When you start a game like elden ring, with a reputation like elden ring's, you think that the required Gamer's Temperament is something like this:
determination to overcome obstacles
appreciation for esoteric and obscured story beats
undeterred by "unfair" gameplay
willing to learn from each death
And what they dont tell you is a crucial part of the cocktail that makes you enjoy elden ring is
appreciation for slapstick comedy

@errorcritical NO BUT THIS IS WHY MOD AU SAM IS A TWITCH STREAMER FHSKWLLWKE
I like to think him and Damien have a rivalry and sometimes Sam dresses up like an e-thot to make fun of him (but he also looks weirdly good in it ???)
Neeja and Imee are his chat mods. Lucio gets him cancelled every time he shows up as a guest on the stream/plays with him live.
I think the funniest Bottom Lore™️ is that I do in fact have an ex named Sam who was a piece of shit but in a very different way than My Sam LMFAO

Origin Characters as Streamers
Shadowheart
Stardew Valley ✨QUEEN✨ (1000% romances either Haley, Abigail, or Sam)
Plays Minecraft on creative mode, she’s just here to make a cute house, have every animal, and frolic in a cherry blossom forest
Also enjoys cozy games like Spirit Farer, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Cozy Grove, etc.
Her and Karlach sometimes play co-op horror games like Panicore, Phasmophobia, Escape the Backrooms because everything makes her scream and Karlach laughs at her (affectionately)
Gale
Absolutely DESTROYS old men in online chess
Plays Minecraft on hard mode and also BODIES Mario Maker (he has created the most sinister, infuriating, maddening levels)
Was definitely a Sonic kid, he knows the games are terrible but they’re so nostalgic and he loves making fun of them
Always tries to have a nice time playing Mario Party with Wyll, Karlach, & Astarion and they always end up screaming at each other
On the other hand he also does relaxing Pokémon card opening streams and cooking streams with Tara (he’s totally unaware of the tiktok thirst edits of him in his apron)
Karlach
Queen of first person shooters like Fortnite and Apex Legends, her and Wyll are unbeatable in DOOM (2016)
She more so likes cute cozy games that she can sip hot cocoa and snuggle up with a teddy bear while playing
Plays old shitty ps2 games based on media that chat requests like Bratz: Forever Diamondz, Barbie Horse Adventures, and Monsters, Inc.
Loves racing games (she’s terrible at them)
Loves fucking around in GTA 5 (she’s so good at it)
Every now and then does ghost hunting streams with whoever’s available (Shadowheart’s clinging to her the whole time, Gale is giving a thorough breakdown of the history of the location, Astarion is covering up his fear by saying everything’s the wind while also clinging to her, Lae’zel is actually looking for a living person in the building to fight, Wyll is cracking jokes and isn’t scared at all until he sees a door move and him and Astarion are in the car in 0.02 seconds)
Astarion
Loves visual novel romance games like Dream Daddy, Monster Prom, Raptor Boyfriend, etc.
Like Karlach he loves cozy games that let him get in his white girl autumn mode (lights off, candles lit, snuggled under a blanket, pumpkin spice latte and apple cider donuts nearby)
Definitely DOESNT CRY when he plays emotionally charged games especially where a beloved character dies, especially if it’s an animal, no he’s not pausing the stream to cry he just has to go pee-!
His most popular stream was playing A Way Out with Gale (he’d go from threatening Gale’s life for not being in sync to making jokes about the characters being them and also gay)
Does cosplay making streams, sews all of his costumes himself
Lae’zel
Queen of survival games like Subnautica, Rust, DayZ, Raft
Loves hand to hand and melee combat games like Bloodborne, Dark Souls, Elden Ring, Dragon’s Dogma; specifically medieval setting games cuz she gets fully immersed and dives deep into character as a knight
She’s bad at racing games; Mario Kart with Wyll, Astarion, & Karlach usually ends with her threatening to dox Astarion
⚔️BLACKSMITHING STREAMS⚔️ most of her viewers for these streams are old men who deeply fear and respect her
Wyll
KING of first person shooters and racing games; Fortnite, Overwatch, PUBG, and Call of Duty ✨champion✨
Slays at Nascar Rumble for the ps2 he’s always got the chicken truck
Is a speed runner for sure and loves doing funky challenges like beating Zelda: BOTW without clothes or breaking the game to take Sidon to Gerudo Town (think PointCrow type challenge videos)
Also likes games with emotional plots like SOMA, Alan Wake, The First Tree, What Remains of Edith Finch, etc. and he will cry on camera
Loves playing two player games with Astarion like Shovel Knight, Snipperclips, Portal 2, and Overcooked
Does late night bedtime story streams, makes his room look super cozy and uses a special ASMR microphone to read stories; takes requests from chat and doesn’t make anyone feel bad for what they want to hear unless it’s smut
All of them at least once a week either get together for a D&D stream or do a multiplayer stream and play:
Lethal Company
Among Us
Content Warning
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Dead by Daylight
Red Dead Online
Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout

