General Update (About Updating)

Hi folks!! I've been meaning to get out just a quick update on all things fanfic but every time I sit down to do it get terribly distracted, normally by said fanfic.

Basically, I'm back to working again!! Woohoo!! Hooray!! Three cheers!! or whatever else they say idk Anyway, I should be back and I am doing my best to get back into my abandoned fall schedule!! As a quick note:

None of the fics on my profile are abandoned.

Even if I'm not currently updating, I will get back to them ASAP until I finish them. If something gets discontinued, I'll be sure to make it loud and clear. But always feel free to drop an ask if you want to know the status of said updates, especially if I ever disappear again lol

Current/New Schedule! - Sunday: CHTangled AU, every other week - Monday: Stardew Oneshot, if finished (I have ideas again!!) - Tuesday: Sasi Medieval AU (MITT), every other week (LTWF is finally complete!!!) - Friday: Corpse Party (YT/T), if finished. Soon will be swapping with Corpse Party (CH/Dim20) (!!) - Saturday: FNaF:SB (YT/T), if finished. I'm thinking of what to swap this with, though I'm leaning towards some SPN stuff I'm working on.

I'm sorry it's been a year on my Life is Strange fic, but I promise I'll have Chapter 2 done soon and that Chapter 3 will not take another year for an update. The TV Show AUs take longer than some of my other stuff, but I will slowly have more of those uploaded this summer as well. I have unused days of the week for new AUs, too. This fall I'll hopefully have the Medieval AU (MITT) done and have a Detective AU to replace it with, along with more CH/Dim20 content and some other big fandom writes/AUs that have been lurking in my Drive. As those are being prepared, more updates will come.

Thanks for sticking out my awful, 7-month episode where I totally just dipped. Mental health and life are difficult to balance, and writing got the short end of the stick from me while I was struggling, but I'm doing much better now. So here's to hoping it doesn't happen again!

I can list at least three full animatics for this song for every major fandom I have ever been a part of, and still it's so hard to find them because there are so goddamn many

It's an absolute banger from the absolute King Alan Menken, originally from the pretty underrated Tangled the Series. I've seen animatics for this for like every fandom I can think of, and it deserves it because it slaps and has great vocal performances from Jeremy Jordan and Eden Espinosa.

i'm pretty sure this song is more well known than the show it came from is lol. i looked up "ready as i'll ever be animatic" on youtube just to confirm and counted 20+ of them, and i didn't even finish scrolling. it is a genuinely really good song from a /surprisingly/ good show that imo is super underrated. i definitely would recommend checking it out if you get the opportunity!

it's a fandom song that transcended its fandom and became a hit for twist villains.

The song really fosters creativity with how many animatics can create a darker AU where the usual protagonist (or a close associate) is made to be the antagonist because of injustice suffered and the other characters have to fight against them

I've seen *at least* one animatic of this song in almost every fandom I've looked into

It has a lot of Animaniacs because it is sung by an ensemble cast It is good for demonstrating a lot of different conflicting perspectives of characters for your big dramatic fight and its catchy and I love it

I mean everyone loves a scenario where one of the main cast becomes a villain for tragic reasons and the rest of the characters have to fight them while dealing with the betrayal and attempting to make them see reason

How in the actual hell does a song from a Tangled spinoff series go this spectacularly hard? More to the point, how does it have an animatic/AMV for practically EVERY FANDOM IN EXISTENCE?! Yeah, most people know it from that one Warrior Cats MAP, but there is SO much more. Not to mention the bucketloads of people who used this song for their own OCs, which is always a bonus.

“Did you not enjoy meeting me?” Patton tries to ignore the sweat on their skin as though these simple questions are an interrogation. “I did enjoy meeting you, J! You’re fun to talk to.”

Patton continues to be tangled in the coils of Janus's not-well-thought-out revenge plans. Virgil is struggling over the changes his partner is exhibiting. Remus and Roman decide some things matter more than drama from high school.

The charms on Patton’s phone clack against each other as they walk down the street, glancing hurriedly around for a particular park bench between a bakery café and a bar. They glance at the texts from their new friend J one more time, scrolling up slightly through several days of messages just to check they have everything right. It’s midday on a weekend, and Patton may or may not have had to tell a small fib to get time away from the others; nothing terrible, they just told them they had some shopping to do.

They clutch their phone at their chest, nervously glancing up at a bakery with the correct name. They look around the sidewalk as they come up to it, landing on a bench right outside. The green painted wood stands out cheerily in an area of town where most color comes from neon signs promising your wildest of parties. It’s empty, however, and they hum to themselves and sit down, smoothing out their overall-dress with a heavy sigh.

