Those pics/gifs of Jensen’s responses to the two main SPN ships are so funny to me. Like, from his actual words, to his tone, to how physically uncomfortable he gets from questions regarding each (granted there are way less Wincest questions directed at him because those fans know how to keep their fantasies in fandom, unlike hellers) it is so clear that he’s less bothered by people shipping he and Jared who play brothers than him and Misha.

People who scream, cry and throw up about the evils of Wincest should remember this. Jensen hates their ship so much, that he likes it less than Wincest. He and Jared literally sent each other pics of Wincest manips because they find it funny. Jensen sees a fan with a “Destiel is real” shirt and he yells, “Is it? WHERE is it real?!”

AMD honestly, I don’t think Jensen would like it if Wincesties constantly made Sam and Dean moments about them being sexual to his face, either. He’d probably get annoyed with them then, too.

But that’s exactly the poin. So many hellers don’t actually care how Jensen feels or what he thinks at all. They just want to force him to acknowledge a frigging ship, so they can say they won. When he says things they don’t like, they suggest Dean should be forced to “be gay” with Castiel as punishment.

I’m not going to spend too much of my time driving in sympathy because Jensen is a grown ass adult with more money and options than I will ever see, but it must be rough to have fans who disrespect you constantly and objectify you so much that they want you to swash you up against another man like a Ken doll and force him to makeout for their amusement and to like, prove that he isn’t homophobia just because he hates their ship.

annoyed by the plates in the sink? 90% of the time, it's sam. sam's worked enough short-lived bar-back and wait staff gigs that he relishes in a clean workspace, whether that's the hotplate and microwave on top of the motel mini fridge, or the long counters and deep stainless steel sinks of the bunker. he's a kid who heard the "clean up, clean up, everybody everywhere, everybody do your share!" song one too many times in lower elementary and is fully indoctrinated into tidying culture. the other 10% is dean. dean, who's rawdoggin' it through life with untreated (read: unacknowledged) adhd, who can look past/through/over the dirty dishes amd general messiness for weeeeeks until he hits his Fuck Point™, at which he snaps and goes on a manic cleaning binge. we're talking elbow-high yellow gloves and an abrasive scrubby. we're talking grout cleaner for the tile. we're talking freshly scrubbed baseboards.

who snores the loudest? depends. dean's had his nose broken more times, so if he gets flipped over onto his back then all bets are off. mostly he's a tummy sleeper, though, so it's usually not an issue. sam's snore isn't as loud, but it's constant and unignorable, like a rattling AC window unit. (between that, and his inability to go a year without at least two sinus infections, and the way he sneezes going from a dark place to a bright one, dean has WebMDiagnosed sam with a deviated septum.)

had a dream about spn where there was a secret 16th season(it wasnt a new syndication it was just a secret) and sam revealed that ever since the first time he drank demon blood he'd had a one-sided mental connection to dean and never told him because he knew dean would flip out and hurt him and hate him and he was desperate for dean to stay. and there was the implication that dean was angry but moreso that it was kept from him and he wasnt AS angry as sam predicted and that with effort he could open up the mental connection and be linked on his side too and that that was going to happen in a later episode. but the big problem right now was that he died and became a ghost, but sam was able to see and touch and talk to him because of the connection. amd they had to outrun a reaper while working out their personal issues. and then i woke up which sucks because it was a pretty coherent dream and i wanted to see where it was going

I COUNTED THE WOMEN IN SPN S1, HERE ARE MY RESULTS (might be only about 50% accurate but this was just for fun)

120 characters are not women, 80 characters are women, that's 40% women.

3 women were really mentioned/appeared in more than one episode, which is 3.75% of women, 100% of which are dead

18 women in total are dead, which is 22.5% of women

Each one of the brothers got kissed by/were in a romantic relationship with 3 women, so 3.75% kissed dean and 3.75% Sam, which is a total of 7.5% of the women

A bit ill and emotionally distraught rn (over-studied amd wrecked myself, academia etc) so. here's some new spn finale thoughts

I've been convinced more or less Since Day One that Blurrywife is the final monster of spn, that she was the pointedly-never-otherwise-revealed head of the "vamp-mimes" nest, and that wherever Sam and Dean are, not only is it not "Jack's Heaven", it's not ANY heaven. While I do believe in the Chuck Won Theory (for reasons that are a whole other post unto themselves) re: Sam and Dean's endings in particular, the Faceless Woman Hovering Unsettlingly In The Corner always interested me more than possible divine intervention.

I have a pretty solid idea of what she is (ie, narratively, thematically and attack-style-wise, what kind of creature makes the most sense/is most interesting) and a few ideas, not really mutually exclusive either, about how she got ahold of Sam and Dean. But lately a certain one has seemed more compelling especially re: what Blurrywife's relation to Chuck is (if we are considering the Chuck Won theory to be true) because, well, she doesn't exactly strike me as a Heavenly entity.