Pamphlet TTRPG Exchange
One Wednesday night myself and a group of friends got together to share small ttrpgs. There were snacks, tangents about media these games reminded us of, and much discussion of which games we want to play first.
I had a great time! Discussion of the games we shared is beneath the cut- turns out Lasers & Feelings hacks are very popular with this group.
Carry On by Chaosmeister Games
We opened the exchange with Carry On, the first and only 24XX game of the night. It was a great way to open the evening: a simple system for hunting monsters and taking names!
Halos & Hellfire by Jason Tocci
This one was a big hit with the gang. Everyone wants to play agents of heaven or hell.
Nice Marines by Grant Howitt
Everyone wants to try out this one! Super soldiers engineered for war trying to broker peace? It's so fun. It's possible to 'succeed' so well you cause massive collateral.
Dude Where in the Galaxy Did We Leave the Macguffin? by Fossilwood
I try to stay up to date with ttrpg happenings on Itch, so this unfamiliar game was a pleasant surprise! A sci-fi version of the hangover, this would make an excellent one shot.
Chaos Theory by AurekFonts
This one is Jurassic Park. There are dinosaurs. Don't get eaten!
Ronin by James Simon
An innovative hack of Lasers & Feelings, with six stats across three tracks. Play as wandering ronin in some classic genre scenarios. I just watched Seven Samurai restored and I have FEELINGS, would love to try this game some time.
Magical Pets by Plotbunny Games
The game with the most beautiful layout- I made sure to take home one of the physical copies provided! Play the magical pets of some admittedly fairly useless wizards, as you solve mysteries at a magic school and save your masters from themselves.
Bloodstone by Matteo Sciutteri
A lightweight Forged in the Dark game inspired by soulslikes (particularly Bloodbourne, although comparisons were made to Elden Ring by one of my pals.) The GM hasn't revealed what game we'll be playing on Halloween, but I think it'll be this and I'm excited for it.
Blood & Wine by Yuigaron
Great for those who are intrigued by Vampire the Masquerade but look for a less complex game. Take bloody revenge for the deaths of your kin. Before the night is done, your enemies will lie dead.
Blades & Darkness by Sam Robson
This is one of my games, although my friend had not realised. When she found out she tried to get me to present the game instead, but I insisted she do it. Always more interesting to hear how others experience/interpret your work!
Anyway: Blades and Darkness is a BitD themed Lasers and Feelings hack, where Blades is physical action and Darkness is magical action.
Honorable Mention: 18XX Muramasa by Diego Barreto
I noticed an element in Ronin that had previously been lifted for a game of Muramasa, and so I shared this game in our group chat. The guy next to me was checking it out on his tablet only moments later.

