20 Questions for Fic Writers
tagged by @usereddie
How many works do you have on ao3?
14.
What's your total ao3 word count?
102,977
What fandoms do you write for?
911 and once, a lifetime ago, The Raven Cycle.
Top five fics by kudos:
making love to the flashes
maybe love won't let you down
my hearts a secret (tell me you'll keep it)
all i know since yesterday
things you don't say reach me somehow anyway
Do you respond to comments?
i do some of the time! I usually will respond to longer comments if I have something to say.
What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
it's some things fall when they're meant to fall, but i'm incapable of writing angsty endings so now that fic has two more chapters to come and will (spoilers) end happily.
What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
they all have pretty happy endings so it's hard to pick the happiEST ending but maybe things you don't say because that's the only fic I can think of that ends on an actual "I love you."
Do you get hate on fics?
no thankfully! I think i got one semi-rude comment on my first smut fic but that's about it.
Do you write smut?
i sure do.
Craziest crossover:
I don't write crossovers!
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
not that I'm aware of.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
not that I know of!
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
no but I still think about The Ultimatum AU that @colonoscopys and I plotted together in a brief bout of reality TV induced insanity.
All time favorite ship?
it WAS Stucky and they will always hold a very special and sacred place in my heart but honestly...........it's Buddie.
What's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I am full of deranged optimism and truly believe i WILL someday finish all my WIPs :)
right now roommates fic is the one that haunts me the most.
What are your writing strengths?
dialogue, characterization, writing about people pining, moving between different tones (silly, heartfelt, horny, angsty, etc)
What are your writing weaknesses?
writing any kind of scene that's not just two people talking to each other LMAO.
Thoughts on dialogue in another language?
I never write it myself because I only speak one language (😭) but it's cool to see in other fics when it makes sense for the story!
First fandom you wrote in?
Rurouni Kenshin 😊 I was 12.
Favorite fic you've written?
It's a tie between maybe love won't let you down and making love to the flashes. These also happen to be my most popular fics and I feel like it's because you can tell how much fun I had writing them (although two very different kinds of fun).

Love your blog a lot. Thank you for all the Kokichi love! 🥰
Thanks! 😍
Also, YES! Kokichi deserves so much love. He is one of the most underappreciated characters imo.
His time in the manga was short but he shined a lot in it and made a waves. He is cool but dorky - very grim and gritty on the surface but just a sweet softie underneath.
I could talk a lot about him and here is just my list of the main reasons I love him:
MAGITECH I love the concept of magitech - technology powered by magic. They sound contradictory because magic and technology are often presented as opposites of each other in folklore to popular stories. So when a work of fiction harmonize them together, it just feel special imo. Kokichi's entire aesthetic is magitech. His CT is puppet manipulation not robot/tech manipulation. However, he was influenced by, likely, a mecha anime so much that he designed all his puppets to be like robots. His character would not look out-of-place in a sci-fi, cyberpunk, or mecha series.
HE IS A DORK Kokichi named Mechamaru as Mechamaru because of an anime he watched. He made his puppets look like robots, again, because of an anime he liked! He roleplays hard the "cool robot" personality when he is with his friends as Mechamaru. He has cheesy names for all his moves! He named an attack "Pigeon Viola"! OMFG! Had he been blessed with a normal body, Kokichi would be a hardcore cosplayer of robots or mech pilots. He is a fucking theater kid who would believe method acting is the best form of acting! Heavenly Restriction saved Utahime from premature white hairs because I 100% believe Kokichi would have driven her crazy with his antics. He is a closet gremlin menace! *It's so funny to realize that Kokichi is voiced by Kirito's VA. It's fucking perfect.
HE IS A SWEET HEART We all saw the Jujutsu Stroll! He cannot say no to his friends especially Miwa. Some might think he is a pushover for it. But I think it's because he is genuinely nice. His Mechamarus are so detailed?!? If that isn't a labor of love, I don't know what is. Above all else, one of his main motivations in gaining a healthy body is to physically be with his friends - to just have the simple joy of walking side by side with them. HE IS A FUCKING SWEETHEART AND HE DESERVES A LOT OF HUGS!
HE IS A FIGHTER Kokichi took hold of his own fate. He made his own choices and dealt with the consequences accordingly. He went down fighting and giving all he's got despite the odds.
HE IS COMPLEX Kokichi shows rage which is refreshing. Most of the time, ill characters in a story often come in three flavors only: 1) They are gentle and quiet in their acceptance. 2) They are depressed and miserable in silent suffering. 3) They are so ragey that they turned into irredeemable villains. Kokichi was all of that and yet not! 1) He is gentle and quiet with his friends but he is not accepting his shitty fate! 2) He is depressed and miserable but he is vocal about his shitty fate with people (who he didn't want to trouble so much like his friends). 3) He is ragey and a traitor but he knows how to direct his fury properly and he isn't delusional about the consequences of his choices. He was ready for all the baggage that came with his betrayal. ALSO, he didn't become a full blown villain. HE WAS A DOUBLE AGENT... without a handler... or without anyone knowing about it really. It was a self-appointed role okay.
SMALL ROLE, BIG IMPACT Kokichi's choice led to a seismic shift in the world of JJK because it led to the Shibuya Incident.
COOL DESIGN He has a total of three looks. All of which are interesting! 1. PROXY BODY: Mechamaru has a steampunk aesthetic. It has old robot anime vibes that reminds me of Metropolis. 2. ILL BODY: The bandages all over him reminds me of Shishio (Rurouni Kenshin). This design is interesting too because his environment is a vital element as well. It gives him an aura of cold danger and mystery. 3. HEALTHY BODY: Kokichi looks like a young samurai with his hair up in a high pony tail and scar. He looks badass. His facial expressions being in full rage-y displays also how far he is from cold. He is as hot-tempered as any classic shonen MC.
COOL POWERS & SKILLS Puppet manipulation. That's cool. Enough said. His engineering skills? Now that is mindblowing! He had to build all of his puppets! All of them have full range of motion, well balanced, and equipped with weapons. Plus, he had to follow his mecha aesthetics. Accomplishing all of that every time he creates his puppets is amazing! Kokichi is versatile with his CT and combined with his engineering skills and creativity, he is a badass.
MIWAKICHI / KOKISUMI / MECHAMIWA Their relationship is so sweet and tragic. It's so fucking unfair!!! I like how Miwa drew out the best and the worst from Kokichi.
