i remember a chatter telling sapnap that george was about to cry during the vegas panel and sapnap was like “i don’t believe you” like mannnn dream really is the only one who gets to see george so emotionally vulnerable and we see glimpses of it when he’s trying so hard to hold it back

Idk but in my head I think Goethe would freeze up the first time Dream cries in front of him. He obviously knows how to comfort Dream over a phone, but he’s in person now and he can see how his shoulders shake and how he’s hiding his face in whatever is closest (his hands, his sweatshirt, a blanket).

But, as they get used to each other in America, George learns.

He learns that, when dreams crying from frustration, he has to pull him away from whatever’s bothering him (usually the computer) and help him calm down by speaking low and letting him stim to get some of the energy out. If dreams yanking at his hair, he’ll let him hold his hands instead, or he’ll start to comb through Dream’s hair to help soothe him. No matter the start, it always ends with Dream laying on top of George as he slows down.

He learns that when Dream’s crying from sadness, it’s an immediate go ahead to touch. It’s pulling him close, wrapping him up in a blanket, hugging him tight, whatever can make him understand that George is here and isn’t going anywhere until Dream feels a little bit better. It also means George sends a discrete text to Sapnap asking whatever the fuck happened that made Dream this sad if George doesn’t know

Finally, George learns how to handle a happy cry. To pull Dreams hands away from his face. To smile and say “you dork” and wipe at the tears. To show him that it’s okay to be so happy you cry, to let it all out, to just be.

sapnap is like a guy you meet at like 3 am at a party where everyone is like the stage of drunk where youre getting kinda sad and hes telling you about his life and youre like. drunkenly telling him to fix his life and hes like sadly agreeing with all your points and understanding but you know he wont do anything about it. except hes a multimillionare.

He wouldn’t be that emotionally vulnerable. He’s the guy you meet at a party and see him out the window throwing up in a bush alone two hours later

But yeah, I love that about him. I mean for one of the best fighters to also be one of the most emotionally vulnerable and perceptive to other feelings and things going on. And like his balance of when to make space for someone and a serious moment and when to lighten the mood, just trying to meet the needs and also his awareness of other people and his attention to detail. His concern for Ranboo that he doesn’t know what is in his own notebook and in prison the way he calls things out - “you gotta raise your standards, man,” “you’re just gettin’ treated like dirt out here”… etc the way he acknowledges the elephant in the room even if he does so with comedy, it still shows such care and concern for his friends.

Honestly, my favorite is when he sees Dream go into the lava and responds, “That is not healthy behavior. Alright? I think you should see a psychologist.” Because Dream does that in front of other people too and yet Techno I’m fairly sure is the only one to point out the mental piece. Sapnap and Bad I believe were like hey don’t do that, but Techno acknowledges the root and reasoning and is able to both validate Dream and call it out… anyways I ramble, he’s just so wholesome :)

Found out Techno started a book club today [clip]. :)

Was gonna say I love how pro mental health and feelings he is but…. then I just imagined them all writing fanfic to post to Wattpad lol. Hence, why he was trying to get Dream to be more open about his fanfiction in prison so he could join the book club when he got out. XD LOL

c!techno really did just want to have a book club but everyone kept creating governments and messing that up for him, tsk tsk.

but it's actually funny how open techno is about feelings and whatnot. he struggles when it's a very serious or dark/upsetting subject matter because he's not sure how to handle it but he truly does his best when it comes down to it. i love that about him.

"Here, I'll take it." 

He gently lifts your thumbs off the screen, slowly sliding your phone out of your palms and into his left hand. Letting you clutch your hands back around his right hand. His fingers. His presence. 

He slips the phone into his back pocket, before bending down in front of you. 

"Sssh, Sssh, it's okay. It's okay, I'm here now."

His left hand gently holds your cheek, letting you melt into his touch. His thumb slowly caresses your cheek, wiping away the tears. Before they are replaced by new ones all over again. 

Your hands tighten around his left hand, and for a moment he wishes he was holding yours for a different reason. But he isn't, and this isn't about him, or his hopeless feelings.

This is about you, and about you needing his support. Therefore, he will be the best support he can be to you, even if it's 3 in the morning. 

"Hey, it's gonna be okay." 

He breathes out. 

