Anyone got a band that used to be popular that no one listens to anymore?
I’ll go first. Rush. They haven’t made any more music since the drummer Neil Peart died back in 2020 and no one listens to progressive rock anymore. But I’d love to see if anyone else has any other bands that they are one of few remaining fans of!

Geddy Lee, I'm pretty islamophobic, but you blew it! Nobody deserves genocide, not even Palestinians.
You just went on Instagram and made this boomer cronge post about antisemitism, like dude, you see it in Poland.

It was my great pleasure to welcome Ian McLuckie to co host this weeks show with a great (mostly) 80s playlist. This is The Rock Show vs. Electronic 80s.

Lançado em 19 de outubro de 1993, Counterparts é o 15º álbum de estúdio do Rush. Com faixas como "Stick It Out", "Cold Fire" e "Nobody's Hero" no tracklist.

Hello Tumblr!
Hey Tumblr! My first post here!
I’m a 25yr old autistic male, desperately trying to be as hermit-like as possible in our modern society! My interests include: nature, dogs, fantasy & sci-fi (esp. The Lord of the Rings and original Star Wars), Rush the band, ELO, and rock n roll in general.
Currently very depressed but trying to make the best of things.
In terms of what I do for a career, ask me when I’ve got it sorted out.

First art of the decade is also a sad one. Had to bring out my paints for a quick tribute piece. Rest well, Professor 🥁

Farewell, Neil...
I know I'm late in posting this, but I wanted to get it right... Growing up, there was alot of music I listened to. Lots that thrilled me, things that bring back memories of my life growing up in Alexandria, Va., in the US. I was your typical 80s kid, raised on top 40, and MTV. Van Halen, MJ, Madonna, Journey, Def Leppard, Genesis, Tom Petty, I listened to it all. As I got older, my tastes widened, especially thanks to my brother Henry, who introduced me to the likes of Yes, Ozzy Ozbourne, Seal, Pink Floyd, Metallica... None of it though, has ever touched me as close, or connected with me on an emotional, spiritual, and philosophical level, like the band he introduced me to in the summer of 1989... Rush was one of those few bands that clicked perfectly with me from the very start. Thoughtful, with subject matter spanning from the realm of speculative fiction, and fantasy, to the intensely personal, to stark reality, to truly inspiring and observant treatise on the human condition, all through the guise of metaphor, and grand stories, with the feel of modern myths and legends. It sparked my imagination, while the complex harmonies and interweaving melodies carried me along, often taking my breath away. They would become my favorite band from then on... At the center of the group was Neil Peart, drummer and main lyricist. It was from his fertile mind, that Rush's most important music sprang. As his beliefs and imagination evolved, so would the band's music. Neil was always driving the band to adopt more complex musical structures, always striving to better himself. He became a world class drummer, mentioned with the same reverence as drummers of legendary bands like Alex Van Halen, Joey Kramer, and Keith Moon. But his artistry was not just in the beat. While Getty Lee and Alex Lifeson wrote most of the notation, it would be Neil's lyrics and vision that would forge the center and meaning of the group's most central concepts, a well they would delve deeply into, as the years went by. Universal concepts like power, love, philosophy, the wonders of science, as well as the great mysteries of our world, would fill 19 albums over 4 decades. On Tuesday, January 7th, Neil Peart passed away... The news, as you might expect, hit me hard. Music that he had a key hand in, had been an important part of the soundtrack of my life for decades. The words of Rush's music would describe many of the experiences in my life perfectly. Much of it would be a central point of thought for me many times, as I came of age, and stumbled through the years of my early adulthood. It was always something I could go back to. A way to center myself. To try to keep myself calm and see the bigger picture. To be true to myself, when I had lost sight of what that meant. I owe him for that. It is now one of my regrets, that I did not write him while he was alive. To communicate to him how grateful I am. He definitively left the world richer, thanks to his music, and the world is just a little less, for his loss... RIP Neil. And thank you...
