Well it’s that time of year again! I just wanted to tell anyone who might find this post a little bit about myself and who I am. Im literally just a small town nobody who shares her own ideas and practices on the internet. I am no teacher, in fact I’m still a student. I’ve only really had my hands in the craft for 6 years, and in truth I think that still makes me a baby. Take all that I post lightly, I only post the ideas I come up with for myself in hopes it might inspire others.
When I first started doing spells and rituals (I usually refer to spells/rituals as “altar sessions”) I would copy other rituals and spells I found online and in books. This helped me to get an understanding of what I was doing, which magical tool is used for what and the art of writing incantations. But copying rituals and spells stressed me out. I had to have everything prepared ahead of time and If one thing went wrong, if I didn’t do it exactly the way it had to be done, I believed that all the magic would be lost and the spell/ritual would be ineffective.
One night, after a busy week, I looked up at the night sky and saw that the moon had gone completely dark. It was a New Moon night and I’d forgotten all about it. I didn’t prepare or look into any spells or rituals to preform. At that time, I was doing all these intricate spells and rituals every new and full moon. Something I learned eventually was not all that sustainable. Anyway, that night I sat in front of my altar with zero preparation for what I was about to do. I had no choice but to let my intuition call the shots, and that’s what I did.
That was the altar session that helped me to realize that all the stress and preparation that I did every month, twice a month, was what was really draining the magic from every altar session I’ve ever had until that night. This altar session was the most powerful one I’d ever had, and I walked away feeling more connecting to the higher powers that, I believe, pull the strings. With all the knowledge and information I acquired from the spells and rituals I’d found online and in books, I decided to start letting my intuition do the work, and I’ve been doing that ever since.
The things I share are all the spells/rituals I’ve done using my intuition. I go back to these rites often and I reuse them because they work for me. Last year I decided to start sharing them. I don’t share them because I recommend that this is what you have to do. I share them because when I was just starting out, it was the information I found online and in books that helped me to start crafting my own altar sessions. It is my hope that maybe my posts can help inspire others who are just starting out, like I was 6 years ago.
You do not have to copy anything to a T. You can switch things up and make it your own altar session using the things that speak to you the most. Let your intuition be your guide and remember that the magic is not lost, as long as you believe in it. Don’t stress yourself out over perfection, because perfection simply does not exist. To me, the craft is essentially the act of using earthly materials, (whether it be tools, herbs, words, images, visualization or meditation) to connect to the divine, or whatever higher power you believe in. You have complete freedom to mix and match whatever you’d like in order to establish your special connection with the divine.
If someone tells your you’re doing it wrong, don’t take that to heart. As long as you are not harming others or the earth, there is no wrong way to practice your craft. You are doing just fine and you’ll only get better as time goes on.
Happy New Year ♥️

hope u all had a good Samhain/Halloween <3
i did a tender and thoughtful intuitive ritual, in which i used my own menstrual blood as a portal for the dead. my body always seems to know exactly when to shed. i love my serpent sorcery.
it got unexpectedly emotional, i met and held the hands of ancestors and said proper goodbyes to deceased loved ones. i sat with them as they went ahead on their journey, with Kali keeping them safe.
and now, they're gone. poured into a local river to return to source, Divine Mother Goddess. back to her womb, they rest.

Samhain ritual
you'll need 13 candles, and a good long cleansing bath for this ritual & make it fun to do.
Casting Instructions:
You can wear a weapon as you like to emphasize the power that you have over those who are not of this world. Put three candles on the altar and five others of seasonal colors before the altar. A pentagram should be marked on the ritual area, centered on the spot where you will be sitting before the altar. It would be appropriate to place a pumpkin and some ears of corn to one side of the altar and a cauldron or suitable substitute on the other side. Put some salt and bread on the pentacle and a cup of wine. (Use a wine you will happily drink)Use some incense liberally throughout the ceremony.
1) You should take a cleansing bath before the ritual. When you are ready to begin, meditate for a while on the fact that the veil between the worlds is thin and that for centuries past, other witches have done this ritual before. When ready, light the three candles on the altar and say:
* (Candle 1) “This I light for the Maiden's bright glory.”
* (Candle 2) “This I light for the passion and triumph of the Lady.”
* (Candle 3) “This for the wisdom of the Crone”
2) Light the incense, and then the five candles which sit before the altar, saying:
“These do I light in honor Not only of the Three-Fold Goddess But for Her strong, horned consort. He who is sometimes laughing, sometimes grim And close nearby on this night.”
-Stand, pointing your wand out before you, calling:
“On this, the sacred night of Samhain, I build this small temple In honor of the Goddess, and of the God And of the Ancient Ones From the times before Time. To all, I do give my love And my warmest greetings.”
3) Place the five candles at the point of the pentagram, touching each with the wand. Rap thrice upon the altar with the wand, then replace it. Kneel and hold out your arms out over it, crossed, and give the incantation:
This is a time that is not a time In a place that is not a place On a day that is not a day Between the worlds And beyond...
-Pause for the space of 13 heartbeats. Then hold your hands over the salt, bread, and wine in an attitude of blessing, and say:
For this salt, bread, and wine Do I ask the blessings Of Maiden, of Lady, of Crone And of the Horned One Who guards the Portal of the Worlds
-Take the bread and touch it to the salt, saying:
May I, and those whom I love Have sufficiency and good health.
-After eating the bread, take the wine cup and hold it forth in a toast toward the north, saying:
May our spirits be strong.
-Drink the wine, and proclaim:
By the Threefold Goddess And the Horned God So be it!
4) When you feel that the ritual should end, put out the candles beginning with those on the pentagram and say:
Though these flames Of the material world Be darkened, They shall ever burn In the worlds beyond. The rite is ended!

