Carolina: C.T, what does IDK, ILY, and TTYL mean?
C.T: I don’t know, I love you, talk to you later.
Carolina: Alright, I love you too, I'll ask York.

In project freelancer, it was safe to say that Carolina was Ms. Perfect. Top of the leaderboard, respected- at least to some degree- by all of her team, strong, and smart. If she were a character in a book, dumb schmucks might even call her a Mary sue. Which Y/N recognizes is a very strange thought process, but she’s annoyed, and tired… and maybe a bit jealous as she watches York and Carolina laugh together across the mess hall.
To her left, she barely hears C.T and Wash whispering to each other.
“She’s doing it again.”
“Why doesn’t she just talk to them?”
Y/N looked up from her plate and Wash gave her an awkward wave.
“Because I like our team, and if I fuck this up I’m gonna get reassigned.”
C.T rolled her eyes and leaned forward on the table.
“Well I think being reassigned is better than ending up dead,” C.T teased. It made Y/N scowl as her fellow freelancers didn’t seem to take this seriously. “Look, if this keep up- this excessive training and studying- you’re gonna pass out in the field or something. Your rank might be going up right now, but it’s only a matter of time-”
She cut herself off and looked up behind Y/N.
“Afternoon Michigan,” Carolina said. Y/N took a deep breath before turning and leaning over the back of her chair. “I noticed you’ve been training a lot more recently, let me know if you want to spar together, and don’t overwork yourself.”
Her face was still as set as ever, but everyone at the table could tell it was a genuine offer. Just another way she was Ms. Perfect.
Y/N nodded, mumbling a small thanks, and Carolina left.
When she turned back around, Wash and C.T had both left. She let out a long sigh and buried her head in her arms. Everything hurt, maybe Carolina and C.T were right; she needed a break.
A gentle tap at her shoulder made her jump, slamming her knee into the underside of the table. She groaned, rubbing at it as York laughed.
“York?” Y/N asked as his laughter died out. “I thought you’d have left with Carolina.”
“Ugh, don’t tell me you think that too. It’s bad enough that North won’t get off my back about it.”
“About what?”
York tapped the chair beside Y/N, wordlessly asking if he could sit. She nodded, waving her hand, so he took a seat and folded one arm against his chest and rested his chin on his other palm.
“Me and Carolina.”
There was a cold feeling spreading through Y/N’s chest. It made her cross her arms to try and lessen the pressure.
“What about you two?” Y/N raised a brow.
York laughed before swiftly skipping over the subject.
“I have been told, by multiple people, that I owe you an apology.” He leaned forward, getting into Y/N’s personal space. “Y/N, I’m sorry for being an oblivious fuck.”
Y/N felt her face heat up as she blinked owlishly.
“Wh-huh?”
“Look, the thing with Carolina and I is…” he shifted his gaze awkwardly as he tried to come up with an explanation, “it’s a long story. But,” he raised the hand from across his chest and pointed a finger in the air, “I don’t love her.”
“But I thought-”
“You and half the project it seems,” he chuckled. “But that’s fine.”
Y/N frowned. “But, what if you try to date someone? What if they think you’re already taken, or at least-”
York grabbed the sides of her face, a cocky smirk plastered on his face.
“Then I’ll just have to explain the obvious perk to her.”
“Perk?”
He leaned in and pressed a gentle kiss to Y/N’s lips. When he pulled away, she could still feel his breath on her lips as he whispered, “If everyone’s too busy trying to can Carolina and I for personal relationships, no one’s looking at my actual personal relationships.”
She blinked a few times before an uncontrollable grin spread across her face.
“That is a nice perk, but I like this one better,” Y/N hummed as she kissed York again.

@joltning I present to thee the elaboration requested:
When broken down to the bare essentials Wash and C.T fulfill the same function within the story, and the differences between them as characters mostly results from how the story was executed when it came to them fulfilling that function.
For example, everybody (myself included) complains about how C.T exists solely as a plot device in the Freelancer Saga, but nobody complains about how Wash also exists solely as a plot device in Recovery One and Recollection. I mean Reconstruction is literally the ‘omg theres a plot!?!?!?!?” season of RvB, and without Wash there is no story.
