Last song listened to: Be my Everything (English Version). It’s a solo song from one of the members of a K-pop group named Purple Kiss, and it’s fantastic! Great vocals, even though I do prefer the other song from the single more.

Currently Watching: Nashville (2013) and the new season of The Dragon Prince. I only have one episode of Nashville left and it’s the finale, so that’s pretty sad. I’m three episodes into season 5 of Dragon Prince and really liking it! I’m glad the animation has improved since the beginning.

Currently Reading: Nothing now. I just finished Dear Mothman by Robin Gow and loved it though! It is written for young teens, but it’s a really great queer narrative and is written through some very nice free verse poetry.

Current Obession: It’s mainly Skyrim (liked it so much I made a Tumblr blog for it, after all), but since I talk a lot about that, I’ll also mention Hollow Knight. I’m playing it right now and it’s very hard, but very good! I like how little handholding it does.

Ok but one thing that I absolutely love about Runa is that she looked at Viola Dumont, daughter of the mentor that treated her so terribly, ex apprentice of the man who betrayed her and tried to kill her in her darkest moment, and went, "I'm going to treat this girl better than they ever could".

And she did!! Viola thrives under Runa's instruction! Runa never says a bad word about Leopold in front of her, she doesn't even delve into outright facts about their history in front of her unless she has to! Because that's still her dad and Runa respects that!! She cares for Viola and the boys so deeply that even Barclay, who has attachment and abandonment issues, knows that she is their family and that she will always treat them well.

Runa is still so damaged by the hardships life threw at her, by all the tragedy she's faced, but she makes damn sure that she's breaking the cycle as best as she can.

WIP wednesday (it’s tuesday)

The silence within her quarters was deafening. The Lord Captain clenched her teeth, a painful lump beginning to form within her throat. Heinrix was barely breathing now, his shallow nasal exhales condensing into mist before her. And despite her refusal to acknowledge it, she already knew deep down that there was nothing more she could do. Runa allowed her heavy eyelids to flutter closed, prepared to resign herself entirely to the weight of her grief as she breathed in the warm familiarity of his fading cologne.

I’m sorry – I’m so sorry. You trusted me, but I couldn’t save you.

The blood roared loud in her ears, threatening to deafen her, but she couldn’t bring herself to care. She was as numb as her blue fingertips, her chest a hollow cavity of cold, roiling torment. What could she do except pray and hope? Nothing – nothing at all. She would be forced to bear it as his life force was sapped from his vessel before her very eyes. Her final moments with her mother were spent in a horrifyingly similar fashion; clutching the older woman’s damp curls to her chest as Runa prayed to the God-Emperor through stifled hiccups and tears. The girl had seen but eight Sanguinalas.

How many nightmares do you think Runa is going to have after the events of TNC, especially now that Cyril is taking the kids and she's all by herself. Not just nightmares about Grusha, and Audrian, and Navrashtya, but nightmares about the kids. Nightmares about not being able to save Barclay. Nightmares about how Tadg went in after Barclay, wondering if she was going to lose yet another Murdock to the water. Nightmares where Barclay gets taken away from her and treated like a science experiment.