Your fingers squeeze him slowly, he repeats the motion back. He can feel his heart beating faster. You close your eyes, and he slowly leans in to place a kiss on your forehead. 

"We're gonna get you through this, I'm here now."

He had received one worrying message from you, and rushed his way over here. Finding you hunched over on the floor, crying. Although your voice was gone. Your sobs had been painful and wet. 

Your ex's honey sweet voice pouring out from your phone, as they painted skies of promises, and planted forest of lies. 

"Come, come, let's get you back up to sitting."

He slowly lifts lips from your forehead, and his hand from your cheek gently. His heart arches with the way your head is chasing the warmth of his hand. The love of his fingers. 

He tries to remove his left hand as well, but you clutch onto it, as if it's your last lifeline. A plea for Wilbur to not leave you as well, and a plea he hears, and gently replies with a promise. A squeeze to tell you he's here, and another one to tell you, he's going to stay here. He's happy to let his hand be encased in the warmth of yours. 

"I'm gonna grab your shoulder now."

You squeeze his hand. You've consented to his movement, a sigh of relief leaves him. Yet your eyes remain closed. 

You look so beautiful even like this, so amazingly human. In a way Wilbur wishes you would be around him all the time. Vulnerable in a way that you trust him with your life and heart. Reaching out for him to help you pick up the pieces of yourself and your heart. 

Wilbur snakes his arm around your shoulder, feeling how heavy your body is. How limp you are on the floor. Fully trusting him, fully trying to escape reality. 

Making his body now encase yours, his stomach and chest ready to catch you when he gets you sitting up. His right hand on your right shoulder. His left hand squeezing yours, as you clasp onto his hand. 

"Up, up we go."

He's quick to get you up and sitting. Your body swaying, threatening to fall back down. But he's here, and he's ready to catch you. 

"I've got you, I've got you."

A squeeze. 

"You're doing so well."

He squeezes back.

You lean back into his grasp, and he happily lets you. Encasing your body with his. 

He can feel the way your shoulders are shaking once again, how your head drops down, and how your fingers squeeze tighter. 

"It's gonna be okay, it's all going to be okay."

Wilbur can feel his leg slowly numb itself. He needs to get you off the floor before you fall asleep. The last thing he wants is for you to wake up ruined emotionally and physically. 

Your shoulders have calmed down once again, and your breathing is getting heavier. 

"Hey now… You shouldn't fall asleep here. Let's get you to your bed."

You nestle yourself closer into yourself, instead of praying for the void of sleep to claim you and carry you away, never to open your eyes again, never to open your heart. 

"No, no, no, no, we can't do that."

Wilbur can hear you hum disagreeing, but he won't back down. You have to get off the floor and into your bed once more. 

He doesn't know if it's because you're more tired, or actively working against him. But you seem heavier, as he tries to move you away from his chest. 

Your hands still intertwined, your life line as he pulls you up and away from your comfort of the floor. He happiness as you squeeze his hand, before stopping in front of the bed. Dragging him down first, then letting yourself crash onto him. 

Your fingers are warming him. 

His other hand starts combing through your hair. 

A small squeeze tells him not to stop. He doesn't. 

"When the morning comes…" 

He trails off, you hum. 

"We could take a drive downtown to the Pacific Ocean."

Tiny squeeze. 

"We could work it all out, figure out how to help you get him out of your life. I know you're hurting, and I know you still care so much."

His hand soothingly tangles and de-tangles your hair. As you listen to his heart beat. It's quicker than you remember it being. He must be overwhelmed. 

You lazily squeeze his hand. 

"Pass red lights, like they do in those old movies."

You're getting sleepy, his voice lulling you, as you count his heart beats. The hand in your hair coaching you along. Telling you it's okay to go to sleep. It's going to be okay for a while

He squeezes your hand, and you relax into his arms.

"Help you see the future a bit clearer. Just…" 

He breathes.

"Just be you and me." 

A weak squeeze. 

"Just drive…"

One of the first things Dream says after calming down is "I used to have a clock." Even after all this time, that attachment still means a lot to Dream, he still mourns it. 

This might seem meaningless, but I think this is Dream's way of opening up to Techno, the first person to treat him with kindness in almost half a year. Dream is being emotionally vulnerable with Techno, something he hasn’t done since George and Sapnap left him.