HE IS A REBEL Probably because of how short his time was in the series, many missed the fact that he is just as much of a rebel against jujutsu system as Yuki, Gojo, and Geto were. Yuki - She refused her original role in jujutsu society and forged her own path in ending curses. She rejected the system. Geto - He fought back by becoming a curse user to pursue his own way of eradicating curses. He did not let the brand of a traitor deter him from his path. He left the system. Gojo - He fought back by staying in the system and being a giant nuisance about it by encouraging a new generation to go against the tradition. He chained himself to the system but he is destroying them from within through nurturing of the youth. Kokichi was like Yuki. He rejected the fate the bestowed on him. He refused to die alone in a pool of his own blood. Kokichi was like Geto. He sought another way to achieve his goals and took an opportunity despite being branded as traitor/curse user. Had fate been kinder, I think Kokichi would have ended up following Gojo's path - working in the system and changing it in his own way that would protect the vulnerable. He'd be joining the likes of Yuta and Yuji.

I got tagged
Sorry this is a bit late, I've been really poorly. I'm still feeling a bit crappy but fortunately (or unfortunately might be the case here), I've perked up a little bit.
I was tagged by the amazing @eomma-jpeg <3
Last song: Well according to my Spotify, it is Stuck With You by Huey Lewis & The News: Here
This is one of my favourite love songs ever, it's just so cute and catchy.
Currently reading: Bet you can't guess! haha
It's none other than Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. Its like my favourite novel ever.
Current fic: Right now I'm reading an Aziraphale/Crowley human AU called Recommended Reading by Feral Tuxedo Here. I've just finished rereading Fledging by them too; another human AU where Aziraphale and Crowley are both single parents. Here
I'm also going to reread In The Meadow (A MillNai fanfic) by @eomma-jpeg again at some point too because it's just gorgeous! Here
Currently watching: I'm not particularly watching anything at the moment, although I'm thinking of rewatching Good Omens season 2 again. Got to do my bit make it get a 3rd season! My angel and demon need their happily ever after!
Next on my watchlist: Hmmmm.... I might probably catch up with the new Rurouni Kenshin anime and My Happy Marriage. Also might watch that One Piece movie just because, (I don't even like One Piece) and catch up with that new season of Ragnarok (that Norwegian norse god show).
Current obsession: It's a bit of both Trigun and Good Omens. Probably more Good Omens right now. Just because when I first watched it, I was going through a real bad patch in my life. It was the one thing I really got into, after reaching a point where I thought I couldn't enjoy anything anymore. It turned my lifeless shell into something a bit more well alive! So it holds a very special place in my heart.
As for Trigun, liking it has led me to re-enter the trepid waters of Tumblr and I've made friends with some really awesome people. One of said people has tagged me in this here thingie. Also, Vash will forever be one of my favourite characters, I see a lot of myself reflected in him. He's always going to be my blorbo, along with Meryl, Milly and Knives (and Wolfwood god rest his soul).
As for my tags I don't have many friends (unless you count all the bots) so I'll just tag the followers I think might be actual people: @veilder @stradivariholmes @suwisuwii and @maulsveenus
Can I also tag @eomma-jpeg again too? Haha

man, i couldn't tell you what my all time favorite manga is. I love Saiyuki and the characters, that they're all assholes but they're also all family even though they scream about trying to kill each other. Ghost Hunt was my most beloved in high school, the art genuinely spooked me a couple times (that one Urado scene with the eyes still gives me heebie jeebies) and I still reread it. 07-Ghost was the first manga I bought and owned for myself and though I've never finished it, it still is so special as my First Owned. Rurouni Kenshin has such a fantastic story even though I wish Kaoru was more than a delegated damsel who got fake fridged to move the plot along. Dandadan is balls off the walls funky and fun. Kaiju No8 is the BIGGEST found family in a war right now and it has the typical deus ex SUPER ABILITIES ACTIVATED THROUGH FRIENDSHIP AND RIVALRY but damn if I dont absolutely adore Kafka.
There's just way too much manga that I absolutely adore in different ways. YuYu Hakusho is absolutely a classic, Beast Master was another of my First Owned... I couldn't give you a solid yes to my favorite manga ever. They all have their place in my heart.

Top 4 Fic Recs
If I could only read four fics per fandom for the rest of my life, I would choose these.
Under the cut are recs for Danny Phantom, Daredevil, House M.D. Rurouni Kenshin, Sherlock Holmes, Supernatural, and Thor, though I may add more later.
Danny Phantom
The Disparaged Series by imekitty (gen, rated T) Long
Maddie Fenton’s obsessive quest to capture Danny Phantom brings disastrous consequences.
A recent take on the classic “dissection fic”, with Danny/Maddie’s relationship at the center of it. The first two fics in the series are complete, and the third is currently being updated monthly.  The author skirts the limits of the readers comfort in an absolutely fascinating way which would not work in a lesser authors hands. I’ve been loyally following it for a couple years now and I find that I’ve never had to reread a previous chapter in order to remember whats going on. It’s very memorable.
Masks by Cordria (Gen, rated K+) Mid-Length
Sometimes, people hide who they truly are behind masks. This is a short story about the day that Lancer decides enough is enough when it comes to Daniel Fenton. Sequel is 'Plunge'.
It feels a little blasphemous to pick this Cordria fic when they have many, far more iconic fics to choose from (*cough* PITS) but this one just holds a special place in my heart.
Phantom of Truth by HaiJu (gen, rated T) Long
Locked away in a secret government lab with Phantom as her subject, nothing stands between Maddie and the truth... except, perhaps, herself.
Everyone and their mother recommends this fic, and that’s because it fucks severely. There’s a complete sequel now, but I find that I prefer this fic over it. The progression of Danny and Maddie’s relationship is titilating, you’re constantly on your toes wondering how he’ll make it out of this situation half-alive.
What A Nice Surprise by DarkNymfa (gen, rated T) Long
A ghost and two ghost hunters, sitting around. Like a family. Which they were, but, well. The other two didn’t know that. --- AKA the story of how the Fentons accidentally adopt their own son.
In a fandom full of fucked up and sad fic, it’s nice to have this cute, fluffy series to come back to at the end of the day.
Daredevil
Lucky Devil by ChuckleVoodoos (Matt/Foggy, rated T) Mid-Length
Matt gets caught, Foggy gets a clue, and cases get won.
