ithink hearing that someone thinks liam would listen to cavetown caused me actual damage. like i feel like my hp just went down. this guy works in an office and listens to black metal and would apparently 'name a cat something practical, like Fluffy.' he feels like the epitome of the : | type autism . he would never listen to cavetown . i hope this ask isnt weird or silly but like i have a phd in studying liam . i genuinely study the source material soooooo much to make sure i mischaracterize him as LITTLE as possible and the amount that he is depicted as 'cute' by fans is like PAINFUL . i have 'obsessed w accuracy' autism so im like augh he would NOT fucking say that . i undeerstand so much (also sending this in an ask bc i agree with you SO much but i am NOT ready to put how much i hate ones fanon on my blog bc i feel like its batting at a hornets nest w how much people stick to it. you are so brave for posting abt it its unreal)
YOURE RIGHT THOUGH. idk what it IS but so many people. cutesify him?? infantilize him?? idk how to explain it. i dont wanna be too mean bc its usually just a young kid projecting onto a character they like but like. seeing people say liam listens to cavetown and lemon demon and likes kidcore and plays animal crossing and cries when people yell at him (which like this isnt even just a personal thing for me its completely against how he is in canon) and is a Sweet Soft Sensitive baby who can do no wrong gives me psychic damage. like I Know there are people irl who like these things. i myself like these things!! im not saying that theyre bad or its "cringe" to like them because frankly i disagree with cringe culture fundamentally. but these weird cutesy headcanons for him like he isnt a severely traumatized ADULT man (who is definitely neurodivergent dont even @ me) just feel wrong to me especially when they completely disregard what kind of person he is in canon. im not saying people arent allowed to have these interpretations but im just putting it out there that i dont agree with them and they make me uncomfortable sometimes 😭
and of course im not saying that *my* interpretation is the only right one. there are no right or wrong interpretations for characters its just that fandom has a very bad habit of flanderizing or stripping down their beloved characters and it's just as much a problem in the osc as well
also i need to be honest. there are so many character headcanon things that just list the same 3 bands that people think these characters listen to. and i mean this with no malice or resentment but yall have GOT to expand your music horizons. they cant all be tally hall and lemon demon fans /lh
#also same with the “obsessed with accuracy” thing#i got the kinda autism that makes me fussy over the smallest details#also im a 2016 eddsworld veteran#ive had enough of “uwu soft baby boy” types being leveled at grown ass men for a life time#also again ik the black metal thing was a half joke on cheesys part#but i like it a lot and it's word of god so i might as well lean into it right 😭#im not trying to be prudent or shame anyone for having certain headcanons#but liam is my special little guy and i get neurotic when people misinterpret him#same goes for airy and bryce

bryce Hfj Nd Headcanons u Say... ? Share them Pretty Pleas? wuld Love 2 Hear ur Thoughts Bout that Guy..
i see him having anxiety, clinical depression, c-ptsd and autism
the depression part is kinda obvious as to why if you pay attention to his character but ill elaborate later
the anxiety part is actually technically canon, since he has thalassophobia, which is an anxiety disorder (plus the fact i dont think airy would just randomly add a fun fact to their extra sections - a phobia caused by an actual disorder differs from just an irrational fear so yeah (also caney has epilepsy listed in his extra sections which is a disorder)) i'd like to incorporate that along with the cptsd part since it causes anxiety obviously
as for autism its more of a headcanon for fun rather than with factual basis but ill elaborate on it also
my reasoning for him having c-ptsd is not because of the competition but his childhood, his mom's behavior was so bad that stella had to out of her way to keep bryce away from her
i say complex ptsd specifically because of how he asks if she's having "another one" so we can assume it happened consistently. he also didn't have any way to escape (aside from stella distracting him) considering it was domestic. i dont really think his mom abused him in some way ? but the consequences had to be destructive enough for stella to assume their own home was unsafe for a small child. we don't see much about bryce's relationship with his mom (or his parents in general) but that 100% carried on to his adult self - especially if it happened frequently, and it was super early too because i dont think he was any older than like 7 in that flashback
another factor for this is stella's death ofc, we know how much their relationship mattered to him and how losing her affected him so i dont think i need to overexplain it
as for the way its shown in the show: compared to everyone else, his startled response feels more severe for me, like he always goes on fight or flight mode rather than just freaking out a little. i want to point out one 10 specially
liam shows up at bryces door after 7 months and just stays there for an entire night, during all that time liam just rambles about one and his mere presence is a reminder of one for bryce. one was a traumatizing experience for everyone, but bryce processes it differently, being reminded of that just sents him into shock:
he can't think of how to react until 10 hours later. the way liam reacts at first suggest he thinks bryce is just being rude and purposefully ignoring him, he thinks bryce shouldn't avoid talking to him because he thinks he didn't go through the same amount of pain he [liam] did on the plane and he shouldn't act like he did; but he isn't aware of how anything that remotely reminds him of a bad experience can send him spiraling back to that place, he may not have stayed as long and not have suffered as much (or worse) as liam, but he's been living with this mindset for so long that it's just an automatic reaction. he can panic at anything:
(and i wanna point out how on the first one the shot focuses specifically on him)
and that may seem obvious like, yeah of course he would panic in one 10 of course he was trying to process seeing liam out of nowhere after almost a year but i only went on this tangent and brought that up bc i wanna link it to another thing ....
in one 13 bryce says how "his life was miserable before the competition" and "now that its over he has an incentive to do something with his life". kylie also says that after bryce came back she feels like "he's taking his job more seriously". what i wanna touch on is how the way they put it seems like bryce is trying to like find a purpose in his life, but not exactly find peace ? i don't know exactly how to put it. like he says he was pretty miserable and demotivated he had a stupid chungus life whatever. it feels like he was trying to get his life in order and get more done, rather than facing what was holding him back in the first place and try to make peace with that. he felt unproductive when that's not really the main cause of his misery. which brings me to..
