"Blindness", José Saramago

Addictive, blunt, revolting and, especially, totally plausible.

This book reminded me of the fragility of society and human life itself. While it's unlikely that we're hit by a generalized, unknown blindness, there's so many other catastrophes that have happened and that most certainly will happen in the future.

We need to value the things we have now before they're gone. And when they are, we'll have to stick together if we want to go far. In the long run, evil doesn't pay.

Be kind, respectful, helpful while it's easy, and maybe you'll find the strength in you to do what's right when it's hard.

This book is truly a masterpiece.

Les voy a exponer una teoría que tengo sobre la lectura que no es muy popular, incluso podría decirse que no es políticamente correcta. Y es que la lectura no es obligatoria.Leer no es obligatorio.Puedo preguntarle a un chico, “Mira, ¿y tú por qué no lees?, ¿no te gusta leer?”. Y él podrá decir, “No, no me gusta”.