So I wasn't able to watch the last liveshow for ep 56 but I'm catching up now, and nothing in this whole episode so far has made me lose my fucking mind like Aabria suggesting that they stack the goats on the raft because "that worked in another one of these" and watching Matt lose his shit remembering his wife, Sam, and Brennan playing Elden Ring Horse Stacking Simulator
like his reaction is almost exactly the fucking same I'm not making this shit up

1, 6, 9 and 28 owo
Thank you for the ask I had a ton of fun filling this out!
1. Who was your first ever OC? Do you still “use” them? How have they evolved over time?
OH BOY so this is gonna be a long one my first ever OC is my Skyrim Dragonborn/Listener OC I made in 2013, Kameo Septim and I still use her often she's everything to me but I don't post about her much but I do want to start posting about her more. She's gone through so many changes over the years I had to go digging through my Steam account and found one of my first screenshots of her while I was still trying to figure out steam and nexus mods circa 2013 back when I got my first laptop:
Tumblr media
This is her now in her Listener gear and Dragonborn DLC gear 💕
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I've been playing her on Xbox One for a handful of years now and she's had such a glow up I'm in love with how she looks on her Xbox save. She also has a Fallout iteration since 2014ish when I got Fallout: New Vegas and then again revamped her in 2016 when Fallout 4 came out. I've remade her Fallout lore so now she's a separate character from Skyrim Kameo and is her own character now being a synth created in the Dragonborn's image but I thought I'd mention her alongside main Kameo with a screenshot of her and an outfit design drawing I recently finished for her since it's part of her overall evolution as a character.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
6. Do you have any OCs without stories? Will you ever create one for them?
I don't have many OCs without stories surprisingly! When I find a character I haven't delved in on, especially ones from childhood or years past, I usually immediately scoop them up and start brainstorming and make them more developed and at least some art to go with them. An OC that comes to mind that doesn't really have a story is Destry, my Outer Worlds character:
Tumblr media
but I can see myself going back someday and making her more finished!
9. Favorite OC?
Oh GOD I love all of them so I don't have like an all time favorite I have more of a top 5 list which would be: 1. Kameo (Skyrim) 2. Sam (FC5) 3. Nash (Red Dead: Online) 4. Hoth (Cyberpunk: 2077) and 5. I think would be Archon (Elden Ring)
28. Favorite songs at the moment?
Some of my favorite songs at the moment have been: Sidelines - Phoebe Bridgers, Griftwood - Ghost, Queendom - AURORA, and literally anything STARSET all their songs are chef's kiss

Sometimes I hit a complete brick wall and confess to consulting the wiki to see if I've wandered into an area completely innapropriate for my level or if it's a skill issue, and in my defense, the wiki often takes me gently by the hand and says "you idiot. You moron. Secret third thing."
There are so many damage types and status effects in this game.
When the critically acclaimed hard video game Game That Is Hard is both good and hard.....

I I've recently got a video James console and Elden ring has taken over much of my life. It's pretty fun, although I find I'm never sure if I should be in the next dungeon or if I need to level up more or what. I used to love open world games, but I think my approach to them needs an update. maybe if I played a quest a day or something. I don't know.
I have a class on Irish tales that has been pretty interesting. I got really into the exile of the sons of Uisliu (Or the story of Derdriu and Noisiu) and thought that it really reminded me of another book that I had read in another class: Children of Hurin, by Tolkien. Derdriu and Nienor are the same character, except that Nienor was given an added tragedy of being Turin's Sister. Derdriu flings her herself off a cart and dashes her head on some rocks after Noisiu's death - Nienor jumped into the river after the big Turin reveal. Hearing this, Turin dies on his sword.
That same class had me read the fellowship of the ring, and the trees of Lothlorien being gold is another Irish influenced thing - Gold and silver were considered the 'otherworldly' metals, and were motifs of the Aes Sidhe, elves, or faeries (This from my Irish class.)
It's amazing what influence that Irish Myths and Legends have had over modern fantasy as a whole. Tolkien's elves were very much made with the idea that 'elves are fundamentally different than people, though they seem similar'. that ethereal, otherworldly nature that Sam comments on after meeting Glorfindel. Tolkien using these motifs of gold and silver trees, and magic as a whole, can be seen directly funneled into its next form in wheel of time (what I've read of it) in the Aes Sedai.
I'm looking for Irish inspiration in Elden Ring as I play it. Unalloyed gold, maybe? I'm not sure.

The last TV show I watched was Supernatural (c/o the @secondbeatsongs hangouts) and the last game I played was Elden Ring. I think the Winchester boys could be successful Tarnished. There'd be a whole season about Sam catching Scarlet Rot and trying to hide it from Dean and Castiel