Pat: Hey J! I’m here, where are u?

They fire off a confused text, rubbing their forehead and adjusting their glasses. The bakery wafts warm smells out at them that nearly, almost, cover the reek of the bars all around it. It’s a quiet little spot that seems so out of place… It’s kind of cute, with a wood cabin façade on the front of the brick building and rows of pastries in the window.

Patton rereads her message twice, glancing up and blinking rapidly around. From the glass door of the café, they finally see her, waving them inside with a glimmering smile and black gloved hands. Patton sighs in relief and enters the store, face to face with her.

“Hi J! I thought you might have bailed on hanging out for a moment.”

“Oh, Pat, please. I would never turn down an opportunity with you.”

Patton giggles slightly. “You say that like we’ve been friends for years instead of this being our third time even meeting up!”

J shrugs at them, a wry grin crossing the corners of her lips. She gestures around at the incredibly cozy looking bakery with armchairs and coffee tables instead of restaurant tables. “Is this more your thing than the bars we tried last time?”

“Oh!” Patton touches their chest, appreciating being thought of like that. “Um, yes, this is nicer and calmer. Those bars were a lot for me. So was being drunk.”

J smirks. “Yes, I could gather that considering you almost threw up in the bathroom.”

“Hey, don’t kick someone when they’re down, J!” Patton jokes, patting at her arm repeatedly. Looking over at the counter and the menu above it, Patton sees pastries, several coffees, and a whole separate menu of hot chocolates. “I guess it is getting close to the holidays,” they murmur as the two of them approach. Janus glances at them, but just proceeds with ordering a mint cocoa. Patton ends up settling on a Mexican style hot cocoa, which has never let them down in deliciousness before.

As they both sit down, Janus leans her chin on her hands. “So, what is it about the holidays that made you look like a shellshocked war vet all of a sudden?”

“Oh!” Patton tries to wipe anything but a smile off of their face. “I’m sorry, you don’t need to worry about it!”

“Hm, who said I was worried. Curious would perhaps be a more accurate word. Don’t you enjoy them? Sitting down with those you love and pretending, for just a moment in time, that all is well…” Janus trails off in thought, eyes closing.

“I think it’s all that pretending that I don’t like about it, actually. I had to pretend everything was just fine one too many times on Christmas day.”

“Oh?”

Patton flinches at their own revealing words. The distant image of their dad’s used needles on the coffee table alongside wrapping paper rotates in their mind, a thought they can’t banish. They knock their knuckles on the wooden armrests three times, taking a breath and holding it for a moment. The image moves on. “Yeah, the holidays weren’t… the best of times, growing up. Well, nothing was really the best of times back then.”

J says nothing for a moment, before realizing Patton has stopped. “Leaving me on a cliffhanger, Pat?”

“I don’t really like talking about it-“

The conversation is cut off by the appearance of a barista who sets their drinks in front of them with a wave. Patton picks up the red mug they were given, blowing on the steam and floating around a lone cinnamon stick inside of it. Decidedly not making eye contact. J stares at them, resting her gloved hands over the warm mug and drinking in the heat on her cold limbs. She massages her throat, deciding on a tone of voice to use. Concern? Guilt tripping? Passive aggressive? ‘Genuine’ kindness?

“You don’t have to tell me everything,” she says, settling on a compassionate, slightly upset tone. “But I just want to help, in any area I can.”

Patton shifts in their chair, and meets her eyes again with a tired sigh. “No, it’s okay, I know you just… just want to help. I don’t like talking about my childhood a lot of the time.” Janus nods, preparing to catalogue information for later. “It wasn’t a good one. My dad wasn’t a good guy, honestly, but- but he was very good at pretending to be. Went to church every Sunday, did substances in his free time, you know, typical hypocritical religious man.” Patton laughs uncomfortably, and Janus tilts her head, raising an eyebrow. Patton sips their still scalding cocoa, trying to hide or divert somehow. “A-anyways, he’s gone now. I don’t talk to my mom either, so… yeah.”

“Seems like you have a storied past, Pat. Does your… boyfriend take good care of you, at least? Did you take him out somewhere like I suggested?”

“Oh, he does take good care of me, yes! We both help each other with our mental health a lot.” Patton rubs their hand over the side of the mug anxiously. “I tried taking him somewhere during school hours as a surprise like you said might work, but I don’t know, I think it just upset him. There’s been some personal drama in our friend group.”