The main reason Wash isn’t perceived in the same way as C.T is due to the level of freedom the writers had when it came to telling the story they wanted to tell. The Blood Gulch Chronicles and Out of Mind set the foundations for Recovery One and Recollection, but it was through Wash that the lore of RvB was reconstructed into a cohesive story. The unexplainable was explained, the unelaborated was elaborated upon, and all the wacky hijinks and random bits and bobs of the previous seasons were tied together in a way that answered the question asked in episode one: Why are all of these idiots stuck in a canyon in the middle of nowhere while being separated into color coded teams that are fighting each other?
C.T however did not have the same level of freedom as Wash, and this is because of pfl’s nature as a prequel combined with the pacing of those seasons. We pretty much already knew everything about her that there was to know, so there was no point in hiding anything or taking it slow because of that, hence the painfully obvious foreshadowing. This approach to the Freelancer Sage, and C.T’s story is what leads to her essentially having the same arc as Wash, just reversed—or more accurately described; mirrored, like Chief and Arbiter in Halo 2.
A majority of the reversal and/or mirroring between them manifests in their personalities, which I actually talk about some here, but some examples of the phenomenon in regards to actual plot points are:
They are both introduced as recovery agents (or rather fake C.T, who was the real C.T at the time, was introduced as a recovery agent). Wash is a single agent recovering human technology from dead Freelancers, and he uses explosives to destroy the rest of the equipment to prevent information leaks. C.T is attempting to recover alien technology from a long dead civilization with the help of other aliens, and he uses explosives to make sure anyone who knows of their operation and presents a problem will be destroyed to prevent information leaks.
We knew exactly who Wash was, who he worked for, and why he was reassembling the blues. We didn’t know who C.T was, who he worked for, and why he was fighting Tucker in the desert.
Wash was shot in the back and survived, but failed to subdue the enemy. C.T was shot in the chest and died just as they were going to subdue the enemy.
In regards to the real C.T, some examples include:
The Meta was portrayed as the primary conflict for Wash, but in reality he had always been aiming for the destruction of Freelancer. On the flip side, C.T’s fight to take down Freelancer is portrayed as the main conflict, but in reality, while poorly explained, tracking down the alien artifacts seemed to be her real goal (which is not as insane as it sounds when you remember that Charon Industries was more aligned with the UNSC proper than pfl was).
Wash never hinted towards his plan of taking out the Meta in Recovery One to South, or his plan for destroying Freelancer to the Reds and Blues until he had the perfect opportunity to strike, and by then he had built enough trust that they were willing to help him out despite his secrecy. If they weren’t, well, he knew what to say to change their minds. C.T however wasn’t exactly subtle with her thoughts and feelings, and she didn’t build any trust with the people around her, so when she finally defected—which didn’t take a genius to see coming—no one was willing to listen to her or take her at her word, and there was nothing she could say or do to change their minds except offering concrete evidence. “I’m starting not to trust you.” vs “I can’t trust you.”
This one isn’t a plot point, but I’m going to mention it anyway because I think it’s a nice example of this subtle yet obvious mirroring I’m talking about, and shows what I was trying to replicate in my blurb that spurred me to finally write this analysis:
Counselor: Agent Washington? Agent Washington? Washington: Sorry, what were you saying? Counselor: Were you thinking about Epsilon again, Agent Washington? Washington: No. Counselor: What happened with Epsilon was not your fault, Agent Washington. Washington: I didn't think it was. Counselor: We have safeguards for the unstable emotional patterns of an artificial intelligence. Sometimes these algorithms fail. Washington: Oh. So then it's your fault. Counselor: We prefer to think of it as no one's fault.
Vs:
Washington: It wasn't your fault, Connie. Connie: Easy for you to say. You didn't drop the ball. Washington: The ball got dropped. We were all there, it's everyone's responsibility. Connie: Dammit, why are you doing that? Washington: What am I doing? Connie: Making excuses for me. I'm not making excuses for myself...why are you?
