In this little corner of the web, I will be archiving some of the Sailor Moon fandom from days gone by (1997-early 00s). Here you will find hilarious old rumors and my own personal fan-fiction that I penned years ago, as well as other's fanfics as well. 

I hope you enjoy what this space has to offer and please check dates for when things were posted. Some of the rumors were products of their time, and since we are no longer in the 00's I ask you to bear that in mind before making any comments.

Random-Mailbox's Favorite Sailor Moon Fics - Week 45 - Reviving Shitennou

This week’s post is about bringing Shitennou back into the fold of the team. I wish that had happened in the manga / anime and am a little disappointed we did not get that in Cosmos. BUT that is what fanfiction is for! (To help us collectively right the wrongs / misses in original materials).

We are exactly ONE week away from @usamamoweek2023! Are you excited? Because I am very excited and am trying to finish my own submissions for this year's prompts

Story Idea: has anyone ever tried retelling SM without including ChibiUsa/Small Lady?

Like, has anyone tried? Any recs? They well written? Make sense? Complete? If not, how long since it was updated? Where can it be found?

I ask because the narrative of SM's canon kinda relies on her after a certain point until another certain point and I'm wondering if anyone's tried to write her out, either because they don't like her or her attitude ( <- I mean the 90's anime specifically, of which I'm a club member and have been since her debut) or because they just wanted to see if it was feasible.

'Cause I believe it is. "How?" one might ask. "Keep reading to find out." I'd reply.

See, once the Makaiju Arc is done, all that really needs to happen is that Rei gets a premonition while meditating before the Sacred Fire or Ami's palmtop registers an anomaly for them to check out if Usa herself hasn't already stumbled upon the first attempt to conquer a Crystal Point. Meanwhile, being injured, practically comatose due to the embedded Black Crystal acting similarly to the DMC's webs and scared for his family with no evacuated daughter for him to 'lock-on' to his past self it's hard for Kendy to send anything remotely coherent to Mamo's dreams, because instead of being a test they're meant to be warnings that Mamo misinterprets as premonitions because, while Kendy once was Mamo he isn't any more what with having a loving girlfriend-since-turned-wife-and-partner/Queen and loving sisters-from-other-misters as his support (his Shitennou too but only if they've been revived) and for so much longer, the King's forgotten how he used to be when still a Prince. As such, Mamo keeps his nightmares a secret and promptly breaks up with the love of his lives thinking he's protecting her when... he's really not.

Of course, the girls work together to find out WTF's going on since Kendy can't send the warning to his past-wife. Instead, Minako keeps Usa's hope alive by telling her he lied, their Bond is platinum; Mako tries to get him to open up by attempting to bond over their orphaned status and how much better their lives are since Usa came into them; Ami is the one to notice the strange readings Kendy is causing around Mamo, and Rei's the one who's able to interpret the visions as warnings about the BMC once Mamo's finally been 'broken down' by Usa and the love between them. Usa's still kidnapped by Diamond but it's Pluto who guides them to the future, giving them relevant info while warning to not meet with their future selves or go looking for unnecessary info, to rescue her. Once arrived, TK collapses because the King's unknowingly interfering with him now that they're in the same Time and they need to wake him just enough to get him to stop; TK is obviously left near NQS while the girls go do that. Once done, a plan to get SM out is made. That is, the Senshi will cause mayhem and distraction for the BMC members present while TK breaks in to bring back their Princess. They defeat Death Phantom through Kendy and NQS lending their spiritual strength and experience to their past counterparts, while TK and Senshi support her 'physically', thus keeping Moon's use of the Ginzuishou from killing her.

The Promise of the Rose can happen as it does, but it's Usa who motivates herself to get her man back. The girls, of course, support her decision because they care for him too.

For S, it could be that it's Usa who makes friends with poor Hotaru rather than the angst that is Chibi wanting to prove herself her mother's daughter; as though her father, through whom she inherits her Throne (if not her powers) and connects to her would-be Husband, don't frickin' matter! Which, what?! Like, one could have it that it's initially through Ami that they meet, her Mother being a medical Dr compared to the Prof being a scientist Dr or maybe a program for Genii to help with socialization or even Mamo being the one to find her collapsed through his King-induced burgeoning Psychometry and unknowingly uses some of his healing energy on her, but it's Usa who's able to get close and actually help her open up and maybe even find a reason/the energy to fight against Mistress9 more than canon 'cause her unknown bond as a Senshi with her just as oblivious Princess has given her more energy than she once had. Instead of Chibi's Pure Heart being stolen, it's the stolen Holy Grail that finally gives Mistress9 the boost to overtake Hotaru. It's Mamo's use of his Psychometry that reaches Hotaru's sleeping consciousness, and Usa's bond with him reaching through him that awakens Saturn, but Usa couldn't care less for the power Saturn has. She just wants to rescue her new friend and so she does; the fact she's also a Senshi is just a bonus, it means neither she nor her friends have to distance themselves to keep her safe from future enemies, once they're able to help her regulate her power. Hell, it could go that Usa uses the Ginzuishou to do just that; put a valve on her that disappears when she achieves complete control or in dire emergencies beforehand. The other Outers obviously stick around to also help; even becoming her Guardians in the event her father can't look after her.

Hearts in Ice's conclusion can happen as it does by way Mamo taking Chibi's place in the Planet Attack. Can you imagine? There SM is, acting as a conduit of all these different powers coming together to use to save the world surrounded by all these glowing women with a single glowing man in the mix?