Sorry I've been thinking about this again and I really really like completely emotionally withdrawn Dream who has all the Knowledge so I'm gonna ramble about that for a bit.

Sapnap and George know. Dream would have a fucking panic attack as soon as he was sent back into the past and they'd have to calm him down, assure him that he was safe and everything was fine. Dream, not knowing what was happening, would spill some details that would force him to explain that he's from the future. They're literally never leaving his side and, for a long time, are the only ones he's comfortable being emotionally vulnerable to, and even that takes time. The Dream Team would be even more inseparable.

Techno would also remember, and immediately nope out of the manburg vs. photopia war. He goes into retirement early to avoid making any enemies to hunt him down, and that tips off Dream. Instant besties, even if Techno is mildly put off by the fact Dream is so withdrawn and quite.

When Wilbur tries to ask Dream for the TnT for his plan, he's promptly chewed out for a solid 10 minutes on why he's stupid and childish and that Dream is not funding his insanity spiral. Wilbur does not blow up Manburg, and therefore does not die.

Only the people who were on the server pre-L'manburg know about Dream's sudden shift in personality, and to everyone else they kind of just assume that he's just quieter when not in competitions. The OG L'manburg squad would all have their own theories on why Dream suddenly shifted.

Since there's no Revolution and therefore no traitor Eret, They would simply be offered the crown sometime during the Manburg era and would immediately jump ship. This would put them on Niki's hit list for a while, but since they would have been in the government and directly under Schlatt, no one really blames them.

Prisoner Dream, at what point I don't care, but for this I'm going to say pre-tommy imprisonment, gets sent back to pre L'Manburg revolution times. Specifically, after he's already declared war

He wakes up, and he's in the community house and his friends are there, and he's just ???? And obviously has a panic attack because everything is wrong, and he is very confused. He doesn't even try to appear normal. Sapnap notices and is like "are you good bro?" and he just fucking implodes. Just full hysteria and making zero sense while trying to process where he is while Sapnap and George are trying to comfort him and figure out why their friend is suddenly unwell. He's staring at his canon lives in confusion, what day is it? Where are all his scars? He is not okay.

Now, this can go one of two ways, either is golden

Dream runs away. Cottage core Dream fic starts now, baby. He leaves a note that's basically like "if y'all hate me so much, I'll just leave, have your damn independence," and disappears off the face of the earth. I want him to have his healing arch by himself in the woods and cope with his actions in the previous timeline while the server is in shambles.

Fun idea, leave the server in shambles, always fun to write.

He stays, but is the most natural person alive with full knowledge of events, and just decides to see how closely things will match timelines without his active participation. He is still a mildly emotional wreck due to jumping from prison to current, but like, to everyone else he's even more cold. Have him write a passive-aggressive declaration of L'manburg's independence, reading it aloud as he writes, before throwing it at Wilbur's feet and leaving. The war is over before it began. Have him invite the same people, absolutely refuse to be a part of or help in the Pogtopia vs. Manburg war, threaten to perma-ban Tommy but let Tubbo deal with his nonsense.

The possibilities are endless, I need you to understand. Like he's just so passive (mostly) because like, if he does nothing than he can't be the villain and things still go to shit, so it clearly isn't his fault.

sapnap is literally justa Little guy who loves his friends that's it. he gets competitive and loud and cocky but he is also a guy who is full of so much love and he expresses it mostly by being a little shit but he also speaks so openly about the love and respect he holds for every single one of his friends and he's not scared to do that. he's not scared to say he loves his friends and he's not scared to say WHY he loves his friends and if you actually take the time and look, you can see he's not scared to be vulnerable with them either. he lets them hold him and hug him and touch him and he lets them tease him and he'll tease them right back and he makes himself smaller when he's next to them and he gives them his full attention when they talk and he loves his friends so fucking much the idea he'd ever to anything to purposefully and cruelly hurt them or anyone else, physically or emotionally, is downright laughable

I keep fucking thinking of little c!Techno things, and ik I have to make that character analysis post later and not right now because it will take forever and I'm really fucking tired, but I'm just gonna dump a few things so I don't forget them:

- history of being unable to verbally express his emotional attachment to anyone except Phil unless it's in moments of immediate danger (tommy about to get killed by dream, ranboo in peril bc of the egg)

