Rhea rolled over looking for Jey’s touch, but she didn’t find it. She heard Jey seemingly trying to be quiet but he wasn’t being very quiet.

Come on, Uce, just pick up shit!

She sat up, throwing back her blanket and pushing her hair out of her face before standing up.

She walked around the room divider, watching him pace back and forth, still on the phone.

Jey, what are you doing? She said, rubbing her eyes as they adjusted to the light.

He got a claymore last night.

Who? She said, confused.

Jimmy I told his ass not to go over there, but fuck! He said to bring his phone away from his ear And now he won’t fucking answer me, damnit!

Jey, what time is it? He’s probably asleep.

It’s like 8:30 or some shit. I don’t know. He said calling him again.

Baby, just take a minute. He’ll call you when he can.

He’s still injured, and he took a claymore. I can’t take a minute; I’m going to try Naomi

Baby, she said, stepping towards him, if he’s not answering, she’s not either.

Why didn’t Roman help him? He was there; why didn’t he do something? He said his finger clicking around

She grabbed his phone from him, sitting it on the coffee table. Don’t call him.

He was there; he could have done something. Why didn’t he do something?

I don’t know, but calling him and asking isn’t going to help.

He grabbed his phone off the coffee table with a huff. All he cares about is Solo; that's all he fucking cares about, he said under his breath, walking past her.

She signed, turning around. Jey, she said sternly.

He stopped in his tracks, throwing his head back before turning around to face her, Yeah, he said, frustrated.

She walked over to him, grabbing his phone from him again. Don’t call Roman; you yelling at him about Jimmy isn’t going to make him call you.

He ran his hands over his face, sighing.

You need to take a fucking breath, baby.

I know I’m just worried.

I get that. Just take a deep breath. He’ll call you. He’s fine, I promise, baby.

He took a deep breath. I’m sorry I didn’t—

She placed a kiss on his lips before stepping away and putting his phone on her nightstand. If it rings, we hear it, okay?

Okay, he walked over and laid down next to her.

She moved into his arms; he held her tight, which he usually did when he was anxious.

He got touchy when he was anxious; she wasn’t the most touchy person, but for some reason she didn’t mind it.

His touch was something she craved, and he needed hers, so she let him have it; she let him hold her.

Jey was sitting backstage, his leg bouncing up and down as he watched Bron and Ludwig’s fight.

He was told to stay in this room and not to leave until they come get him.

He spun around in the office chair he was sitting in; he was so tired of Drew’s bullshit.

His head hit the back of the chair. God, he couldn’t wait to get out of this room. Drew got him, then Jimmy, then Sami,

And now he’s talking about 1 down, 4 to go. Drew was a problem with the way he was talking; they were going to have to handle it sooner rather than later.

But who knew when that would be given Roman was busy with Solo.

Shit! He ran a hand over his mouth. He still needed to talk to Roman; they both had been pretty busy, so he hadn’t found the time to have a chat with him.

To be honest, he wasn’t in a rush to have that talk; he didn’t want Rhea to worry, but he didn’t know how Roman would feel.

It’s not like he hadn’t met his other girlfriends, but the others haven’t been in their business. It was different Rhea knew him they worked with the judgement day from a minute.

There was a knock on his door.

Come in! He shouted as he stopped his chair facing the door. Damian walked in with his jacket hood up.

Hey, you I didn’t know your ass was here.

I’m not supposed to be, so he said, taking off his hood and sitting on the couch. So what have you been up to?

Shiiit, nothing. They got my ass stuck in this damn room all day 'cause I ain’t supposed to be here either, well, not till next week, he joked.

Aye I wasn’t supposed to be here till the end of the show, so I get it.

You here for Finn?

He nodded his head. Mm-hmm, they got the main event tonight, so he shrugged his shoulders.

I feel you, uce. I get it; he rubbed his chin. So, um, did Rhea talk to you?

Yeah, she did, he said, sitting up.

Good shit, good shit. He cleared his throat. What did she say?

She said you came over to her house and said you loved her. Damian said, sitting his arms up on his knees.

He raised his eyebrow. You do? He said with a grin.

Yeah, he said, sitting back in his chair. And before you give me that whole ”If you hurt her, I’ll hurt you” bullshit or whatever, I don’t have any interest in hurting her.

