. Probably Rudy, who stood directly in front of you. Slim reached out to poke your cheek. Then trace a clowny smile around your lips.
There were no mirrors. If there were any on the ship, they’d probably be funhouse mirrors. So you couldn’t see just how much they’d creamed. Chubby’s hands slid up your sides and you raised yourself, lifting your arms to allow him access to your tits. They, along with your pussy, were dripping. Your chest with their cum, your crevice with your own arousal.
You could have gone for one of those stout white fingers up there just then. Why weren’t they advancing?
Rudy pointed past you, exclaiming. Chubby turned around, made a pleased noise, and gestured to Bibbo and Slim.
Your clothing was still in the balloon. Why the Klowns were so interested in them was soon answered.
Rudy and Bibbo held up your pants, while Chubby rummaged through the pockets and Slim held up your panties. Laughing in triumph with Mike’s voice.
Not to be outdone, Chubby showed the others a box of condoms. You stood there, naked, as they cooed with delight and ripped it open.
Watching them pass the wrappers, you figured Klowns had short refractory periods. But no, after opening the wrappers, they just starting using the contraceptives to make balloon animals.
Before you could ask them if the rumors about aliens and probes were true, the sound of the door sliding open announced Shorty’s return. Along with members of the Killer Klown troupe you hadn’t met yet.
Debbie screamed.

someone posted this panel regarding oliver vs bruces parenting taking a jab at bruce that seems funny enough, like we can just like the post and move on but i checked the notes and apparently fans of each family are at war arguing with each other😭mostly shitting on bruce because oliver is the better parent and somebody brought up how when queen and his kids were having issues at some point that it was ooc and while i am not super well read on GA stuff i can definitely buy that, but what i dont understand is why that isnt allowed for bruce. i saw tags concerning the other horrible things bruce has done as like a gotcha to bat fans and its like why are only his comics the ones we take at face value as 100% accurate and in good faith am i wrong for finding this dumb😭
not at all i totally agree it’s dumb lol 😭 the thing that confuses me about the bruce v oliver debate is that i don’t get why there’s a need to compare when their parenting issues are at completely different ends of the spectrum. granted i do think both of them have issues with communicating but those stem from different things. every problem bruce has as a parent has to do with how he neurotic he is about being a parent to begin with. he cares too much, he worries constantly, he carries reams of guilt, etc. he’s constantly arguing within himself whether to keep the people he loves close so he can make sure they’re safe or to let them go so they can pursue their own dreams and aren’t put in harm’s way bc he asked them to stay. he’s like, a conditional-helicopter parent, in the sense that the helicopter gene only activates when people are in his city, which is why he allows them to walk away bc then it means he’s not trying to control them (except we obv know that leads to the problem where they feel like he’s pushed them away bc they think he thinks they’re not good enough)
oliver to me in comparison is someone who initially did not take parenthood seriously enough and almost treated it like he did any other relationship. unlike bruce, he was very intentional with treating roy like an equal—when i use that modifier at the beginning what i mean to say is that bruce was very cognizant of his position as a parent. dick’s safety was a higher priority than was dick’s self esteem (at least beyond the zucco incident which had a very specific goal of closure) even though bruce very much came to believe that dick was his equal, esp as an adult—and to the extent that when roy got into serious trouble with drugs oliver not only expressed this sort of condemnatory disappointment but also only expressed pride at roy having recovered from his addiction later on bc it was something he did on his own. he respected roy’s responsibility and maturity even though realistically as a parent he should have stepped in to help bc roy was still barely an adult and he had fallen prey to drugs bc oliver left him alone in the first place
those are both styles of parenting that i think you can criticize. there’s pros and cons to being too protective of your children vs not protective enough. and i think people tend only to criticize the former style and its example in bruce bc a recovery of his relationships with his children has never been the goal in the way that it is for oliver’s writers. which is a shame bc i really don’t think you or i believe bruce is as intentionally selfish as writers portray him to be. but alas 😭

Could you do something where the reader is a marvel actor but crashes a panel that Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan are doing (kinda like Tom Holland did that one time) but the sofa is small so the reader is squished in between them and has to share their mics when asked questions something like that. It can be platonic but they are really close or the reader has a little thing going on with Seb but is really close with Mackie. I hope that made sense!
Oooo this request is so cute! Thank you for the request lovely, hope you like it!💜
a/n: This imagine is HEAVY on the dialogue because I wanted to include some fun questions from the fans and what not, anyway here’s the imagine:)
💌.
Stackie Sandwich
You watched from backstage as Anthony showed off his thighs to the crowd, you know, the usual. You were currently at ACE Comic Con along with Anthony and Sebastian. You always enjoyed going to these kind of things. Meeting and getting to interact with the fans was always fun, it reminded you of why you did these movies and how thankful you were to have such lovely, supportive fans.
Currently you and the crew backstage were trying to find a way to sneak you onto the stage without interrupting a question.
Anthony sat back down on the small couch as Sebastian laughed at his friend’s antics.
“I’m telling y’all, you wanna have thighs like these, you gotta do leg day. Don’t skip leg day.” Anthony tells the crowd as he nudges Sebastian. You chuckle from backstage as Kevin Smith, the monitor of the panel continues.
“So I know we were supposed to be joined by (y/n) (y/l/n), where is she?” He asked the men.
“Probably on a coffee run.” Sebastian answered immediately shaking his head with an eye roll. The crowd reacts with quiet giggles.
“I swear that woman cannot function without her coffee.” Anthony remarked.
“I’ve known her for years and lemme tell you it’s like her body is going through some kind of error. We were on set for a movie we did together and I was talking to her.” Anthony started as he leaned forward.
“Now I didn’t know she didn’t have her coffee yet. I’ve been talking for like 10 minutes and the whole time she was sleeping. And when she began to like wake up and talk, it was like she was a sloth.” Anthony shared as he proceeded to act like a sloth saying “Error 404” really slow.
You turned to the stage hand and said “I’m going now, he just called me a sloth.”
The man laughed and handed you a mic from the side. Before walking out you say into the mic, “I know you ain’t talking about me, Mackie.” You walk out to the stage and the crowd cheers loudly. Mackie throws his head back as he laughs.
“Hey everyone!” You greet the crowd, waving at all of them. You approached the guys with your arms up in a “fight me” manner, it was mostly for Anthony. You greet Kevin and move to Sebastian, purposely skipping Anthony.
“Hey, dragostea.” Seb greeted you as he wraps his arms around your body. You giggled as you wrapped your arms around his neck and hide your face in between his neck and shoulder.
When you pull away you turn to Anthony who looked offended. You send him a playful smile and smack his arm before jumping on him and wrapping your arms around him. He lets out his boisterous laugh and hugs you back. In the process you drop your mic on the stage causing you to cringe.
You guys settle onto the small couch. You sat in between Anthony and Seb, fairly squished in the middle by the two buff men. Their legs took up too much space on the couch, leaving no room for your own legs. The crowd laughed at your face as you tried to make yourself comfortable in the tight space.
You went to speak into your mic but it didn’t register. Looks like you broke the mic.
“Look at you, haven’t been up here for a minute and you already broke something.” Anthony tisked playfully. Sebastian poked you with his mic and handed it to you. You thanked him with a smile.
“I’ll pay for that! Just send me the bill.” You yell towards the back. You look at Anthony and raise your brow at him.
“You need to pipe down, son. You’ve been coming at me all morning long.” You acknowledged pointing a finger at him. The crowd laughs along with Seb. Anthony nods as he stifles his laughs to himself.
“(Y/n), thank you for joining us, how are you?” Kevin asks you.
“I’m doing great! I’m so excited to be here and meet all of you! I saw so many of you guys dressed up, and you all look absolutely amazing! I also saw a dog on my way here!” You answered bubbly.
“What kind of dog?” Sebastian asked pulling your hand with the mic towards him.
“A golden retriever and omg he was dressed as Cap!” You squealed.
“I hope that dog is here because I want to meet them and just smother them with hugs.” You add as you motion to the audience.
“Sebastian said you were running late because you were on a coffee run, is that true?” Kevin asks as Sebastian scrunches his nose.
“I mean he’s not completely wrong. I got coffee before I got here. But the traffic on the way here was really bad.”
“She’s lying, she spent a good half hour at Starbucks sippin’ on her coffee while inhaling the smell of Starbucks like an addict.” Anthony jokingly jabs at her. You were used to the playful jabs from Mackie, it was how you guys were. Knowing each other for years, you guys formed a brother/sister relationship.
“Alright then! So, we’ve got a line forming for the questions! How about we start?” Kevin continued as he motioned to the crowd.
🕓 Time Skip
It’s half an hour into the panel and you guys have been asked so many questions already. Some about your characters, the relationships off screen, and some new projects. Thankfully the crowd was very nice and respectful to you all, no one asked anything rude or made offensive comments.
The laughs were just dying down after Mackie told another one of his jokes. A teenage girl dressed as your character came up to the mic.
“Hi, my name is Maddie and my question is for (y/n)!” She waved at you with a grin.
“Hi, hun! You look beautiful by the way, I love your costume!” You complimented her, taking Anthony’s mic. She thanks you and continues.
“I—, I’m sorry you’re just so small compared to Anthony and Seb on that couch. You’re so cute!” The audience laughs along with the two men next to you.
You huff and squish your way out between Anthony and Sebastian’s bodies, “In my defense it’s a really small couch! And these guys are so beefy they take up all the space on here!”
“It’s a Stackie sandwich with a side of (y/n)!!” Mackie enthusiastically announced making the crowd go crazy.
Sebastian moved further into the corner of the couch making more space for you. He even moved his arm to rest on top of the couch’s backrest. You could hear some fans point it out and squeal. You thank him by patting his leg as his arm lingered behind you.
“So my question is, how is it like to be around such tall people? Because I’m short as well and I have to always look up at everyone.” Maddie says into the mic.
“That’s exactly how it is! Sometimes I get concerned if I’ll mess up my back because I have to look up at everyone!” You say into Sebastian’s mic, which he voluntarily held up for you.
“We carry her around a lot on set.” Seb chimes from beside you.
“Yeah like a sack of potatoes.” Anthony adds.
You pull on Seb’s arm to talk into the mic, “They also tease me a lot, but it’s all in good fun.”
—•
“Hey guys! I’m Jess and my question is for Anthony! So you and (y/n) have worked on multiple projects together. How was it like to be in Marvel with each other and act along side each other?”
You giggled at the question, turning to Anthony, “How’s it like to work with me, huh?”
“I mean, honestly, it’s always an honor to work with (y/n). I’m glad that I know someone like her in this business, she’s one of the most genuinely nice people you’ll ever meet. And I respect her for that because sometimes it’s hard to not get blinded by the fame and just become a dick, or a diva in your case.” Anthony answered as he threw an arm around you.
“Aww thanks, Mac.” You smile and lean on his shoulder.
“And to add onto that. Our characters in the movie are pretty close as well, so when Anthony and I have scenes together, it doesn’t even feel like acting. It’s always a great time on set when he’s around.” You finished off.
—•
“Hi, I’m Elena and my question is for Sebastian!”
“This is our last question for the panel, so make it good!” Kevin interjects.
“Go ahead, sweetheart.” Sebastian says to the fan.
“Bucky and (y/c/n) have really good chemistry with each other in the movies and the relationship doesn’t feel forced onto the fans. I wanted to know if any of the chemistry on screen is real offscreen?” Elena asked with a cheeky grin. You remained quiet as you felt Anthony nudge you with his knee.
Sebastian longingly stared at you for a moment before answering, “Well it’s not hard to act like you’re in love with (y/n), because everyone on set loves her. She unapologetically herself and I think that’s what makes it so easy to have chemistry with her, it just felt natural with her, you know?”
“To answer your question, Elena. They’ve been on a few dates already.” Anthony blurted out causing the audience to erupt. You looked at him with your mouth agape from your position on Sebastian. You were currently leaning into his side while your arm rested on his thigh.
“You weren’t supposed to say that.” Sebastian uttered as he moved his arm to wrap around your shoulders. You’d be lying if you said you didn’t have feelings for Seb. You guys definitely had chemistry offscreen and everyone knew about it.
“Hey! All I’m implying is that y’all need to both stop beating around the bush and make it official Anthony defended himself.
“Fine!”
“(Y/n), how do you feel about dinner tonight?” Sebastian asked you.
“Sounds good.” You smile at him.
“Great, we have some things to discuss.” He playfully teased the crowd.
“FEELINGS!” Anthony yelled over Sebastian.
Kevin laughed as he ended the panel, “On that note! Our panel has come to an end, thank you everyone for showing up and for your questions! Thank you Anthony, (y/n), and Sebastian for coming here we really appreciate it!”
You guys thank the crowd again and take a group picture with the audience. Anthony leaves the stage first followed by you and Seb. Sebastian helps you down the stairs and keeps a hand on your back.
“Wait, are we actually going to dinner?” You asked looking up at him.
“Yeah, I told you, we’ve got some stuff to talk about.” He winks as he leads you guys to the green room.

NYX
Tumblr media
Pairings: Bucky Barnes x Reader
Summary: Nyx was a legend, others referred to her as a myth of a bygone era, but so was the Winter Soldier once. The two shared a common past and now a common mission. However, their feelings for one another could danger their goal.
Word Count: 4,403
Authors Note: This story is inspired by the Marvel Comics with Bucky Barnes and Natasha Romanoff and Falcon and the Winter Soldier Series.
+ nyx =  /Nýx/ - the Greek goddess (or personification) of the night. A shadowy figure.
____________________________________
“I was their secret weapon...or at least I was one of them. She was another. Something about her touched what was left of my humanity. Buried under all that programming.” Bucky touched the back of his neck. “A long time ago, Y/N made me remember what it was to feel human.”

MADRIPOOR - Low Town:
After several weeks of looking for clues to the "Flag Smashers", your way brought you to Madripoor. One of the most criminal cities in the world. If you didn't want to be robbed or even die here immediately, you had to be someone and have made a name for yourself. It's good that you already had that.
“Nyx”, Your informant greeted you. “Where’s my money?”
You smirked. “Do I have to remind you what happens, if you keep talking to me in that tone?”
You wanted to take a sip of the bourbon you had just ordered, but your informant knocked it out of your hand and the glass broke on the floor. Before the glass hit the floor, you grabbed him by his throat and pushed him down on the counter.
The bar owner, Jerry, wanted to interfere. His bar was the only one in Madripoor with zero tolerance against violence, if you wanted to fight you should do it outside.
You raised your finger and showed the owner that he should wait, he also knew who you were, which was why he repected you.
“Do you know how hard it is to find a good bar with my favorite bourbon in Madripoor?” The guy shook his head while you gripped tighter. “No? now let me tell you - it's as hard as really doing anything with your expensive information.” You let go of him.
“I-I told you everything, I know.”
“I-I” You laughed. “Remembered who I am, huh?” You ordered another Bourbon. “So, first of all, this drink, you’ll pay for it.” You took a sip and smiled. “Next, you’re going to tell me all you know about Kali and then I’ll pay you.”
You didn't get an answer, but you realized he still knew something when he nervously looked at his phone. You rolled your eyes, stood up, and turned around. "Jerry, I'm really sorry but I tried the nice way." You slightly pulled your dress up and took out your gun, turned to the informant and released the fuse.
“Phone,” You winded your eyes, “now!”
You rolled your eyes, still pointing at the guy. “Zemo - High Town, you’ve got to be kidding me.”  You put your gun back and broke his phone. “I’m very disappointed and our Deal is over, don’t make a mistake - don’t follow me.” You spoke serious. “Or it's the last thing you'll ever do.”

MADRIPOOR - High Town - Brass Monkey Saloon:
High Town in Madripoor was way different than Low Town. More drugs, weapons sex, rich people and power. The petty criminals were no longer represented here; criminal elite were gathered here.
“Nyx,” The Bartender greeted you. “Long time no see even though you look stunning in that dress (X), thought you were done with this life.”
“Well, a girl has to eat,” You smirked. “And to drink.”
The bartender smiled and brought you your favorite bourbon. “Did you hear the rumors about Zemo?”
“Heard he’s back in town.” You took a sip of your glas.
He raised his eybrow. “This Bastard is accompanied by the Winter Soldier.”
You choked. He patted you on the shoulder. After you were sure you hadn't misheard, you inspected the club more closely.
You looked at the Bartender, “You never saw me.” he nodded.
You nervously went to the ladies' room. You’ve heard that James was still alive and that he now had a part of his memory back, so you thought he had stopped being the Winter Soldier and started a life of his own outside of H.Y.D.R.A.. But now that he was Zemo's company you thought about following them and finding out what that their Partnership was about.
You checked whether there was anyone else in the toilet besides you and when you were sure that you were alone, you took a deep breath and turned on the water. You suddenly got a slight headache and grabbed your head, when you looked at yourself in the mirror, your flashbacks started.

