okayy mini infodump.
but basically itā€™s an au where Sun and Moon are retired supernatural hunters n suchā€¦ they parted ways, half due to safety, the other half was just a plain falling out. Sun is working in an office, something to do with music industry production (???), and Moon forged a fake certificate to be a therapist. (heā€™s really bad at his job, idk how ppl donā€™t know heā€™s fake ???) they get back together for mayhem later on thoā€¦.
uhm uhmā€¦ I might definitely write an x reader for this. it depends. iā€™ll at least post them and y/n doodles later.

TAKING MY TIME
pairing: pham hanni x fem! reader
trope: strangers to lovers! fluff! slowburn!
the orientation hall is filled of students around your age, crowded and filled with chatters among students and classmates. you sat alone in the corner as you wait for the orientation to end, it's smart really, how you genuinely thought walking away from your classmates and picking a seat away from them was a good idea. good thing you brought a notebook and had the motivation to listen and list down notes of what was needed before the assigned work for students was announced.
the next thing after the announcement is the list of students at every department in the city hall, it could be anywhere, it was random and you could be grouped with people who you didn't know.
that wasn't the worst part, you were capable, it didn't matter what the people around you couldn't and could do; it only mattered to you that you are able to do a lot. the thing is this is a requirement to complete the school year, working on a department as a trainee to gain experience, spending hours to complete the given time and getting nothing in return but a certificate...
so you had no choice, it would have been nice to work on a tech company but you didn't want to spend 8 days in front of your computer and then 2 days of staring at the thin air and having to pay a lot of money just for the experience.
the easiest way was the hard way.
there are different departments around the city, it could be the department for the agriculture, department of the fire and safety management and more, but the worst of them all had to be the council for the children and the traffic department.
well, working on an office and taking care of kids isn't as bad as walking on mountains and rice fields or standing in the middle of the road while it's blazing hot.
you just weren't fond of kids.
being assigned for the council for the welfare of children leads you straight to a local kindergarten around the city and that means you'll have to teach and take care of kids.
you have nieces, yes; but you never took initiative to take care of them. you've been a sole hater of kids, at least that's what you claim to be. you didn't know how to work your way in it if you ever got assigned in that department.
on the other side of the orientation hall, is a girl who hopes to be assigned at the council for the welfare of children.
pham hanni.
she's excited, she looked forward for this new experience. yes, it's tough, it's going to be very hard but wouldn't it be worth it? she thinks so.
as the orientation continues, hanni made sure to list everything that was needed, no time to wait and just sit there, she needs to be assigned at the kindergarten department.
"is everything crystal clear students?" the principal asks, looking at the students ahead of him as he stands in front. in unison, the students answer: "yes, sir."
the screen in front of the hall shows lists of departments, the principal prepares to announce the group of students working together.
you expect that there would be 10 of you but no, as the third department was announced, you instantly freeze on your seat.
"council for the welfare of children, pham hanni and jeon y/n." the principal requires students to stand up when their names are mentioned, you immediately scramble to stand up, hearing snickers behind and just on the other side is another girl.
"okay who's pham hanni? raise your hand." the principal says, the short girl raises her hand with a huge smile on her face. you turn your head to look at her, you couldn't make out her face as she had her back facing you.
"how about jeon y/n." you raise your hand reluctantly, the principal nods and hanni turns to look at you, before you immediately sit down.
"so those are the people you'll work with, pham and jeon will be immediately deployed in the city's kindergarten to teach and help kids. remember to print out forms and checklists and place them in a brown envelope."
it wasn't supposed to be this bad, you stand in front of the school's office as the adviser allowed you to use the photocopy machine for the forms you'll need.
you didn't notice hanni behind you, approaching. "uhm hey." she says, you look behind and see her, holding two daily time records in her hands.
"uh, hi... can i do something for you..?" you ask her, she smiles and awkwardly looks around the office as she hands you a daily time record. "i had an extra one of this so, i was planning to give it to you." she says, you slowly take it from her and place it on the table, not really putting out that much of an expression as you nod.
"thanks..." you only say before busying yourself with the machine again. hanni sighs and laughs sheepishly, embarrassed by your lack of enthusiasm for her presence. "you're printing our forms already?" she asks, you nod and continue to face the printing machine.
"yes, ms. kim allowed me." hanni blinks her eyes and remembers that you two are required to get your parental consent signed by a law firm office for a notary and she decides if she can ask you to come with her,
"uh, you want to come with me? get the notary for our parental consent..." in all honesty, hanni was taking this whole work immersion requirement seriously, like she's actually getting a job. she wants to get to know you and get comfortable with each other even if the real work is just 5 days.
after that, you don't have to talk to her again.
yet you try to entertain her so she won't get her feelings hurt. "okay." you say as you face her and put the papers in the brown envelope with her and your name on it.
you both stand outside the law firm office, waiting for your papers to be signed by the lawyer. hanni peeks at your every now and then and regrets it when she sees you looking back at her.
but she can't help herself but just look at you, cautious whether you're bothered by her.
"hey, you're parental consent is ready." you tell her as she shoots up and looks at you. "w-what?" she asks, you stare at her, emotionless. "your paper is ready." you tell her, hanni immediately takes her pouch and grabs her money as she enters the office to pay for the notary service.
you follow next and take yours before making your way before her back to school to pass the paper to the adviser.
"aren't you excited?" hanni asks as she walks behind you, you look just a bit behind and back to the front. "not really." you answer her, hanni nods and figures you're probably not a big fan of school requirements.
you feel bad at your lack of enthusiasm, but it's just how you are. "how about you?" you ask, hanni's face lightens as she hears you ask about her. "yes! i really want to work at a daycare or kindergarten as a teacher, don't you think kids are great?" hanni says, you shrug at her question.
"not fond of them. but you do you, they'll probably like you a lot." you tell her as you stop walking to let hanni catch up. hanni looks at you as she smiles and nods her head. "i hope so." she says as she walks beside you.
first day.
the first day is as bad as you knew it is gonna be, you wake up early in the morning and forget to make lunch, you make your way to a local convenience store to buy a half-ass double cheese pepperoni sandwich and run to catch up to the bus on the daycare department.
entering the office, you look like you didn't get enough sleep. hanni watches as you walk inside and place your bag on the floor and immediately eat your sandwich with your brows furrowed and eyes still closed.