You hurt her last week.

Damian I didn’t mean to hurt her. I wasn’t thinking about her in that moment, but now I am, and I won’t hurt her again. I promise that shit.

He sat up on the edge of his chair. Alright, I don’t use that word lightly, okay? When I say it, I mean it.

And I get you care a lot about her. but, uce, respectfully, this shit isn’t your business. He said, sitting back against his chair,

Damian's eyebrows were raised, his head slightly nodding. Alright then, I’ll stay out of it.

Okay, uce.

That was another knock on the door. Rhea opened it with a big smile on her face.

Oh, what did you do? He said both of them turning their attention to her.

Nothing! I called it how I see it; she sat down next to Damian on the couch.

Mmm, that’s not any better, babygirl.

A subtle blush came across her face, which made him smile. She was gorgeous, and she was even more gorgeous when she blushed.

Okay, you both are ridiculous, and I got to go, so I’ll see you in a bit.

Alright, make them lose.

That’s the plan, he said as he stood up.

Rhea was looking at him with a curious expression. What was that about?

You know what I just realized? She said, pulling away from him.

What? He said, pulling her legs into his lap.

This is the last time I’m going to see you until the tour.

It isn’t, is it? he said with a grin.

Not that! We’re not going to fuck at work. She said whispering. 

He sucked his teeth. Fine I’ll wait till we leave.

She moved into his lap. I love you.

I love you too, and I love this outfit. He grabbed her thighs and pulled her closer.

He felt a shiver down his spine and a tingling in his pants. I can wait.

She brought her hand into his hair, giving it a gentle tug, pulling a low groan from him.

I’ll see you later, love. She stood up, blowing him a kiss before walking out the door, leaving him there.

"Patchwork Hearts"

*This long awaited fic is for my two best friends/sisters and greatest supporters @afterdarkprincess and @thlayli-ra who've cheered me on and gave me confidence to continue writing! Love you both!*

“OK Sami you got this!” Sami says to himself as he laces up his boots. He has a huge match coming up against Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship and at Wrestlemania too! He knows Gunther is gonna be difficult to beat but people always underestimated Sami and he proved them wrong every time. “You can beat him! You got the fans on your side!” He says, not knowing someone is coming up behind him.

“Boo!” someone says as they grab Sami's shoulders from behind, startling Sami. “Merde!” Sami says, causing him to fall off the bench. He can hear the mystery person laughing and looks behind him to see it's his boyfriend Ludwig. “You're so easy to scare dandelion!” Ludwig says through giggles, causing Sami to smile. He loves that he's the only one that gets to see the soft side of his boyfriend.

“Love to know I get to see you laugh before I get murdered!” Sami says with a laugh of his own. “Already throwing in the metaphorical towel meine liebe?” Ludwig asks as he sits on the bench. “No violet, I think I'm just a bit nervous! I'll get over it in the next twenty minutes!” Sami says as he tries to get up but is stopped by Ludwig. “Sami, you stay right where you are and turn around so I can get you ring ready! Do I make myself clear löwenzahn?” Ludwig says authoritatively but with a smile.

“Yes sir!” Sami says with a small salute and turns around. Ludwig just giggles as he pulls out a hairbrush and a hair tie from his makeup bag. “You deserve this moment Sami” Ludwig says as he starts brushing Sami's hair. “You think so?” Sami asks curiously. “Schatz, you of all people should know you deserve this! You have worked your ass off time and time again to get a shot at this title and you earned it! I know Gunther is a tough man to beat but you're even tougher to put down!” Ludwig says encouragingly as he continues brushing Sami's hair.

“Is that why you call me a dandelion all the time?” Sami says with a laugh. “Well yes also because your hair is fluffy and you're stubborn to get rid of” Ludwig says truthfully as he puts some of Sami's hair up in a little bun. Without warning, Sami turns around and pulls Ludwig off the bench and onto his lap. “Have you ever tried getting rid of me?” Sami asks curiously as he holds Ludwig close to him.