“Oh, has there?” she says. Janus represses the urge to be pleased with herself, because Patton seems upset in a way that even she doesn’t feel comfortable toying with.

“Yeah… Our housemate’s brother had to be kicked out.”

“Really?” she says, faux shocked. “And what caused that?”

“He was… involved with drugs,” Patton whispers. “And it was really- It- It could have put my friends in danger. We were being harassed by his dealers.”

“Was he not your friend as well?”

“Not… not in a real, genuine way. We would argue more than actually enjoy being around each other. We had very different ideas about right and wrong.”

“And what are your ideas on right and wrong, Pat?”

Patton chuffs out a light laugh. “Well, the main point of contention we argued on was that drugs are absolutely never a good thing, especially if other people are involved too.”

“Right, and that’s why you were out drinking alone when we met.”

Patton tenses up and hides in another sip of too-hot cocoa. “That was my first time ever- I do not go out. Not, at least, before we met.”

“Did you not enjoy meeting me?”

“Well, at least I have that going for me. God forbid I secretly be a drug dealer or something, could you imagine?”

“You’re… not, are you?”

Janus’s smile falls dramatically into a near cartoonish disappointed frown, and she raises an eyebrow at them. “I was joking, no, I don’t do any substances but booze.”

“Okay, good, ha,” Patton relaxes a slight bit, breathing out a low breath. “How about you, J? I revealed some childhood of mine – how was yours?”

“Definitely just as bad as yours, sweetie.” It’s Janus’s turn to awkwardly sip at her mug, feeling small all of a sudden, as though the entire world is watching her rather than the single, spectacled gaze of her new 'bestie.' Patton stares at her curiously until the silence is making her uncomfortable. “I haven’t talked to either of my parents since I was 15 if that tells you anything.”

“Why’s that?”

Janus sighs through her nose, eyes closing tiredly for a moment as she picks her words carefully. “I got kicked out to put it simply. My parents were very traditional, only second-generation immigrants with a whole lot of strong ideals and desires about my future. They didn’t take kindly to having a trans kid, to say the least.” Patton nods, eyebrows creased sympathetically, encouraging her to keep going. “I made it on my own from there. Now, here I am. Voila.”

“That was a lot of words to tell me almost nothing at all, J,” Patton teases her lightly.

“I don’t prefer divulging so much information when I’ve met someone all of three times.”

Patton shrugs, humming. “That’s fair, I won’t pry! I don’t have a crowbar anyways.”

Janus chuckles, rolling her eyes just slightly. “Ugh, wordplay. Anyways. How is your drink?”

“Oh, it’s very nice! Hot cocoa never misses though, so it’s to be expected,” Patton smiles across at her. Janus hums, drinking deep from her mug, letting the warm feeling replace her pain just for a moment. She needs to remain unrecognized, but damn is it rough to get around without her crutches. The mint and chocolate taste does a good job of flooding her sense out. She sighs out a breath, peeking at Patton through one eye.

“This is nice. Very relaxing, quiet. Never thought I could enjoy an activity that is basically just sitting there.”

“Well, just sitting there can be nice! Especially with a friend.”

Janus smiles, though whether it’s a reaction to the kindness or a grim nod to how far from friendship this really is, even she couldn’t tell you. “I’m glad you feel that way, Pat. I suppose we can do more things at ‘your pace’ from here on; I’ve realized I just might need the relaxation. Plus, you are ever-interesting to learn about.”

Patton smiles at her sheepishly, and her lips split into a smile as well, teeth bared and glimmering under her thick black lipstick.

They’ve attempted to practice this song before, so Virgil lets himself get very, very into it, banging the drums like he has a personal vendetta against percussion instruments while Roman attempts to keep up on his bass guitar. Roman sweatily plays the last notes of the song, but Virgil doesn’t stop playing, seemingly just starting right back into the drums for the chorus in a loop, his eyes closed and face scrunched up.

“Virgil!” Roman attempts to call out to him four times, and eventually just walks up to him and catches the cymbal as he was about to hit it, muffling it and finally startling him out of his trance. “Earth to emo, the song’s over already!” Virgil just stares at him for a moment, panting with wide eyes.

“Uh- Sorry. I got caught up in it.”

“No kidding,” Roman snarks, leaning against his kit. “How are we supposed to have a successful recording if you are dead set on becoming the next Def Leopard?”

“Sorry, jeeze,” Virgil mumbles. He begins getting up and moving towards their water bottles, and Roman can’t help noticing how stiff and uncomfortable he looks.