"y/n? are you okay?" she asks, you take deep breath and look up at her and sigh. "yeah, i'm okay." you tell her and even before she says something, she gets cut off by the supervisor who asks her to come see the kids.
meanwhile you're left in the office with a stack of paper to arrange and nametag designs to work at.
hanni's assigned job is simple, just entertain the kids... the supervisor and teachers obviously prefer her over you and they like the job she's doing. and here you are, dumped with papers to work at, with two hours of sleep catching up to school and no lunch packed.
hanni enters the office again as the kids are back to listening to their teacher, she sees your slumped figure, printing and designing nametags.
"it's lunch already, have you brought yours?" you sigh as you hear her voice and look at her. "no, i didn't pack anything. i'll buy after this." hanni grimaces when she sees the pile of paper in the desk and the time, you're not gonna make it on time with all the stack of paper they gave you.
"but lunch is about to finish, are you sure you can make it on time?" she asks. "yeah, i can if you give me some space." you tell her without even sparing her a glance, hanni looks away and sits at her assigned desk, watching you work.
hanni sees the door open and it's the supervisor. "oh pham! the kids are about to go home, what about saying goodbye to them?" they say as they look at hanni who smiles at them. "yeah i will! just waiting for the teacher to signal me." she says.
the supervisor looks at you and takes a peek at your work. "seems like you're not finished yet." they say and you try your best not to click your tongue in annoyance. "what do you say pham? we can eat lunch at the cafeteria." the supervisor offers but hanni shakes her head and looks at you. "i'm okay here." the supervisor nods and leaves the office.
it's clear you aren't in your best mood, about to finish as hanni waits.
"you can leave you know?" you tell her as you continue to arrange files. hanni shakes her head. "but, i want to eat lunch with you." you chuckle, not looking at her direction. "i can't i'm eating outside." you say, hanni watches as you finish and brush yourself and leaving the office.
hanni sighs as she looks at your now empty desk, and puts the lunch she made in your desk before going to the cafeteria to eat lunch with the supervisor. she knew it's a bit late now and you're probably not going to be allowed to eat outside so she leaves her lunch to your desk incase you come back.
turns out, hanni was right. you stand in the empty office, starving and your pride's about to wear down, now you feel guilty for pushing hanni away and you can't help but rub your temple before sitting down and sighing.
"why am i such an asshole..?" you mutter to yourself before eating the food and thanking hanni in the back of your mind.
after your shift with hanni was done, hanni checks up on you to see if the lunchbox is in your desk, it wasn't there and hanni has no idea where it went, she's starting to think someone else took it from your desk.
the day ends with hanni the backseat of their car, looking out to the window wondering where you are.
second day
hanni doesn't sense any difference on you as you sat on your desk and did your usual work, the kids' class hasn't started yet and hanni cannot find the courage to walk up to you and ask about your day, you seem occupied in your own little world.
hanni sighs as she leaves the office and proceeds to do the work assigned to her, leaving you alone in the office.
after a while, it's lunch again, your were able to finish half of your work in time and when hanni is about to leave and eat lunch in the cafeteria, you make your way to her desk with the lunchbox from yesterday, placing it on her desk.
"is that..?" hanni trails as she looks up at you from the chair she was sitting on, you take a deep breath as you nod. "yeah, it's your lunchbox." you mutter as you watch hanni take the lunchbox and notice that it has a significant weight on it, hanni watches as you make your way out of the office but before you open the door, she calls out to you.
"y/n! where are you going?" hanni asks, looking at the lunchbox in her hands. you look at hanni and raise your eyebrows. "canteen, i'll eat lunch." hanni walks up to you and smiles. "let's eat lunch together."
you can't understand why you feel this way, you sat across hanni on the table and stare at your lunch while hanni is eating hers, you've eaten a good amount of it and as you sat, you can't help letting your mind wander of until hanni notices.
"what's up y/n?" she asks, you look at her and blink your eyes before shaking your head. "nothing..." you mutter.
luckily, your assigned work was finished sooner than you expected and you got the chance to watch hanni help the teacher inside the classroom, being able to see hanni's mature and loving personality, you can't help but notice how well the kids get along with her, you can sense that they'd get attached to her really quick.
after hanni was finished, you agree to accompany her to the bus stop, wherein she'll be picked up by her dad and you'll take the bus.
"so... you made the lunch?" she asks, you stare at the road, seeing the vehicles pass by and you nod. "yes." you woke up early to cook the lunch, which you usually never do, it's a weird routine and you can't get yourself used to it.
hanni smiles as she shrugs. "it's good, i didn't know you could cook." she laugh and it brought you to smile as well. "rarely." you comment and hanni nods.
it was awkward until you see her father pulling up and hanni bids goodbye before getting inside the car.
third day
as hanni waits for your arrival, she can't help but think that you only have two days left with her, the day hasn't even started and she's already sad thinking she probably won't see you often after those five days.
it's an ordinary day, aside from the humid air, hanni can't help but notice your awfully cheerful behavior.
"uhm, good morning y/n!" hanni greets you and sees the smile in your face when you look at her, hanni feels her cheeks warm up and she tries her best to maintain eye contact as you nod your head. "hey, good morning." you tell her as you take a seat, hanni notices that you're bringing a lunchbox, you're own lunchbox.
hanni can't help but smile as the day went on.
it's the usual, there's nothing new as you sat on your desk and did office work while hanni is taking care of the kids and helping the teacher, she's made a name for herself amongst department employees. they all like her.
and you're just there. it's not like it matters to you, you're all cool doing your own thing in your own word. today is a good day, after a long time of waiting, you got your results for your college entrance the same time you arrived home yesterday.
hanni is so ready to ask about why you're so happy.
lunch came, you and hanni decide to go to the same place at the canteen where you are now bringing your own food you cooked yourself. hanni doesn't know how to not look at you, every second, she finds herself stealing glances or just staring.
you don't even notice until hanni speaks.
"uhm, hey you look so happy today... mind if i ask you why?" she says, you raise your brows at her and nod. "yeah." you shrug, it's weird. usually when someone asks you why you're like this, like that, you get annoyed but... with hanni it's different.