his whole thing with the waiting room. he didn't have any panic reaction, but he was definitely clinging to the past, in this case his childhood and the moments he got to feel safe with stella
now i know the waiting room is designed to make you want to go to whatever's calling you no matter what, but metaphors exist ok . so im gonna consider it a metaphor for his cptsd in bryce's case
he spends the entire episode clinging to the manifestation of stella, but liam stops him from actually going w her because he wants them to solve the whole airy thing first. by the end of it, bryce stops seeing the suburbs as well as stella. when liam and bryce finally get to rest, he says:
he didn't realize that his tendency to ignore his suffering in the past doesn't prepare him for when it pops up again. it send him into terror, he can't help but go back to reliving it, this cycle just kept making him feel worse but he insisted in doing better instead of reconciling with himself
his childhood and one were two different traumatic experiences, but accepting he can't just live what he went through in that competition behind makes him realize he doesn't need to be scared of his past so often. he had to realize he can't just constantly try to repress what happened and move on without reflecting on the way what happened scarred him and continues to affect him; even if he supresses it, it will come back one point and make him go through all that all over again (which is another reason for me to think that people saying bryce dislikes liam is stupid but thats not the point !🙄)
as for his depression season 1 implies it a lot, specially with the flashback sequence in one 7 i can see him having executive dysfunction and it being one of the reasons as to why he tried changing so much after one he also has problems with sleep, and the irritability that comes with experiencing depression in general. also stella's death once again contributes to it
i see him being autistic mainly because he's this trope basically:
(sorry this image is the only way i could put it . you have to understand . ) kylie says how he's not very expressive, and we see how he really isn't. monotonicity is very characteristic of asd, in his case it feels specially like a symptom considering how, in most cases, people don't mean to be as monotone as they are. we know bryce isn't exactly the most chill person in the world he just has a hard time managing and expressing his emotions
bringing up executive dysfunction again, its also a common trait in asd
another thing is his hypersensitivity (which i already talked about a lot), overstimulation can lead to panic attacks you get what i mean. i think he fits as being sensory avoidant
the way he handles most social situations in the show (specially on the plane and with liam on season 2) i can see him being oblivious to social cues
not exactly factual basis just a little analysis, i interpret him being low empathy but high compassion. i think the low empathy would be more related to his irritability

I'm sorry but HOW do you find sodapack to be worse than lairy??
Oh anon, you've opened a Pandora's box.
Let's go through it in parts, shall we?
First, Why people consider lairy to be 'bad'?
From what I've seen, it's often mostly based around the fact that Airy himself had Liam trapped on the Plane, and it can be considered that Airy has an inherent abusive dynamic with Liam because of this. This is the major one, since Airy doesn't show any animosity, negative or positive towards Liam immediately. He didn't pick Liam out of malice,or abuse,or anything. It just was coincidence, and he wanted them to play the game, but didn't punish him for not playing. Even stuff like the drowning is shown to be unintentional or at least, Airy himself doesn't seem to consider it a punishment. When it was time for Liam to be returned home after the 5 month period, Airy did so without major hesitation, it's not like he wanted to keep Liam more than wny of the other contestants.
Second, why is sodapack seen as wholesome?
No, seriously. Liam and Bryce are mostly friendly and amicable within the game, especially while Amelia was still involved, and after they are placed on the same team along with Texty and Stone but without Amelia, Bryce becomes quite less responsive and sort of gives up on trying to communicate with Liam, he is mentally checked out. At this point, it's more of a traumatic bond than it is a deeper friendship. The later development, which i will comment on, is mostly driven through Liam pushing Bryce, and Bryce only ever says hes glad they went through it way past the point of no return. There's implications that this is how Bryce just deals with things,he tries to see them as 'for the best' to compartmentalize them. Same as never mentioning Stella, same as deciding that his life post-plane was better. Bryce is not particularly attached to Liam on his own volition.
Third, fandom blindness
Okay, this part is where I criticize the fandom. So here it goes: At this point, the fanon versions of Liam and Bryce are forcefully fit into what you (general you) want them to be,rather than actually acknowledging them as they are. ONE's characters are all morally grey, however the interactions within themselves are more or less harmful depending on intention or disregard of care at an interpersonal level.
Let's look at 'fanon' liam, for example
fanon!Liam is:
kind
awkward
romantically interested in Bryce
trying to save the others
traumatized
non violent
caring for the fellow objects still in the Plane
Canon!Liam however is...
Obsessive
Manipulative
Doesn't care about Bryce's trauma
Selfish, wants to solve this mystery because he feels his life got ruined
Uses Bryce's guilt to make him go along with things
Traumatized
He's considerably violent
My point here is that the fandom has a particularly skewed vision of both Liam and Bryce and their friendship
Fourth, Intentional Harm
In the case of sodapack, let's see how these awful behaviors are spread or balanced within canon. Liam's bad or harmful actions toward the other in green, Bryce's are in red
Liam seeks the unknown address, and hitchhikes his way over there, fully on impulse.
↓
Once he sees Bryce's terrified reaction, he insists on having him open the door. He starts by explaining why hes here but starts getting mad, accusing Bryce of ignoring or not caring for the other contestants
↓
Liam yells about how bad things were for him in the 7 month period, drawing a comparison of how 'easy' it must have been for Bryce to forget it,guilting him.
↓
Liam walks away....and comes right back, instead deciding to sleep against Bryce's door, effectively trapping Bryce and making it so he can't leave his apartment or home at all.
↓
Bryce lets him in and states his boundaries about listening Liam out and giving him Bradley's address.
↓
Liam IMMEDIATELY manipulates him into driving them to Bradley's house. Bryce pays for the laptop, too.