All I've mentioned above is also why C.T’s relationship with the leader and the plot twist that the C.T in the desert wasn’t the real C.T are disliked by so many, as there was nothing to justify the sudden bait and switch like there was at the end of S6. I mean, considering we see both Tex and South use voice mods to sound like men, it reads as though that was supposed to be the case with C.T as well, which makes it feel like it was changed at the last second because everyone saw it coming.
This is an issue because A) There's nothing inherently wrong with being predictable—a good plot twist always has foreshadowing, even if it won’t be registered as foreshadowing until the twist happens in certain cases—and B) The story of the Freelancer Saga as a prequel was confined in a box created by the previous seasons, and all they were doing was connecting the aforementioned events to tie up a few loose ends and properly establish Carolina's driving force in present day S10.

We had 10 seasons straight of Church as the main character but apparently no writer except for Miles could stomach the idea of having a black lead. It's so odd because Tucker is the natural conclusion to go with. He's the one who figured out the conspiracy first, outsmarted Wyoming, ran C.T around circles, and managed to create the puncture wounds that eventually lead to The Meta's death, and in the season 10 finale it was Tucker who took the first step to go help Carolina with everyone else following suit.
The show had always built up the idea that Tucker was smarter and more capable than he let on and Chorus just expanded on it naturally. Season 15 even acknowledges how far he's grown with his fighting skills AND has him be the one to mirror temple when the BnRs meet the RnBs. He's the leader of the group.
the biggest problem with rvb is that once it considers a characters arc "done" it doesn't.....know what to do with them. Epsilon and Carolina's plot in the chorus trilogy was so far removed from everyeone else because? watching her fight sharkface is so much more important for her growth than interacting with the reds and blues i suppose. Epsilon is a whole mess i don't wanna get into. Trying to avoid rambling but my point is no one knows how to handle Tucker after his growth because??? keeping him as the lead is just too fucking difficult i guess!!
I’m so sick about Tucker. He should have been the main fucking character dammit!!!!!!!!

rvb women carrying sick!you to bed headcanons
Tumblr media
based on this text from my best friend after i mentioned i think all the rvb women are built as fuck
Scenario: You threw up and are nauseous, you cant walk to your room. Youre friends/teammates with this person, they carry you to your bed. You have nausea medicine in your side table drawer.
Tex: picks you up somewhat haphazardly, but doesn't jostle you. she holds you close and runs her thumb on ur side (the hand under ur arm.) - She places you in bed and pats you on the shoulder before covering you with the blanket. Maybe she tucks you in, if youre friends.
Carolina:(post-pfl/current) picks you up very carefully, is pretending she doesn't care that much. Your head is on her shoulder, she would have her hand on the side of your head if she could carry you that way. She asks if youre ok. You say you are even though youre still feeling gross, she knows this, but goes along with it anyway. She puts you in bed and lightly tucks you in. Youre drifting off when she comes back in the room to give you [meds] and water. When you eventually wake up she fell asleep at the end of the bed.
Carolina:(project freelancer) picks you up carefully, is pretending she doesn't care. Your head is on her shoulder, she sighs with lighthearted annoyance. She brings you to your bunk/room and lays you in bed. She takes [meds] from your side table drawer and hands you them with a water bottle. She tells you to be on time for training in the morning and to go to medbay if youre still sick.
South: picks you up and accidentally jostles you. She does not want to be doing this, but feels obligated to. She cares just enough that she would feel bad if she didnt. Neither of you enjoy this, but you dont feel well enough to walk, so its whats happening. She brings you to your bunk/room and puts you in bed. "need anything?" she would bluntly ask, obviously not wanting to get anything. You say no, figuring you can get [meds] from your side table yourself. If you say yes, you also tell her where they are. She will groan and complain that its "right fuckin next to you." The comment doesn't sting, this is just her personality and youre used to it. Its reassuring that her demeanor doesn't change, she isn't interested in babying you.