Ages ago - Red Room:
You were one of the best and yet you always had to prove it. After you had defeated each of your fellow campaigners, your leaders were still not satisfied and they let you fight the Winter Soldier - again
“AGAIN!” The Winter Soldier shouted and you fell you arm would break if you’d hit him again.
“AGAIN!”
“AGAIN!”
“James, I-I need a break.”
“What did you just call me?” He asked as he noticed the penetrating looks of the other woman and you remembered that nobody should now.
The Winter Soldier knocked you out.
____________________________________
After James knocked you out, you were brought to your room, you woke up hours later. You touched your head and noticed the bump he gave you.
"Stupid, bastard." You mumbled.
“I’m sorry, you know I had to.” You recognized his voice.
You looked around and saw his silhouette sitting in the corner, presumably he came through the window into your room again, like so many times before.
You shook your head, “No, I am sorry. I've put both of us in danger”
Bucky got up and went to you. He let his right hand slowly slide up over your arm to your neck and finally to your head, he too felt the bump. You felt his guilt, but you knew he would never really hurt you.
“Stop it.” You wrapped your arms around his neck. “James, you know I could’ve easily taken you down.” You smirked.
Because of him, you could endure the whole ordeal at all. If he just looked at you, you lost yourself in his blue eyes and if he held you in his arms he gave you a warm home. He was your anchor to carry on every day and you were his.
“I told you to call me Bucky.”
You pulled him closer to you, “I’m glad that you start to remember who you’re.”
He put his hands gently around your waist and pulled you closer as he slowly leaned in to kiss you.
____________________________________
After cooling your wrists and neck, your pulse calmed down and the flashbacks were gone.
“Thankfully I have often had to look out from above in this God-forsaken place.”
You jumped on one of the sinks and pushed a panel of the roof aside. You pulled yourself up and crawled back to the dance floor so that no one could see you but you could see everyone.
You spotted Zemo, so it wasn't a rumor and he really was back, but you haven't been able to locate Bucky yet. But it was strange for Zemo that his companion was smiling Tiger.
You were a little rusty in lip reading but you understood that he wanted to talk to Shelby. This would have been your next step too. The mood in the club began to turn. People started staring at Zemo as one of Powerbroker's bodyguards made himself known.
“Зимний солдат атака” Zemo ordered.
“No” You covered your mouth with your hands.
Bucky stepped out of the shadows and was now clearly in your field of vision. He didn't see you, it seemed as if he only saw what he always saw first - an order and his mission. He was ready to comply. He attacked the men who were trying to get Zemo.
Elegant and graceful like a cat, you glide silently along the steel girders,  and watched every movement of James, did Zemo really manage to turn him into his personal puppet?
Bucky knocked down man after man as if they were nothing. Your pulse went faster and your movements on the steel beams became more uncontrolled as you followed his fight. Your heart felt the urge to intervene, you reminded Bucky so many times who he was - not any ones weapon, that you stopped counting and seeing him like this again felt like you had failed him.
When you were almost about to fall, people simultaneously pulled out their guns. James stopped fighting and was called back by Zemo. You regained control of your heartbeat and your body relaxed, which helped you to find your balance again.
The bartender informed Zemo that the three would now be welcomed by Shelby.
You couldn't follow them any further without getting into the line of fire. You waited until they left and slowly made your way down from the steel girders and landed on the floor. People looked at you questioningly.
“What? Lady’s stay out of meaningless fights.” And with that you left the bar.
____________________________________
After a few minutes outside the club you got a message, but it seemed you weren't the only one. Cell phones all around you started chiming, people were chatting and looking around. Shelby placed a pretty high bounty and now everyone would be looking for James
You heard gunshots, “Great.”
Of course, instead of being smart and running away from the gunshots like every other person, you couldn't help but run to exactly where they came from. You hadn't seen Bucky in a long time, but everything in your body demanded to find him before someone could place a bullet between his beautiful ocean eyes.
You saw the bikers who drove behind Bucky and smiling Tiger, you pulled out your gun and fired at them. Two fell, thanks to you, the last one was taken out by a sniper.
“You seem to have a guardian Angel.” Zemo spoke breathless.
“Not quite.”
Bucky recognized this voice, but couldn't place it exactly on a face. He was just sure she wasn't a threat.
A blond woman showed up, “Nice shot. I take it from here,” she looked behind the man. “and you can crawl back into the darkness.” You smirked and nodded.
Before the men could turn around you had already disappeared into the shadows.
____________________________________
Within seconds you were on the roofs of Madripoor and on the way to your hotel. Being so close to Bucky clouded your mind and made you lose sight of your goal.
It helped you to walk over the rooftops in the middle of the night, it was like a release for you. In the night, in the deepest darkness, it was easier to order your thoughts, this is how you had been taught, how he had taught you to focus in case you should lose your way - switch everything dark and only listen to your inner voice.
You remembered him saying those words to you, “Your voice is what makes me lose my focus.” you held your neck and climbed into your Hotelroom through an open window.
After you were in your room, you inspected every inch for cameras, microphones or intruders of any kind, after this you closed every window, every door and every curtain.
“Finally.” You sighed as you pulled of your dress.
You looked even more threatening under your dress. There were small knives on both sides of your ribs and two different guns on your legs. You took everything off and put your weapons aside, all but your favorite gun (X).
“Your place is here.” You spoke soft and placed it under your pillow.
You went to bed and closed your eyes. The room was dark and absolutely silent while your thoughts and memories yelled at you.
____________________________________
“Can we just stay here forever?” You asked while laying in Buckys arms on top of the roof the Academy.
You looked up, the stars merged with the dark night and they seemed to be in perfect harmony.
“Whenever we’re separated, I look at the stars and I think of you. You are my night and I'm your star, he looked at his metal arm,” He tried to make the gun on his body positive. “even if we are often apart from each other, I cannot be without you-”
You lifted yourself up to look at him. “And I cannot be without you.”

MADRIPOOR - High Town - Unknown Place
It was already very late when Bucky, Sam and Zemo arrived at Sharon's apartment. They all wouldn’t have expected that Sharon had such a beautiful and safe hiding place in the middle of Madripoor, plus a successful business.
“How’s the new Cap?” She asked curious.
Bucky sat down on the couch, "Don’t get me started" he said with an annoyed voice.
Sharon scoffed. “Please. You buy into all that stars and stripes bullshit.” She sat next to him. “Before you were his pet psychopath, you were Mr. America!” Sharon chuckled as she noticed Zemo questioning look. “Cap’s best friend.”
Bucky was suprised by Sharon's words, none of them knew this side of her before.
“Wow. She’s kind of awful now.” Bucky mumbled.
Sam gave them an side eye, “Kali Morgenthau and at least seven others have taken the super soldier serum.” He sat down. “We won’t leave until we find the one who cracked the code.”
Sharon turned and stared out her window, “That’d explain her appearance. Either she wants to take it or destroy it.”
“Who?” Zemo asked.
“Nyx” Sharon stood up and got herself a drink.
Bucky stood up and he looked petrified. It was as if he had forgotten how to move or even show any kind of reaction within seconds. As he thought more and more about the day, he had felt her penetrating gaze, even though she was nowwhere to be seen. His heart was racing. Bucky’s eyes ran through the room, every dark corner was inspected, but she wasn’t called NYX for nothing.
Sam noticed Bucky's tense body, everything about him seemed like he was hopelessly overwhelmed with something that piercing his head.
“Hey man. You okay?” Sam gently touched his shoulder.
Zemo looked worried like Bucky would snap again any minute. “What is going on with him?”
Bucky went to Sharon and got worryingly close in her space. “What do you know about her and how can I contact her?”
Bucky's posture was tense. For someone who didn't know him, they might have thought, he would attack Sharon at any moment. But Sharon didn’t step back. She recognized something in his eyes, that she had once seen before, as she looked in Steve Roger’s after her Aunts dead - pain and a broken heart.
“This can’t be.” Sharon raised her eyebrow and crossed her arms. “You’re her-”
“What the hell is going on?” Sam interrupted.
“-Star”
Bucky's eyes blurred, his head started to ache, and he held on to the wall to keep from falling.
“I know you’ll always be with me!” You chuckled and looked into the dark blue night. “You’re my star, you watch out for me.”
He remembered a feminine and warm voice.
“What if they catch us?” You asked him worried.
Bucky gently touched your cheek, “Then I’ll fight them all.” he kissed you.
He remembered the texture of her soft skin and her gently touch.
“You’re not a Monster, no matter how many times they try to convince you - you’re not.”
He remembered how you tried to protect him.
“If you want him, you’ve to kill me first.”
He remembered how you fought for him...
...and how you lost the fight.
Bucky took a deep breath. He came back to himself. He remembered a part of his past that H.Y.D.R.A. left buried deep. A part that made him turn off the Winter Soldier again and again.
His guilt grew. “I need to go.” He mumbled.
Sam came in his way, “Wait!” he sighed. “Talk to me, Buck.”
Sharon scoffed. “One Weapon wants to find the other. NYX is a Myth all around the world, like the Winter Soldier was.” She winked at him. “She’s as strong as an Army, fast like a cheetah, she knows the most diverse fighting techniques and speaks multiple languages-”
“-Okay and?” Zemo rolled his eyes.
“I was the secret weapon of H.Y.D.R.A. ...or at least I was one of them. She was another. Something about her touched what was left of my humanity. Buried under all that programming.” Bucky touched the back of his neck. “A long time ago, Y/N made me remember what it was to feel human.”
Sam held his head. “She saved us today. Well, saved you but-” he shrug with his shoulders.
“And now she has become a shadow. She works alone, always clean leaving no hints behind. I don’t know how to find her but maybe I can contact some people who might know what her next mission is.”

MADRIPOOR - Next Morning:
Your alarm clock rang but you had been awake and still lying in bed for hours. That you would wake up before your alarm clock was nothing special, but it was unusual that you were lying there instead of going to work immediately.
Your heart beat irregularly, and a slight nausea came over you every now and then. Seeing Bucky again without him recognizing you hit your psyche more than you wanted to admit to yourself.
Your phone rang, a new hint for the super soldier serum.
You sighed. “Ohhh f*ck this.” you put your pillow on your face.
But a mission was a mission. You took the pillow from your face, sat up straight, and took a deep breath. Even before you knew that Bucky was back, the mission was important to you personally and Bucky wouldn't be able to prevent you from destroying the serum - no matter what.
Your cell phone rang again and one of your informants wrote you where you could find the scientist who had recreated the serum. Buccaneer Bay.
You looked at your gun. “Hopefully I won’t need you for him...” You spoke and put on your weapons.
____________________________________
MADRIPOOR -  Buccaneer Bay
Your body was still tense because of Bucky, but it was also he who learned to suppress your own emotions. When you arrived in Buccaneer Bay, your way led you to the top of the container. A better view and you wouldn't be noticed right away.
“With that bounty on your head, the longer you’re in Madripoor the less likely you’re ever leaving.”
You rolled your eyes as you recognized a female voice. “I should’ve known.”
You leaned a little over the container you were standing on and noticed Sharon, Sam Wilson, Zemo and of course Bucky.
The four of them ran through the individual containers and it seemed as if they were looking for the same thing as you. Slowly and silently you went after them until-
Sharon stopped. “-Container four-two-six-one.”
Bucky looked uncomfortable. He looked around in every direction. It was as if you could literally feel that someone was watching him.
“I’ll watch while you guys talk to Nagel.” Sharon handed them some earpods. “But hurry. We’re on borrowed time.”
“What’re you up to?” You asked yourself as you looked at her.
The container door cracked open, you waited until Sharon was far enough away to get to the next container and on to your destination.
The men went in and you heard them open another door inside. You waited 2 minutes, after all, Zemo and Sam were accompanied by the Winter Soldier, who would double-check everything. When you were sure that they were gone you went into the container.
____________________________________
As you followed them you heard how they drew their weapons. That wasn’t your way, while they first thought of pulling out their weapons, you thought of securing the container and waiting until the men thought they had nothing to worry about and were alone with the doctor.
“Doctor Nagel?” You heard Sam.
The doctor turned and went pale in the face. “Who are you? What do you want?”
“We know you created the super-soldier serum.”
You walked slowly into the room and decided to hide yourself first.
Nagel walked past them, “Get out of my lap.” until he noticed Bucky.
“You know who he is right?”
Nagel didn’t dare to move any further than looked deep into Bucky’s eyes and didn’t grimace. Sam grabbed Nagel by his jacket and pushed him at a wall.
“How about a counter proposal?” The Doctor grinned. “Make me a better offer and I talk.”
Bucky's body language spoke for him. He must have heard something, they weren't alone anymore. He pulled his gone and pointed at Nagel. You got nervous, was this Bucky Barnes or was it the Winter Soldier? Whoever he was, nothing should happen to Nagel.
Nagel began to explain how he managed to reproduce and modify the Super-Soldier serum. In your opinion, he was a bit arrogant.
“I was god.” He smiled and you rolled your eyes.
Zemo started walking around, you couldn't tell what he was going to do so you decided to get closer. He found a gun under a desk and went near Sam and Bucky. You heard the container door open again and you were ready to fight, but Sharon stormed in and for a second you couldn't keep an eye on Zemo, a shot went off - Nagel was dead.
You had to act immediately, you came out from behind Sharon and hit her hard on the head, she fell over like a stone. Sam held Zemo tight, his gun fell to the ground. You ran up to Sam, he was so surprised that it was easy for you to ram your elbow in his face and make him fall to the ground too. You pulled out your two guns, one aimed at Zemo and the other at Bucky.
“Y/N?” Bucky sounded confused.
“Its been a long time since I heard that Name,” She sighed. “Did you miss me, Soldier?” You gasped.
“Do you want the serum for yourself, my dear?” Zemo asked hands up.
Bucky shook his head, “She already has it.” He came closer to you.
“Ah-Ah-Ah, don’t make another move. You were still aiming at Bucky. “I need the serums, I’ll destroy them so that no one can ever use it again, can use us like they please.”
Bucky's gaze softened. The whole time he was wondering what had become of you, but even if H.Y.D.R.A. or the KGB wanted to make you monsters, you were one of the monsters who worked for, instead of against, people.
He came closer and even without touching you he could feel how much your heart was beating. But what he didn't know, would you shoot him to get to your goal?
He put his hand on yours with he gun, “Y/N...”
____________________________________
Before you could react to Bucky or even think about your next step, you were hit by a bomb that destroyed half the container and knocked you and the others to the ground.
“Y/N,” Bucky groans.
You heard heard the alarm blaring and glasses clicking, everything was shaking but you seemed unharmed as you could stand up on your own. But your eyes couldn't see that much, everything looked blurry. You could barely stand on your feet.
“Did anyone see Zemo?”
Bucky helped the others up. You shook your head and slowly came to yourself. Bucky came and took your hand when another explosion destroyed the container, you all were lucky and made it out just in time.
“All right! Wait for my signal!” Bucky ordered.
You heard gunfire and placed yourself in front of him to take a shouter out.
“Too slow old man.” You came out from behind the container and started shooting the other shooters. Sharon and Sam followed your example and helped.
“Damn it, Y/N!”
You could hear how one after the other fell to the ground but it seemed to get more and more.
“Hey?!” You looked at Bucky. “Do you remember Budapest?” You yelled.
Bucky did remember Budapest and shook his head. “Its too dangerous!”
Another explosion happened and smoke came up, it was perfect to cover you. You got out of your protection and Bucky ran behind you. You were standing back to back and started shooting around you and taking one by one until there was no one left.
Sam and Sharon were speechless after what they just witnessed. A super soldier and a spy who killed 20 people at once without even blinking. But it wasn't over yet, Madripoor was not known for criminals who would give up so easily.
“Okay come on!” Sharon spoke and you followed her into another container.
“So you two?” Sam started and Bucky and you gave him a death stare. “Okay, okay.” He grinned.
Bucky rammed open the door on the other side of the container and you could hear car tires screeching.
“Supercharged.” Zemo smiled.
“You’re going back to jail.” Sam replied.
“Do you want to find Karli or not?”
Bucky crossed his arms, “He’s right, we need him.” he opened the car door.
“Fine.” Sam clenched his teeth. “But if you try that shit again.” He placed himself on the backseat.
You looked at Bucky and he realized you weren't going to come with him. He took your hand and pulled you closer to himself.
Everything in Bucky demanded to stroke you, kiss you and just feel you but he couldn't even find a word.
“I’ll find you.” You looked into his eyes and smiled soft. “even in the darkest nights.”
He placed a kiss on your forehead. “Don’t do anything stupid.” Then he went inside the car.
You nodded to Sam to show you trusted him to fight by Bucky's side. Then you turned around and walked past Sharon while you rammed her shoulder hard, once around the corner and you were gone.
Bucky put his head in his hands, wondering if he should have stayed with you or persuaded you to come with him. But it didn't seem to be the time for it yet. Sam touched his shoulder to comfort him. Zemo started the car and Bucky felt your gaze on him, he turned around and this time you allowed him to see you.
He knew you’d see each other again, he still hoped for a better reason but the Serum was still out there - and your mission wasn't over yet.

