I’m actually disappointed in myself that I haven’t drawn him sooner- considering that he’s the whole reason as to why I’m so stuck on tsp now AKWNAJWJS

ONE COOL PART is this could be my first fully colored comic piece w completely original dialogue???#where like. i didn't quit at any point of it. EXCEPT. skimping on the backgrounds. but again. more effort than i'm willing to put in #but i think it still counts bc my only real plan was to have the askr pillars/walls as framing/backdrops #ALSO the characterization... in the panel where lif walks into frame. it's SO fun to me #they both look at lif. but moe is Not subtle about it. looking directly at him. while alfonse side-eyes him.#and the most IMPORTANT detail. is that alfonse and lif are making the same kind of face. like 🤨#there is SO MUCH POTENTIAL. in alfonse and lif sharing facial expressions. in having the same knee-jerk reactions to things.#and it's espppp fun to figure out bc you're only working w half of lif's face. it's all in the eyes/brows and SOMETIMES!#SOMETIMES!!!! it's in the nose! in this illust he is more relaxed/resting so you don't see it here #but i'm TELLING you. adding some scrunch to the nose can add soooo much expression-wise #this took longer than i expected it to. also. which is why i'm so over it LMFAOO #but i do think the extra time was worth it... first run of the last panel was too lighthearted/jokey #capturing some conflict between moe/alfonse was the right choice. in how intensely this starts off (tonally)#AND! in showing how they do butt heads at times. in fact sometimes they clash REALLY badly!!!!#which is actually so huge bc i've wanted to capture this since the beginning. how they're so similar but also so opposite #that a lot of times! they understand each other deeply and cover each other's basis. Will I ever expect Nintendo writing a Ganondorf who's trying to break the curse and end the cycle? No. I simply think their faithful adherence to the nature of fairytales about the knight rising up to face evil and save the princess is simply that strong. It's a classic (in the most literal sense cite Perseus and Andromeda). It's why I don't believe in a playable Zelda until I see it with my own eyes.

While the earnest nature of providing interesting spins on this millennia old formula is rather endearing, I would welcome earnest breaks in turn as well. Yet until I see it, I simply won't be holding my breath for when it comes.

#no slight to anyone wanting either thing in totk but 35 years of narrative precedence is pretty strong #that being said if you ask me my ''dream Zelda game'' much of the plot involves something regarding either one #i think a zelda game where the king of hyrule is zelda's elder brother. a game where link and zelda have long since been married #and the main villain isnt ganon but say an invader of another kind.#but ganondorf is present. a young traveling mercenary informed of his fate to become the king of evil and trying for a cure from that fate #zelda is not taken but an active participant; frequently joining link traveling around hyrule or breaking off to buy more equipment #and do some scouting of her own #it has botws exploration but maybe some linearized pieces of development like a dungeon thats a fortress wall blocking off parts of the map #random encounters against Ganondorf who's time is running out and desperately trying to find zelda #until the two of you are travelling and he ambushes you.#you can lose and must rescue her from his lair. you can fend him off. or you can defeat him and track him down #the first has minimal changes to the ending of the game. the second has a surprise ganon fight. and the third reveals a quest #one where he explains his plight and help break his curse #and in the end the three of you face the villain side by side #i think that would be a cool game #zelda #legend of zelda #tears of the kingdom #totk #loz

(yeah, my trauma/Trauma of 'I learnt a lot of complex/komplex (🎉)English words through reading rather than listening' is shining through here. Like. You can read most of these if you know either language. But it's not all that intutive (intuitiv) how to pronounce them.)

Generally/generell, though I think the key difference/Differenz is that German prefers to stress the penultimate syllable of a word and English likes to stress the first syllable. (Which is why my students love to literally insert syllables towards the end of English words and trip over words like 'prestigious' - because there is no nice, long stressed syllable to take a rest on while racing through all those unstressed syllables.)

(though I also feel like German is a bit more liberal about changing the stress when you feel like it? This might just be me, but I definitely more comfortable changing the stress of a word in German depending on context at least when it comes to additions such as un-, -less/-los, -voll/full, -arm/-reich.)

#I feel like there's definitely a lot of blame to go the vowel shifts and consonant shifts #which shortened/lengthened different parts even of equivalent words (blood vs Blut)#but also I feel like english is generally more comfortable to leave a vowel 'dangling' at the end (-ity; -ly)#while we like to run face-first into our reliably firm final-devoicing wall to know we successfully completed our mission/word #which is I suspect the reason why a lot of German learners of English like to emphasise the -ing in progressive forms

#cheesy ass caption #something something an eye for an eye but the actual physical scarring can be interpreted as symbolism of Dark Cacao and Choco's characters #bcs Choco's is like on his eye a very defining and public scar like it's one of the first things you see on his character which can be #interpreted as like how it's clear as day that he's not the same “noble prince” he was while Dark Cacao's (possible) scar is not only #never seen in any of his sprites but we never get a scope to how bad the injury was (even though it's possible he was hardly injured due to #like being immortal but I digress and also think that interpretation is incorrect) could be seen as how he hides his damage from the kingdo #and its citizens even though it's eating him up from the inside and eventually spills over into a more physical manifestation (the wall) of #his grief and all that he DOES try his best to hide how much everyone he ever cared about leaving him affects him.#anyway tl;dr Dark Choco's damage from their conflict is incredibly visible which is reflected in his eye scar while you wouldn't be able to #see Dark Cacao's as easily or at all. Anyway you get it. You see the themes. Would twig eat jello?

Twig would have loved eating jello as a young human, but she'd be utterly repulsed by it as an adult pokemon. She's got a thing about food being slimy, and Jello activates her fight or flight response. She can't wrap her head around why she ever liked it in the first place when she finds it so gross now. Maybe it's something to do with charmeleon biology??? Can they just not keep down jello?? Whatever it is, she hates it and its mouth-feel with a fiery passion.

Kip, meanwhile, would love the stuff.
