FFXV photo diaries part one

My best friends recently convinced me to play FFXV by pitching it to me as "polyam boys road trip" and predicting I would like Gladio bc "he's the daddy". Boy were they not wrong on either counts :')

I am absolutely in love with this game and it's only been 2 days since I started playing (currently 8 hours in).

Also yes, most of the pictures are of Noct + Gladio bc hoLY HELL?! So far Prompto has been giving me such cinnamon roll little bro vibes and Ignis has temporarily become "the chauffeur guy w/ major servicing energy"

nyx is a vampire, his village was attacked. His mother was killed but him and his sister were bitten but they managed to get away.... but his sister couldn’t handle it...so she didn’t make it. 

Nyx was struggling but he could control his urges, he was actually taken in by a vampire hunter, Regis. He is head of his clan...he knew Nyx was a vampire but took him in anyway because he saw the potential. It came with its ups and downs but Nyx became in debt to him and promised to watch over his son. 

Nyx watches over Noctis to keep him safe and out of trouble, which comes with its troubles because its Noctis we’re talking about... He has prompto and the boys to get him in/out of trouble. 

poor nyx has his work cut out for him, god forbid its a new moon...and thats when he has to go away from everyone because his urges get alittle wild. He also suffers with trauma from his village and sister too... oof

aside from angst, vampire nyx acting as a vampire hunter and body guard to protect Noctis. And he has to fight other vamps, werewolves and other dark entities...but he prevails. 

sliding in my oc because reasons,

she’d be a vampire hunter/ mercenary, she was tasked with kidnapping the prince for money. She was bored and had nothing better to do so she accepted it, course she didn’t count on running into nyx. 

They crossed blows and she found out he was a vampire, of course she lost their little battle and was locked up. He later comes and questions her, why didn’t she snitch on him. 

she simply states that would be a dirty win, she could have done that....but she likes fair fights. though human to vampire fight...isn’t really fair. 

stuff happens and she gets a chance to redeem herself, but she’s warned and she blows it off. Noctis’s home is attacked and things happen.. Noctis is taken and Nyx’s little secret is blown..but not by her. 

so thus begins a quest of nyx, my oc and few dorks as they try to retrieve noctis.... Oh yeah prompto has collected a shite ton of garlic and stakes so just incase nyx tries something he’ll stabby stabby.

Noctis's ears twitch, his lips pressing into a line as the kid goes on. And on. And on. Until eventually, something occurs to her which is apparently enough to stop her: the thought of potential violence? Well, that's a little concerning for a child...

The prince exhales, his shoulders relaxing as he folds his arms.

❝ I mean — yeah, I've got one, but I'm not gonna use it on a kid, ❞ he clarifies, changing his tune a little. ❝ ...That doesn't make any of what you just said okay. But I'm not gonna pull a sword on you just because of some dumb prank. It's gonna take a lot more than that to get me to start swinging at someone. ❞

Mind you, Ogerpon, that's not an invitation to try and get him to that point. He's more just curious why the hell weapons were the first thing your mind went to.

No, Noctis. She isn’t listening at all, seemingly dozing off right there on the floor. L, Ratio, and Meow.

She wakes up half a second later, cracking one eye open to look at him upon his indignant exclamation. And she only gives him a catlike, sly smile.

‘Are you upset? Are you gonna meow about it again? Meowmeowmeowmeow-‘

She hops up again, swaying happily. Clearly, she was emboldened by this new territory. Not being labeled as some kind of deadly threat, she blended right in! It put her in a great mood! An unfortunately… very mischievous mood.

‘You’re funny! So angry! Usually people get out weapons when they’re upset, but not you! You just make a funny meow! Ha ha!’

A pause.

‘Wait, you don’t have a weapon, do you?’ She’s only just now considering potential ramifications of being a gremlin.

This wasn't my smartest decision, but I decided to toy around with Shin a little more. I kept quiet. I put up my poker face, pretending that his torment didn't affect me. I can endure it. The church put me through worse. However, Shin gradually became more aggressive each time. (1) Until he'd grown tired from my lack of reaction. It didn't take long until I was tossed aside, like a broken doll. He stormed out of the room, dissatisfied that he didn't get the reaction he wanted. Biting through the pain, I rose back to my feet and ೃ⁀➷SMILED. He has yet to realize that I'm the one in ೃ⁀➷CONTROL.

