The plan was to stop in Puerto Morelos to wait out a storm. When the marina staff untied my lines because of some COVID restriction, I yelled and protested, but the wheel of bureaucracy won't be broken today. Hasty & disdained, I had to continue sailing ahead of a category 4 Hurricane affecting the Southwest of Guatemala & Belize, but we still got it wrong with 30nm knots winds & tons of rain.

Kingdom Hearts 3 - The Caribbean
#kingdom hearts 3#kh3#the caribbean#scenery#my gif#my favorite world in the game#it's so beautifully crafted and fun to explore#they did such a good job with port royal i'm no expert on the movies but i'm sure it's a super faithful recreation#there are so many lush islands to find with caves full of treasure. it's like a real pirate adventure#i'm glad that we're able to dive into the water because i really like underwater scenery and being able to freely swim around#i love sora's pirate outfit and that he gets a ship of his own to sail. he has such a blast in this world#the banter between sora donald goofy and jack while on the ship is a lot of fun too#big fan of how they integrated the organization's search for the black box with the chest that contains davy jones's heart#gotta love when the main story ties into the plot of a disney movie#the final cutscenes in this world are insane and so well rendered that they're almost indistinguishable from the movie#i sent screenshots to friends asking if they could tell the difference and they couldn't#not that i'm complaining because it really elevated the experience but why did they go so hard

Big fan of characters who are somewhat aware that they are side characters and they struggle with that
#that quiz made me think of idelle black sails#which made me think of wakaba rgu my best friend wakaba rgu#like idelle wins at the end right#and her 'you killed my friend' monologue is so good because it makes u think of her and that girl as actual people#and not just extras that the main cast can kill without affecting anyone#idelle knows shes no max no anne no eleanor but that doesnt make her any less of a person#and then theres wakaba who seems so detached from the weirdness of the duels and is 'just' normal#but then it gets turned around and u see how wakaba feels about the whole situation#ugh wakaba duel my beloved#and in the finale u see that wakaba has taken on the role of utena somewhat#which is crazy? like what does that mean#the world akio constructed is falling apart and the cast is starting to move forward and outside of the neverending cycle#and wakaba now goes from the normie friend to taking on utenas role as an active player?#is she simply redoing utenas story or something else

#tag talk#got convinced to try a mmorpg with some friends and they got talking about how much money they've spent on games#one guy said 3k on skins and I legit felt so internally distressed I quit playing and went for a walk to the park#more and more I'm realizing I'm not built to play games all day with people online.#and the idea of spending 3k on some shitty game is insane to me. for skins???#anyway I uninstalled it and had a nice time at the park watching people practice para-sailing technique#asks I took sort of a nap on a park bench and it was lovely#the attached picture is the view from where I was lying down#I paused my music and just listened to the noise around me it was so nice and calming#but anyway. the game was shitty and poorly designed and the thought of playing hours of that just hard reset me#idk. online is cool and all but I crave the real world. I walked down and bought pocki and enjoyed the sun. that's truth and love#I don't make online friends well. no friends here on tumblr. Just people I nod to as I pass by.#some favorite artist but no one I would genuinely miss if they deleted their account.#some favorite followers I like to catch up on every once in a while. you know who you are.#but no real friends. no one I talk to. I just don't have that urge.#I much prefer my few irl friends. it's much more satisfying to hang with them instead of online people.#anyway. go touch grass. don't live too online.

Me downloading countless sims mods ESPECIALLY waterfall mods so that my castaways island build on the island in windenburg is accurate
#technically because of the weather effects it will never be accurate :/#and also it’s supposed to be a TROPICAL island#but there’s never really any sims walking around on the windenburg island + it looks fairly uninhabited#+I might need to attempt use of the tool mod#there’s parties that happen at the bluffs so I probably won’t go there#also the graffiti is so unnecessary#but like I can build external places for them to visit#like now they’d have to leave the home lot to collect harvestables#I love serinions bamboo mod for castaway gameplay#I think I spelled their user right#so I’ll probably build a bamboo fortest to kinda#make it harder to just#spam harvest bamboo#I’ll add a cave and like a beach area for shits and giggles#and I’m debating a shipwreck lot#but basically I’m having too much fun with the sims#neon speeks#neon plays the sims#tonight we’ll sail to the edge of the world

thinking about how troy is the truest repairman who can repair man in a group full of broken people who need fixing
#troy is truly the heart of the study group#the glue#thats why the darkest timeline generates from him leaving#troy is there to keep the group together#keep it human#hes so fundamental that when he leaves to sail the world the whole atmosphere of the show changes#the colors are much cooler and the tone is darker#something of extreme importance is missing and it weights#this is also one of the reasons why i think the movie needs to be centered around troy but thats another story for another day#sorry for rambling#i just really love troy <3#troy barnes#the study group#i talk

re: trying to explore the infinite pool of stories and the untangleable web of their influences on each other.... i used to have a version of the odyssey it was one of those barnes & noble fun special cover versions and it felt really nice and was shades of blue but i have no idea where it went and i never finished it :( but i really want to because it IS one of the stories of all time. and you know as I say this also realizing I need to get into 1,001 arabian nights as well.....
#i should return the play i havent read to the library and get the odyssey instead#i love the layers of black sails & all the parallels to the odyssey everybody loves to point out#and then remembered that there are other stories around the world of somebody teing a story within a story to delay the inevitable#also when i fucking find the vikram & betaal comic book that i KNOW is in my house or my parents house somewhere .....