Kai/Sister: She picks you up effortlessly, she has definitely carried her drunk and/or passed out friends before, while drunk. It's a learned action. You sort of curl into her. You know that, even though she is known to be a bit careless in a reveler way, she is safe and will take care of you. She asks how youre feeling as she carries you to your room, you reply truthfully, and she tells you one of many stories of how she got wasted as shit and threw up. its an attempt to make you feel better. it helps. She lays you in bed and gives you [meds] and water. "need anything else?". She asks if you mind her staying awhile, she doesn't want you to choke if you get sick again. You say yes. She tells you more drunk party stories, including one where she carried multiple friends home and "banged" a different friend the same night, until you drift asleep. When you wake up she is asleep next to you, as far as she can be from you on the bed, and there is water and crackers on the nightstand.
C.T: picks you up easily, though seems to be having a little bit of a hard time. She can handle it, she wouldn't drop you. You both have a light conversation, if you feel like you dont want to talk she doesn't mind the quiet. She taps her fingers on the side of your knee where shes holding it as she walks. It seems like she doesn't realize shes doing it, but it comforts you. She brings you to your bunk/room and puts you in bed, turning the lights on dim. Your [meds] and water are given to you, she asks if you need anything. You ask her to stay until you fall asleep. She looks torn, but says she'll compromise and stay for 15. She sits on the edge of the bed with her hand on your shoulder. She is humming a familiar song and you fall asleep surprisingly fast.
Dr. Grey: She cant pick you up, she may train in her free time, but she isnt that strong. yet. She makes a passing soldier carry you and walks at their side, asking for your symptoms and how youre feeling. You answer truthfully, she is a doctor after all. The soldier ignores the conversation, less out of respect for your privacy, more out of fear of Dr. Grey. When you arrive at your room the soldier lays you down carefully and is waved away by Grey. She gives you [meds] and water, she advises you to stay in bed the rest of the day, and says she will send someone to check on you in the morning. Grey reassures that you'll likely be alright, its just a cold, and you have her to watch over you. She says to give her a call if you need anything further as shes leaving.
Kimball: picks you up haphazardly but carefully, she is not the best at this, and thats ok. Your arm is around her shoulder, your hand resting on her opposite shoulder blade. She smiles when she notices. As you walk, she asks how youre doing, reassures you, and comments on how she noticed youve been doing well during mandatory training. You feel comfortable with her, and engage in conversation if youre feeling up for it. Kimball lays you in bed and pulls the blanket over you. She gives you [meds] and water, and asks if you need anything. You say no, she nods and reminds you to visit the med bay if you feel worse or still feel sick in the morning. Before she leaves, she tells you to "get some rest, you deserve it." and to "sleep well." Youre glad you know her.
Four Seven Niner: picks you up cautiously, though she seems like she isn't trying to. She holds you close, not on purpose, but it's comfortable and you feel like you could fall asleep. She chatters with you as she walks, telling you shit about spaceships. She asks if youre ok, and complains if you lie. Youre deposited in your bed, and she quickly tucks you in in a joking matter. Youre both laughing a bit, she gives you [meds] from your side table and gets you water. She asks if you need anything, and says she will come check on you later. Youre asleep when she came back, but she brought crackers and juice. If she isn't scheduled for something she will stay until you wake up.
Jensen: picks you up uneasily, but is determined to get you to bed. She tells you things you can do to ease sickness/feel better, and that she knows how annoying it can be. She almost trips and drops you a few times, she apologizes profusely each time, you forgive her. She lays you in bed and asks if you need anything. You say no, but thank her. She smiles and says it wasnt a problem. She dims the light and waves as she leaves.
Dylan Andrews: picks you up easily, shes pretty strong for a reporter. She asks if youre alright immediately, and disproves you if you lie. She holds you firmly, like she is afraid she will drop you if she doesn't. She does not prompt a conversation, but would not object to having one. This isn't because she doesn't want to talk, just because she doesn't want to force you to talk. She places you in bed and lightly tucks you in. She gets you [meds] and water, asks if you need anything, and reminds you to check with a doctor if you still feel bad in the morning. Before leaving, she asks if its ok if she checks on you later, you answer truthfully. Youre comfortable with her, you know you can trust her.

30 - You're Not Alone
For @whumptober2021
Chapter link -> Here
Trigger warning for: Sad gay stuff, thinking that you are hallucinating, needle mention.
