do you still have that story where saizo and corrin have a baby girl and he's worried about how he's going to raise her? it was soooo fluffy and one of my favorites 🥹🩷

(This is one of my favorites so I really wanted to repost it, which means I got to rewrite it from scratch!! Hope you enjoy)

You were both shocked when you discovered you were pregnant a third time. There were never been plans to expand the family further, as you were quite satisfied with your two boys.

Asugi and Kana were over the moon at the prospect of another sibling. Someone else to cause mischief with.

While Saizo was initially floored upon the discover, he was also quite eager. That is, until Azama and Sakura started gossiping about how different this pregnancy was.

How you were more irritable and ache-y than before, and that your physical and emotional struggles were much harder. It was deeply worrying for Saizo, but the healers assured him it was normal; and that it was incredibly common to see when women were pregnant with daughters.

They were quite certain it was a girl, not a  boy.

He didn’t believe them, of course. The Saizo line had never produced a daughter. Surely he wouldn’t be the first to do so! 

But then Orochi started foreseeing a lot of dainty, delicate clothes in the future; and him and his boys glaring at all sorts of potential suitors for this new child.

It only meant one thing, really; there must be a girl on the way.

Saizo had been stressing about it for weeks leading up to the birth. It was only in that moment you could know for sure. Because if he found out it was a girl…well, he had no idea what to do.

The day of labor came, and you were pushing, fighting to bring that baby into the world for all you were worth. It was a difficult birth, which convinced Saizo that three was more than enough.

The labor was finished off and the baby was finally delivered. He heard the sharp cry through the doors, which silenced all other mumbling and murmuring nearby.

The third-born of Saizo and Corrin officially arrived.

“Oh my gods, everyone!! You'll never believe it- Corrin has a new baby girl!!” Elise exclaimed, bursting out of the delivery room with sparkling eyes.

Everyone cheered, save for Kaze and Saizo.

The green-haired ninja eyed his brother warily, knowing that he had been squeamish at the thought of a daughter.

Now it had become his reality.

“Saizo…are you all right?”

He could not form words, speechless behind his mask. Kaze put a tentative hand on his brother’s shoulder.

“It will be all right, Saizo. My Midori is a wonderful little girl. I’m sure your daughter will be, too.”

“My…daughter.” He echoed, the words bringing him back to his senses. “My child- my wife, are they…?”

“They're both just fine, Saizo!” Elise informed him, “Corrin is awake, and in good spirits! Would you like to see them before we take the baby for her assessment? Corrin really wants you to come in!”

“Yes…of course.” He quickly followed her into the delivery room, the doors shutting behind him. And with it, silence followed. Now that he was there, time slowed to a stop; just mere steps away was his child. A girl. He wasn't sure if he was brave enough to face it.

“Saizo,” Your voice was weak, and strained hoarse. It was no wonder, from all the fighting you had to do just moments earlier. 

The quiet call broke his spell, drawing him back into reality so he could swiftly go to your side.

Saizo bent over, touching your hair and brushing it away from your face. You leaned into his touch, but you did not bring your hands up to meet his. They were preoccupied.

“Are you all right?” He asked you worriedly, looking you over to ensure you were not in any immediate danger. You nodded with a deep breath, tilting your face towards the child on your chest.

“We’re both okay. We…we have a daughter, Saizo.” You whispered to him, “Isn’t she beautiful?”

“I…” He trailed off, swallowing in a feeble attempt to steel himself. 

Nestled in a bundle of blankets was a very tiny, new ittle girl. She had a shock of crimson hair, just like him. There was a deep warmth that bloomed in his chest, gazing at his third-born child.

But with that warmth came a very real, very concerning spike of worry.

“Saizo?”

“Ah…yes. Yes, she is very beautiful.” He confirmed with a pinched frown, “But I worry.”

“You worry?” You reached up to cup his cheek, in tandem shifting the little girl so he might better see his perfectly healthy daughter.