For SuperS, obviously without his Maiden in the picture Helios finds refuge in the dreams of his Liege, right? So, how does that fit the given canon, what with poor Pegasus being treated like TK in the 1st season for some reason, Mamo been attacked by Fish-Eye the episode before Usa and the whole 'becoming bed-bound because of the DMC's webs and Chibi being exposed as having Pegasus and subsequently kidnapped during the Finale' to name a few? Easy. Having learned his lesson from R, he actually tells Usa what he can about what's going on who promptly tells the girls so that they can all work together to keep him, and thus Helios, safe while doing their best to also help the people who're otherwise targeted, maybe even make plans to make themselves red herrings. Thus, various types of bonding can ensue because it would be weird, not to mention suspicious, for him to be surrounded by various-aged women all the time. ((Usa's role is obvious; Ami's his medical study-buddy; Haruka with their love of their cars/motorcycles; Hotaru with their healing abilities; Mako and Setsuna as orphans, being isolated for so long and/or cooking-buddies; Mina and Michiru could be the playful ones wanting to Troll Usa by using him as their beard for certain functions or really getting the people going by taking up each amused but exasperated arm; Rei with his Psychometry and meditation are just a few examples. I can think of all sorts of other combinations to get them all bonding for various in-character reasons)) Hell, with Helios in his dreams to teach him what he should know as the Golden Crystal's true wielder, Mamo might even be able to revive the Shittennou as they should've been so that he doesn't have to be guarded by the Senshi 24/7, as much as he loves each one in their own right, and he can have guy friends (sorry Motoki) he doesn't need to keep secrets from. And because they're revived, Mamo isn't bed-bound near the Finale because the guys take their fair share of 'sickness' caused by Earth's plight. Feeling only a fifth of the burden from canon leaves him the ability to help confront the woman who's taken Elysian's Head Priest and rescue the poor soul from his imprisonment. As for SM's transformation into Eternal, it's Mamo who takes Chibi's place with giving some of his power to her to power up to Eternal and I'd say that Helios and the Shitennou are the ones who bears the brunt of Mamo's kidnapping rather than Chibi. Helios is the one who gets sick to the point of death and the guys start acting like the puppets they once were, even as they try their best to fight the possession off, under Metallia's control; the Inners' worst nightmare come to life. Either that or Nehelania's last bit before taking off with Mamo through the mirror causes the Shitennou to split in two, where one set, significantly weakened, falls unconscious and the other acts like the puppets of Metallia to harrow the girls. But, as explained by the dying Helios, to destroy one half of the set would destroy the other and they'd stay dead this time, their SoulStones turned to stardust, never to reincarnate again.

Black Dream Hole could feature Hotaru rather than Chibi. There could be a giant sleep-over when Hotaru is 'called' and it's due to Luna and/or Artemis, 'cause she accidentally stepped on a tail on her way out, that they're able to follow after her. And when she's nabbed and taken anyway? Can you not imagine it? The rage and worry and whatnot of not only Moon, one could technically call her Hotaru's new mother if one thinks about it a bit sideways, but the other Outers coughUranus-especiallycough about their youngest being taken?

With Stars, Mamo's Starseed is taken, but the reason no one, not Usa or the Shitennou specifically as Bonded a hella lot more intimately if differently to him, suspects anything's wrong (if one doesn't go with the Reboot's version of events, that is) is because a stolen Starseed doesn't cause True Death, just disembodiment; though actually watching it happen can feel like they'd watched someone die. It would take a few years before a Starseed holder starts losing their Sense of Self, and even longer if they have Bonds with other Starseed holders. It is only once the said Sense of Self is lost that a Starseed holder can be considered truly Dead. Said Starseed having to be released to be reborn to gain a new Sense of Self; and even then what pre-incarnations it might have had are gone forever. Never to be remembered. All that aside! With the Shitennou also there, I'm thinking that Usa would have a little bit more of an easier time with Mamo's trip to America because he charged them with looking after her and they take that seriously by making it a point to try bonding with her as her Senshi had their Prince before they came back. And because the girls and TK never saw more than a bit of the destroyed CT, injured Kendy and crystal-entombed NQS, various BMC members, droids and Wiseman/Death Phantom, (never seeing how many Senshi were active or whether the Shitennou had been revived or any/how many possible family-to-be for anyone while in the future) not to mention how Pluto told them the future wasn't set in stone and that just seeing what they had might change their own into something new, that the strange sense of the other Senshi sounding a bit accusatory with Usa about Mamo regarding Seiya as the season went on might not be a Thing because the Shitennou wouldn't just take that lying down. She's always being escorted by one of them for one reason or another, even taken on 'dates' so that they can ask for advise and tips (as one would ask a sibling for ideas of how to win their crush over if not their interest to see where a relationship might go) regarding their own Lady Senshi as the only one who knows them so well in this life. Hell, they might even try to help her with getting the info the Starlights have, that Seiya would give her if given the chance, if only to be forewarned and thus fore-armed. Because they'd be more concerned on why these Senshi and their evacuated Princess from another solar system might be here rather than that they're present on their planet in the first place.

TL;DR - With some imagination and logic regarding canon and the characters, one can rewrite SM without having to include a certain pink haired, red-eyed little girl from the future. The most likely reason a good portion of people aren't all that gung-ho about UsaMamo, the illusion of having 'no choice' if they want to see her and the oh-so peaceful future she came from. I repeat, the most likely reason, not the only one, because there are others people have but I'm not gonna get into those.