Prompt: Ghosts
Summary: Caboose thinks that he's having a side effect from his treatments, but Wash realizes that there's more to these 'hallucinations' than what was originally thought.
Caboose started seeing things not too long after they all got settled on Iris.
Perhaps it was because Dr. Grey was doing something to fill in all the missing holes in his brain. He goes every week back to Chorus to get an injection (and a cupcake for his troubles) and then he feels strange for a few days. Strange like his brain is stretching and moving around, but surprisingly it doesn’t hurt. He hasn’t had an unscheduled nap since he had his surgery, and he was getting less headaches as time went on. Overall, he was feeling pretty great!
So he was quite concerned when he saw a flicker of movement in the corner of his eye one day. At first he thought it may be a person, but the only people on Iris was himself and his friends. He was told by Dr. Grey and Wash to tell them if he saw anything strange as it could be a side effect from what medicine he was taking. They were messing with his noggin after all, it would make sense that they were being careful. So he kept an eye out in case it happened again, now a little afraid and paranoid for what it all could mean.
Then one day when heading up to the roof of the base (to say good-morning to the sun of course), he saw a person sitting there, watching the sun rise. Caboose could see that they weren’t all...there, as thought they were an after image pasted on the scenery. They were faint, parts of them transparent enough to see the scenery through them.
The brown armor turned, the helmet looking into his. It spoke with a voice, both soft and far away. “Can you see me?”
Caboose did what he was told to do and ran downstairs to get Washingtub.
“WASHINGTUB!” He shouted, running around the base until he found his friend, getting ready to go out for PT it seemed. Before Wash could even greet him, he was met with a gigantic hug and a rather upset Caboose.
“Caboose? What’s wrong? Are you okay?” Wash was confused, but returned the hug, concern in his voice.
“I saw a person on the roof!” Caboose hurriedly explained. “They were there and see-through and asked if I could see them! Agent Washingtub, am I hallucinating? I don’t want more shots!”
“Listen, lets go and take a look, okay? And then we can decide what to do next.” Wash, like always, was quick to calm the panicked Spartan down. Predictably, when they arrived on the roof, said person was nowhere to be found. Wash scanned the area, even using binoculars, but saw nothing.
“So you saw a person here, and they talked to you?” He asked once he determined that there was nobody around.
Caboose nodded. “Yeah. They were brown and they had silver and they were sitting right there! They asked if I could see them but I ran and got you because that’s what I’m supposed to do when I see strange things.”
“Hrm…” Wash looked thoughtful, looking out at the now sun bathed wilderness. “You did good ‘Boose, thank you for letting me know. Let’s see if you see anything again before we go and get Grey involved, alright?”
Caboose nodded, glad that he wasn’t going to get anymore shots anytime soon.
The second person he saw was when he was washing dishes. Simmons had introduced the concept of a ‘chore wheel’, so it was his turn to do dishes! At first nobody trusted him around breakable objects, supervising him for a while, but he proved he can wash dishes very well! He just needed help with cups, his hands were too big to fit inside, so he left them for Tucker.
He was just about to put the last plate away, when a purple and green person melted into view, standing right beside him. Caboose shouted in surprise, dropping the plate and shattering it into hundred of pieces. The person was like the first on the roof, oddly transparent. They looked at him and spoke with a sense of urgency.
“Hello? Can you hear me?”
Luckily Tucker and Wash ran in to see what the commotion was, and by the time they got there the person was gone. They found a shaking Caboose huddled in a corner, broken pieces of plate everywhere.
That was when he had to go back to Chorus to talk to Dr. Grey.
Dr. Grey had huffed and speculated, talking to Wash mostly as Caboose had a hard time understanding the big words she used. “Hallucinations are a rare, but known side effect from the gene treatment,” she had said. “It’s caused by missing parts of the brain connecting again...and sometimes you see after images. I’m glad you told your friends so fast, that means we can counteract them so you won’t get so spooked again!”
He had gotten two cupcakes that day because hallucinating was scary. It wasn’t like his flashbacks, because those were things he knew. But he didn’t know these people, he had never seen them before. He was given some pills to take that will help him stay calm and a different kind of shot, something he wasn’t so happy about.
