Oh my god it’s finally DONE! I hope you guys enjoy this! I have been working on this nonstop since May 10th. Even longer since I’ve had her story in the works since last year! Thank you IMMENSELY for the support over the last few weeks, I never would have actually finished this without your help! I hope you guys enjoy it!

Samura Jade is my Ninjago original character, this is episode one of hopefully a series of episodes. I hope that her lore is believable and matches the quality that is Ninjago. I intend and hope that I was able to tell a story that makes a believable supporting character.

So I’m probably going to answer some of my asks on here so that it doesn’t pile up on my art blog,

I will make an account to repost the Samura Jade episodes in order, in the meantime episode one is also on my youtube channel.

As I’m animating episode 2 I figured out a new stepping stone for the story later on, I had some conflicting issues about Mystake’s death that I now figured out what to do with it..

I received this ask a while ago and I can’t say everything but…

I struggled with the answer. I finally figured it out, holding some information but I will answer this as best as I can… so this of course is Ninjago season 9.

Samura Jade doesn’t exist for resurrected Garmadon, he didn’t have his memories at that time, Harumi was feeding him all his information. So he doesn’t know her nor does he remember her. Harumi hated Sensei Garmadon, so she wouldn’t have noticed his friends…

Now Harumi does say “this is Mystake, the shape shifting Oni I warned you about.” - So Harumi does know about Mystake, which means she would know about Jade.

But here’s the best part, Harumi doesn’t know Jade except her observations. Jade is simply an elderly woman who works at the tea shop, she can’t even walk without her walking stick, so obviously she couldn’t possibly do anything more…. Right?…. Harumi perhaps you shouldn’t be so quick to judge….

Samura Jade adjusts to her new life in Sensei Garmadon's Monastery, focusing on how to handle herself since the life-altering accident. For a fleeting moment she ponders if she could truly stay here... If only it was so simple.

This project may be on hold for while, I am moving in 4 days and being an intern so while I will still draw, this project may be delayed heavily in the next month, at least until I settle into my new environment. However this gives you plenty of time to audition.

I realized last night that maybe I should stop being a dummy by drawing the faces frame by frame, when I could draw them separately and then copy and paste it for voice animation, this is what it looks like now, which I consider a major improvement! The after video isn't finish yet so it lacks shading.