Samhain Ancestor Prayer
Beloved Ancestors, on this night,
Hear my plea to take flight.
On this eve when the veil is thin,
All well wishers are welcomed in.
Protect me from beings that wish me ill,
I honor you tonight, with ritual and frill.
As you join me tonight, gratitude fills me.
Welcome ancestors, and blessed be.

A seasonal accompaniment to my Samhain candles, this new ritual oil has the same herbal profile - dried apples, calendula, thyme, blessed thistle, hawthorn berries, cinnamon, coffee beans, rustic tobacco leaf, and other herbs, resins, and botanicals associated with Samhain and offerings to the dead. I made this small batch last Samhain, letting it macerate a full year.
Samhain is the night when the veil between worlds falls away and we commune with our ancestors and spirits. Samhain is the doorway between the living and the dead and we honor them on this sacred day.
This ritual oil can be used to dress candles, tool consecration, anointing, ritual bathing, as an offering, and to invoke or evoke spirits.

Samhain Tea Ritual
By Whisper in the Wood
It is fall, and deep in the ancient groves of the enchanted wood, a woman gathers earthy roots and plump, fragrant mushrooms. She places them in her basket beside wild ruby-red rose hips, juicy dark-purple elderberries, and silvery mugwort gifted by the hedges.
Her hooded woolen cloak brushes against the soft ferns that line the path over spongy moss and pine needles as she makes her way home. There, at the edge of the wood, her small stone cottage is surrounded by goldenrod and purple aster swaying in the breeze. A black cat in the doorframe mews, eagerly awaiting her return. As the teakettle heats over the hearth fire, she crafts a Samhain tea blend with the flora and fungi she’s foraged in the wood. This autumnal tea ritual honors the bounties of harvest time and celebrates the Triple Goddess, who now begins her seasonal transformation from Mother to Crone. The spirit ancestors whisper to her from beyond the veil, which is at its thinnest this time of year.
Join her and the collective of ancestors who came before you by putting together your own Samhain tea ritual celebrating and honoring the vibrancy of autumn, the abundant gifts of the harvest, and the deep love given to and received by one’s ancestors in spirit.

A simple Samhain remembrance. Can be done by itself, or as part of a longer ritual. Add candles, photos, mementos, etc. of loved ones who have passed away to your altar. This is worded for a group ritual; feel free to modify it for a solitary ritual.
***
In the West is the Land of the Dead, to which many of our loved ones have gone for rest and renewal. On this night, we hold communion with them; I call upon all of you, my brothers and sisters, to hold the image of these loved ones in your hearts and minds, that our welcome may reach out to them in the resting-place between life and life.
Dark Mother, Goddess of Death and Rebirth, On this night when the gateway between the worlds is thinnest We call out to those who came before us. Let our dear ones who have passed through the veil Return this night to make merry with us. And when our time comes, as it must to all things, We will rest and be refreshed among our dear ones, and be reborn again. Let it be in the same place and the same time as our beloved ones, And may we meet, and know, and remember, And love them again. On this night as the Wheel of the Year turns once more, We cycle into darkness. At the end of that darkness comes light. And when it arrives, we will celebrate once more.
(Allow time to meditate and share memories of loved ones, then proceed with the rest of your riual as desired.)

Very much craving a heavy duty Halloween ritual. If yall have any crazy fun ideas on spirit communication, spirit flight, spirit sight, ect. Please share!
Plan on making a very safe flying ointment of wormwood and mugwort but if there is anything i should know about those herbs or medicine interactions that would be helpful. Pretty sure its safe for me but better safe than sorry.