ーMonologue ENDー

(1) Noctis is referring to the time the vampire hunters put their trainees, including herself, through brutal training in order to prepare them for the kind of torment vampires can put them through.

A/N: Damn that dialogue was long, but it was so much fun! In contrast to Shin, Noctis tries to control Shin psychologically. She mostly succeeds, but it always comes with the cost of getting injured. In the Dark Chapters, she goes through trial and error and tests various things to see how she can push his buttons in her favor. Sometimes her attitude gets the best of her and she gets in trouble with Carla and Shin because she can't keep her damn mouth shut and lets a sassy remark slip 😭

Hii it’s been a while! I came back with a new fic from Final Fantasy XV! this is my first time writing a fic for ffxv, I hope you all like it! 🤍

It’s back to school time and you found out that you and Noctis are not in the same class. He could ask to change but you didn’t let him because it would leave a bad impression of him at school for using his title. It took a little convincing for him to eventually agree with you. At least we have language class, economics and PE together. It’s nor that bad, we see each other during breaks and lunch time.

Right now, you’re in history class with the most boring teacher. Noct accompanied you in front of the class early, so you could have your moment with him without anyone disturbing you both. You’re also not keen on showing affection in front of others at the beginning of your relationship. You didn’t want to attract people’s attention on you both or getting jealous looks from those girls. Some would try to corner you at a secluded place and bully you. That almost happened if Noctis didn’t come to save you in time, you would be done for. This happened once and never happened again. Hurting the Crown Prince’s significant other is asking for a death wish.

So now, Noctis doesn’t give a crap about what others think about him simply showing affection to his significant other. They should understand that cause he didn’t and almost never used his title to tell someone off or at teachers.

During the whole history class, your mind has just been on Noctis and him alone. Your cramps and back pain were not helping as you were writing your thoughts on your notebook as the teacher talked. Your forearm was placed next to your cheek as you lean on it and write down your thoughts or doodling little flowers. while awaiting your next class with your beloved prince.

In the most boring class again… this teacher is quite annoying, a little better than my girlfriend’s I think. I wonder how she is doing, I heard her back pain has been troubling her. I wish I could help ease her pain and hold her hand under our desk.

This teacher is so sassy and direct, and it’s pissing me off a little. I concentrate better with her here, the gentle rubs she gives when she wants my attention on her but I’m already looking at her. The way her hand fits perfectly with mine The way her eyebrows are knitted together when she’s focused. The way she lets me know that her attention is also on me when she’s focused during work. She always includes me in everything she does and it makes me feel like I’ve always been there with her and it makes me feel warm inside.

Hailing from a long line of kannushi and miko, Manaka is one who channels spirits and speaks with the yokai of her world. In an attempt to practice magic beyond her, however, she ended up bonding herself to a karasutengu who feeds off of the energies of joy and happiness, leaving her feeling more of the negative feelings than not. She has been on a journey, claiming herself as an aruki miko as she searches for any answers to break her bond.

Born to the noble House Chorus, Primam grew up alongside Prince Noctis and the others that were to become the future of Insomnia -- the future Lucian Council. A prodigy in the art of magic, Primam has a penchant for ice magic, able to cast strong Blizzard spells when needed. Generally soft spoken and kind, Primam tends not to want to cause conflict because of her trauma at home already.

Nomin tal Kheeriin :: FFXIV

The Warrior of Light who was originally born to the tribe of Tumet. Overcoming her trial, Nomin was soon taken in by the Sagahl shortly after she declared her name. Initially reluctant to bear the title of 'Adventurer', let alone 'Warrior of Light', Nomin sees her achievements and accomplishments with a sense of pride that needed to be fostered and nurtured into what it is now. Venturing forward with a sense of closure and greater acceptance of self, Nomin is happy to finally have a sense of peace and quiet, not to mention is more than happy to explore her relationship with the person she's come to love.

a masterpost of reasons why this blog does not support the English dub of Final Fantasy XV:

- unlike the other localization teams who stayed faithful to the Japanese script as best as they could, XV's English localization team made a conscious decision to ignore the game's original script after a certain point, basically changing whatever they wanted and rewriting the dialogue as they pleased.

