11. HAPPIER THAN EVER

Pairing. Color x Killer Content. SFW! ANGST, color missing the killer he lost and trying to get attached to this new killer and failing, color centric fic A/N. This one was inspired by this amazing piece from netverse by @what-have-i-unleashed (the only killer hater that i love <3)

It was like he didn’t exist, an easy obstacle to pass, unworthy of any attention to even be understood or complete. Those empty holes, lacking any trace of empathy, didn’t even turn in his direction, always looking away, oblivious to his trembling figure not far off – perhaps a few steps? Two arm spans? Color couldn’t say. All he saw was Killer’s back, moving further and further away, slipping out of his reach.

How many times had he found himself in this exact scenario? Seen as a shadow, a ghost of a past that never existed, condemned to relive the same nightmare over and over in each cycle that was the life and death of his beloved Killer. Had the truth he had tried so hard to deny, to twist until it became a lie, finally become real?

Had Killer finally found a way to live that didn’t involve Color being at his side?

"Take care..." escaped his bonelips, brushing against his teeth in a shiver as he was ignored once again; not even a glance over the shoulder, a final hesitation, nothing. Killer was gone in a blink of an eye, vanishing into the air.

Heading toward a place Color couldn’t follow — toward people Color didn’t know, meetings in an abandoned parking lot his Killer would never visit, journeys he would never learn of.

He lets out a dry laugh, the tears long spent from past nights — there was nothing left to fall from his one burning eyelight. "Maybe Delta was right after all..." His hands tremble in his pockets, the words slipping out as if a final tie were breaking. "Killer is happier without me this time.”

Still trying to be more active here, so here's another years old fic/au idea

It's a mv shared-surface story, except when swap and fell's barriers are broken at the same time, something exceptionally odd happens. All monsters who have an equivalent alternate get fuzed with them. This, of course, means Stretch and Edge wind up trapped in one body together.

I'm pretty sure in the initial idea they'd already met due to Machine Shenanigans and didn't exactly get along, so aside from all the more general reasons anyone would be unhappy about the situation, they're especially put out.

Monsters agree to stay in their merged underground until the scientists can figure something out to get them all separated again. But in the meantime, all they can really do otherwise is wait.

So the main plot of the fic is essentially just Stretch and Edge (and their friends n brothers) learning how to manage this. Tensions skyrocket almost immediately due to the drastically different lifestyles between the universes, but as everyone learns to adapt, things (mostly) smooth over.

It was a lot of fun to think about what their shared body would be like, what traits and struggles they'd have, how they'd adapt. It was also very sweet once they do start to communicate more and find their stride.

I never got as far as an ending but presumably they get un-fuzed and finally join whoever else is already on the surface, and of course Edge and Stretch wind up together. Considered there being Cherryberry too, but I run so hot and cold with that pairing I never fully committed lol

Terrible terrible thought about Fell and Lust getting along because they don't hide "what they really are", they don't hide that they're "monsters" like the other Sans do.
