For the homework this week I used a background of a 5 star hotel in India with an individual holding an extravagant version of the Mona Lisa in the foreground. The Mona Lisa has emerald earrings, an expensive necklace, is wearing a tiara and is holding a scepter. My character isn't entirely special and that's kind of the point. She's holding a picture of extravagance in front of her face like a mask or perhaps a shield. Worried that if she doesn't present a front of empty luxury nobody will find her interesting. My view is that whatever she is behind that mask is likely far more interesting than the mask itself, because that would be real.

My main inspiration was the idea of "flexing" on social media. Like, sure, your followers know you're rich, but so are a thousand other influencers. What are the things about you that don't involve your bank account? I personally find people being authentic way more interesting.

Attendance: I chose Sabrina Carpenter, who often posts pictures of herself in fancy outfits, like the coat above. I find this different to what I complained about above because while I would consider her dresses somewhat "opulent" I think it's clear she enjoys dresses up like that for the sake of it. Kinda like cosplay. It feels more like she's just showcasing her hobby that she just happens to be rich enough to indulge in instead of for the sole purpose of showing off.
