Safety in numbers
If you haven't read Stagtown by Punko on Webtoon, it's definitely worth the read!

Birds of a feather
With a panoramic shot or a wide-angle lense, I could have captured the whole gang out for a trot.
There were a half-dozen more outside the frame, on each side. I counted more than 40 in this flock that assembled on my lawn Sunday morning.
This time of year the local wild turkeys (and turkeys everywhere, I suppose) form enormous groups, seeking safety in numbers. Evidently predators prefer smaller, more vulnerable targets.
A turkey nugget: Benjamin Franklin admired the wild turkeys to the extent that he wanted to declare it the national bird. His proposal didn't fly and the bald eagle prevailed.
I'm glad ole Ben lost that argument.

Cool facts about sheep:
As herd animals, they are more safe in numbers, and when they do not feel as afraid, their personalities shine brightly.
It's about time we stopped calling sheep stupid.
We need to follow their tactics to survive this presidency.

By the way, we will get through this. It won't be fun but we will survive.
I hope none of you disappear in the coming days. Seriously don't do anything that can't be undone.

I feel like I kinda need a proper intro so...
Hello, I'm lovelyknives. Or Izzie or Isa if you already know me, I'm a little new to sharing my writing online (or willingly) and I figured this was the most appropriate place to subject people to the ramblings of a mad woman. Either that be whoever's poor soul I'm infatuated with, women, an oddly specific man, or society's unwanted... Monsters. Or I talk about the stuff nobody pays no mind to cause "Oh, at least we're much more advanced than that country" or "It's not affecting me so why should I care? Blah, blah, blah 🤪" are a part of the problem.
So you're welcome to stay, (At the cost of your sanity but at least there's shit to read) or not. No pressure. 🙂🔪
Update: I'd just like to say in light of recent events, this blog will always be a safe place for anyone to come to. And if you're a trump supporter or completely fine with others anatomy, or basic rights being taken away. Or just a miserable person who hates seeing people live in anyway you're jealous of, this isn't the place for you or any kind of intolerance, I won't allow that bullshit on here. Everyone no matter who they are, or what they have to do just to get by is welcomed here, free of judgement.

A weird thing about being back in the city, after a weekend in a house in the forest:
It feels less secure.
I slept sharing a room with five people who know me and care about me. In house with 9 people who know me and care about me in total.
In a camping ground which is securely locked at night, in a forest far away from the hectic traffic of cars and people that the city has in abundance.
Right now, I feel like a kid who would love for their daddy to be at home and I imagine him big and strong, he could defend the home if needed. Like a super hero he could hold the door closed in a cartoonish flood and save us all.
But in reality it’s me and my flatmates in this flat in the city. Who are long-term living partners at best. I wouldn’t expect any of them to protect me and defend the home if anything happened. That’s really my job as a singular entity who is responsible for myself and my room.
But the girl in me loves to be protected. Loves to stay over with my boyfriend, who would answer the door and protect me without even thinking it.
There’s a lot to be said for being sheltered in positive ways. When we can be privileged enough to experience them.
I’m off to sleep tonight with dreams of being in a secure forest home full of chosen family who love and protect each other. Even if it’s just from the Moskitos ;)