“Sami, if I wanted to get rid of you I would've done so already” Ludwig says truthfully, causing Sami to laugh. “That's fair! God, I'm so happy I get to spend Wrestlemania with you Ludwig” Sami says affectionately as they both get off the floor. “You deserve this moment, Sami” Ludwig says sweetly. “I'm just glad I get to enjoy it with you Ludwig” Sami says sweetly as well. “Remember, if you don't win then know that you'll still be a winner to me” Ludwig says with a smile.

“How did I get so lucky with you?” Sami asks with a laugh. “I could ask the same thing” Ludwig says which causes him to laugh as well. “Sami, you're up in three minutes” a tech girl says as she eats her doughnut and walks away. Ludwig sighs which catches Sami's attention. “Something wrong?” Sami asks curiously, Ludwig shaking his head “no” in response. “I just wish that I could come out with you instead of him” Ludwig says sadly.

“You gotta be patient violet, when the beast is slayed then you'll be free!” Sami says enthusiastically. “Since when did you start being poetic?” Ludwig asks jokingly. “I guess being around you for so long made me a bit more sophisticated” Sami says, causing Ludwig to roll his eyes. He was about to say something back til Sami's theme music hit. Sami was about to say something until Ludwig kissed him deeply. “How did you know?” Sami asks with a blush.

“Cause I know you dandelion, now go out there and show everyone who the underdog is!” Ludwig says encouragingly. “God, I love you” Sami says as he gives Ludwig a quick kiss and nearly slips when running to his spot. “I love you too you idiot!” Ludwig yells with a smile as he gets himself ready, not knowing that Gunther was watching in the shadows.

He did it…Sami won! He gave Gunther a Helluva Kick, pinned him and won. Ludwig grabbed the belt and slid into the ring next to Sami. “I believe this is yours?” Ludwig asks with a proud smile. “Mind putting it on me ma violette?” Sami says, desperately trying to contain his excitement. Ludwig nods as he gets behind Sami and clasps the belt around his boyfriend's waist. When he comes back around, Sami picks him up and spins him around. “I can't believe I did it!” Sami says with a big smile.

“You deserve it so much Sami” Ludwig says sweetly as he kisses Sami in the middle of the ring. One minute they're enjoying the moment the next Ludwig is thrown into a ring post. He feels blood dripping down his face as he hears Sami screaming. He opens his eyes and sees Gunther beating the hell out of Sami. “You think just because you beat me that you're special? You are nothing but a pest!” Gunther yells as he kicks Sami in the ribs.

Ludwig shakes the cobwebs from his eyes and springs into action. He pushes Gunther away and stands in front of Sami as a way of protecting him. “Leave him alone!” Ludwig screams. “Why are you defending him? He's a loser! A joke!” Gunther says. “It's because I love him that's why! He's the only person that made me feel like a person unlike you!” Ludwig says confidently, which angers Gunther.

“I have given you everything you worthless little wretch! I made you! I brought you here to be a soldier yet you let this parasite get to you and make you soft! It's a good thing your mother is dead so she doesn't have to see her son end up as a useless stupid whore just like she was!” Gunther says cruelly, which makes Ludwig's blood boil. Ludwig balls his fist up and slugs Gunther right in the jaw, knocking the Ring General to the ground.

“You leave her name out of your fucking mouth! You stay away from Sami and you stay away from me cause I'm done with you! Auf Wiedersehen Schlampe!” Ludwig announces as he turns around and rushes to Sami. “Are you ok meine liebe?” Ludwig asks worryingly as he checks for any life-threatening injuries. Before he gets a response, Gunther grabs him by the back of the neck and chokeslams into the mat. “You think that you can hit the Ring General and can get away with it? You are nothing!” Gunther screams as he wraps his hands around Ludwig's throat.

Ludwig tries to claw away Gunther's hands from choking him but to no avail. He feels tears streaming down his cheeks as his vision starts to go dark. He thought this was the end until he heard someone's theme music play. He sees a blue and white blur go after Gunther which causes the man to release his grip. Ludwig gasps for air and closes his eyes hoping this will end soon. “Come on cutie, you ain't dying yet!” A voice says as they help Ludwig to his feet.

Ludwig opens his eyes to see Seth Rollins helping him as well as Cody Rhodes helping Sami while Jey Uso neutralizes Gunther. Sami and Ludwig are escorted out of the ring by Team Yeet. “Don't worry guys, we're almost near medical” Cody says reassuringly. “Damn Ludwig, didn't know you had it in you uce!” Jey says in shock. “Yeah, that was pretty amazing cutie” Seth says with a smile, causing Ludwig to blush. They finally make it to medical and the other men set Ludwig and Sami onto the table.