Emotionally intimate, loving and believable. I’ve read this fic a thousand times and can never look away once I’ve started it.
Of Monstrous Shape by RosaLui (Gen, rated M) Short
“Put me in the ring,” Matt said. His glasses were cracked like a spider’s web, and in the shifting shadows it looked as if he was raising hackles in disgust.
“The House doesn’t profit from quick deaths,” said the jailor.
This fic is dark, violent, dramatic, and insanely engrossing.  The author deftly paints the world of Daredevil and I am always in particular gripped by the climax.
Trial and Error by shyday (Gen, rated T) Mid-Length
'You're a lot of scary adverbs right now, my friend. Trust me when I say that "fine" is not one of them.'
This author loves to get into Matt Murdock’s head and imagine the world the way he perceives it, and they do it very well. Each fic of theirs is a sensory trip, but this one is my favorite. Very strong dialogue between Matt and Foggy as well.
Trust: Handle With Care by ceterisparibus (Matt/Karen, rated M) Long
Matt and Foggy's new client is a mother whose son was sexually abused by a priest.
This is a fic that deals with the heavy topic of abuse in the Catholic Church, but if you are able to stomach that it is an expertly executed fic. Not many authors would be able to craft a fic like this, but you can tell that every aspect of it comes from a place of deep personal knowledge and care. Also, the author is a lawyer, which is a rare treat in that the legal case is legit.
House M.D.
Codependency by debbiel (Hilson-ish, rated PG) Short
It was the sort of diagnosis that wouldn't rate a sad-face on his whiteboard.  And yet it could change everything.
I’m a huge sucker for the premise of this fic, but none that I’ve found have hit quite like this one. Like a soulmate au, but more poignant ;)
Down to the Water by Blackmare (Gen, rated PG-13) Short
After Amber’s death, House and Wilson try to figure out their place in eachother’s lives.
So many little moments of this fic have stuck with me over the last decade, it’s quiet and beautifully melancholy. There’s a sequel as well which you can find on blackmare’s profile.
The Open Road by Pun (Hilson, rated M) Mid-Length
Wilson goes along for the ride.
Another road trip fic! This one is how I used to imagine the show would end, and somehow in the end it.. kind of was. This is still better.
Two Solitudes by mer_duff (Gen, rated PG) Short
"You were protecting me," House snapped.  "What would you have done if he'd had a gun?  Stood there and taken the bullet?" Wilson shrugged.  "Better me than you."
A short exploration of Wilson’s tendency towards self-sacrificial protectiveness for House. I come back to this fic constantly.
Rurouni Kenshin
An Unexpected Lesson by Conspirator (Gen, rated PG-13) Long
Three years after the end of the Bakumatsu, a chance encounter with a kabuki troupe teaches Kenshin an unexpected lesson in survival.
A wandering era fic that gives us a window into what might have aided Kenshin in developing his “bumbling rurouni” act. I’ve read it a hundred times over the years, it is a great story with believable OCs and balance of humor and drama.
Out of Time by Siriusfan13 (Gen, rated PG-13) Long
During a trip to Kyoto with his friends, Himura Kenshin winds up in deep water... thirteen years in the past. How will Kenshin deal with the Revolution again? And how will his friends deal with Battousai, who has traded places with him?
This is such an earnest and loving study of Kenshin, who is my all time favorite character. This is certainly in my top fics of all time, and shares a  similar premise to my other favorite fanfiction Bargaining, which just goes to show I have consistent taste lol.
Recovery by hakubaikou (Gen, rated T) Long
As Kenshin recovers from his wounds after his duel with Shishio, his friends sense a threat and take precautions for his safety. Complete.
Kenshins characterization rings absolutely dead on and the tone in general is like canon . This fic always feels like a warm hug to me, and I come back to it often. Hakubaikou was an amazing writer and she is missed every day, I’m so happy she shared her work with us.
Twelfth Knight by an_earl (Gen, rated T) Long
A bloody street-side massacre has been identified by Saito as the product of Hiten Mitsurugi Ryu. There are two suspects: Himura Kenshin and his master Hiko Seijuro the Thirteenth. Unbeknownst to them, a third user of their exalted style has time travelled to the future: Hiko Seijuro the Twelfth.
A fic about mistaken identity inspired by Shakespeare's Twelfth Night.
An ongoing fic that reads like a fandom classic (and I mean that very, very affectionately). The author’s Saito/Kenshin interactions absolutely crackle.
Sherlock Holmes
Bel Canto by bendingsignpost (Johnlock, rated T) Long
After years of waiting for wealthy patrons to faint, Dr John Watson discovers a far more interesting patient in the opera house basement. (AU through a Phantom of the Opera lens.)
The Phantom of the Opera AU I hold all others to as a standard. So delightful and entertaining.
How Sherlock Holmes Was Compelled to Remember One Festive Occasion Per Year:  A Reminiscence by John H. Watson, MD  by MirithGriffin (Johnlock, rated M) Short
Known to the SH fandom as The Turkish Bathhouse Fic. Charming as hell with ACD canon flavor, reading this fic has become a Christmas tradition for me.
Particular Peculiarity by saavik13 (Johnlock, rated M) Long
“How high is your regard for me, Watson?” He asked abruptly, his eyes still trained on the fire.  “If I were to confess my darkest secret would you leave? Would you abandon me here to my melancholy?”
A case forces Holmes to reveal the truth to Watson and risks both their reputations and their liberty.  Just how understanding is John Watson?
An obviously well researched and beautifully characterized fic. It feels very Granada in Holmes’ mannerisms, though it can be read as ACD or Granada. This fic is like a warm cup of tea on a cold day to me.
The Quiet Man by ivyblossom (Johnlock, rated E) Long
"Do you just carry on talking when I'm away?"
This is a BBC fic, as opposed to the rest on my list. It’s well worth the read though, ivy’s prose is so organic. It was a fandom classic for good reason.
Supernatural
a turn of the earth by microcomets (Destiel, rated M) Long
Dean’s your typical half-orphaned, monster-killing 22-year-old until a trenchcoated stranger crashes into his back windshield one September night, claiming he’s an angel that knows him from the future and that he’s on the run. Frigging fantastic.
(Or, in which Castiel gets stuck in Dean’s timeline preseries and Dean kind of hates it—until he doesn’t.)
This fic is overflowing with love, desire, longing and loneliness . It’s a time-traveling Cas fic which is something of a trope in this fandom these days, but the premise of Cas being dead by the time he meets a young Dean just lends something special to it.