“Virgil?” he stops him. “Hey, is something amiss?”

Virgil sighs, chugs a large gulp of water, and then wipes his brow. “Yeah, it’s- I’m fine, it’s nothing serious.”

“You are acting fishier than sushi Sundays, just tell me what’s up.”

Virgil groans. “I dunno. Patton’s just been… weird lately. Have you noticed it at all?”

Roman tries to think, tapping his chin. “Nothing outside of their usual oddities.”

“They’ve been veering into really upsetting territory for me lately.” Roman makes an inquiring hum, and Virgil grimaces. “Really quick to tell white lies and immediately assure me it won’t have any consequences. They also stay up in the living room most nights instead of coming to bed with me early like they used to. And they keep leaving the house for seemingly no reason.”

“Not necessarily the most unlike them they could act, but it is odd. Do you think it could be new rituals? Do they need their meds adjusted?”

Virgil shakes his head. “I mean, I don’t know. They haven’t needed their meds changed in at least half a year; they’ve been really stable anxiety-wise? It’s just- just weird, and I don’t like it. It keeps making me have panic attacks.”

“Well, we certainly can’t have that. Have you spoken with them about it yet?”

“No, I’m too nervous that I’m just being… being over-cautious.” Virgil pulls up his hood, gripping the sides of it and worrying with the fabric. “What if I bring it up and they think I’m being crazy?”

Roman touches his hands with his, for once gloveless, fingers, looking at him seriously. “You know for a fact Patton would never in their life call you crazy, especially when you are just concerned for them. Whatever it is, I know they’ll let us know when they feel like they can. Until then, I know it’s asking much from you, but trust them.”

Virgil grimaces, but it fades into a soft smile. “Thanks for reassuring me, Rom, I’m sorry. Just get a little anxious sometimes.”

“Oh please, in another universe, the name on your birth certificate is ‘Anxiety’ Addams instead,” Roman teases. Virgil scoffs, then swipes Roman’s bangs into his face, leaving him sputtering on his own hair as they both laugh.

Roman is already settled cozily in bed and half asleep when his phone begins ringing, and he groans at it dramatically for ruining his sleep. He fumbles on his bedside table and pulls the bright light into view. He nearly drops the phone in his urgency to pick it up the second his sleepy eyes register Remus’s contact name.

“Remus! You’re calling me?! You dick, just text me when I te-“

“Do you hate me, Roman?”

Roman just kind of freezes in place, listening to his twin’s very heavy breathing. “Remus? Are you okay?”

Remus laughs shakily on the other end. “Change of environment finally caught up with me. The stress of ignoring you did too, I guess.”

Roman cups the phone against his ear as though it could count as comforting Remus across the phone line. “I don’t hate you, no. I don’t think I could manage it as much as I like to pretend I can.” Roman replies to him with as much sober sincerity as he posed the question. “You’re my brother, you know?”

“Being their son didn’t make them love me. I don’t know why you’d uphold family ties so much after everyone else got rid of me.” Roman hears Remus’s breath hitch, and he knows instantly that he must be feeling things grabbing his legs again. It’s a common but very distressing hallucination for him.

“Remus, mom and dad can suck shit,” Roman declares, and to his happiness, it draws a more genuine sounding chuckle from his twin. He can’t help smiling at the sound of his stupid laugh. “Maybe family ties are bullcrap, but whatever you and I have isn’t anything like how mom and dad ‘showed love.’ We actually love each other, like real fucking family.” Roman pauses, listening to Remus breathe again, proving his twin is there to himself. “I did promise I’d always take care of you. Nothing about that has changed.”

“It has though, y’know?” Remus’s voice shakes slightly. “We’re adults, like fully now, and we can’t be that close anymore.”

“Why not?”

“It wouldn’t be healthy for two 20ish bros to share a bed, no offence but I don’t like you like that,” Remus jokes, making Roman snort out a laugh and roll his eyes.

“Remus, you’re such an idiot. I do concede that I never want to share a bed with you again because you stink,” Remus laughs on the other end, but Roman continues. “But us doing that isn’t the extent of brother-ness. You were sick, like really sick, back then. We can care for each other… outside the context of suffering, too.”

“Even though I went and stayed with her? Do you really think Virgil could handle you still talking to me regularly?”

Roman sighs. “Look- Just- Some things are more important than that stupid godawful fight from high school. You and I weren’t even involved, we just had to physically put ourselves between them.”