“Of course I do- she’s the first daughter to ever be produced by the Saizo line.”

“That is a great honor.” You pointed out with a soft smile, quite proud to have been the first to make history in his family.

Well, aside from being a princess and a dragon. That also raised the stakes a little bit. But Saizo was far more concerned with other things.

“It is unprecedented; quite literally. How…how am I supposed to- how do we raise a girl?”

“It’s pretty straightforward, dear. Like the boys, but a little different.”

“There are no guides on how to train a Saizo in the secret family arts- not for one that is a girl!! All of our techniques, the flaming ninjutsu- they were created and perfected strictly for men!”

“Then we will find a way to teach her differently. She will adapt- she’s your daughter.”

“But she will be smaller than Asugi and Kana. Which means she may be more fragile, and have less stamina, and strength, and-”

“If you went toe to toe with me, do you think you’d be able to overpower me without a dragonstone?”

“...Perhaps. It tends to be an even match when we duel.” Saizo hummed, brow furrowed as he considered it. You gestured to your snoozing newborn.

“She will be no different to me. Besides; Kagero, Orochi and Rinkah are all exemplary warriors. No matter which path she chooses, I know she’ll be an excellent warrior with your tutelage. Though I doubt you’d let her go far from the ninja way.”

“I would prefer she grew up like Kagero in terms of skills, it’s true.” He admitted, but the worry lingered. You frowned some, seeing he had yet to be comforted.

You raised your hand, gently lowering the mask to reveal a deep frown on his lips. 

“What else are you worried about? It’s better to get it all out now than later, don’t you think?” You joked some, tilting your head towards the baby.

Saizo frowned softly, “I worry that she will be vulnerable…and her face…her hair! She will look just like me!”

“Is that bad?”

“Yes!! Think of all the suitors she will have-- the boys and girls!! Can you imagine the kind of trouble that we’ll have to protect her from?!”

“Ohh…” Your smile broadened, “You want to protect your little girl already?”

“I just…it will be difficult for her as she gets older. Especially as the first and only daughter of a Saizo. I worry about many things…some I cannot even begin to think about- I do not know how to raise a daughter, o-or what she will need from me, or the best way to train her, or…there are too many unknowns, Corrin!” He cleared his throat, looking away. 

You shook your head, carefully shifting the baby up for him. “Why don’t you hold her? I know it will make all your worries fade away.”

“N-no, I…I don’t think I should…” He trailed off, just as you passed the little bundle right into his arms. 

The instant she landed in his arms, it was like his whole world shifted.

His little girl was hardly the length of his forearm, but just the sight of her filled his chest. He held her close and snug, right to his heart. 

She was perfect.

And it made all of his fears fade away in an instant.

“See?”

Your voice was almost faded in the background. He was utterly enraptured by his daughter. The first daughter of the Saizo line.

And she was so beautiful.

You were beaming, a single tear slipping from the corner of your eye as you watched your husband fall even deeper in love with his daughter than he ever thought possible.

“I…I can’t even remember what I was so worried about.” His voice was shaky. Just like he was when he held his baby Asugi and baby Kana.

You held out your hand, which Saizo was very quick to take. 

He squeezed your hand, carefully shifting so that he was sitting right on the edge of the bed, bringing his daughter to rest between her mother and father.

“You were right.” He murmured softly, and leaned down, kissing your forehead. “I’m so proud of you…you’ve done well.”

“Heehee…” You tilted your chin up, prompting a proper kiss. “I hope you won’t mind handling the boys while I recover. I think we’ll have our hands full for a while.”

“Do not fret. I will take care of everything. I will make sure that my wife, my sons and my daughter are all well tended. You have my word.”

“As a Saizo?” You grinned at him, and he chuckled softly, hugging you and your little girl to his chest.

“As your Saizo. Both of you.”