Now, don't get me wrong. I love the sense of female empowerment SM is meant to invoke but I've always hated that Mamo, despite being meant as the ML, is one way or another sidelined as either a damsel, 'throw a rose, make a speech, then leave' type of "useless", have practically (not absolutely no but practically) no connections to the other Senshi or able to be written out and not be missed because he could be considered an outsider to the Senshi groups, his own daughter-to-be included. He was meant to have a more crucial role as support as evidenced by the creator's manga, but the 90s anime did him dirty instead. I think with all that ↑ I've proven that the little pink spore wasn't all that necessary to SM's plot. Do you agree or not?

Also! Just so people know, I'm aware of similar but not quite exactly the type of 'limited' written fics such as "R is for Reverse" by Daikon and the "Dreams" series by Kasienda; both found on Ao3. And "Love Magic" (rated M) by moonwrite on FFN. I highly rec and hope you love if you haven't already read them.

✦ that was something you were sure of

✦ he’s some stupid dweeb with a dorky interest like seance dog who’s not even worth looking at over the gum stuck to your shoe

✦ you’ve known him since you were kids, when he was an annoying little boy with a gap in his teeth

✦ your parents trying to set up playdates with him and his family after moving into the neighborhood some time before you developed your powers

✦ before everything went to shit

✦ at twelve you were sought out by the green lantern’s ring, unsure as to why it chose you or how you were considered worthy

✦ maybe it was due to your childish belief that evil could be thwarted by the power of love and justice, like the pretty guardians and magical girls in the boxsets your mother let you read with her and the old vhs tapes you watched sitting in her lap growing up

✦ maybe it was your stubborn resolve when it came to protecting your friends on the schoolyard from snotty little boys who tried to pick on them (you were sent to the principal’s office due to your quick response to slug your tiny little fists at some stupid brat’s mouth enough to be on a first name basis with them, much to your father’s dismay)

✦ whatever it was, you were over the moon with your newfound abilities

✦ through sheer willpower you were able to construct anything your imagination thought of, you could fly, and (most importantly to your 13 year old self) your ring could create any hero costume design to anything your heart desired, complete with a dazzling transformation sequence to boot

✦ at first it was everything you ever wanted, days at school spent wanting to do nothing but go out and fight the forces of evil with your totally awesome magical powers (sort of)

✦ for a while you even wondered when you’d get your own team (all magical girls had a team comprised of their friends to fight off evil, so obviously you would get one eventually, right?)

✦ you spent a lot of time in class doodling what you thought your team would be like, which of your friends were bound to be chosen next and join your side (in the back of your notebook you even had some little doodles of you and some masked phantom thief type character that you could no longer pin who your kid self was thinking of at the time when you stumbled upon your old notebook)

✦ but of course, life wasn’t that simple

✦ you never got that team of magical girls, or other lanterns to come to your aid and help you fight off evil

✦ you didn’t have a moment where a kind older teammate you picked up along the way reassured you and comforted you when your body ached from being thrown around like a rag doll by some super powered freak trying to destroy a city block

✦ no one else was there to help you when your ring faltered and your constructs fell apart because you were just a little girl fighting for love and justice against real monsters, bad guys who wanted to break your bones or worse, ones who couldn’t be magically defeated with a magic tiara or a special transformation power-up

✦ it was you who had to do all of that

✦ it was you who had to choke back tears and lick your wounds just to push all of that fear down into the pits of your stomach and pull yourself back onto your feet to hit the bastard who broke your rib ten times as hard

✦ your constructs were tougher, brighter even, they no longer shattered after one heavy hit against the body of a big bulky target

✦ but it wasn’t your courage making them stronger—

✦ it was the unwavering resolve that you were going to punch and claw your way out of each hell you got into and survive, even if you had to die trying

✦ at some point you quit sticking your neck out for other people

✦ you stop searching for fights to start and to prevent crime before it escalates with regular patrols of the city

✦ you only ever came to the aid of civilians when danger was making itself present in big conflics, it gives you more time to be a regular girl and live your life

✦ by eight grade you had had to switch schools for fighting other students

✦ mark noticed that before your expulsion you seemed to have quit picking fights to protect your friends (friends who gradually started to drift away from you late seventh grade) and now you seemed to just be starting fights out of nowhere

✦ you needed to let off steam from your hero work, taking it out on some annoying boy in class was the closest thing you had to a goon or grunt

✦ he didn’t see you again until late into high school

✦ or, really he didn’t see you until he ran into eve after getting his powers

✦ because you saw him immediately after transferring back to the same school district and getting enrolled in the same high school as him

✦ somehow the world couldn’t be smaller

✦ you saw him the first day of senior year

✦ how could you forget, you punched him in the jaw at your parents’ funeral nearly four years ago

✦ you basically ignored him as much as you could

✦ i mean really he’s the same as he was as all those years ago as a stupid kid— dorky and innocent

✦ it was almost insulting the way he didn’t recognize you at first, but to be fair you gave him the cold shoulder and pushed past him in the halls whenever you could

✦ he often saw you smoking under the bleachers during breaks

✦ you still got into fights sometimes, he’s seen you throw a mean right hook whenever one of the other students were bothering you, so he generally he keeps his distance (still, he found himself looking at you over his shoulder every time he did notice you, something about the bad girl delinquent vibe gave you an allure of some kind)

✦ so now imagine being you, taking a night off for once from beating crooks bloody and waiting for civilians to get into trouble before swooping in to save them (again), loitering around Burger Mart and using your lantern ring to make a lighter to light a cigarette (you left your lighter at home— a nice vivienne westwood that belonged to your mom)

✦ you’re minding your own business when you see a familiar face come out from the back of the restaurant

✦ your brows scrunch up identifying the boy in uniform as your least favorite regular human on the planet as he’s hauling two trash bags over to the dumpster