"you look so happy today, i mean it's not like you aren't everyday but you look extra bright." hanni laughs under her breath and looks at you, you continue to eat your food as you nod. "uh yeah, i passed my entrance exam and i'm getting my priority program." you tell her, hanni blinks her eyes and is in shock.
well you're smart but she didn't think you'd be able secure a slot before everyone does.
"where?" she asks.
"seoul national university." hanni opens her lips, she's surprised, amazed.
"you're smart, smart." she laughs. you shrug and smile, and hanni feels something funny inside her stomach. "thanks."
as hanni sits in the backseat of their car, she can't help but picture your smile, it's just... so nice to see. hanni sighs and puts her hands on her face before sighing deeply, causing her parents to check if she's fine.
fourth day
after three days, you manage to finish all the papers and work assigned to you, and you were left with nothing anymore. hanni watches as you sit on your desk, tweaking on your laptop and you look bored.
hanni still has to take care of kids and she wonders what you'll be doing in the next day, last day.
she sighs and walks out of the office and she's surprised to see no teacher in the desk, she looks around and walks back to the office to ask the supervisor. "uhm, where's ms. kim?" hanni asks with a smile, the supervisor looks around and sighs.
"oh i forgot to tell you, she's absent for today and tomorrow. sick leave." hanni nods and slowly turns away to look at you as you stare at the window of the office. hanni blinks her eyes and looks at the supervisor again.
"should me and y/n teach together?" she asks, the supervisor looks up from their phone and shrugs. "do as you please."
"ah! no... hanni, i can't teach." you mutter as hanni pulls you out of the office to the classroom and looks at you with a smile. "come on! it's okay, the kids need someone to teach them and it's going to be okay..." hanni looks at you with a smile, relaxing her shoulders.
both of you stand in front of the classroom and you look at the door before shifting your eyes to hanni and sighing. "alright." hanni cheers and hugs you, wrapping her arms around you as she rests her chin on your shoulder.
"uh..." you mutter as you tap her lower back, hanni lets go and laughs sheepishly. "sorry, i'm just so glad..." you nod and open the door for her.
hanni passes a lesson plan to you as she gives you a reassuring smile, making her way in front of the class and telling them to lower down their voice. "everyone! hey, ms. kim is not present today so... for the mean time me and my friend will teach you all today." hanni looks at you as she smiles brightly, you feel tense as every kid looks at you.
"uhm, good morning everyone." you awkwardly wave your hand at them, hanni walks over to you and takes your hand to the front and introduces you. "everyone, this is jeon y/n. she's my super smart friend and she's teaching us math today."
you nod and try to put out an awkward smile, which worked, miraculously.
during the time with the kids, everything felt natural, you slowly feel the tension inside you easing away as you talk to kids. it's weird, how hanni's presence not only comforts kids but you too, a girl the same age as her. you learn not to take things so seriously, finding the right way to talk to kids, it feels different, weird...
hanni packs up her things with a huge smile on her face, she can't even wipe it off even with you staring at her, you exit with her and to the entrance of the building, a storm shows up.
it's raging and violent, the rain is loud as it pours down the cold pavement.
you bring out an umbrella and notice the dark skies, you look at hanni as she stares at the skies, it's raining and she didn't bring any umbrella. you stare at your umbrella before offering it to her. "here, you can use mine." you tell her, hanni looks at you and shakes her head.
"no y/n, i can't just take it when you're gonna be stranded here." she tells you, you can't refute what she said, it's true, you're seriously gonna be stuck here if you insist in letting her go first.
so instead, you pull the umbrella out and reach for her hand. "let's go." hanni doesn't hesitate as she takes your hand and run off to the bus stop wherein her parents were waiting inside their car. hanni lets go of your hand and smiles at you before she offers you a ride home. "let's go, my dad can drive you to your house." you laugh and shake your head.
"it's okay, i'll wait for the bus." you notice the hesitance on hanni's face as her parents wait.
"seriously, it's okay... go now." you tell her as you give her a smile and hanni hears her mother calling out for her before she hurriedly got inside the car.
as the car accelerates, hanni peeks through the window of the backseat to see if you're doing okay.
without realizing, she comes home still thinking about you.
fifth day
"ugh... now i have to make my portfolio in less than a week, i have to catch up to lectures..." hanni sighs as she slumps on her desk, the door opens and you come in, carrying your lunch that you made. hanni looks up and notices the calm expression on your face, she can't but smile.
"uhm, hey." hanni calls out to you, you turn to look at her and smile. "hi, good morning." you simply mutter before turning to work on your portfolio, hanni smiles and leans on her palms, her elbows are propped on the surface of her desk.
hanni looks towards the door of the office and to you. "hey, are you ready to teach again?" she asks, you look at her and nod. "yeah, i think i'm ready." you answer as you close your laptop and look at hanni who smiles brightly stands up.
"okay? then let's go."
"ms. jeon!" you look at the kid who called your name and crouch to his level. you raise your brows at him. "hm? is there something you need help at?" you mutter, he looks at you and grins, you don't exactly know what's on his mind as he looks at hanni.
"do you call ms. pham hanni or honey?"
you stare at the kid as his other classmate snicker, with no idea what's so funny about it, you shrug... they both sound the same so, how will you know the difference?
hanni shakes her head as she laughs and leans on the kid's seat. "hey knock it off, ms. jeon is about to go back to the office." hanni says as she smiles at the kid, feeling her cheeks redden.
you look at her and speak. "they're the same thing." you tell the kid, causing his classmates to all shout in surprise, they were screaming and cheering. hanni looks at you with wide eyes and red face. you shrug as you pick up the kids' papers and leave hanni standing and flustered.
the kids are having their recess and they seem to be enjoying, you watch as one particular kid struggles to peel his oranges and walk up to him to help him peel his oranges but as you do so, hanni takes one of the oranges and only peels half of it before she gives it to the kid for him to peel the rest.
you look at her for a brief moment and she look back at you, there's an awkward silence as you peel off another orange and she stops you midway.
"uhm..." you look at her hand around you wrist and hanni smiles at your before letting you go.
"just leave half of it to peel himself, he'll learn." hanni shrugs and smiles at you, you do as she says and place the half peeled orange on top of the kid's lunch box and watch as he peels the one hanni peeled for him until there is no orange peeling left.
hanni looks at you and sees the way your eyes look at the kid. "when you give a man a fish, he has a meal for the day. if you teach a man how to fish, he gets a meal everyday. you get it?" hanni smiles at you and you can't help but smile back as you nod.
