“Let us fix our gaze on the Blood of Christ and realize how truly precious It is, seeing that It was poured out for our salvation and brought the grace of conversion to the whole world” (Pope St. Clement I).

"God is Love, and His Spirit is Peace. I see now that my deeds which have flowed from love are more perfect than those which I have done out of fear."

Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon; Where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope; Where there is darkness, light; And where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console, to be understood as to understand, to be loved, as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive, It is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
St. Francis of Assisi

Saint Seraphim of Sarov had a great affinity for animals and could often be seen preaching and talking with them.
Once, some nuns came upon him sitting in deep conversation with a very large bear. The nuns were terrified and begged the saint to please come away. Saint Seraphim smiled and said "be not afraid!" Then, producing a small icon of the Theotokos, he presented it to the bear. To the amazement of the nuns, the great beast lowered himself and venerated the icon of the Mother of God.
"You cannot be too gentle, too kind. Shun even to appear harsh in your treatment of each other. Joy, radiant joy, streams from the face of one who gives and kindles joy in the heart of one who receives."

My spirit burns in active love. I waste no time in dreaming. I take every moment singly as it comes, for this is within my power. The past does not belong to me; the future is not mine; with all my soul I try to make use of the present moment.
- St. Maria Faustina Kowalska

Pray without ceasing on behalf of everyone. For in them there is hope of repentance so that they may attain to God. Permit them, then, to be instructed by your works, if in no other way. Be meek in response to their wrath, humble in opposition to their boasting; to their blasphemies return your prayers; in contrast to their error be steadfast in the faith; and for their cruelty display your gentleness.
St. Ignatius