“Sit tight guys, we're gonna go find a doctor!” Cody says nicely. “Yeah, just don't die before we come back alright?” Jey asks teasingly, receiving a smack to the arm by Seth. “They're gonna be fine Jey! Also good luck Sami” Seth says with a wink as he ushers the other two out the room. “What did he mean by that?” Ludwig asks curiously. “Nothing! He meant nothing! Now, back to what we were doing!” Sami says as he puts Ludwig in his lap and smothers him with kisses.

“You did it violet! You slayed the monster!” Sami says with a big smile on his face. Ludwig gives off a big smile himself before realizing what he just did. “Holy fuck what did I do?!?!” Ludwig says as he starts to panic. “Woah violet, calm down and tell me what's wrong” Sami asks as he gently grabs Ludwig's hands. “Gunther brought me into the United States meaning he has the power to deport me at any time! Now that I've attacked him, I'm gonna be deported for sure because I don't have a green card!” Ludwig says through tears.

“It's ok violet! I think I have a way to solve that problem” Sami says with a blush. “What do you mean?” Ludwig asks through sniffles. “I wanted to do this in the ring but this is even better” Sami says sweetly as he pulls a ring box out of his pocket. Ludwig gasps when he sees a golden band with three purple violets on top. “Sami” Ludwig says quietly as he feels himself crying again. “Ludwig Kaiser, will you make me the happiest man in the world and marry me?” Sami says with hope in his eyes.

“Ich liebe dich!” Ludwig says happily as he straddles Sami's lap and kisses him deeply. “Je t'aime aussi” Sami says happily as he puts the ring on his new fiance's finger. “You really waited til I got a black eye and my face covered in blood to do this?” Ludwig asks with a smile. “Violet, I wouldn't have you any other way” Sami says with a goofy smile, causing Ludwig to roll his eyes. “I can't believe I'm marrying a goofball” Ludwig says with a laugh as he kisses Sami again. He whimpered when Sami started kissing and nibbling his neck.

“Lemme guess he said yes?” Seth says with a laugh, causing Sami and Ludwig to freeze. “Yeah, he did” Sami says shyly as Ludwig proudly shows off his engagement ring. “The doctor will be coming shortly but after that I say we go out and celebrate the happy couple's engagement! My treat!” Cody offers happily. “I'm down for anything that involves Cody paying the bill!” Seth says with a laugh. “Now hold on uce, before we do any of that I gotta know. Ludwig, I know you not in a faction anymore but how we know that you ain't gonna break my boy's heart huh?” Jey asks seriously.

“Jey!” Sami says but is stopped by Ludwig when he tries to say more. Ludwig gets up and is face-to-face with Jey. He puts his arms straight out and slowly moves them up and down. “Yeet” Ludwig says with a nervous smile. Jey smiles wide as he pulls Ludwig into a crushing hug. “Welcome to the family uce!” Jey says happily as he squeezes Ludwig. “Jey, I think you're crushing him” Sami says worryingly. “Oops sorry uce” Jey says as he lets go of Ludwig. “Welcome to the squad Ludwig” Cody says proudly.

“Get ready for a lot of wacky shit to happen all the time!” Seth says with his signature laugh. “Is this gonna be like this all the time?” Ludwig asks Sami with a giggle. “Yeah, one of the perks of being with me!” Sami says happily. “God I can't wait to marry you” Ludwig says happily as they kiss one more time. Both men can't wait for the future they're gonna have together.

"Little Violet"

*slight angst and mentions of childhood trauma/abuse and panic attacks and Google translate might need to be used for some words*

"Scheisse!" Ludwig screamed as the knife sliced his hand. He was making dinner for him and his boyfriend Sami while the latter was doing laundry in the other room. He watched as the crimson liquid spilled quickly down from his hand and dripped onto the cutting board. He then realized what happened... he made a mistake and to Ludwig, mistakes mean punishment and he's certain that Sami will hurt him this time (even though Sami has never done it before.) Ludwig started to hyperventilate and dropped onto the floor and started to rock himself, not caring that he was smearing blood all over his clothes.