I CARRY YOUR HEART (I CARRY IT IN MY HEART) by unicornpoe (Destiel, rated E)
“Take me,” Dean says. He doesn’t have to think about it. “Take me as your vessel, Cas.”
or: Cas is cursed into an endless sleep. Dean offers himself up as his vessel while they try to break it.
Compassionate, tender, and full of evocative imagery. It’s about being taken care of, and the act of caring for another.
Phantom Load by lovesrain44 (Gen, rated M) Long
Dean and Sam return to Boulder, CO, where they investigate a haunted school. The job seems simple enough to Sam, who has good, although vague, memories of living in Boulder back in 1992. Dean, however, has altogether different memories, far less pleasant and far more damaging.
Quiet, moving, and melancholy. The past-present scenes are woven together very well. Subtle where it needed to be. Just an amazing fanfic, though it deals with some possibly upsetting subject matter which is presented up front in the warning section.
So Says The Sword by komodobits (Destiel, rated E) Long
Castiel doesn’t mind working security duty; he was briefed shortly after the initial salvation of the Sword from the pit, and again before taking up his position. He knows what to do. However, it’s easy to forget that the green room isn’t real. Time moves differently there, the space ever-changing to make a prison of mountains, cathedrals, salt flats, orchards, and whatever Castiel was led to believe about Heaven’s greatest weapon—Dean Winchester is something entirely unexpected.
Original, dazzling and creative, komodobits was an absolute force in this fandom. They took it upon themself to recreate the entire Destiel relationship timeline, and did so beautifully.
Thor
Bargaining by Proantagonist (Gen, rated T) Long
Faced with an eternity without his brother, Loki strikes a bargain to change the past. Post TDW.
This is a near-perfect fanfic, and one of the most emotionally satisfying stories I’ve ever read. Cannot stress enough how much this fic means to me, it’s possibly my favorite fanfic of all time.
Mirror, Mirror by Lise (Gen, rated T) Mid-Length
While poking around in corners of the palace, Loki finds a peculiar mirror that doesn't show his reflection.
It’s clear that I love Loki’s various issues, and this fic puts an industrial spotlight on them.
Slow Poison by Mikkeneko (Gen, rated T) Mid-Length
Years before the events of Thor and Avengers, Loki is working as a spymaster for his father the King. Or at least... that's what he  thinks he's doing.
I love miscommunication and fucked up family dynamics. This fic is like a friend to me.

So this is really late (like, several years late), but I finally got a chance to go through the final season of Telltale’s The Walking Dead. I stopped around season 3, but only because my life got busy and I don’t really have time for games now. I also just watch movies and TV nowadays, gaming just isn’t as interesting to me anymore. But I finally got through Clementine’s final outing. Here are my highlights:
1) Definitely shot Lilly instead of sparing her. I mean, I get the reason why the game wanted AJ to spare her, but I didn’t trust Lilly enough to not immediately turn against the group. I feel like I made the right choice anyways since apparently, she kills James with the spare option.
2) I picked Louis over Violet. Before anyone says anything about homophobia, hear me out. I picked Louis because I felt that he had better chemistry for Clementine, especially with how Clem’s arc was unfolding. The whole season was about Clementine finding a place where she can finally live in peace and not have to run anymore. A hardened warrior finding peace and putting their weapons away for good (so...Rurouni Kenshin).
So with that in mind, I felt that Louis was better for her arc since he represents that sort of peace the game was going for. He was funny, relaxed, and always tried to look at the bright side of life. I felt that sort of happy-go-lucky energy was what Clementine needed and what suited her story arc better.
I get why people go for Violet but to me, she seemed more like a kindred soul. Someone who Clem can relate to since they’re both hardened survivors who don’t want to let their guard down. It just felt more natural to pair Clem up with the happy, down-to-earth funny guy, at least from how I was playing.
3) Based on point 2, it’s pretty obvious that I chose to save Louis over Violet. I mean, it’d be awkward if I didn’t.
4) I tried to balance AJ’s lessons. Be ruthless when you need to be, but show mercy when you can. That being said, I did trust him to make his calls, so unfortunately, Tenn died in my playthrough.
5) Even though it’s been YEARS since I’ve played the game, I still remembered that I chose to kill Lee. I didn’t want him to turn, he didn’t deserve that fate. What I’m trying to say is, I had AJ “kill” Clementine. Of course, thank god that he just chopped Clem’s leg, but I still didn’t want AJ to have to live with the fact that he let Clementine turn.
Anyways, brilliant final season. If I had to rank all four seasons, I’d have it like this: 1> 4 > 3 > 2.
1 will always have a special place in my heart since that was the first game that ever made me cry.
4 was just brilliant from beginning to end.
3 was surprisingly more cohesive and engaging the second time around.
2 was just all over the place with the writing, especially with the second half of the season.

As a girl who loves anime, I have to say Himura Kenshin had a special place in my heart. He is one of the best characters in my opinion, a little psycho who is trying to do his best no matter what it costs to him.
I am not a type of person who supports Kenshin and Tomoe, since it seems really toxic to me, but still his love for Tomoe was pure and she taught a lot to Kenshin. I fully cheer Kaoru and her approach to Kenshin, their relationship and emotions.. Goddamnit, I love them so much.
I wish to drop a note here, so I will not forget. After I finish my ongoing projects, I am definitely going to write a story on Himura Kenshin's which will focus not only aftermath of Shishio but also on the years between three important turning points of Kenshin's past: Tomoe, the end of Bakumatsu and meeting with Kaoru as flashbacks. I wonder how would it be, I mean the constant shifting between Rurouni and reluctant Battosai.
Damn you, Himura Kenshin.
And also damn you, Takeru Satoh. I cannot overcome your beauty.

Rurouni Kenshin has always had a special place in my heart as I knew of it long before I actually got into anime and appreciated the medium. I am very glad to have watched it and I love Kenshin as a person and character. He went through a lot and made many mistakes however he strived to learn from them and change his heart. It is a lovely show and I enjoyed painting this piece of Kenshin which I feel captures his character.

is there any good romance anime you would recommend?
Oh yes, SO MANY!
There are some great shoujo classics out there. I love love love Kimi ni Todoke. Skip Beat! and Fruits Basket are wonderful as well. I’ve started Lovely Complex, which is now on Crunchyroll after all these years, and it’s beloved also. And though they’re not shounen, Rumiko Takahashi’s series are full of romance—Maison Ikkoku is my favorite.