“Didn’t know Virgil was capable of being that scary TBH,” Remus mutters, pronouncing each letter of the acronym.

“Yyyeah, me either up until then.” He sighs. “We couldn’t exactly not take his side, you know?”

“We could have not taken sides at all!”

“Remus, look, Janus isn’t – or at least wasn’t – a good person or a good friend, and even if you’re talking to her, don’t bring her into me and Virgil’s lives if you can help it. Please?” Roman listens to him breathe in deeply.

“I won’t, don’t worry about that. Look your highness, I need to go and smoke a joint, or else this episode is just getting worse for the night, but Roman?”

“Yes Remus?”

“I promise I won’t ignore your texts anymore. See you never, loser.”

“See you in tartarus , you jerk,” Roman says playfully, rolling his eyes. “And… Love you.”

There’s a pause of silence and shifting for a bit longer than comfortable. “Love you too, Rom,” Remus says, quickly hanging up and leaving Roman alone in the darkness again.

23. Dialogue or description? Why is the other one so hard?

DIALOGUE I LOVE U. im so much better at dialogue than descriptions. especially if it's like. action. im so bad at writing action. but even descriptions in general r so fucking hard sometimes!! thats why all my fics r so dialogue heavy. like writing in the characters voice is so fucking easy u already know what words are in their vocabulary and how they speak!!! but how the fuck do i describe a fucking building without making it sound too specific and overly detailed!!!! how do u do that!!!! agh!!!

Patton Foster (alias: Guardian. Just a normal guy who trained super hard, has a handful of cool tech and a mask. He's basically Batman. - Costume is probably mostly shades of dark grey / light grey and pale blue highlights - has a cowl)

Roman Valdez (alias: Hurricane. He's basially Superman, was an alien baby who crashlanded on earth. - Costume is white with a red? gold? H on his chest, red cape, red boots and gloves. probably not masked Or has a little over-the-eyes Green Lantern/Mr Incredible style mask. Probably built like Mr Incredible too)

Remus Valdez (alias: Maelstrom. He's basically Aquaman. Also not human - half-Atlantean (im gonna steal this i can do what I like). Raised on the surface. Can control water and sea life, can talk to fish, LOVES octopi/tentacle motif above all else. - Costume: probably yknow super green black and silver, probably has that scale-like skintight chest piece and maybe some armour motifs (bc Atlantis) Face is not covered)

Side note: i think Roman And Remus were found by like. a lighthouse keeper. who went oh boy!!! free sons!!! and raised them as brothers. They fully consider each other brothers. they grew up together and hero together, probs dont live together currently tho.

also i came up with the names separately but it means they both named themselves after weather phenomena and that is twin behaviour godbless

the three of them have something like a justice league together - it probably has Other Heroes in it part time too but. waves hand. background characters. They have an HQ. Somewhere.

Janus [Surname Pending] (alias: Siren. A magician-cross-catburlgar... he's like... Catwoman if she had Zatanna's powers and aesthetics. Magic is real and he has it. And uses it for. Well. Everything. Morally grey rogue rather than evil villain. He's still super fucking with Guardian. - Costume: face half-scaled (genuinely from a magic curse) the other half masked phantom of the opera style. wears like... a magician's get up crossed his canon outfit but with bootyshorts and fishnets)

Logan Sanders (alias: [pending]. He's not really evil, or, not if you ask him. But he does think having these so called super-'heroes' running around without a contingency plan is... irresponsible. In private he is building a mech suit capable of taking down Hurricane Should He Need Taking Down. Has strong morals <- not good morals, just strong morals. Sometimes funds smaller villains/rogues for ,,,reasons. Patton is his secretary but they dont know the other is hero/villain (a shame, if they were on the same side, they'd get along very well) - Costume: well. it's a mech-suit, bulkier / more armoured than, say Iron Man, but not,, like,,, ten feet tall. all cold steel, maybe burnished black in parts, and i can see it having a visor with electronic eyes that can be Logan's signature blue.