My Masterlist
——————————
“Anyway, can we argue inside at least? (Y/N) promised to call Xavier when we got here.” Peter piped up, trying to shuffle away from his mother at last.
At the sudden sound of your name though, you felt an added bit of nervousness. You also made eye contact with Peter’s mother for the very first time then, as if she’d only just realized you were there.
Peter’s sister Wanda was also looking back at you with question in her face as well at the reveal of your name. But you said nothing yet, just walking up to hand Peter his crutches.
You purposefully busied yourself turning right back around too, getting that jacket he’d stolen on the plane out from the back of the car as well for him. The sunglasses he already had still on top of his head.
So then, the only other things left in the car were the meager amount of clothes you’d bought for yourself. Which you didn’t need right now as you walked back to the others, carrying his jacket. But really pretty unsure yourself if you were even going to be invited inside for long at all.
“Come on, I’ll show you where the phone is,” Peter spoke again though, either oblivious to the increasing awkwardness for everyone else or just ignoring it entirely as he motioned for you to follow him back up the steps and through the still open front door.
—————————
As you were unfolding the little piece of paper with the motel address and phone number from out of your pocket, you tried to concentrate on the task at hand. The corded phone was propped against your shoulder to rest against your ear, you now standing there in the Maximoffs’ small kitchen. But even as you started to dial the numbers, half your attention was still on whatever Peter was now rapidly saying to his family.
“Yeah, (Y/N) goes to that school. You know I just went there to go ask about Dad since they know him. But then there’s this explosion, and I had to pull everybody out. And all the sudden this mutant god is apparently attacking the world and he took Xavier. But then the government shows up like dolts thinking Xavier’s doing it instead. And they take us to question us, but they’ve got some evil experiment shit going on in there too-”
He only took the smallest breath, continuing at that accelerated pace. “And they had that other guy, remember him, Mom? Logan? Anyway, so he breaks out and wrecks the place, so we get out and I get (Y/N), then we find out where Xavier is so we go to get him. We’re in Egypt and we all fight and that god dude breaks my leg. But he’s trying to make Dad help him, but Dad turns on him and-”
“Hello?” You heard someone on the other end of the line finally answer at the motel. You could still hear Peter rattling on excitedly behind you though, your name peppered into his story several more times as you just answered back on the phone.
“Hi, is there a Charles Xavier checked in there? I need to ring his room please.”
There was a long pause where you could only keep standing there, just looking at the kitchen wall and the bit of older panelling that covered it before the phone finally started ringing again.
Peter was now already talking about the aircraft carrier and your stay there by the time you heard the receiver pick up again.
“This is Charles.”
“Hi…hey, it’s me.” You answered with some relief.
You could hear the quick recognition in the Professor’s own voice as you didn’t have to say your name before he gladly responded. “Ah, good. You made it with no trouble then? We checked in here a while ago. I’m in room 104 if you’d need to call back. Are you leaving now to drive back?”
You tried to commit the room number to memory even as you were already replying. “Yeah, it wasn’t a bad drive. We just got here a minute ago. I-”
“Yo, Prof.!” Peter interjected, surprisingly at your side abruptly, also speaking into the phone then. “We’re barely in the door. I was going to show (Y/N) around a bit. That cool? Pretty jet lagged anyway. Probably be safer to crash on the couch tonight and have (Y/N) head your way in the morning, right?”
You blinked, for one thing not even having heard Peter stop talking to his family. But two, he was really saying you should sleep here? Not just joking around anymore? Could he even decide that on his own?
You felt frozen in that moment, not wanting to look back towards the kitchen at all and whatever surprised expressions his mother and sister may now also have on their faces.
The pause on the other end of the line was very noticeable as well before Xavier eventually continued. Peter shimmied even closer to you so he could also put his ear almost against the phone as you turned it slightly for him.
“Peter, I appreciate you looking out for everyone’s best interests and safety,” The Professor answered then, but with that tone which said he clearly doubted that was the speedster’s true or only reasoning. “But I would think that’d be more for your mother to-”
“Mom!” Peter turned his head back, rather loud in your ear as you flinched a little. “Can (Y/N) sleep on the couch? I mean you hate it when Wanda drives late by herself. Same thing right? It’s a long drive back to New York. What self respecting mom is just going to throw anybody’s kid out into the night like that, huh?”
You were tired, yes. It’d already been a very long day of traveling. But you weren’t that helpless. You were pretty sure you’d be fine. This was so weird though. Standing here in silence while someone else bargained for you. Was he really just trying to extend your time together however he could?
“I don’t care, Peter.” You just heard a rather exasperated answer though from Magda after another moment. “You’re going to do whatever you want anyway. Why even ask me anymore?”
The tension from their argument in the driveway clearly remained, or maybe this was how it always was between them? You couldn’t know yet, just caught in the middle it seemed as Peter only took that as good enough, talking back into the phone quickly, “Mom says it’s cool.”
You heard a sigh on the other end, and Xavier replied, “You’re old enough, I don’t have much say myself. But do call me again when you are leaving so we know when you’re back on the road, agreed?”
“Yes.” You said, pulling the phone more back to you then. “I’ll definitely let you know. Please tell the others I’m okay. I’ll see you all soon.”
After that, you and the Professor both told each other goodnight, and that was it. You hung the phone back up, but not yet sure what you’d really gotten yourself into as you glanced back at Peter. Peter who was now outright grinning from ear to ear.
“So…Chuck Norris or Bruce Lee? Movie night?” He asked you.
But what else could you do? You didn’t mind getting the chance at a little more time together of course. You just weren’t sure about how much anyone else actually wanted you here in this house tonight.
——————————
Not long after, whatever deeper discussions still loomed in the air about Peter’s choices of chasing his estranged father straight into a near death experience with a genocidal mutant god appeared shelved. At least for now anyway.
You’d seen Magda grab some sort of drink. Resigning herself to an armchair and the living room television as she seemed to ignore you all then, even as Peter remained almost bubbly while the two of you started down the basement stairs to his room.
You really hadn’t seen where Wanda had gone, but Peter just kept talking. So your focus only returned to him as you both cleared the last step at the bottom of the staircase. You behind him as you carried his crutches, then handing them back to him as you entered the room.
“And voila, man cave de Pietro!” He announced, waving an arm out towards the space.
You weren’t sure why you’d expected something smaller either. Of course most basements sprawled out to take up near the whole bottom footprint of a house. But this was still large to you, and clearly well used.
There were things everywhere. More than just a room obviously. No, this was his life, his hideaway. The more you looked, the more things you saw. Bicycles, guitars, comic books, band posters, all pieces of his hobbies and likes scattered about.
But there was furniture as well. A little table, some chairs, was this always where he ate too? There was a big sectional couch, the cushions indented a little like he may have a favorite spot there.
You didn’t miss the expensive looking television as well, and the VHS player. All the tapes, and the nintendo and the atari, the record player, a stereo, and boxes of games, cassettes, and music records.
And his bed was near in the center of it all, much wider than one person should need and almost right on the ground as he just fell back onto it sending a noticeable wave across the sheets. A waterbed clearly. But you just laughed a little, still a bit amazed. “You really do live here in the true sense of the word don’t you?”
“Hey, I make do. Home sweet home.” He smirked, but also raised an eyebrow at you not long after. “So you didn’t even notice the table back there did you?”
At his words you did look back over your shoulder with a little confusion. But you started to smile as soon as you realized what he was talking about. An air hockey table back around the corner. Some clutter on top of it like it hadn’t been used in a while, but it was clear he remembered your arcade favorites to point it out like he was.
“I figured I’d try to keep that a surprise until now…you know, since our arcade date might be a little postponed for the moment. So uh, surprise?” He said, laying back on his bed as he put his arms behind his head, still watching you.
“I did see the Ms. Pac-Man.” You replied, motioning to the more obvious machine right against the wall. No wonder he’d said he was pretty good at that one.
“Yeah, I used to have Pong too. Wore it out though. And got tired of trying to find parts to fix it.”
“Oh, I could see that happening.” Sure, he probably played everything with a little super speed. Though imagining him somehow ‘shoplifting’ a whole arcade machine whenever he needed another one was a bit interesting. How did that even work?
“So, uh…you want me to put a movie on for real? I was trying to get us out of that kitchen before Mom went off again. But we can do whatever. You know…whatever you want?” He spoke, albeit maybe a little oddly as you glanced to him again.
He almost sounded a touch nervous with those last words? The slight change in tone was enough for you to catch anyway as you did walk over to the bed regardless before sitting down on the edge of it beside him.
But it was strange here, the more you considered everything. It was hard to explain really. Because how many countless times had you sat in your friends’ rooms at the mansion? Guys or girls, just talking or playing games or whatever. Just hanging out as you supposed most all people your age did. But there was never anything weird, never anything uncomfortable.
It could even be late at night sometimes, some of you only half dressed in your sleep shirts or pajamas and no one thought anything about it. Because you just knew back then that no one thought of you as anything but a friend too.
But with Peter…being here now, you were suddenly acutely aware that you were sitting on his bed. In his room, as he seemed to be waiting for some sort of guidance from you as well. Was that why he sounded nervous?
Yet had Crystal ever been here too you wondered. Sitting just where you were sitting now? And why would you think of such a stupid thing in this very moment?
“Hey.” Peter said gently, causing you to look down as you felt his fingers graze your wrist after he moved his arm to reach out.
You smiled a little at the contact, but still felt kind of foolish. There was no point in trying to play it cool though as you confessed the current reason for your own awkwardness at least. “I guess I just didn’t expect to be in anybody’s room like this. It’s not bad, it’s just…”
“Different?” He asked, helping you out a little to your surprise.
“Yeah.” You answered simply. But you could see as another emotion seemed to pass briefly through his expression, furthering your bit of confusion.
Was that guilt on his face?
And he spoke a little abruptly, with that rarer more serious tone emerging even though the words came fairly quick. “You know I was still just giving you a hard time right? I’m cool going as slow as we need. Despite being the fastest dude alive and all, I don’t have to be the fastest guy in bed. That’d royally suck actually. For both of us. So don’t feel like there are some sort of rules here. Like, you do not have to do anything you don’t want to do.”
You blinked, those words not what you were expecting. But it wasn’t bad at all the more you got to consider them. Was he really so worried that you may think he was trying to get something from you here that you weren’t yet ready to give?
Honestly, you didn’t even know yourself what you were ready for though. “Really, it’s okay.” You replied truthfully. “I’m not uncomfortable. I think I’m still in disbelief is all. I never would have thought this is how my summer would start this year. Never in a million years.”
He sat up, smiling again then with his normal tone bouncing back fairly easily. “And I am totally coming over for a pool party, as soon as this damned cast is off. I mean I’m white as shit so people may have to avert their eyes. But we would totally wreck the others in some volleyball or something. I know we would. As long as Jean doesn’t cheat with the telekinesis crap. I could do some whirlpools too you know, knock ‘em off their feet.”
“Sounds safe.” You said, laughing at the image. Maybe living in some random motel for the foreseeable future wouldn’t be so bad after all?
He chuckled in return, but was cut off by another voice just before he started to speak again.
“Knock knock.”
You both looked up toward the stairs as you first saw a pair of black boots coming down them. Black boots, old jeans, and a dark red t-shirt.
Peter called back, straightening up a little more at the sight. “Hey, sis. Fun run out upstairs with Mom and Dynasty on the tube or what?”
“Well, it was an Alexis and Dominique Deveraux battle episode, actually.” Wanda answered a little regretfully.
“Aw, your favorite catfight duo! Why the exit then?” Peter questioned in return.
She gave Peter a slight accusatory look. “Well, you got Mom in a mood and she wanted to talk about my school next. She wanted to and I didn’t. Simple as that.”
“Well…actually I thought you’d still be at your dorm too really. Not that I’m complaining. Haven’t seen you in forever. Your classes get cancelled?” He asked.
“Well, when the metal roof got pulled off the main assembly hall, I think they decided to err on the side of caution.” She responded, rather deadpan.
“Understandable. You think you’ll still go back in the fall?” Peter questioned anyway.
“Don’t know. I haven’t really liked anything about that college yet. But I said I didn’t want to talk about it remember?” Her tone wasn’t cold to him, but still rather final.
He clearly wasn’t as intimidated by her as you were though as he didn’t miss a beat. “Well how about a movie with us? Me and (Y/N) were about to pick something.”
How true that statement was on Peter’s part, you weren’t really sure. But you still said nothing as Wanda just moved to sit on the other edge of the bed, almost as far from you as could be you noted. But Peter still between the both of you as she looked unimpressed. “Can it be something a little less bloody than your usual at least?”
He scoffed, teasing back. “Well I don’t keep your Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie box sets down here you know.”
“Oh shut up.” Wanda retorted, but it was the first time you’d seen her really smirk. Though the siblings were clearly very different, that expression was also a brief resemblance you couldn’t miss.
“Wanda’s a bit of a sitcom connoisseur.” Peter commented for your benefit.
You took the chance to make eye contact with her at that, thinking that might be your in to finally start a real conversation. But she only looked away. If Wanda was unfriendly with strangers period, or actually just disliked you specifically, it was hard to know yet.
“Just pick something.” She finally replied to Peter though. “If I go back through the living room to try to go to my room right now, Mom’s just going to try and start an interrogation again.”
—————————
Hours later
“Hey, you keep moving around. Do you want a pillow?” Peter’s voice drifted from above.
You were pretty disoriented, for one strange moment just staring up at him and clueless to where you even were before your senses returned a little.
The sunlight was gone then. The only real light flickering from the television nearby that was now on some movie you didn’t remember the name of as you sat back up a little on his bed. Was this the third movie he’d put in? You hadn’t lasted very long at all had you?
“I can get on the couch,” You offered, awake enough then to at least remember his mother and sister were still around here somewhere. Though, when had Wanda left? You didn’t see her anymore and you didn’t even know what time it was.
“Seems kind of unnecessary,” Peter replied, in a quieter tone that caught your attention as you paused.
Was he inferring that you should just get under the blankets right here? With him? But sharing the bunk on the aircraft carrier wasn’t the same as being in his literal bed. Here in his family’s home where they already seemed to be rather distant with you at best.
They didn’t know you here. You had to remind yourself of that. They couldn’t know you didn’t spend the night at boys’ houses as habit. You didn’t get in their beds with them upon just meeting. Honestly, you couldn’t even remember the last time you’d slept somewhere besides the now destroyed mansion.
“Peter…” You didn’t know how to convey that concern really. You did want Magda and Wanda to like you eventually if you were being honest. You wanted them to understand. But you wanted Peter to understand too. Even though he’d said he was fine taking things as slow as you wanted, you felt it would still be all too easy to make him feel rejected without meaning to if you weren’t careful.
“I mean, we could both fit on my couch down here too,” He added, so close then that you were sure he was waiting for you to cross the rest of the small distance and kiss him.
And how could staring at each other in the dark, with the muffled sounds of some badly dubbed kung fu movie in the background now be bordering on romantic for you? Somewhere in the back of your mind you did think of all those stereotypical movie scenes all of the sudden. Two young people just in their own world, oblivious to all else.
“I don’t know if I’ve made the best impression on your family yet.” You tried to explain. “If I’m still in this bed with you the next time one of them comes down here…there is no way they’re going to believe we only watched movies and slept tonight.”
He tilted his head a little, yet already smiling. “And you assume they think someone like you would be that physically attracted to someone that looks and acts like me?”
“I do…and I am.” You answered though. Not trying to lead him on, but unable to help yourself either then as you did close that small distance to kiss him. You still disliked anytime he made those comments about somehow being underserving. He was far from it.
The little bit of tension you felt in return told you he was surprised too, but that quickly faded of course as he only pressed into it to kiss you back.
You had no intention of going too far or taking advantage of his family’s allowing you to stay here tonight however. It wouldn’t be right.
But you were still young as well, and it’d be a lie to say it didn’t feel good as he touched your face and your own hand moved onto his chest. It was something too how quickly the heat rose inside you. You could feel the outline of his body through his shirt as your hand trailed down.
He was warm, his abdomen firm against your moving hand. You kissed him harder actually as his own hand moved back behind your neck. But you needed to stop soon, either that or he needed to wear thicker clothing as your hand wandered further.
It was him that surprised you to finally pull back first though. Yet smiling at you again as he kept his face close.
Your breathing had already changed a little as you looked back to him before he glanced down. He raised an eyebrow at your hand now resting on the waistband of his shorts.
Realizing what he was looking at, you pulled your hand away, apologizing reflexively. “Sorry, I wasn’t trying to…” Your mind fumbled a little. Your hand had just been running down. There was no real intent behind it, despite how it looked.
“You’re so funny. Seriously.” He said in that slight tone of amusement though. “Jumping out a plane one day, ready to sacrifice yourself samurai warrior style for your buddies, brave as shit.” He tilted his head, before then enclosing his hand around yours that you’d just pulled back. “But here you get flustered? I’m just a guy, (Y/N). Total nobody. There’s nothing to apologize for. Though I still don’t get it at all. I mean, why you like me like you do.”
“But you admit it then at least?” You tried to counter back, instead of arguing against his very real point that a new relationship could be more intimidating to you than a battlefield. “You admit that I like you. Instead of just telling me I’m making a mistake?”
“Yeah, I mean I guess even I can’t really make up a story of why you’d choose to drive all the way back to New York by yourself instead of bringing one of your friends here with you…unless you really wanted to be one on one with me.” But he just smirked once more, leaning in again to steal a quick additional kiss before pulling back away. “Guess you’re just that nuts.”
“Thanks.” You joked back.
“Takes one to know one.” He answered tauntingly, then sliding off the bed a little awkwardly as he put his feet back on the floor, albeit trying to only put weight on his good leg.
He didn’t have to go far though to reach a nearby closet, pulling a large blanket from it. He wadded it up a little, then tossing it to you. “Since you’re being modest though, you can sleep with Optimus Prime and Megatron tonight. But here, take one of my pillows too.”
In the dark, you couldn’t really make out what was on the blanket. Some sort of characters. You’d just have to take his word on it being Transformers before you caught the pillow that he threw to you next.
“As far as which couch you sleep on, your call. But Wanda always gets up, classic insomniac. I don’t think you want to tempt her with the opportunity to peek into your head if you stay in the living room. She hasn’t met you for real yet and probably still wants the background deets on you.”
“She’s another psychic?” At first you couldn’t remember if he’d already told you that or not. But no, you definitely would have recalled that. Yet maybe this was better? You wouldn’t have to prove anything if she could just see the truth in your mind of how you felt for her brother.
But Peter waved his hand in a ‘so-so’ type gesture. “I don’t think labels really work well with my sister. Yeah, she can get in people’s heads. But she’s not like your friends. She’s her own deal. It’s different. There’s a lot more that she can do. I’m just saying I wouldn’t advise messing with her is all.”
Whatever concerned look you must have given then was enough for him to quickly continue though, “But I’ll work on her the whole time while you’re back in New York. She just doesn’t know you yet. It’ll be fine!”
“Uh huh.” You said, not so confidently. “Guess I’m sleeping on this couch then.”
“A wise choice I think.”
“Of course, you could just be saying all this to get me scared enough to stay down here.”
“Oh, it’s both of course.” He smiled, watching you lay down on the couch even as he got into his bed. “And if you get cold, babe. I’m just a few feet away you know.”
Even from here, you were pretty sure he winked at you as you wrapped yourself up in that blanket he’d given you and stretched out on his couch. “If I go over there, I’m not coming back over here and I know it.”
“Or I could come over there,” he offered, only half jokingly of course.
But you just laid your head on the pillow, knowing you were trying to do the right thing at least. “Not enough room for your leg. You’d be uncomfortable.”
“If you say so, killjoy.”
You only smiled. “Goodnight, Peter.”
“Night, Glo-Worm.” He responded happily.
“Ugh,” You’d hoped he’d forgotten that by now, but apparently not. “Really have to fix that. There’s got to be a better codename for me.”
“Well we can’t all be Quicksilver. Sorry, I called dibs.”
“And we can’t all choose our nicknames out of a department store display case either.” You retorted.
“Ouch. Touché.”
He didn’t tease you anymore after that, but you could still feel his gaze on you as you closed your eyes again not long after. He was close enough that you also felt safe, even here in this new environment.
It was going to be hard to leave tomorrow, that much was certain. But at least you’d also know what you’d have to look forward to as soon as his cast was off again.
Maybe the next time you two fell asleep under the same roof, it’d be in a more neutral territory where you wouldn’t have to worry about his mother or sister’s judgement. Then you could hold him just like you wanted to. And it would be well worth the wait.

hiii I'm the anon that was being curious! well I am a newer fans of Richard if I could be honest with you!
I remember saw him at the marvel san diego comic con panel 2019 during the whole marvel cast being photographed together. do you remember when he walked to the stage? oh when I saw him I freaked out. I even texted my friend saying, "oh this richard madden guy is not so bad himself 👀" as weird as this may sound but I love the way stand. I can not pint point what is it but my eyes glued to him.
look I have watched Cinderella (2015) couple years ago but the only memory that I had from watching it is I couldn't bear seeing the treatment that Cinderella got from her step family despite the whole happy ending. I am not the type to watch movies twice either. although have heard the Cinderella story countless of time since childhood, I just remember being so angry and couldn't care less about the romance lol I think my anger indicated how good the acting was being done by the cast, right?
anyway, I am just like you girl! I was a much bigger fans of henry cavill first. so I merely thought richard was just a good looking fella. oh boy was I wrong!
I decided to watch the bodyguard and I was astounded by his performance! I rarely binge watch tv show/movies but yet I spent 6 hours watching bodyguard non-stop! (oh I was so smitten let me tell you)
after that I did watch his interview, read article about him. I was so disappointed of myself how I just realised what a gentleman and a sweetheart he is! his dedication to his role also wowed me. he is far more than just a good looking actor.
I watched bodyguard just the night before I watched the Eternals. I went to the theatre with my friend, my friend teased me by saying I didn't even blink when I saw Ikaris was on the screen lol. I experienced a lot of my "🎶wildest dream🎶" at that time hahaha and a lot of "goodness me his accent!"
my friend and I was being so noisy about Ikaris that my other friends had to scold us and told us to keep it down hahaha!
and the night after I watched Eternals he appeared on my dream that doesn't help with my new obsession hahah. and here I am now! reading fanfiction about him
oops sorry that was a long one. sorry I got carried away! thank you for reading all the way through <3 (before I end this, he always look so shy when people compliment him ahhh he is the best. and oh boy didn't he handle the thirst tweet well 👀)
Look, there's something so irresistible about brown-haired, blue-eyed guys so I totally get ya! Lucky you for seeing Richard at SDCC! I haven't been on any comic cons yet and if there were some here in Canada, they costs so much and you don't get the big celebrities like Richard :((
Honestly, Richard is so underrated! He acts his heart out and he doesn't get much recognition for it. I was so happy he got a Golden Globes award for his role in Bodyguard and that had paved the way for bigger roles for him! And yes, while I love his work, Bodyguard is my favorite! He just embodies his roles perfectly. The first few minutes of episode 1, I had to pause it because it was so stressful even to me. He brought David Budd to life.
They should remake his thirst tweets! I love how he read them!!