✦ you groaned at the sight of him and rolled your eyes, going back to lighting your cigarette when you see him fidget with the bags for a moment before fucking chucking one of them into the fucking stratosphere

✦ you just sort of stare at him from where you were sat with wide, furious eyes

✦ because no way this loser gets powers out of fucking nowhere

✦ no fucking way you have been busting your ass for years getting stronger, learning how to suppress your fear and push yourself to be stronger, faster, more durable, everything to survive when you’re doing your rounds as Earth’s only green lantern

✦ and mark fucking grayson gets to throw massive heaps of trash into fucking space like it was nothing

✦ if there was a God somewhere, you were sure he’s laughing right at you

✦ you’re there when mark— sorry, when invincible makes his debut as a hero, during the initial flaxan invasion,

✦ you’re exceptionally more irritated than usual

✦ the others chalked it up to your usual grouchiness, but atom eve (your one and only friend) caught onto your ire rather quickly with just how aggressive you seemed to be that day

✦ when mark approached eve in the halls at school afterwards you didn’t do anything to hide your scowl, appearing behind her like a shadow

✦ it took him a second to notice you and he’s not all to proud to say your sudden arrival made him jump a little

✦ scared for a second that he was talking loud enough for someone to have heard him reveal his identity when he remembers you as one of the heroes who he fought beside during the flaxan invasion

✦ you’re annoyed when eve offers to lend an ear to mark, call it jealousy or just you being territorial of your only friend, but there was no way mark grayson gets one rocky start as a hero and immediately gets to be reassured by someone

✦ he gets his powers without needing to prove anything, he gets support from the get go by another hero like eve as soon as he doubts himself, it made you sick— HE makes you sick

✦ from then there on you just couldn’t shake this guy off you

✦ you ran into him more often at school, or at the store, hell you were getting put on the same assignments by cecil

✦ you’re sick of him

✦ sick of his stupid face and that dorky grin of his

✦ how he’s always checking in on you when you go down during a fight and how his voice sounded a bit softer when he spoke to you

✦ the way he makes your face heat up and made your stomach flip when he looked at you—

✦ oh…

✦ oh hell no.

✦ you needed to hit something and you needed to hit something hard (preferably mark)

✦ you were already pretty standoffish and kind of mean when you had to interact at school, but now?

✦ whenever you’re paired with him for missions half of it is spent barking at him and calling him stupid for not being careful enough

✦ he doesn’t even really know what gets you so heated sometimes but he’s getting better at dodging your punches when you start wailing on him post fight

✦ you hate how much effort you have to put just to keep up with him sometimes

✦ he makes you put in the work when he’s barely breaking a sweat

✦ you want to hit him with your hardest construct sometimes just to see him get skipped like a stone. he’s durable, he’ll live

✦ seeing you in action is something else

✦ your costume hasn’t really changed since you were younger (really the sailor scout uniform was just too good to switch up)

✦ but the duality of the cute bows on your leotard and the short pleated skirt compared to the sight of you slamming a heavy green mallet over some poor supervillain’s head always draws his attention to you

✦ you fight so effortlessly in mark’s eyes, you’re quick on your feet and there’s a unique power behind your punch that make him feel the earth beneath his feet shake when he sees you clock someone in the jaw

✦ you always looked so cool with your stoic, determined expression and he admires how ✦ you seem so put together, you barely stagger between attacks, it’s as if you’re just going through the motions

✦ watching you ring-sling is such a sight to see

✦ you’re so quick to adapt your light constructs he can’t imagine how fast you must be thinking for you to be able to switch as naturally as you do, almost like breathing

✦ he’s seen you combo your ring-sling constructs with your raw strength, hitting them with a green baseball bat before the same light construct stretched into a tether or a lasso to yank them back into your ring bearing fist— which by then had some brass knuckle or gauntlet wrapped around it to bust up their jaw

✦ you do surprisingly well at keeping up with him, you’re nowhere near as fast or durable as he is after he starts getting deeper and deeper into being invincible, but your willpower wasn’t something to laugh at

✦ he admired your courage and strength, even if he was at the end of some of those punches

✦ the two of you were such a strange pair

✦ both of you seemed oblivious to the way you looked at each other

✦ maybe it was the goggles on his costume but mark never seemed to realize that the scowl on your face wasn’t the same as your usual resting face (though he found the scrunch of your nose and the furrowing of your brows very cute)

✦ and you (despite your observational skills and general common sense) couldn’t tell that the sheepish puppy dog look on his face when he talked to you wasn’t just how his stupid face looked

✦ you also didn’t seem to realize that thinking about him as consistently as you did wasn’t something you’re supposed to do about someone you claimed to despise

✦ eve is at her wits end with you guys, especially since she was most often the one left to mediate between the two of you

✦ rex tried to do that once, but seeing as you were strongly aligned with eve and hold grudges longer than anyone else you still weren’t giving him any civilized response that didn’t involve chucking him into a lamppost ever since eve confided to you about him cheating

✦ also he used your spare lighter as ammunition once and he was still feeling the pain in his arm from when you broke his wrist after that

WIP Wednesdays are back on now that I'm done with the demon AU and once again tackling my ever-expanding list of plot bunnies. I desperately need some shorter projects, so I first picked what will essentially be a pair of sister oneshots with cross-dressing as the central premise—Yuuji in a skirt and then Gojou in a dress. The fics themselves won't be connected in-universe; it's just a shared premise.