Update 2.0.0 of Unofficial Gay Fates is here! After over three years of working on this project, we've finally hit 2.0.0, and wanted to make this update a little more special. This update adds in a new title screen for the mod, changing the 'Fates' on the title screen to a rainbow. This is edited for each route of the game! In addition, the cutscene that plays upon attaining your first S support now has two gender-neutral figures, instead of a man and woman's. Big thanks to Tru for making both of these edits!

In addition, we've also added another paralogue edit, this time for Shigure. As both Jakob and Felicia appear in the intro depending on your Avatar's gender, there are two different variants. One for if Jakob is married to Azura, and another if Felicia is.

My OTP is Saizo x Camilla. I am literally so pissed they can't support they would be the funniest couple ever, because Camilla would be super into PDA with Saizo just to tease him and he would be SO embarrassed. Also, most importantly, Camilla would be best mom for Gaius Clone because she'd probably help him bake desserts, and come up with new recipes that she thinks he'd like and follow him on his missions and probably just completely butcher all of the enemy officers in cold blood before Asugi could even get there. When Asugi realized that his mom, Hinoka, snuck along for his mission, he was surprised.

When he did a double take and realized that yes, that was his mom’s freaking pegasus crouched behind her, he was at a loss for words.

When he went to explain to his father about his failed mission, only to find out that his mother’s pegasus was an accomplished ninja pegasus and had already finished the mission while he was freaking out about his mom being there, he was flabbergasted.

Saizo took pity on his eldest boy and beckoned the young man over to his side. Putting an arm around his shoulder, Saizo began regaling his son of the time he had first discovered that Hinoka’s Pegasus was a ninja.

There was a ghost pirate ship involved. Because of course it was. Nothing was ever simple in the Hoshido royal family.

Age Swap AU Pairings

A list of who gets together and my opinions/reasons for these pairings.

This will be specifically for a Revelations Route, so if you wanna ship different combinations of characters in this AU, I won’t stop you.

I also won’t be getting into the Child Units (yet.) With all of that in mind, here’s the ASAU Pairings:

Corrin X Azura. I mean… it’s Corrin and Azura. How can I not? Especially since they’re not altered in this AU, but their kids are. Imagine big sibling Kana little brother Shigure dynamic.

Sakura X Hana. I’m as much of a sucker for Sakulise as the next FE14 fan, but honestly the bond these two have and have had for easily a decade at this point just overrides the softness of Adult Sakulise. Shiro is their son with Ryoma serving as a surrogate father.

Elise X Effie. Same as with Sakura and Hana, Elise and Effie’s bond in this universe (realm?) is just too strong for me not to pair them together. Siegbert is their son with Xander serving as a surrogate father.

Takumi X Oboro. This is a cute pairing, what can I say? Can you tell I’m a sucker for Liege X Lord pairings? Also, just imagine cute and sweet Kiragi making his mom’s Demon Face.

Leo X Niles. I don’t even know how to put my feelings on this pair into words, so I’ll just trust y’all to accept it. Forrest is their son with Beruka serving as a surrogate mother.

Hinoka X Hinata. This pairing is unique since it’s the only time I don’t ship a lord with their non swapped retainer (or another lord) but honestly I just like the himbo samurai/tomboy princess dynamic. Also protective older cousin Hisame is interesting.

Camilla X Beruka. Cute but strong Malig and her scary Assassin waifu? What’s not to love? Also Niles served as a surrogate father so they raise Nina together.

Ryoma X Xander. I decided to pair these two together since I figured I should do at least one pairing between a Hoshido and Nohrian royal. Since they couldn’t have kids with each other, they agreed to be surrogates so their oldest sisters could have kids, allowing Shiro and Siegbert to exist in this world.

Jakob X Charlotte. A very… very chaotic duo. This was simply a duo born from the fact that they were kinda just leftover after I paired off most of the other characters. Add super strength to Dwyer’s mountain of secret skills.

Silas X Felicia. One: they’re cute. Two: imagining Sophie inheriting Felicia’s clumsiness and ice magic is equally hilarious and terrifying.

