The second season premiere of Batwoman aired on January 17, 2021. The 1st season finale was the last episode of the series for Ruby Rose to play Kate Kane/Batwoman. Instead of casting a new actress to play the role, Javicia Leslie played the new role Ryan Wilder, who took over the mantle of Batwoman. The Batmobile made its first appearance in the series. It was meant to appear in the last season, but the season was cut short due to Covid 19. Dougray Scott, who appeared in the episode, was originally cast as Wolverine in X-Men (2000), but had to be replaced at the last moment by Hugh Jackman due to complications from Mission Impossible II. The Ape Man (1943)
"Six months ago, we made an astounding discovery. It was so far in advance of anything that's been done to date, but... Jim decided to be the guinea pig for this experiment himself. I tried to talk him out of it, but you know how stubborn he is when he gets an idea in his head. We made the experiment and... unfortunately it was a great success. So great, in fact, that we've been unable to counteract the results."

Guys what is happeniiiiiiiiing??? At the beginning for a moment i belived what was happening was real... ghghgh then everything happened.
Our baby Alice is really losing it. She is getting worse with her mental health problems... But that thing is not the answer for sure. Like... Mary is feeling like this cause she came back and she remembers what happened. What would happen if she was able to bring back Beth in a moment and she remembered all the awful things she did when she was Alice? She would go crazy again probably....
AND THAT ENDING? WHADDAFUCK ALICEEEEEEEEEEEEE?!?!?!?!?!
Anyways... Wildmoore??? THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

this weeks batwoman thoughts
i will say this every goddamn week - i stan alice and i will forever stan alice. my traumatized bean deserves the world and i will burn down gotham city to give it to her.
also, again, her loyalty to mouse is something that i love wholeheartedly - including the fact that they are continuing to refer to him as her brother, they aren’t pushing some weird romantic relationship, it’s a pseudo-family thing going on.
the family bonding was nice - especially the sisterly stuff. even if it was short lived. for a moment we got to see some chaotic sisterly love and it was glorious.
luke, my poor boy, he needs a b r e a k
mary is once again the most precious and i will fite anyone who says otherwise
this sofiyah bitch is a big fish and kate isn’t seeing the big picture
a LOT more below
J U L I A pennyworth (my gay ass was not ready)
julia pennyworth on top of sophie moore made my gay ass quake - i was not expecting her back this season at all and so my heart about died.
i was hoping julia would be like, sara lance in crises of earth-x for sophie. like how sara was for alex, the whole ‘we bang, you freak, i’m a wise-bi (dunno if julia is bi or lesbian but sara is bi and i love saying it soooo) and you need to take my advice, then alex chills’
i was hoping her and julia would like be a thing for a second, maybe not sleep together (though i’m not opposed to that either) but have that conversation and sophie would have someone to lean on.
that being said sophie has no claim to kate kane, she has told kate to move on. batwoman broke it off with her (mutually). kate is a free agent and so the kiss with julia - while kind of out of place (imo) - is not wrong.
but i’m interested to see jealous sophie, now that she is husband free and slowly stepping out of that closet.
okay the big one - kate leaving alice in arkham.
my feelings are hurt, let’s just establish that out of the gate
i understand kate though. she thinks she is compromised emotionally and she is to a point right. it is also alice’s fault that she is compromised and she admitted it to her face that she set all this up.
kate is struggling with the fact that she killed someone, that she has that in her - the ability to kill someone and not care about it. even though it was a piece of garbage that she killed, which in my opinion, let’s be honest - if you kill someone who is less than human it doesn’t count, batman has always had that backwards.
however - alice admitted to kate that her biggest fear under fear toxin was being left by her and their dad. she was being open, honest, and vulnerable with kate in that moment but kate knowing this decided to leave her anyway.
there are two very different sides to this and they are both valid.
one part of this however that we cannot turn a blind eye to is how everyone in gotham for some reason willingly overlooks the abuse arkham asylum puts their patients through and it’s treated like it’s fine.
alice told kate what they did to mouse - what the current head doctor did to mouse and was most likely going to again do to mouse and she acted like it was fine.
she also willingly left her sister in there despite the fact that the doctors are known to treat patients unkindly.
this has always been something about the batman/gotham universe i never understood. arkham asylum has been depicted many times in batman history as a living hell.
in comic universe orderlies have been seen stealing patient medicine, they use electroconvulsive therapy, as well as insulin shock therapy.
why it stays open/why batman/bruce wayne didn’t open an alternative mental hospital with up-to-date and better treatment options is something i can’t understand
please note i am not up-to-date on the comics and delved into a wiki for some of this information - so if batman has opened a new mental institute neato, but this post is about batwoman and it’s depiction of gotham.
so with all of this i once again get both sides of this story but kate has made a sketchy choice here in the end.
there are worse things in life than death/murder and alice has already experienced them - people place killing someone on a high tier of crimes but you can do a lot to a person while they are still living.