June 18, 1922 Gasoline Alley by Frank King
TOP PANEL [ID: Walt, carrying Skeezix in one arm and a picnic basket in another, stands on a rocky seashore watching the waves roll in to batter the stones around them. Skeezix points out to a clump of rocks in the distance, past several white-crested waves. /end] Walt: Yes, Skeezix! The very place for a picnic!
MAIN COMIC [ID: Walt happily drives his convertible coupe out of town on a dirt road, the top down, Skeezix sitting in the passenger seat. He turns to talk to the baby. /end] Walt: You and I are going on a picnic all by ourselves, Skeezix. I know a nice secluded spot in the woods where we won't see a soul!
[ID: Walt, having parked the car off the road in a grove of trees, sets up a hammock between two solid oak trees. Skeezix stands beside him, crouching to reach for a frog which leaps away. /end] Walt: How's this, ol' dear? A quiet, restful day is just what I need.
[ID: Walt lies back in his hammock and reads the paper while Skeezix sits on the ground picking up acorns and putting them in his mouth. Walt is surprised by a car full of travelers making its way up the road. /end] Walt: Shucks! Miles of woods and this bunch has to camp right next to us!
[ID: A lanky young blonde girl in a frilly white dress walks up to Walt, who turns regretfully from his relaxation. /end] Girl: My fadder wants to know, have you got a corkscrew? Walt: I s'pose I have. I'll see!
[ID: Walt bends over his picnic basket and empties if of its contents while the girl watches. His just-abandoned hammock is being fought over by three of the touring family's young boys. /end] Boy #1: Git out! I got here first! Boy #2: I saw it first! Boy #3: Lemme in! Walt: I put one in to open the olives with. It's right here under the sandwiches somewhere!
[ID: Walt hands the corkscrew to the girl, stands and turns around. The boys scatter away. /end] Boy #1: Jiggers! Walt: ?
[ID: Walt storms up to one of the boys, standing beside Skeezix with a slingshot in his hands. Skeezix sits in the grass beside him, holding a dandelion. In the foreground, a tree with mushrooms growing out of the trunk dominates the composition. /end] Walt: Hey, what are you doing? Teaching Skeezix to shoot birds with a sling-shot? You ought to be ashamed!
[ID: Walt carries Skeezix over his shoulder as he frantically runs off to his car. The boys have found it, piled in the cab and released the brake. It's rolling downhill backwards towards a creek. /end] Walt: Great jumpin' grasshopper! They've released the brake and the car's rolling down hill!
[ID: The car eases to a halt in the soft moss beside the creek. Walt, Skeezix under his arm, inspects it for damage. In the background, the boys break his hammock and fall to the ground in it. /end] Walt: Well, she just eased down into the soft ground and didn't do any harm. But gosh! They might have wrecked her!
[ID: Walt storms angrily up to the patriarch of the touring family and gestures toward his wrecked hammock. The father puts his hands over his gut and laughs heartily. Skeezix bends over behind Walt to look at the dandelions. /end] Walt: Those boys of yours got into my hammock and broke it down! Father: Haw haw haw! That's all right! Good enough for 'em!
[ID: Walt storms away from him, hands up in the air in flustered frustration. /end] Walt: And that's all the satisfaction you get! It's a pity some people wouldn't pay a little attention to their kids!
[ID: Walt panicks over to Skeezix, who's currently overturning everything in the picnic basket and spilling it onto the grass. /end] Walt: SKEEZIX!

RWBY vs Comic
Alright, I said I was gonna do this back when the comic first started getting published but I got so frustrated reading it that I couldn’t actually keep up with it enough go through with it. I think I stopped around issue 4 because that was when I just got angry and threw my comic back into the plastic. I figure now’s as good a time as any since I’m actually rereading it now. My whole issue with the RWBY DC comics is that they’re super canon divergent but somehow still canon material. It’s so frustrating that this is the case because we’re supposed to take into account things that happen in the comic as gospel- things like Adam revealing he’d always been genocidal, Bumbleby’s bottlecap, Weiss’ zoo animal arc, etc, but a lot of these different story arcs don’t make sense in our current canon. So I’m gonna talk about them because why not.
 Issue #1:
The first issue actually isn’t that bad- mostly because it’s just an intro to the series- but there are still some huge inconsistencies between the comic and official canon.
Tumblr media
These two panels are a fucking mess.
1) Ruby was passed out when she was delivered to Patch by Qrow. She’d just used her Silver Eyed Warrior powers for the first time, hurt Cinder, frozen the dragon, and passed out. We were literally forced to listen as Qrow carried Ruby out of the rubble and back home, because she was unconscious. But the comic has her just arriving back home all on her own. “I came back to my dad’s house.” No you didn’t, you literally woke up in your bed after what must’ve been days of being unconscious.
2) We know Blake didn’t get to Menagerie on a little wooden boat. We all watched the episode. It was a decent sized ship with multiple crew members, dozens of passengers, and literal armaments designed to destroy Grimm. Sun can’t hide in a robe for 3+ days on this boat. This boat wouldn’t have survived a Grimm attack in the first place. Idk why they decided to draw this boat instead of just drawing the Pride the way it was designed in the first place, but whatever I guess.
Tumblr media
RNJR didn’t tell Taiyang they were leaving. Ruby and her team just left. There was a whole scene dedicated to showing the shock and horror on Tai’s face as he saw Ruby’s letter and ran out of the house hoping to catch up to his daughter before she left. Also not as important but still relevant, RNJR left during winter. There was snow on the ground. I don’t see no snow in this panel- that tree looks real green. That last issue is mostly a nitpick- who cares what season they left in tbh. But the fact that they just wrote this panel into the comic despite the fact canon shows Taiyang had no idea of Ruby’s departure- and the fact that Ruby’s departure is actually really important to a bunch of later scenes in this show is really fucking weird.
Issue #2:
Tumblr media
I know we know next to nothing about Raven Branwen, but holy fucking shit do I wanna believe this is ridiculously out of character for her. You’re telling me that Raven actually did come visit Yang and Tai and Ruby, but the one time she ever made her presence known to any of them was to berate and terrify Ruby the one time she’d learned anything about Summer?! Like BRO. This is so fucked up! This is too fucked up! This is straight early 90′s level villainy right here. What was even the point behind this?! This scene tells us that she felt so negatively about Summer Rose that she was willing to break her silent cover just to disillusion Ruby for no other reason than to tell her she was weak. Which makes no fucking sense because when we finally meet her during season 5 Raven has nothing bad to say about Summer at all! What did Qrow say to her after they spoke? “Hey sis why the fuck are you flying around your ex’s home scaring his daughter who just lost her mother? You realize you’re talking shit about the woman who raised your child too right?” Like, this is so wildly terrible, that if we’re meant to take this into account, I don’t see how anyone who reads these comics could say anything positive about Raven ever again. This is strike one, two and three for her entire characterization.
Issue #4:
Tumblr media
I’ve said it already but fuck this boat.
Tumblr media
Not so much an issue with the comic as it is with RoosterTeeth’s sometimes sloppy storytelling, but we really need an exact age on Adam. Is this man a pedophile? We know Blake is about twelve here, meanwhile- besides looking maybe a little scrawnier- Adam looks the same as he did during the show. How old is this kid right here? Fifteen? Seventeen? Was he 20 during the events of volume 1? Was he 25? I really dislike this specific problem RT has created because at no point during canon were we led to believe that Adam was significantly older than Blake or our other characters, but here in the comic we’re getting huge pedo vibes. Idk if this was RoosterTeeth retroactively trying to throw Adam’s character even further into question but... Idk man, RT y’all need to hurry up and carbon date this kid because I’m really not liking this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m not gonna harp on the whole “Adam as a revolutionary vs Adam as a genocidal maniac” issue again. Most of y’all already know where I stand on this and have either made up your minds that either, yes, Adam’s sudden change towards being genocidal after being forcibly conscripted by Cinder doesn’t make much sense, or, no, Adam’s behavior is entirely in line with what little we’d seen of him up to that point in the story. I’m not trying to change anyone’s opinions on this issue, I’ve got about a dozen other posts for that. My issue with these panels specifically is that this is the moment Blake discovers Adam is genocidal. This is the moment Blake realizes that Adam never wanted peace, never wanted coexistence, never wanted what the White Fang actually wanted in the first place. He wanted Faunus supremacy- a goal entirely removed from the White Fang’s goal of equality between Faunus and humans. This is the moment Blake realizes that his ideology is so far from what it is she herself wants. If this is correct, why does Blake never mention this AT ALL when she’s talking about Adam. When the conversation comes up during season 3, she specifically states that Adam’s change was gradual. Not that he’d been hiding who he really was from her but that he’d become a completely different person from the man she’d originally known. I recognize that a lot of people say that this could be explained away as evidence of Blake’s abuse- oftentimes abusers don’t even realize just how monstrous their abusers are, even after they’ve escaped from said abuse. But this is just such a monumentally larger issue than manipulation and abuse. Adam is outright saying that he wants genocide! He’s not trying to hide it, he’s not trying to lie, he’s not trying to manipulate her! He’s telling her explicitly that he wishes he could kill as many humans as possible. But during the Black Trailer she’s still asking Adam about the crew members as if they hadn’t had this conversation hours ago! During season 2 she’s drawing him in her notebook as if she misses him! During season 3 she’s explaining that he’s simply misguided! This is apologia of the umpteenth level that is absolutely inexcusable. If I’m honestly supposed to be made to believe that Blake knew Adam was genocidal from before the events of the Black trailer and season 1 but still had feelings for him... I’m sorry but I’ve lost any and all respect for her entire character. You can’t have feelings for someone who’s genocidal- who you know is genocidal- and expect sympathy. No amount of abuse would forgive someone for having feelings for Hitler.
Tumblr media
I recognize the comics aren’t supposed to be a shot for shot recreation of the show, but what the fuck is this panel? The frame of Adam dismembering Yang was such a good, amazing, impactful frame. The black and red framing, the yellow of Yang’s hair and weapons, the red of Adam’s sword. Why would you not even try to recreate that?
Tumblr media
Leaving nitpicks for the end, really wish they hadn’t used “sunflower” here. That’s Yang/Ren. But again, the comic is made by people who aren’t in the fndm and don’t interact with the RWBY community at large in the first place, so of course they wouldn’t know.
Issue #5:
Tumblr media
Why does Blake seem so ooc here. Like, the fact that she’s trying to make Weiss feel guilty for “cheating” in a “win by any means necessary” free for all match is really??? Weird??? When we know Blake isn’t above using underhanded tricks herself considering what she did to Reese during the tournament and her Semblance in general??? But whatever, that’s mostly a nitpick as well.
Issue #7:
Tumblr media
My issue with this story is that it ends with Yang like, wistfully thinking of spending more time with Blake. But this is before she even put the prosthetic on. This is before she even got to talk with Weiss after meeting up with Raven. This is so early on in her healing process that I find it extremely difficult to believe that Yang is fondly remembering any time she spent with Blake. When Ruby talks to her during 3.12, she was angry that Blake had left her! Abandoned her! And then in the conversation she has with Weiss that happens after this event in the comic she’s still frustrated with Blake for leaving. So like... did she suddenly forgive Blake just a few weeks into her recovery and then relapse back into feeling like she’d abandoned her? Wtf is this?
Issue #9:
Tumblr media
I know she’s obviously supposed to be drunk here, and we barely got to know her during the short scenes she had, but like... she never struck me as this kind of person. To literally forget how old her daughter is? Like...???? The same woman who was so perceptive she was able to recognize that Whitley was acting out because he’d felt lonely and abandoned by his sisters? Doesn’t know how old one of her children is? This is silly.
Tumblr media
This isn’t the same woman we met during season 7. This isn’t the same quick witted woman who immediately directed Weiss to the cameras she’d hidden around the house when it was time to spring the trap on Jacques. This isn’t the same woman who was so honest when she admitted to her own faults just a few short months after this scene supposedly took place. You could argue that the events of this comic are what led Willow to become the person we meet later on, but like... That’s an absolutely ridiculous amount of offscreen growth you’re expecting me to just assume has happened. These aren’t the same people. This is ridiculous.
Issue #12:
Tumblr media
This seems so ooc for Sun. Why is he literally begging her to run away and not face a problem when his entire relationship with Blake up to and past this point is him teaching Blake to love herself enough to face her problems head-on in the first place? This is so weird and gross imo because it just feels like they’re warping Sun’s character to make it look like Yang is the only good influence in her life when that’s simply not the case. Every conversation Sun has with Blake from season 1 to season 6 is him telling her that she deserves happiness, love, and to forgive herself. There are multiple songs about this aspect of their relationship! Sun has helped Blake grow just as much as Yang has. Why is Sun taking this approach to manipulate Blake into staying silent about something that’s bothering her? On top of that, Sun’s never been the brightest banana of the bunch anyway, why the FUCK is he smart enough here to recognize that if Blake tells the truth and makes those people feel bad, that they’d draw more Grimm? He’s never been this intuitive before. It really feels like they made him smarter than he normally is just to make him scummier than he’s ever been so that we could feel that Blake’s relationship with Sun is less than her relationship with Yang. Awful writing and characterization from the RWBY DC team here
Issue #13:
Tumblr media
This is so wrong and despicable and manipulative and terrible. Again, this isn’t the same woman we met in the show.
Tumblr media
Willow never made excuses for herself or her actions like this. Not once during the entire time she was on screen did she do anything like this. She knew she wasn’t a great mother and she took full responsibility for her actions- and inaction- I don’t know WHY she’s trying to excuse herself here. This is more Cruella De Ville than it is Willow Schnee.
Tumblr media
I’m not gonna explain how lumping this “prized menagerie” story with “Faunus slave labor” story together is godawful but just recognize that it’s Black History Month and this plot point they decided to write in is not MLK approved.
Anyway, that’s the whole RWBY DC run. All in all it wasn’t the worst adaptation of an established series, but goddamn. I’d rank this up there with Eragon or Percy Jackson or the end of the Soul Eater anime or something. This is such a slap in the face by people who obviously only ever skimmed through the show for the explicit purpose of writing this series that I’ve read fancomics and fanfiction that handle canon better than this. It’s really frustrating too because this comic run is like, beloved by certain people in the fndm who are only in this for the ships, and people who refuse to see anything wrong with this series ever. The healthy servings of Bumbleby and crumbs of Monochrome and White Rose are apparently enough to make people go “fuck all the inconsistencies, this comic is great.” Cannot express how much these people make me wanna slam my head into a wall.
I did this just to highlight all the issues I have with the run, but I’m sure other people have other issues with this comic than I do. Have fun in the comments I guess.

DBD SURVIVOR OC: GEO RODRIGUEZ
OVERVIEW
ROLE: Undeterred Smartmouth
GENDER: Non-Binary
NATIONALITY: Guatemalan-American
Geo Rodriguez is a self-taught comic artist, they push through life with unwavering determination. They’ve always found comfort in the world of superheroes and try their best to bring that same energy even during the darkest of times.
Their perks Splash Page, Grin and Bear It, and Punchline make them a persistent and durable distraction able to get the drop on Killers before they do on them.
LORE
Bored with the iron-fisted religiousness in their household and disillusioned by the relentless bullying at school, Geo immersed themself within comic book pages and Saturday morning cartoons. They particularly enjoyed superhero tales, taking their ideals of hope and perseverance to heart as they stumbled through their adolescence. When their short-lived career as a medical assistant crashed and burned-- not that they really ever wanted that by choice-- they decided to follow the path they’ve always been afraid to, creating comics. Their web comic grew slowly, but surely; however, Geo struggles with self-perception, anxiety, and deep seated anger got the best of them. Through the night’s fog, a driver passing by caught sight of their figure stepping off the edge of a bridge, but no one ever heard a splash from the waters below. When a body was never recovered, most could only assume it had been washed away...
The regret was immediate. Before Geo had leaned too far from the railing, they twisted around and held on for dear life. The Fog twisted around them and instead of their legs kicking empty air, they struck solid ground. They weren’t at the bridge anymore. Geo saw a campfire flicker in the distance and the silhouettes of people huddled around it.
That night at the bridge had taught Geo something, life was worth fighting for, and fight they do. Through the shock and fear of the impossible having come to life in a never ending nightmare, Geo keeps their head held high, chest puffed out, and grinning the grin that made them root for the hero when all seemed lost.
GEO’S PERKS
Splash Page: A high-risk escape right out of a comic book panel.
When unhooking yourself or another Survivor within 10/20/30 meters of a Killer, you and the unhooked Survivor are granted the Haste effect for 3/5/7 seconds.
“Close one, huh? Let’s get back to the campfire, this gave me a wicked sketch idea.” - Geo Rodriguez
Grin and Bear It: Your determination gets you through trying times.
Any damage that would have put the Survivor in the Dying State will instead trigger the Deep Wound status effect. Grunts of Pain are reduced by 50/75/100% percent when in the Injured State.
While in the Deep Wound effect, the Survivor has 20 seconds to Mend themselves.
Taking any damage while under the effect of Deep Wound or if its timer runs out will put the Survivor into the Dying State.
“I wanna be like the good guys, y’know? They got the crap kicked out of them, but they still got this shit-eating grin. Badass.” - Geo Rodriguez
Punchline: It’s all about the set up and knowing when to get your jabs in.
After each 20/15/10 seconds within a Killer’s Terror Radius, gain 1 Token for the maximum of 1/2/3 Tokens, consume the token to activate any of the following:
Increased Pallet Stun duration
After a difficult skill check, Stun a killer when being carried
Once the tokens are consumed, Punchline has a cool down of 30/20/10 seconds before reactivating.
Increases chances of being the Obsession
“You’re gonna have to do better than that, Shit-for-Brains!” - Geo Rodriguez
TRIVIA
Geo appears in the Realms little after Ace Visconti
While they largely go by they/them, they’re not opposed to being referred to as she/her
They have a whopping grand total of a single brain cell to their name and is hellbent on using it to be the biggest pain in the ass a Killer has the misfortune to meet