Virgil (Surname Pending) (alias: [also pending] <- probably storm Or shadow related. He's the most nebulous to me right now but tbh i can see a semi-harley quinn backstory where he was tangled up with a gangleader who won him over into a life of crime but he's not that happy (i.e., open to...persuasion) with it. Don't know if he should have powers or not... - Costume: blacks, purples w/ hints of yellow. Hood covers hair and eyes and mask covers lower face. dresses in layers typical of like... a medieval assassin (he's not an assassin) (he's probably killed people before tho)

Virgil and Janus have probably crossed paths before as their rogue aliases. Janus has met Logan (under a fake name). it's possible Logan (in costume, under alias) has worked with Virgil/Virgil's boss before. Generally, esp now Virgil's striking out a little more on his own, Virgil and Janus are kinda too low on Logan's radar for him to seek them out so far. (Janus likes it like that) (tbh so does Virgil)

For @sanders-sides-a-spec-week prompt cafe au, here's a trip to my Chaos Cafe au

Summary: Roman tries to visit his brother's cafe in the hopes of reconnecting. He gets that and an identity realisation besides.

Virgil was used to people looking confused or unsettled when they enter the store. In fact, aside from the regulars, just about everyone does on days when Remus is at the counter.

He's not used to being seen and someone suddenly looking towards the door before glancing around the cafe in nerves again.

The person seems familiar, but not in the way that they've met before. It was more like Virgil knew someone they were related to closely, and he was trying to convince himself not to say anything about that. The jaw line and eyes watching him could have been Remus's if there was more chaos dancing through them except so far as Virgil had been told, most of Remus's family had cut off all contact.

“Welcome to the chaos cafe, do you have any allergens, sensitivities or texture dislikes?” He asked, knowing better than to lead with their order. Everyone needed a few moments to make decisions from their menu, or to ask him for a recommendation.

They cleared their throat. “Um, no? Except like mouse or sponges with too much sauce over them?” They replied, eyes now tracing over the door to the kitchen and the window through as if expecting an answer to whatever questions were in his heads to appear through them.

“Good to know, what can I do for you then?” Virgil offered, deciding against asking their order since he was more and more certain that whatever the reason, this person wasn't actually here for a drink or some food.

“Does – Is this Remus's cafe? I lost the address or name of it, but I think only he would name a cafe chaos.” They rambled a little, jumping when something metallic clanged in the kitchen.

Virgil raised his eyebrow, carefully not glancing behind him. “I'd prefer to ask who you are before answering that.” It's what he would say regardless of who was asked for, but knowing Remus is now listening in, deciding whether he wants to emerge or not adds extra comfort to the exchange.

“I, well I was his brother, once upon a time. I doubt he would still accept me claiming that role though. I'm called Roman, if you need to like, check if I'm safe to know where he is or something.” It was rambling, which Virgil was hoping was simply because Roman was nervous. He'd been told about how confident, how extravagant and how much of a show-off Roman could be before, but that wasn't matching up with the man in front of him.

Another clatter has Virgil stepping to the side of the window just in time for Remus to tumble through it. “And I'm Virgil, Remus's fiance.” He introduced himself, still just watching as Remus essentially yanked Roman over the counter with enough force they ended up tangled on the floor behind it.

Roman took a few moments before speaking, attempting to twist to look at Remus and failing to, instead just looking up at Virgil, now smirking over them. “I'm guessing you don't hate me then?”

“My brother came back! We can be the ones making chaos together again!” Remus crowed, getting a few of their patrons glancing over in confusion at seeing nobody other than Virgil stood there.

“Nah, he never did. Just has a lot of rants over forced normality, the constrictions of society's rules and a long list of various insults intended to be thrown at your parents if they ever cross our paths.” Virgil shrugged, before leaning through the window to the kitchen to check what orders had been placed. “But given you're causing delays to customers meals, I'm assigning you kitchen duty while you catch up.”

Surprisingly, or not, Virgil couldn't quite decide, the brothers managed to work well in the kitchen. He had kept listening out for arguments or criticisms of the meals they were serving but none came.

In fact, they were getting along so well come the end of the day that Roman came home with them that evening, which was when the confused glances began again. Thankfully Virgil didn't have to wait too long to hear what was confusing Roman, although understanding the question felt like it would take a few hours, or a book of context that hadn't been shared.

“How come you let Remus break all the rules?”

Remus had stepped out of the room for a second, and probably wouldn't have explained what rules he was meant to be breaking either, but it did leave Virgil trying to decide between saying something about Remus or questioning in return.

“Generally, or are there specific rules he's broken? If he was trying to cook upside down today, I definitely do not let him do that and you should have gotten me.” Virgil settled on saying, trying to remember if he'd heard anything from the kitchen about his safety rules being broken. If the labels were being messed with again he would read the riot act and have Janus monitoring him when they're free for a month or more.

“The relationship rules.” Roman clarified exactly nothing. He seemed certain his words made sense though, if the assured nod to Virgil was any indication.