↓
Bryce states his boundaries AGAIN and Liam insists until Bryce breaks and agrees to seek Oscar. At no point Liam has even TRIED to learn Bryce's name,he gets told his name on the drive there, Bryce is clearly uncomfortable with his game name.
↓
Bryce helps get some information out of Oscar and PAYS HIM for his time, which Liam didn't even consider. Also he does this without reviving Oscar's possibly traumatic memories, which Liam was willing to do and hadn't been considerate of the other's mental health
↓
Bryce,AGAIN states his boundaries, and tells Liam that he is NOT driving him to the smokestack. Liam says he understands.
↓
And immediately steals AND CRASHES the car. has a fight with Bryce, holds the car keys hostage, and calls Bryce 'soda bottle' during the fight. Bryce calls Liam out on doing this out of selfishness, and hits him.
And as an extra:
Liam couldn't have not noticed that Bryce said the waiting room looked like his childhood neighborhood/Bryce trying to reach Stella. He just didn't care enough.
Liam got himself and Bryce killed several times during this ordeal.
Bryce let Liam stay in his home out of guilt, not kindness.
Through all of these interactions, there's not an ounce of balance, it's mostly Liam doing shit to fuck up Bryce's attempt to return to normalcy, and Bryce doing mostly emotiona self-harming
Now, let's look at Lairy, and how Liam and Airy interact in terms of intentional harm
Liam in green, Airy in blue
Airy picks Liam as a contestant for ONE,at random
↓
Liam freaks out and breaks a leg during the challenge
↓
Airy forgets about Liam's cast and accidentally drowns him during another challenge
↓
Airy disappears for the 7 month period, then sends Liam back to san Francisco
So far, none of this is intentional harm. Let's jump forward to their out-of-game interactions
Liam pushes Airy out his chair and yells at him, trying to hit him, upset.
↓
Airy remains polite and a little confused and explains why he can't do that yet
↓
Liam talks to texty, and refuses to consider killing Airy
↓
Liam Negotiates with Airy
↓
Liam falls and loses his belongings, Airy attempted to hold him from falling
↓
After Liam does attempt to kill Airy,a tree breaks his leg, and Airy makes him a wooden cast, and a bed of reeds.
As it's visible, there's almost no intentional harm from Airy to Liam, and even the murder attempts from Liam to Airy are mild at best.
Fifth, Intentional Kindness
I'll keep this shorter, but, Bryce, once he meets Liam again back on Earth, doesn't show kindness to him unprompted at all. It's always guided through Liam's manipulation and behavior. He let's Liam in because Liam had him physically trapped. He goes along because Liam insists and guilts him. He helps get information out of Oscar and keeps it vague for OSCAR'S SAKE NOT LIAM'S,because he doesn't want to do to others what liam is currently doing to him.
He gets on the smokestack to ask for his keys back. Not a single act of kindness is unprompted. Bryce is a better person than Liam, and he falls for Liam's controlling behavior and struggles to say no.
Now, Airy is... tough, just as morally grey, Airy truly believes he's doing his best, and he has no animosity for actually hurting others, not even Liam. Not even when Liam is trying to Kill him. Airy, unprompted, makes Liam a reed bed, attempts to save liam from the fall, makes Liam a cast after his accident, and is generally open about his backstory to Liam. Airy has been alone 10 years, only with the plane and it's contestants for fun, trying to do something relatively harmless, and he is willing to send everyone home in exchange for the cassete player and because Liam asked and negotiated. He's happy to have Liam around. And Liam mourns Airy's death, too. He looks horrified when Airy speaks of how he was trying his best, and how his life was beforehand. There's even a hint of Liam basically becoming the next one to fill Airy's role at the end. He seems to understand this deep loneliness, and hears Airy out. Liam can resonate with someone he called a monster especially when in retrospective, Liam himself is more of a bad person than Airy is. Airy just, lost part of his mind in the process, but he stays kind. He could've killed Liam. with the computer, leave HIM in the waiting room, forever.
So... yeah
in the big picture, Airy is just a guy whos trying his best after then years of loneliness, and tried to do something that's morally abhorrent but without intention of harming anyone as long as it could be undone. He's not harmful or a threat to Liam,or at least, not more than Liam is a threat to him. It's sad,and doomed, and balanced
And Bryce is a poor traumatized man who got forced into doing stuff he never wanted to do,ans to relieve trauma he never wanted to relieve, just to be thrown back into the plane, for no reason, just to be trapped in a looping hell. He fears or at least really dislikes the way Liam manipulates him,and stays in denial about it. And Bryce is not a threat to Liam,in any way, other than Liam making Bryce responsible for his life as long as this own.
I think that's all i got in me,at least right now

ohh these are from an au? could you tell some details... 🥺
YES!!! there isn't a lot of info yet but i can tell you some!!
this is an au i'm making with some friends that's heavily based on a game we all like
for starters, this is a completely different universe, the competition doesn't happen here but dynamics are (somewhat) similar. the au takes place in a tiny fictional town by the sea, which is where the characters meet for the first time. the town is haunted as fuck btw and no one can figure out why
bryce is the only one out of batch 1 that ever left the town, and is moving back home for break after having left several years prior for college. his sister (stella) is missing which is what prompted him to leave in the first place. his thalassophobia plays a role in the story as despite being an aquatic mammal (leopard seal) he is terrified of water and never goes near the ocean.