...but do yall remember Becky? Crazy fangirl who tried to drug and r*pe Sam, but eventually actually got the help she needed, and had a family and a healthy life (while still being in the spn fandom and writing fic) (this show gets... so meta...) before Chuck sought her out as a sounding board for his clearly-the-actual-finale crappy ending. She hated it, he poofed her out of existence, its largely understood though never putright stated that "Jack" brought her back along with everyone else.

Now, I don't think Becky IS Blurrywife. I think Becky made a deal with something. Think about it. Assuming comes back, she has the criticial thinking skills to be just as sus about the whole "Jack Is God" thing as the fandom irl is. She has every reason to think that Chuck's bad ending is still coming for Sam and Dean- so what does she, as a supernatural fan within the supernatural universe, do? She makes a deal. Maybe not with a demon, but with a creature who promises some power over Sam and Dean's story. So, what do we know about what Becky wants for Sam and Dean?

-She writes "brother-focused" fanfic

-She most likely wants a happy ending, which most likely would include Sam & Dean being together forever

-Given when in the show she appears, she clearly had her heyday in the fandom during the in-universe book equivalent of the first 6 seasons

-At least at one point, she was romantically and sexually obsessed with Sam to the point of trying to force him to marry her

So, knowing that anything offering a "Deal" in spn is giving you a Monkey's Paw situation at best and just flat out killing you/the person you want to protect at worst. If, right after she's returned to life/existence in 15x19, Becky makes a deal with some entity to give Sam & Dean (not Cas or Jack or anyone else, JUST Sam & Dean) a "happy ending" or "good ending".... especially if part of that deal is Becky sharing her knowledge of Sam & Dean with that entity....

(now, there actually IS a creature that fits this whole description exactly, AND!!! is an Irish creature often described as Banshee-Adjacent. That leads into another read of Blurrywife that I think does good things for spn's narrative, which is that, in a reversal of the usual "Sam's Dead Girlfriends" dynamics, Blurrywife is one of Eileen's longterm hunts who essentially lays a trap for Sam (Dean is absolutely just collateral damage in this case) to get at Eileen, in the same was Sam's longer-term opponents would go after his romantic relationships)

also TO BE CLEAR, this is not me blaming Becky in-canon/blaming "Bibros" or whatever on a meta level for the finale. In-canon, this theory has Becky acting out of nothing but genuine care and concern for Sam & Dean, yet sadly meeting the fate of all those who make deals in spn, likely dying herself while her actions unwittingly set up the very "bad ending" she was trying to prevent. On a meta level, similarly, I do think that the view of spn held by "Bibros" was largely taken out of context and distorted by The CW/certain spn writers to kinda-justify their utter pile-of-shit finale.

Ep 10... oh boy theres a lot to say with this one.

We begin with a nice twist. The woman needing help is Akrida and the victim is the other woman who's stopped to help. Since I've recently been reminded of it, this set up instantly made me think of Sam.meeting Cole for the 1st time, but in that the one flatlined actually needed help.

The Akrida committed to the acting I see.

God the actresses did such a good job raising the tension

Congrats Mary for getting into college and I like that John is actually happy for her, even ribbing her a bit. Love that dynamic actualy.

"Normal life will have to wait another day" thay cut deep fellas ngl. Mainly because i would argue its exactly what Sam and Dean told themselves to put off actually getting to do anything they wanted. And we have this exact sentiment echoed 5 min later by Carlos for why they need to break up with Anton (cant afford to with the fate of the world on their shoulders). The fact that both of these are accompanied by Dean's monologue about hunting and happy endings? Very very relevant to Dean and the life he led. But more importantly, the "how far will I go to get it" echoes back a few.more things amd makes it almost ominous. We'll come back to this when we meet Mr Sheffield (i dont remmeber the characters name rn, will use it later when they say it) since the dark meaning to Dean's words is highlighted by his story.

This might be the most clear indication of who Carlos was before the Winchesters, the version Samuel was mentioning when talking about them a few ep ago. The lone wolf version, the impulsive one, the not getting close to ppl one. Im very happy they've changed, i think they're happier like this.