Dream a Little Dream of Me Pt. 6
Hi, so I’m just gonna leave this here and pretend it didn’t take me for fucking ever to get this done. Also like real talk, my classes are starting up soon and I’m working multiple jobs so updates from here on out might get a little sparse. I AM BY NO MEANS GOING TO STOP WRITING IT. Just like, it’s gonna take me awhile or the chapters might be shorter, who knows (not me). Anyway, I hope you enjoy this shit show and if you have any theories about where the hell this is going or critiques or just general explicit thoughts about Kylo please hit me up! I love you all, I hope you’re staying safe and healthy <3333

He was looking at you.
Really looking at you.
Hadn’t until now.
But that wasn’t completely true. Of course he’d looked at you—noticed you, heard all the dagger sharp curses you threw his way like a child put in the corner impertinent and prideful and intoxicating in a way that pain often is. So, yes of course he’d looked, but you hadn’t been important.
And that was not to say that you were important now, just that—
Just that the sea was churning behind him, crashing against the shoreline and the Force was stirring. It was a wild thing, and sung like the insects hiding in the nearby treeline. He could feel the pull of it, like a chain that swung in the small space between your bodies. Connecting your throats—growing every shorter—rubbing him raw and bloody.
It was in you, whatever it was that tethered him like a boat to the harbor.
He was inside you too
“No one will ever feel like I do.”
That’s what you’d said.
You were right, as much as he was loath to admit it, no one had ever felt the way you did clenching around him.
There was something primal that made him ravenous to pour himself into you. He was always too much too full to angryangryangry every waking second. Now, finally, it all had some place to go. Some well to fill—a space for all his extra self to belong.
For once, he found there was nothing more than the sound of the sea inside his head.
He wasn’t entirely sure what to do with that revelation.
Who were you? What were you hiding and where was it buried?
Kylo needed to know and you were there, already limp and pliant with no jumbled slur of raging thoughts to cloud his path.
He found that slipping into your mind was one of the easiest things he’d ever done, like following the current of flowing water. Drifting in as if carried by the waves.
Flashes of memories rushed past him, mostly just amalgamations of indecipherable emotion—fathoms of pent up aggression Kylo was forced to wade through in order to reach the black depths of your head. At every turn he was met with his own face staring back at him.
He saw his saber, swinging in a red arch into durasteel paneling, saw himself through your eyes. Felt your awe, felt the stirring in your chest at the sight. He pushed on.
Past shots of offices he’d never seen, a barrage of falsely smiling faces, teeth gnashing, always hungry. He was walking down an endless grey hallway lined with First Order uniforms all towering over him—you—looking down, casting judgement like arrows in his back. Frustration morphed and twisted into a thick sludge of resentment that bubbled and clung to his feet.
With every pop a voice escaped, shouting “everything, everything, everything” in a sick, distorted roar.
And then he found it, the source of the muck that caked his path. A pit, deep and black as pitch that spit up it’s roiling contents and dragged him tumbling down, down, down.
He could barely make it out at first, but as he fell the dim red glow grew bright, crackling and electric and throwing sparks. At the bottom of the well the light bloomed like a pyre, some flaming effigy of pure potential. The heat of it licked at his skin, tracing the edges of every scar like it knew them.
Maybe it did.
Something like a shockwave rolled out through the Force, and he backed away from the raging flames. Back, back, back until he was kneeling again on the shoreline, your cooling body still pressed firmly to his chest.
The feeling of your weight, not cold and dead, but with life still in your limbs was alien to him. Kylo battled internally with the instinct to throw you off him to the ground. He could leave you here, go and wait or never come back at all.
It would be easy.
He could see it now:
Your face twisted, lips pulled back and teeth bared like you weren’t half his size. Like he couldn’t snap your neck with a wave of his hand. He imagined you naked, covered in dried blood and bruises bursting onto your balcony, tits on full display and your finger in his chest, vitriol spewing from your mouth.
It was comical really, how you puffed up like an animal threatened, small but vicious.
Yet even as he considered the scene, his aching knees were unlocking and shifting you, soft cock slipping out in a gush of your combined releases. Kylo swung your legs easily over one arm and climbed back up the beach towards your room.
The sun was starting to rise over the sea, casting gilded strips along its surface when he laid your limp form on the bed. Your skin was marbled with the evidence of your coupling and shone in the light.
Kylo stood silently above you, the ocean breeze occasionally ruffling his damp hair as he brought a hesitant hand to his jaw. The skin was swollen from when you’d raised your hand to him. His fingers dug into the bruise, and the stinging ache of it made his cock twitch. Your face, twisted and snarling and so defiant, so foolish, inches from his before your palm cracked across his cheek.
He dropped a hand down, stroking his half hard length and remembering how your thighs felt crushing his ribcage between them. His hips twitched up into his hand in slow, languid thrusts, precum and your residual slick easing the slide of his palm.
You weren’t afraid to fight back.
Kylo’s teeth tore at his bottom lip as he pumped his cock in earnest now.
You weren’t afraid of him , he realized. But you should be.
Especially now with how his mind was supplying all the numerous ways he could beat you into submission—fuck you into submission. God he’d love to watch you crack, it would truly be a feat worthy of celebration to break the will of a creature such as yourself.
But he couldn’t deny—certainly not while he’s jerking himself faster thinking of how delicious your wet cunt felt around him—that he liked when you bit back.
His name rolling off your tongue was ricocheting around in his brain and he was sure it was the most erotic thing he’d ever heard in his life, that he would never get enough of it. He’d known that since the very first time he heard it, when you opened yourself up to him and came in his mouth, on his fingers.
A familiar warmth was building in his stomach as he thought of all the ways he could make you say it again. Thought of dipping into your head and erasing everything else but that. So it was the only word you knew.
That sent him, made him spill over his hand, white ropes of his cum painting your breasts. You looked good like that, he thought as he worked himself through his orgasm, breath rasping in his chest.
When he was well and truly spent, he let his overstimulated cock settle back against his thigh and dropped a hand to your chest. His palm spanned nearly the entire width of you, fingers swirling in the mess of his release and rubbing it into your abused skin until you were perfectly glazed in him. The sheen of it glinted in the light, a reminder that you’d been marked and would never know how completely he coated every inch of your body.
Even as the darkness whispered into his mind that this was potential, this was uncharted, this was the dragon that hid in the corners of ancient maps filled with unknown stars, Kylo didn’t tear his eyes away. Didn’t pull his hand from your breast where his fingers dug into the flesh and made their home.
Not until the sun had fully risen and you began to stir from the Force induced sleep he’d buried you under.
Not until the very last moment.
***
You woke to the sound of rushing water. It was dim though, out of focus like an echo nearly faded away. Your eyes were lead in your skull, struggling against opening to the soft light filtering into—
Well into where you weren’t exactly sure.
Thoughts were elusive and seemed to slip from your grasp or sit constantly out of reach. Details stood blurry behind a layer of foggy confusion. It was as if your brain had been frozen and restarted like one of the old monitors on the Bridge, leaving important documents to close improperly. You pushed incessantly against the film that seemed to separate you from full awareness until, finally, it popped and the world came flooding in.
Light, bright and all encompassing was stinging your eyes through the open balcony doors. The smell of salt and sand and sweat was everywhere. You were laying on your bed, the spot next to you cold and vacant—never occupied. Your chest and bare thighs were sticky as you peeled them apart and tried to sit up, feeling the uncomfortable squelch of something leaking from you onto the sheets.
And then you ached.
The deep kind of pain that extends past your muscles and sent nerves misfiring with every movement. There was not a single inch of you free from the pulsating burn of it. You laid out flat on the mattress, moving your head as slowly as possible to take stock of the damages. Bruises littered you, mottled you in painful stripes. With every new mark catalogued another memory drifted to the surface:
Hips, his hands surrounding your waist to lift you clear off the ground, his cock slipping ever deeper inside.
Breasts, where the Force and his fingers had cupped and palmed and rolled pleasure into your flesh.
Chest, his bitten nails that scratched large welts which stung when you breathed in.
Legs, how he’d ripped you through the churning water and pressed deep into the meat of your thighs.
Neck, you could feel the dull throb of where he’d bitten into the skin, sucked hard and marked you with a small supernova of broken capillaries.
But the sting between your legs topped the rest. He truly had split you in half, his cock massive and leaving you clenching to your very core in its absence. His cum still dripped out of you in a slow stream. If this was the recompense you bore, there was no telling what he must look like.
You recalled the sole of your foot connecting with muscle and bone, the crack of your palm on his sculpted cheeks.
The way his mouth tasted, the fullness of his lips and how warm he was pressed against you with no space in between. The desperation for him, the sweet sting of him moving inside you, sinking into you, the fullness, the absolution. The presence of him not just in your body but in your mind, in your being, the relief of it—like the first breath after years of asphyxiation.
You could feel him still, you realized, a tingle at the back of your neck. A soft, comforting thump when you closed your eyes. Like a heartbeat. Kylo Ren’s heartbeat, faint but present, evidence of mortal flesh and blood. Your head on his chest, his voice a hush under the roaring sea.
“You aren’t going to die.”
It felt like a promise, and maybe it was.
But really, how long could you expect him to keep it?
And that was just the first of many questions. So many questions.
The sound of water was not the ocean, but the shower you realized and it filled the room with a hazy steam from the crack in the door. You thought about joining him for just a second, indulged in the idea of seeing him bare. Seeing the wounds he bore, the ones he let you put there.
But there was no time for that now, unfortunate though it was.
Instead, you tumbled out of bed onto shaky knees that nearly gave way as you looked around for something to cover yourself with, grabbing the first piece of clothing available. It was Kylo’s, you noticed as you tugged the massive black shirt over your head and watched it fall well past your thighs.
It smelled like him. You tried not to think about it too much.
You sifted through the mess of clothing on the floor and finally located your bag and datapad, tripping over yourself to crawl back onto the mattress. New messages flashed on the screen, although strangely none originating from the First Order. Each one another of Gahl’s staff asking you for speech revisions to be approved by the advisory committee and the last one a reminder of the day’s worth of meetings with campaign staff.
You shuddered at the thought. It wasn’t really the meetings themselves that bothered you, that was routine, muscle memory at this point. But it was harder now, harder to sit still and spit out pretty fake chuckles to every pompous politician's horrid sense of humor, harder to slip in silent ultimatums when there was a knife positioned squarely at your back. When you could never truly tell who would be the one to twist the blade or at what point you would have outlasted your usefulness.
At what point it was your turn to become the next example of what pride does to the body.
No amount of whispered half covenants would be able to stop that, regardless of which masked, saber-wielding commander they came from.
Sighing, you tried to quell the constriction in your throat and typed away quick, formulaic responses. A few minutes passed until you heard the shower putter out and the soft sounds of the Commander dressing. He didn’t look at you when he pulled the door open and stepped into the room, shirtless this time and sporting a dark purple starburst that dipped below the waistband of his pants and circled over the ‘v’ of his hips.
You tensed at the memory of your bodies twisting in the surf and glanced away as he silently dug through his discarded clothes.
“That looks like it hurts,” you said, just to break the uncomfortable quiet.
Kylo regarded you in your seat by the headboard, eyes narrowing just a bit when he straightened and crossed the room. He stood by your side, taking the hem of his shirt between his fingers for just a second.
You felt him hum in your head, not nearly as loud as it was the night before, but still there—a pleasant weight in your chest. He liked the look of you drowning in his clothes. Liked the way you disappeared into them. Liked the reminder of how you fit well in the space he left behind. Felt his hand rip away like it had been burned.
“It doesn’t,” he said and turned his back to you.
As if you could hurt him.
You felt yourself flush at his response, electing to simply watch as he plucked another top from one of the piles and tugged it over his head. You lamented silently at the loss, earning you a sharp glare from the man in question. Well, at least he was giving you some indication now that he heard you.
“Yes,” he sighed, lowering himself onto the edge of the bed. “You’re incredibly loud.”
Crossing your legs, you sat the datapad aside and leaned back against the headboard.
“Oh, well my apologies,” you rolled your eyes, “I’m not exactly familiar with how this works.”
He scoffed at your hand gesturing between the two of you, “I’m well aware.”
“Is being as aggravating as possible a personal goal of yours or something?”
Kylo’s hand shot out, grabbing your ankle and yanking you down the bed. Before you had the chance to register the stab of pain that accompanied the sudden movement, you were situated firmly on his lap, thighs spread uncomfortably on either side of his hips.
“Is being a defiant little brat one of yours?” he retorted, one hand gripping hard on your jaw.
You tensed your legs against the searing ache and dug one of your knees into the bruise on his side, “Only for you, sir.”
The hand on your jaw slipped down to wrap around your throat, clamping down on the vein there and you felt the surge of blood that rushed to his dick at the memory those words elicited. He liked them in your mouth, he couldn’t hide that anymore and it frustrated him, enraged him that you smiled at the thought. Stars, you supposed if you kept mouthing off like that Atreus would have to speed things up before Ren killed you for him.
Kylo’s fingers twitched around your neck, eyes flicking to the mark he’d left on the joining of your throat and shoulder which had slipped entirely from his shirt. He seemed to be debating with himself before dropping his head and sucking the abused skin back into his mouth.
Your fingers slipped instinctively into his hair. Whether you were trying to yank him off or push him closer, you weren’t sure but then his jagged teeth sunk into the worried flesh and you whined like something wild at the display of dominance and acknowledgment that last night had been more than just another dream.
When Kylo finished with you, he stayed soothing cool mint breaths into the sensitive skin under his lips. You wanted to ask him what it meant—the mark, the beach, the newly filled to the brim, shaking in your fingers feeling blooming into existence in the intercostal spaces of your ribs—but you knew he’d never answer that.
Luckily, the waiting game was your specialty. There was no one better than you at playing the long con. He’d crack eventually, they always did. So you hid your ace and plaid something a bit safer.
“How did I find you in the hall last night?”
The Commander huffed against you, lifting his head to nip sharply at your earlobe.
“Projecting,” he conceded.
“What does that mean?”
His hands drifted to your hips, digging in and forcing you off his lap and onto the floor. The wood dug into your knees and pressed valleys into the skin. Kylo motioned with a hand and his boots obediently floated over and settled in front of you kneeling between his legs. You frowned as he stared down at you blankly and his command dawned on you.
“Really?” you asked, unable to keep the incredulity off of your tongue.
He lifted his brows and rolled his lips together, and you found yourself understanding with terrifying clarity what that meant. If you were going to play games so would he, and Kylo’s preferred method always seemed to be humiliation in some form.
Jokes on him, you thought with a shrug. You had very little dignity left to be squashed under his boots which you ripped from the air by your head. His feet were massive, nearly the size of your thigh as you slipped one into the rough leather.
“Consciousness can be detached from the physical body,” Kylo explained.
His voice lacked any of its usual rasp or vitriol, he was simply saying the words, not forcing them out. You thought he’d make a good teacher if he wasn’t such an—
The boot in your lap ground down harshly into the especially sore spot between your thighs covered only by his thin black shirt. Your cunt ached as he pressed the toe of his boot into your clit. Gritting your teeth against the pain, you kept your mouth shut and nodded for him to continue, pulling taught all the laces from his ankle to calf. The muscles were impossibly hard under your fingers
“The Force can allow you to take advantage of that separation,” he continued, swapping feet when you’d finished the first, “so physically you remained here, and your consciousness was able to project elsewhere.”
Your hands guided his foot past the leather straps and hastened through the last few laces. When the last was tied off, you tried to knock his leg to the side, but he pressed it back between your legs, smearing you with rocky earth and grinding his heel once more on your slit.
“So everything we overheard then, that was real?” you continued, voice strained as you squirmed out of his reach. Shockingly, he let you.
Kylo shrugged examining your slick stain on the leather, “Projection involves a real place and time. Dreams are more abstract.”
You nodded, pulling the fabric tighter around your knees.
“What did he mean?” you asked quietly.
You were pushing your luck, pushing his buttons really but he should be expecting that by now. He owed you this, reparations for months of workplace abuse.
Kylo stared at you, his erection still obscenely on display from your view on the floor.
“Atreus, he said I was ‘in your head,’” you elaborated and Kylo nearly kicked your teeth in with how quickly he stood.
“That’s enough,” he grunted.
You watched on the ground as he walked out onto the balcony. The wind combed through the black waves on his head revealing whitecaps of pale, freckled profile to peek out. You decided to quit while you were ahead, letting him stew. This was the most he’d ever spoken to you in the years you’d worked as his one-woman political clean up crew. Maybe you’d celebrate when there wasn’t a hit out on you.
Stretching out, your eyes caught his mask staring at you dead and resolute from the small night stand. It was heavier than you expected, lined with deep ridges and scars just like the man who wore it.
Head wounds were almost always fatal. Just one blow to the soft flesh of the temple and that was it, end of discussion. They taught you that at the academy. Always aim for the head. You traced the cracks on its carbon black surface and tried to imagine all the people who’d aimed for the Commander’s head, aimed to land the killing blow and failed. You thought of his toothpaste sitting in the vanity in the bathroom. You thought of the bruises on his chest and the blood that had pooled under his pretty skin to cause them. You thought of Kylo Ren dying.
You put the helmet down, pulled yourself off the floor and left Ren to his thoughts.
The bathroom was still thick with steam when you started the shower running. You stripped his shirt from your back and folded it on the sink before stepping in. The hot water felt glorious as it pounded the soreness from your skin. Your fingers brushed carefully over the abstract painting of bruises, the mark on your neck particularly stark in your hazy reflection in the wall of mirrors facing the shower.
You should have expected the Commander would enjoy marking his territory.
Not that you were in any way his territory.
The idea of it certainly didn’t cause a shiver to run down your spine.
When you’d washed the silt and grime down the drain and dried yourself, you left the bathroom and dressed quietly. Your outfit was professional and understated, not drawing the eye and covering last nights events without being suspiciously modest. Kylo didn’t move or speak until you drifted out to the balcony to commune before your meetings began. You leaned against the rail next to him.
“Do you know anything about him?” you asked, gazing out at the waves as the rose and crashed and rose again.
“No,” he responded, and you were thankful you didn’t have to say the name.
It felt greasy in your mouth.
“Right,” your eyes closed against the salty wind, “well I suppose I’ll do some digging then. Know thy enemy and all that.”
He glanced at you, a full once over and nodded in dismissal. You shook your head and turned to head out, shouting back to him over your shoulder.
“Remember,” only your head remained peeking through the crack in the door, “don’t leave this room.”
The door slammed behind you with a crack. Well, he was developing a pattern to say the least, you thought as you wandered down the hall to the drawing room.
***
You did your best to conceal the limp in your step as you entered, slipping easily into the small crowd of legislative staffers and scanning the room. Gahl was nowhere to be seen and neither was his ‘advisor.’ Immediately you felt a weight lifted off your shoulders. You consistently spent among crowds of men who frequently murdered people for political gain, however, you’d miscalculated how much harder it would be to keep your cool when your life was the one on the line.
The room was bright and airy, a small table was lined with furiously dainty finger food which you perused but found no appetite for. You sighed and moved on, trying to decide which inane conversation to insert yourself into when one found you first.
“Good morning,” an increasingly familiar voice spoke from behind you.
You turned to find Lem crossing the room and leaving behind a group of idly chatting aides.
“Hello,” you plastered a smile on your face in greeting as he saddled up. “The Representative chose not to grace us with his presence I see.”
He chuckled, “You really do get right down to business don’t you?”
“That is why I’m here,” you picked a tea sandwich off the table and popped it into your mouth just for the sake of the gesture. It tasted like sand in your mouth.
“Well then, I suppose I don’t mind skipping the pleasantries if you won’t think less of me for it,” Lem conceded and turned to stand next to you, surveying the crowd.
“In fact, I might think more of you.”
You followed suit, taking in the gaggles of people as your new companion passed you a glass of something fruity and expensive.
“Well in that case,” he took a sip and tucked a piece of yellow hair behind his ear, “you’d be correct in your assumption, the old man’s been called away on important campaign related business.”
“Would I be right in assuming you know more than you’re letting on?”
Lem glanced down at you from the corner of his eye and took a sip of his drink, “I think we’re both seasoned enough players of this game to know the answer to that.”
You hummed in concession, “Can you blame me for trying?”
“No,” he admitted easily. “But considering the fact you’ve been casing me like a house for robbery I would have hoped that conclusion would have come faster.
“I don’t know what you consider ‘casing,’ but I think you might be inflating yourself a bit there Mr. Alba,” you retorted, taking a sip and jolting a bit as the sweetness hit your tongue.
“A politician's assistant with an enlarged ego? Never.”
“Aren’t you a little too self aware to be in politics?”
Beside you, Lem laughed in earnest and you frowned, looking up at him. He wasn’t nearly as large as the Commander, so your neck wasn’t forced nearly to it’s breaking point in the process.
“You’re funny,” he said by way of explanation. “I didn’t think you’d be funny.”
“I’m just as shocked as you are,” you mumbled as a group of people bypassed you out into the hall.
“Well, you’re right,” Lem shrugged his shoulders, “I didn’t initially intend on ending up in government work.”
That was interesting. You felt yourself falling back into an old rhythm. Maybe Lem was onto something—if you wanted to get to Gahl, what better place to start than with the assistant. After all, if anyone wanted to know all the dirt on Hux, you were certainly the best person to ask. Why would this be any different?