- the localization director even chose specific archetypes to morph the characters into in order to create more "familiar" dynamics that might appeal more to western players (and make the game sell more in the west).

- this caused a huge shift in characterizations for all of the main characters between the original and the English dub, but especially Ignis and Gladio, who are almost completely different people depending on which version you play.

- while original Japanese Ignis is soft-spoken, humble, and sincere; English dub Ignis is a sassy butler stereotype who makes lame puns and bullies Prompto because he can.

- likewise, while original Japanese Gladio is a friendly and respectable big bro, his English dub counterpart is a crass meathead stereotype (which caused a sizeable chunk of the western fandom to hate him).

- while none of these changes are things i condone or agree with, they would have been tolerable if English-speaking fans still had a choice to view the original script. but we didn't, because the western release of the game didn't include it. if you own an English copy of XV, even while playing with Japanese audio, the text will always just be the rewritten dub script (which causes confusion if you know even just a hint of Japanese, because so many lines have been so blatantly changed). this means that western fans who want to know what's being said, must find outside sources to translate and create subtitles, which should not be necessary.

- in short: XV's English localization team rewrote the game and characters at their own discretion, creating a very different narrative for the dub, even going so far as to directly contradict themselves at times. this was not only a show of (in my opinion) incredible arrogance, but also blatant disrespect for both the fans and the original Japanese writers.

- and it goes deeper than just the script, because context was bent to match the English localization team's changes, with little tricks like altering facial expressions in the dub version, such as this infamous example of Ardyn during the (very pivotal) Chapter 14.

- the dub also ignores the game's lore and official texts, for example changing Ignis' lines in his DLC to make it sound as though he is in love with someone canonically confirmed to be a family member to him.

- even Noctis' famous words during the final campfire scene were changed in the dub, from a heartfelt "I love all of you guys...!" to "You guys...are the best." in fact, most of XV's popularly repeated lines in the western fandom were made up for the dub.

in conclusion: this issue goes beyond a simple difference of preference when it comes to voice actors, because one version of the game can be considered canon, while the other (based on the evidence outlined above) legitimately cannot.

How would the Ganondorfs (Wind Waker, Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess, Hyrule Warriors, and Tears of the Kingdom) & Demise react to their SO singing "GUY.exe" by Superfruit?

Top 10 favourite characters?

FINAL FANTASY MUNDAY MEME! || Accepting

Hmmm. It's hard to rank them but I will try.

Fray & Sidurgu (FF14): I'm cheating immediately and lumping together my Dark Knight class husbands because I can. Also heavily influenced by @aethericsea's interpretations, but whatever. For Fray, I love a slight-obsessed-with-you dark side vaugely self-cesty ghost that scolds you when you don't take care of yourself. The Dark Knight quests are so healing for the WoL. It is the closest thing you get to actual therapy. Leading into my adoration for Sidurgu -- he is just a good guy. Does he fuck up? Yes. I love me some guys who fuck up and try to do better. He also has such faith in the WoL and such empathy for them. Like when you go back post-EW and check in, he's like "wow that sounds unbelievable but it's you so I understand." I'll tag Rielle in here as well, because I just love her story as well, and how she changes from a quiet, traumatized child into a sassy apple-eating healer who calls Sidurgu a chocobo's arse. I have so many feelings about the DRK fam you guys.

Garnet (FF9): Garnet/Dagger, my girl! Was I biased because she was the closest FF protag lass who looked like me? Yes. Am I still biased for that reason? Yes. But also, again (as I'll say 100x below), I adored her journey. I loved her dedication to her people, I loved her Mulan moment, I enjoyed her learning to be more formal through Zidane. I loved that she fucking drugged everyone's food and jumped from a tower and enjoyed the hell out of it. She's just so much fun even though I don't believe she would have worn a bodysuit THAT TIGHT. Praying every day for a FF9 remake announcement.

Zidane (FF9): Sorry Thancred, you were knocked out of the Top 3 by the original flirty blond rogue. FF7 was my first Final Fantasy, but 9 was the one I fell in love with. I appreciated Zidane's more upbeat and scrappy attitude, and of course, he was far from perfect (i.e flirting with the girl in the bar and then fucking up and mentioning it to Garnet) and had his whole questioning his existing thing. He's just really fun, damn it.