- adhd brain go brr, inability to focus on conversations nts might consider super important bc his brain just looks for other things to focus on after too much excitement (also applicable to cc!techno after too much lore, basically)

- other than when he's pushed to his emotional limits, being really lighthearted/dismissive of things that make him feel too emotional because he just doesn't want to deal with emotions (reaction to tommy's death with hesitance then masking it with false joy, getting really scared of sapnap killing him for .2 seconds then masking that with jokes and intense focus, feigning indifference when ranboo gave him a replacement axe of peace)

- constantly getting emotionally and physically hurt by people and never getting closure, so he just compounds all his emotional hurt and severely internalizes it, so now he has literally no sense of self-awareness and takes no damn accountability for his actions bc to him, it's all justified by every time someone hurt him

- his anarchism stemming from a view of governments as unjust, perpetuating unjust violence, rule, and punishments; now he gets so paranoid about another government forming after almost getting executed by one that he jumps the gun

- even though the egg is technically more of a government and more of a danger than snowchester at the moment, techno doesn't realize that he still holds a grudge against tubbo after all these months, and also has some unaddressed guilt for the time he took one of his canon lives, all culminating into resentment that made him hyper focus on tubbo and snowchester this stream, even if, objectively, that made no logical sense

- the progression from joining the first rebellion against the manberg government after the rebellion's creation, to nipping the new tubbo presidency in the bud with the withers, to now checking in on snowchester before it's even established itself as a nation (progression of trying to prevent shit before it starts, increased paranoia)

- an innate need to make sure everyone else is always less powerful than him because he's just so damn afraid of death. everyone talks about how c!dream is scared of death, and yet views himself as a god, and techno is such an interesting parallel to that. when equipping the rebels before the pogtopia vs manberg war, techno gave everyone purposefully inferior armor (all the armor he gave had fire prot iv or something similar instead of prot iv). he grinded for hours upon hours upon joining the server, just so he would no longer be in iron armor while everyone else was in diamond. he went completely overkill with potions in his fight against quackity, despite knowing that his pvp skills are better than quackity's anyways. he literally spawned withers in l'manberg just so he could get his axe back from fundy and ranboo because he felt so vulnerable without his one, op weapon. now, he doesn't see his wither skulls as comparable to snowchester's nukes bc his skulls, in techno's eyes, are simply a necessary form of self-defense, while surely snowchester could turn violent at any moment (/s).

So I’ve been thinking about something for a while now and I’m gonna talk about it on here; I feel like in fandom spaces people are VERY quick to slam two male characters with onscreen chemistry together into a gay relationship and it kinda rubs me the wrong way? I’m gonna be using the Dream SMP as an example cause it’s the only active fandom I’m in and I think the source material does a very good job at striking a balance between gay rep and positive male friendships

For example, while there are plenty of canon gay relationships on the Dream SMP (Karlnapity, Awsamponk, and beeduo technically), there are still a lot of friendships between two guy characters that are affectionate and tender (tommy and tubbo, sapnap and Dream, Phil and techno). I’m actually so surprised how well this goddamn stupid Minecraft server showcases both of these types of relationships in a realistic and healthy way, but I could go on for hours abt the Dream SMP and that’s not the point of the post lol.

Whenever people take those friendships and spin them into something romantic, I feel like it’s telling young men that they can’t have affectionate, emotional, and vulnerable friendships with other guys; whenever they immediately ship the characters it tells them that tenderness and vulnerability is innately ‘gay.’

It’s also why I’m pretty off put whenever people ship the streamers irl for having…healthy friendships with their boys? But that’s a whole other can of worms that I’d rather not get into

TL;DR: while gay representation in media is important it’s just as important to showcase healthy and emotionally valuable male friendships :)

I keep seeing people demonising or portraying Quackity just-idk as this villain?

Listen, I'm pretty sure that all the shit he said about bringing back Schlatt was due to trauma and not due to him actually being interested in power. He never got closure over Schlatt's abuse especially considering that even while dying, Schlatt got the last laugh, calling Quackity "Flatty Patty" as his last words.

Quackity has NEVER been in control in his relationship with Schlatt and that lasted until the very bitter end. His need to resurrect Schlatt and control him is probably in his eyes a way to finally serve Schlatt his own medicine in hopes to fix his own trauma at the man's hands.