Everyone assumes that "The Ludwig Kaiser", right hand man to the "Ring General" Gunther, wouldn't be so worried about a simple accident to his hand... boy were they fucking wrong. His problems stem from his early childhood... he was a middle class boy growing up in Germany with a loving mother and a hard working father. His mother, Amelia, was a loving and caring woman that had the kindest heart. She loved Ludwig with all her heart and Ludwig sometimes believed that she was an angel sent from above to protect him. His father, Hugo, was a hard working man who believed that being tough was how you succeed in life, he also had a temper that only Amelia could control. One unfortunate day, Amelia got sick with pneumonia and died later on that night... that was the night that Ludwig's problems began. Hugo drank heavily that night and he blamed Ludwig for his wife's death, that his son was to blame for losing the love of his life just because Ludwig was in the same room as her. So he started beating Ludwig with that same bottle until he got sick of his sons pathetic crying and left the room. From that day on, Ludwig was beaten black and blue for every little mistake he made by his father. Ludwig was now terrified of making mistakes and would succumb to panic attacks that led to him to go unconscious from lack of air if he ever made said mistakes.

Currently, Ludwig had his head between his knees and was violently shaking while hyperventilating. "I'm such an idiot!" Ludwig thought while grabbing his hair and making his hair pink from the blood. His vision was starting to blacken around the edges and all the noises around him sounded muffled. "He's gonna leave me for sure! He's gonna beat me until I'm unrecognizable and then he's gonna leave me!" he thought as his head was starting to pound. He was too into his own head to hear Sami's footsteps and see the concerned look on his boyfriends face. "Ludwig... Ludwig... Ludwig!" the sound of Sami's voice is what got Ludwig out of his own scary thoughts. "Ludwig, chéri, what happened?" Sami said (he already pieced together what happened based on seeing the blood covered cutting board and the bloody knife but he wanted Ludwig to tell him.) "I-I was cutting s-some carrots so I can u-use them for tonights dinner, b-but my hand slipped and I cut my h-hand on the knife. I-I'm sorry! Please don't h-hurt me!" Ludwig begged to Sami with tears in his eyes.

Sami cupped his hands over Ludwig's cheeks and wiped his stream of tears with his thumbs. "Violet, you know I would never hurt you right? Now take some deep breaths for me ok?" Sami said with a calm tone. Ludwig blushed at the nickname but took some deep breaths and his heartbeat was starting to go back to normal. "There we go, there's my little violet now let me see your hand so I can bandage it up and then get you into some new clothes ok?" Sami said with a sweet smile. Ludwig now knew that Sami wouldn't hurt him so he pulled his hand out to show the cut to Sami. Sami gently grabbed Ludwig's hand and gently kissed the cut which made Ludwig blush even more. "It doesn't look that bad and the bleeding has stopped but we still gotta bandage it up and put some peroxide on it so it doesn't get infected" Sami said while he gently takes Ludwig's hand and takes him to the bathroom.

"I'm sorry you have to do this schatz" Ludwig said sadly. Sami finished bandaging up Ludwig's hand and looked at his boyfriend with a loving smile. "Don't be sorry mon amour, it was a little mistake and I know you still have your moments and just know that I will never leave you and I most certainly will never harm you because I love you violet" Sami said and then kissed Ludwig's forehead which caused him to go red all over. Sami then got Ludwig into a new change of clothes and then ushered them to the bed where he cuddled Ludwig from behind. "You're so special to me violet" Sami said while kissing Ludwig's temple. "I always wondered Sami... why do you always call me violet?" Ludwig questioned. Sami gave him a loving smile. "Well violets are elegant and beautiful and that's what reminds me of you" he said which made Ludwig blush. "O-oh, well I never thought of myself like that but I do love it" Ludwig said then turned to hug Sami. "I'm glad you love it violet, now how about we order some takeout from that one Italian place and watch some cheesy romance movies on hallmark" Sami said while hugging Ludwig and kissing his forehead. Ludwig nodded and kissed Sami deeply. "I'd love that very much, Ich liebe dich mein Schatz" Ludwig said with adoration. "Je t'aime aussi ma violette" Sami said as he kissed Ludwig again with adoration and love. Ludwig was glad he found someone like Sami who gave him so much love while Sami was happy he could give all his love to his little violet.