airy is a mysterious long time resident of the town who mostly keeps to himself? some traumatic event several years ago cost him an eye and made him retire early, so he spends his time making and selling sculptures. he knows more about the town's history than anyone else
amelia is a part-time yoga instructor as well as attends the local college (of which she is a part of the swim team because shes an otter idk). she and airy are kind of friends but she doesn't know nearly as much as he does about the town itself
liam also attends the local college and lives in an apartment off campus. not much to say about him hes just a normal guy who is about to have a Very bad time :)
charlotte and parker are also there, and as of the beginning of the au they aren't on speaking terms. charlotte routinely goes to the local hospital to treat her infection and tends to get into a lot of trouble with the authorities
all of batch one grew up together and were childhood friends before stella's disappearance (minus charlie, who isnt present in the au, and taylor who ends up moving in and its still a teen here. she works at the gas station)
the batch 2 contestants are also residents of the town and are more minor characters. some of the season 1 guys are here as well. julien is a famous filmmaker who moved to the town to get away from the spotlight and live a quiet life but obviously that plan goes tits up because nothing good can ever happen to anyone
so basically everyone is here and they reunite with each other and it's a fun time until it's not. also airy hit and killed stella with his truck in the same accident that made him lose his eye and no one knows that this happened
#hfjone#object shows#hfjone au#onehfj#object show community#text tag#yeah thats basically what we have so far. no concrete story yet#the au is a horror au and i dont want to say the game its based on publicly#because the game has a lot of adult themes but if youre above 18 you can message me and ill tell you#its probably easy to guess anyway if youre a furry and you have two braincells to rub together

THE HFJONE DEHUMANIZED AU
***BIG OL FUCKIN SPOILERS FOR THE FINALE AND SERIES AS A WHOLE***
Behold!!! The masterpost!!!
Overwhelmed by the amount of shit about this au that's scattered across my different social medias? Well I'm gonna compile all that shit here baby.
And now for the first time ever anywhere: the shit about Airy.
Basics:
The batch 1 contestants were all originally human. Everyone on their version of earth is human, not objects
Upon being brought to the plane, batch 1 contestants were transformed into their respective objects and stay that way until they can go back to their earth
The form characters take in the waiting room is reflective of their internal view of themself
General Story and How the Universe Works:
(Aka the Airy stuff)
Airy was a human on earth. He dies in the truck crash and goes to the waiting room.
Airy messed with the radio for a bit, and it turns out that in some universes, your form changes to sort of adapt to it.
Airy finds the forest dimension place. Here, inexplicably, he takes the form of a lamp. It's weird but he's been wandering around for so long and this place is nice so he goes with it. Eventually gets used to it, especially since there's not really any bodily needs to worry about now.
General plot of ONE plays out the same, he makes the plane and summons the first season contestants. Like him, in this universe they become objects and freak out about it. The contestants get killed by accident and Airy starts over.
Fast forward to the events at the start of One. Airy teleports the batch 1 people and they have to deal with being literally dehumanized by him. Which is like super jarring obviously cause they all have these new bodies suddenly so on top of the already weird competition, they have to adjust to not being human anymore
The Incident tm occurs and many contestants are trapped on the plane for a while. This makes Liam and Amelia notably lose their sense of being human and become content with being objects
Liam returns to earth after so long to suddenly being human again and doesn't know how to cope. He finds Bryce and even though they don't initially recognize each other, they figure out who they are and work together to do the rest of the shit.
When they get to the waiting room, since their forms are a reflection of the view of the self, Bryce is more human while Liam’s just. Backpack. Shenanigans and angst ensue
The rest of the plot is more or less implicit. There’s just another layer of shenanigans that oh so conveniently covers a layer of suffering
Some specific character things that are totally still up for interpretation:
As a human, Charlotte suffers from a fungal infection she got from a head injury
Julien spent so long trying to get home in the waiting room, he lost all sense of identity at all and just became a haze
Variants of this au that people seem to enjoy
Permabackpack: Liam (and sometimes other characters) stay in their waiting room forms after they get back to earth
Batch 1 + 2 earth: Batch 2 contestants also come from the Batch 1 Earth, but are living objects from that earth and not humans
I think that’s the gist of it. Sorry if the formatting on here is whack. Will update with other info if needed

HFJONE Death of the Author analysis
Fresh off of a recent rewatch of ONE and i had a bit of a epiphany today about a theme that i don’t think i’ve seen anyone talk about yet. Post of course contains major spoilers for HFJONE season 2 so if you have not seen it yet, begone from this post until you have. NOW for starters i’d like the start this with bringing up what “death of the author” means so everyone is on the same page. Death of the author is a concept in literary criticism in which an author's intentions should hold no special weight in determining and interpretation of their writing. But this theory isn’t about the literal author Cheesy but instead Airy. In the last few episodes of ONE we learn ALOT about Airy when Liam confronts him in person. Its alot to take in for both us as viewers and for Liam, who has built up Airy in his head as some crazy evil villain who’s purposefully torturing the contestants for his personal enjoyment. Liam is constantly on guard and waiting for Airy to take a chance to “get him” and is very offput by that expectation not being met. In fact not only does Airy not want to hurt Liam, but the first thing Airy does, even after Liam is physically violent and screams at him, is go get reeds to make place for Liam to sleep that night. It is very evident that Airy lacks emotional empathy, but not all empathy. It’s certainly no secret that Airy is a heavily damage person mentally, long term isolation does so much damage to the mind and body and Airy also seemingly went through the same kind of song and dance as Bryce and Liam did when trying to get the correct numbers on the radio based on what he tells Liam about it even if it’s not shown. As much as Airy is in the wrong for what he does to the contestants on The Plane, his intentions weren’t malicious in nature, and he himself is deeply traumatized and detached from the reality of his actions because of it. Liam doesn’t want to acknowledge that, it goes against everything driving him forward, but lucky for him he never has to. Airy dying is his own thematic author’s death. We can probably assume that Airy was crossing over the waterfall to get more supplies to care for Liam, which would have challenged Liam’s mental image of Airy further. But instead Liam awakes to find him dead, and stares down at his remains with uncaring conviction, never having to acknowledge Airy’s intentions behind his creation and living on with his own interpretation as Airy are a cruel villain.