Tumblr media
If you’re looking for romantic comedies, something light and fluffy, there are a billion of those out there. A lot of these shows lose my attention, but some keep me hanging on. Recent ones include The Quintessential Quintuplets, Kaguya-sama: Love is War, Rainbow Days (which is super average but I liked it anyway—a lot of those I’ll be recommending fall into that category), Rainbow Days, and I’ve Always Liked You. Just a little older than those are the Working!! series, Nisekoi, and Love, Chuunibyou, and Other Delusions. Recovery of an MMO Junkie is also recent and is really high quality, very funny, and features adult characters. Some classics include Love Hina, Nodame Cantabile, Kimagure Orange Road, Cardcaptor Sakura (the recent Clear Card Arc is where everything gets into gear); other older series I wouldn’t say are classics, but are fun anyway, are D.N.Angel, Tokimeki Memorial High, and the first seasons of La Corda D’Oro and To Heart.
Tumblr media
If you want something a little more dramatic (though the shows above all have drama and most of the ones that follow contain lots of comedy), look to Key series like Clannad (After Story is worth the 39 episodes of build-up) and Kanon, and other series likeTsuki ga Kirei, ReLIFE,Just Because, Suzuka (despite MCs that are hard to like),and Your Lie in April. Some that go into the fantasy and sci-fi genres are The Ancient Magus Bride, Engaged to the Unidentifiedand Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai. A couple that I’m just okay with, but which some love, are Golden Time, Ao Haru Ride, and Amagami SS.
Tumblr media
The shows above can get pretty deep, but these following ones particularly also go to interesting places: Oregairu moves from standard fare to “something genuine”; Toradora is a mix of shounen, romance, and character study; Snow White with the Red Hair  features characters unusual in anime for their maturity; Honey and Clover (and from the same creator, March Comes Like a Lion, which is less heavy on romance) isn’t afraid to tackle the difficulties of growing up; After the Rain might make you feel icky, but it’ll also challenge you (and it’s beautifully animated); and Rurouni Kenshin: Tsuiokuhen is an epic and unforgiving backstory to a lighter series.
Tumblr media
There are of course so many great romance movies. Ghibli does romance well, particularly in Whisper of the Heart, Ocean Waves, and Only Yesterday. Makoto Shinkai is known for his romantic films like Weathering with You and 5 cm per Second, though I think the best developed romances of his are in Your Name, The Place Promised in Our Early Days, and particularly in two short films / pieces: Voices of a Distant Star and Garden of Words. Other movies with loves stories include A Silent Voice, Patema Inverted, Fireworks, and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time.
Tumblr media
Finally, we realize that most anime MUST include romance, even if it’s not a primary focus. There are a few series that do this very well, like Genshiken, Silver Spoon, Cross Game, Escaflowne, Chihayafuru, and Full Metal Panic! The Perfect Insider and Cowboy Bebop are not romantic…but the couples in the shows have really interesting relationships.
Tumblr media
I hope that’ll get you started, Anon! I missed a bunch of well-known romance series, but these are special to me, and I hope you’ll fine one or two, at least, that become special to you!

Fic Writer Questions
Fic Writer Questions!
Tagged by @fandom-hoarder
1) How many works do you have on AO3?
On Ao3 I have 24, but that’s a fraction of all the fics I’ve ever written that are now deleted or lost on the ancient world of yahoo webrings.
2) What's your total AO3 word count?
800,044 (but it’ll be ALOT more than that)
3) How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
Oh so many. Lemme think in order I’ve done Pokemon, StarGate SG.1, Kyou Kara Maou, Rurouni Kenshin, Yu Yu Hakusho, Fruits Basket, Harry Potter, X-Men: First Class, The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords, Vikings, Black Sails, The Witcher, Good Omens, Supernatural...and I’m sure I’m missing some others.
4) What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
-) Guardian of the Soulless - My Witcher fic, Geralt/Jaskier, and my favourite fic I’ve ever written.
-) The Impatient Snugglebug - A very old Harry Potter fic, Harry/Draco.
-) We Met At The Park - My X-Men Erik/Charles fic that shot me into fandom fame, where the now world famous @fahrlightloki cosplayed my Charles.
-) To The Stars - My Good Omens fic, Crowley/Aziraphale, based on the movie Titanic.
-)  Final Night - One of my very rare short fics, for Vikings, Ragnar/Athelstan.
5) Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
I do respond, cos I believe it’s the right thing to do.
6) What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?
I don’t write angsty endings.  I have angst and drama in the fic itself, but everything always has a happy ending. Though I suppose final night kinda had one but that’s only because it’s a fic that is written within an episode and the episode didn’t end well.
7) What's the fic you've written with the happiest ending?
THEY’RE ALL HAPPY! They also all end in weddings, like, all of them. I had a certain plot in all my fics that I found appeals so well to everyone so I write the same outline in different fandoms and it always 100% works.
8) Do you write crossovers? If so what is the craziest one you've written?
I did for the X-Men fandom, I wrote a few crossovers with the other films that Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy were in.  The craziest one I did was unfinished and called The Xavier Brothers Household, where I took a bunch of James McAvoys characters from other things and made them all brothers to Charles.  It was crazy.
9) Have you ever received hate on a fic?
The odd one here and there, but nothing major.
10) Do you write smut? If so what kind?
I do, an it’s always hot and heavy and very romantic.
11) Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Yes, see the below answer.
12) Have you ever had a fic translated?
Pretty much all of them until my most recent Bad Reputation one, but then I stopped saying yes to people who asked because I always asked them to send me a link to where it’s posted and they wouldn’t and I’d find it myself and it’d be under their name with no mention of me or a link to the original fic, so I stopped saying yes.
13) Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No.
14) What's your all time favorite ship?
That’s impossible to answer there have been so many, but I think the first one you have is one you can always fall back on, especially when you’re between fandoms, so I still find myself picturing Jessie and James from Pokemon ^_^
15) What's a WIP that you want to finish but don't think you ever will?
There’s very few fics I’ve never finished, only in the early days never anything recent.  There was a Harry Potter drarry fic of mine called Openly Confused, which isn’t even on AO3 but I think it’s still on my fanfiction.net account. I’d got to the last chapter and lost all interest in it and never finished it.
16) What are your writing strengths?