"i do." you mutter, hanni giggles and tucks strands of hair behind her ear.
hanni looks at her phone after she finished eating her lunch, five days in and she hasn't asked you about your socials, it's like she's totally missed out a lot even when you look like the type to have a dead social media account.
hanni looks up to see you eating and begins to wonder if she can ask for your number in order to contact you.
"uhm, y/n?" she asks as she sees you finishing up. you look up to hanni and raise your eyebrows at her.
"can i ask for your number?" she gives you an awkward smile, in return, you stare at her and take her phone as you type in your phone number.
hanni looks at your contact number and smile to herself, she looks up at you as she sees you standing up. "i'll message you later, just for you know? for the portfolio..." hanni mutters as she stands up and follows you to the office.
the kids all look sad finding out this will be the last day of hanni and you working together, hanni comforts the kids by promising to come back every now and them for the kids. she crouches to their level and says her goodbye, while you stand behind hanni and waving your hands lightly.
hanni slumps her shoulder when the classroom door closes and you look at her, knowing she's sadden that she won't come here again tomorrow. you walk up to her and place a hand on her shoulder.
"they really liked you, hanni." you say, from your observation by how sad the kids were knowing that hanni won't be back as soon as possible, hanni smiles at you.
"aren't they cute? i wish i can stay longer." she says, you nod and bring your hand down. "i know you do. let's go home." you tell her as you give her a small smile and walk towards the office, hanni nods and follows.
the walk to the bus stop is silent, hanni wishes she can be here for a little longer, talk to you about more stuff more than school, but she can't even find the perfect topic.
you see hanni in a trance, staring far away and you can't help but laugh. "hey, you know it's not the end of the world now, right?" you stop in front of the bus stop, her parents aren't here yet.
hanni looks at you and laughs, embarrassed by how emotional she can get.
"sorry, it's cause... i still want to do a lot more stuff." hanni says, she sighs. you nod and look ahead. "yeah, i know. it's not over yet, maybe next time let's talk about it and visit." hanni looks at you as you speak, she blushes and laughs.
"i guess you're right."
maybe it really isn't the end of everything, rather it was just the beginning, it's too early for her to slump and be sad about things that are just the start of everything, there's so many things to look forward for.
hanni is thankful that whatever sort of destiny brought her to you, maybe she's more than thankful that she can look back again and smile at the trivial things.
as hanni gets inside their car, she can't help but look back at you, seeing the way you look at the car as she waves her hand goodbye to you. the drive home feels like a path to hanni's realization that maybe she must have been in love or fallen in love, that has to be it.
she doesn't know where or when but she knows, surely, she knows to whom these feelings are for.

hey,
im a trans woman. ive already gotten a name and gender change court order in my state. i never got my passport updated, though, and im feeling urgency to do that now
but between not-yet-passed state laws that will revert birth certificates, everything going on federally, and thoughts you've posted about giving information to the government
something I've been considering is legally (not socially) detransitioning my gender marker (not my name), so I can have a passport that's valid even if the TSA gets to the point where they see an altered marker and it means no travel
there's a voice that doesn't want to do this, but i think it's the voice that doesn't want me to believe that there's a real threat to my personal security, and it's making it hard to to do a genuinely analytical cost-benefit analysis
do you have any thoughts, please? i know you don't have enough information or the authority to tell me what I, in particular, should do, but any perspective at all you'd like to give?
thanks
We're talking about potentially having a livestream event sometime soon in which we & viewers chat about what decisions they are making to protect their safety and plan for eventualities, so I hope you'll be able to tune in for that, but my short answer would be that it all depends a lot on the particulars of your situation.
Can you get a birth certificate changed in your state? (Even in conservative states, it may be possible! For example, I'm working on getting my birth certificate corrected in Ohio.). If so, you can change that, get your social security card's gender marker changed (which is still really easy), and then potentially get a correct passport.
Do you have a passport already? Have you ever had a passport with your agab on it? These are also important factors. Currently, the trans people who are having the greatest success getting their documents on the federal level are those who have changed their birth certificates, AND who have never gotten a passport with their agab, because it's pretty difficult for the passport office to clock that you are trans if that's all squared away.
Technically you might still be at risk of outing yourself if you have to disclose a name change order, but again, it depends on if your birth certificate is accurate to your current name. If it is, you can probablyyy get away with not disclosing your old name.
Other questions to consider are the typical use cases for when you show your ID. If you travel internationally pretty frequently, you have a completely different set of concerns and risks than someone who mainly shows their ID when they're applying to jobs or going into a bar and don't need it that much in their day-to-day otherwise. You will know your own situation best, and there are no great answers or guarantees of safety in how we navigate this stuff, but some things to consider.

My own grandfather was a freedom fighter. But that is his achievement, in his lifetime. What right do I have to benefit from that? Even my dad wasn't born at that time.
My grandfather used to work as a police officer for a Nawab in a palace (which is now used as a museum) in Dhaka before the liberation war. My grandmother was the beloved handmaid of the wife of the Nawab. the 8 siblings of my mother were born and raised in the palace.
My grandfather was courageous. But he had 8 children and a wife. So during the massacre of 25th March, he left the city. My grandmother still says how she had to step over and on dead bodies, and walk to her village from the city all the way. How the river she had to cross through a boat was filled with fresh dead bodies, how vultures were eating the flesh by the morning of 26th March. She says that was the last she ever saw a vulture in her life. Vultures are nearly extinct in our country today. She is an 87-year-old woman, who often forgets her grandchildren's names. She can still clearly describe the horrors she saw.
After coming back, my grandfather started a grocery store. But his spirit to fight remained. He used to refuse any Pakistani who came across him. No service at all. He used to sell Milk tea with cream. Which my grandmother made at home. Pakistanis apparently loved the cream, but he always refused. He used to give shelter to the young freedom fighters in his home. Wrap them up in mats and make them stand beside cupboards so it'd look like it is just a rolled-up mat. My grandmother used to feed them like her own children, even though she was younger than a lot of them. Such were their spirits, such was their love, such was their will to serve.
