Monster High Rupaul Dragon Queen Unboxing post 1 of 2. This doll is quite nice, it has some weight to it and feels substantial, the hair quality is great, the accessories are detailed, but not painted. The outfit looks cool, but feels a bit meh, the quality is lacking a bit. The face mold is unique and accurate and the makeup is pretty. One thing that some people may think is controversial is that I don't care for the pink tear duct painted on the inner corner of the eyes. Overall, I love this doll, the fact that she is on the big sister body, the spicy outfit and boots, the dramatic expression and the perfect hair.

The fact that Monster High is collaborating with Rupaul rubs me the wrong way. I don’t want the man who said (and to my knowledge still upholds) that female people can’t do drag (completely disregarding and disrespecting a large chunk of the drag community) representing queer excellence in the brand. Rupaul seems like one of the strangest gay celebrities to represent Monster High’s supposed message, especially having views aligned with transphobia and misogyny. I'm not trying to "cancel" or shame anyone for liking a doll (that’s not how I roll), this whole situation just leaves a kinda bad taste in my mouth... I'm not sure if that is the case for anyone else.

PS. I absolutely know why Ru was chosen. He is well known, palatable to straight allies, has a large fanbase, and is the host of one of the most successful reality tv shows on television. I just don’t agree personally with him being introduced into the Monster High brand.

Sad I'm missing out on this one

Monster High RuPaul Dragon Queen doll. I already know how Monster High pre-orders go. Not going to bother to try. But I do love RuPaul.

Mattel did a "secret" sale (of course paid Mattel members posted it all over social media cuz content, baby) of some sold out MH collector dolls (Elvira), and same as always - the rereleases immediately sold out within seconds of the sales going live.

I really do feel bad for dedicated MH collectors. My nerves just could not handle that level of frustration. I get unreasonably angry, and I'm just a casual G3 collector. I know none of the lore. I've never seen any of the shows/movies (? - there was a movie, right?). Not invested in any of the characters.

I wish Integrity Toys would do another RuPaul, though. Those were some gorgeous dolls. Come on, IT - it's been six years. Surely it's time for a repro release? Eh? Eh?
