Hi there. The name’s Cupcake. he/him, adult. I use this blog mostly to reblog memes, fandom stuff, and social justice stuff. You will also see the occasional rant. My main fandoms right now are MCYT, Spider-verse, The Owl House, and a few more. These change constantly. Icon is a Minecraft bee plushie on a white background. My header is Stan and Stanford from Gravity Falls pulling out weapons to fight.

At DILF in leeds tonight, some cis guy clocked me, made a comment like, "this event is for MEN who are GAY, good luck."
We then watched him waste half his night telling his friends, then random ppl, about a trans man being present and pointing at me, and all of those ppl go "um... Ok?" and not care
Like I'm sorry that while i was just sort of bopping and having a good time, you were doing that, i guess?
Would have thought a white man with such a badly inked "tribal" tattoo would be an avid defender of bodily autonomy tbh but that's none of my business

There are three rules:
1. If you do not go after what you want, you will never have it.
2. If you do not ask, the answer will always be no.
3. If you do not step forward, you will remain in the same place.

Did I miss something or are they doing product placement in novels now? Both my partner and I recently each read a new (ie, published in the last few years) fiction book. Normally he and I tend to read non-fiction or fiction that is a bit older, so maybe we're both just not used to tropes and commonalities in modern pulp fiction, but the fact that each of the books we read - written by different authors, and ostensibly different genres - featured pivotal scenes set in a Dunkin' Donuts just feels like weird product placement. Again, maybe its just that we both tend towards older fiction and aren't used to more modern writing styles (although I should caveat here that my fiance is a writer so maybe this doesn't apply to him as much), but we both had trouble taking either of our books seriously after noticing how much modern product placement was featured for no apparent reason. Apparently there was a whole scene in my partner's novel where the character was comparing prices of furniture at IKEA before having a problem resolved by using the Starbucks app on their phone.
Idk, maybe its just us being old and pretentious, but I do find it a little distracting to be in the center of a pivotal scene only for the book to take a quick little aside to remind me this is all happening at a Dunkin' Donuts.

oh my god god god god god my dad just tried to complain about me wearing earrings with ghosts on them because they're "not very festive" so i said Well Actually ghosts are very appropriate for christmastime and he said tell you what if you can show me a single christmas themed thing that has ghosts in it i won't say another word about your fashion choices this entire holiday. i Promise. so i got him to lean in realllllll close as i opened up the browser app on my phone and slowly began to type "A CHRISTMAS CAROL" while the blood rapidly drained from his face.

Anybody has that political cartoon of an angry rich man watching TV while his servants are all sneaking peeks at it during their work and smiling? A bunch of googling resulted in nothing.
I believe the original context was Bernie Sanders winning some primaries but I feel like it's even more relevant nowadays.

I really hate to do this but I really gotta ask y'all for some help here. We're trying to save up for my partner's testosterone and top surgery cause his mental health is being absolutely destroyed by dysphoria but life just keeps shooting us in the foot with unexpected costs whenever we get a small boost so we're running out of options to get him sorted before his mental health gets much worse.
We've researched the cheapest safe way to get this done and it's looking like it's gonna cost us about £6k more than we've got saved. If anyone could spare anything to help a disabled kinky furry artist get comfortable in his own skin it would be 100% appreciated!
He's happy to draw your OCs/sonas in any situation you're wanting or to make y'all ref sheets (just not bodily waste related situations pls) in return for your donations! His Instagram is @build_a_wolf if y'all are interested in commissions from him or mine is @eattherichart if y'all want crochet commissions

Begging people to stop conceptualizing transmasc invisibility as "Bigots forget we exist so we don't get targeted. We are granted safety in anonymity" and instead as "When we're specifically targeted by bigots and systems of oppression, non-transmascs respond by making a different group (usually cis) the focus of discussion, our history is erased or attributed to cis women, and our experiences with masculinity are flattened to be indistinguishible from cis men in an ill-informed attempt at affirmation."

Trans Kids Deserve Better are occupying Wes Streeting's Office at Ilford North (London). London folx, get down there and support!
Today young activists from Trans Kids Deserve Better established an encampment outside the constituency office of Wes Streeting the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care.
The decision to take up camp outside his office was made after the health secretary announced the permanent ban on the prescription of puberty blockers in the House of Commons.
The ban, based on the widely discredited Cass Review has stripped trans+ youth of one of the only sources of medical care that we have access to, including from private providers.
"Wes Streeting has chosen politics over our lives. We are being put through an experiment, but the experiment is to deny us healthcare, not to provide it. He wants to see what happens to us when we grow up permanently altered in ways we never wanted, and we never consented to be part of that." - Grin