one of my favorite details about liam is the fact that he is very nice!!!! but he does NOT seem to get manners
his whole motive thruout season 2 is that he wants to save the others. from the looks of it, he doesnt CARE about the revenge part that much. like yeah itd be nice to stop the guy that physically harmed and killed you bc he did that, but thats an afterthought really - and i didnt interpret liam trying to kill airy even as an attempt at revenge so much as an extremely irrational and extremely stress-induced method of trying to make sure his friend + the others DIDNT get sent to the plane. his main priority is repeatedly that he wants to stop this from happening to anyone else. the only time he mentions himself is when saying that he 'cant live the rest of his life not knowing WHY this happened' (thats paraphrased) but that is immediately followed up w concern for this happening to other people
ofc, he also thinks he literally Has Nothing so the lengths he goes to to save the others CAN be interpretted as not things he would do if he thought he could go back to normal but at that point, thats just extremely specific speculation and i dont think thats supposed to be whats conveyed. some situations wouldnt even be necessarily related to him not having anything, so much as related to helping the others. he still throws himself into everything after "remembering what its like to have a life again." even when he realizes that he doesnt HAVE to have lost everything, he still cared and wanted to help the others more
i think he wanted closure, yeah, but he really did want to save the others. the scene of him helping julien is there for a narrative reason, after all (though i dont wanna get into that bc id go on a tangent about narrative choices in ONE). hell, hes the only one to try to get charlie out of the way of the stakes! (not that the others didnt try, but i feel like the intended take-away of liams general nature is fairly clear)
anyway, liam is nice!! he cares a lot abt others and doesnt want bad things to happen to them, and hes ok with bad things happening to him if it can help them.
but he does NOT understand a lot of social etiquette, or the concept of being polite.
my favorite example of this is the whole discussion abt going to go see bradley. when the restaurant gets shut down, liams first thought is to go 'sooooo. you dont have work, right?' when liam realizes he cant pay for the laptop, he just kinda. 'i dont have any money.' and stares at bryce like a cat looking at your plate of sandwich meat, waiting for you to inevitably give them some
this isnt even ONLY after the 7 months, theres hints of this trait before then! when amelia is talking abt stone making her team when the challenge, he just goes 'yeah sorry.' then talks abt how texty won their teams challenge, pointedly when texty is RIGHT there. liam doesnt even say goodnight back to owen! (this ones less impolite than the others but i think its silly to include)
it should be noted tho, that while this ISNT present before and after the plane, it DOES show up more prominently afterwards, and this could very much be the stress! but looking at WHY its more prominent afterwards also feels like it points more towards this just being How He Is.
all of the things hes kinda impolite abt? are things where he is TRYING to be nice, or arent unkind inherently. hes going to talk to bradley? well, doesnt bryce want to come? driving him there is more efficient anyway. oh you have work? well now you dont! so now things are easier! staying here isnt gonna make the restaurant reopen anyway! (liam also probably does NOT have the same weight associated w jobs that bryce does, since liam hasnt had a job in a capitalist society in 7 months. its probably still subconsciously there, but not at the forefront when the plane is still out there). i crashed your car? well, i think the lives of others matters a little more. you can get a new car, but if something happens to airys contestants WHO KNOWS whatll happen to them
a lot of it, i think, is made more extreme by stress and trauma, yeah, but these are patterns in logic that seem to already discard manners as being that relevant. and i, autistic, chose to view that as something hes just Like. hes not a dick and he doesnt ever mean to be! but also if someone can do something fairly minor to do something more important, why does he NEED to be polite abt it?? whats the POINT you get the same message across! and thats assuming he even REALIZES these things are "impolite," based on a lot of his interactions w vryce, i legitimately dont think he realizes how he acts could sometimes be considered 'impolite'
where bryce is knowingly kind of rude sometimes and doesnt care (though is STILL kind, he is just more blunt and uninterested in sounding nice, which i could do an entirely different essay on the autism of), liam seems to not really notice manners, nor does he think theyre very important to consider, and i just. really love that about his character :)
this is the kind of guy that, if you stubbed ur toe, hed probably not say 'oohh, sorry :(' and hed just be 'dang, that sucks' and move on
#hfjone#liam hfjone#yes im maintagging this bc i like my liam analysis#i LOVE characters who are kind but dont acknowledge manners#i point at a character i like and go im going to give you the highest honor i can bestow and its an autism diagnosis#also the reason i care abt this is because i see a lot of ppl write him as concerned abt how he comes across and being a bit shy abt it?#and like!!!! thats ok#different interpretations of the same character can exist!!!#esp w a character whose actual personality is fairly muddled by the events of the story#but i also overanalyze characters and have noticed this trait of his and i think id like to see it in more interpretations#bc its how i see him and i think its very fun!!! though that could just be me :)#idm the other interpretations of liams personality i just wanted to throw this one out there bc i think abt it a lot#and i dont think it changes much but as an autistic i enjoy interpretting liam this way :)#anyway. liam autism forever 🎉🎉🎒🎉🎉🎉#hfjone spoilers

Confessing my perfect ending for ONE 18. (Part 1 of 2)
Instead of that 4 minute long music video, ONE 18 should have instead had Liam tripping on a rock and dying. Like it would be perfectly foreshadowed all the way from the first two episodes of the series and it would literally make the perfect thematic conclusion for his character arc.
"But that would like make the ending extremely hopeless and like really depressing."
Actually, it wouldn't. Since Texty like only died in the end credits.. They would literally still be alive at the time of Liam's death. I like don't know how laptops work in the ONE universe, but like they can probably just move to Airy's computer and sends all of the contestants back.