"Happy Birthday Dandelion"

*I'm hitting you guys with another SamLud fic for Sami's birthday! Happy birthday Sami you ginger angel!*

Ludwig was busy mixing the cake batter when he felt strong arms wrap around his waist and Sami's head looking over his shoulder. "What are you doing violet?" Sami asked as he kissed Ludwig's cheek. Ludwig immediately blushed at the nickname and from the kiss while trying not to spill the bowl. "Well schatz it is your birthday today right? So it's my duty as your loving boyfriend to make you a cake for said occasion" Ludwig said proudly. "Violet, you know you don't have to go through all this trouble just for my birthday... I would've been happy receiving a cake from you that you bought from the store" Sami said while hugging Ludwig from behind.

Ludwig looked at him with a look mixed with shock and disgust. "You really think I? Ludwig Kaiser! Would give the love of my life a mere pathetic representation of a pastry that looked like it was found inside a dumpster and beaten with a stick? Absolutely not! It's your birthday and you deserve to have a cake made by yours truly! Do I make myself clear schatz?" Ludwig said giving Sami a serious look. "He's cute when he's mad" Sami thought but nodded his head in agreement. "Good! Now can you please pass me the liqueur" he said which gave Sami a confused look. "Don't you mean liquor chérie?" Sami asked. "It's pronounced liqueur but yes I need the liquor" Ludwig said with a smile as Sami passed him the liquid.

As Ludwig poured the liqueur into the mix and started stirring he felt Sami's eyes burning into his back. "If you keep staring at me it will take longer for me to finish it meine liebe" he said while looking at Sami's flustered face. "O-oh yeah right! I-I'll just go wait at the table til you're ready!" Sami said then he kissed Ludwig's cheek and ran which caused Ludwig to chuckle. "How I ever ended up with that man will always be a mystery to me" Ludwig thought with a smile as he put the cake in the oven and set the timer for an hour.

Sami was sitting at the dining room table anxiously waiting for Ludwig to bring him his cake. When Ludwig put the tray on the table Sami was in awe. It was a yellow cake with cream in the middle and topped with honey and almonds. "This looks delicious violet! What is it?" Sami asked while not tempting to ruin the perfect cake. "It's a Bienenstich or normally called a German Bee Sting Cake and it was rumored to be created by German bakers from the 15th century who lobbed beehives at raiders from a neighboring village, successfully repelling them, and celebrated later by baking a version of this cake named after their efforts.” Ludwig said with a blush on his face.

"I can't wait to try it! But I don't wanna ruin it so maybe you could feed it to me? It is my birthday" Sami said with a smile. Ludwig blushed and sat in Sami's lap and cut a piece of the cake and fed it to him. Ludwig swore that he saw stars in Sami's eyes when he ate his first bite. "Violet... this is delicious! You're an amazing baker!" he said which caused Ludwig to blush. "I'm glad you like it! Alles Gute zum Geburtstag Löwenzahn" he said while giving Sami kisses. "What does that mean violet?" Sami said with crumbs all over his mouth causing Ludwig to giggle. "It means happy birthday dandelion" he said while wiping Sami's face which caused Sami to blush. "With you violet, this was the best birthday ever" he said then he kissed Ludwig deeply. Ludwig was happy he gave his dandelion the best birthday ever while Sami was happy he got to spend it with his violet.

Summary: After witnessing a show of affection between Rick and you, Daryl becomes jealous.

The morning air was crispy as Daryl left the armory, tugging at his jacket as he hoisted the bow over his shoulder. He had become a little antsy from being inside Alexandria for a few weeks and wanted to go out on a run. Of course when you heard about his plan, you asked if you could join with that warm smile that made him feel some kind of way. He hardly could admit it to himself let alone you, that he had feelings for you. It was something that happened gradually over time, starting at the prison and now he could barely look at you without blushing. But that hadn’t stopped him from getting close to you, in the ways he knew how to. Teaching you how to shoot and track in the woods, helping you secure the walls of Alexandria and letting you mend his wounds when he didn’t let the others do it. You’d always start conversations when doing these things with him and more often than not, he’d find himself opening up to you in a way he hadn't with anyone else.