I like to think anything romantic. I could spend pages, and HAVE, with one character just thinking about the other.
17) What are your writing weaknesses?
I’m not the best writer I don’t know too many big descriptive words and such so my writing is very basic.  I’ve been told that alot. But also been told that people like that cos they can get lost in the feelings rather than the imagery, and I’ve also been told that people who don’t have english as their first language enjoy my fics cos they’re easy to read, so it is a weakness, but it had a plus side too.
18) What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
As I don’t speak any other language, that’s never come up.
19) What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Pokemon. Rocketshipping. Most of my fics are still out there on what’s left of the yahoo webrings.  I found most of them still up on an angelfire site, they were written in 1997/8 and are the most corny crappiest pieces of writing I have ever read lol Yet I still remember being so proud of them at the time.  They’re here if you’re interested, just do Ctrl F and search for starrose and it’ll take you to them.
20) What's your favorite fic you've written?
Definitely Guardian of the Soulless.  Why? I couldn’t really tell you, I guess I’m just really proud of the story I did, of the relationship growing between Geralt and Jaskier.  And the bomb at the wedding scene, my God I’d never written anything so intense, and the shootout near the end, so much blood omg it was really outside my comfort zone and from the feedback I got I think I did really well.
Having said that, all of my long fics hold special places in my heart. My Black Sails fic L/S: I Will Stand Here With You, Flint/Silver, had the most amount of porn I have ever written in a fic before lol It was my longest ever fic at 165,104 words.
My x-men fic We Met At The Park got super famous in the fandom, had so much fanart done for it, and of course the cosplaying mentioned up above.
And of course a shout out to my most recent fic Bad Reputation, which has become my comfort love since I began it in February.  My version of Jared and Jensen live rent free in my head, they’re all I currently think about, even more than Sam and Dean.
Now as for tagging, I don’t actually read fic that much, so anyone whose a fic writer and reading this, feel free to tell the world about your fics!

We’re you ever into Bleach, Naruto, etc?
I actually started reading manga with Naruto. I got a Shonen Jump Magazine and that was my favorite story for quite sometime. I have the first four volumes still. I stopped reading half way through the Chunin Exams, but I've looked up what happened just to see how things ended, and I've watched videos on it occasionally. I don't know if I'd ever go back and read everything or watch the anime because it's a massive amount of material, but it holds a special place in my heart as my first Manga series. It also got me into reading in general so I'm super grateful for that!
I was in love with Bleach as soon as I read the first chapter. It's probably the only Manga I started reading from chapter one (most I find after they've already had an Arc or two). I adored the art style and the concept was super interesting. I did eventually fall off of reading it after the Ulquiorra fight. I still remember it fondly though, even if I think it sort of forgot it's most interesting concept almost immediately. It had a lot of problems, but it's still super nostalgic for me and honestly I have only good memories of it, even if I know it didn't end very well.
Plus it had this guy--
Tumblr media
Love this dude! He was an absolute trash fire of a person but I loved him so much! You can kind of see where my love of Stain came from looking at him. Like his character came the closest to bring back the original concept I found so interesting so he was my trash baby for the series, even after he died😭.
Also has one of the sexiest character designs ever in my opinion--
Tumblr media
Look at him--he's gorgeous! And the Japanese anime gave him the best voice actor! Like his voice is as much a part of his character for me as his design--I can still hear it in my head even though I haven't watch anything with him for years.
As for other anime/manga, I was into, Full Metal Alchemist was a big one. I also was into this one called Samurai Deeper Kyo, which I have like 16 volumes for but do not remember anything about anymore, except that it was a sexist trash fire with badly drawn boobs. I have a couple volumes of Fruits Basket and I keep meaning to watch the new Anime but the time never feels right for some stupid reason. Loved the Trigun Anime even though it changed nearly everything from the Manga.
Also, as much as it's been ruined for me I can't omit that Rurouni Kenshin was my first Anime/Manga, and I loved that thing so much as kid. It physically pains me that I can't look at it and feel the same way I used to about it because the story was really good and the themes were written out so well. I often want to use it as an example of how bnha could have handled something but I don't because the author did horrible shit and I feel bad just comparing his work with another favorably.

💕?
Top two favorite fictional characters:
This is a hard one because narrowing down these characters whom I've grown to love is... well.
Allowing for Death of the Author a bit, one of my favorites has always been Kenshin Himura from Rurouni Kenshin. Sadly with what's gone on with the author it's soured me to the new stuff in that fandom but at the same time it has a special place in my heart.
But narrowing things down to a second favorite... there are so many, and for so many different reasons. Rhysand (ACoTaR). Joker (Batman). Sephiroth (FF7). Tony Stark (MCU). Snape (HP). Riku (KH). Kratos (ToS). Elrond (LotR). Regis (Witcher). Numair (Tortall). Briar (Circle of Magic). Giles (BtVS). Zuko (AtLA). Flawed men. Mostly quiet men, or at least private men. I may not agree with the path many have chosen or their actions, but I find them to be the characters I end up watching for.

@furrymakerkid asked:  writing request for you sweet mun. Minato was too smart to know no feeling was good. How did he cope with it? He didn't have Jiraiya Kushina or his team in the beginning.
Here’s a short answer: He didn’t.
Warning: Kinda dark and maybe NSFW if you squint. Possible triggers may include blood, gore and morbidity [it’s war, ne? Although I’ve restrained my descriptions...er, tried to. I hope you can read it, @furrymakerkid]
Disclaimer: This is my interpretation. Yours may be different and that’s okay - to each their own.

Tumblr media
The trees whispered in soft, breathy murmurs as a gentle wind meandered past their many, leaf laden branches. All was calm, almost eerily silent sans the constant patter of boots against the bare crumble of rock; hushed whispers that were broken by the faint whistle of weapons and the occasional intake of breath. The usually relentless, rough soil was wet, almost muddy; yet there had been no downpour in weeks.
The land of Tsuchi no Kuni wept, while the heavens above bled. The glowing embryo of the sun surrendered to a cocoon of fluffy cumulus, lofty rays bleeding shades of red and orange across the darkening skies as a massacre quietly unfolded below; a beautiful painting, if only in the nature of its innate, organized chaos.
It would be nightfall soon.
“...”
It didn’t matter who raided which settlement first. What mattered was the fact that both sides had to keep an even body count. The dictum regarding warfare they were taught in the academy hardly covered such tactics; a few measly lectures so that bright eyed academy students wouldn’t take the trade less seriously.
