I don't know who would read it but it tickles *my* brain and that's enough.#No spoilers for DE (here or in comments (please)) but please consider....Magpie Wei Wuxian B*) On his way to be an innocent.#I do think there is a good chance a chunk of the MDZS readership would enjoy DE but...it's also not a game I easily recommend#It's more of an experience you have to marinate over. It's dark in ways that are off putting to some people.#It makes you feel like a very bad person all the time. It gets extremely personal if you allow yourself to be honest in your answers#and it's also the game that saved my life. Me, gasping awake: "Omg, I haven't thought about Rosinante in days!"
My brain: "No worries fam, here's a huge CoraHawk fake dating fix it AU."
Me: "Thank you :)"
*10 minutes later*
Me: "But you know we can't have Mihawk without Shanks, especially if this is set during their duelling times, and also I think Shanks and Rosinante would get on like a house on fire--"

Magnificent Nature: The Hammerhead
Okay, You’re A Shark Conservationist…..
There’s a question I get asked so many times when I bring up what I do for a living, and it seems like it’s always the same thing. “Why does a hammerhead's head look like a hammer, and what is it used for?”
Well, I'm going to do more than just write a research paper on it, that's for sure. I’m going to tell you everything about this fantastic shark species, and why they’re my favorite out of all sharks in the ocean.
The Visible Truth
10 times out of 10 you can spot which shark is a hammerhead, and it all comes down to its name, as well as the simple fact that this shark does indeed have a head like a hammer. So, what is it used for, and how can this oddly shaped head lead to a shark’s survival?
The Head
The head of a hammerhead shark is called a cephalofoil, this helps provide lift making it easier and more efficient to move instead of swimming upright like other predators. This ‘cephalofoil’ or head, helps the shark make quick turns and pin their food to the seafloor. However, this behavior isn’t documented through the lens of a camera.
Unlike most sharks who have their eyes facing forward, a hammerhead’s eyes are widely separated, connecting to the cephalofoil at the sides. This drastic change in appearance, makes the hammerhead have a wider view of the sea rather than its relatives, who only see at a certain angle. In total a hammerhead shark can see 360 degrees around its body, like a panoramic camera. However, these creatures cannot see in-front of them.
They can sense what?!
This hammer head also contains electroreceptor pores, called Ampullae of Lorenzini. These pores help sense electrical waves in the ocean, and make it easier to hunt down and locate prey. It should also be known that the hammerhead has the most electroreceptor pores than any other shark, and these are just in it’s head!
These electroreceptor pores are extremely sensitive and can detect as small as 5 billionths volt per square centimeter. Which is why when humans tend to swim in the ocean, and splash around, sharks can be spotted. A single splash from a single person at the beach can reach a hammerhead’s pores in less than 3 minutes.
A splash to us, is just a splash. However, a splash to a shark means a struggling fish, leading to possible attacks or encounters.
How do they Hunt, though?
A hammerhead’s head can help this creature roll over and swim sideways, to save energy for big hunts. How amazing is that? When hunting these species of shark typically hunt alone, and can be found in temperate or tropical waters all around the world.
These sharks are very social creatures, they form a school of hundreds of hammerheads at a time, but by dawn (which is typically when a hammerhead hunts) they go their separate ways until it is time to have a nice family gathering.
Hammerhead’s can communicate with each other by simply moving their bodies in a certain way, whether that means a change in weather, prey scouting, or migration. Their prey includes a variety of fish such as; bony fish, crustaceans, batoids, and mollusks. However their preferred prey are animals such as; stingrays, octopus and lobsters.
Migration and Mating
Some populations of hammerheads move pole-ward during the winter, however females tend to migrate offshore earlier than males, and return to the same sites to pup (give birth) once they reach maturity.
These magnificent females can give birth to up to 50 pups all at once, and their pregnancy typically lasts for 8 to 10 months. Some of this species can even give “virgin births’.
Final Thoughts
I love talking about this species, as they are the most sought out for their fins. And in my personal opinion, one of the most cool looking sharks in the open ocean as of today. (Slightly beating the goblin shark.)
I hope you learned something, and as always RESPECT THE LOCALS!