I'm nearly done with the first oneshot—a couple more writing sessions and it'll be over, I reckon. So you get skirt-wearing Yuuji this week. Hopefully, I'll be able to post Gojou in a dress next week, but who knows.

Anyway, here comes Skirtfic Wednesday #1—the following scenes are mostly gen interactions between the Tokyo trio, Gojou, and Nanami.

“Why’s he the only one getting fake boobs?” Yuuji asks—he isn’t really sure if he’s envious or not, but it feels like he should ask anyway.

“Your tits are fat enough,” Kugisaki shoots back irritably. “This guy’s as flat as a board.”

Fushiguro doesn’t look too bothered by that assessment. Then again, he’s been staring up at the ceiling for a while now like he can will the wooden beams to fall down and put him out of his misery, so Yuuji’s doubtful whether he even heard her.

But he’s not really doing anything to stop Kugisaki either, even though she’s got both hands stuffed up his shirt. They form weird, squirmy bulges under the silken fabric of the blouse. The one Yuuji’s wearing is pretty tight, especially around the shoulders and chest, but Fushiguro’s has got a little more room—enough for Kugisaki’s arms to not rip anything at least.

Just then, she grumbles something indistinct and takes one arm out, only to stick it down his shirt instead. This time, Yuuji can see a distinct curve form on the left side of Fushiguro’s chest.

“That looks kinda dirty,” he comments. “Like you’re molesting him.”

“Itadori,” she grits out, “shut up.”

Fushiguro hasn’t taken his eyes off the ceiling, but he looks a little more dead-eyed.

After a few more seconds, Kugisaki lets out a semi-satisfied huff and takes her hands out. She pats the chest stuffing over the blouse, and if anything, it looks even dirtier now, like she’s squeezing Fushiguro’s tits. But she was right earlier—Fushiguro kinda doesn’t have anything there. Even these visuals can’t overpower that knowledge.

Kugisaki steps back then, her hands on her hips as she looks Fushiguro up and down. “It’ll do.”

Fushiguro makes a noise that could be acknowledgment, could be despair.

Yuuji checks his phone. “Let’s go then. We’re already late.”

“And whose fault is that?” Kugisaki asks.

“Uh, yours?”

“Huh?!”

“What?” Yuuji holds up his arms defensively. “You’re the one who wanted to give Fushiguro tits!”

“Did you see how that blouse hung on him? Do you know how much time I spent finding outfits that’d fit the two of you? Like hell am I letting his flat chest ruin my hard work. It’s bad enough that we aren’t wearing gloves.”

“Fine, fine…” Yuuji stands up. His skirt immediately pulls up. “Kugisaki, this thing barely covers my dick. I’m gonna flash people.”

She growls. “It’s not my fault you have a third fucking leg.”

“It’d be fine if you didn’t make me wear panties! What’s wrong with boxers?”

“Who wears boxers with a skirt, you moron? And don’t blame the damn outfit! Look at how much more modest Fushiguro is.”

Yuuji looks dutifully at Fushiguro, who’s gone back to staring up at the ceiling—if he ever stopped at all.

“You okay, man?”

“I want,” Fushiguro says calmly, “to die.”

Yuuji blinks. “That’s no good. Anyway, you look really pretty!”

Fushiguro makes a noise. Kugisaki snorts.

“You look really great too, Kugisaki,” Yuuji tells her.

She looks the best out of them three. It’s not just that she’s pretty, it’s also that she’s the only one of them whose frame suits these outfits. Sailor Senshi are all women, and these uniforms are clearly designed for people with a lot more chest and a lot less between their legs than Fushiguro and Yuuji.

Kugisaki fills it out really well. Fushiguro looks fine from the waist below—he’s really got the legs for this, all pale and toned—but whatever Kugisaki’s done to his chest doesn’t really look…organic. Yuuji’s own blouse threatens to rip along the seams at his shoulders whenever he so much as breathes, and he keeps needing to adjust his dick so it won’t just flop around and out of the tiny red skirt.

“Of course I do,” she says, flipping her hair with a smirk. “Now, stop ogling or I’ll nail your eyes shut.”

Technically, they’re working tonight.

Yuuji’s heard a lot about Halloween in Tokyo, especially Shibuya, but this isn’t really anything like the stories—mostly because they’re staying in the campus instead of going to the city. When Yuuji asked about it, Gojou said the day itself is meaningless to curses, despite the spookiness of it all, but the sheer amount of fear-focused activity usually leads to heightened curse activity that lasts for weeks. It’s apparently common for sorcerers to increase patrols in major hotspots on the night of October 31.

But the patrols happen in shifts, and there’s plenty of time in between for some fun.

It was Gojou who proposed a costume party within campus. Kugisaki and Yuuji both leaped at the chance; Fushiguro didn’t outright refuse. The second years were easy enough to rope in, and the third and fourth years aren’t around anyway. Yuuji has no idea how Gojou convinced the principal, but he suspects Panda was involved.

Yuuji’s just glad it’s happening. He’s never really done anything for Halloween before. A couple of times in middle school, his classmates organized something, but those usually overlapped with the hospital visiting hours. Yuuji would go home afterward and curl up with some scary movies…but he did that all the time anyway.

This is different. His friends are here. His teacher is—

“A vampire!” Yuuji crows, taking in Gojou’s costume. “Sensei, you look so cool!”

Gojou blinks. He seems to unfreeze. He sucks in a large breath too, chest swelling noticeably. He must be really dedicated to playing the part if he stopped breathing on seeing them.

At his side, Nanami looks a little constipated.

Gojou comes fully back to life then, bowing with a little flourish. “Thank you, thank you.”