It was all fun and games until someone lost a limb on their first field mission. Minato, in that regards, had been rather lucky. Where most cadets would rely on a team to ensure the success of a raid, all he needed was a handful of kunai.
He had always been ridiculously fast - even by regular standards.
The metal loop settled comfortably against his palm as tan digits curled around the hilt, seamlessly pushing it through with one, smooth movement before wrenching the weapon sideways, slicing the unexpected chest like one would tear open a package. Bloodied entrails followed the blade’s wake; peeking out of the soft folds of uneven, torn skin as the still pumping organ convulsed uselessly against twisting branches.
It was a quick execution; a means he had devised after their last field run. The metal loop of his kunai swung easily around his index finger as the waste was swiped off with a sharp flick of the wrist. Blue hues barely caught the woman’s expression as she dropped to her knees; he was already moving, the chakra signatures from his earlier sensory scan twinkling like quaint little targets.
They would be quick kills, for Minato hardly had the time for mercy. A kunai through the eye for anyone stupid enough to look his way, the splattered remains of a skull of a nin ambitious enough to try and sneak up on him, whereas most of the others barely got a chance to blink before deft digits pierced their forms with relative ease. Pure chakra would bounce off his skin like a controlled gale, as his natural wind affinity reduced muscle to fleshy ribbons.
It wasn’t needlessly cruel, per se; it simply happened to be the most effective in ensuring a kill. Besides, he had stopped feeling the warmth of skewered innards ages ago.
“Kami willing may you choke on your own blood”
The words drifted into the faint breeze that swept past their drenched fields; the scent of copper and compost intermingled into a sickly fragrance which sunk into his skin, down to his very bones.
Kami willing? As if Kami existed for people like them.
And then he heard it; a constant low hum that swelled to a certain crescendo, painting his subconscious in a murmur of static. Minato blinked curiously at his quivering fingers before casting a furtive glance around the field of littered innards and crimson. Hardly a soul in sight and yet...trailing off, blue hues returned to the tremble that had somehow seeped into his wrist. He couldn’t feel the slash decorating his palm, but he could definitely see the discoloration associated with poisoned weapons. Ugly strokes of yellows and blues bloomed all over his hand like pale, deathly flowers and he nearly dropped his weapon.
Fuck.
-------------------
“Er...it wasn’t your first kill, was it?” The question was asked nonchalantly enough, as practiced hands wound a roll of gauze around his discoloured counterpart. Minato shot him a flat, unimpressed look which was met with a barely concealed smirk as he tied both ends with a vicious tug.
“I mean...you never get injured.” He continued, as Minato retracted his hand, giving it an experimental poke. “Lucky for you, you got back in time otherwise you’d lose your good arm.”
He was making fun of him, wasn’t he? “Yeah. Lucky.” the blond replied, tone as dry as the man’s wit before he curled his bandaged digits, “What about the hallucinogenic side effects?”
Would it have even mattered if it had been his first kill? The nin had been alive one moment and then he just…hadn’t. Was he supposed to feel something special about that? Besides, he had attacked Minato first.
Regardless. It had been so long ago, he hardly remembered the face associated with the deed. Since his deployment at Kusa, he had killed so many more with seldom a thought that he couldn’t be bothered to remember what they looked like. His last count had been, what, thirty three consecutive solo kills in thirty minutes? That was more than one life a minute.
Mere statistics. It didn’t matter.
“Noise huh? It's the first I'm hearing of it.” Cue the methodical tap of wood against an unshaven chin, “Say, ever considered signing up for the psych evaluation thing they proposed back at HQ? I mean...there's nothing physically wrong with you. Maybe it's in your head." He placed his brush down on the makeshift table before letting out a snort, much to Minato’s chagrin.
“If what they’ve been harping about at HQ was true, we’d all be classified as nuts anyways.” The medic laughed, his grey hair reflecting warm honey in the dim lighting of the medical tent. Bemused, he took off his glasses to wipe a tear, before shooing him away with gloved digits. “Get going, Namikaze. We need you on the patrolling grounds. The war will be over soon, ne?”
Coloured hues met dark counterparts, bleeding ink and whispering false nothings.
“Ne?”
-------------------
Hours turned into days, days turned into weeks, and the persistent whine in his head refused to shut up. Many an evening would witness the blond shifting his reading scroll to the side, just to press rough finger pads against his closed, burning lids.
He couldn’t recall the last time he had slept. Granted, Minato wasn’t one to sleep much to begin with; he was young, ridiculously curious and had the collective energy of twelve hyperactive gerbils. Still, he had always managed to clock in a few hours before, but this...
It was so damn loud. Minato couldn’t even concentrate for more than a few minutes before the constant low hum poked at his subconscious like a poisoned senbon. It tore at his mental-scape and sensory peripheral akin to flames consuming dry bark. Gone was his natural, healthy tan that had stayed resolute despite their meagre military rations, only to be replaced by a yellowish pallor, along with dark smudges underneath his weary hues.
A part of him was tempted to write to Jiraiya; the man always had answers to all the questions. They were in contact, of course, despite the state of the war and whatnot. Courier runs were few, but very dependable - but could he really divert the Jōnin’s attention from the frontlines where he was undoubtedly needed?
No, he couldn’t be that childish. Their local medic had dismissed his concerns too, so clearly it wasn’t that big a deal.
Right?
His seniors had different answers. Some blamed the weather, some considered the possibility that an enemy had contaminated their food supply [“I’ve been feeling kinda itchy myself.”] While some had nothing to offer at all. No answers. They figured he was finally losing his mind, after killing so many - in fact, most were still wary of him since even the older Chunin in their unit showed a little hesitance when it came to those child scouts who were no older than academy students.
But Minato? He operated on autopilot. For someone so young and without a hint of malice on his features, he was surprisingly cold hearted. Most of the new Chunin cadets steered well away from him, either in awe or fear whereas his older, more experienced counterparts often regarded him with complacent silence.
Not exactly friends, but comrades. They could probably share a few drinks together. Not converse though. Perish the thought.
The constant, low drone was driving him mad.
Arizuwa Yana; an experienced Chunin from the reserve strike unit apparently had a few theories. Said theories were dry at best, with little speculation as to the nuance of phantom sensations, though with plenty of promises of actual sensations.