Right now you might be asking, "If Texty could do this, why didn't they literally do it earlier.." Well actually, Texty is like secretly evil and they have been this whole time. This was foreshadowed in ONE 11 with that really shady laptop start-up logo. Texty was actually like the previous host of ONE (way before "Season 1" started) But Airy, who was like actually a former contestant of ONE all this time, trapped them into a laptop and threw them into the Waiting Room. He then returned to a normal life for a total of 3 years, before dying in a tragic car crash and also getting sent to The Waiting Room. By the time Airy got there again, Texty was already gone.
Texty had actually gotten sent to Bridgeport, due to an error in Airy's code. They then ended up being used as an laptop for like 10 years until they got put back into ONE. During those 10 years, Texty had already forgotten their past as a ONE host. And Airy also had like convenient memory loss. (Mainly from the car crash, with any remaining memories being distorted while dimension-hopping.)
Anyways, Airy eventually ends up back in the ONE-dimension. He finds some notes written about the previous host. (These notes weren't written by Stone, but it did give Airy the idea for the note contest in Season 2.)
We skip ahead a few years, and Batch 3 ends up containing Texty. Initially, Texty doesn't remember their past life. Only once they get sent back to Earth do they really remember anything.. And they start scheming. They're going to get rid of Airy, not because he was like a evil kidnapper, but because he stole their idea. And maybe if it's possible, they'll get their original body back..
Timeskip to the Present. Texty is getting ready to start Season 3 of ONE and continue what they started all those years ago. Suddenly, there are footsteps outside the cave. The entrance opens, revealing..
Taylor.
You see, all this time... Taylor was actually doing the same thing Liam and Bryce had been doing, but she had started a few days earlier. Someone else is with her too, that someone being..
Circle.
You see, while Taylor was exploring dimensions, she ended up in the white void where Battle For Circle was. She freed him and they are besties now I guess.
Anyways, Taylor looks around and notices the planet.
"I wonder what this is?"
"Huh, this must be The Plane."
Taylor notices the computer screen and realizes something.
"Wait, is that Charise?"
Taylor suddenly becomes enraged. If she finds Airy, it will probably not end well.
Circle walks outside, walking past a extinguished campfire and some logs, and notices something near a waterfall. It's Airy's head.
He just stares at it. He feels conflicted.. If Airy didn't bring him into the contest, he'd probably just end up like all of the other circles.. But if he wasn't sent in the first place, then maybe being stuck in the white void for an eternity wouldn't have been such a awful fate..
Taylor eventually walks outside and goes to where Circle is and then notices Airy's decapitated head.
"Oh."
Taylor is much more relieved than Circle. She could care less that he died. Finding out that he was going to take her friend from her just sealed the deal.
Taylor and Circle just stand there for what feels like an eternity, staring at the waterfall and what remains of Airy.
Some loud noises coming from the cave make both of them turn around.
There is a crash, and the sound of glass breaking. A electric hand phases through the crack in the computer screen. Eventually, an entire body comes out. Texty hasn't managed to return to their original form. They have become something worse...
(To Be Continued Later) -⚪⚫
this felt like the mix of a summary and a fanfiction

Same anon so I'm just going to put a little 🪨 here bc I am in fact Stone hfjone /j
I absolutely adore your ideas and concepts for the au!! Mind if I might ask how the people on the Plane would feel? What about Texty, or how Airy and Liam's relationship would grow during the months? (Mostly because I want to know how Airy would feel about finally having someone else to talk to after years)
OK I HAVENT CONSIDERED SUPER DEEP BUT here are some thoughts!!
i think bryce would feel absolutely crushed and betrayed (having been closer to liam than the others), amelia would be detached and indifferent- she can barely remember her past at this point. as for texty i think it'd be interesting to see them warped back onto the plane with the others, being able to explain everything that's happened, only for everyone's motivation to just dissolve
when i say other contestants i mean. i want EVERYONE back. maximum chaos. liam would force airy to apologize for batch one, of course they're probably just as broken as julien (who is having a breakdown from all of this, actually most of them are).
as for airy and liam i think airy would be excited (in his own way) at having a 'friend' whereas liam goes from resenting him to being distant and apathetic too (not AS apathetic, but yknow lol).
tl;dr this whole au is basically just angst and pain fodder HDKSHLDJGLSF
#i have so many thoughts about the contestant's relationships here#julien learning broken english not because he wants to but because he has no other choice#liam eventually being so distant he doesn't care anymore if owen is on the plane or not#having their loved ones suddenly there would be interesting actually! charlotte and parker........#feel free to add onto this its so fun and hurt/comforty#si#hfjone#cohost au#stocking and taylor (screaming and crying)#i cant stop considering this au and rotating them in my mind

1 Thing I Love & 1 Thing I Hate About EVERY Danganronpa Character Part 1
Part 2
SPOILERS FOR ALL THREE MAIN GAMES
I’d love to hear our opinions as well in the comments or my inbox or DM’s! If you try this trend with DR characters, tag me!
Sayaka Maizono
♡ Her passion for her career and friends.
✘ The way she tries to screw over Makoto when the game had just begun. Like wait and see what happens before screwing over such a great guy? Leon didn’t deserve it either.
Leon Kuwata
♡ His voice actor (English), and how real and human his execution was in that we all would be so scared and irrational. It was just so iconic and sad as it’s our first introduction to the death in this series and we all think: “shit, this is real... they are really killing these kids.” I didn’t think it would be that brutal, just seeing his body limp at the end with the haunting music.
✘ His design is disgusting. I hate how he looks.
Chihiro Fujisaki
♡ So innocent, so kind, so intelligent
✘ Shouldn’t have been killed for such a stupid reason, also they did Mondo dirty with that motive for killing as well. Just a mess. As for the actual character, Chihiro cries right off the bat when you do your introductions and that was kind of annoying to me personally.
Mondo Oowada
♡ He has a lot of respect, understanding and emotions for someone I thought would be a hard-ass douche biker.