You think Crocodile's gonna blow his stack when he finds out how shitty Luffy's upbringing was? His baby boy repeatedly got tossed into the jungle to fend for himself against wild animals, as well as off cliffs and left to float into the fucking air on balloons all courtesy of Garp. He got left alone for long periods of time possibly as early as infancy, also cuz of Garp. And oh yeah, he was tortured by pirates, almost burned to death in a giant garbage fire, and went through the trauma of losing a brother.
Like, no matter how stern or distant of a parent Crocodile may be, I don't think he would be content to stand by and let any of that happen to baby Luffy. Also also, Crocodile witnessed firsthand Garp impeding Luffy's attempts to rescue Ace. The Cross Guild wants Garp for his bounty. Crocodile wants Garp for REVENGE.
With Garp I feel like it could go either way because like, let's be real for a second
This is 100% played for laughs.
Like if we're being serious then yes, in the Very Real World this is absolutely child neglect and abuse, Garp's parenting would NEVER fly (🥁) in our Very Real World. But just like Nami can physically abuse Luffy and co for laughts and get away with it, Garp's "training" is very much the same tonally, a Cartoon Slapstick Gag (made even more obvious when Toei animated Baby Luffy flying off into the sky going "UGYAAAAA" (that clip lives in my head rent free it's so funny??)) and a reflection of how this ridiculous old man (who might've been through even more ridiculous training in his childhood) views how a small child can be trained.
And so like. I could imagine Crocodile being like "who the fuck does that to a small child, are you insane" at Garp if he found out how Garp had been raising Luffy, but I think whatever reaction Crocodile might have would be played just as much for laughs as Garp's original comments were
Like IDK if Crocodile and Garp did have a relationship I think it would end up being similar to how Zoro and Sanji interact. Like Crocodile would to some degree be indebted to Garp because Garp did look after his son when he couldn't, and Garp wouldn't have a precious grandson (whom Garp sincerely does love, deeply) without Crocodile, so like. I think there could be like this mutual respect and gratitude for the other. But also it'd be kind of a begrudging gratitude and they would also hate each others guts and what they stand for and probably bicker. Lots. But in a funny way. (Like Zoro and Sanji)
Also I feel like even if Crocodile personally hated Garp's guts I don't think Crocodile would ever try anything to harm Garp. Like he saw how Luffy absolutely shattered after losing Ace, so even if Luffy and Garp's relationship wasn't the strongest, if Luffy loves his grandpappy then I don't think Crocodile would want to take his son's only grandfather, his family, away. Crocodile isn't in any kind of position to "take revenge" on the man who did look after his son for him (even if his methods were questionable at times) (Same for Dadan and the bandits too arguably)
The convenient thing of me letting this ask sit in my ask box for 20 days before actually responding is that I managed to post this thing the other day, and I want to continue an observation from that post; While I do agree Crocodile would probably be horrified to find out about all shit Luffy went through as a child... In the end, what's happened has happened, and I think Crocodile might believe that if he had wanted to ensure his son wouldn't have to go through things like that, then he should've raised the child himself. That Luffy's childhood not being all sunshine and rainbows is kind of his fault.
#Moon posting#OP Meta#Crocodad#I'm like this 🤏 close to writing a meta post about Garp and his actions in Marineford because. I love that problematic grandpa#But also I do feel like Garp is misunderstood by a lot of the fandom. NOT in a “Garp was right actually” kinda way!!!!!!#But like. I feel like a lot of people think Garp is comparable to Judge and Big Mom but (Marine Flavored) when HE'S REALLY NOT#Sidenote but I'd be curious to find out how Crocodile feels about Shanks 1) Being responsible for Luffy eating his Devil Fruit#2) Shanks being the one who inspired Luffy to become a pirate (like his daddy) (instead of a stinky Marine like his grandpappy)#3) Shanks literally saving Luffy's life at the cost of his arm. Like.#Like ohhhhh I wanna know how Crocodile would feel about Shanks. It feels like a juicy relationship right there.

💙🦈 WORLD SHARK AWARENESS DAY!! 💙🦈
Did you know??
Sharks, one of our planet’s oldest species with fossils dating back over 400 million years, have played a pivotal role in marine ecosystems far longer than we have existed on Earth.
Deemed a keystone species, sharks exert such a profound influence on their habitats that their absence would dramatically alter the entire ecosystem. As apex predators, they stand at the pinnacle of the food chain, crucially maintaining the balance of marine life by regulating prey populations. Sharks control species abundance, distribution, and diversity, which reciprocally affects the health of marine habitats.
Organizations worldwide, like the Shark Conservation Fund, are striving to protect sharks directly. Others, such as Blue Ventures and Saving the Blue, indirectly work towards their protection by safeguarding marine habitats and engaging coastal communities.