Somehow, one thing had led to another and they had ended up intertwined together in one of the darker corners of the many, many tents in their unit. He was a few years younger than her, but apparently that wasn’t a problem.
Age didn't matter, gender didn't matter - nothing did.
The problem was that despite the hands ghosting his clothed sides, he still couldn’t feel anything; it was like his insides were frozen with nothing sans the constant thrum of sound for company. A frown settled between his brows at the thought as slender, yet calloused fingers tangled themselves within his hair, tugging with an odd sort of insistence.
It did nothing to quell the static he alone could still hear, could practically sense crawling under his skin like wild, feverish ants.
Static. It seemed that was the only thing he could feel these days.
And this…this wasn’t helping. Blue hues flickered to dark, older counterparts before tan digits removed themselves from the soft swell of her pretty face. “I’m sorry, senpai.” Is all he managed to say, not really sorry at all before the same fingers found her forehead, jutsu a mere whisper against her flushed skin.
Yana senpai was out cold in the span of a heartbeat. Dull orbs stared at her peaceful features for a few precious seconds before he rolled over, gaze fixed on the sloping ceiling and a forearm resting against his forehead.
Maa...what a waste.
-------------------
Jiraiya sensei,
How are things at the front lines? Yuuhei taicho told us that Amegakure had officially joined the fray and you would be deployed there soon. Gambatte, sensei.
Ano…sensei, I don’t know what’s wrong with me but I’ve stopped feeling things. It started out as a weird sort of numbness, as if I was looking at the world through someone else’s eyes. I don’t even feel the sting of a cut anymore.
I’m scared. Is this a good thing? Oh by the way, you won’t believe what I found about that fuuin combination you told me about that one time. If it’s truly what you say it is, the Nindaime might have been on to something. See, if you swap the earth and wind constructs then the combination gets altered. I tried something with one of my fuuin tags today and the results were kinda wonky but in a good way. Let me know when you get this and I’ll send you all the workings I did.
Minato
He purposefully left out the bit where a part of him wanted to hide behind the elder, shaggy white mane and all, and stay in the comfort of his towering shadow. He had wanted to, though - desperately, too. But his writing brush had paused, a lone drop of ink blotting the parchment and upsetting his neat signature.
That had decided it then, hadn’t it? Gloved digits had rolled the parchment in a neat scroll, bound it with a convenient little fuuin and handed it in for the next courier run.
His paranoia was silly. Kusa was one of their priority outposts; full of experienced comrades and they were armed to the teeth. They were as safe as they would ever be. Besides, he had a near perfect kill streak - no one in their right wits would target him; Konoha’s number one rookie genius.
He felt so horribly alone though.
You’re not a child anymore, Minato.
-------------------
Three weeks. No reply. The constant fighting was taking its toll on all sides; with dwindling numbers and increased recklessness. Their tiny little outpost presently served as the main rendezvous point between the frontlines fighting Iwa and the reserve forces that had set up camp a few miles away. The war would enter its final phase soon and everyone was too bone tired to complain.
Minato wanted to send another message, but if Jiraiya hadn’t had the time to respond to his previous letter…
Sigh. Clothed shoulders sagged a little while the side of his face met loosely curled digits, expression forlorn. Next to him, Inuzuka Saito quirked an eyebrow but said nothing. They were both stuck with watch duty, in case the platoon that had been sent out to assist their frontlines against Iwa a few days ago came stumbling back.
Initially, Minato had been a part of it too, but Yuuhei taicho had ordered otherwise. He and a few others would be used to sneak from behind and attack Iwa’s unguarded backs. His experimental jutsu was perfect for the purpose, and he had a near flawless strike record so far.
And in the off chance he failed? It would be...understandable. The wars saw their fair share of victims and the Memorial was an honour for any loyal, Konoha nin.
The very thought made him taste bile. Tan digits curled into a trembling fist at his knee, as frigid blue hues glared a hole through the encroaching shadows of dusk that surrounded their camp. Kusa was known for its rich forests; gigantic fauna and rivers that made it the perfect terrain to hide and lie in wait. Nightfall usually witnessed the shadows that clung to its natural, beautiful scenery slip from their places and creep inwards, bathing all matter; living and non-living, in its eerie, peaceful silence.
Yet he had not experienced any blissful silence in so long; the static was a constant thrum in his mental-scape, one he had learned to accept. The Namikaze would be damned if he lost what constituted as his sanity to a useless murmur of sound; he had not survived through the countless murders to plead death by insanity, had not endured the constant stench of rot and copper which hung around his frame like the scent of mustard oil that he used to maintain his weapons.
Had not sliced through flesh despite the whimpers begging for mercy--
Cue a shuddering sigh as eyes squeezed shut and he felt the urge to rip out his own hairs. Trembling digits inched upwards, intending to do just that before Saito’s voice broke the spell.
“Are you okay?”
“Fine.”
Namikaze Minato was going insane. Maybe he had always been insane and by Kami, he couldn’t bring himself to care anymore. Blue hues snapped open, staring listlessly at the dark and he swallowed thickly against his now dry throat. His frame tipped forwards; forearms resting against his knees as long, blond bangs hid his terrifyingly monotonous expression.
They would learn to loathe him, to fear him and he would slaughter them like the pointless sacks of meat that they we--
“Mail call!” A second interruption, though this time something actually managed to hit him in the back of his head. Fumbling hands barely caught it before it could hit the ground as the designated courier nin giggled, “Sorry, Namikaze.” Boots crunched against the leaf littered floor before he moved inside the camp, similar calls echoing in his wake. Minato blinked owlishly at the nin’s retreating figure, before shifting his gaze to the messy paper wrapping and miniature scroll that hung listlessly from one of the many corners.
It wasn’t from Jiraiya sensei.
Minato no baka,
Heard you were stuck in Kusa. That sucks ne? You’re surrounded by giant weeds and laughing shrooms. I’ve sent you some of those weird sticky quail egg things you like to cheer you up.
Guess who’ll be deployed soon. Me, that’s who! Maybe we’ll even be at the same outpost. You can show me all the nice napping spots ne? We got news the other day that the war wouldn’t last long. It’s been years already. I hope you’re still…you know, you. I miss you. Why did you stop writing?
Take care of yourself. Better not die or I’ll drag you back from the clutches of the shinigami just to kill you myself.
Kushina
Weird sticky quail egg things? Wait, was she talking about the sticky sweet beans he had accidentally spilled on her once?