✘ The worst motive to kill ever in a game where you know you’re getting executed if you’re found out. Like you’d be extra careful and that’s his reason to kill? Lazy writing.
Celestia Ludenberg
♡ Bad bitch energy and her goth lolita design.
✘ Manipulation and double murder. Bad bitch energy only goes so far. Confidence is different then selfishness. Also, of all the chapter 3 triple murders... the worst motive to kill.
Kiyotaka Ishimaru
♡ Emotions: secure in his masculinity, able to cry, show emotions, and apologize when he’s wrong. He’s funny and likable.
✘ The Ishimondo white hair thing was stupid. Taka was fine on his own.
Hifumi Yamada
♡ Writing takes talent, fan fiction as much as any other style or genre. Also the talent of his voice actor (who also voices Kiibo/K1-B0).
✘ Literally everything else about him.
Sakura Oogami
♡ I love everything about her. I love her wisdom, loyalty, design, voice etc. Just step on me, mother.
✘ Why the hell would she ever agree to be a spy even if it meant the end of her dojo? I just don’t think she would do that rationally because she isn’t selfish. The others would suffer for her spying. She remedies this with redemption in her letter in chapter 4 but still she should’ve said no off the bat. Everyone had something to lose. The dojo wasn’t worth spying for monokuma. Also I just don’t think she would commit suicide. She can’t help the remaining students survive and redeem herself truly if she’s dead.
Kyoko Kirigiri
♡ Bad bitch energy, calm and collected when I could never be.
✘ Especially in future arc of the anime, damn can you show some emotion please? Through your words and expressions not just your actions. Sure she was willing to “die” for Makoto but like I just want more emotion from her sometimes, even in THH.
Makoto Naegi
♡ So pure. I Love Bryce Papenbrook. Makoto reminds me of Sora and I love his design.
✘ In THH I didn’t mind his innocence but in the Danganronpa 3 future arc anime, when people started straight up abusing him and accusing him, he needed to grow a little backbone.
Byakuya Togami
♡ Love my dad, king shit, also love how over the progression of the games and animes he becomes a little more kind to his friends.
✘ Why the fuck did he mess with Chihiro’s body? Just so cruel and disrespectful.
Yasuhiro Hagakure
♡ Funny magic man. Sexy voice.
✘ Please. Please Hiro use your brain just once. Why do we have to prove Kyoko isn’t a ghost?!
Toko Fukawa
♡ Character development in UDG and I love Genocider.
✘ Putting down herself and others constantly gets old in THH.
Aoi Asahina
♡ Love her voice actress and her personality
✘ We really just gonna get everyone killed in chapter 4 huh? Surely you know they don’t all deserve that.
Junko Enoshima
♡ A very memorable villain with great hair and design.
✘ I just can’t stand her. I hate her so much.
Mukuro Ikusaba
♡ Her mercenary background is super cool as a concept.
✘ Too bad it wasn’t explored nearly enough.
Hajime Hinata
♡ Seeing the protagonist be a little less naive, innocent and positive than Makoto was a refreshing change, although I loved Makoto. I liked Hajime’s cynicism and expressions that sometimes just screamed “this shit again, huh?”
✘ I enjoy the way Izuru looks but I hate him as a character. He is sexy to look at but Hajime is just a better character overall
Teruteru Hanamura
♡ His love for his family and mother especially is so cute and heart breaking if you know the full story.
✘ He needs to know when to dial it back and quit with the perversions. And no it’s not just how he looks, Miu needs to chill at times, too.
Twogami
♡ I feel like he genuinely cares about his friends, just hides it well
✘ His death felt like a cop out and poorly written. It just didn’t sit right with me. Also his design is disgusting to me, his outfit and such.
Mahiru Koizumi
♡ Loyal to her close friends.
✘ I just have no interest in her as a character and I find her boring.
Peko Pekoyama
♡ Loyalty. Loyalty is something I value very highly in every form of relationship. Peko is also very hot.
✘ Come on girl... I know how you were raised but you should’ve known Fuyuhiko didn’t think of you as just a tool and you two should’ve expressed your true feelings long ago. Like even in secret. How do you live like this? Also I feel like killing Mahiru could’ve been avoided with a calm talk.
Ibuki Mioda
♡ Cute design, positive vibes.
✘ Cringe sometimes in the way she talks.
Hiyoko Saionji
♡ Beautiful character design and some very good insults and snarky remarks at times.
✘ Just irredeemably mean and annoying. Even when you do her free time events she is just so annoying.
Mikan Tsumiki
♡ I like her design as well as her hair, expressions, sprites and clothing.
✘ I hate her. I just hate her whether she’s in her true psycho form or timid stuttering form. She’s just annoying in my opinion.
Nekomaru Nidai
♡ So supportive, can hold my drink at a party. Respects everyone and wants the best for them.
✘ Bro Mechamaru was a stupid plot point. I just couldn’t stand looking at him and couldn’t take it seriously. Still sad when he died though.
Chiaki Nanami
♡ From chapter 5 of sdr2 on she is impossible not to love if you didn’t already. Just the selflessness, the sadness of the reveal and execution, how she returns to help Hajime at the end???? I love her. I love her hair design, color palette, her personality, everything.
✘ I’m bitter and miserable about her being the only class member to actually die (the despair arc anime) also her falling asleep at random times is kind of odd and she doesn’t seem to be like that later on in the game??? Like it seemed like a cheap joke but not actually who she is? Hard for me to explain.
Gundham Tanaka
♡ King shit, couldn’t praise him enough. He’s sexy, loves animals, and is funny as hell sometimes. His voice actor is a saint and a cool dude and I named my guinea pigs after the Dark Devas (yes I know they are hamsters in the games.)
