Netflix's Outerbanks Season 4 and filming

Netflix's Outerbanks has started filming for season 4. The teenage drama series became extremely popular during the start of the 2020 pandemic lock down. This is one of those shows that also got a lot of love from Tiktok and helped gain its popularity.

The cast include Madelyn Cline, Chase Stokes, Madison Bailey, Johnathon Davis, and Rudy Pankow. They all play teenagers who found gold and now have to deal with the consequences of finding it. Lasttseason ended with a bang and I cant wait to see more.

Right now casting calls are being held for people interest in being an extra and background actors. All you have to do is submit 2 photos of yourself, your age, and the city you live in. Its that easy and a great opportinity to be apart of one of the most popular shows on Netflix.

Black Mirror Season 6

Black Mirror is finally back after four years. The suspenful dystopian-like show is back and everyone is excited. The last season, season five, was released four years ago on June 9th in 2019 . Season six premiered on this month on June 15th. This time we get to watch five episodes. That's two more than last seasons 3 episode watch. Many people have been raving and having been expressing their excitement for the shows return.

Black Mirror was originally on the Channel 4 British Television Channel, but ever since 2016 it's been on Netflix and has become more and more popular. If you haven't seen this show you should definitely start binge watching.

The Summer I Turned Pretty Returning this summer

The popular show based on the book of the same name is returning on July 14 on Amazon Prime. The series stars Lola Tung, Gavin Casalegno, and Christopher Briney. The book was already popular but the hype from TikTok took the show to a whole another level. You coudn't even scroll down TkiTok without a video talking about this show (at least on my for you page lol). The show is about a girl who goes on annual vacation with her mom and their children. All the kids are best friends, only this time it"s different their all teenagers and things have changed. It feature a love triangle and gets very complicated. I'm excited for the upcoming season, hopefully its a good and the last. However, I did the books so that means the show is about to take a sad turn. Will you be watching next month?

'Cruel Summer' Season 2 Out Now!

Season 2 of Freeform's Cruel Summer, premiered last Monday at 9 pm. It stars Lexi Underwood and South Carolina's very own Sadie Stanley. The series debuted in 2021 and focused on a girl who was kidnapped and a her suspicious friend. Although the series got high praises and was renewed for a second season, a lot of people were disappointed. Due to the fact that the new season wouldn't be a continuation of the previous. Many were left wondering about the ending and what would happen next. It's been confirmed that Cruel Summer is an anthology series. So, that means is that each upcoming season will focus on the new story and with different characters. I actually got to sit down and watch the first 2 episodes that premiered last Monday. As a first time watcher, I can say that the series is popular for a reason and I hope it continues to be interesting. The next episode comes out on June 12. Will you be tuning in?

Sam Levinson's new HBO series 'The Idol '

Sam Levinson, the director highly known for the popular tv show Euphoria, has came out with another show. The series stars Lily Rose Depp, The Weeknd (Able Tesfay), Troye Sivan, and even guest stars Black Pink's Jennie. Many people were skeptical about the new series, especially since the last season of Euphoria seemed to be written a bit different. Viewers also question Levinsons creative approach since he tends to use graphic and nude scenes, which some say are unnecessary and not needed.

The first two episodes of The Idol premiered at this years 76th Cannes Film Festival... and the reviews were not that great. As expected the show featured graphic sex scenes that critics disapproved of

It officially aired on HBO on June 4th and already has many one star reviews on Google and 4.5/10 score on Rotten Tomatoes. It even failed to get at-least a million views, which is very unlikely for a HBO series.

Will the show get a second season? Well right now it's hard to say but the number of viewers definitely mean something. Maybe people just aren't interested. I doubt that I will watch the show but I would like to see how successful it ends up being.

Spider-man: Across the Spiderverse and upcoming live action movie

Spider-man: Across the Spiderverse released May 30 and has already been making some noise. in only five days the five have made $208.6 million against a $100million budget. That's absolutely awesome. The movie stars Miles Morales Spiderman, voiced by Shamiek Moore. Haille Steinfield also stars as Gwen Stacy. The film has received mostly positive reviews just its prequel Spider-man: Into the Spider-Verse.A third film is already in the works and plans to be released March in 2024. Even a live action movie featuring Miles Morales' Spiderman has already been planned. It will make history as the first live action  marvel movie to feature a black and hispanic Spider-man.

Barbie trailer

After last month's teaser of Greta Gerwigs Barbie, many people were raving about the upcoming film. After the teaser many people on twitter went to voice their opinions on the movie. 

On May 25, the film's first full trailer was released worldwide. Before, the full release of the trailer, many were unsure if the casting of Ken was done correctly. Afterwards many loved Ryan Goslings as Ken. A meme quickly started going around the internet later the day after the trailer featuring his character The movie seems to be a little more serious than a childrens movie. The Barbie trailer hints at adult undertones and themes.

Little Mermaid Opening Week

The Little Mermaid Review

This week was the opening week for Disney’s Little Mermaid starring Halle Bailey. The highly anticipated film had been in the works since covid, and the world is finally able to see it.The first day of opening, the film made 185.5 million against a 250 million budget.  As this week closes, we have been seeing the audience and critic reviews run in. Although the film has been deemed as successful there have been some negative feedback on the film. Many watchers have voiced their dislike of the cinematography, CGI/visual effects, and casting decisions. Having seen the movie, I do understand the fuss  about he cinematography and visual effects. In comparison to Blank Panther 2 and Avatar: Way of the Water, movies that featured highly praised underwater scenes, the Little Mermaids scenes were very underwhelming. Considering the movie was made during COVID, some things were harder to do during this time. So we can't be too critical given the circumstances.

Queen Charottle

Queen Charlotte has taken the world by storm. The period piece romance has become one of the most popular releases on Netflix. The highly watched Bridegerton prequel tells the story of how Charottle became Queen Charottle. The audience gave it a 7/10 review on IMDB, 4.5/5 review on google, and a 94% on rotten tomatoes.  Actress India Ria Amareifio and actor  Corey Mlycherrest, play young Queen Charottle and young King George pretty conviscenly. Their on screen romance makes it hard to believe they're not dating each other in real life. With only six episodes this is one of the greatest shows of this year.

CANNE FILM FESTIVAL!!

The 76th annual Cannes festival has made it its way back in Cannes, Southern France. This year it starteed to on May 16 and will be ending May 27th. The annual film festival is a place for many celebrities and people of the film world to come together and appreciate the art of film for twelve days straight.  It’s one of the largest film festivals to happen in the year. During the festival, new movies from all over the world are proviewed at voted on by a jury. Out of Two thousand movie submissions, only a select few make it in. About 56 feature movies are and 14 short films are selected to be watched. Even the red carpet is put out for this prestigious event! Who did you see on the red carpet?

If you haven't heard all ready, The Little Mermaid is getting ready for to be released in theatres. The highly anticipated film has lots of gossip surrounded it. Especially after it was annouced that Halle Bailey, from ChloeXHalle, was cast as the Ariel the mermaid.

She's more then proved she was the only right choice for this role. Not only is her voice magical and angelic, she even sounds like a princess too. She recently sang at Disney World days after the world premier and fans are excited to see her in theatres.