The Pakistanis my grandfather used to turn away, came with military officers, beat him up in front of his own shop, thought he died, and threw his "body" in the river. His "body" was brought home to my grandmother, who didn't cry. She stood firm. My grandfather laughed, that supposed dead man laughed and said, "Fooled them".
This happened again. But he pretended to drown to save himself again. Then the man proceeded to drown 3 wooden boats full of military men in the same hour. He came back and went straight to the freedom fighter camp, collected weapons, and disappeared. Came back as a victor, a proud Bangladeshi, a warrior, a free man, and paralyzed.
He received a pension from his previous police job. But never collected the Freedom Fighter certificate. He didn't see any point in dragging his paralyzed body to a few villages away just for a piece of paper that said freedom fighter. He kept the rifle though. My grandmother now threatens people with it. Badass couple.
When asked, why he did not collect it, he used to say, "Are you free? Are you alive? Are your family members being killed? Am I alive? Are we looking at the green and red flags? Then we're liberated. We are fighters. Our freedom is our certificate."
Where is that freedom now, Nanu? Why are we dying again? Why is that piece of paper more important than our safety and lives? Are you watching from the sky? The sky was painted red yesterday, did you see? Do you know it is the blood of our brothers and sisters? The grandchildren you gave so much up for?

Oh and another thing! Reader who works in admin, whose job is to handle compliance for the military and pmcs. Like you are yourself a contractor but you are super busy because you have a good reputation for safety and are excellent at wrangling arrogant soldiers to get their paperwork done and do their training courses.
The thing is though, this is all done via email and phone. You have seen photos of most of these people because you need copies of ID for their files (you wonder about the ones without photos) but they have no clue what you look like.
It feels like you spend so much of your time being passive aggressive when Captain Price won't just renew his damn first aid course or Commander Graves is trying to convince you that you don't need to properly onboard his new shadow or Keegan is a dick making sure you always go to voicemail and the message is something along the lines of "leave a message, if you're some pretty little idiot office girl at least make it worth my while".
And honestly for a lot of them, while you don't realise, you are a little slice of soft domesticity. They can pretend you are a wife or a sister nagging at them. They can flirt to try and make you give them that long suffering sigh or annoy you to try and make you snap (you never properly snap, not professional, they take it as a challenge).
Imagine the carnage when people start getting an out of office when they email or call saying that you aren't available as you are unwell. A few days sure, but after a few weeks? You are getting all sorts of visitors all of a sudden and you are so out of it and wait don't you recognise those voices? Absolutely dying of the flu and the first thing you say to the man who just broke in is "you'd better have your first aid certificate".

Sometimes the events of my life are truly so comedic that I have to assume some supernatural being(s) are watching me like their favorite evening sitcom and just dying with laughter.
Peep this Shakespearean level comedy of errors:
Go out with coworkers for a celebration because our project trip to Puerto Rico was approved.
Coworker brings up travel requirements to Puerto Rico. Only a driver's license is required, but you need the "Real I.D." symbol.
Pull out my driver's license to check, only to discover that my driver's license is expiring in FIVE DAYS. Thanks for even the slightest notification, Department of Public Safety???
Try to renew online, can't. No explanation for why is provided. Go to the DPS Office. "Oh, you used your passport to renew last time, and now your passport is expired. You can get a new passport though and then renew."
"Ma'am... do you know how long getting a passport takes?"
"I think it only takes a couple months now?" ... "And what is the expiration date of my license???"
"We can use a birth certificate instead. You can get it at the court house and come right back. We should be able to finish the renewal today."
"Ma'am... I was born in LA..." Lady tells me the next available DPS appointment isn't even until October 17th, eight days after driver's license expiration. Make the appointment.
Go to the California birth certificate website. Have to pay $60 for them to print and ship the birth certificate to me. Only after paying do they reveal there is a back-order on birth certificates and it may take up to 35 days for my birthday certificate to arrive.
Cancel the October 17th DPS appointment in abject disappointment.
Driving on an expired license because what else can I do? I can't bum rides off coworkers for 35 DAYS.
ONE DAY after my license officially expires, a college kid texting and driving veers into my lane and hits my car. (Thankfully no injuries, just a lot of cosmetic damage.)
The other driver doesn't have insurance. I DON'T HAVE A VALID LICENSE so I can't even go through MY insurance.
We agree to get estimates from body shops and for her to pay for the damage out of pocket. I get one official estimate--$1000 in dent hammering and repainting.
She texts me later that her mom "knows someone who repairs cars." Is this guy licensed? "Oh yeah definitely."
"Okay, give me the address and I'll take the car to their shop for an estimate."
"Ummm, maybe you could just bring the car to my mom's house and she can take it to the mechanic?"
"With all due respect dear, are you out of your mind?"
She finally gives me the address of the mechanic. It's one block from Mexico. It's a house. There are six dogs running loose in the front yard. There's something that might have ONCE UPON A TIME been a body shop next door to the house but now is a pile of barely standing timbers.
"Mechanic" comes out. I ask to see his license. He shows me a piece of paper that looks two steps above "I printed this direct from a Google images search."
I have a moment of despair, and then I realize: My car is 11 years old and has 100,000 miles on it.
If my car ends up chopped up for parts or sold across the border to Mexico, I can report it as stolen.
THIS IS HOW ECHO GETS A NEW CAR.
I am zen. All is well. I hope the worst case scenario comes true. I agree to bring the car to the "mechanic" on Monday.
Get back in the car, head home for the day.
Get a call from boss.
Puerto Rico project trip cancelled.
You can't make this shit up.

Hello! Hope your days going well!
Can we get the reader rescuing the submas twins who where kidnapped by Team Plasma? And can you have the reader fighting the grunts with just they're bare hands? No Pokemon just throwing hands and absolutely beating the asses of both grunts and Pokemon. āœØHisui styleāœØ hope this makes sense! Lol
Submas x Fighter Reader: Reader gets kidnapped by Team Plasma
Though the twins are expert battlers, you're a little more mundane compared to them.
You really only have a few pokemon, but they're your babies. You battle occasionally but you don't intend to be an expert in it. You have your own career that you enjoy, after having worked hard in school to earn certificates and degrees. (One of them so happens to be a perfect shiny joltik. Emmet wishes you'd train it more so he can battle them.)
