The 'killed' contestants are revived without their memories. Nickel doesn't hate Balloon anymore, but he also doesn't know him. Balloon used to dream about how much easier his life would be if he just hadn't made those mistakes in season 1...

But then season 3 led him to create a friendship way more real then almost anyone else.

Hate is such a blinding thing- but if someone who hated you is able to learn to love you... Well is there anything more real then that? Anything more honest? And Nickel had the same experience with Balloon. Nothing else could get close to what they had.

So yes, now they don't argue. But it's different. He hates it, and he can't do anything about it.