“Is that so?” you prodded, hoping he’d continue on his own.
Of course he did. These people loved to talk about themselves.
“The Representative was a family friend and I was but a directionless youth bringing shame upon our good name,” he lamented, gesturing dramatically to a false, sympathetic audience.
“Was it kindness or pity then?” you asked, smiling and nodding to one of the campaign managers when she dipped behind you for a fruit tart.
Lem huffed out a laugh again and shook his head, “Gahl wasn’t always like this, I recall him being far more benignant when I first started.”
You latched on to the remorse in his tone: a soft spot in the apple. A perfect opportunity for you to worm your way in and feast on the flesh.
“It's an occupational hazard, really,” you glanced at his profile through your lashes and caught the faintest twinkle of vulnerability in the set of his jaw, “the constant power struggle drains one dry of any remaining empathy.”
“Hm, that’s certainly part of it,” Lem continued and downed the rest of his drink. “But he hasn’t really changed all that much until this election season.”
You’d broken the skin, now it was time to dig a bit deeper.
“Gahl seems pretty cut and dry, from what I can tell,” you locked your thighs against the growing ache between them from standing too still for too long, “what would you say has changed?”
“Well in all the years I’ve spent working for him, I’ve never known the man to run a smear campaign, not like this one at least. Really you should have seen the ads we ran for him, absolutely brutal,” Lem was nearly ranting now, and it seemed you’d struck the nerve you’d been searching for. “And, I mean no offense, but he’d certainly never have interacted more with the Order than was strictly necessary, much less agree to meet with your Commander what-ever-his-name-is personally.”
God you wished Commander what-ever-his-name-is Ren was around to hear that. The look on his face alone would be better than any orgasm he could give you.
“No, no, I wouldn’t do any business with us either if I could help it,” you conceded and handed Lem a second glass.
“You’re very gracious, thank you,” he accepted the drink and sighed.
You tried your best not to sympathize, but you were weak and soft and couldn’t quite help the pang in your chest. As lukewarm as you were about Lem Alba, you could see the bags under his eyes and the sallow pallor to his skin and you knew the look he wore too well.
Damn your occasional need to not be a total piece of shit.
“Trust me, I understand your frustration,” you let out a sigh of your own.
Commanding officers were a trial.
“And not to mention, ever since he brought on that new advisor, he’s had no need for any of my input,” Lem grumbled, pinching the bridge of his round nose.
Well, never mind, maybe your horrible lack of apathy was going to come in handy.
“The slimy one?”
He turned to look down at you with an incredulous smile, “Yeah, that’s the one.”
“What does he call himself?”
“Atreus,” Lem said, rolling his eyes. “Although I’m sure that’s not his real name. He seems to get off on being dark and mysterious.”
You could think of another person who fit that description, and both of them had wanted you dead on at least one occasion you were certain.
“Hm,” you nodded in agreement, “any idea where he came from?”
“None such luck, he just came crawling out of the woodwork one day a few months ago and well, you’ve seen the result,” he shrugged and finished off his second glass, taking yours from your hand and setting them off to the side. “Now, fancy a walk on the beach? I believe it’s my turn to take a crack at hunting for information.”
For a moment, you contemplated the likelihood that you were being played, that Lem was some elaborate plant and today was the day of your demise. But holding you hostage leagues away from crowds would invariably ensure your death would be wasted. Couldn’t stick it to the Order if there was no one around to watch. And not to stroke your own dick, but you were very well versed in picking up on genuine animosity towards superiors.
“I’m not entirely sure what you could possibly want to know that I have the answers to,” you said and turned to face him, “but I would love the excuse to skip a meeting.”
The sand was warm between your toes when you stepped onto the shore. A breeze stirred and kicked up the granules which bit at your skin. Lem walked beside you in silence for a while, swinging his loafers in his hand.  You looked out at the water, mind flashed with reluctant images of two bodies, bare and bruised, rolling in the surf.
“What’s it like?” your companion finally said, pulling you from your not so work appropriate thoughts.
“What’s what like?”
You turned to see Lem shaking his head and looking down at his feet.
“Working for the Order,” he clarified and you couldn’t stop the scoff before it blew past your lips.
“Do you seriously expect me to believe that’s what you really wanted to ask me?”
Lem held up a hand in surrender and swung to face you, “I promise, I’m being perfectly honest.” When you didn’t say anything, he continued, tone much softer under the crashing waves. “Are you always this mistrustful?”
You were certain that was meant to be a rhetorical question, but it triggered a bit of uncomfortable introspection. The answer was clearly yes, that was a given, a requirement. Of course you were, everyone who played the game of politics and treaties and thinly veiled threats was constantly waiting for someone to change loyalties at the flip of a switch. That was the rules, no one ever trusted anyone else father than they could shoot them. Alliances only worked when the playing parties were mutually benefitting or consistently in the other’s line of fire.
Truthfully, you hadn’t trusted a single soul since your academy days, and even that was questionable. You couldn’t trust your staff to do their jobs right, and the only conversations they ever had with you was nothing more than ass kissing lacking in both subtlety and class. The higher ups used you as a convenient garbage dump for all their internal screw ups.
Any human interaction you’d had during your time in negotiations was—stripped down to its roots—simply because someone wanted something from you.
Intentions mattered, anyone who said otherwise was only kidding themselves.
“Work is fine, pay is good,” you kept your tone short, “why do you ask?”
“Just curious, I always wondered what it would be like to work for them.”
“Well, I’d say it’s exactly what you’d expect,” you backed quickly away from the incoming tide, trying not to ruin any more clothing that you already had.
“I don’t know,” Lem shrugged and followed you farther up the beach, “I figured it would be more exciting than this.”
He gestured around vaguely at the villa and the ocean. Your balcony visible from here, you realized. Soon the two of you would walk right across the patch of sand where you and the Commander had tumbled desperately into each other. When you had—
“It isn’t,” you quickly nipped that train of thought in the bud. “Just the same sport on a bigger playing field.”
“You’re not doing a very good job of representing your product,” Lem quipped.
“Well thankfully I’m a diplomat, not a salesman.”
You were standing right by the path to your rooms now, in between the parted grass you could still see the imprints of massive feet. Kylo must have carried you back last night, cold and wet and debauched. You could almost see him, muscles in his back rippling, your weight barely registering as he walked on legs like tree trunks up the small incline. The water would be dripping off his hair, coating each pretty strand and leaching away its softness.
“Isn’t it all the same evil though,” Lem mused, pausing next to you on the beach, completely unaware of what the sand here had witnessed only a few hours ago.
“Depends on what you define as evil.”
You wondered if Kylo could see you now, if he could hear you—really hear you. Wondered if you’d ever get to know what went on inside his head. Wondered if you’d even want to. Maybe that made you evil. Or maybe you were just weak.
“I think you’d know better than me,” Lem was staring off at the water when you turned and his neat hair parted with the breeze.
“Why’s that?” you asked, facing back to stare into the window to your room, hoping to catch a glimpse of something.
Just something.
“Well homicide isn’t included in my negotiating arsenal for one thing,” he huffed, stuffing his hands into his jacket pockets.
“I’ve never killed anyone.”
You didn’t know why you whispered the words, didn’t know why you said them at all, but there they were drifting out to sea like a rudderless ship.
“Why not?”
“Never had too,” you said simply, “not directly at least.”
Lem hummed thoughtfully, “But would you?”
You were still staring up at the curtain covered window.
“Is that what you think evil is?”
“That’s what I think devotion is,” Lem replied simply. “The evil is in refusing.”
A shadow passed across the glass, tall and menacing and real.
“I don’t know,” you said finally, after a moment of silence.
“Don’t know what?”
You shook your head, “I don’t know if I would kill someone, personally I mean.”
“Fair enough,” the sound of skipping shells rang out behind you as Lem spoke, “I don’t think anyone really knows until the knife is in their hand and the throat is under it.”
You aren’t going to die.
You could hear Kylo’s voice and the crashing of the sea—or maybe it was something else, something else entirely that was churning around you. Something red and crackling.
An act of devotion.
“Yeah, I suppose you’re right.”
***
You could feel his eyes on you the second you returned. It was well into the night after a day of meetings that ran too long. But one quick scan of the room and you came up empty of brooding men in flowing black robes. Despite his lack of physical presence, you swore you could feel staring, tracking the uneven movement of your legs as you took a step further from the door.
Kylo Ren was here somewhere, you could feel the weight of him, filling up all the extra space in the air.
The sullen feeling of being watched followed you, making your skin flush with gooseflesh, while you stood in the middle of the room. Something moved in the shadows of the balcony. You caught just a twitch from the corner of your vision, the heel of boot pulled back into the dark.
So that’s where he was hiding. Or maybe lurking was a more appropriate word for it.
When your eyes had adjusted to the low light of the moon, you could just barely make him out. Kylo was nothing more than a dark silhouette against the horizon, leaning back against the rail of the balcony. You couldn’t see his face, but you could easily imagine the blank, drawn expression. The regal tilt of his jaw and the sculpted profile of his prominent nose. The slight peek of his ears between dark waves of hair.
You paused for a moment, debating whether or not you cared enough to fill him in on what you’d gathered that morning. Lem had been more forthcoming with you for the rest of the day after your heart to heart and you’d been able to create a halfway decent profile of your target by the end of your last meeting. But there was palpable tension in the room that you couldn’t quite place, and it felt like one wrong step might find you backed up against the wall, feet dangling and throat crushed in an invisible grip.
Turning, you sat yourself gingerly on the edge of the bed and pulled off your shoes. When you dropped them to the ground though, you heard the rustling of paper. Scattered on the floor was the tattered remains of a padded envelope. You frowned, picking up one of the scraps to try and make out the writing.
Your name was scrawled in messy print, torn halfway through.
It was only when you noticed the small shreds of fabric littered among the mess that you realized what you were holding.
“I’ll have one of the aides send for some seaside appropriate attire, you might find you’d like to go for a swim.”
“Let me know,” he cleared his throat, “if that’s not the right fit. I can have another sent up.”
It was the package Lem had given you days ago. You’d nearly forgotten about the awful conversation with Gahl your first night on Coruscant. Some part of you was glad you’d never have to see it in one piece, the memory of his hand on your thigh still made you gag.
You grabbed a piece of the ruined material and felt the rough outline of lace under your fingertips.
From the balcony there came the sound of shuffling boots as Ren adjusted himself and turned away from you to look out over the sea.
“You really shouldn’t open mail that isn’t addressed to you, sir,” you mumbled under your breath, but got no response.
In fact, the entire room was littered with the remnants of your gift from the representative. You wondered how long he’d been sitting there sulking over it. Something in your chest swelled at the thought of him, eye twitching just before he ripped the garment to shreds. You could hear the shout that would have torn through his throat.
Really, he fucks you once and he’s already jealous? Very unprofessional.
The thought did wonders for your ego.
And wreaked havoc on your incredibly sore pussy, that clenched involuntarily against a new rush of warmth.
But however much sick pride you took in exposing the Commander’s inability to control himself, you couldn’t shake the twinge of annoyance that bubbled constantly under the surface of your mind whenever Kylo Ren was involved.
The boots, the cryptic half answers, the unclear label for whatever the hell had happened between the two of you buried in each other on the sand— that was one thing.
But this was a slippery slope and you weren’t one for simply riding along without question.
“Tell me what you want.”
That’s what he always said, be a shame if Ren couldn’t hold himself to the same standards.
Without bothering to look back at him, you stood back up from the bed, proudly displayed at the center of the room.
Slowly you lifted your arms, pulling away your top and letting it drop with a soft thump to the floor. You didn’t see him turn at the sound, but you felt it. Could sense where his eyes alighted on your bare back. They lit fiery trails wherever he paused on the blooms of broken blood vessels under your skin. You did your best not to shudder under his stare.
You worked slowly, peeling each layer off piece by piece. Made a show of it, ran your fingers along the soft skin of your arms and gave him a lovely view of your ass when you bent down to roll off your socks. You could hear the catch in his breath so faint under the sound of the wind, and wondered if he could see the wetness glinting off your thighs in the low light.
Wondered if he could smell it on you.
Never once did you turn to face him, waiting until you were completely bare to walk ever so slowly into the bathroom, leaving the door wide open behind you. Flicking on the soft lights you started the shower with a frustratingly shaky hand. Warm water rushed through the pipes and drowned out any sound from the main room.
You stepped past the two tile walls that blocked off the shower and let the stream of water tumble over you. It poured like a waterfall, cocooning you in the stream of it. You waited patiently to see what the Commander would do, if he’d take the bait.
Of course he did.
You didn’t have to wait for very long.
He took up the entire doorway when he entered, a massive wall of muscle and sinew that towered over you in a way no one ever had before.
It was thrilling.
“What do you think you’re doing?” he asked, voice low and layered with poorly restrained need.
Kylo was still fully clothed, but the hard outline of his cock was clear against his thigh. You let the water run over your breasts, cupping them as though you were one of those ornate stone fountains.
“What does it look like?”
He rolled his lips, “All I see is a whore who has no idea what she’s getting herself into.”
He was right, you didn’t. But you wanted it anyway.
“Hmm,” you nodded. “So why don’t you show me?”
You stepped out of the water, leaving puddles behind as you crossed over to him, standing just out of arm's reach. Kylo’s fingers clenched at his sides, his neck tilted down to stare at the water running down your chest.
What happened next was not at all what you’d expected.
You’d thought he might snap the way he often did, might yell or bend you over the vanity and give you even more marks that would smart in the morning. But he did none of that.
Instead he lifted a single hand, his arm impossibly long and reaching you despite the distance. The second his fingertips landed on your skin, the world went black.
You felt like you were falling, your stomach doing flips as you tumbled through darkness. Everything was coming in flashes. Your feet—well no not yours, Kylo’s you realized—sticking in viscous black sludge that clung in sticky trails along the skin of your—his—legs.
A pit, gaping and horrible.
Something burning, something blistering and crackling and raging red. It rose above you, flowing strangely like liquid sloshing and rolling like a flash flood and you staggered back. Something was rushing by your ears, light blurring in front of your eyes like a ship just about to jump into hyperspace. All of sudden, you were hurtled back into the present gasping and pitching forward into the Commander’s solid chest.
He didn’t push you away, just stood as you breathed him in and tried to plant your feet firmly on the ground.
“What was that?”
Your voice sounded so small after the intense roaring of whatever he’d shown you. Kylo’s hand threaded into the hair at the base of your skull and yanked back until your knees buckled under the force and you hung limply from his grip.
“You would do well to listen when I say you have no idea what’s at stake here,” he hissed and you clawed at his hands.
“Maybe if you bothered to explain it to me, I’d be more inclined to agree!”
He shook you violently and you tried to kick your feet under you but the slick tiles offered no leverage. Kylo dropped a hand, fumbling with the button on his pants.
“I think you’re far too busy parading yourself around like the little slut you are.”
In one smooth motion, he freed his cock from the confines of his trousers. It was just as massive as you remember, red and leaking white beads of precum. He gave it two long strokes, holding you at eye level with his dick.
You really ought to keep your mouth shut, but despite the pain in your scalp, your cunt was clenching at the sight of rock hard and weeping for you.
“Am I a slut or are you just a possessive bastard?”
You could pinpoint the exact moment Kylo Ren snapped. The change was subtle, a short grinding of his jaw, just a flicker of his eyes before he had your head slammed down on the vanity, ass up and knees spread for him to settle between.
His hand in your hair tilted your head up so you could watch as he guided his length to your soaked lips. He coated himself in your slick, circling your entrance and nudging your stiff clit with every stroke.
“Watch and you tell me,” he grunted before ramming his cock into you.
It burned and stretched until you felt him in your throat, a choked moan rattling out of your mouth. You could do nothing but watch your reflection, tears beading at the corners of your eyes when he pulled out only to thrust back in. Kylo set a savage pace, the sound of slapping skin and his groans echoed around you.
You watched his face in the mirror, flushed bright red, one hand still on your head and the other steadying your hips as he drove into you. The drag of him was delicious, pulling pleasure out of places so deep you’d nearly forgotten they existed.
“So desperate for your Commander’s cock, aren’t you?” he growled, draping himself over your back.
His chest pinned your harder into the marble vanity, crushing your breasts against the cool surface while the hand on your hip reached around and pressed hard into your stomach just above your pussy.
“Feel that? Feel how this cunt was made for me?”
Kylo’s head dropped to your shoulder and his teeth sunk into the flesh, muffling the obscene moan that rumbled between his ribs when you tightened yourself around him. You whined, nipples straining against the cold stone and neglected clit begging for attention.
“Kylo, please,” you sobbed, forgetting the game entirely, all confidence leaking away and replaced by a hunger only he could sate.
“No,” he snarled, rearing back and yanking your head up with him. “You don’t get to beg now.”
You were absolutely ruined, skin more bruised than not and mouth hanging open in a silent cry. He met your gaze through the mirror, and you were entirely convinced it was the most beautiful thing you’d ever seen. Kylo’s lovely brown eyes were completely black with lust, his hair a crown of sweat soaked curls and a lovely blush that spread all the way to his ears. Plush lips pulled back to show his crooked teeth that splayed out like white gemstones.
He looked every bit a dark, magnificent prince. A fallen angel or a devil or any number of cruel celestial beings—in any case the man above you could not be human.
And yet, you knew he was.
You’d been gifted with the evidence of it, painted him with purple blossoms and seen him bare with scars and freckles and your favorite mole above his gorgeous full lips. The way his breath always smelled like toothpaste.
In all your life you’d never been known to take orders well from any man, but staring at Kylo Ren as he pounded his massive cock into you—meeting you head on without restraint, a comeback always at the tip of his skilled tongue—you thought you might not mind it so much if it was him.
And then his hips stilled, and he was looping your arms around his neck and pawing at your thighs before locking his arms under them and lifting you up, back against his chest.
“Fuck, Kylo—” you yelped at the change of angle and the strength of his arms to keep you aloft.
The shower sprayed down on him, soaking his clothes as he leaned back against the tile wall and fucked you on his cock. The mirror provided a full view of your bodies joining. You watched entranced as his arms flexed, biceps bulging while your pussy swallowed his length and your tits bounced with every thrust.
“That’s the only name I ever want to hear out of your mouth.”
He turned his face into your neck, lips and teeth sucking and nipping at the skin. It was too much, too much and not enough and you were overcome once again with the feeling of something filling in all your hollow spaces. And you knew in your bones straight to the marrow that the pit filled with churning, crackling magma was bubbling up again, accepting everything Kylo poured into you.
You clung on to the feeling and shouted through it.
Kylo, you called, breath coming in ragged gasps.
You were so close from just his cock in you, but it wasn’t enough.
You weren’t sure if anything ever would be.
Kylo, you repeated it like a holy word, long forgotten and imbued with the power of ancient gods.
He buried his head deeper into the column of your throat, squeezing his eye shut as if that could block out your cries.
Kylokylokylokylokylokylo, you chanted in a never ending string until the dam finally broke and you felt his thoughts slipping into you like they’d always belonged there, like there had always been space for them.
It was all too jumbled for you to parse any meaning from it. Snippets of red hot anger revealed themselves to you in a shower of manilla paper. Voices, dark and malevolent whispered of challengers and danger and design. Your body, motionless on the bed painted in ropes of his release and the comforting weight of you in his arms, real, alive, willing and wanting.
Take me, if you didn’t know better you’d think he was the one begging, take all of me .
You nodded and nudged him with your nose until his lips were crashing against yours in a flurry of hot tongue and teeth. His arms left your thighs which remained impossibly in place, held up by invisible hands as he grasped at your chest, rolling a hard nipple under his thumb while the other found your clit and finally, finally rubbed frantic circles around the neglected nerves.
Kylo’s hips never stopped their frantic pace, his cock reaching its limit inside you, and finally he was cumming, sheathed in your heat and pumping you blessedly full while he sent you tumbling over the edge with him.
And as the waves of pleasure radiated over your skin, boiled in your bloodstream—as Kylo licked the backs of your teeth and swallowed down every cry that left you—everything faded out around the edges once again, although now for much more pleasurable reasons.
***
When you opened your eyes again, you were laying in bed. The sheets were damp, but not uncomfortably so.
And this time, you were not alone. Kylo’s hands, massive and all encompassing were splayed against your stomach and chest, one cupping your left breast gently in his palm. His body engulfed you from behind, bare skin hot against yours.
So hot, you thought something inside him must be burning.
Maybe it was.
Kylo? you wondered silently, unsure he could still hear you.
I’m here.
His hand on your chest flexed as he pulled you tighter. Something told you this was not the first time he’d held you like this, there was something too practiced about the placement of his body.
What is this?
You weren’t exactly sure what you meant by that, but he seemed to understand the question.
He was silent for a moment, I don’t know.
The lie was apparent the moment the words drifted into your head. And confirmation was echoed back to you. He knew, or at least knew some of it, just wouldn’t tell you.
That was okay, you hadn’t really expected anything else.
You’re safe with me, he whispered instead.
And that was not entirely true either, in fact you would not be here if not for him. But all of this had a certain inevitability about it that you couldn’t place. A feeling that this would have happened regardless, or a version of it with the same outcome.
You closed your eyes against the thought and nodded, letting yourself be held like you had so often dreamed of on lonely nights in your small quarters
You were safe then, safe but empty.
And really, that was so much worse.