Kaze X Orochi. Stoic ninja who struggles with feeling like he failed his liege due to something out of his control plus merry diviner who struggled with feeling like she failed her liege due to something out of her control equals both fun shenanigans and absolute angst. Also imagining Midori being able to somehow use a combination of Divining and her Medicine could make her a force of nature in her own way.

Saizo X Kagero. What can I say, I’m a sucker for this duo too. I’m sure they could be happy together once Saizo learns to stop having the personality of a cactus. Plus having two Ninja parents probably makes Asugi a super ninja.

Laslow X Selena X Odin. If I was gonna have Corrin get with Azura, an OT3 would be needed so all the kids would be capable of existing and I’m just a sucker for this trio. I’ll be using Henry!Laslow, Robin!Selena, and Lon’qu!Odin. Soleil inherits the Fell brand, Ophelia inherits the Exalts’s brand, and they get to be awesome redhead step sisters. Sorry to anyone who ships these two.

Azama X Subaki: …ok, look, so far I’ve done three wlw and only two mlm pairings. Two more guys were gonna have to get together. And after I saw these two, reread their supports, then read @unassumingvenusaur’s fanmade S Support for them, I wound up enjoying this pairing immensely. Also for the sake of not having to do anymore surrogates because this is getting complicated: Transmac Subaki (which I feel could not only make his backstory more interesting given the implications of how terrible his parents are) allowing for them to have a brown haired Caeldori and a red haired Mitama who are sisters.

Arthur X Setsuna. Apparently luck works like integers because when you combine an unlucky Fighter with an equally unlucky Archer, you get a doubly lucky Wyvern riding super hero. Also imagining dorks like Arthur and Setsuna together is just adorable tbh.

Kaden X Peri. When I don’t pair Peri (heh) with Laslow, I usually pair her with one of the furries so I can create an absolutely terrifying Kitsune/Wolfskin. In this case I decided that Peri would be Selkie’s mother and the rest of the army gets to suffer then consequences.

Hayato X Mozu. One: this is basically genderswapped Cyril/Lysithea and Donnel/Maribelle which already makes it a win. Two: Rhajat with Mozu’s hair and freckles is a hilariously adorable image.

Benny X Rinkah. Gentle giant meats muscular spitfire to create flaming good boy.

Keaton X Nyx. Yes, let’s pair the most mature woman in the army who considers herself a monster with one of the most immature guys in the army who can turn into a monster.

A Failed Duty

So I kept telling @wylia to kill off Ryoma and make Saizo adopt Shiro and I... kinda... imagined it, so enjoy the pain~

Castle Shirasagi. The season was spring, and bright, light-colored walls as well as the the beautiful flowers gave off the feeling that all its inhocupants were as fine as the weather.

Inside the Royal Chambers, however, lay a hardened ninja and two babies, unaware of the man’s troubled heart. Saizo was never a religious man. No; everything he was, he acquired it with his own power and training. And yet...

“Saiii-Sai-- bluh!” The toddler right in front of him cooed, his puffy cheeks drawing a smile, unaware of his own condition.

Yet how could he have been so utterly weak, gods?! 

Saizo clenched his hand before reaching out for the approaching baby, his tiny hands lifted up as though he could arrive at his destination faster by doing so. The ninja took the small prince on his arms and grieved at his own powerlessness.

To outlive his lord -- to outlive almost the entirety of the family he swore to serve and protect -- oh, the shame he felt!

“Da-da! Daada!” The other boy he was looking after puffed his cheeks with jealously, his tiny steps landing heavily on the tatami floor as he made his way to his father.

Once again Saizo’s heart fell, but he hardened his jaw as he put baby Shiro over one arm and extended the other to his son -- Saizo the sixth. Or Little Sai, as Kamui liked to call him.

“Be strong, Sai.” He murmured more to himself than to the baby now gripping at his finger for support. “You’ll be stronger than I ever was, and you’ll see to your duty properly.” He brought Shiro closer to his heart and caressed Sai’s cheek. “Don’t outlive your lord, Saizo.”