Now, George's loss of power, Tommy's exile and the Butcher Army.

I don't think that Quackity built Mexican L'manberg/El Rapids out of a need for power, but more out of a desperate need for security.

A lot of people see Q as the joker of the server, but it's clear that he can be serious and has shown multiple times to be smarter than he lets on, he's simply very impulsive and emotionally driven but he can be very smart and cunning when he manages to emotionally distance himself from the situation at hand.

He's very quick to see through Dream's manipulations and he calls him out on them on multiple occasions. It's even possible that Dream sees Q as a threat, as he'd most likely been spying on his bargaining with BBH, because Q had been managing to get trough Bad, so much so that he'd agreed to report their talk to the rest. Which is when Dream then shoots Quackity and sends him threats in pvt to not get involved. "Your country is safe as long as you stay out of my business."

Q was also the one who showed Fundy and Tubbo about just how involved Dream has been in everything that had happened and just how deep his manipulations ran. People say he's trying to control Tubbo?? Man, he's trying to protect Tommy AND L'manberg. And he rightfully calls out Tubbo for going back on their agreement, because Tubbo decided to change his mind suddenly and did what he wanted. Ofc Q reacted badly, cause that's exactly what Schlatt pulled on him, it's why he shot him and ran.

As for Techno, it's implied time and time again that in the DSMP plotline Q has very strong fear of Technoblade and possibly trauma related to him. Remember what I said about him being impulsive when emotions come into play? He's scared as shit of Technoblade and this puts him in a vulnerable situation. After Schlatt the last thing he wants is to feel vulnerable again. So what does he do? Attack any possible threat to his safety. He wants to feel safe and he thinks that getting rid of Technoblade will make him feel safe, will make him feel in control. He wants to blame Techno for his problems because he doesn't want to think about Schlatt, he doesn't want to think about what he's been through.

When confronted by Dream about it he admits that Schlatt is partially his fault, but he's clearly uncomfortable with talking about it.

Quackity knows he's physically weak, his only weapons are his words and charisma. The reason he looks for power is to compensate for his lack of physical prowess and lack of ability in pvp.

He's very afraid rn and lashing out irrationally at any threat. But he's not stupid nor out of control. On multiple occasions he's demonstrated to be smart and cunning.

And who knows? maybe he's acting crazy rn to make himself look like less of a threat. Dream considers him dangerous for his silver tongue and charisma, but if he acts crazy then Dream might write him off as someone he can control, someone unimportant, enabling him to actually do things undisturbed.

But again, those are just my thoughts. I personally just really enjoy his character and his growing involvement in the plot.

I wish more people paid more mind to the El Rapids gang cause they've had some really epic moments together.

I'm also really proud of Sapnap and George for finally realising that Dream is using them and doing something about it.

- Eret. Honestly I just want protective C!Eret. They were the first person to try and help Fundy after Wilburs death. They’ve pretty much made up with every other original L’Manberg citizen ASIDE from Tommy. Pls bond already you bastards.

- Puffy. The only adult C!Tommy canonically trusts (at a consistent rate) to be emotionally vulnerable with. Papa Puffy we need you rn, Tommy’s mad at Sam, come get ur boy.

- Connor. I just think they should be friends <3

- Sapnap. Ohhhhh I want C!Sapnap to finally snap back against C!Dream so baaaad. Tommy and Sapnap have had such a weird relationship in canon. They can’t stop fighting but they respect each other so so much. C!Sapnap show your direct support for your ex-best friends victim challenge?

- Quackity. He’s doing his whole “I’m a scary soulless capitalist” arc rn but the inflections in this mans voice during Jack breaking the news AND the reunion? Absolutely fucking heart breaking. He cares about that kid so fucking much pls comfort him.

- Foolish. Mans is the deity of undying. Nothing says healing like talking things out with the spiritual representative of the very thing you fear most. Everything about this plotline has his name written all over. Also the, like, three interactions they’ve had so far have all been priceless and I need more of their dynamic.

- Ghostbur. When will he return to us. Our sweet summer child. Like half of his whole thing was being there for C!Tommy because he knew Alivebur couldn’t protect him anymore. Sir he needs you now more than ever.