if ur still up for headcanons, riptide for your brainworms and magnus for mine?
DREAMBOAT. riptiiiiiiiide. i spend a lot of time building this boy up from nothing, as i haven’t even reached the part of the comic that he’s in yet. lol
he doesn’t drink! i put this in a fic for a consent explanation but decided i actually really liked it. my explanation is that boats have a lot of liquid balance to deal with just...being boats, so they have to be really careful about their intake! not that they all just can’t drink at all, but riptide finds calculating what and how much he can drink to be too much trouble, so he just figured out how much sparkly stuff he can put in regular energon and goes with that so he can hangout with his friends in social drinking situations.
i think boat culture in general is less...weird about the gender thing than a lot of cybertronians are. i like the idea that boats have been on the side developing their own thing while everything else on cybertron became formal and weird and eventually collapsible. this leads to a lot of fun nested headcanons!! the gender thing primarily. riptide meets nautica and is like oh! Submarine, nice and just doesn’t even care about the she??? She?????? of it all
this is also my approach to his mto status, in that boat culture in general doesn’t give a fuck about that kind of thing. they saw a boat and went ayy!! boat!! and he’s been about that lackadaisical about it ever since.
speaking of boat culture lets talk about BABIES. i did this in a twitter thread once so it’s cheating but i CARE THEM. boat babies are raised communally with the carrier as the only designated parent. they have really soft plating that makes them very flexible, like its disquieting to other alt modes. they also have MANY TEETH, an unsettling amount of teeth, and are fond of grinning. they’ve got connectors like little parasite fish suckers that let them latch on to bigger mechs and ride around. please just imagine with me riptide carrying around this genderless little monster baby, not telling anyone who the father is, while half the lost light freaks out. it’s a thread that soothes me regularly. the other soothing thing is that the scavengers fucking love this weird baby a lot, SO IMAGINE KROK HOLDING THIS LITTLE TERROR!!!!!
my completely unfounded friendship group headcanon that i hold near and dear to my heart is riptide, nautica, and rung. i think they all bond about cybertronians being weird as fuck all the time, riptide as a boat, nautica as a camien, and rung in a removed “i looked away from my science project for four million years and they developed a society wtf.” i just like to think about them meeting up to be like WHAT/WHY IS THE WEIRD SOCIETAL EXPECTATION OF THE WEEK. did i just order a “riptide-nautica-rung” linking charm set from etsy?? yes. that is how hard i believe in this dumb friendship headcanon.
oh mr. magnus. i’m GOING to make some of these fun!!
magnus’s processor has a lot of autonomic functions he doesn’t even realize are there, and most of them are just self-preservation to combat the hypervigilance. i think he compulsively gathers data around him, and needs a way to catalogue it so it doesn’t overwhelm him!! (i’m thinking about the drift criminal status hud panel here) the hypervigilance is a combination of “he always liked being aware of his surroundings” and well, the War. but his autonomic processes have settled into taking this massive amount of data input and settling it into neat lists and spreadsheets and even when he’s accessing these lists and spreadsheets he has no idea they’re there or where they came from.
hmmmm, how about a distinct headcanon i have for g1 magnus?? i think he genuinely cares so much for everyone around him, not just under his command. his empathy drive is just in overdrive all the time, and he finds himself caring not just about his mechs, but his enemies, random bystanders of the war etc.
okay back to idw: i think some small part of magnus really likes having drift around as a nemesis. important things: drift does not consider them nemeses. magnus would also NEVER voice this out loud. but secretly, drift is his nemesis and he maybe hangs around drift sometimes under the guise of “keeping watch for criminal activity” but really he just enjoys arguing with him about mysticism. because they’re nemeses.
magnus actually really likes how useful his alt mode is!! every time he gets to tow or carry something he gets a little zing of happiness because it’s such a little difference but it’s a physical difference he can make. it’s like...clearing clutter from a room, you can SEE what it is you’ve done and he loves that!!
tfp ultra magnus took one look at the rescue bot logs and immediately turned them off. he doesn’t know what’s wrong with griffin rock, but he knows he absolutely cannot handle it. he also knows wheeljack must never learn of it.

A series of seventeen canvases are displayed at the Pelican Town Founder’s Day Festival, done in the style of a digital comic, with varying amounts of panels. Matty submitted them to Mayor Lewis anonymously, but may have given himself away by 1) not obviously featuring in any of the pictures himself and 2) lurking around the exhibit to see if people like what he’s drawn. The series is called ‘Hourly’, and is based on things he has seen throughout the time he’s lived Pelican Town - the things that make it special, in his opinion.
6AM - A single panel. Malia’s House.
The sun is just beginning to rise; the sky clear and pale. Malia has just returned from the night shift at the nursing home. She’s still wearing her scrubs, and she looks worn out, but the small smile on her face is undeniably fond as she bends down to pet the black cat winding its way around her ankles.
7AM - Four panels. Johnson-Phan/Pena farm.
The first two panels are of some random things from around the farm - a funny looking scarecrow with a turnip for a head, a clutch of confused looking hens, and three crates of shiny red apples.
The third panel is of Art and Lizzie standing in a barren field at the edge of the property. Art looks crestfallen, but Lizzie has noticed something.
The fourth panel - something is growing! A tiny green sprout is poking out of the dark soil, and Lizzie has thrown one of her arms around Art, pointing at it with stars in her eyes. Art looks shocked and delighted.
8AM - Two panels. Pelican Town Square, Library.
The first panel is of Gabe and Thalia on their way to school. They are holding hands, and appear to be playing some sort of hopping game on the paving stones as they walk. Thalia has a little lunch box clutched in her hand, and Gabe is carrying her backpack on his shoulder.
The second panel is outside the library, just before the school bell rings. Thalia is waving an excited goodbye as Alex holds open the door for her to go inside for class.
9AM - Four panels. Varani farm.
The first two panels are of Kiran’s cows, the second being specifically of Lola and Sadie, who are gently touching noses.
The third panel is of Kiran pouring feed into their trough. His hair is pulled back in a bun, and his shirt sleeves are rolled up to the elbow.
The fourth is of Kiran standing on the bottom rung of the fence around their paddock. He has a hand outstretched to gently pet the velvet of Lola’s nose, the expression on his face pensive.
10AM - Four panels. Doctor’s Office.
The first panel shows the morning sunlight filtering through the window of the clinic, casting Henry’s face in a warm glow as he sits at the reception desk. He looks engrossed in what he’s doing, but seems content. There’s a mug of tea at his side, and a half-eaten danish.
The second panel is of things of interest around the waiting room - the spread of magazines, a potted plant, and the posters on the walls.
The third panel is of Ben sitting at the desk in his office, enjoying a moment of relative calm before his next patient arrives. There’s an empty plate beside him too, and the light from the window catches the steam from his coffee, giving the scene a dreamy quality.
The fourth panel has been drawn through the window in the door that leads to the ward. Koa is sitting on one of the beds, looking sheepish as Ben applies a bandaid to some unseen injury on his forehead.
11AM - A single panel. Pelican Town Square.
A flurry of leaves skitters across the cobbles. Dakota is standing at the community notice board, carefully pinning up their poster inviting people to join their dnd group. They look nervous, but hopeful. Iris is sitting on one of the benches nearby. She’s on the phone, and looks bored and frustrated. She has her own notice clutched in her hand.
12PM - Three panels. Mercers’ General Store
The first two panels are of some of the local produce available in the General Store, carefully reconstructed in bright, appealing colours.
The third panel is of Jillian, who is stacking some shelves, and Finley, who is leaning on the counter and grinning as they talk to her. Jillian is in the process of rolling her eyes, but she has her face turned away from Finley so they won’t see her smile. They’re both in their uniforms.
1PM - A single panel. Graveyard.
The sun is high in the sky. Sofia sits beneath the large oak tree that grows next to the cemetery. She has a little packed lunch set out on the grass beside her, but it looks largely untouched - she’s too busy reading her book! The cover reads ‘Carrie’.
2PM - A single panel. Community Centre.
Having found time in their busy schedules for a little break, Adria and Ben are sitting together in the small park next to the old community centre. They have takeaway coffees from the saloon, and a bag of biscotti open on the bench between them. They are chatting amiably, Adria laughing softly at something Ben has said.
3PM - Two panels. Mayor Lewis’s House.
The Mayor is standing by his front gate, a pile of important-looking papers precariously balanced in one of his arms. He’s the only subject that seems aware that he’s being sketched, and he waves cheerfully at the artist. A piece of paper is caught in the breeze and flutters away.
Sasha is watching her father from the doorway of their house, her expression quietly affectionate.
4PM - A single panel. Abandoned JojaMart.
The sun is low in the sky, but the assembled crew are still hard at work on the construction of the town’s new cinema. Ben and Fry are on the roof, in the process of taking down the old Joja sign once and for all. Elaine is directing from the ground, looking very professional in a hard hat and tool belt, and Art can be seen through the window of the building, sawing enthusiastically through some wooden boards.
In the background, Koa is whistling as he carries a box of geodes. One has fallen off the pile and cracked open on the sidewalk - it’s got a prismatic shard inside, but he hasn’t seen it!
5PM - Two panels. Cindersap Forest.
The first panel is of the exterior of Sloane’s van against the backdrop of the dark woods. There is a handmade sign posted outside, offering palmistry and tarot readings, and the fairy lights hung around the windows are glowing cheerfully.
The second panel is of Sloane faerself, handing over a package of herbal tea to Anya to make use of at the spa.
6PM - Four panels. The beach.
The four panels depict Jemma practicing some manoeuvres with her sword, kicking up sand and ocean spray on all sides. She looks like she’s having a lot of fun. The seagulls scattered around her don’t seem to share the sentiment.
7PM - Three panels. Elaine’s workshop.
The first two panels are of some of the projects set up around Elaine’s shop. There are a few intricately carved chairs and tables, and some beautiful handmade vases standing next to her pottery wheel.
Elaine is busy sanding in the third panel, her hands covered in scrapes and sawdust. Her dinner, which sits on the bench beside her, has only been picked at and left to go cold. Her cell phone is lit up - the tiny letters on the display look like they might say ‘Sofia’, but it’s hard to tell.
8PM - A single panel. The mountains.
The night sky is purple from the remains of the setting sun, and is already filled with a galaxy of stars. Sasha and Zola are crowded around a telescope, which looks a little battered from being dragged half way up the mountain. Zola points into the distance with enthusiasm, but Sasha looks unconvinced. In the sky behind them is a tiny UFO, but they don’t seem to have noticed it.
9PM - Five panels. Stardrop Saloon.
The first panel is of Archie. She sits alone in the corner of the room, headphones on, the screen of her laptop lighting up her face and reflecting in her glasses. Her bag is on top of the other chair at the table, pointedly letting people know she doesn’t want anyone to sit there. There’s a little ghost sticker on her computer.
The second panel is of Arden and Jemma. The girls are standing behind the bar and amusing themselves with cocktail tricks (or Arden is amusing Jemma, who has been given a plastic cup to practice with). They have matching paper umbrellas tucked behind their ears.
The third panel finds a group in the game room. Koa, Malia, Finley and Jillian are playing a game of pool - Koa and Jillian are losing, and Jillian doesn’t look like she’s taking it very well.
The fourth panel is of the bar, where Lizzie, Sasha, Art and Kiran are all sitting together. They look like they’re playing some sort of drinking game, the rules of which are unclear. In the background, Elaine and Sofia can be seen sitting together at a cosy table.
The fifth panel is of Sloane, who is dancing to the music playing on the jukebox, a glass of wine in hand. Fae don’t seem to have a care in the world.
10PM - A single panel. Water tower.
The final panel depicts the water tower near the train station. It stands as an inky silhouette against the night sky, which is full of stars and a large silvery moon. In the distance, the Valley’s purple mountains loom large. Two figures are sat on the tower’s platform, their legs dangling over the edge as they rest their arms against the railing, and their features cast in shadow. The Valley sure looks beautiful from up there.

