Happy Father’s Day-Sasuke

This was super quick today, with very little details but I always end up liking these. Doing a scratch a day for Father’s Day week. I have 4 more naru-verse fathers and a bonus dad this week so stick around to see them!

Side note: H pitched a fit when I drew this. He said Sasuke wasn’t a real dad and well yeah, duh. He wasn’t there at this age but that’s why it’s FANART. -_- Low key, Sasuke seems like a pretty good dad though. Happy Father’s Day, we salute you Sasuke.

I just needed this off my mind, haha.

I feel like Sarada shouldn't already want to become hokage so early on. She should be the main character honestly, but whatever. With the Uchiha clan massacre having been a staged event, why not have her feel sort of removed from the leaf village? Her Father, Sasuke Uchiha, is just as much a mystery as her clans hidden past. Let her inherit the weight and guilt of being an Uchicha and let her come to terms dealing with it. Let her want to become Hokage be something she truly and desperately seeks to elevate herself and her fallen clan. I want to see her battle with these secrets and to feel alone. I want Sasuke to console her and guide her. I want Sarada to become lost in the way Sasuke was. Let Sasuke be the one to make that promise to Sakura. Let the Otsutsuki befriend her and manipulate her. Let her friends and family weigh on her mind and burden her heart. She has such an interesting history that led to her being there. Let her wonder about what her lost family would do, and let her learn it isn't always up to what you want. Yes, the leaf is healing. It's peace time but that doesn't erase the past. It doesn't forgive. All that's left is to decide what to do and understand that no choice is without price.

We follow the manga until Sarada runs to meet Sasuke. She is so excited and kind of out of breathe. Sarada looks around for a bit and notices a man sitting and leaning against a pillar. A flicker of recognition flutters in her (Sasuke being there for her first few years of life??) she steps forward "Fa-" a sword is thrown at her and Sauske appears in front of her in a instant...and it follows the manga until Sakura comes to the resue! She runs to Sarada, hugging her tightly relieved she is okay. Sakura turns, walks toward Sasuke and says nothing.

From Sarada's vantage point all she sees is Sasuke's unreadable expression as he turns away. This makes her angry! "This is the first time you've seen your wife in years and that's how you treat her! Turning away like she means nothing to you! How can you-" before she can continue her rant. Shin tries to capture Sarada, but Sakura pushes her out of the way and is taken instead.

We go to Orochimaru where Sarada goes into the hideout, (instead of that stupid mother plotline) and walks around. Hoping to cross paths with someone...and it's Suigetsu! He says "Oh, Mini-Sasuke! What's up?" Sarada runs up and asks what he knows about her father! Asking a bunch of questions, before he can answer...Naruto steps in and places a hand on her shoulder. They have that same family talk from the manga. Cut to ChoCho and Sasuke: where she offers her chips to him (this scene is the same as the original but I just moved it later in the story) Finally it follows the manga after this. (except Sakura actually wins against her fight with Shin and they are gearing up for round two when the others arrive.)

(Also, reiterating we don't use that stupid plotline of Sarada doubting if Sakura is her real mother)

Sarada doesn't know how long Sasuke will stay in the village. She stuffs down her anger in order to enjoy these few hours with both her parents. Apprehensive that Sasuke will leave if she doesn't come across as a happy daughter.

Before he leaves, she let's some of her some sadness with a lot anger show up on her face. "Don't disappear again" Sasuke pulls her into a quick hug, then smiles sadly at her.

They don't start to repair their relationship until the chunnin exams redo, when they speak about what it means to be a ninja. (This is where Sasuke head pokes Sarada) Imagine the family day episode between Sasuke and Sarada, but it extended into a whole arc instead of one episode.

I didn't know where to put this, but you learn later on when Sakura turned to Sasuke during the Shin Arc (before she was captured) Sakura reaches for and lightly grabs her husband's hand. She looks at him with tears, anger, love, annoyance and relief that he is okay. Sasuke looks back at her, feeling bad for making Sakura have such conflicting emotions cross her face.

Also! Sakura doesn't forgive Sasuke right away for basically abandoning her to raise THEIR DAUGHTER by herself. So in my version, Sasuke has to work really hard to get back into her favor.

Also, also!! I'm thinking about rewriting Sakura and the Uzumaki family dynamic (at least the start of Boruto)