He was glad to be home again at the end of the day. It was familiar and warm and he felt safe there. He was sure that he’d be alright, Dr. Grey is smart and Washingtub is smart and he trusts them. Sometimes Tucker could be smart too, but only sometimes.
So imagine his surprise when he saw a third person hanging out in his room, as though they were waiting for him to show up. Caboose did the only rational thing he could think of doing. He took one of the pills Dr. Grey gave him and laid down on his bed to wait for it to work.
“Stop that,” He told the apparition harshly. “You are scaring me and that’s not nice. Now I have to get more shots.”
The hallucination tilted their head. “I’m sorry,” they said in a feminine voice. “We didn’t mean to make you so scared.”
“Well you are! So stop!” he huffed and rolled over to his side, more annoyed now and afraid.
“North and York were right, you can see and hear us. Interesting.” she continued. He could hear her but she stayed where she was, not coming closer.
“Can you go away? Please?” Caboose tried the polite route.
“We can’t, not until we get our message out.” she replied. Before she could say anything else, she was interrupted by Wash opening the door to his room.
“Caboose?” He asked, “Who are you talking to? Are you seeing things again?”
“Oh David…” The voice continued. “You’ve gotten so much happier. I’m so glad.”
“There’s a lady in here and she won’t be quiet and his name is NOT David, thank you very much. It’s Washingtub!” Caboose sat up in bed and shouted that last part at the corner of the room. Wash looked, but saw nothing. But what his friend said gave him pause.
“Caboose,” he started, carefully. “How did you know my name was David?”
“The lady called you David.” Caboose frowned. “The one over there that isn’t supposed to be here so I don’t get more shots.”
To Caboose’s annoyance, the other two hallucinations joined her, standing together in his room.
“Caboose,” Wash swallowed, his throat suddenly dry. “What does the lady look like?”
“Uhhhhhhhhh, she has bright brown armor and she says her name is C.T. The one over there is brown and silver and he says his name is York. That one is purple and green and he says his name is North.” Caboose pointed at each person, that only he could see.
The Spartan watched Wash crumble up against the wall, clutching the part of his armor over his heart. “How do...I never talked about them-I….how?”
“I don’t know!” Caboose threw up his hands with an angry shout. “They won’t go away now until they tell you a thing!”
“And...what do they want you to tell me?” Wash looked at the area of Caboose’s ire, but saw nothing. If he imagined hard enough, he could almost see them standing there in his mind's eye. But they were dead, this couldn't be possible, could it?
Caboose tilted his head to the side, listening to something only he could hear. “They said….they said that it isn’t your fault and that they love you, and North and York say you can move on if you want...whatever that means. They want you to be happy and live cause ummmmm you look dumb when you are depressed.” Caboose sighed and flopped back against the bed. “Agent Washingtub, am I going to have to get more shots now?” He wearily asked. He sounded afraid, scared. This whole situation was probably scaring the living shit out of him. But Wash could only wheeze for a little bit before he could catch his breath.
“I...no. No Caboose, you won’t have to get more shots.” He finally managed, blinking back tears that nobody could see. “Are they...are they still there?”
Caboose let out a long, suffering sigh. “Yeah. They are looking at you.”
Wash couldn’t help but shiver at that, the idea of his dead friend and partners staring at him was unnerving. They were dead, but apparently Caboose could see them. See actual fucking ghosts. Wash knew that rationally, he shouldn’t believe him, he could just be hallucinating in just the right way…
But nobody knew about York and North and himself.
“I…” He didn’t quite know what to say, so he just decided to wing it. “I miss you guys. You say it isn’t my fault, but I still feel guilty. I don’t think I can ever stop loving you all, but I’ll try my best to follow your wishes.”
“They called you a...oh. I’m not allowed to say-, well, if you say so…” Caboose cleared his throat. “They say, ‘You are a fucking dork, be happy you dumb shit.’” He frowned and shivered at having to curse, even if it was a direct quote.