Starting toward the house you shared with Rick and the others, Daryl could not help but feel satisfied with himself. He was getting alone time with you and that was always something to look forward to. Brushing a strand of hair away from his eyes, Daryl stopped in his tracks when he saw you on the lawn with Rick, who had Judith in his arms. You were tickling the little girl and she was giggle loud enough that he could hear from the distance he stood at. He wanted to smile, because he loved that little girl but the look on Rick’s face as he watched you with his daughter killed him.

You were smiling bright, watching as Rick placed Judith on the grass so she could play with her toys. Daryl started to move but stopped again when Rick placed a hand on your shoulder. He was telling you something, leaning his body a little into yours and jealousy gripped Daryl’s chest.

He had no right to feel this way but when you leaned into Rick for a hug, a real embrace that lasted more than thirty seconds, he had to turn and walk the other direction.

You watched as Judith giggled in her father’s arm and when Rick placed her down, the man turned his attention to you. His hand touched your shoulder as he graciously thanked you for watching over his daughter.

“It means a lot, she loves having you around.”

“Come on, Rick, I love you guys. I’d do anything for Carl, Judith and you.”

“We’re lucky to have you.”

Grinning, you pulled the man into a tight embrace. He had done so much for you, keeping you alive for so long and you would do anything to return the favor.

Hugging him, you sighed contently. “You sure are.”

The two of you parted and Rick gave you a knowing look. Glaring at him, you asked what was wrong and he smiled that smile of his with a little shrug.

“Just thinkin’ Daryl would be lucky to have you too.”

With wide eyes you smacked the man’s shoulder, because it embarrassed you when Rick teased about your crush on Daryl. You hadn’t made it apparent but a few weeks after getting use to being in Alexandria, you had gotten drunk on some wne Aaron had. Rick had been on the porch when you stumbled home, he laughed and helped you up, asking if you had a good time.

“I only went because I thought Daryl would be there…”

“Nah, you know he isn’t much of a social butterfly.”

“Figures,” you muttered, clinging to Rick as he lead you to one of the chairs on the porch. He helped you sit down and he kneeled in front of you, hand on the wooden rest. He smiled up at you and your eyes squinted, asking what the look was for.

“I just realized you have a thing for Daryl,” he said smugly.

You wanted to deny it, but the alcohol wasn’t having it, so you just pressed a finger up against his lips . “You say a word Rick Grimes and you are walker chow.”

Zipping up your green jacket since it was a bit chilly, you walked beside Daryl alongside the train tracks. His bow was nestled up on his shoulders and you watched in the corner of your eyes as he stopped and looked around before pointing to the right.

“Come on, let’s go see if we can find something in those houses down the road.”

You respond quietly and followed the man, noticing that he wasn’t very talkative today - of course, Daryl was not one to talk someone’s ear off, but usually the two of you had pretty good banter. Clearing your throat you moved closer to him and asked if he was cold.

“Nah, it’s not too bad. You good?”

“I’m fine.”

He gave out a low grunt and remained quiet for a moment until he said something you could barely hear. You glanced at him and asked what he said, and when he did, you laughed.

Daryl thought Rick and you were an item, because he saw the two of you hugging?

Your laugh rang in the man’s ears as he marched on, leaving you behind until you shuffled after him. Grabbing a hold of his shoulder, you pulled him back and demanded he look at you.

“Daryl.”

Repeating his name twice, he finally turned to look at you. His hair was in his eyes and you thought how handsome he looked beneath the dark hair and mild scowl. Stepping closer to him, you shivered from a cool breeze as you reached up to brush away the hair. Daryl didn’t flinch as your fingers touched his forehead and when your lips formed a warm smile, his face softened.

“Rick is like a brother to me, there’s nothing going on there.”

“No?”

“No,” you laughed quietly, cupping his face with your hands. “There’s only one person I want and I hate to break the news to you, but it’s you, Daryl.”

The archer scoffed but didn’t move away, instead he laid his hands on your waist and held back a grin.

“Nah, I don’t believe it.”

Rolling your eyes, you gently pulled his face closer to yours. His eyes focused on you as you inhaled slowly and smirked. “You better believe it, Dixon.”