✘ Come on dude. I get that being from Hell and magic and having evil powers is your shtick, but we all know that you and Nekomaru sacrificed yourselves so the others wouldn’t starve. We know you care about your classmates. There comes a time when it’s time to let personas and facades fade and be true to your heart. I just feel like him denying he cared at the end hurt. We all know he cared. I didn’t like how he was haughty until the end. He deserved better. I love him.
Nagito Komaeda
♡ I love him so much. So cunning and intelligent, always a step ahead. And he’s big sexy.
✘ Him killing himself in chapter 5 hurt me so bad I was like in denial for days. Also hate how Bryce Papenbrook gives him a raspy stoner psycho voice in the game then a light airy higher-pitched voice in the despair arc anime. It just bothers me. I love his voice still but the inconsistency just hurts my OCD
Sonia Nevermind
♡ I love that she’s so interested in her passions and love her feelings for Gundham
✘ Her outfit and bow are atrocious. Also why didn’t she start liking and talking to Gundham sooner on? Their romance bloomed late and it would’ve made for a better chapter 4 ending if they were a bit closer.
Kazuichi Souda
♡ Cool design and outfit, love his voice (also voices Kaito in V3) and his backstory is relatable at times. He’s also very human in that he’s scared a lot of the time or insecure or blames others in panicked situations. It’s not always a good thing but it’s human and realistic.
✘ Gosh he can be so annoying. Sometimes flirting or whining too much is well... too much.
Akane Owari
♡ Strong-willed and definitely someone I would be friends with
✘ What the hell is her outfit? Gymnasts and athletes don’t wear that shit. Stop objectifying her when it doesn’t even make the product or plot better. Like there’s absolutely no point to making her dress that way. I was a gymnast for 15 years. Even those who do parkour (which Akane seems to do more often than actual gymnastics in the anime and game) don’t wear what she wears. Also she’s underrated.
Fuyuhiko Kuzuryuu
♡ I love him. He’s the DR character I’m most like out of all the games and anime. Tenko is a close second. I think he’s adorable, love his character arc, development, redemption, and love his voice.
✘ In the anime/despair arc, Fuyuhiko is not done justice. He doesn’t get enough lines, has a different voice actor, just doesn’t give off the same vibes.
Izuru Kamakura
♡ Sexy man long hair good.
✘ Boring character. I wish he were just Hajime.
Kaede Akamatsu
♡ Loyalty and leadership are such attractive qualities in her. Also she faced her death with such class and dignity and I respect her because I could never.
✘ Some of the voice lines Erika does for her are just weird and cringe. Just random moans or grunts... I don’t know it’s like when Ann Takamaki from Persona 5 (also voiced by Erika) makes suggestive noises as well. Just grinds my gears. Also hate her outfit down to the hair pins.
Shuichi Saihara
♡ I love his nasally voice. I love his design and he’s so adorable. I love how emotional and compassionate he can be. He ties with Makoto for favorite protag of mine.
✘ That sprite where he sniffs his hand. And his ugly ass hat.
Rantarou Amami
♡ Sexy man, sexy voice, sexy piercings
✘ Ugly outfit, and wasted potential
Ryoma Hoshi
♡ I respect him and feel bad for his outlook on life and for how poorly he views himself. I love his little hat as well and he’s the first “different styled” character (Hifumi, Bandai, Teruteru) that I liked the design of.
✘ I hate when he says “got a long ways to go,” it’s overused and annoying, and wish he gave himself more credit. Also hate that when you first meet him he warns you that he’s killed people and is dangerous to be around. Come on buddy, you know you wouldn’t hurt your friends. Stop pushing them away.
Kirumi Tojo
♡ Competence, well rounded, skillful
✘ Boring as hell. I wouldn’t waste one free time event on her.
Angie Yonaga
♡ Dark skin, super cute, love her talent as an artist myself.
✘ Gives religious people a bad name and is super manipulative which I hate.
Tenko Chabashira
♡ I relate to her and feel bad when she’s misunderstood. She’s a good person deep down. Also love her sprites.
✘ There’s more cunning, funny and clever ways to write her digs at men.
Korekiyo Shunguuji
♡ I’m in love with this man. Long hair, voice, mystery, mask, intelligence, passion, talent.
✘ He definitely was a victim of abuse and a lot of people refuse to see that and just hate him. Team Danganronpa should’ve given him a redemption arc where he realized his sister abused him and changed.
Gonta Gokuhara
♡ I love his design except for his suit. Also he’s so cute and naive. I cried for his trail.
✘ No need talk like caveman. Better way to do this.
Kokichi Ouma
♡ Like Nagito, I value his intelligence and crazy cunning.
✘ Shouldn't have died. Also shouldn’t have manipulated Gonta. That was just cruel.
Miu Iruma
♡ She has her hilarious moments and her death surprised me and was sad.
✘ Sometimes she lacks basic empathy, i.e. calling Tenko “Tencrotch” when she just fucking died.
Maki Harukawa
♡ Amazing character development. Didn’t see her surviving until the end at the start. Also her love and passion for Kaito.
✘ “Do you wanna die?” gets old.
Kaito Momota
♡ Just the overall best bro you could ever have.
✘ Has some toxic masculinity issues and anger issues.
K1-B0
♡ Pretty much everything about him. His design, his attitude and personality, especially how amazing and cool he is chapter 5 onward, his execution made me so sad. He’s so innocent and funny without trying.
✘ When you do his free time events he’s very arrogant and just talks about himself a lot... it seems odd and not similar to the Kiibo we see throughout the game.
Himiko Yumeno
♡ Super cute design, love her voice and “Nyeh...” and her sprites. Her character development is great as well.
✘ Why did they take so long to make her important and likable?
Tsumugi Shirogane
♡ An excellent and well hidden reveal
✘ I hate her. So annoying, from the voice to the references and her personality.