“Suck-up,” Kugisaki mutters from beside Yuuji. “He looks lame. Who the hell thinks a cape is cool?”

“I do,” Yuuji admits cheerfully. “You look good too, Nanamin—but what are you?”

“Myself—”

“A salaryman.” It’s Gojou who answers, throwing an arm around Nanami’s shoulder; Nanami’s expression sours further. “Nanamin’s feeling nostalgic.”

“Do not call me that, Gojou-san.”

“But Yuuji can?”

“Do not put words in my mouth either.”

“It’s a nice suit,” Yuuji says, used by now to breaking up this back-and-forth before it escalates too much. He’s with Gojou on finding it entertaining, but Nanami never seems to have any fun, and that makes Yuuji feel bad, sometimes. And tonight’s supposed to be about having fun. “I like your tie.”

Nanami looks down at his tie. It’s plain, for a change, and the color is a dark, understated grey. Despite Nanami denying being in a costume, Yuuji’s sure he did dress up as a salaryman. No way would Nanami wear such a tame tie otherwise. Plus, he’s switched out his usual near-opaque glasses for a black-rimmed pair that makes him look quite distinguished.

“…Thank you, Itadori-kun,” Nanami says almost grudgingly, looking back up at Yuuji’s face. Then his gaze shifts, fixing blankly on some point above Yuuji’s head.

He’s about to ask what Nanami thinks of his costume when Gojou says, “And what are you, my cute little students?”

“Isn’t it obvious?” Kugisaki takes a step forward, cocking one hip and placing her hand on it. She gestures at Yuuji and Fushiguro with the other. Yuuji takes up position on her right. Fushiguro needs a little nudge but does shuffle forward to match him on her left. “We’re Sailor Senshi.”

Gojou laughs. His eyes are glittering. They’re bare, no blindfold or sunglasses in sight, and Yuuji’s used to his hair falling into his eyes when his whole face is exposed like this, but with Gojou’s hair slicked back, there’s no protection at all from the starbright shine of all those impossible blues.

Yuuji swallows, his throat suddenly dry.

“—without the wigs, but let’s see if I can get this right,” Gojou’s saying. He stretches out an arm, pointing at Kugisaki. “Sailor Moon.” The arm slides to Fushiguro. “Jupiter.” Then to Yuuji. “Mars.”

“That’s right!” Yuuji cheers, striking a pose—he has to fight back a wince when the seams at his right shoulder make a very soft noise. Ignoring it, he asks, “Do you like it, Gojou-sensei?”

Gojou’s grin has frozen on his face. He seems to have stopped breathing again.

“Oh my god,” Kugisaki hisses.

“Itadori-kun,” Nanami says tightly, “please pull your skirt down.”

“Oops.” Yuuji tugs the skirt back down. It doesn’t help much. He reaches under and shoves his bits back into his panties. Someone makes a soft, strangled noise. “Sorry, it’s this skirt, it’s so—”

“Perfect,” Gojou says, and his voice is so breathy that Yuuji stops what he’s doing, his head snapping up to Gojou. “It’s perfect.”

Nanami turns his head toward Gojou very slowly, an incredulous glare plastered on his face.

“Pervert,” Kugisaki deadpans.

“Huh?” Yuuji looks at her. “Who?”

Her eyes narrow. “Both of you.”

Yuuji blinks. “But Fushiguro hasn’t done anything. You’re the one who gave him tits.”

Her hand flies to her pouch of nails. “You little—”

Wheezing laughter answers that, the cadence of it very familiar. Sure enough, when Yuuji turns to look at Gojou, he’s doubled over, laughing quietly and apparently uncontrollably.

Nanami stares down at him for a moment and then turns on his heels, walking away without a word.

Aino Minako's Discography

So I was chatting with a friend who I dragged into watching PGSM about how Minako's portrayed in PGSM and all the hints we get in subtler ways about her change in character throughout the timeline and story... and then this led to us chatting about Minako's music. So now here's my brain dump. lol

There could be more singles before that, but if there are we don't know what they are. We do know there are other new songs Minako produced in-universe, including Happy Time, Happy Life from the Special Act, but we do not have a copy of the CD past Act 47.

For each of the albums, we find the name of the songs are very telling, and often very connected to the wider PGSM and Minako's storyline.

Act Zero states that IMITATION is Minako's 1st album.

うれしくて… [Ureshikute…] (I'm So Happy... / Be Happy...) There's a double meaning that without knowing more detail it'd be hard to determine the best way to translate the song title.

ナイショ! [Naisho!] (SECRET!)

ハートはORANGE [Haato wa ORANGE] (Heart is ORANGE)

白い出会い [Shiroi Deai] (White Rendezvous) As both Endymion and Serenity have white outfits in PGSM, I imagine this is alluding to past life.

MAKE UP! POWER!!

Songs 1, 7, 8 and 9 have very clear past life or Sailor Venus lore connection. While 3 and 5 seem to allude more towards Minako's story of battling her illness. Songs 2, 4 and 6 have more of a vague name that could allude to the duality of Minako's position as a teenager and idol, her secret about her illness, or her memory of Sailor Venus.

Regardless, the song titles suggest that even before meeting Artemis, Minako seems to have dreams or impressions of her past life. Possibly between these impressions/memories and her illness, Minako copes and processes her thoughts and emotions by making music. This has become my headcanon and how I write Minako in my fanfiction.

戦う女神⋅おんな [Tatakau Megami ⋅ Onna] (Goddess of Battles ⋅ Woman) This could have been translated to Goddess of War as well. Googling the 4 first characters yields results that include Japanese articles on Athena. In-universe, since Ami has been referenced in AQUA, this title could be alluding to Sailor Mars, but it's more likely to be alluding to the collective Sailor Senshi team.