For a moment he was concerned or scared that there really were some rules to relationships they would get judged for breaking. Then Virgil remembered all their friends assurances that every relationship was unique, and nobody had a right to make assumptions over anyone else's relationships.

Instead of saying any of this and possibly upsetting Remus's only family trying to get to know him again, Virgil hummed a little. “Such as?”

So Roman starts listing rules.

A hell of a lot of rules.

In fact, Remus has joined them again, and Roman has simply waved to him and carried on listing more and more rules seemingly surrounding everything to do with romance that could ever be.

It carries on for long enough that Virgil eventually decides to try interrupting with a cough. “I'm beginning to wish I specified which rules had Remus broken that you were asking about, but now I'm more confused over why I'm the one with anxiety when you've apparently been trying to fit relationships into all of those restrictions.”

“It doesn't come up often.” Roman stated, as if that was obvious and honestly, looking at Remus, he could believe that for Roman it was.

“You just fuck them and leave them, don't ya, Ro-ro.” Remus teased. “Just like all those years at school, charming everyone into bed to give them nothing.”

Roman spluttered backwards, “I would never! We knew what it was, always know when it's not going anywhere. I'd follow the rules if it was!”

“The rules are bullshit! You just don't actually want to date them and came up with rubbish hoops for everyone to jump through!” The goading continued, but Virgil could see it was actually upsetting Roman now.

“Everyone knows the rules! It's there in every story, movie, song, show, and play! Just because you refuse to follow any rule ever doesn't mean-” The rant, and the anger that had Roman leaping to his feet had Virgil standing as well.

“No. I didn't know those rules, and I doubt other people do to.” Virgil yells back, not meaning to raise his voice, but unable to help it with the energy in the room.

It makes Roman freeze however, especially when he registers it was Virgil who spoke, and definitely not in the teasing, known each other since childhood, manner Remus had. “You don't?”

“It's fine to not want romance, Roman. There's an identity, aromantic, for people who don't experience romantic attraction. You don't need to make a mile long list of rules for relationships in order to justify not being in one.” Virgil tries to explain, hesitating, but wanting to offer the idea of the label now, just in case.

“You don't have rules for relationships in your mind?” Roman asked again, blinking as if his worldview had entirely shifted.

Remus stood too now, shaking his head. “Never have.”

“Other people can not think about dating others? There aren't rules telling you when you should date someone?”

Virgil shook his head again, “Never have been.”

Roman blinked then, folding into himself down onto the floor. “I – I could be aromantic? I'm not broken because I don't like dating?”

“Definitely not broken. Why would you think that?” Remus asked, frowning now.

“Just- just some guy I was seeing said so. Said I'm like a robot trying to tick off all these things.” Roman muttered.

“Tell me a name and address and he'll be scared to look at anyone for a year!” Remus declared, jumping towards the kitchen now.

Virgil scoffed at the idea, instead going over to their film collection. “I think Roman needs more comfort than that. What film would help?” He offers.

“Something Disney?” Roman suggests, cringing as if realising just how many of those either fed into his rules of gave him so many expectations on himself of wanting one.

“Merida and Brave it is!” Virgil stated.

There are more that I can't think of right now but I'll update this list when I do. Now, on to what I am and am not comfortable with.

I'm ok with writing things that may be a bit more sensual but I have a hard no on doing sex scenes. I'm 17 and it's still a bit uncomfortable for me to read or write.

I am ok with, however, writing things that may be received by most as strictly a sex thing as long as it's not how you're asking me to write it. For example ABO, I have no problem with ABO because I've seen people use it as a way to explore societal biases and stereotyping in a very new and interesting way. Another thing might be nonsexual age play. As long as it's not sexualized in any way, I'm ok with writing certain things. I know some people use it as a way to cope with childhood trauma. If you have something like this, just let me know. I'm totally non-judgemental so no worries, I just am uncomfortable writing full-on smut but I don't shame anyone for their preferences.

I won't write any ships between a minor and an adult at all. This includes aging up/down a character for the pair to be the same age.

I will write polyamorous ships, non-heterosexual ships, and heterosexual ships. I'm way too indecisive to not be a multishipper so don't be shy to request a pairing just because it's not a common one.

I love AU's and if you manage to find an AU I haven't heard of or one that you've made up, feel free to explain it to me and I would be happy to write it for you.

I'm fine with writing OCs into other fandoms but I won't write any xY/N just because I have a hard time writing in second person POV.

I'll even write poems for your fandom(s). I've never seen anyone else do it but I think it would be a fun challenge.