Though the twins usually gravitate strong trainers when it came to sharing partners, they do like how gentle and serene you are. You have a very nurturing nature towards them and their pokemon, ensuring everyone's good health and emotional support. You provide the twins with a comfort they longed for years, they are definitely making every best effort possible to ensure this relationship lasts forever.
Since you've been with the twins for a while, you got acquainted with their employees on the battle trains as well. Everyone knows who you are, considering you are technically dating two of Unova's most sought after celebrities. The twins naturally have concerns over your safety and try to insist you take one of their reserve team members with you, for the moments you're away from them. Especially when Team Plasma shows its dirty influence again.
You reassure them that you're fine, giving them both a kiss before you board your next train.
Tumblr media
But eventually, the twins' biggest fear comes true when they hear through the radio that you're being attacked by Team Plasma.
They swiftly ignore their duties as Subway Bosses, boarding the next train that would take them to the station you were heading. Emmet is rambling about how worried he is, about making Team Plasma pay for this, and constantly asking Ingo if he thinks you're alright. Ingo can't say much, not wanting to give a self fulfilling prophecy.
When the train boards, they run. They run as fast as their legs can take them, only to stand baffled by what they saw next.
They saw you physically fighting pokemon. Your slow and gentle nature wasn't seen at all in this moment, as you relentlessly fight your way to victory.
But when the twins comes to their senses, they throw out their own pokemon to join the battle. Yelling at you to come back over to them. But instead you run up to the Team Plasma members and knock them out, one by one, in a single attack.
Ingo and Emmet catch on to what you're doing and swiftly take down their opponent's pokemon, everyone is subdued and swiftly detained. Bystanders cheer in your victories.
When the enemy is taken away by police, Emmet runs up to you and tackle hugs you. He was just so worried! He almost starts crying about how worried he was, clinging onto your body.
Ingo is next to hug you, but quickly takes you to private office space. He tends to your cuts and bruises there.
They ask you how you learned to fight like that. Prior to moving to Unova, it so turns out that you were a former pro cage fighter. Their jaws drop at this. They don't believe you at first. You literally have to show them pictures of you, of who you were five years ago prior to meeting them.
Ingo and Emmet don't know where to begin with you. First they praise you, then lecture you, and then just... they hold you close. They were so worried. They love you so much.
You stay in that moment, your caring nurturing side of you coming out to comfort them. To ease their worries, you agree to training your pokemon and taking one of their reserve members. This relieves them immensely.

Not sure if you have, but have you written anything about Simonā€™s and Missusā€™ wedding? Did they elope w/ Winnie, have a small private wedding? Or did they go down to the county office and sign the marriage certificates? Were there the classic gold wedding bands or something simpler? Or no rings needed?? Now Iā€™m imagining flower girl Winnie or hell even ring bearer Winnie with Soap and Gaz flower boys šŸ˜
Keep it up with the happiness series!! ā¤ļø
EEEE WEDDING! ELOPEMENT!
side note, missus definitely wanted a wedding but compromised for elopement. you are always so kind to your lovely simon šŸ¤
happiness canon!
Tumblr media
There was a dress you used to love when you were a teenager. You had loved it so dearly, it being one your late grandmother bought you when you turn seventeen - it was flowy, beautiful, and looked perfect on you. It was your favorite dress.
Unfortunately, you had lost it when you moved to England to work for Simon. You had told Simon long ago, before your engagement, that you were looking for an exact copy of said dress. And because heā€™s going to be your perfect husband, he spent almost the entire engagement scouring the internet for that dress - not for you to wear for your elopement, but as a gift for being his wife.
The dress was folded in a box, sat in the back seat of the car that was going to drive you to the little cabin up in Scotland that Simon had rented. Gaz had made sure the car was locked several times, Simon had reiterated to both him and Soap that if that dress disappears, so do they.
Winnie was on Soapā€™s shoulder in a beautiful dark green dress - it matched both Soap and Gazā€™s ties. The girl was quiet, watching the sun rise as Soap waited for Gaz at the entrance of the small garden.
ā€œLocked up?ā€
Gaz nodded.
ā€œA'richt, let's git th' flower girl ready.ā€
ā€¢ā€¢ā€¢
Simon wrung his hands beside the priest, a short man who was all too cheerful for Simonā€™s liking. He hated this suit, even though it was the best one he owned - spent thousands on it. He wanted to look good enough for you, wanted to meet the imaginary standards you had set for him in his head.
You had agreed to an elopement instead of a wedding, since he wanted to marry you without the mask and a large amount of people seeing his face was not a great choice for safety. He knew that not having a wedding disappointed you, but you still kept a happy smile - but he couldnā€™t wait to marry you, when it could be years before his family is safe when he keeps the mask off in public.
His shoes felt too tight, even though they were perfect. His dark green tie felt suffocating, the feeling of his balaclava missing from his body was making his chest coil like a venomous serpent, ready to attack at any sign of danger. Yet, there was no danger.
He was waiting for you.
Winnie was chaperoned down the aisle, throwing down handfuls of petals aggressively as Soap and Gaz snickered beside her. With every handful she threw to the ground, her smile only grew bigger. She sat beside Gaz and Soap in the only row of chairs.
There was only the wind as your music when you walked down the aisle, your arm around your fatherā€™s. He smiled proudly at your fiancĆ©, he truly could not think of a man better suited for you than Simon. In your hand was a bouquet of white flowers, your hair done perfectly and makeup precise. Your smile was as big as the ocean, your hands kept your bouquet low in front of your dress. It was one of those 1950s era dresses, the edge hitting below the knee with a round neckline - a variation of your great-grandmotherā€™s wedding dress. Small kitten heels that werenā€™t too tall; Simon intimately knew how much you hated being in high heels for a long time, a beautiful sapphire bracelet hung from your wrist - a gift from your father. The diamond necklace Simon gifted you yesterday sat perfectly on your collarbone, a piece from his mother that was intended to be given to Winnie when she is eighteen. And as he gazed at you, he forgot all about the wedding present he had for you in the car.
You two were married by a priest, with your friends, your father, and your daughter laying witness to you taking Simonā€™s warm hand, sliding on a gold band with a smile that rivaled the beauty of the moon. He held your hand softly as he slid on your gold wedding band, it locked perfectly with your engagement ring.
