#ramblings#like he saw king arthur sitting on his horse menacingly with a bunch of underworld monsters and was ready to throw hands#all bc merlina was asking for his help#no context needed. she didn't even tell him to slay him he was just like 'oh i get it!' took care of the monsters and tried to go after him#the only reason arthur wasn't a dead man then was bc merlina stopped sonic before he could even try#it's only after their first encounter that she explained to sonic that he needed to slay him#and he's like ok with it no questions asked. like bro she's asking you to kill a man#yeah she did tell him he was corrupt and had gone mad with power and immortality but he didn't question it at all#he probably thought 'eh he's a monarch that checks out' lmao#yeah yeah the king arthur here was a fake created by merlin or something but he didn't know that#he only learned abt that after he'd 'slain' him#my biggest takeaway from this game is that sonic HATES monarchies and is willing to kill kings at the drop of a hat#and i love that for him#he's right btw