I won't write any explicit self-harm or eating disorders or suicidal tendencies just for the hell of it, it would need to be a part of the source material or important to the plot. I've read too many fics where the author makes these things the character's entire personality just to infantilize the character.

I will write characters with mental disorders. For example, many people headcanon Sherlock as Autistic and like to project their symptoms onto him. I'm ok with writing this if it seems like it fits the character and you don't just want to make the character a baby.

I'm cool with writing angst and hurt no comfort. I'm also fine with writing gore.

I absolutely adore domestic fluff, it is my heart and soul.

I don't write crossovers just because I've never had much interest in them.

I can list at least three full animatics for this song for every major fandom I have ever been a part of, and still it's so hard to find them because there are so goddamn many

It's an absolute banger from the absolute King Alan Menken, originally from the pretty underrated Tangled the Series. I've seen animatics for this for like every fandom I can think of, and it deserves it because it slaps and has great vocal performances from Jeremy Jordan and Eden Espinosa.

i'm pretty sure this song is more well known than the show it came from is lol. i looked up "ready as i'll ever be animatic" on youtube just to confirm and counted 20+ of them, and i didn't even finish scrolling. it is a genuinely really good song from a /surprisingly/ good show that imo is super underrated. i definitely would recommend checking it out if you get the opportunity!

it's a fandom song that transcended its fandom and became a hit for twist villains.

The song really fosters creativity with how many animatics can create a darker AU where the usual protagonist (or a close associate) is made to be the antagonist because of injustice suffered and the other characters have to fight against them

I've seen *at least* one animatic of this song in almost every fandom I've looked into

It has a lot of Animaniacs because it is sung by an ensemble cast It is good for demonstrating a lot of different conflicting perspectives of characters for your big dramatic fight and its catchy and I love it

I mean everyone loves a scenario where one of the main cast becomes a villain for tragic reasons and the rest of the characters have to fight them while dealing with the betrayal and attempting to make them see reason

How in the actual hell does a song from a Tangled spinoff series go this spectacularly hard? More to the point, how does it have an animatic/AMV for practically EVERY FANDOM IN EXISTENCE?! Yeah, most people know it from that one Warrior Cats MAP, but there is SO much more. Not to mention the bucketloads of people who used this song for their own OCs, which is always a bonus.

I love horror, fantasy, sci-fi, and action/adventure, and actually wrote a handful of decently popular r/nosleep stories a few years ago. It's good to finally be posting again ((:

I do not write smut of any kind and tend to stay away from romance in general, but I don’t mind cute romantic fluff or heavy relationship-related angst if it comes down to it. my ever after / is holding you (Complete) -> One-shot, 18k -> Hermicraft/Evo, Third Life inspirations -> Grian/Scar -> Premise: Scar is the king, and Grian is his servant. Then someone decides kidnapping King Scar’s beloved servant was a good idea. It really wasn’t. (Cinderella inspired).

somewhere between the surface and the seabed (Complete) -> One-shot, 24K -> Hermitcraft -> Grian/Scar -> Premise: A mermay story. Grian is a siren and Scar is a sea witch. Miscommunication ensues. (The Little Mermaid inspired).

We Built This Town On Shaky Ground (Complete) -> One-shot, 1K -> Double Life -> Grian/Scar -> Premise: Grian kills BigB, and Scar is grateful. It saves him the trouble of having to do it himself.

He manages to get hopelessly tangled up in both Scar’s and HotGuy’s lives in every single one of them.

Golden and Lustrous (WIP) -> Multi-chaptered, 29K so far -> DSMP, SMP Earth -> Dark SBI -> Premise: Tommy can turn straw into gold. The Antarctic Empire takes interest. (Rumpelstiltskin inspired). 

Out Like A Light (Complete) -> Multi-chaptered, 156K -> DSMP -> Dark SBI, Bench Trio -> Premise: Technoblade, Philza, and Wilbur are gods, and Tommy is the reincarnation of their missing piece. 

where’s the person that i know?/they must have left (Discontinued)  -> Multi-chaptered, 16k -> DSMP -> SBI -> Premise: After Tommy dies in prison, he begins falling through alternate universes.

Batman

I Would Like You To Love Me (WIP) -> Multi-chapter, 4K so far -> Batman -> Tim & Jason, Batfam, Tim-centric -> Premise: Tim is a young mer suddenly tossed into the ocean after being raised in a tank his entire life. Luckily, an older male with a red and golden tail named Jason is here to show him how to survive.