On some quiet shore of Ireland, you married Simon Riley - a man who cared for you more than he could ever for himself. And as he kissed you as your husband, he forgot about the entire world because now, he was a part of you.

Are you transgender and scared of the future of America? Here is how you can keep yourself safe.
The results of this election are not at all what we expected or wanted them to be. While this is incredibly unfair and there is a strong likely hood that Trump cheated, we must move on. The government, and our country has failed us. The next four years are looking to be very dark for people of color, women, immigrants, queer and transgender people. These times are very frightening, but we still have time before things change. Trump will not be in office until inauguration day, which is Monday, the 20th of January 2025. While we do not know exactly what will happen to transgender people after Trump is in office, project 2025 is stated to remove protections of LGBTQ+ individuals.
So, what can transgender people in America do to stay safe in Trump's America? First, know the safety of where you live. Many states, even states that were red in this election, have laws that protect transgender individuals in hate crime laws, and how they regulate gender. Lgbtmaps is a wonderful resource to figure out if your state is safe. If you live in a state that is generally not safe for transgender people and moving somewhere safer (such as states in New England, New York, California etc.) is an option, you should do so now. For those that live in unsafe areas and cannot leave, you still have options.
If you are on HRT, consider stockpiling your hormones. Testosterone and estrogen can be purchased online. This site can show you how to get hormones online. IF you purchase hormones online, be cautious and do your research on the website you are purchasing from. If you can, use a prepaid visa card instead of a credit or debit card. Producing your own hormones is an option, but this should be a LAST RESORT option. Passing, though unnecessary in trans places, will become extremely important as aggression against transgender people becomes more rampant under Trump's reign.
For transgender men, consider binding using trans-tape or KT tape (around $5 at Walmart for the generic brand) instead of using a binder. Using tape is generally safer, you can wear it 24/7 without having to take binding breaks. If you decide to wear tape instead of a binder, watch a tutorial before using. Packing may also be necessary, using something as simple as a folded pair of socks can give the illusion of being male. Do not fear using the men's bathroom, most cisgender men are stupid don't know transgender men exist, let alone use their bathrooms. Using a 'stand to pee' device may be helpful, but most men do not think anything of a man peeing sitting down (if you are questioned, you have diarrhea).
For transgender women, you can wear a face mask in public if you have traces of facial hair, this can also help to disguise your voice. Tucking generally will make or break your passing, but you can wear loose clothing such as skirts and dresses as an alternative. Since I am not a transgender woman, I don't have all of the tips and tricks that transgender women might have, if you have specific questions for passing in female spaces there are resources such as the mtf subreddit where you can get advice from people who are in the same place you are.
This is also the time to change your name, and if possible, your sex, on your id and birth certificate. Changing your name is a relatively easy process in most states, and most states do not require publication of name change statements. Your state's government website should have information about how you can change your name. In 2022 and living in Massachusetts, it took me just a few days for my name change to be finalized, though this will differ based on where you live.
If you live in one of the twenty-five states that allows it, you can even amend your birth certificate to show your preferred sex without even having sex reassignment surgery! This process, at least for me, was somewhat of a lengthy process but the result is your future employers never needing to know that you are transgender. Most cisgender people do not even know that this is an option. This will be easiest for people who have a diagnosis of gender dysphoria from a doctor, but if you are on HRT, you already have that. Specific states have different laws and processes, so be sure to check your state's government website for what you need and how to go about it. I underwent this process in Massachusetts, so if you have any questions about how this looks in Massachusetts, send me a message.
Most states allow gender markers on IDs to be changed, some even allow an 'X' to be marked instead of 'M' or 'F'.
Overall, be safe and careful. These are just tips on what you can do now while things are still safe. There is no telling what the future will hold, but we can control the present. To all of my trans siblings, we will get through this. The world is a better place with you in it. Do not let them take away your identity. Be there for your friends. If anyone needs help or just someone to talk to, my inbox is open.

Residents in the Southwest Idaho Health District will no longer be able to get vaccinated against COVID-19 at District Health offices.
The Districtā€™s Board of Health voted 4-3 Tuesday to remove the COVID-19 vaccines from its facilities after receiving around 300 public comments urging them to do so. The board vote followed anti-vaccine presentations from multiple doctors widely accused of spreading conspiracy theories and misinformation, including Idaho pathologist Dr. Ryan Cole.
Other presenters joined by teleconference, including Dr. Peter McCullough, a Texas-based cardiologist who had his medical certifications threatened by the American Board of Internal Medicine in 2022, pediatrician Dr. Renata Moon, who has sued Washington State University over free speech when the school did not renew her contract after an appearance before a 2022 U.S. Senate panel questioning vaccines, and Dr. James Thorp, an OB/GYN who was featured in the conspiracy-laden and widely debunked documentary 'Died Suddenly.'
They were invited to participate by the only physician on the Southwest District board of health, Dr. John Tribble. The board initially heard a presentation from a district staff physician, Dr. Perry Jansen, who recommended keeping the vaccine available through the health district offices.
"We really serve as a safety net provider for people who can't get health care in any other way, largely because of finances," Jansen told the board. "We're able to offer free and discounted services for people who don't have access through private care."
COVID-19 vaccines are no longer free, but public health departments can purchase them at a discount. Health insurance often covers the cost of the shots, but anyone paying out-of-pocket would pay less at their local health district clinic.
Many public comments received by the board expressed outrage at local tax dollars supporting COVID-19 vaccine distribution, but Jansen reminded the board that people who want the shots pay for them, either through insurance coverage or in cash, and the health district is not subsidizing the costs in any way.
Board chair Kelly Aberasturi questioned the authority of the board to remove vaccines for everyone, saying many going to the District for COVID vaccines are referred by their doctor.
ā€œSo now, you're telling me that I have the right to override that doctor? Because I know more than he does?ā€ Aberasturi said.
"It has to do with the right of the individual to make that decision on their own. Not for me to dictate to them what they will do. Sorry, but this pisses me off," he added.
Tribble disagreed, saying the COVID vaccines had not been proven to be safe.
ā€œThey show up at the door, trusting us, and we continue to break that trust by saying, tacitly or otherwise, that these things, there's no risk from these.ā€
The CDC recommends everyone above the age of six months receive a COVID vaccine and acknowledges the potential risks.