Sooo, either Jack was really the one experimenting on monsters or that actually was Hobbes' job, regardless we know what that turned into - not just the various bodyguards that our scooby gang has encoutered thus far, but the more insidious uses too like the monsters Cuthbert Sinclaire reprogramms or the manipulation of Mrs Butters or even Mary's own brainwashing. Safe to say all this send my mind to Naomi and how heaven has a very similar approach to keeping their angels in check. Fitting then that it's the Winchester side of the family that is MOL legacy with the Campbell side being the hunters family qho tends to go for a more straightforward will just eliminate the threat vibe (more hell aligned u could say). "A lobotomy makes most monsters subservient *wink*" he says and I cannot not be filled with revulsion on multiple layers. Including the actual issue with lobotomies generally and how their extended "use" was due to a fraud profitting off of people... yeaaaa all the red flags with Jack/Porter here. But also in general it goes back to the type of MOL we have in SPN, the exact kind that JAck/Porter is are the ones still alive, who have very little actual care of who they harm in their scientific pursuit.

You know the thing that actually annoys me about people like Jack/Porter? The fact that if he'd applied his knowledge to actually get ppl depossessed he could've actually done something helpful, that would save ppl, but nope, instead he focused everything into his fixation and inability of letting go. To everyones detriment.

Well, Roxy's motel room reminds me of several times we've seen Dean in similar places... especially after the Mark got bad.

And we have another instance of possession being portrayed as the violation it actually is. SPN had a few moments of showing this, most notably with Sam and Lucifer, but we've rarely had such an indepth showing of exactly how someone no longer possessed is coping. The only other ones I can remember clearly delving into are Jeffrey in s7 and Nick in s14, but in both those cases, Jeffrey and Nick were more akin toa depiction of Stockholm Syndrome or at the very least a dependence had been created having been possessed so long. Which is in itself a bit problematic a message to send tbh, but Roxy meanwhile is the opposite. Not only does she not want the Akrida back, she actively is trying to deny it ever having happened initially and she def doesnt want to be reminded of it.

Ironic that it's Carlos who says the forgetting isnt working for Roxy... considering

I also adore the parallel made between Jack/Porter and Lata in this episode? Like they both have that scientific curiosity that can become really dangerous (as seen with Jack) but unlike Jack, Lata actually wants to help people so she uses what she knows (just as much a type of brainwashing technique as Jack/Porters lobotomy fyi) to offer someone help. But! Lata asks for Roxy's consent and is upfront, where Jack/Porter is lying and manipulating and taking foe himself.

Mary's instant red flag reading of Jack/Porter for the win, but she should've listened to her instincts faster. She believes next to nothing of his words. I love her so much.

I love the round table Arkida scene... its so much fun to watch. Ironic that the Akrida call hunters pests... also yay Dean!

The fact that Jack/Porter is so so pissed off is his own downfall tbh. The bitter comments fucked up his facade.

The description of her possession is way to visceral fuck I fogot how hard to watch this was. And how much it echoes to asault. Not even echoes tbh considering we have a clearer scene relating to sexual assault when Jack/Porter tries to have Dorothea possess Mary so thw comparison of possession to assault is very much there this episode.

Wonder if Jack Wilcox defected to the Brits in SPN? And began what would later be Lady Bevell's expertise? The fact that he even put on a British accent def is meant to remind us of Bevell and the Brits.

Aww, Carlos and Lata are so so kind and comforting with Roxy. I love them so much.

Im so proud of Roxy, but what I genuinely love about how the ep was written is that even if she'd have gone along with the erasing of her memory, it still would've been a valid way for her to move on. Like this it obviously works two fold in somewhat convincing Carlos they also should take a leap of faith that alls gonna be well with Anton, but its set up in such a way that regardless of Roxy's choice at the end, Roxy's own wellbeing was all that mattered however that looked. I can appreciate the nareative not ramming a specific interpretation down our throats.

Ah, yes, wartime decisions excusing the means... it nearly never actually applies tho, Jack. Tho I will say it's very satisfying having it be said to John who in SPN would use this exact rethoric for a while slew of shitty choices.

Now I wont get into the whole issue with the golem being used in this ep and specifically how they kill the golem - others have said far more better informed stuff on it (shoutout to @endofthebookpod fantastic episode discussion) and I do have a plethora of issues with it - what I do wanna say on the subject tho is that at leasr insofar as Jack is concerned it makes sense that he'd steal and use a golem for his own benefit (similar to how the nazi did in 8x13). The actual problem with this is how the writers chose to tackle dealing with the golem here. Because ultimately the golem is used as a weapon by Jack, just as all his lobotomised monsters were. But the ep chosing to not clarify a few things and deciding to burn the golem??? Not good fellas, not fucking good at all.

I do appreciate John's resilience in fighting the golem tho.

Like I said, the sexual assault parallel to possession is even more clear when discussion Mary's possession.

Gruesome death for Jack tho, I will say.

I also love that Lata explains why Roxy wanting to erase her traumatic memories isnt the same as Carlos avoiding dealing with his intimacy issues. But I also love that Carlos feels safe actually confiding in Lata, for all that they banter and shit talk they're each others person.