The song name of VENUS is a bit more mixed bag of meanings, including song 8 alluding to Ami. But the allusion to the past life and Minako's identity as Sailor Venus is significantly more prominent. There doesn't seem to be any mention or allusion to Minako's illness.

This makes sense, since in Act 2 we viewers wouldn't have a clue about that part of Minako's storyline yet. In-universe, this suggests Minako embracing more and more her past life duties and being on the path of deprioritizing her personal situation and health condition.

I'll Be Fine is Minako's 3rd album, released sometime after Act 47.

Reminder in Act 47, Artemis and the Senshi were given a pre-release of the album, as Minako wanted to surprise Artemis and Usagi with gifts.

This album has nearly all the insert songs we hear between Act 1 - Final Act that Minako sang. The only exception is I'm Here.

Songs 1, 3, 4 and 5 have names that allude to the idea of love, which is Sailor Venus's power. Songs 2 and 6 specifically have names that match the theme of the song lyrics, revealing Minako's candid personal thoughts and feelings surrounding her illness.

The fact that Minako passed away in Act 47 before the album was officially released to the public... my friend @greenyoshi72 said Minako wrote her own requiem... 😭

Wuxing and Its Influence Over Sailor Moon

NOTE: if I get anything about wuxing wrong, please correct me! I did research for this post but I'm sure I greatly simplified things.

I don't recall seeing a post about this on Tumblr, so I figured I'd be the change I want to see!

Anyway, something I don't see discussed often in the Sailor Moon fandom is the fact that much of the Inner Senshi's powers and personalities are based on wuxing, or the Chinese system of Five Phases. Well, okay, technically wuxing influenced the Japanese naming system of the 5 planets known since antiquity (Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn), as wuxing was originally used to refer those planets in ancient Chinese scholarship before it took on a broader meaning. But I still think Naoko Takeuchi was influenced by wuxing and not just the Japanese names of the planets themselves!

Anyway, you can kind of think of wuxing as similar to the Western idea of the classical elements, but it's far broader in scope. In traditional Chinese fields, it's used to explain a wide range of phenomenon, such as cosmic cycles and the succession of political regimes.

However, this post will only be exploring how wuxing is used to classify the planets and how that influenced Naoko Takeuchi when she created Sailor Moon. The elements and their planetary matches are:

Water: Mercury

Metal: Venus

Fire: Mars

Wood: Jupiter

Earth: Saturn

There are also certain mental/emotional qualities assigned to these elements:

Water: Wisdom, wit, intelligence, flexibility, resourcefulness, softness, anxiety

Metal: Determination, strength, ambition, self-reliance, strength of mind, rigid, leadership

Fire: Passion, intensity, resolve, spontaneity, dynamism, restlessness, hate

Wood: Warmth, generosity, idealism, cooperation, courage, kindness, anger

Earth: Patience, thoughtfulness, nurturing, honesty, stability, agreeableness

So yeah, I think there are some clear parallels here.

Sailor Mercury: Ami Mizuno means "Asian Beauty of Water" and Sailor Mercury has powers over water in all its states of matter (fog, water, and ice). I've sometimes seen people be confused over why Sailor Mercury has water powers when the planet Mercury is so hot and devoid of any semblance of water; well, it's because of wuxing! Anyway, Ami herself is also known for her intelligence and wisdom as well as for her soft heart.

Sailor Mars: Rei Hino means "Spirit of Fire" and Sailor Mars commands control over flames. Sailor Mars is known as the "Senshi of Flames and Passion," and lives up to that name by being one of the most passionate and intense Senshi in the series.

Sailor Jupiter: Makoto Kino means "Sincerity of Wood" and while Sailor Jupiter is commonly associated with electricity, her powers really encompass nature as a whole. In the manga/reboot anime, she has a number of attacks that involve plants. Mako is loved by her friends for being incredibly warm and generous, and Sailor Jupiter is known as the "Senshi of Courage."

Sailor Venus: Minako Aino's name ("Beautiful Child of Love") and her powers overall take much more inspiration from the Roman goddess of love and beauty, Venus, than from wuxing. However, she does still incorporate metal into her attacks, especially in the manga and reboot anime. In the manga/reboot this is done via her trusty chain, which is utilized for most of her attacks. Regarding personality, Minako is very self-reliant, ambitious, and determined, and of course is the leader of the Inner Senshi.

Sailor Saturn: There's not much to say here, because I don't think Naoko Takeuchi was inspired much by wuxing for Hotaru. However, "Earth" is reflected in Hotaru Tomoe's name- "Firefly Sprouting From Earth"- likely because the planet Saturn follows the wuxing naming convention in Japanese (it's called “Dosei," or "Earth Star"). That being said, Hotaru is very patient, thoughtful, and honest (I would not list "stability" as one of her qualities though, considering the whole "possessed by an evil alien and then reborn as a rapidly aging baby" thing lmao).

After Sera Myu he performed in the Prince of Tennis Musical and appear in famous Musicals. Yuu played "der Tod" in Elisabeth, in Phantom of the Opera as the Phantom, Romeo et Juliette as Romeo. In 2025 he will play Count Krolock in Dance of the Vampires.

Gyo Miyamoto (2005) appears in only Musical and was the last Tuxedo Mask from Bandai Myu and from Marinamoon. He was the last actor from Tuxedo Mask.

Riona returns in her role as Tuxedo Mask in The Super Live, appearing in every version of The Super Live except London where the role is taken over by Sufa.