Board member Jennifer Riebe said she didnā€™t agree with a lot of the CDCā€™s recommendations but didn't think it was the boardā€™s role to make this kind of decision.
ā€œMy concern with this is the process because if this board and six county commissioners and one physician is going to make determinations on every single vaccine and pharmaceutical that we administer, I'm not comfortable with that," she said. "It may be COVID now, maybe we'll go down the same road with the measles vaccine or the shingles vaccine coverage.ā€
ā€œI don't know why we as a health agency, as a public health agency, would want to give that or make it available when they can go other places,ā€ said board member Viki Purdy.
Dr. David Pate, the former CEO of St. Luke's Health System who also served on the Governor's Coronavirus Task Force told Idaho Matters the decision would only serve as a financial barrier to those who wanted to get the vaccine.
"We've got tons of data now, and the fact that there is this group of physicians who is still able to promote scientific nonsense and scare people, and have a public health board of all people, fall for it, and vote in favor of vaccine disinformation is disheartening," he said.
The District serves Adams, Canyon, Gem, Owyhee, Payette and Washington counties. The organization had already received 50 doses of the vaccine at the time of the vote; they are still scheduled to go towards residents of a skilled nursing facility in Canyon County.
COVID vaccines are still available at other locations, like commercial pharmacies and healthcare clinics not affiliated with Southwest District Health.

- getting high asf and causing mischief w/ yelena while mommy and daddy are out and them coming home to absolute chaos
- run away reader run away ready run away reader

- breaking something in the house or something along those lines and losing her shit because her real mother would kill her for something like that
- slipping while running around the pool after mommy has literally punished her for doing that previously. hurts herself, could break something, cries like a baby while wanda just sighs with her hands on her hips with that ā€œi told you so lookā€ until she canā€™t stand not holding babygirl
- someone gets sick (hurt/comfort) or baby gets sick and get literally everyone sick, rip squad
- mommy and daddy finally realize how few actual meals reader eats and institutes the sticker chart to earn stickers and eventually a super special treat
- mommy and daddy make reader get life360 or an airtag attached to her after running away so much
- šŸ‘¹
i was waiting to answer this until i finished what i needed to do. but okay let me ponder all of this:
ā€” r would get a henna with monica and be absolutely distraught when she wakes up the next morning and thereā€™s a mini palm tree on her hip bone. it would take natasha literally holding her down on the bed to get her to see itā€™s literally only temporary
ā€” never going to happen, absolutely not. if natasha has even the slightest bad feeling sheā€™s calling wanda to come pick you up. sheā€™s a reckless driver, but after her accident sheā€™s reluctant to even get on the bike but she knows that you adore it so she does it for you. sheā€™s not willing to risk your safety even if she knows that logically nothing wouldā€™ve happened had she kept you on with her
ā€” after the first time you get high yelena offers to show you an actual good time, more so you stop associating weed to ill practically greening out lol. she makes you wait half an hour between hits, slaps your thigh when you take a hit too hard/deep. sheā€™s a total mother hen which is funny considering sheā€™s the most chaotic person you know. when youā€™re high enough, you and her try and make wandas cookie recipe bc youā€™re properly suffering from the munchies and guess who walks in right as you drop flour all over the floorā€¦ wanda and natasha who had been out at a business dinner that youā€™d willingly elected not to attend. you practically fling yourself at natasha and giggle about how wandaā€™s face is as red as her hair.
ā€” she accidentally knocks a certificate off the wall when she tries to open up the window in natashaā€™s office. itā€™s only a small crack in the frame, but her mind sends her back to a place where any minor infraction was punishable. sheā€™s an inconsolable wreck when natasha gets home but itā€™s reassured that itā€™s only a frame and it can be fixed.
ā€” no because r would eat absolute shit and wanda doesnā€™t know whether to rush over and assess the damage or reprimand her for once again running next to the pool, but when he notices the blood thatā€™s slowly tainting the pavement sheā€™s at your side in minutes trying to calm you down
ā€” the little bug gets a bug and sheā€™s down bad. itā€™s only a day before natasha gets sick too, and wandas the last man standing. she never thought having two girlfriends would become having two whiny and clingy toddlers but alas sheā€™s found herself in a position thatā€™s not at all dissimilar. youā€™re clinging to her whenever sheā€™s around and natashaā€™s whining for kisses despite turning her head away everytime wanda tries to give her one. ā€œdonā€™t kiss me, youā€™ll get sick tooā€ and wanda just rolls her eyes because natashaā€™s fever is so high thereā€™s no doubt sheā€™ll forget by time sheā€™s better. you and natasha get better and a week later wanda is sickā€¦ which nobody wants
ā€” they compromise and let her have coconut shrimp and literally nothing else for dinner because apparently thatā€™s ā€œthe only thing that iā€™m going to eat, my brain has been demanding it all dayā€
ā€” no because i think it would come into play when natasha has to leave for another business trip! sheā€™s suggests the life360 so you know where she is and that sheā€™s safe if she canā€™t text back right awayā€¦ and it does come in handy when you inevitably take off again
it is fucking brutal trying to type in the rain

Marita Vlachou at HuffPost:
Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has designated the counting and certification of electoral votes of the upcoming presidential race by Congress, a National Special Security Event, the U.S. Secret Service announced Wednesday.
This is the first time the certification event, scheduled for Jan. 6, 2025, has been granted this designation, the agencyĀ said. The move, which appears to be an effort to avoid a repeat of the violence seen on Jan. 6, 2021, when a mob of Trump supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol, was firstĀ reportedĀ by The Washington Post. ā€œNational Special Security Events are events of the highest national significance,ā€ Eric Ranaghan, the Special Agent in Charge of the U.S. Secret Serviceā€™s Dignitary Protective Division, said in a statement. Ranaghan added that the agency ā€œin collaboration with our federal, state, and local partners are committed to developing and implementing a comprehensive and integrated security plan to ensure the safety and security of this event and its participants.ā€ The designation follows a request by Washington, D.C., mayor Muriel Bowser, the agency said. Reports by the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection and the Government Accountability Office had also made a similar recommendation.
As a result of the Trump-incited January 6th Insurrection in 2021, the January 6th, 2025 Electoral College certification joint session will now be treated as an National Special Security Event, on par with the Super Bowl.