Thancred (FF14): Thancred is a fucking mess. I am partially biased towards him because of @aethericsea's interpretation, but a lot of it pulls from canon anyway. Again, I adore his growth and the journey he takes, his relationship with Minfilia, his struggles with what's obviously depression with a hint of alcoholism, and the fact that despite getting the cool animations, he still gets clowned on.

Alphinaud (FF14): Alphinaud barely has the step above Alisaie in this ranking, and only because of his shift from ARR into Heavensward. Alphinaud changes from a bratty snoot who sends WoL around like a living weapon to truly loving them like family. He is so mature and respectful and I love it when he sees his earlier mistakes in others.

Alisaie (FF14): Alisaie's growth is more subtle than Alphinaud's, but I love the balance she brings. She feels like a genuine teenager more than Alphinaud does sometimes and I adore her vulnerability. I also love her calling the villains out, even if it makes me panic from time to time for her safety.

Tataru (FF14): Tataru is such a supportive friend to the WoL and just an excellent 'run the house while you adventure' NPC. I am SO glad they play into her boss babe entrepreneur mentality as the story proceeds.

Cloud (FF7/7R): I respect the impact FFVII had on gaming. The original 7 was the first Final Fantasy I ever played and what inspired me to want to be a game designer! Plus, like Noctis, I appreciate Cloud being 100% done with everyone. Sadly, never beat 7. I beat 7R though!

Rikku (FFX/X-2): Again, didn't play a lot of X and it has been like 20 years since I played X-2, but I adore her. What a girl's girl.

Noctis (FFXV): The only reason Noctis is down at #10 is because I haven't played FFXV personally, but I've seen clips with him via @starrymused and I appreciate his attitude. Someone just let the man fish and not be a protagonist.

I HAVE BEEN THINKING(!!!)

About the FF characters that I want to turn up in KH4 and what their purpose would be.

Ignis (FFXV) - very simply he is kind of the one who looks out for sora and Strelitzia. Maybe he serves under Yazora in a similar way to how he served under Noctis. He’s a great fighter, he would cook for them and he’d be the one with the wise words when things get iffy.

Genesis Rhapsodus (FFVII Crisis core.) - maybe he’d be a BBEG maybe he’d be a morally grey character that sora encounters and is confused by. Either way I think he would be a nice battle option to mirror Cloud and Sephiroths role in KH1-2. He could come down quoting Loveless. It would be great! (Speaking of which I desperately want a Loveless billboard in Quadratum. Just a tiny nod.)

Barrat! (FFVII) - I just need him, okay??!! I’d want him to be like the gruff but affectionate dad character like he is with Marlene. He gets real protective over Sora and even gets between Yazora and Sora on days when the former is pushing him too hard. He’s exactly as brilliant as he is in ffvii and I just need him in KH. K?

Lulu (FFX) - bitchy dark mages for the win. She would be so sassy and cool and probably end up having a battle of wills with Sora about stuff.

Prompto (FFXV) - for no other reason other than he’s Prompto. Also I feel like he’d be the perfect person to empathise with Sora about his insecurities and help him regain his confidence. He’d be there for him and get people to lay off calling him stupid. I dunno man I feel like Prompto would be a really good and kind influence on sora. Plus I’d get to see my chocobaby in a KH game.

I don’t know man, I’ll probably come up with more as the day goes on, but let me know who you’d like to see?

I started posting sketches of Noct without properly introducing him so ashofidsha hERE WE GO LOL

Noctis / Noct is one of the main characters of my comic, specifically for the sequel! His pronouns are he / they and he's non-binary! He's one of Max's best friends, and he's gone through some shit that he will not elaborate on 😬 (He also hates Orion and is so so mean to him lol) He's super polite, quiet, extremely sarcastic and sassy (most of the time without realizing it), sweet, and struggles with a LOT of anxiety. He also is extremely powerful, but I'm gonna keep his powers a secret for right now haha

His associated color is purple (though he actually hates that color) and he's associated with stars and constellations! I think his emoji is this one 🌌 but I don't remember haha

The first sketch is the first concrete design I had for him, but I'm currently in the process of redesigning him – he looks too babey in the first design, so I want to make him look a bit more like a teenager. That being said, I'll probably use the first design for his initial appearance in the comic and then his main design will be the second sketch!