Pretty in Pearls, Chapter 6 (Jankie) - Plastiquedoll
read on ao3 💄| previous chapters
A/N: hi! it took me a while but here's a new update I hope you enjoy it! thank you for reading it! <3
-6-
“I can’t do this anymore,” Jan complained.
Jackie lifted her gaze from the book she was reading.
“This is the third time you say that… algebra can’t possibly be that bad.”
“For your consideration, there aren’t even numbers on these exercises, it’s Math… there should be numbers… where are the numbers?” She whined.
“Don’t look at me, why do you think I chose Art History? After high school, I promised myself my relationship with calculus was over.”
Jan sighed but focused on the assignment once again.
“Okay… I’m done… that was the last exercise of the sheet. I refuse to keep using my brain for what’s left of the day.”
Jackie chuckled.
They were alone in the copy room. It had been one of those quiet days; it was raining outside so Jan’s practice had been canceled but luckily her friend enjoyed her company while she did homework as well. In the past two hours, only a lost student walked in begging for a copy of a study guide for a mid-term for the following day. Jackie had the radio on and she had let the younger chose the station, Jan had picked a bubblegum pop radio that kept playing songs from the ’00s and the 10’s –to which she had found Jackie mumbling the lyrics a couple of times.
As much as she hated to miss her practice, she had to admit it was the first time in two weeks she had a moment to breathe. With her responsibilities and new hobby involved, she barely had time to take a break.
Jackie had her eyes on the book and one hand on the computer’s keyboard. She had been writing notes non-stop since her meeting with the dean. As she had explained it to Jan, her complaint had been discussed, and even when she presented a well-written note and had some witnesses to back it up, the only thing the university was doing was reprimand him and, –since it was the first time someone had said something about the professor’s behavior- let him continue his classes with a warning.
In terms of Jackie’s situation, they had dictated that she’d be able to present a final assignment that would include several –if not all- units of the program, and it would be evaluated by a panel of professors from similar backgrounds, to make it fair. The thing was that her former professor was the one that had formulated the questions and, aside from being a lot, they were pretty gimmicky and for all those reasons, she had started the assignment way earlier than the semester was over, just to be sure.
“Okay, I’m done for the day too.” She closed her notebook. “I feel like there’s smoke coming from my ears or something.”
“Oh, was it you? I thought it was one of the machines.”
Jackie scrunched her nose. “Anyway, it seems like it’s a slow day and I have ten more minutes here so… Do you want to go watch a movie at the cinema?”
“At the cinema? Whoa… I haven’t thought about it but it’s been ages since I went to watch a movie…”
“Is that a yes…?” Jackie did her best to hide her nervousness behind the question.
“Sure. But I have to warn you, I’m not good with horror movies.” Jan shrugged.
“I saw that coming… But there’s this old cinema called Bellamy, we could ride the subway and would be there in no time. They play random movies every day so we could just get there and grab a couple of tickets for the next feature. What do you say?”
“Sounds good to me. Oh! I’ll put it on the group chat in case anyone else wants to tag along.”
Jackie’s lips turned into a thin line. “Okay… you do that and I’ll finish here.”
Jan hadn’t even noticed the shift in the girl’s mood, she was way too excited typing the message on her phone.
“I hope you’re not upset but it seems it’s going to be just me and you,” Jan mentioned while Jackie closed the door of the copy room. “Everyone’s plans or they are studying or… I don’t know.”
“Oh… no… it’s fine by me if it’s fine for you.”
“Of course! It’ll be fun!” She smiled.
It was still raining outside so they shared Jackie’s red umbrella that matched with her rain boots.
“What’s with this downpour?” Jackie wiped some drops from her clothes once they got underground. “Okay, here we go.”
Jan seemed amused. “I have never ridden the subway… well, back when I was like four I’m sure my mom took us me and my brother but I have no memories of it whatsoever.”
“You’ll get used to it quickly. Honestly, it’s one of the easiest ways to travel when it’s not packed.”
Without objecting, Jan followed Jackie’s lead up close. They almost coordinated steps to avoid puddles while running; the comical situation got them laughing at loud all their way to the subway station.
“I’m out of breath.” Jackie leaned against one column before closing the umbrella.
They shook some drops out of their clothes and waited for the subway to arrive. When it arrived not even five minutes later, they rushed to climb onto the wagon before they got pushed by others passengers. At least with the rain, there was place to move and even some seats available.
Jan had decided she liked riding the subway, it was a great place to observe the diversity of the fauna of the city. There were all kinds of people around probably heading to their works or their homes or to meet friends or just somewhere different. It was exciting, to consider the unlimited possibilities.
She looked at Jackie and displayed a giant grin that had the other girl blushing lightly and looking away.
“So how did you find this place?” Jan asked after a couple of minutes.
It caught Jackie out of guard. “Huh? What do you mean?” She frowned lightly.
“I was wondering how did you find this place since it’s not near the campus.”
“Oh that… I actually discovered it a couple of years ago. Things at home with my mom after the divorce weren’t precisely on the best terms so after school I never got straight back there. Instead, I started wandering around and taking the subway or the bus to go anywhere really.” Her voice threatened with breaking but she quickly cleared her throat. “One of those times I ended up in this old building, a theatre with so much history and they played these movies I had never seen before so… I stayed there ever since.”
“Whoa… that’s…” Jan wanted to reach for her hand but the older girl hurried to jump off the seat.
“This is our stop.” She pointed out.
“Alright. We’re here.”
“We are.” Jackie showed her a smile and grabbed the umbrella, ready to face the rain. “Let’s go.”
They had arrived just in time for Carrie but since Jan had stated she didn’t enjoy horror films, they waited ten minutes for the next movie to start. Coincidentally, it was My Fair Lady with Audrey Hepburn so it would also work for research purposes –or that was what Jan said- aside from the fact she had never watched it.
Jackie couldn’t say she was a newbie to Hepburn’s movies, she had watched all of them at least once but having company was new to her. Since getting into college she had stopped needing the cinema as an escape, a way to avoid reality at least for a couple hours; it was after meeting her friends and starting her classes that she eventually had less time to go there or simply, didn’t need it anymore.
Now, it was a whole different scenario. She had Jan next to her and it was a bit magical to see her in the dark with the light of the screen reflecting on her face, something that made her heart race. She would’ve died to hold her hand at that instant but it was true that she’d also die if she touched her as if Jan held the power of burning her with a mere contact.
Then, the screen went black and the credits started rolling, the movie was over.
They waited until most people had left the room and then they walked out.
“So, did you like the movie?”
Jan tilted her head. “Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy a period piece from time to time and the costumes were iconic but… Professor Higgins is awful!” She gestured with her hands to emphasize her displeasure. “He spent all this time torturing Eliza… changing her to the point where she couldn’t go back to her life. That’s a psychopath.”
“Oh thank God, we agree.” Jackie sighed with relief.
“No wonder Rosé and her classmates changed part of the plot because…”
“Yeah. I’m dying to see that. How are the rehearsals going by the way?”
“They are great, I have a small part… the equivalent of one of those ladies on the horse races and I appear in two numbers but the rehearsals are so much fun with everyone. It's a nice group of people that are passionate about musicals.”
They got out of the room and saw the people already gathering for the next feature. The smell of popcorn was strong in the air just like the humidity of the rain on the carpet.
Jackie spotted a familiar face and her eyes lighted up. “Oh my God, Sophie!” She waved toward a short old woman with white hair and giant round glasses. “Jan, you have to meet Sophie”
“Jackie, darling.” She shuffled toward them. She pulled Jackie for a tight hug. The woman barely reached her waist.
“Sophie, this is my friend, Jan.” She introduced them.
“Hi-” Before Jan could say something else, Sophie also hugged her.
“Sophie is the owner of the theatre,” Jackie explained once the old lady let the younger breathe.
“Oh! That’s awesome. It’s really nice to meet you.”
“It’s nice to meet you too. I have waited for ages for Jackie to finally bring a special someone…”
“No!” Jackie shook her head. “It’s- It’s not like that at all… We’re friends.”
“Pardon me, it’s only that when you introduced me to this lovely young lady I just thought… maybe someone had finally melted your cold façade.”
“Oh, Sophie… what are you saying?” She laughed nervously, her face was completely red. “Don’t listen to her… she’s old.”
Jan giggled. “It’s alright. I adore Jackie, she’s one of my best friends.”
“I haven’t seen this one in a while, you’d think she vanished or something.” The woman pointed.
“I’m sorry, Sophie. I should’ve called you at least.”
“For sure.” Sophie nagged.
“It won’t happen again… I’ll come back more often after the midterms, I promise it.”
“Oh darling, you haven’t heard, have you?”
Jackie looked puzzled. “What?”
“The Bellamy is going to be demolished.”
“What?!” The girl’s jaw dropped to the floor.
“How?” Jan asked, in disbelief as well.
“Well, a group of rich people has decided this is the perfect location to build one of those department stores.”
“No, no, no… this can’t be. This place is sacred, part of the cultural heritage of the city, it can’t be destroyed to build a mall.”
The old lady shrugged. “There’s not much I can do about it, it’s already written.” She patted Jackie’s shoulder. “Listen, honey, the important thing is that this place served its purpose for a long, long time and we got to enjoy it.”
Jackie was on the verge of tears. “How can you say that? How can you give up just like that? Without even putting a fight? The Bellamy is not just another cinema.”
The girl stormed out of the theatre before anyone else could say something.
“Wait! Jackie!” Jan shouted but she lost the girl in the crowd. “I’m sorry, I’m sure she didn’t mean any of that.” She softly explained to Sophie.
“You don’t need to tell me, I know. Now go after her, she needs a friend right now.”
“Yeah… I will…” Jan turned around.
“Oh, and Jan, one more thing,” Sophie called. “keep an eye on her, she seems inscrutable sometimes but she’s sensitive underneath.”
Jan displayed a tiny smile. “I know.”
“Jackie! Jackie wait!”
As if it didn’t matter at all, it had stopped raining.
She found the elder laying against the wall, next to a Casablanca poster that had been there since… well… probably since Casablanca first premiered.
Jackie’s cheeks were wet and her eyes reddened but she had wiped all the tears before Jan got closer.
“Hey… I’m so sorry.” Jan looked at her with soft eyes.
Jackie closed her eyes and sighed loudly. “I can’t believe it… this theatre is a home to me.”
“There must be a way to save it, we’ll figure something out.”
“I don’t know… it seems impossible… even Sophie has renounced.”
“Then we’ll convince her as well.” Jan grabbed her wrists. “We’ll find a way, there’s always a way.”
“Okay, Disney Channel Original Movie motivational speech.”
Jan chuckled. “What do you say if –for now- we go home and pick something to eat? I’m starving and... is it me or popcorn buckets are getting smaller?”
She got a smile from Jackie, that was a win.
“Plus, if I want to become a subway expert I’m supposed to ride it again, right?”
“I suppose that’s correct.”
“I’m telling you, I know this vegetarian place that has the best eggplant tacos and veggie sushi…” Jackie was commenting when they returned to the dorms.
“Sounds amazing, just let me pick some money from my room and we’ll be ready to go. You can come with me if you want.”
“Alright.”
They climbed the stairs until Jan stopped in her tracks making Jackie almost bump into her.
“Hey, careful there…”
But the brunette was petrified, watching the scene that happened on the very same floor of her dormitory. It took Jackie a moment to locate the event that had caused such commotion but as soon as she saw it, she just wished her friend hadn’t.
There he was, Nathan, the object of her affections, walking out the room of a girl that lived in the building. A different girl, it wasn’t the girl from the first day or another girl she had seen him with before. This was a gorgeous girl –like the others- but there was something different about him -him with her- the way he put the missing lock behind her ear and got closer to press a chaste kiss on her lips, the way they smiled after their lips touched.
Jan felt sick to her stomach, her face got pale and she barely could hold the tears.
The couple returned to the room and right when the door closed, she ran directly to her room. She desperately searched for the keys.
“Jan? Are you…?” Jackie touched her shoulder.
Jan sobbed. “Don’t worry, I’ll be fine… I just… I need to find the keys… it’s like I can’t find them anywhere.” She kept rummaging her backpack without result.
It was too late, she broke into tears, her knees gave in and she ended on the floor.
“I’m sorry, this must look so stupid in comparison to the theatre but… It hurts so badly.” Her voice broke into pieces. “I keep telling myself it’s just another girl but there’s always another girl… It's exhausting.”
“Oh, Jan… no…” Jackie kneeled next to her and embraced her in a hug. “It’s not you.”
“I know that… it will never be me.”
“No, that’s not what I meant.”
She finally found her keys and got up.
“I’m sorry, Jackie. I’ve lost my appetite.” Her voice sounded weak, distant.
“No, wait… you don’t have to be alone right now.” Jackie hurried to stand up.
“I really… really… want to be alone.” She sobbed harder. “I don’t want you to see me like this.” She closed the door on Jackie’s face as soon as she got in.
“Jan!” Jackie knocked on the door. “Jan… please don’t do this. Jan, please… open the door.”
She tried for another five minutes but finally gave up. Jan wasn’t opening the door and the best Jackie could do was texting Rosé hoping the girl would come home earlier to take care of her.
It broke Jackie’s heart to see her like that, especially for a guy like Nathan, one that wasn’t worth the tears.
The following day, it surprised Jackie to find a text message from Jan early in the morning –earlier than any of her classes.
From Jan 🐻: Meet me at Lucky’s before class. It’s important.
Jackie jumped out of bed and rushed to get ready as soon as she read it, after a night of poor sleep she was waiting for that text message.
She walked straight to the diner and found her friend sitting on a table with her computer open and her pink-haired roommate sitting in front of her.
“Hey...” She approached the table.
“Jackie, you’re here!” Jan greeted with the same energetic tone she had –even that early in the morning. Although she looked hyped, the bags under her eyes told a different story.
“Uh… Are you okay?” Jackie asked before taking a seat next to her. She also eyed Rosé who just shrugged.
“Peachy.” She smiled. “Would you like a cup of coffee maybe? Waffles? Pancakes? French toast?”
“The waffles are really good.” Rosé pointed.
“Thanks… I’ll have some eggs maybe but… what’s going on? Yesterday…”
“Yesterday was yesterday and today is today.” Jan gestured with her hands. “I texted you because I have something super important to show you.” She pointed at her computer's screen.
That was it? They were going to pretend the Nathan incident hadn’t happened at all? Well, at least for Jan, that was the case.
“Alright… tell me.”
“So, I did some research and I believe it is possible to save the theatre if we gather enough evidence to prove it has historic importance for the city.” The page of the culture ministry was opened along with at least fifty different tabs on the subject.
“And how exactly are you going to do that?” Jackie raised an eyebrow.
“I was hoping you’d come with an idea since you know the place better than me. Maybe Sophie could tell us some story or we could do our own research.”
Jackie sighed. “I guess it could work but we’d need to invest hours on this and… are you sure you want to do it? I feel like you have a lot on your plate already.”
“Oh no, she devoured the pancakes the second the plate touched the table, trust me.” Rosé assured.
“I was hungry and I didn’t eat them right away, they drew a face with the blueberries so I took a picture and posted it on Instagram first.” She shook her head. “As I was saying, this is important for you, Jackie and I want to help.” She stared at her, hoping she would convince her with those arguments.
“Jan, I’m worried about you.”
“Don’t even try it.” Rosé mumbled. “I already did and she chose to ignore me categorically so I followed her here to make sure she didn’t jump from a bridge or something.”
“She’s also here to hit on my coworker so it’s really a win-win situation.”
They high-fived.
“That’s lovely… but we should talk about what happened last night…”
“There’s nothing to talk about,” Jan stated. “I’m fine.”
“Yeah, I don’t think…”
But Jackie was interrupted by Denali.
“Hi, how’s it going over here? Do you guys want something else?” She had her eyes fixed on her notebook.
“Can I get a cup of Americano and scrambled eggs?” Jackie asked. She needed some coffee to go through it.
“Right away. Do you girls would like something else? More coffee?”
“We’re good.” Jan smiled.
“Oh, Jan, I have your check over there if you want to collect it right now.”
“Thank you, Nali. I’ll be there in a second.”
Rosé cleared her throat. “I’ve been meaning to ask you…”
But it was like the cat had caught the pink-haired girl’s tongue.
“…if you can pour more coffee for me?”
“Sure.” She smiled politely but it was clear that Rosé was melting inside.
Once the waitress left, all the eyes were on Rosé.
“What? I got paralyzed. I can’t do it. I can’t. It is physically impossible for me to ask her out, my body reacts like that.”
“I believe, as science people and Twitter users have once referred to it, that's a case of gay panic. Have you tried in a different way?” Jackie asked before sipping some of Jan’s coffee. “What is this?” She winced.
“Decaffeinated.”
“Ugh…”
“Bitch, I have tried… I even left my number written on a $20 bill when I went to the bathroom earlier, hoping she’d see it but it’s like I’m invisible.”
“That’s not right. Denali loves to flirt and she’s single so I don’t see why she wouldn’t say yes. Oh, I know, you could invite her to the play's opening night.”
Jackie looked at the younger, Jan had dodged the conversation about her but there was no way her friend wasn’t going to dig into it later.
“Maybe I can pave the way for you… find out if she’s having a rough morning or something that affects her response.”
“Would you do that for me?” Rosé didn’t sound so sure about it.
“Of course, I have to pick up my check… my first check here.”
“Congratulations.” Jackie smiled at her.
“Thank you.” She then touched her roommate’s arm. “Leave it to me. I’ll be subtle.”
“Jan…” Before Rosé could say something, she was already heading toward the counter.
“Was it bad?” Jackie asked once the brunette left.
“Girl… You have no idea.” Rosé sighed.
“Thank you, Nali.” Jan held the check proudly in her hands.
“Is your name correct?”
“Yes, it’s perfect.”
“Remember you work tomorrow so have a moderate amount of fun with it and stay away from ice skates and acrylic nails hot sales… Huh… I guess that only applies to me.” Denali turned around.
“Denali… I was wondering…”
The raven-haired girl dropped a pile of napkins.
“Shit. Don’t tell anyone but I forgot to put my contacts on this morning and basically, I can’t see shit without these giant glasses.” She murmured before quickly putting a pair of dark frame glasses on. She grabbed the napkins and after typing something on the computer, took them off immediately.
“Oh… that explains a lot actually…”
“What do you mean?”
Subtle Jan, subtle.
“So my roommate likes you.”
Denali almost tripped. “Wait, what?”
“She’s been trying to ask you out for the past weeks but she feels like you’re ignoring her.”
Denali dragged Jan behind the counter with her and kneeled before putting the glasses back on.
“Which one is your roommate?” She whispered.
“The one with the pink hair that comes here often… is a regular. You can't ignore her she's like one of those anime main characters with the funky hair.”
“Oh my God, Fine Wine is your roommate?”
“What?”
“She’s always singing that Kylie Minogue song and I thought it was a joke since you guys call her Rosé but…”
“That’s her name.”
“Well, she is fine wine.” Denali pushed the glasses up the bridge of her nose. “Are you sure about this?”
“Yeah? She even left a $20 bill with her number as a tip for you?”
“That was her?! I thought it was one of the creepy guys from table six. Oh my God…” She grabbed the jar of tips and started searching for the bill.
“Bitch if I’m missing a single dollar from that jar I swear to God…” Kandy yelled from the other side of the diner.
“Shut up, I’m in the middle of something here…” Finally, she pulled out the bill with pink glitter ink.
“It says XOXO Rosé.”
“What part of «I’m not wearing glasses» you didn't catch?”
"Is that a yes, though?
Denali nodded. She removed the glasses and waved toward their table. “Hey Rosé, if you’re not busy tonight, I’ll call you!”
Rosé blushed instantly but she nodded with a smile on her face.
Jackie, behind her, just shook her head, acknowledging that the shenanigans of her friend had worked out once again.
