The Playing For Change video for Jackson Browne's "Doctor My Eyes". The video starts with Browne joined by bassist Leland Sklar and drummer Russ Kunkel who both played on the original 1971 recording.

Doctor My Eyes
Songwriter: Jackson Brown
Doctor, my eyes have seen the years
And the slow parade of fears without crying
Now I want to understand
I have done all that I could
To see the evil and the good without hiding
You must help me if you can
Doctor, my eyes
Tell me what is wrong
Was I unwise to leave them open for so long
'Cause I have wandered through this world
And as each moment has unfurled
I've been waiting to awaken from these dreams
People go just where they will
I never noticed them until I got this feeling
That it's later than it seems
Doctor, my eyes
Tell me what you see
I hear their cries
Just say if it's too late for me
Doctor, my eyes
They cannot see the sky
Is this the prize
For having learned how not to cry

“Immediate Family” Film Making the Festival Rounds; Wider Release Uncertain
- “My getting lucky was really these guys,” Jackson Browne says of famed session group
When they worked on albums by James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt, Jackson Browne and scads of other artists in the 1970s, the Immediate Family were more than a group of session players.
“My getting lucky was really these guys,” Browne says as “Doctor My Eyes” plays in the trailer for “The Immediate Family.”
“They are as much the authors of this music … as the artists they did it with.”
They are guitarists Waddy Wachtel and Danny 'Kootch' Kortchmar, bassist Leland Sklar and drummer Russ Kunkel.
“The creative input of these session guys cannot be overstated,” Taylor says. “It cannot be overstated.”
Others in the film - Carole King, Phil Collins, Don Henley, Neil Young, David Crosby and Stevie Nicks among them - back up the previous comments.
Keith Richards, too, appears, mumbling incomprehensibly but clearly using the word: admiration.
Directed by Denny Tedesco (“The Wrecking Crew”), the “Immediate Family” film is currently making the festival rounds. There’s no word on a release date.
Meanwhile, the Family is making music on its own these days. Not because they have to. Because they want to.
“I’ve got a band full of brothers that love me,” Wachtel says. “I’m proud of all of it.”