His voice was grave, as though he was talking to himself rather than to his own son. “I know I won’t make the same mistake again.”

so. kaze and saizo both have the same main class (ninja) and secondary class (samurai). which means kaze!asugi would have only gotten one extra class. so the game decided to give him cavalier????

is it bcos kaze and saizo are the evolution of the fire emblem red/green cavalier brothers. does inbreeding them draw out their long-lost cavalier dna

Today’s my birthday and I wanted to request some cute headcanons for female Corrin Kana and Asugi celebrating Saizo’s birthday.

(Happy belated birthday! I’m sorry I didn’t get to it sooner, but I had to at least give you a present kdfjksjf)

Saizo’s family is always more thrilled about his birthday than anyone else (especially him, seeing how he couldn’t care less). It was just another day for him, but you insisted on making it special the second you found out the date.

The only downside to sharing a birthday with a twin, he supposed.

But it did become something he enjoyed more as time wore on, from the first birthday he spent with you, just the two of you….all the way to now, with two young boys as eager to celebrate as you were.

He loved commemorating young Saizo and little Kana’s birthdays, and your own. He just didn’t see the appeal of his personal date of birth. That’s what the family was for; to show him just how special he is to all of you.

It starts with a sweet kiss from his wife, who somehow managed to wake up just before him as the sun broke the skyline.

You booked time at one of his favorite hot springs, the Outrealm close to the Castle and an hour there passing like a minute would in their world. There would be no guilt in staying there for a day.

The kiss, naturally, is followed by a warm smile and a rosy blush. “Happy birthday, my love.”

It made his heart skip a beat, as it did every year.

He would hum and draw you in for another kiss, this one longer and a little more demanding. You break paart with a shy giggle, a small hand on his chest.

“Thank you.”

You only have a few moments of peace before the boys attack, now that you’re the parents of not one, but two very handsome troublemakers.

Saizo is able to brace for attack before they leap onto the bed, all but knocking over their mother so they can cover their father in hugs and kisses.

“Happy birthday, Papa!!”

Kana’s squeal is paired with his brother’s mischievous giggles, who is currently trying to climb on top of his father.

Saizo has a surprising amount of patience for his children- it’s not something he shares with stranger’s or friend’s spawn. But when they accidentally tug on his hair or kick his shoulder in their attempts to administer their snuggles, he brushes it off like it’s nothing.

The pair of them are scooped up and tucked under each arm, following you out of the bedroom to start the birthday celebrations. All this really means is that the four of you will spend a day at the Outrealm’s river, with a nice picnic prepared for them. 

Saizo’s (secret) favorite foods are obviously prepared. A small cake for the boys to enjoy is included, and Saizo gets his own little treats that are more on the savory side. 

His favorite gifts will obviously come much later at night, when the boys are long asleep. But for now, he gets little handmade crafts from the pair, and a new muffler lovingly knitted by his wife.

It’s enough to bring a grown man to tears (which it does, though covertly and out of sight of his family).

It does give him a whole new appreciation for his birthday, though. Knowing that his favorite people in the entire world love him so much….it really does make all the hassle worthwhile.

What does your blog name mean?

I started this blog back in May 2013, back then I was at the height of my dreaming career, it came to me in a fit of inspiration- Yeah, okay. I just wanted a cool and mysterious sounding blog name so I went with Illusions of Dreaming thinking I’ve hit jackpot. Years later I regret my childhood cringe naming sense having to follow me into my latter years, but the name stuck and I’m too lazy to bother with updating all my links because I changed the blog title.

Will you be writing for (X fandom) any time soon?

Maybe, maybe not, it’s all depending on my muse. I might fall out of a fandom after losing muse for it but who’s to say I won’t revisit it in the future? (unless I left that fandom for a good reason.)

Unofficial Gay Fates 2.1.0 Is here! This update adds in 64 new supports, as well as implemented the new Custom Endings I showed off before! This release features 105 custom endings.