“I promise, I’ll give it my best shot.” Wash closed his eyes, and could almost imagine being hugged by them again. The touch now a faded memory, but he could still remember what they smelled like. He doesn’t think he could ever forget that, not in a million years. He opened them to see Caboose look relieved.
“They’re gone,” he sighed. “I will take a nap so I do not have to think about this anymore. That was scary.”
“You do that Caboose, I’ll leave you alone.” Wash watched Caboose flop over to his side, walking out and closing the door behind him. Poor Caboose, he hoped he'd be okay after all of this. He really should bake some cupcakes, just in case. To be honest, most likely Caboose would forget that this even happened, perhaps letting the poor man relax without worrying about ghosts anymore.
He didn’t think the pain of losing the people he cared about would ever go away, but hearing that he was allowed to be happy, even if it was second hand from his friend, gave him a little more hope for the future.
If he was now allowed to be happy, perhaps he’ll go and see what Tucker is up to.
HAHA I can include a tiny headcanon of mine that Wash was in a poly relationship with North and York and losing them both, plus his best bud C.T. really fucked him up for a good long while. It hard to move past all that pain, and sometimes you feel like you have to stay loyal to a memory of someone. But these three hung around until someone could see them, and tell Wash to knock it the fuck off.
You are allowed to be happy.
It's just a shame they freaked Caboose right the fuck out, cause he legit believes he was hallucinating this all. He used to believe in ghosts until the EMP killed Alpha. Caboose was rightly concerned about his health and actually did a good going right to his friends and doctor when things seem weird. The gene therapy he is getting is making parts of his brain grow just to plug any holes. He won't get those functions back but it's designed to lessen his chronic headaches and seizures.
Yes Wash is gonna see what Tucker is up to cause that's another ship I like XD If it happens or not is up to Tucker, but I think he's a disaster Bi. ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯

@joltning most of my name hc's are pretty self-explanatory, but here they are anyway because I'm normal about fictional characters and over think everything lol.
for Connie her dog tags follow the same numeration used in halo canon, and while the ‘rt’ at the end of her service number is obviously meant to be ‘Rooster Teeth’, going by halo canon those letters would be her first and last initials, so Reine Tays.
For Wash, it's a Washington D.C joke, because of course, everything in David C's life continues to be a sick joke. It's been years since I originally picked out Caito (I wanna say between 2015-2017), but I'm pretty sure I just scoured one of those last name sites until I landed on Caito (which I pronounce k-toe, but iirc it's italian so I think it can also be pronounced cat-e-oh) and went "yeah that sounds nice".
For Carolina, Lilith was chosen since that's the name of a figure in jewish mythology—specifically a demon, because religion and ancient history are very big themes to the halo franchise and RvB followed the usage of those themes with Wash, the Meta, and Pfl.
I recently decided to supplement my original head canon though by giving her a middle initial in order to tie her to the Director. I chose Victoria as in victory or victorious.
For Tex, Bethany is from the “A girl known as Beth now known as Tex” line in A Girl Named Tex, and rather than making it Tex's middle name as Burnie said it could've been in some interview somewhere, I decided to make it Allison's maiden name in an effort to somewhat flesh her out as a person outside of her role as ‘dead wife/mother’.
Women choosing to hold on to their maiden names, at least in western society, are generally career women who are already established by that name in their field, and Allison was no different as a military woman. While being a wife and a mother were important parts of her identity, she was first and foremost a soldier committed to her duty.
For Maine, I'm pretty sure I stole Matthias from a fanfic, and Maine being a spartan is a pretty popular headcanon so a quick halopedia search gave birth to the B170, making him a SPARTAN III.
For the Innie Leader, I had an idea for a scene in my C.T lives AU pop up on a walk one day, and without spoiling anything I wanted something that sounded formal and gave the same energy as a parent or other authority figure using a child's full name to indicate how much trouble they're in. Joshua Daniels fits that vibe to me, but since it sounds so formal I wanted him to go by something more casual in other situations. J.D fits that, and it works as both a nod to his adoption of Connie’s identity in canon, but also explicitly contrasts how she used C.T to distance herself from others.
share with me some name hcs for characters who don’t have full ones! (or at all) =)