My Usagi x Mamoru Fanfic Recommendations

This post came from @maythevoidnotscreamback who asked me to take the time to mention some of the Usagi/Mamoru centered fanfics I have enjoyed over the years and give my recommendations.

First I’d like to give an honorable mention:  I have recently finished the entire Lunar Chronicles series by the fantastic Marissa Meyer and find her style to be captivating. For those unaware, she got her start as a fanfic author under the name Alicia Blade. I plan on dedicating my time in 2025 to getting through her stories. 

Next up: I want to make another mention for unfinished fics. I feel bad getting people addicted to stories which don't have an ending but I can’t help but want to mention them because they are so good. 

For the good of a Kingdom by Silent_Figure: I have skimmed this one for the most part but it has a lot of potential. It features a rift between Endymion and Serenity and it seems like the author is trying to get them back together. Until I see it though I’m hesitant. 

After All This Time by SunRedDreamer: The newest story on this list and I am hoping the author will be able to finish it. Mamoru awakens after Galaxia took his star seed only to find Crystal Tokyo has come and Usagi has become Queen by herself. It’s highly addictive and I can’t get enough of it. 

Sailor Moon X by Starling_Sinclair: One of the best re-writings of the original season. Usagi is an adult when Luna awakens her to being Sailor Moon.

Mine by PeachBunnyBaby: My first exposure to the Alpha/Omega/Beta style of writing and the pining between Mamoru and Usagi is palpable.  

At World’s End by Shnuggletea: After being defeated by a monster, Usagi wakes up to find the Dark Kingdom has taken over the world. From there she had to reunite with all her friends and connect with Mamoru at the same time. 

Now for the main list. I’m going to try and limit these to one story per author. There are a lot of  

Interlude by Sexylyon: The oldest story on the list and shows just how long I’ve been in this fandom. In a period where everything was tentacle stories and poorly written sex scenes, this small novella tugs at the heartstrings. 

Desperate and Divine by Antigone: Mamoru and Usagi’s time apart goes much longer than predicted. Unfortunately, Usagi feels like she’s wronged Mamoru in a way that is unforgivable. It’s an element  of their relationship I enjoyed someone tackling. 

It’s always been you by Beej88: Ever have a fic come to you at exactly the right time? I was just thinking about a story where Usagi’s family adopts Mamoru after his parent’s car accident. From there, its childhood friends grappling with the feelings of love they have for one another. 

R is for Reverse by Daikon1: Mamoru has to be the one to fight monsters during the Makai Tree saga. A look at the lengths Mamoru is willing to go through to make Usagi happy. 

To have and to hold by Lin_Lamont: Usagi and Mamoru are getting married. Not a lot of drama but a lot of great smut and loving between the pair.  

Poisoned Mind by Shnuggletea: A dark Endymion story where his need for Usagi remains despite the brainwashing. It features a lot of great action and even more intimate moments. 

How to love a princess by WildRIverInTheSky: Another Season 1 retelling but allows the Senshi to reconnect with their Shitennou lovers. At the same time Mamoru and Usagi are deeply in love. 

Shattered Pieces by Max333: Mamoru and Usagi are divorced but circumstances are bringing them back together. Not Rei friendly but the longing Usagi and Mamoru have for each other is palpable. 

The heatwave by Rei0ki: A great non-power story. A kiss leads to something more and the sexual tension between Usagi and Mamoru is high. I checked the websites regularly for updates. It was that kind of a story. 

Infidelity by Spinneroftales: This one has a special place in my heart. It’s a look at Neo-Queen Serenity and King Endymion’s married life. It (along with my own headcanon of those two enjoying a healthy sex life for their 1000 years of marriage) helped to inspire me to write my royal affairs series. It’s a great story and I highly recommend it.

First, I just have to say that this is one of my favorite Sailor Moon episodes — maybe I’ll make a ranked list someday, but it’s somewhere in the top 10% for sure.

Today’s lesson is about taking breaks — from people! Luna seems to have arranged a meeting with Usagi, Ami, and Rei to discuss their shared objectives as Sailor Senshi. Unfortunately, nobody is listening — not even Ami.

They’re either reading books or fighting over books and not paying attention to a single word that Luna has to say. Obviously, Luna gets upset and expresses her disappointment in the three of them, although Ami is the only one who shows any remorse.

To make up for it (probably), Ami pulls out a newspaper and suggests that they check out the newly-opened Dreamland amusement park, saying that out of every person who visited the park within the last week, fifty of them have disappeared.

Thus, off to Dreamland they go, all of them there to investigate whether or not their enemies are involved in these disappearances.

Well. All of them except for Usagi.

She’s just there to have a good time!

But all good times must come to an end. As soon as Usagi gets off the ride, she gets scolded by a very, very angry Luna, who berates her for goofing off on the merry-go-round, when the only reason that they’re even there in the first place is to find out what’s causing all these people to go missing.

Eventually, Luna gets so fed up with Usagi that she splits the group into two — Luna will go with Ami, and Usagi and Rei will stay together.

So they can cover more ground? Perhaps.

So Luna can get a break from Usagi? Definitely.

There they go. I love how Luna doesn’t even bother to look back.

The lesson in this is that if one of your loved ones is frustrating you or stressing you out, you’re allowed to take a break from them. Needing a take a break doesn’t mean you don’t care about them anymore — it means that you also care about yourself and your mental wellbeing, and you just need a fucking break.

At this time, am I able to a break from my loved one who is causing me stress or frustration, and if so, what can I do or where can I go to take a break?
